I have been watching Otz trying to get 40k BP as survivor and it's some real struggle, which doesn't seem right to me.
It's not really easy as a killer to get 40k, but it's possible, it's easy to get on 30k as most killers. Depends on specific killer tho, some have it easier.
But as a survivor, I am usually happy to get 20k and that's a decent game. 30K is really good game, where we got out. 40k seems near impossible.
EDIT: without BP offerings.
i got a 40k today but the killer was a doctor who farmed so... yeah that explains why

Maybe.... Stunning the killer increase the stun duration for additional 2 seconds or maybe resets killers power tokens like nurse blinks and blight charges. I still think that getting pallet stuns isn't always easy, especially against killers whom respect pallets all the time.
That last part is definitely true, but I run iron will with smash hit because i don't predict i'm going to get too many smash hits so i end up normally getting more value out of iron will. running a different exhaustion with it too like balanced or new dead hard isn't out of the picture either.
although, i do wonder how they can buff smash hit to make it closer to sprint burst / lithe without completely changing the perk or slightly reworking it. i guess buffing the base numbers like you said wouldn't be an awful idea. i don't know, i guess that's up to behaviour. i hope they treat smash hit with kindness because i don't want to go back to lithe.
-
scourge from onryo is okay, no clue how gutted call of brine got because i don't play onryo or her perks lol, save the best from myers is still really really good but it still could be considered killer reliant, i think from wesker the only one interesting is awakened awareness with starstruck agi, not very many perks that could be considered meta anymore though from licensed killers. most decent or higher perks are either free (sloppy butcher, mindbreaker, jolt) or are from the original chapters nowadays (corrupt, painres, etc), i honestly hope they look into this because these killers cost real money and should be worth more to get than just the killer. (plus, killers having bad perks makes getting adept achievements awful. please give killers decent perks thanks bhvr)
-
"*Smash Hit: (Buff/Slight Rework) Now everyime you drop the pallet, you can run 2 seconds of 150% movement speed with a 20 second exhaustion cooldown; but if you landed a stun on the killer; it is 4 seconds of 150% movement speed with a 40 second exhaustion cooldown."
I love Smash Hit to death but I'm going to have to disagree with this.
I mean, it's named Smash Hit and you get the bonus for... missing? Idk on that. Sure, it makes value more consistent but ehhhh, it kinda removes the feel good aspect out of getting that stun and getting that big bonus because no matter what you do with that pallet you get a bonus. Idk. I feel Smash Hit is fine as is, niche but fun to use, maybe it could have an additional effect added to the survivor but I don't think it needs a slight rework.

Ok let me put it this way.....X Streamer won't get blocked by just you...but let's say word gets out that people want to mess with X Streamer and then when he would have let's say 7,000 possible players to face it gets reduced to 500....this would limit how many games they could play because of even 1 person in that lobby of Survivors blocked them they could play against any of them....it's not fair for X Streamer because the block system would be HIGHLY abused to Target players
"oh no people will just go after streamers!!!!"
people would more than likely block the basement bubba or trapper man, i can assure you grouping up a mob of over a thousand people to block 1 streamer is tedious and hardly worth the effort. (and they have to be in the same server as the streamer AND similar mmr for it to even do anything btw) trolls exist, yes but i cannot think of there being 1 thousand trolls for any specific streamer in THEIR server that ALSO have the same MMR for it to even remotely touch the streamer. you're playing with such small odds and it's silly. it would be so much simpler for someone to just buy cheats and ruin a streamer's matches constantly than to do stuff like this. people don't like long, tedious and convoluted stuff. they want easy and annoying.
-
@VikingDragonXii said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3422356#Comment_3422356
No because then people would just start blocking people they don't want to face in general making it harder for those people to even get matches. It's the same if they did a Block Certain Killers
meh. i think people should be allowed to avoid being matchmade with at least 1 person. there's one streamer i know i'd avoid if so. if it allowed anyone to just block everyone ofc it'd be abused but i'm hopeful they allow in the future not wanting to be matchmade with 1-2 people you actively do not like.
-
yeah, i have no idea why at bare minimum there isn't a slider for the chase music yet, it seems silly. if they're not going to tone it down themselves they should let us do it for them. i wonder if it's similar to the fov slider and that they "think it will give an advantage". shrug.

