Sorry :( Mainly speaking from experience as a baby Nurse myself. I had the Pumpkinhead for a while too, before swapping to the gas mask and now the Hallowed Blight outfit.
I still think her best costume is the valentines outfit personally. Idk what it is about being chased by a teleporting woman in a dress like that but it checks a few boxes lol.

Gas mask Nurse = Tryhard NOED + Slugging
Pumpkinhead Nurse = Wee baby Nurse.
I was a pumpkin headed Nurse with the WW outfit for a long time how dare you :(

You kidding me? If you think she was nerfed, you were never a good nurse to begin with. Her base kit is literally an extra half a second of waiting. If you think she was needed because her OP add ons we’re finally taken out then you just suck as nurse. Nurse wasn’t nerfed EASILY BEST KILLER
Bruh I was totally willing to accept the addon pass (even though what we got didn't even accomplish the GOALS SET OUT BY SAID PASS) because even though omega blink was my favorite addon combo, I didn't NEED it to win. It just made the game insanely fun and huge maps feel like my own personal playground.
What they SHOULD HAVE DONE is the addon pass first and then if she was still not where they wanted her they could've moved onto basekit changes. You don't start off saying you're only going to mess with addons and then change her basekit in a huge way.
The main reason I don't play her now FYI is not because of viability, but because of fun. I'm not a masochist, I don't enjoy constant negative feedback and punishment for even the slightest mistake while my enemies can make mistake after mistake and still get extremely well rewarded.

I'm not trying to put it down or anything like that. You just called me out for being new to her which I already stated. I'm just trying to share my experience and what works with her. Like I said she is alot different from her old version so I'm just wondering if that why you and other people have issues with her now sense you can't play her the same way. I'm sorry if I offended you, I'm just trying to show a different side of the story.
It's pretty much accepted as law of the land Nurse is one of if not the hardest killer to learn. You'll have to excuse me for doubting someone new to her can just instantly 4k at red ranks every game.
And she does play differently from before, mainly because she is so limited compared to her old self. There are things you can no longer do with her. Full Stop. I loved mind-gaming people by blinking in places they never expected and coming from behind a wall to get a cool hit. If you try that now there is a huge chance you're going to basically waste both of those blinks and either reset or lose the chase entirely because of the cooldown.
If it added new ways to play her or offered some new mind-games you could do I wouldn't be nearly as upset at the changes as I am, but here we are with me upset and her left with less tools to do less things than before.

yes her skill cap is hard to achieve, but you’re probs playing the strongest player if you are skilled as nurse
Normally when you change a character though you don't just make them worse and clunky, you usually offer at least a somewhat different way to play them.
Oh wait, they did for Nurse! It's called walking as the slowest killer in the game in-between actually playing the game.

Well if I can 4k in red ranks and you can't then I don't see how I'm the baby. I can do it without it but she's not my main and I don't play this game 24/7 I have alot of stuff to do outside of this game. The flannel just ensures that I won't screw up. Maybe try it and then maybe you'll actually be decent with her instead of complaining about her. But hey it's just a thought.
The more you talk the more it seems you just make up ######### to put down legitmate complaints about the new Nurse man.
@Raccoon said:
Dead Hard basically insta wins chases against the new nurse (distance + extended cooldown for whiffed attack).
I don't use her anymore.
Yeah talk about a hard counter perk, it basically just resets the chase entirely for her now.

It was obviously more difficult and much more frustrating to play Killer, but 4ks weren't impossible. I played Myers most of the time in 2017, and saw a decent amount of success. There was a lot less 4k-ing, however.
Another thing is survivors were nowhere near as good as they are now. No one really looped that optimally.
This. More people learned the loops and where to waste a killers time the most on any map which leads to more success over time despite nerfs to survivors.

It's a shame they didn't just remove Nurse.
I would rather see her gone than the shell she is now.

She actually does. It's setup time. Can't apply pressure if have to walk places where nobody is yet. So she have to play in very specific way as well. But the punishment isn't that bad compared to Nurse, even though all her setup can be easily destroyed with little coordination or even play against her because of lack of QOL things (she keeps getting teleported to wrong clones, so best strat is run around and trigger all you can while Hag is in chase).
Oh my god I raged so hard playing a great game of hag with mapwide tele + shackles and I was plowing through them with Amandas unhook perk and about halfway through I keep teleporting to traps across the map instead of the ones I mean to. It was so rage inducing oh my god lol
@HexDevourSWF said:
I should also mention that the only add on I use is the flannel sense I'm still getting used to the distance for blinks
I hope you see how dumb this look. If you're still getting used to her teleport distance I can assure you any good survivor will easily evade you. There's a reason for "baby Nurses."
So if you're still not completely muscle memory aware of her distance than you clearly aren't 4king good survivors.

