Round 7 of uploading clips I believe. That should be around 22 now with the bonus clip of a nemesis play I got. I got robbed of distance twice in the same game. one was an insta down practically. I did not expect my game to freeze for a good 5 seconds while going through the bloodweb as nemesis. what a time
EDIT: I just realized I somehow missed uploading a meme to my channel and pasting it here. both videos were right next to each other. I refreshed my page and saw that it wasn't the nemesis clip. At this point I'll just leave it there. Last time I upload near 3am.
Rewatching these clips and the fact you freeze yet killer is still moving is so frustrating. There's legit nothing you could've done to avoid that. Those freezes are complete game changers and it sucks.
I feel like in the games I've played survivors have started to either hide more or lead killers to others more as way to get out of chases quicker to avoid these freezes screwing them over. Not only are they ruining the experience but they're causing survivors to play in a way that makes solo/2swf an extra crappy time.

Ok I didn't know that, Behavior has a lot wrong with them if 2 zombies is bordering breaking their game. Especially when you can do a CoD with 80 people on the map, and PS3 had a game Mag back in the day that had 64 players on a map before thought possible in 2010. Assuming what you're saying is correct
A dev literally said in the ptb feedback that they could not do more than 2 zombies due to performance issues when people asked about having add-ons to increase number of zombies.
-
Daily FNAF posts are big reason why so many are against it. They are obnoxious.

The OP isn't wrong, although it has become an exploit for trolls.
I have been working on my killer levels, and have made it to rank 12 recently, and I would say that out of 10 matches 4 to 5 of them are DC for hatch. Not really sure other than bullying and abusing killers this gives players, but since they removed the DC penalty it happens a lot. And it is happen before the first hook could even happen. This is actually taking points away from killers, my last game last night I had one with 1 Anniversary Cake (from me of course) I received 23k Blood points and the person that got hatch got 32k Blood points. the game was over in 10 minutes if that.
These players feel empowered to do this because of no penalty, I understand instability issues, but can you not work on husking, or perhaps a system if the killer runs into this they receive the remaining hook bonus to sacrifice and the Sacrifice points for the player that DCed. And for players should receive a 10k bonus at the end of the match if 10k blood points have not been awarded. I would prefer Husking like you guys do in your mobile game, it would be easier to implement, and many online Multiplayer games do this already. have their difficulty set from Easy -Moderate - Veteran - Pro skill level they will never be as good as players but should represent a challenge even for the killer.
This DCing issue is out of hand, I am seeing it happen in I would estimate 80% of my matches either as Survivor or killer, and it is creating a environment in which players don't want to play the game anymore, hell this game has probably one of the most Toxic player bases I have seen in an competitive online game in a long time and now that you are just allowing people to nix out of a match it is become tremendously more toxic.
please fix this soon
They just added 2 AI zombies and reason they can't do more is because it would impact performance in the game too much. Adding bots for DCs won't be a thing for some time when more than 2 AI zombies is too much.
The DC penalties will be back once they fix the performance issues they caused with RE chapter that has players on console and some PC crashing out of the game. Currently they have "some" fixes in place for the mid-chapter patch that will hopefully be out at end of month at the earliest. If that doesn't fix the crashes will probably be longer.

Not sure about Xbox, but with PS4 and PS5 it just seems to be frame drop issues. Haven't experienced any crashes as of yet
PS4 players are definitely experiencing crashes. I'm on ps4 with crossplay off so I know all the players are also on ps4. I've had tons of killers DC in the middle of hooking someone when they are winning, have full stack of BBQ, and played a cake - no way are they just like, "I'm gonna DC now and not get my points."
-
I'll be positive when they make good on their promise to optimize the game for the ps4, Xbox1, and switch players.

