Pain resonance stacks well with pop because that 15% can save you the gen getting done and if you arrive before they recover the 15% you can then pop it and remove a total 40% very quickly wasting lots of their time, and if you manage to get another one you can do this process again, since there's no cooldown (thank the entity) you can constantly if you are in a good situation always remove 40% very quickly.
deadlock is great too not gonna lie, personally I have no interest in plaything, doing totems build aren't my thing but I can assume doing a totem build with it can be decent.
I genuinely do not believe the whole "devs hate killers" but if anything would tip me over it would be cool downs on scourge hooks.

I really like fingerless gloves. It's common enough I rarely have less than 20 and survivors never see it coming, but i agree if you haven't learned the base arc keep that turned off.
I usually use vhs and party bottle tho. Mostly because i think its funny. Bleach and corrosive when I'm sober....

You know that Survivor Meta perks only exist because they are counters to uncounterable tactics Killers use. Think about that for a sec, the only way to counter certain Killer tactics requires Survivors to equip a perk.
- Facecamping - Borrowed Time
- Tunneling-off-Hook - Decisive Strike
- Slugging - Unbreakable
If the developers actually gave survivors non-perk tools to counter those tactics, then survivors would start using different perks.
No, they wouldn't.
Survivors frequently use bt and ds to cover sloppy and poor plays. Why be stealthy towards a hook when the rescued survivor will just use the bt to bodyblock for you. Be as loud and obnoxious as you want if it backfires call the killer toxic and start another thread on the forums.
You have no idea how often camping or tunneling really just means someone is angry the killer didn't ignore the seven loud noise notifications and the glowing red scratch mark heading straight for the hook. Or that the killer didn't ignore the 2-3 survivors cuddle puddled under the hook healing. Or whatever dumb thing that was actually done.
Same goes for whatever argument about killers that usually gets tossed out. Swf is an excuse for losing, people use the perks they use because they are strong and they like them, not because they have to.

And some people think the Earth is flat, that doesn't make it scientifically correct.
So this post here largely reflects why these threads are not taken seriously.
If you are opposed to people behaving negatively then why would you respond this way. There are only two outcomes you can legitimately say you could have expected.
1) To shame them into silence so they'll stop disagreeing with you.
2) To antagonize them into starting a fight.
Which looks awfully hypocritical. Which happens in all of these pointless threads. The people who claim to oppose rude and or toxic behaviour quickly begin to use passive aggressiveness and or direct hostility to silence anyone who disagrees in a civil fashion or antagonize them into acting in a way similar to themselves. As well of course actively antagonizing already irritated people in the hopes of making them angrier.
Almost like these posts are heavily started and supported by people who would qualify as toxic themselves if they weren't the ones deciding what is and isn't toxic.
Which in itself is another common theme in these threads. Disagree with what is or isn't toxic, rude, or degrading will almost always result in immediate hostility. Once again, really making it seem like the point of the post has more to do with your own ego.

its a datamined fact. the trouble is there's a wave of new people getting forced into matches they shouldn't be due to the imbalance of players.
My point is how quickly any statement is attacked with mmr. In other words since I'm not upset with snowmen the only possible explanation is I've exclusively played people who've never played before since the event started no matter how many kills I get.
This of course is bull. Afterall if I said I was in high mmr would that have made me right and anyone else wrong?
-
Even with the grab survivors will rush the hook as loudly and obnoxiously as possible before screaming camping at the top of their lungs. Or my favourite hide badly and run circles around the hooked, because it's the killers job to walk away and let you get saved and healed instead of keeping two to three people off gens until one of them dies.
Kinda like when the unhooked runs straight into the killer and cries tunnel because it's unfair to have expected them to think or to maybe not bodyblock the rescuer.
If you want to avoid situations like these try playing better before asking for nerfs to other team.