Thats what I already thought about her last cosmetic. Like "her here is a cool new cosmetic, how about playing her now?"
I dont understand why they make nurse cosmetics at all in her current state.
Yeah it really does suck. I actually bought her valentines outfit like 2 months or so before the rework. Imagine how dumb I feel spending 10$ for a nice spiffy outfit on something like the new Nurse. Gross.
-
Exactly!!!
Like how can anyone argue this was anything but a straight up limitation on her? No new ways to do anything, just less ways to do the same things.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I can only play her in small doses. Way too much effort for the reward now. Too much easy counterplay for smart survivors to utilize. They never asked themselves why anyone would choose Nurse after the changes. There's no compelling reason to take her over Spirit IMO.
Or someone like Hag with a similar power of teleportation that doesn't get punished for using her power...
-
Regarding these new cosmetics I really just have they seem intent on releasing a bunch of Nurse related cosmetics. Usually companies release that before they gut the character but BHVR seems to be trying to convince players to play her again with all these cosmetics, but it aint workin

Not really, she is just unfun to learn to play.
Well with the 2nd blink bug I would say she is literally unplayable when stuff like that happens despite the rework that was focused on her completely ignoring that and will probably not be fixed for a long time.

it takes me less than 8-10 seconds to down someone if i find them (after first hit). sure, map could have a possible effect including if they have dead hard but this goes back to my point that once you’ve met nurse’s skill cap, ur basically playing as the best player in the game who can constantly teleport.
Please post videos where you're doing this against good survivors on a regular basis. I would love to see how many can just run in a straight line and extend their chases with you with such a dumb tatic. Not completely elude you, just make a chase that should've ended quickly take ages because of her slowness + cooldown.

Ironic, the only whiny threads we have gotten lately all come from killers.
Because playing killer is getting worse and worse again.
We were on a good streak for most of last year and the end of the year before that. Playing killer actually felt fun and wasn't a stress induced nightmare, but now we're slowly going back to where killers are just toys for survivors to play with again.
You know what really turns people off of a game? Being told you're the power role and having a group of "weaker" survivors completely and utterly dominate you with a braindead objective and bullying BHVRs (see what I did there?)
-
@HexDevourSWF said:
I'm newer to nurse and honestly don't have a problem with her. I don't think I'm god tier with her or anything but I don't think she needs a buff at all. I have no problem blinking once to get close and then the second to get on top of them and hit them. Then I wait for my two blinks to recharge and do the same thing. I don't find it that hard or anything that you guys talk about. Yeah it's annoying when I miss a attack but that isn't that often. As for the looking down after blinking, it's annoying to begin with but I got used to it rather quickly. She is still the best imho and the buffs your guys talk about would be stupid. Especially more blinks.
I'm not talking about buffing, but undoing the recent change that added the cooldown in the first place. It is unnecessary and adds literally no new ways to change the way in which you play Nurse, and in fact it limits you into playing her in a very specific way or pretty much hand the game to the survivors on a silver platter.
You can't mind game anymore because using your blinks for such things will punish you and let the survivor run away for free.
You can't traverse the map the same anymore because if you use 2 blinks you'll get punished when you do find a survivor.
Missing a blink in a chase now can mean the difference between starting the chase over again entirely and not even being able to find a survivor because of the stun and slowness of her walk speed.
Also this is coming from people with 300+ hours on Nurse who are very much used to her old playstyle. I preffered when it took skill to not only play her but also counter her. Before it was a skillful interaction between the Nurse and survivors, as they had to think about when and how they were going to try and break LOS or juke. Now you can just run in a straight line and get almost the exact same result as before with a braindead amount of thought.

I lost faith in BHVR when the pallet stun/flash light stun patch went live.The patch where if a killer was picking up someone it didn't matter when you dropped the pallet or flashed them. If they were there it registered. They took away all skill and made it so easy to stun someone during a pick up. They reverted it shortly after it released but seriously who the #@$% thought that was a good idea? Anyone who has put any decent amount of playtime(into both sides) could have told them at the drawing board "That will not $@%#ing work"
Now they made ruin super easy but I doubt they will revert that patch. Heaven forbid new players have to learn how to play.
Last off topic post for this thread but also notice how all the new player friendly changes just happen to only affect survivors? 👀