I'm bummed because it means there's an extra week to wait until the next Tome starts, which rumours say is *finally* about my mana Jake.
Usually they release the next Tome with the mid-chapter patch. Extending the time on this tome one week isn't going to delay the release of the next tome since 3 weeks after PTB closes is Aug 3.
-
They capped at 9k shards total for the event. Once you reached 9k you stopped getting shards when you logged in.
-
A protection hit is when a survivor takes a hit near an injured/downed player. If everyone is healthy then no one is taking a protection hit.
*Edit to add survivors also need to be within certain distance near injured survivor, too far away and it won't be considered a protection hit.
-
Until performance issues are fixed we haven't won anything.
-
Only original characters and only the actual first unlock where you get the crown.
-
Pallets, vaulting, and lockers are "actions" while healing, repairing, disarming traps, unhooking, etc. are "interactions." Default they are set to the same button but you can definitely change them to be different buttons, I did it myself after too many pallet drops when I wanted to heal or vice versa. You'll need to change either your "pick up item/interactions" button or "actions" button under survivor controls.

This is possibly the lamest response I’ve seen on this thread
They just want attention and are trying to bait out an argument. Say ridiculous things and get people to respond, maybe get some heated enough to have post closed. 🙄
-
Played few matches with my swf teammate, I was running blast mine. Anytime the killer went to kick the gen my game would freeze pretty hard. I wouldn't even be near the gen when it happened, I'd see the scoring event after the freeze that I blinded the killer. I should've asked my swf teammate if he noticed if his game froze too but I didn't think of it.
-
Probably just bait, best to ignore it.
-
DC penalties were turned off because of all the crashes thanks to the RE chapter. So some are legit game crashes and others are players taking advantage of there being no penalty right now.

By the way, @Not_Queen said if its an EAC Ban, How do you contact EAC directly? Given its EAC who banned me when I didn't use any program(except discord) when I play this game?
Just Google "eac ban appeal" and this is the very first link that comes up: https://www.easy.ac/en-us/support/game/contact/appeal/
-
@PanicSquid said:
Nope, it is not bannable. Holding the game hostage would be a situation where the game cannot come to an end. Such as if you managed to trap all living survivors in a room with one doorway, then blocked the doorway. The game would go on indefinitely or until people dc out.
But it is rude to slug everyone to death.
Holding just one survivor in a corner would be holding that survivors game hostage even if game will eventually end because other survivors complete gens and leave. Killer would be banned for griefing. Mods have confirmed this multiple times.
-
If you're prolonging the bleed out (down survivor, pick up, drop until free, down again, repeat until they finally bleedout so instead of just 4 minutes it's like 15 minutes) that would be considered griefing and can be bannable - similar to the old mori spam being bannable because it would prolong bleedout.
Slugging all survivors where they'll bleedout in 4 minutes would not be bannable, it's just unfun and considered a jerk move.
-
Yes. The shards capped at 9k so once you redeemed them all the log in rewards stopped. Pretty much they had them timed to stop once PTB started, probably so people didn't have to worry about missing out if they participated in PTB.
-
I've had same issue for awhile. Any that I only have tier 3 left to unlock I only get 3 perks to unlock instead of 4. Have had couple bloodwebs only give me 2 perks when I have more than 2 left to get to tier 3.

Canned pineapple is bad on pizza but canned pineapple is gross on its own too.
Fresh pineapple is delicious on pizza. Pineapple, Buffalo chicken, and bacon pizza is so good.
-
I had a Wraith face camp me and hit me on the hook because I was running flash bang and blast mine. I was only using Flashbang when I would be in a chase with him but he REALLY didn't like it.

1. Have all perks available on shrine for shards with weekly "deals" on select perks for discounted shard price. Licensed character perks could only be available in the "weekly deal" section of there is something in licensing agreement that would prevent them from always being available.
2. All single category BP offerings changed to all categories at 25%/50%/75%/100% increased BP.
3. Remove Fog offerings.
4. Either rework luck to do something more than increase chance to unhook yourself or remove entirely.
5. Option to turn off the "you're at level 50, you can update your character", also remove it entirely from appearing if p3 50.
6. Give all players a DBD ID as the gamertag you see in game. Remove ability to go into players profiles. This will stop players from harassing other post game, killer/survivor on same platforms messaging before match to team up, make it easier for players that are not on same platform to report another without confusion of what to do, removes gamertags from streams so salty streamers can't send viewers to harass them, and stops lobby dodging if seeing streamer name in lobby.
7. End game screen show players emblems instead of BP, or atleast in addition to BP.
8. Remove slightly, moderately, considerably, and tremondously - replace with actual number.
9. Add option to increase bleed out if left on ground long enough to have a crow. If left on ground long enough to reach 3 crows allow survivor to die on spot.
10. EGC remove the sacrifice. Any survivors that don't leave before timer is up get 0 escape points, killer gets 0 additional sacrifice points. Game just ends, no one wins/loses.

