I've seen a few hand made items and figures for DbD, and I do want a Nurse statue (even if she's fallen from grace) but nothing really besides those few items.

That fair I always just thought of it as one of her mechanics instead of a mindgame but I do use that so I guess I do mind game a bit with her sense I use that alot. The other thing that helps is that no one runs dead hard around here sense it's broken right now so that helps me make alot of my swings.
Yeah when DH starts working again you will see x4 every game assuring you waste large amounts of time in chases since it's virtually impossible to fake them out now.
-
I honestly don't know what that is supposed to mean.
Irrational anger like a pregnant woman? No clue tbh. If that is what you meant... yikes dude. Victorian era called.
-
@Tro said:
She’s broken and needs a buff or a rework.
I'd rather not a rework, I love her concept and she has some of the most unique and engaging gameplay of any character in modern games. Just remove the dumb hat on a hat of a cooldown and listen to what the players are suggesting BHVR.

You too fam. Maybe another day you'll actually post an in-depth response with a position and statements that can be backed up by literally anything.

Are we forgetting killer used to be way harder than it is now to fit a certain narrative? Ok cool, just making sure.
Just because killer was harder before doesn't justify not making the game more balanced now.
The game had infinites and other things killers had no way to beat, of course it needed to be changed. We still have problems in modern day DBD, they just aren't the same issues. They still need to be addressed though.
Scratch that, we do have one issue from the early days still: SWF.

I guess I just didnt consider that a mind game. I considered that just playing her. To me it's not really a mind game.
Well part of playing killer is implementing tricks to fool the survivors into making bad moves, that's mindgames for every killer right there.

Bro I do not want to have a conversation with you. Move on.
For someone who doesn't want a conversation you certainly reply a lot.
List your position and defend it. I'm trying to be constructive here, but I can't really do anything when your entire argument to date has been "She's op"

Yeah that really put me in my place and explained your POV 👌👌👌

No point in replying to a temper tantrum.
When you can make cohesive points that aren't just "she's op and now she's not" we can actually have a conversation.
I've listed numerous reasons and stated all of my points over and over. You just keep parroting the same thing.

I mean I played it when it first came out but then dropped it before my time in DBD so idk how useful that is for you.

Yeah, generally a nerf should mean you are less capable. She was way too strong.
Bhvr isn't responsible for your anger problems. The best Nurses are still deadly with her. People that depended on how OP she was aren't. Seems fair to me.
What was OP before? There was counterplay, you just had to employ it.
They removed what was considered her OP addons, that's not an excuse anymore.
AND I NEVER SAID SHE WASN'T VIABLE, I AM PURELY STATING HOW UNFUN SHE IS AND HOW MUCH OF HER PLAYSTYLE IS NOW MONO GARBAGE THAT FORCES YOU TO PLAY IN A VERY SPECIFIC WAY OR GET PUNISHED OVER AND OVER
-
@brokedownpalace said:

Ok? That's what happens when changes are made. Especially changes that require more skill.
The only skill required now to play her than before is patience.
They didn't add anything in anyway that would let her do ANYTHING new or change her gameplay AT ALL. It is strictly limiting on what you can do.
You can do LESS than you could BEFORE, full stop. Literally no new tools or options, purely LESS.
All that amounts to is a lot of frustration and the skill to not break your monitor or controller.
-
@Salty_Pearl said:
They need to revert her and just nerf her +blink addons. She was perfectly fine the way she was.
Or at the very least not ham fist a double sided issue in one go. Should've been
nerf addons (lets be honest they didn't really do a good job overall anyways since most are still useless) --> wait and monitor her ---> change her basekit if she's still too ???
Devs still never gave a concrete answer as to why she had to have a basekit change either btw.

Even though she is the best killer in the game, people can’t hit blinks. The only people saying she is bad are ones who were carried before.
Perhaps if people didn’t want a braindead easy killer then you would see more.
I love your argument. Brain dead easy to use and that's why she's considered the hardest to learn, and has a unique "baby Nurse" learning phase.
Because she's so easy and braindead to use.

I'm guessing the stat post they did like a month or 2 ago? It was a big mess on the forums for a minute lol.
But it showed Freddy as the strongest killer, I didn't pay attention to who was 2nd.

