  • My guess is this is how it will pan out

first 2 weeks of patch people are diligent and cleansing any hex totem they see

next week survivors complain up a storm about hex undying + devour because they have become to lazy to cleanse totems anymore and complain that it takes too much time from the main objective

Survivor complaints pile up for the next 6 weeks

ptb rolls around with undying nerf or devour nerf

  • @Mooks said:

It never was the officially the 2nd anyways so there was no delay.

Looking back at the last 4 ptbs , ptb drops 3 weeks before the midchapter or chapter, then the midchapter or chapter follows 3 weeks after, so technically it could be considered delayed if it didn't follow this schedule even if its not set in stone set in wood isn't anything to scoff at

  • I mean, most of there powers are just broken, survivor goes for a save, drive by and insta down the unhooker, survivor exists near windows, fast vault them at the same speed and remove their loops, enduring at pallets will be brutally efficient because they either drop it and you vault it or they stun you then you vault it anyway

So we're using two different metrics here.

I'd only consider the third group there m1 Killers.

    yes

You don't define Spirit or Nurse as an M1 Killer because they use their powers proactively in the chase. If a Killer cannot use their power in the chase, they are an M1 Killer.

Thats what im currently doing though

    Differences

Nurse uses m2 in a chase then hits an m1 basic attack post blink

Blight uses m2 in a chase then hits a lethal rush which doesn't count as a basic attack

My list for are they an m1 killer

Does their power count as an alternative attack that can down survivors (this makes them not m1) Example Blight, Oni, Bubba

Does their power count as a basic attack and can down survivors (this makes them m1) Example Nurse, Spirit, Hag

Does their power not down survivor so they are forced to use basic attacks (this makes them m1) Example Legion, Vile Purge, Myers

No one would say, while describing these 3 Killers, "they are an M1 Killer". That's comparing Wraith and Legion to Nurse and Spirit, YOU CAN'T.

They can't inflict damage with their M2s, but that's not the qualification most people use.

    Wraith, Spirit, Nurse, Hag

All 4 of these killers attacks activate basic attack perks

Sloppy Butcher, Save the best for last (except nurse because blink fatigue overtakes weapon wipe), Surge

They physically can't do a special attack that operates outside of these perks

For example demo saving stacks with shred, spirit can't save stacks with phase walk

  • All of their attacks count as basic attacks they are m1 killers

A perk isn’t a counter and stealth is a counter to any killer

Then why do you want iron will to be a counter

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1901970#Comment_1901970

Seriously? It takes 5 minutes to test this and you refuse because you know your wrong?

Prove someone on the internet wrong on your own time I got games to play

  • Adjust nearly all perks, addons and offerings

    and clean up survivor bloodweb

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1901938#Comment_1901938

Wraith still gives footsteps and loud growling as well as burning sound while unclog king so that’s wrong

spirit does give info when it isn’t really needed

Unneeded info is still info which means you have something to counterplay off of

or just use spinechill and stealth

  • @ALostPuppy said:

Just look up any survivor vs Spirit video on YouTube or play some survivor yourself. She doesn't move grass when she walks through it.

Nah, if you want to prove me wrong do it with your own research, I'm not doing it for you because it would be a waste of time if I was right. If you want to prove someone that they were wrong on the internet you have to do it yourself. Until then I'm going to keep believing what I currently do which is that spirit moves grass as she phases through it.

Otherwise until that point I guess well just have to agree to disagree

  • @ALostPuppy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1901847#Comment_1901847

Would be a neat counter to the Spirit if she moved grass while phasing.

    Which she doesn't.

    Sauce?

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1901922#Comment_1901922

Those are really specific interactions which rarely happen. To do these things you have to sacrifice addons or even a whole build to do so. Spirit by her flawed design is the only killer to do this normally which imo is unhealthy for the game

Sacrifice a whole build to do so

I don't know about that one chief

    Single addon for wraith

2 addons and a perk for nurse thats still a good build with 30 meter blink range and 24 meter terror radius

Normally Wraith only has his bell once he gets close for a 3 second uncloak which only the last 1.5 seconds have sound

Spirit has her phasing sounds outside of her terror radius which gives more reaction time than wraiths

but you don't see people complaining about the wraith

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1901914#Comment_1901914

These are all addon combos spirit by existing has no feedback. She even randomly passive phases which can throw you off rarely even spirit HERSELF doesn’t get feedback on this

