Even though it's strong it requires the killer to be good to get the full use of it. And it requires input and strategy. Ruin required nothing more than a perk slot.
-
The Unbound
-
I think that would make them even stronger. You could bring a key and a map that tracks the hatch, for instance.
-
New perk idea..
All Keyed Up
You have a 100/200/300% chance of finding a green key in chests. You become one with the key and it cannot be dropped or lost upon death. This perk requires 4 perk slots. The aura of your key is shown to the killer at all times.

Yeah I know but they would get tired of dealing with me real quick if there service wasn't up to par for gaming. Pinging things back and forth doesn't eat much internet so even at slower speeds gaming should be possible.
Agreed.

I live in a smallish town in the backwoods of Oklahoma. Nowhere near big enough to be any sort of city and I pay $80 a month for 150 MB cable internet. In fairness there is 1 other option here but it's ######### AT&T dsl (ewww). No idea how anyone in any major city in the US only has 1 option. Guess it's possible though. I do know that if my internet was so bad that it was crashing my game left and right I'd be hassling the hell out of my ISP till they got it lined out. Online gaming doesn't take insane speeds to work properly.
Many cities only have one option because a company will come in and make a contract with the town itself. The contract will make it so no competitors can serve customers in that city.

You’re still admitting that you believe that multiplayer and online gaming should only be played by those who can afford to. And yes, it is classist. Put on your critical thinking cap and think about it.
it is unfair and dishonest to lump people with internet beyond their control in with the sort who DELIBERATELY ruin matches by dcing for whatever petty salty reason. Guess what? You can keep believing in your small heart and mind that it’s poor people who should be punished for the dcs but the actual culprits - the salty bitter pathetic cowards who dc on purpose - will still dc or intentionally suicide.
The world doesn’t have to be unfair. Such edgy apathy only goes to show that you’re comfortable with the status quo, the rest be damned.
"You’re still admitting that you believe that multiplayer and online gaming should only be played by those who can afford to."
Yes. Of course. Video games are not a necessity.

It's 2020. Sorry you finally have to catch up

Yeah I thought it was weird when, after the reveal, there was big flashing text that said "THIS IS THE FINAL CHANGE TO TRAPPER. WE CONSIDER HIM S TIER NOW"

2/10 surprise
One small QoL adjustment extremely overhyped as a surprise.
It's welcome but it's like hearing that totems will break louder or something which doesn't really matter too much.
How is saying there's a small surprise overhyping it?

D+, which is basically what Trapper is now. Like going home with a hot lady, then she takes her teeth out and plops them in a cup of water. Sure, it has its uses for some folks, but was expecting something much, much better.
Interesting analogy. I too think of Trapper as a hot lady.

@Huntar said:
Anyone mind explaining what the surprise was for those of us who can't watch?
You no longer have to pick up a trap to reset it after a survivor disarms it or steps in it.

😅 It happens to the best of us.
Also.. aww "Pea." What an adorable nickname.

You're probably overthinking it. It's just a callback to the last time we had a SuRpRiSe (and it somehow turned into a meme for a while).
Is that when the surprise was just the reveal of all the upcoming cosmetics so you could get a jump on the data miners? 😉

glad we can agree on the semantics then.
So... I'm fairly certain OP would agree as well that keys can give a cheap win to (almost) the entire team. Now, do you have any IT comment on how to counter this?
I didn't realize you were a moderator.

Possibly. What word do you suggest instead of free :)?
Do you like cheap :)?
Yup. That word checks out in many situations with keys.

I'm not ignoring anything. You are ignoring the fact that completing the last generator is the most difficult part of the game, if the killer applied the correct strategy throughout the game, though :)
You do not understand the definition of the word free, then.
-
@Nobsyde said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1090032#Comment_1090032
4 survivors escaping through the hatch is probably not a free win (...but maybe you were trying an end game build, and in that case yes, it is), but what about 3 survivors escaping at 1 gen?
That's absolutely free, since when there's only one generator left the game is far from over, especially if the killer managed to secure 3 generators easy to patrol.
I guess if you ignore the fact that they did 4 gens, were able to survive and all found the hatch, then yes it's "free" lol.
I'm not saying keys don't need changes, but I think words need to be used correctly.
-
An entire team gets a free win? If all 4 survivors are alive when the hatch spawns then that means they did 5 gens. That's not a free win.

It is supposed to be one way to counter Kindred. If it is not, file a bug report. Kindred used to have a clause saying it overrode Killer stealth abilities. That clause is gone now.
Perks Insidious and Object of Obsession need reworks, IMO. Kind of opposites in a sense, but I think they encourage trolling play styles and aren't good for the health of the game.
-
I don't get a Pinhead vibe from that.. as much as I want him to be in the game. I'd love to be wrong!
-
So this is just a pure troll thread?