She was the first Killer I was interested in when I first tried Dead By Daylight about 3-4 years ago (and Huntress). Her whole art design, play style and all just intrigued me. I used to play alot in my beginning year but then I realized the higher you climbed as Killer the harder it got for me to play Killer. As of then I'm now a Survivor and only play Killer if Matchmaking is taking too long or if I have a challenge/ritual. I really hope they look into the fatigue though. I think that'd really nail the issue right on the spot.
When I first started she was one of the first killers I gravitated towards as well, but back then I thought she was trash because I had nooooo clue how she really worked lol. It took a hundred, maybe 2, hours of other killers before I jumped back onto her and actually learned her.
It's funny to think at one point I thought she was the utter worst most trash killer in the game xD

Wait is that really their response? Does that mean I am allowed to make and maintain a bot for farming BP, or Iri?
Can I get a Dev to confirm this?
I meant like teamspeak or discord programs my bad. They obviously have anti-cheat stuff in place for anything like that, but they have said they don't really care about voice comms outside of their game. They won't implement one oh no, that would break the game, but using it outside of the game is 👌
-
I had the wonderful experience of watching a Dwight do literally nothing but run across autohaven twice before I was actually able to catch up to him and go for a hit... all so he could juke the telegraphed hit and reset the chase. That's par for the course now.

No problem. In a better world you could've stuck with it and gotten the absolutely amazing thrill of blinking through walls and floors to land hits. God I miss Nurse so much :.(

I can think of only 3 killers that could ever benefit from it, albeit not every time:
Nurse, Hag, Spirit.

Maybe after enough reports, the dev's will finally start to get an idea of just how much of a problem SWF is causing the game entirely. You wanna talk about "what's skewing statistics". This is one way to screw statistics.
Sadly the devs response to SWF comms is : "we can't control who uses what program (discord) outside of the game"... so it's not our problem.
They only ever TALK about dealing with SWF to placate us, they never ever follow through with anything about SWF.

Removing fatigue would be a great step towards making her viable again if she isn't at this point.
She's still viable, they didn't absolutely murder her power, just the fun and versatility of it. But yes removing the fatigue would help a lot.
Also, they changed all of her addons, and also she didn't have any ultra rares before the pass because she was back in the day when they had no standardization on things like that so she never received one. And one of her new ultra rares hurts you more than it helps you since it removes your ability to go through walls.

I would love to see some numbers or videos showing these “strongest nurses” playing, I’ve literally found 2 videos online of her after her nerf and the survivors in them were not playing anywhere near good.
Some people think she’s boring, too hard to learn, or not worth the time, the fact is she needs a rework or at least a buff of some sort.
I gave some constructive ideas, and actually I liked one given by someone else too, base kit nurse when not in chase. They can implement any of this, or come up with their own. The fact remains. Something should be done, please.
Like how many threads full of wonderful (and terrible too) suggestions has this forum had? Way too many to have any excuse to keep this terrible change to her that's for sure.

Hit a survivor. They run into the preschool on Badham as I'm on cooldown. Walk at 96% until I can blink again. Since I'm a god tier Nurse, I already know that they went down the stairs and stopped 3/4 of the way instead of going straight through, left, right, completely out of the school, into one one of the alcoves, or into the basement. There's always a correct blink if you're a god tier Nurse. I charge my blink, ready to fire the exact distance to the survivor inside this maze of a building whom I haven't seen or heard for 6 seconds. Game is bugged. Can't blink. Fatigue. Outplayed again.
Oh man, that hit me right in the feels.

We know for a fact the devs dont play killer past rank 20. So it would not shock me if these nurse changes were suggested by someone who doesnt play nurse.
If Coyte was anything to go by yeah I wouldn't be surprised if they're all low rank and don't actually understand parts of their own game.
I know this is pretty common for game devs to only have somewhat of a grasp on their own game compared to the people who play it day in and day out, I reasonably don't expect devs to be as clued into their own game as their players. They have to work with data and behind the scenes tools to make decisions, and sadly that has not worked well for this game recently.