I don't think killing as a Killer or escaping as a Survivor is toxic, even if the Killer camped/tunneled/slugged or if the Survivors were playing in a SWF
I dont think it's possible to convince people of this because then someone will just yell subjective and another will find another fifty words to say toxic.
Add in the frequency tunneling/camping/swf can be translated to "I lost and can't handle it, you must have played toxic" and every single one of these threads go the same way. As the ever increasing escalation hyperbole continues.
-
My kill rates haven't really changed either. Honestly I've just noticed an uptick in people just being... annoying.
By that I mean survivors rapid vaulting or chasing me clicking. I make a point to ignore them and if they don't stop I usually just throw the game so the other 2 people at least get to finish.

Just want to remind some of you that we can keep it civil without attacking each other.
I am legitimately curious to see if anyone has had a change of heart about tunneling & genuinely don't want the thread to be closed because people are in a deep disagreement.
Thanks community 💜
The problem I always see with these arguments is that we don't really have a clear definition of any of these words.
Its literally the boy who cried wolf. Same with swf. People who don't want to accept they got outplayed will shout these terms watering down their meaning.
So when someone says "tunneling is fine camping is fine" they quite often are saying "There's nothing wrong with downing an injured survivor if I come across them. I shouldn't have to just walk away when I know someone's there."
And yet, many times killers get called camper and tunneler even though they did nothing of the sort. Kinda like how any competent survivor group is obviously a swf.
This makes the arguments pointless, because there is very clearly no mutually shared understanding of these terms. Since killers who actually DO facecamp and legit tunnel don't care and frail survivors who can't handle losing don't care its likely not going to change since these people will always be the loudest. Since it's a game that means deep down most people really, truly, do not care anyway so... its...
Its... tiring...

I also scan the area, I dont need empathy to know what is going on. I still think empathy is only good if you want a medic build, otherwise, there's way better things to run.
Okay, you do you. I'm just saying some of us seem to do well with these perks instead of second chance perks. You seem to vehemently disagree. It's just kinda dumb to demand anyone who disagrees with you has to have video evidence. Only reason I spoke up to be honest.

Sure, but if I dont focus on gens who's gonna do them? My team mates that go down in 10 seconds? Maybe that dwight I got the other day with 10hours total?
When I am at a gen I look around. You only need to focus on it when a skill check comes up. Otherwise it's not hard to scan the area to be sure of you're surroundings. You can even catch the killer coming to you before spine chill if you got your eyes on.
With empathy this becomes ridiculously easy as you are immediately alerted to the killers presence regardless of who they go for you.

Empathy doesn't show the killer aura what?
Empathy shows injured survivors at a disgustingly huge range.
If you focus on something other then gens you can get a handle on what other teammates are doing and what that means for you.
It makes the killer basically always visible when combined with spine chill.

Those are pretty solid solo que perks. I'd probably swap dark sense for empathy tho. Pretty much makes killer visible at all times.

It wasn't doctor.
One was Wraith and one was Trapper. After they hooked me, they just stayed with about 10 to 15 meters of the hook and then when I was unhooked, they went directly after me, even when other players body blocked and took hits for me.
And it wasn't because the survivors were close to me either, I intentionally ran as far away from the other survivors as I could. I watched the survivors work a gen for a bit on the other side of the map, then run toward me after a bit. So the killer literally just waited around me so they could hook me again.
It's just not fun playing survivor when you don't get to play the game. It also sucks that you are forced to use a perk slot for DS, so you have something against proxy-tunneling-off-hook Killers.
Yeah that's not proxy tunneling... because proxy tunneling isn't real.
Proxy camping is when someone puts down traps to "camp" for them. This is particular with hag as her trap can summon her to the tripped glyph. It means using a proxy to camp for you.
No killer has the means to proxy tunnel. That would be like if legion could send out ai bots to chase for them.
That's just someone camping and possibly actual tunneling.