I guess I should have expected this treatment from certain elements of the dbd community. This is the same kind of mentality I see on end game chat much of the time "trash. git gud. ez. baby killer." etc. Nasty little kids picking on each other for no reason. Insulting someone doesn't make you better than them.
I'm not lying to you. You have no basis or right to assume that I am just because you have your own agenda with DC penalties. Believe whatever you want, but don't call me a liar when you don't even know me.
I never wrote that I had connection issues so why are you guys saying that? Everyone can read what I actually wrote. My game crashes regularly. That's what I wrote. I never said it's only recent. It's been that way for quite a while. When my game crashes I don't go on forums to complain about it. I just start the game up again and move on. A depip and bloodpoints isn't that big of a deal if you're playing as much as I am. You just try again.
The problem is I can't even play now. I'm being blocked by BHVR for their own bad code. And it adds insult to injury to be told I'm banned for something I did, when I haven't done anything wrong.
The thing is we do have a right to not believe you as you have provided zero evidence. And the kicker? You do not have a right, nor are you entitled to, a refund for a game you've played for 1500 hours. Move on, because it is not happening.

I prefer perks that can be used the entire match (mostly anyway) and aren't one use or have too many conditions that need to be met to use. And I like unique builds that are fun and synergize well.
Also it completely negates the trash talk like "Wow you need DS, Adrenaline and Unbreakable to win."

That's why it needs streamlining and not nerfing so that it's role as an anti tunnel perk is more exicit to players.
That's not streamlining, that's a nerf.

Go to any restaurant that isn't your standard chain, I guarantee the cook tastes what he makes before it hits your table. I don't expect the worker at Denny's to taste his food but that's why he works at Denny's
Do you really think chefs taste every single dish they make all day, every day?

No.

Not quite. If they were downed while you were on the hook then it won't deactivate DS. You must be off the hook. And someone must be
1: put into the dying state
2: put on a hook
All while you are NOT in the dying state. If you go into the dying state before BOTH of those conditions then you still get your DS.
Ahhh ok my bad, I didn't realize they needed to be both downed and hooked while your DS is active. That's much better IMO.
-
People suggest that DS nerf all the time but all it does is make killers with high mobility even stronger. Down someone new when you've already got someone on the hook? Just wait 5 seconds and that other person will be unhooked almost guaranteed. Boom hook the new person, activate BBQ and chainsaw/teleport/phase walk/blink right over to the newly unhooked survivor who is being healed or running away.
-
Oh and my point is.. you're toxic 😉
-
If I was playing with 3 friends or even solo with 3 strangers I would be yelling "Are you ######### kidding me?" every time they stepped in a trap. ESPECIALLY at the shack and at the exit gates. Like come on

You don't need to click anything you just need to walk around and the map automatically tracks things. For the green one use the add on that let's you track the killer's objects and you'll be done in the first minute or two of the match. I think the standard tracking range of the map is 8 meters.

So you going to just keep ignoring what im saying and not answer a valid point im making? You can be survivor SWF sided all you want but that doesn't change the fact that killers are facing SWF in every game they play, be it in 2 man or more per match.
You ask me to prove to you my side, yet you cannot prove other than "well devs said so". You probably watch Fox news too.
Yeah that's how arguments work. You can't just say whatever you want and pretend it's fact. It's funny you mention Fox News because they make up statistics just like you're doing.
I haven't even mentioned the dev data. I have no idea how accurate it is but I can say with absolute certainty that your claim that 100% of games having at least a 2 man swf is not true.
-
@MeatBycicle said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1077859#Comment_1077859
I am not saying a full 4 man SWF group, I am talking about in some way 2 or 3 man SWF groups. Devs already said in a blanket statement that SWF only accounts for a small percentage of games played. Yet every single game I play as killer there is at least a 2 man group, every single game.
I can almost guarantee you other killers experience the same daily. I rarely get a 4 man solo group if at all. So me saying that the stats are a lie are just that. The devs just do not want to post actual stats because of how imbalanced the state of the game is.
"Yet every single game I play as killer there is at least a 2 man group, every single game."
Please prove this. I would love to see you come up with something that says 100% of your games have at least a 2 man and you face 4 solos 0% of the time.
I'll wait.

@MeatBycicle said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1077851#Comment_1077851
Disprove my point then. Those "actual" stats are unbelievable by a majority of the community. You are agreeing that only a very small percentage of games are SWF and every other lobby is filled with 4 solo survivors?
Nobody has to disprove your point before you've proven it yourself. There's next to zero chance you face swf squads 90% of the time.
-
No, they don't.
-
@altruistic said:
They can on DBD mobile lolll
Yeah but you can't back out of a lobby on dbd mobile. At least, I've never been able to. Maybe that's just because they fill up so fast though
-
Tbh I think potentially being dodged is acceptable. It's completely reasonable to not want to play with someone running No Mither. Especially when the killer has Thanatophobia and it's that much easier to get stacks.
However, a possible compromise would be that, once dc penalties are in the game, make it so your teammates' builds are shown during the loading screen. Less ability to synergize, yes, but at least you get some knowledge going into the trial. And if someone really wants to dc at that point then they will suffer the dc penalty.
This is not really on topic but I also think in addition to dc penalties there should be rewards for not dcing. For instance, with less than 1-3 dcs within a certain period of time you receive a 10% boost to bp or exp gain.
-
There's also stealth killers and lockers. It's entirely possible that each time a generator is completed either the killer is in stealth, you are in a locker or you are looking in a different direction so you can't see the killer. This can be fixed by giving the obsession a unique sound that plays when the killer's aura is revealed, like Alert does. (Actually I haven't played against Rancor in a while, is there a sound?)
-
There's a new accessory for ps4 controllers you can attach that adds two more triggers to the back of the controller. Would be cool if we could assign different actions to those