I probably phrased it poorly. I meant because of the nerf were seeing less nurses. Ive seen a lot of nurse players(before the nerf) that absolutely sucked without 4 blinks. They needed those add ons to be good with her. Now that those add ons are gone those bad nurses have moved on.
As for the devs ignoring the PTB. I honestly feel the PTB isnt for testing. They dont listen to anyones feedback. I really feel the PTB is just a way for them to prepare us for the incoming bullshit.
Yeah people who could only play her with certain addons should be playing a different killer, I can agree with that. No need to hurt those of us who don't though :(
Yeah when was the last time they had a PTB with feedback that actually made it to the live game? I literally cannot remember.
-
One reason I have against this is it would make finding totems so much easier since they'd all be glowing.
I like the idea and that's pretty much what Spirits hex is trying to do but on a more managable level.
-
The most evil of all is BHVR's balance team.

@EmpireWinner said:
she is still viable
Have I said anything about her viability? No.
This is purely about playing her and how fun she is to play. Think of it this way, when the game is literally throwing every single negative it has at you why would you want to play that? What's fun about getting double cooldowns and walking the slowest in the game in-between when it was like that so you could use your power to move but now that also punishes you?
There is very little if any fun to be had while playing Nurse regardless if you can still 4k every single game.
-
@EvilJoshy said:
I feel her nerf is a double edged sword.
There's less people using her because she isn't OP anymore. However this also makes the ones that were good with her without 4X blinks are able to stand out from the crowd.
As for the rework itself I feel they could have just touched her add ons and left her base kit. It feels really punishing now if you miss a blink.
This is a condradiction in logic.
If she was OP before because of 4 blinks then she didn't need the basekit nerf. If they had just done an addon pass you would still be able to see good Nurses that didn't require those addons, but now you need addons to even come close to the same performance as basekit Nurse before the changes.
Also, I and many others have suggested way better ways to touch her basekit and still keep her fun intact but BHVR ignored literally every suggestion, thread, and comment and went ahead and changed NOTHING about the PTB except for nerfing the 2 addons that people would actually want to use after the changes, and even then it was before they fixed the bug that made her cooldown happen sooner than intended and she was hell to play like that, let alone with it fixed.

CI gives the setup time certain killers need though...isn't that the only reason ruin was "required"?
Yes, you're right. But Ruin affected all gens and actually SLOWED the progress at which gens could be completed. CI doesn't do that, it just stops 3 gens from getting worked on and nothing else. It can help with set-up but it won't stop them from ending the game in 5 minutes anyways.
-
@Waffleyumboy said:

Hmm is that why they buffed Doc and didn't nerf CI?
CI is a perk that gets disabled after 2 minutes. The only difference between it and Ruin is you actually get the full 2 minutes out of CI.
Why do you have to sacrifice 1/4 of your perks to get a fair start of the game while survivors get 16 perks and only a few can even be disabled?
Also CI won't stop them from blazing through gens at lightning fast speeds, it just stops them from doing it on certain gens.
-

Hmm is that why they buffed Doc and didn't nerf CI?
I'd like to point out they didn't change Doc because he was weak or needed new tools.
He was changed because survivors didn't have fun against him.
This is a big distinction because while he was SLIGHTLY buffed (the no switching stances is about the only real tangibe buff) he was mostly changed to make survivors have a less frustrating time against him. Nothing was done to make playing him any better except for the stances.
-
They are nerfing killers in the top of the tier list, and they are taking perks designed to stop the 3 gens in 1st minute of game away without dealing with huge survivor issues.
Honestly, despite all of the issues in the game currently, if they just hit SWF and made it not a ######### NIGHTMARE to play against I would be ok with all the changes as of late. But they haven't. Still haven't. It's been Y E A R S and they are like 98% strong as they were the day it released after a bunch of review bombing.
-
The game won't be balanced until brand new survivors can take on rank 1 killers.
At least that's what it's looking like they want to do.
-
@dfrenchiee said:
I still play her occasionally because I miss playing her, but shes not the same.
Playing against good survivors who already knew how to counter old nurse is beyond frustrating and there is just no point in playing her. I can just play spirit and kill them without having to go through nearly the same amount of stress.
Her blink is more of a hindrance now than an actual power and the chases go on for way longer than they need to. They did my girl sally so dirty :-(
I've missed playing her so much. There's a drought of good games and while I don't know what I consider DBD, I know I at least had fun with Nurse.

@MrDardon said:

No, it still has a cooldown of 2 seconds. That's still a strict limit on what you can do, and doesn't reward or challenge people creatively, it just forces you to play her one specific way or get teabagged.