No, it's the proxy-tunneling making the game miserable for solo-survivors. I feel like I have to play sprint burst and decisive strike just to make sure the killer looses the game by proxy-tunneling me out of the game. 1st game I played yesterday, was tunneled out immediately (wasn't running sprint burst and decisive strike). 2nd game I wised up and ran both, which allowed me to run the killer 5 gens. He still tunneled me out of the game, but he lost at least.
What killer has a proxy to tunnel with. Like we're you just losing your crap at docs hallucinations? They don't even move.
-
I'm not having many of the problems yall seem to have with them. They usually amount to a free hit as the survivor tries jumping in mid chase and winds up on their ass.
I realize this means I must be at the very bottom mmr but I get a fair number of kills and rarely get none so.... I guess kills only contribute to mmr when it's good for an argument.
-
Yeah I get through more than half my matches as survivor and I play solo. Not as much as I'd like lately but low mmr is supposed to be worse so eh?
I think of the other players as my team until they are not. You need to be able to switch focus once you realize your other two teammates just went to say hi to basement bubbas chainsaw.
I've sacrificed myself to save good teammates and I've casually strolled out the gate in a snowman costume for potatoes. I don't always make the right choice. I can just do the best I can.

BT body blocking is a problem, BT is an anti tunnel perk, if you’re body blocking another survivor then you’re not being tunnelled. You should lose collision when under the effects of BT
Bt bodyblocking is only a problem because survivors will shout tunneling after doing it. Otherwise it's their perk they can use it how they want to.
-
My issue with tunneling is that it just seems like someone shouting swf to me. When someone genuinely tunnels it can suck, but frequently it's less the killer tunneled and more the survivor made poor decisions and the killer didn't ignore it to be 'nice'.
If you don't want to get tunneled try these few easy tips.
•Don't charge head first into the killer after an unhook. That's nice you have BT and or DS and all but you can't cry about tunneling when you stop the killer from hitting you're rescuer.
•Don't immediately head back to your last gen unless you're sure the killer is distracted.
•Don't heal under hook unless you're sure the killer is distracted.
•Don't try and blind the killer as they pick up you're rescuer from the ground.
•Don't just run off without thinking after an unhook, run with a plan.
•A long chase isn't tunneling. It's just a long chase.
If survivors could recognize when they make these mistakes I garuntee reports of tunneling would massively drop. Same with camping if we could show survivors how bad many of them are at being sneaky. I can see you behind the rock. I can see you're bright red scratch marks as you shift w at the hook. I can actively leave the hook to go patrol gens and if I see a wave of red scratch marks headed towards hook or, ya know, actually just see the other two survivors bolt towards it I'm not going to ignore it. Try stealth.

DS is only a meta perk because killers tunnel. If killers didn't tunnel people wouldnt run DS.
Also because survivors use ds and bt to bodyblock the killer when you get hook rescued because a survivor grinding their face in my crotch means I'm tunneling.
And you want survivors to be able to do that after both unhooks.
Base kit.
Wow.