Perhaps, but I'm much too cynical at this point.
I've heard and seen enough from BHVR to seriously doubt what they say.
In essence, I'll believe it when I see it
Perfectly worded, I feel the same.

The maximum amount of shards was 9k, I believe those have now been reached.

PTB half go in wanting to goof around while other half go in wanting to take it seriously - DCs because match isn't what they want in PTB and there's no penalty.
-
I'd be fine with them just making all the perks available for shards. At this point there's just so many and it'd help new players if all the perks available to be bought with shards or large amount of BP. Maybe have weekly "deal" where certain perks are available for discounted shard/BP price.

Early game collapse; yes they do
They say they're "looking into" something if they're only just starting the discussion or looking process.
Also, Optimization 2018 😬
-
Sony expects 70% of playstation store sales this financial year to be from ps4. The head of Playstation Studios said "You can’t build a community of over 110 million PS4 owners and then just walk away from it, right? I think that’d be bad news for fans of PS4, and frankly not very good business." Maybe they're stopping for Xbox 1 but Sony is still planning on releasing new games to ps4 for some time still.
-
Like most things DBD they just suck at communication. Pretty much they're going to give away all the cosmetics, they're just releasing them when they want but saying it's based on the community collecting crowns.
-
Can't wait to see this make its way to DBD twitter.

Continue to suffer.
I shouldn't have to pay 150 USD to make a 5 year old game playable.
This.
At this point I really only hop on if my swf teammate wants to play. I might play a killer round or two to bust out a challenge but for the most part I just go play something else that actually works. No other game gives me issues and DBD isn't worth spending $100+ on equipment because the devs refuse to put time into optimization and making sure the game is playable on consoles - if anything that's more reason for me to not put time into DBD. I stopped putting money into DBD last summer after the Silent Hill chapter, once I do upgrade to ps5 I'm not even bothering installing DBD - with the way performance is getting worse and worse I'll probably completely stop playing DBD before I upgrade anyway.

Counterforce does not, by any means equal noed.
Noed - I don't have to meaningfully exceed at my primary objective until the end of the match where I could have a HUGE advantage.
Counterforce (or any totem perk) - I have to actively not pay attention to my primary objective to avoid a penalty for paying attention to my primary objective.
tbc - i don't dislike NOED, but the two are not one in the same.
Uh did you mean to comment to someone else? I posted a screen shot of someone saying Counterforce removes NOED, thought it was funny with it being posted 2 days before a post complaining about NOED.

Performance issues making game unplayable. This is the biggest of them all. Even if event was worth playing the performance issues are so bad that I can't enjoy the game and I also worry about dbd breaking my ps4 for me to even consider sucking it up to play during the event.
Killers being able to deny survivors crowns - this was complained about last year and devs did nothing to fix the issue. I've seen killers target survivors that are not licensed or already wearing cosmetic just to prevent survivor from being able to get crown. While the point was to prevent survivors from getting crown and suicide on hook because of past events now survivors are suiciding on hook or DCing because they figure they won't be escaping that match and should just move on to next match quicker in hopes they'll have better luck. Neither side should be able to prevent the other from receiving rewards in an event - when killers were limited to few event hooks in other events the devs made it so survivors couldn't sabo those hooks and prevent killers from their event reward. Requirements for cosmetics/BP should never be something that one side can prevent the other from receiving.
Because survivors need to escape with crown they are getting gens done as fast as possible to escape which leads to killers playing harder which leads to both sides trying for quickest match possible and that most times will end out being low BP even with cake offerings. Ultimately the matches are quick and unfun for either side.
Only 1-2 items/offerings per blood web. Bloodwebs should be filled with these not limited, especially on survivor side where there's multiple items along with offering.