Its an actual bug. Sometimes the game takes your blink ability completely away. Making you a 96% speed M1 killer. In said bug you charge your blink, the Nurse does this weird spazzing out where it looks like she is charging 10 times a second (a bug implemented back in 2016), but now you can't finish charging, and you are just kinda stuck there. You can "cancel" the blinking by stopping holding down M2, but charging again won't solve the bug. Sometimes its only persistent for 1 or 2 blink circles, sometimes its up for the rest of the match.
A truly gamebreaking bug, completely ignored and forgottten by the developers.
Wow that is TRULY pathetic. Way to bust her kneecaps and just ignore her. Another Legion :(
@AtomP said:
The overall is because she is not fun. Stuns are not fun for killers. I don't know why the devs can't figure this out, but stuns are not fun. Nobody has fun getting stunned. Nurse gets stunned every time she uses her power. She is not fun to play, so she is not played.
Well I completely agree with you. Stuns in PVP games are G A R B A G E, but I've made many posts about that in other games (Overwatch, Smite, etc...) and the general consensus seems to be players either don't mind or actually like stuns. I can't figure out why making your opponent literally unable to play the game while you kill them and win is in any way fun but that's the evidence I've seen.
I guess having to actually outskill them is just too much for stun players ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also show me the footage of a survivor running str and a nurse not catching up.
And too your end point just cause she's not the strongest anymore doesn't mean she isn't still strong, she doesn't need help the lower tier killers do.
You can just play her. Most people now immediately start running in a straight line towards the nearest LOS break when a chase starts. Why? Because if you miss even one single blink a chase can be utterly and totally reset, if you can even find them again.
It used to take skill to juke Nurse and outplay her with LOS breaks. Now you can just run around a corner, wait for the blink and fatigue, then almost guarantee you get away.

No she doesn't, killers like billy and spirit have way better map pressure than this nurse. Old basekit nurse, yeah she had the best map pressure, but she doesn't now considering to actually get some form of map pressure you can only blink once to keep a blink for a chase.
Literally a survivor can outrun a nurse in a straight line without add ons. Imagine making the strongest killer in the game needing add ons in order to catch a survivor holding W in a straight line.
Spirit and Billy are stronger than the Nurse now.
Big brain survivor plays be running in a straight line occasionally switching directions around walls.
Such engaging gameplay it's hard to imagine why anyone plays any other killer ever.

ok i do agree with this, her nerf was too much and unneeded. i do think her basekit cooldown should be reverted only for the sake that it is so glitched right now that you cannot play a game with nurse without being stuck on one blink and unable to use the 2nd. also, nurse's movement speed should def increase, no reason to make it so low
Is that seriously a bug or just the extremely frustrating 99% charge scenario?
If it's a bug that's just sad. If it's the 99% thing well then it just reinforces how dumb and poorly thought out the changes were.

I literally just posted this on another thread but since it keeps coming up I hope someone who can do something about this reads it and agrees. The only people that still say she's top tier are either 1% of the actual nurses out there that have put over 1k hrs just in her or people that watch one of those top1% streamers and thinks if he can do it everyone can.
I've put myself ~300 hrs just on her, I'm a pretty good nurse and she is medium tier at best. She needed a nerf but she was way over nerfed. Now she has one of the lowest kill rates of any killer for both experienced and new players alike. Against any decent survivor almost any killer is better than nurse.
Ive suggested before that either:
a)remove or lower the cooldown for blink, maybe make the cool down reset both blinks instead of one per cool down.
b) Remove fatigue and leave everything else as is.
c) increase her base speed to 4.2-4.4 like hag/huntress/spirit or
d) give her 3-4 blinks and leave everything else as is.
Any ONE of these would put her back at the top or near the top tier without making her as OP as she once was.
Instead of parroting what I replied last time I'll just add another idea for ya:
cooldown doesn't pause when using power, or charges at a slower speed. Done. Much better and still requires managing but isn't so frustrating and eye gougingly unfun.

Where? from where do you get this? Because you cant play against her or because you've seen a streamer that has hrs played with her? Because I'll tell you where you haven't seen it, on the game. Ive posted this before but I'll repost it every time someone says she's OP or top tier. Im a good nurse, I play both killer and survivor at red ranks (not that it matters).
We all agree she needed a nerf but she was way over nerfed. Now she has one of the lowest kill rates of any killer for both experienced and new players alike.

I agree, if they must keep this abortion of a rework something that would at least make it playable is having 4 blinks in reserve even if you're only able to use 2 at a time. It would make it so much more bearable to play her and I might even reinstall the game again.