Hello Good M. Cantelope. I also play in the PST timezone in North America. Every day. Sometimes all day. I see the same thing you do. in the morning, survivor wait time can be almost instant. At 6:30 AM, the Killers are quite good. They have fancy clothes and bring lots of gen progress perks and addons. They offer up sacrifice tokens or kill direct tokens. And I can't survive usually. By 7:30, it gets easier and I am no longer getting killers with russian and chinese names. It is survivors playing killers during this time of day from 7:30 - noon. At noon, some killers again start dressing up and bringing full set of perks / offerings. They are ruthless. Wait times are still short for survivor and instant for killers. At 3:pm, all the great killers get home from school and start killing. They are again good killers and usually successful. Survivor wait times are long until 7:PM. from 7:PM - 2:am, the wait times get shorter and shorter. It is only the ratio of survivor / killer that affects wait times.
I have about 75 friends. And from 3:PM to 7:PM, there are always about 15 playing. During other times, it is more like 5.
If you M. Cantelope, feel the game is survivor sided then I suggest bringing perks that slow down generator progress. There is one that locks out generators for 90 seconds. That is a long time. Also, start camping the hook more often. We cant resist unhooking. Down the hooked person again and kill them to leave only 3 survivors. We cant deal well with that. Bring starstruck to see survivor locations. Bring the offerings that show you survivors. If you cant get them, your match level will go down until you get less experienced survivors. Its just that. Time of day and you have been too successful and expect to continue with your success. When you start loosing, it is only temporary. Same thing happens on the survivor side. I get killed and killed and eventually get an easier killer. I dont believe there is a mass exodus of killers. It just is not happening. I play killer and this happens to me. I get flashlight cowboys for a while and then eventually they go away and I can catch people again. The only unbalanced thing in this game is peoples success expectations. If it is not fun for you, I understand. But many killers get 4 kills in my world. You act like we can bring gen parts and purple flashlights to every match. This is just not the case in my experience. Most survivors bring nothing at all. I have reached red 1 twice now so I do play a lot. The events only bring out more people.
No, I'm saying there has been objective shift in wait times and thebperson I responded to calling people crybabies doesn't change that. Everything else is you sticking words in my mouth.
Last time two people on this forum stuck words in my mouth they harassed me for three days. So if you're replies are going to be to just double down on the arguments you've decided I made for me I'm just gonna ignore you.

I've seen a lot of other people with the same experience as me and they seem to be EU. I'd like to see people from other servers with the same experience. EU definitely does not have a shortage of anything.
I live in western NA and their has been a pretty clear shift in que times for killer. I'm sorry you think I'm giving you a sob story and crying or whatever but the reality is I usually had to wait till after 7pm to get decent que times for killer. I can now get near instant ques pretty much the second I get home from work at 3pm and it remains consistent.
So, call me whatever insults you want. It has no effect on the objective fact I see whenever I play.

I heard his name and immediately thought it was a JTHM or Squee reference as the first name is just slightly off.
-
Easy steps to enjoying the game.
Step 1) Use the perks you want, ignore people who scream because they will never be happy.
Step 2) Play the game how you want. Wanna tunnel and camp? Fly at it. Just don't cheat or hold the game hostage.
Step 3) Survivors just fixed three gens in the first two minutes? Afk time! I usually watch bobs burgers when I've realized I've lost. I set myself up next to the gate, alt+tab, and just mouse over every so often to check if they have the gens done or not. When they do open the gate. You won't get reported because most survivors prefer these games.
Step 4) Remember that the rules people set for you are contradictory by design. Don't care what the person across from you considers a victory because their criteria can and frequently will change to exclude yours.
Once you realize these rules you are set! Have fun out there.
-
Depends on the gen placement. There are times you can patrol five gens incredibly easy and once the pallets in that area are gone it's just a death trap.
Other times the gens are placed in such a way you're better off taking your 1k and zoning out.
-
I find pairing both hooks is incredibly brutal, especially if survivors decide to hook trade.
I've gotten near completed gens down to half in seconds because survivors just wouldn't leave the gen and my scourge hook was so close.

I agree. The whole hitting a hooked survivor is noobish to me. All that does is rub it in and it's bad sportsmanship.
The screams really do get annoying to headache inducing if you wear headphones.
I can't speak for others but it's not a like a tactic thing it's just some of those screams... especially Steve's, after a few matches you just want them to stop. Especially when you have a match with two or more Steve's two or more times.
-
Starstruck/agitation/madgrit/lightborn essentially dissolves altruistic survivors. Especially in a basement situation where people try and crowd you on the steps.
Situational, but when it works it's beautiful. When it doesn't it sucks horribly.

Clown will only make it slower but it will not really stop them. You can also avoid it easy if he wants to trow it on you from the distance. He also needs to reload which slows him a lot.
Unless your in a wide open space a lot of people will turn to avoid it or run into an obstacle, or both. The chase can pretty much end right there, especially if your bottle hit their head. I also find hitting someone making a beeline off a building can buy you an extra second to catch up.
I've ended chases by just readying the bottle even. Clown also has add ons that make in chase reloads much less unreasonable. Especially if you pick your moments, I usually do it at pallet stand offs.