Is there a specific reason why they decided to do this to her? I mean, I know she was favored more in high ranks and only on PC. I play on ps4 so I'm guessing this change/nerf is twice as bad for console players?
Yeah on console she was already pretty bad, and while she is still technically playable why put yourself through the torture?
As for the reason, according to them it wasn't because of balance (they have said they don't want to balance the game around the high elos but they changed a killer who was only good in high elo SOOOOOO) but because of some unknown reason to us, something about her kit they didn't like. They were very vague with it as I recall.

You absolutely have to mind game her blinks. I'm not sure where to even begin with that. The quick aim camera flick as you release the blink charge is a baseline high rank Nurse tech. You'll have a very hard time catching red rank survivors at LOS breaks if your aren't mindgaming your blink destination. They can see where you're aiming and can hear how long you're charging for.
I agree, you do need the mind games in her kit otherwise she gets countered way too hard by LOS breaks.
God damn I miss old Nurse. On the day of her death patch I was still playing her well into the evening until like 2P.M when I was unable to find anymore matches of people who didn't update. That was the last fun day I had with this game :(

First version of nurse had a much faster movement speed and like said three blinks. Probably because of that. When I started playing (Sept 2017), Nurse had already the current movement speed two blinks, but a less controllable blink mechanic. (Vertical control came only with the introducation of The Game.) By my experience good Nurse players were already using her blinks for movement at the time. So people got her play probably when they changed her Speed and Blinks.
That's what I figured, I don't see any reason they would've even touched her if she was still unkown lol. It must've been right before those changes that people really started to understand her.
I also came in a little bit before her vertical changes which were so nice and really fleshed her out. Until they janked her up again :/
-
@EvilJoshy said:
I started playing nurse again. I haven't really touched her since her nerf. I need to get used to waiting for the cd to recharge. It's not that big a deal just messing with my muscle memory.
My biggest issue is it's harder to traverse the map now. By the time I find someone my blinks are already used up.
that is part of the problem, her flow is gone. She used to be the most fluid killer and her power was honestly probably the most versatile power in the game able to be used outside and inside of chases, if you were smart with them of course.
Now she's janky, doesn't flow, constantly getting cucked by your own power meter. It all feels like changes suggested by people who don't play her at all.
@ApeOfMazor I was being sarcastic. I'm a very big opponent of the changes we got to Nurse.

As a Nurse-main myself, you sound very ... unconvincing. Saying you don't even know your blink distances, but yet get many kills with her versus red ranks.
I myself know blink distances very well, but I still miss alot of blinks, because tricky survivors do unexpected turns last moments.
Remember how fun it was to fake blinks or charge a full blink and look down at the last second to get those juicy hits?
Prepridge Farm remembers.

Did they do something to her? Last time I checked she was the most efficient Killer..
Sorry I didnt keep up with patch notes until just recently with the Ruin rework.
Yes a few patches back they did an "addon pass" for her that resulted in her getting a cooldown into her basekit. So now you spend at least half of the game walking at the slowest speed in game waiting for your power, and that's if the cooldown didn't 99% you and ruin your double blink, or you don't get a game breaking bug that prevents you from blinking at all, or any mind-game possibilities she had are all gone, and the fun factor of playing her is almost non-existent because what is fun about watching someone dodge your telegraphed hit with barely any skill involved?

Don't tell me what to do.
Let me rephrase,
Please don't. For your sanity.
In all honesty it's not a good time to learn Nurse right now. She has game breaking bugs and her playstyle is a shell of what it used to be. Buy the cosmetic by all means but don't expect to have any fun during it.

Yeah I find that extremely hard to believe as well considering the way she has talked about Nurse on stream. Basically sounding like someone who's only ever handled her in the lowest of elos with barely enough comprehension of her power to hit someone.

Don't.

I’ve gotten a few responses from them not about the bugs but the cool down and yea they don’t wanna remove the cool down
I figured. They really love cooldown right now despite a majority of killer players telling them over and over and over and over and over and over again that it isn't fun and limits the design possibilities for killers.
But for GODS SAKE if they just made it so you get charge, even if it's slower, while using your blinks that would at least make her somewhat enjoyable.
It really bugs me that clearly NO ONE on the team plays Nurse. Not. One.
-
@GHOSTfaceP3 said:
Sadly nurse is in a bad spot right now...those who know how to play her can still play her for the most part and those who can’t struggle even more to learn..plus a lot of people dropped her because the cool down is just terrible but the devs are happy with the change despite the overwhelming evidence that the cool down is to much ..hopefully they change that but I doubt they will
Based on the EXTREMELY FEW responses they ever gave back regarding Nurse, there are no plans for at least 7+ months to even look at her.
Bugs and all I guess.