We've nerfed plenty of survivor perks as well, if time isn't a factor. Let's not forget that Sprint Burst used to have a 20 second cooldown and recharge mid-chase. Several nerfs later, you could still stack it with Lithe, Balanced Landing, and Dead Hard. Nowadays Exhaustion exists, and it doesn't cooldown while running at all.
Double pallets are gone, DS doesn't activate the first time you pick someone up, MoM has been massively toned down, instaheals are no more, instablinds are dead and gone, vacuums have lost their suck- the list goes on. There's changes to both sides, we're not picking favourites. Sometimes there's going to be changes that are great for you, sometimes the pendulum swings back the other way.
That's the problem though, even after years of nerfs SWF can still dominate almost any killer they go against. Hell, even a good group of solos can make the game hell for a good killer.

Maybe on PC but she is ABSOLUTE TRASH on console. Survivors can now outrun you anywhere and you get punished even more using her power. In red ranks you have zero room for error and zero time for all that blink fatigue and cooldown crap that adds up. You have to find them and blink to them first and by the time you get to the other side of the map with her you can kiss at least a gen or two goodbye. Even looking at her add ons it looks like the devs said "Sorry not sorry we nerfed Nurse. Here's some non-existent effects to make up for when survivors dance around you like a tether ball pole."
I love how the original pass was just for her addons to nerf the 2 strong combos and make her useless ones not be useless.
Now we have like 6 good ones and the rest are meh to literally just as useless as they were before the pass and now the base killer is god damn awful without 2 SPECIFIC COOLDOWN addons every. single. game. to even stand a chance at a modicum of fun. Honestly it makes my blood boil with how dirty they did her, but then I look at Legion mains and I see a group of people as hurt, if not more than Nurse mains, for an even longer period of time and he was never even A tier.

Her base kit was slightly op, it was unfair you could spam 2 blinks all the time, I think it's fine now. Yes, she is objectively worse in every aspect now, but that's fair given how strong she was even without addons. Plus new players get to spam Plaid Flannel which helps. That being said, the looking down while fatigued part is still annoying af and the most unfun part about Nurse. Doesn't make her less strong tho.
SPAMMING BLINKS =/= REWARD
HOW MANY TIMES CAN I REPEAT THIS
IF YOU SPAM BLINKS RANDOMLY YOU WILL NEVER HIT ANYONE, IT TAKES AIM, TIMING, AND PRECISION TO HIT SOMEONE WITH HER BLINKS.
Saying you can just spam her power and get rewarded for it is to say you've never played her in any serious game whatsoever.
I mean does spamming doctors shock willy nilly give you rewards? No, it doesn't and it hurts that killer infinitely less than it does Nurse to spam her power.

Yeah, the cooldown, dedicated servers, and the multitude of bugs ignored by the developers really make her unfun.
Only her add-ons were the problem. Her basekit was strong and offered counterplay. Now her counterplay is litterally just holding the W key.
B-b-b-but it's just 3 seconds!!!! There's no way a top tier killer has a counter of just running across the map in straight lines! Baka.
Like did anyone on the balance or dev team ever actually play Nurse for longer than 10 minutes outside of rank 20? It does not seem like it at all.

She has less map pressure than before but her chase and snowballing game are still absolute top class compared to all the other killers. Can't have all, y'know?
There were so many suggestions from players that play her like me that are 100x better than the mess we got of a "slight change"

not really, she's a strong killer and most veteran DBD players will agree that she's the best killer in dead by daylight right now. her mechanism of blinking to injure, wait for fatigue, then blink and down again is by far the most overpowered. no other killer can do this and sure, there have been some nerfs but she is definitely not in F tier. if you can't play her well, that's just you but her power is definitely really good especially against good survivors
Her fun is F tier, and that's the most important part. No one will play a character if it isn't fun.

I play her sometimes, and I use an Xbox One gamepad when playing DBD on my PC. From my experience she's just as good as she was before, but with a higher skill floor. I'm as mediorce with her now as I was before her rework.
I mean this is literally just 100% wrong.
They took away things, and gave her NOTHING. There is literally no new plays or mind games (infact her mind games are gone because guess what wasting a blink for faking is now 100x more disadvantageous than it was before) so there is LITERALLY no way to play her in a new or different way without addons. It is only, strictly, worse. Meaning her skill ceiling got lowered too.
If they added something new she could do that she couldn't before, then you'd be right. But you're not.

She is still pretty strong
I never said anything about her strength, just her fun factor. I have no doubts Nurse is still pretty strong, but why on Earth would you play a character that is designed to punish you every single step of the way? Before you got punished for bad plays or misreads, now you get punished for just using your power the way you're supposed to. Not fun in the S L I G H E S T.