He very much said that in other responses earlier in the thread.
"No it's literally as easy as ignoring them. If it bothers you that much then go do something else while this is happening? Or perhaps find a hobby thay doesn't involve interacting with strangers?"
"Because it's laughable. If you can't ignore it like most people you should stop playing PvP games and stick to solo experiences. You clearly can't handle something as weak as a random person pressing a button at you so perhaps it's time to find something you do have enough resilience for."
I could go on.

No, I posted on a thread on a public forum expressing my opinion on a topic that I'm quite passionate about currently. The title of the thread has nothing to do with escalation.
My point was that the 'escalation' argument is a red-herring - rather than dealing with the actual topic at hand, he was tone policing.
All you are doing here is ad-homming and it's...sort of pointless.
You also do not seem to have read what I typed.
If you want to talk about this topic further, I'd be happy to. Otherwise, I'm not going to get baited into a silly internet insult fest.
No, you replied to a post that someone typed in direct response to another post and commented on it without understanding what was being commented on in the first place and laid out a heavy handed accusation.
You then proceeded to accuse the person of defending toxicity despite never having done that, going so far as to stick words in their mouth.
"it's...pretty odd to see someone saying 'if you are annoyed by teabagging in a game it's a you problem'"
He never said this or endorsed this. Only that escalating a comparison to such extremes isn't okay. Yet here you putting words in his mouth.
Once again. You either never read anything they typed, or you're a troll. Which one is it.
You're behaviour really seems like a troll who didn't expect me to be so blunt about it. If you want to turn tail that's your choice, but the fact you seem to do everything in your power to ignore the whole. Part where you accused him of something he didn't do really seems like your a troll who probably should have quit while they are ahead.

...What?
No, seriously, either you didn't phrase this correctly or I have no idea what you are trying to say here.
By this logic, we are both in agreement. We aren't.
Do you mean 'isn't blue it's green'?
In which case, that's silly. This isn't an a priori situation. It's a matter of opinion - we both have our stances and we are defending them.
That's the point.
You inserted yourself into an argument that two other people were having. The topic was that certain things are not okay to escalate comparisons to.
You then decided that because someone disagrees with teabagging being compared to serious and violent crimes, he must be defending im game toxicity as you put it.
He then said, repeatedly, that he wasn't and his argument was that the comparison was wrong, not that being a jerk is okay. You then proceeded to ignore that and repeatedly accuse him of it while becoming increasingly passive aggressive about it.
You now want to argue you both read what was typed and are not a troll.

It's...a pretty contentious topic that is getting a lot of play right now, likely due to the current influx of new players from Epic encountering this community for the first time.

I did.
He's trying to make a point that ingame harassment/rudeness isn't the same as IRL harassment/rudeness, and my response is basically 'duh, but I've never claimed that it was'.
No. He claimed that the escalation of comparisons had become inappropriate and you repeatedly accused him of defending in game toxicity.
Like. You trolled him good so bravo and all but wow. I can't believe you're still dragging this out.

Except that the issue being discussed isn't a semantic one. It's about videogame toxicity. Different words have different definitions in different contexts - and 'harassment' in a videogame might not perfectly fit with 'harassment' IRL. That doesn't mean it's not something worth trying to reduce.
And yes - it's whataboutism. You're raising a different issue (IRL harassment) rather than discussing what everyone else is. Whataboutism isn't necessarily about hypocrisy (and if you want to be technical, pointing out hypocrisy isn't whataboutism unless it's disingenuous - see below), and I was tired of saying 'red herring'.

And this is more the sort of whataboutism you are referring to. Note how nothing I said is being addressed, and instead he's trying to turn it around.
What is interesting is how someone did a complete 180 from defending ingame toxicity to accusing me of...I don't even know. Making him feel guilty?
Maybe you should read what he typed. Might clue you on to what he is saying.