I think we should all do a challenge: guess which page a dev will finally respond on this thread.
As long as band aid fixes keep being suggested Devs won't respond because obviously people just need to stop background recording so they can't send proof down for reports OR share their crappy performance issues and they should spend $100 on random equipment that may/may not work but will be $100 less towards savings to upgrade to new console once available - these solutions remove devs from having to address or put effort into fixing performance issues on their end. 🙄
-
After first day grinding through performance issues and both sides playing for lowest points I stopped playing. I log in for the daily shards and then go play something else.
-
$100 just to play DBD? No way. Put that money aside and save up for when you finally upgrade to a ps5.
-
I just want to point out that if BHVR encourages the turning off/removing recording of gameplay as band aid fix for poor optimization this will make it so players are left without sufficient proof when it comes to providing video evidence in reporting other players.

I forgot that since you had no issues, that means nobody else did either.
@OniWantsYourMacaroni aren't you on Ps4?
I am also on ps4. Performance issues have been around for some time now, the RE chapter just made them insanely worse.
Here's the post from LAST summer started by a PS4 player and commented on by many fellow PS4 players, as well as xbox, about performance issues being an issue and only getting worse.

UPDATE #2 (SEPTEMBER 1)
@MandyTalk posted this reply:
"If you don't keep this thread on topic, it will be closed.
When we have information we will post it."
So here's asking to all the new comers: please, don't spam and remain in-topic as much as possible. The new patch is almost here and it would be a shame to not have this topic ready to discuss if and what changed. Thank you guys!
UPDATE #1 (August 28)
Q: did BHVR acknowledge the consoles problem?
A: NO. The only thing that BHVR did in this topic was to say, and I quote from @PatBrutal, "Just so you know, we've shared the thread with the team and they're going to take a look at it."
The reply from Pat was on August 13th, and since then we haven't received any update on the matter. We currently don't know:
- if the Dev Team actually did read the post
- if they understand there is a frame rate problem
- if they are willing to work on the problem
- if they are able to work on the problem
- if the problem has any priority over other work
- if yes at all of the above: when the issues are expected to be resolved
Aside for the (non existent) public communications here on the forum, today there has been a tweet from the DbD official account that states as follow:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/LNGBR0C61IDY/image.png
notice the post is not talking about any improvement over the current fps on console, just that they apparently acknowledge console need special care for the graphical update.
if BHVR should ever decide to give any new public statement on the matter, it will be posted as a new update.
-----------------
ORIGINAL POST (august 5)
There are plenty of feedback on the optimization sub board but I don't see any reply from BHVR, so, once again:
are you aware that fps on console (PS4, at least) degraded A LOT since 4.1.0 when playing as killer?
Here, I'll post you a video from today on Hawkins, it's basically a slide show every time a survivor is on screen.
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/701472489
(if it doesn't open: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/701472489)
as a comparison, here's the same map (different killer, but trust me, it's not the Oni the problem), but from one month ago
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/665197944
(again: direct link is https://www.twitch.tv/videos/665197944)
The frame rate obviously is still far from optimal, but it's a great deal better than how it is now.
Can you, @Peanits , @Almo or whoever else at least say "yes, we know, expect a fix soon / buy a pc you filthy console peasant"?
EDIT: bonus video - Hillbilly on a very open (and not very elaborate, polygonally speaking?) map.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xvi3tYBSOA
The framerate is certainly better than on Hawkins, but as you can see every time there's a chase, maybe at T-L walls, everything goes south.
-
After reporting in game send video here because teaming with killer is bannable.
-
I don't mind silent bell, I actually kinda like the silent bell because regular bell gets annoying. I think because so many use the silent bell in my game I'm pretty used to it.
Since his base kit speed increased the aura reading addons have become much rougher to go against.
-
Cause and effect. Killers playing harder to prevent crowns, survivors playing harder to escape quickly, killers playing even harder to get kills faster, survivors getting into swf that plays harder to have better shot at escape...
They should've made crown requirement be 10k BP for both sides instead of one side being able to prevent the other. Maybe then both sides would chill out a bit.