Just add an option in settings to hide your own rank from yourself if some "casul" is so disturbed by the sheer sight of it
Hey that's a band-aid fix, you'd be good at BHVR!
-
I think part of it has to do with their claim that this game is casual and non-competitive. In casual games your elo is usually hidden from you so you feel less pressured and angry when things go wrong. In this sense, I actually agree with BHVR and hope these changes do well.
But we all know this game is comptitive as #########, and it will only worsen the problems we already have because good ol' Baind-Aid Fix BHVR doesn't actually want to tackle core problems in the game.

Yes. I can't remember all of them but when I saw survivors in certain outfits it was a pretty good chance they were a certain type of player, and usually that type was Toxic.
Although there are def some outfits that hint at the player being other things besides toxic, but that was the main one I was on the lookout for.
-
Oh it's not that big of a change you're just overreacting.
I mean having literally less playstyle options and walking slowly while a survivor runs away and you're unable to do anything is the hieght of engaging gameplay.

Old nurse. She used to have three blinks base. She was the weapon we used to destroy the survivor menace.
I wasn't around that early on, but from the videos I've seen it looked like a majority of players didn't understand how to play Nurse and saved her blinks only for chases (a lot like now actually, but they had the freedom to choose to do that,) so was there actually a lot of Nurses back in the day able to play her right? I'd love to see any old videos like that, just for nostalgia.

I can definitely see you you can find that annoying. I guess I just never had it so I don't miss it lol. As for the mind game that's why I stopped playing her. It just isn't that fun sense it's just the same thing over and over and while it takes skill to use her blinks it doesn't leave any opportunities for being creative if that makes sense. That's why I'm a Billy and ghosty main honestly. They have so many more options in a chase to make it fun.
That's one of my biggest issues with her changes, they took ALL of her creative playstyles and just threw them out in leu of one very specfic playstyle.
You're lucky to have picked her up after the changes, I assure you you'd be hating them if you had learned her beforehand lol.
-
@Peanits said:
If the survivors were good, you didn't. Granted, the way the game has played has changed a ton since then. Every time something gets harder, people adjust and gradually get better at the game. In early 2017, looping hardly even existed. Most people would run from pallet to pallet, dropping them as soon as the killer got close.
Early 2018 was a little more rough since people were starting to get better, but things long double pallets, vacuums and first-down DS were still in full effect.
But to answer the original question, a lot of people ran Nurse because of that.
Speaking of Nurse, are there going to be any bug fixes or changes coming her way to address the abismal state she is in right now?
Strong or not isn't what I'm getting at here. We as a community have offered you guys plenty of better changes that actually reward managing blinks (if that's what the goal of the rework was) way better than what we got, while still keeping her fun intact.
I really want to play this game again but as a Nurse main I have no reason to currently.

When I say that I'm newer to her I have somewhere around 70 or 80 hours with her. So by no means am I an expert. For the first couple hours I would only have a 1k or 2k game but I found it got alot easier when I didn't mind game at all and just blinked directly to them. Maybe it's just the people I go against, I honestly don't know. The only thing I could see changing is the looking down after blinking. Was that a thing on old nurse too?
Literally the only thing they changed on her basekit was the cooldown stuff. So everything else you experience (including gamebreaking bugs) was there before. So instead of changing fatigue and adding a cooldown they just slapped a cooldown on an already cooldown like mechanic. No thought was put into this change, it was literally just a cop-out to actual real advanced changes, and it shows. If anyone on the team played her they would've instantly raised hell about the 99% charge scenario that happens a lot.
Mind-gaming right now is just straight up impossible with her so I don't fault you for abandoning it. It USED to be a lot of fun to play with them by blinking in strange places but now all it nets you is a wasted chase.