DBD is at an all time low so I’m wondering what could peak people’s interest?
I think Stranger Things 2 chapter and a return of Steve, Nancy, of Demogorgon would intrigue the most amount of players. Two chapters with beloved characters returning from the first chapter would probably be the best option out of all of these.

And now you're telling me that this is nothing and shouldn't be addressed. Yikes, this is totally unbiased opinion from a person that previously admitted deliberately quitting an already started game.
Speaking of frequency, this bs started right after a recent midchapter update so I'm pretty sure that it'll get even worse in the nearest future. The more people face it - the more people will do this as well.
"And now you're telling me that this is nothing and shouldn't be addressed. Yikes, this is totally unbiased opinion from a person that previously admitted deliberately quitting an already started game."
I never said it shouldn't be addressed. I said, the devs aren't in a rush to fix it, because this isn't happening in a majority of games, that is a completely separate opinion than saying this shouldn't be addressed. I am pointing out your case is a minority of cases and the devs probably aren't going to drop everything to fix it.
And you're using the fact I mentioned I left a match against a Dredge ONCE (I even specified once, and it was because Dredge makes me feel unwell) against me because you think it means I'm biased. You're shutting what I have to say down and you're covering your ears like a child and are going "la la la la la". Actually listen to what I'm saying and you'll realize I've never said what you're claiming that I said. Don't be ridiculous like this.

DBD is the only community where I have seen this selfish terrible mechanic that ruins games endorsed by not only the community but also the devs. It's simply disgusting.
It's crazy that as a blight main I have to speak for other survivor's who abuse this mechanic that is beyond outdated, because my survivor games in mid elo are unplayable.
I get it, the most competitive game you have played is dbd so you think this sort of thing is ok. I can't blame you for thinking that way after playing this game so much but any real video game player would disagree with you. Go play cod if you want this non-sense.

Your experience isn't the same as mine. I don't get ragequitters every 2nd or 3rd game, so yeah, of course I disagree with your suggestion. You're not the only person playing dbd right now, man. Sucks you get a lot of people who give up but your experience isn't the same as everyone else's.

Deliverance exists for a reason. That being said, it goes without saying that if they decide to address the problem with an unhooking mechanic then they'll have to overhaul certain perks/offerings. Or maybe just start punishing players that abuse unhooking. Or both. It all depends on them.
Deliverance doesn't do what I want it to do though. Slippery Meat and luck offerings ignores the unhook factor of Deliverance which you can't always guarantee per match. I feel you are missing my point.
I'd rather not have a whole mechanic and perks and offerings overhauled just because people can't handle that not everyone in their match wants to stay in it. Unironically, preaching all about fun for others introduces a system that could in fact, ruin fun for others by ruining a fun build for them.

Silliness is in their nature
Reviewbombing, wishing death to the devs over the slightest changes of their beloved perks, ragequitting, talking shEEt to the other players just because they can has already became normal or systematic for a certain part of dbd community. Negativity is all they get and share in this game and yet they bother to continue playing. Well, all I wish for them is just uninstalling and never coming back.
I don't think all of these things were done by the same players. A person who dies on hook may have reviewbombed sure, but I don't see the correlation to all of these things. None of these things are okay, but we truly have no real evidence these are all the same people.

There is a punishment for a cannibalism in a normal society. Yet, in our dbd society, there is none.
I don't want them to remove unhooking. I want them to prevent unhooking at the start of the game or start punishing such individuals. This is already becoming systematic which is unhealthy for the game.
I never said you wanted to remove unhooking. I just said something in reference to the original post, as we were starting an irrelevant argument and we should've gotten back on topic. Your suggestion isn't the greatest either. My friends and I use slippery meat and luck offerings, and if we get downed fast we shouldn't be able to use our offerings / perk? Seems a little silly...

Then why more and more people are doing this? Then why are there still people that defend their right to "just leave the game without any penalties"?
Some people doing a thing doesn't make something normalized. Some people on this planet eat others people, and post about doing so. Is it normal for people to eat people and post about eating people? No.
I fully believe --- like cannibals --- these hook giver-uppers are the vocal minority. An unfortunate vocal minority sure, but still a minority. Referring to the original post, I don't think removing self unhooking fixes the issue, because if someone just wants to not participate, they can stand still and not participate and eventually the killer will get so bored and kill them, or they will die to bleeding out. There has to be a smarter way of doing things than lazily removing self unhooking and thinking it fixes the whole issue.