So what, they would all lack feedback by existing in those states, do you only deal in absolutes when it specifically supports your flawed arguments

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1901889#Comment_1901889

Nurse has a sound and visual que for charging a blink

Wraith has a bell sound or a whoosh

ghostface doesn’t but he at least has footsteps and you can still see him

Blinks go through walls, technically it would only be a sound cue depending on range

stack a few perks and addons and tecnically you can blink at someone from outside of your terror radius with no blink charging sound

that both removes the sound queue and visual queue at that rnage

    Wraith has a Coxcombed Clapper

    ghostface has clever pathing

All of these can lack feedback in some way shape or form but it seems you just ignore it as long as it supports your argument just like you ignore counterplay against spirit that isn't chase counterplay while not specifically asking for chase counterplay against spirit

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1901855#Comment_1901855

Is that a core fundamental part of his power or just so addons that are supposed to change how his power functions?

"is the only killer of 22 KILLERS to not give feedback"

false other killers lack feedback as part of their basekit power and skill ceilings

stealth killers have undetectable to remove their terror radius (aka lacking part of their feedback survivors get)

and every killer that's not clown lacks a vaulting sound which gives no feedback to survivors when vaulting the window so the only way they can tell if you vault is by having los

also nurse can technically blink through walls removing the fundamental part of being able to see the killer for them to attack you so technically nurse is just spirit but slower speed faster power because you can't see her use her power

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1901852#Comment_1901852

But do they work? Have you tested these against a decent spirit before with stridor? I have and guess what it didn’t work

Implying that a killer main doesn't know the small things that pile up during a match that can reach a insurmountable level that would cause even strong killers to lose

I know a thing or two because ive seen a thing or two

heres another extra counter for you

don't hop of the first gen you see, works even better in swf, after the killer patrols your part of the map then get on the gen once they leave, if everyone does this you can get a gen or two done just by confusing the killer with stealth

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1901847#Comment_1901847

Spirit doesn’t move grass when phasing but that would be very cool. She has virtually no counter play in chase and is the only killer of 22 KILLERS to not give feedback on her power

False, hillbilly with the right addons can remove his entire terror radius and chainsaw sounds, + a line of sight blocked leads to twitch clips of people screaming of a point blank hillbilly out of nowhere

+stealth killers thats literally their power to remove feedback

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1901791#Comment_1901791

i don’t run it as I run off meta most the time so your point doesn’t make sense. But tell me besides audio bugs how to counter a spirit?

Literally gave you a list of how to counter every killer but most survivors like you are so focused on just trying to find some easy win button for each killer you literally ignore the 22 other ways to counter killers

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1901802#Comment_1901802

You see most of those are general killer counters I’m looking for spirit counters particularly in chases

Counter for a killer thats strong in a chase

    Don't get in a chase

Seriously use like some stealth to make them waste time and only take chases when you need to

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1901793#Comment_1901793

your eyes and prediction. If scratch marks aren’t supposed to be perfect tracking and stridor doesn’t help bugged sounds

So what your saying is survivors could also predict the killer and watch the grass using their eyes right

  • Splitting pressure, waiting for saves, using perks that promote teamwork in solo queue like kindred, playing swf, stacking more than one of sound reducing perks

heres an exaple of a build that stacks grunts of pain and still dominates in solo queue and swf especiall (Object, off the record, iron will, Either DH or DS for the last one)

Using stealth, not wasting time, knowing the killers faults like long cooldown after using the power for a long time, abusing the faults, play unpredictably, crouch mid phase walk to confuse the spirit to where you are because crouched grunts of pain are quieter

While none of them are win the game broken or particularly easy to use, pick a few and improve at them instead of complaining theres no easy counterplay and not using any of them

  • @indieeden7 said:

Okay, and what would counterplay to a killer that you can't see or hear be?

Okay and what would counterplay to a survivor you can't see or hear be, the inconsistent scratch marks or the breathing and footstep sounds that work only when they feel like it

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1901765#Comment_1901765

If you need stridor to play spirit I don’t know what to tell you

If you need iron will to not instantly die you just aint doing it right

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1901701#Comment_1901701

Yeah iron will could use a timer like lucky break but I still don’t like my only counter play to spirit being countered not that I run it anyway

You say only, I don't think that means what you think it means I think you mean your only counterplay that's simple enough to use while still being strong, maybe use some of the lesser counterplay but a lot of it to make up for not having just 1 strong counterplay option

  • @indieeden7 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1901721#Comment_1901721

Months ago when people were asking for a counter to Spirit, many people said "run Iron Will", so when people actually started doing that, Spirits just started using Stridor, making the only counter that any of those players could suggest useless. Essentially, Stridor negates Spirit's only form of counter and survivors are given no feedback on what a Spirit is doing or where she is by default. Asking Spirit players to avoid using Stridor is completely reasonable and that's coming from a Spirit main who refuses to use Stridor (you really don't need it, all you have to do is stop phasing when you stop seeing scratch marks).

What should I care what other people do and don't need,

Other people use iron will so often that I feel I need stridor to crush their counterplay

If they wanted to counter spirit they shouldn't have hoped for a one trick pony to solve all their problems and use general counterplays instead which while simple and not amazing on their own can add up to a win

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1901701#Comment_1901701

    This.

Expecting Killers to abide by made up rules and polite requests won't work if Survivors don't do the same. Use what you want. Sure, you can ask people not to use something, or tell them they can't, otherwise they're a "bad Killer", but if you or others don't do the same, then it's a pointless thing to suggest.

My favorite quotes are the "I Don't like my Iron will being useless"

like that's what its there for, its there for you so specifically your iron will is useless and as an average player I can play the game with sound

Whats the point of calling for a level playing field while using meta perks to prove your point, X strong perk doesn't work because X niche perk this is unfair

  • I will continue to use stridor when I play spirit because iron will is a boring perk to face so seeing it be useless in real time is food for the soul

  • Loved : Survivor who has 0 meta perks but is still rediculusly good at the game

Hated : Survivor with 4 meta perks that give them 8 second chances just to go down after 3 seconds of chase

  • Survivor

Killer has 22 individual powers to learn and master with each one more intricate than the last

Survivor has survivor, which is one thing to learn, sure it might take you 2x longer to learn it then a killer learning one killer, but thats just 2 killers by the time the killer barely has 10% of their roster down

  • I think he is fair, if you get in a position for him to hit more than one survivor in a chainsaw sweep that is your own doing and you deserve to have half or more of the team to go down

Hey so I'm still fairly new to this game, according to my switch I have just over 70ish hours

I have a few clarification questions / items I'd like any and all input on.

Okay - So the first item is decoding some of the leet speak on the forum so I can read the thread better:

What do the following terms mean?:

    BPS -

M1 - i assume this means meta or top teir

SWF - Survive with friends i think

    EGC -

    OoO -

NOED - I do beleive this one means "No One Escapes Death"

    BT -

DS - I also beleive this one is "Desisve Strike"

Also I play both sides Killer and Survivor and have some questions about each side.

    For Survivors:

What are some of the "meta" or "Top Teir" Perks or just generally good ones.

As far as I'm aware I know EITHER Sprint Burst or Dead Hard are good optinos, along with Kindred is nice. I see a lot of people using Self Care but it just seems like the heal takes FOREVER

    For Killers:

What are some of the "Meta or "Top Teir" Perks or just generally good ones:

As far as I'm aware: Hex: Ruin, And Undying are solid

Also I know Nurse is probably the best Killer but extremely hard to learn, tips on her would be very helpful and finally whats an easy killer to learn to play that performs fairly well so I can hopefully become a more confident killer.

Thanks for the read, as I said any info is very helpful and sorry for the long post.

BPS - Bloody Party Streamers a 100% bonus bp offering for all players both sides can get these in their bloodweb

M1 - A killer who only has basic attacks and can't down / injure people with special abilities, aka nurse attacks after blink are m1, but blight rushes are not basic attacks

    SWF - Survive with friends

    EGC - End Game collapse

    OoO - Object of obsession

NOED - No One Escapes Death

    BT - Borrowed time

    DS - Decisive Strike

    Top tier survivor perks

    BT

    DS

    Unbreakable

    Iron Will

Dead hard - or sprint burst (never both)

everything else is a little weaker or more niche perks

    Top Tier killer perks

BBQ, points and information to help you know where to go next

Sloppy Butcher some healing slowdown that is great on m1 killers

Corrupt Intervention blocks far gens at the start of the game

Save the best for last, a strong late game perk that is a m1 killers best friend (not nurses though she doesn't benefit)