Why do we need to care about their "perspective" when they don't have any care for anyone else after all?
Yeah I do get it when people say "every player is a human so please try to make match fun" but it's ridiculous when they say "I will screw everyone else in a match when anything bad happen for me and this is always on them".
"Why do we need to care about their "perspective" when they don't have any care for anyone else after all?"
Definite case of pot calling the kettle black.
You do not care about their perspective because you think they don't care about you. Yet it's bad when they do it, because they realize you don't care about their fun. Apparently. Shook.
""I will screw everyone else in a match when anything bad happen for me and this is always on them"."

What's wrong with these words? They perfectly describe the nature of a certain % of a dbd playerbase and you know it well. And believe me, they won't just end up with loading into another game, they'll proceed to do the same, I personally met the same rq ppl in my lobbies, guess how it ended?
Speaking about videogames, please tell me why do you think that it's okay for some players to throw up the game for others while it's a normal practice to punish such ppl/such behaviour isn't tolerated in a community of another games.
aren't you the guy who said you played the night shift and don't have much time to play?
it truly is impeccable how you people don't see it from the other person's perspective. what if someone, who also worked the same hours as you, decided they didn't want to play through a match because they only have so much time to play and didn't want to play through an unfun match?
sure, you can argue they should eat a full dc penalty for that, and i don't even disagree, but i feel you only view it from your perspective and treat these other people like they're from the fifth layer of hell. they're players, just like you.

Just end the match, they say.
I have to deal with this bs on a daily basis which is absolutely absurd. Every 3rd game some individual throws himself on hook just because they didn't like the killer they went against/the map/the offering/the weather outside their house. My teammate Johan loads into the game, hears huntress' lullaby, runs to her, lets her hook him and kills himself. I do an adept spirit achievement, Ace cleanses my haunted, gets downed, kills himself on the hook. All this happened in a ######### hour.
I work on the night shifts and I don't have that much time to play yet some whiny entitled crybaby wastes the time I and other players spent on finding the match/loading in and then we have to wait for a killer to end this nonsense. This shEEt should be absolutely punishable as far as DCs are.

The game is instantly over and boring for both sides after a rage quit. People who play killer and think rq keeps the game the same amount of fun are boring players and realistically should be fine just playing bots at that point.
As killer if i see a early dc i kill 2 people and let the last one go most of the time, unless killing the last survivor is faster. There's no reason stressing out over someone else's dc, just end the match. Saying the match is "ruined" is a bit much. And I don't get your point about being fine playing with bots instead, most matches don't have dcs that affect the match too heavily, why would I play with bots instead lol

Who said anything about making them all look the same? Kate looks nothing like Yui and neither looks anything like Feng but they're all very popular characters. Why didn't everyone like Haddie just the same? Clearly there is something about the more popular characters that some of the newer ones don't have. I'm not going to play let alone spend any money on boring and generic looking characters. I'd rather invest time and money into 5 characters that look like Kate than 1 thats easily forgettable.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3411235#Comment_3411235
"Variety and diversity" only goes so far when you're trying to market something that sells almost entirely based upon its visual appearance.
If you don't like Haddie, stay not playing her. The people who like her looks and her lore will play her. Not every survivor has to be made to be popular or pretty just like "KateMain86" on the forums wants them all to be. I would honestly have 5 Haddies than have 5 clones of Kate just because "pretty characters sell".

Here is a short story:
Back in 2019 when Spirit was not nerfed, her add-ons were extremely busted. I was using Bloody Hair Brooch and Wakizashi Saya these two add-ons made me feel like I’m the best Spirit in the world. I was literally getting 4KS and never lost EVER with these two add-ons. After they got nerfed my kill rate went from 100% to 0%. Because I was not good with her as I thought but add ons made feel like I was the best.
Blight mains are going through the same thing I went through in 2019. Try playing your killer and don’t rely on add-ons because if they got nerfed you are screwed.
yeah, this is why i don't play blight with addons. feels cheap imo and basekit blight is already so much fun and is so strong why would i want to make him a sweatfest? i stopped investing bp into blight altogether and started investing into billy instead as he's more addon reliant. i hope they look into blight addons because i love going against and playing blight but people who play him REALLY like using his strong addons and it makes going against him kinda suck and playing him some people might just sweat just by seeing me exist in their match as a blight because of the general jist of how people play the killer.