PGTW (pop or pop goes the weasel) Regresses the next kicked gen by a lot after hooking a survivor

    Ruin Regresses gens automatically

Undying soon to be nerfed but moves another hex to a different dull totem when they are cleansed

Discordance, information when survivors work on a gen together

Whispers, information when you are near survivors

Nurses calling, information when you are near healing survivors

  • yes however a new totem will become a hex totem the next time a survivor is hooked if there is still a dull totem remaining on the map

  • Sure heres one

    Deafened survivor debuff

survivors can't hear killer noises except for their terror radius

    Aka

    no more trapper breathing

no more chase music when entering a chase (good for stealth killers)

no more hillbilly roar / chainsaw sounds

no more blight screeching and bumping sounds

everything becomes a lot more terrifying

two perks to go with it

    Hex: Deafening Silence

when you hook a survivor a dull totem on the map becomes a hex totem and they gain the deafened status effect

whenever you hook another survivor they also become deafed up to the last 2/3/4 hooked survivors

when this totem is cleansed lose all stacks

    Silent Death

whenever you injure the obsession all survivors become deafened for 40/50/60 seconds

this effect has a 40/50/60 second cooldown (same timer as make your choice where it countdown while active and can't be activated again to reset duration while active)

  • Its a glitch, groaning store house can randomly spawn with double pallets in its filler tiles

  • @gatsby said:

50% heal speed is too comparable to non-exhaustion perks; it feels weak. I feel like it wouldn't temp many people. Desperate Measures, We're Gonna Live Forever and We'll Make It can already exceed 50% healing bonuses.

The vault speed one makes sense. Stacking vault speeds could get ridiculous.

The action speed one feels extremely weak and hard to balance to me because Spine Chill and Resilience exist and could stack. Resilience with a med-kit so you can 99 the heal to keep a semi-permanent 9% action speed bonus seems much better especially in chase since it effects vaults. And its not even an exhaustion perk.

all of them still leave you permanently exhausted, don't work with each other, and vault speed bonuses don't stack

+ the healing one guaranteed gives 100% personal healing speed because you are exhausted so a medkit or self care make a devastating combo

  • Heres a probably closer to balanced version of these

Grants 50% healing speed bonus and 50% more if the person you are healing is exhausted

Grants 15% vault speed and pallet drop speed doesn't stack

Grants 5% action speed bonus (except vault speed)

  • My changes

Base movement speed to be 112.5% or 4.5 m/s

Traps within 8 meters of hook can't be activated while a survivor is hooked and for 2 seconds after

Mint rag : Cooldown stays at 15 seconds but can teleport to any trap at any range

Waterlogged shoe: rarity decreased to very rare, still increases speed by 2.5% or to 4.6 m/s hindered effect lasts for 5 seconds after leaving a traps range and shows aura outside of a chase

Rusty Shackles: rarity increased to ultra rare

Grandmas Heart: gives undetectable for 10 seconds whenever a phantasm trap is triggered

Scarred hand: Also increased movement speed by 2.5% stacks with waterlogged shoe

Disfigured ear: Survivors that trigger a phantasm trap see a Illusionary Red Stain and hear a Terror Radius as though The hag were right behind them for 20 seconds

  • @JPA said:

I think the trap carrying capacity buff is definitely needed, the amount of backtracking you need to make without any of his bag add ons is a joke, especially when you take into account just how precious a Killer's time is against an efficient team.

+ standardized amounts of traps on a map probably also helps, sometimes you only have 5 traps on a map including the ones you start with which can be a big drawback

there's a difference between writing creatively and making suggestions which are going to be ignored. i never said you physically can't enjoy writing down suggestions, but i'm just saying that bhvr couldn't give 2 shits. let me further back up this fact: it took them a year to add 2 QUALITY OF LIFE changes for trapper: resetting traps and an RNG change.

I can see you are going around busting chops today, i'm fine though I enjoy writing down my suggestions because it helps me practice to come up with better ones and increases my problem solving skills.

I think he chose to be rude to that one person not chose to be rude to an entire community of people
