Of course not. It just means you have WAY TOO MUCH time on your hands.

I really thought we'd have this one by now. Resident Evil 4 is like the most popular RE game in existence isn't it?! We want the Chainsaw Man himself from RE 4 to get a place in DBD through a skin similar to Berkin on Blight and Hunk on Legion!
This is one of those skins that I really hope we get in DBD one day as to me, it just makes too much sense.
Hopefully they would use his newest look! The RE4 Remake made him look scary AF! Lets get this over Hillbilly! Just like the Crypt TV skins over Hag, Doctor, and Huntress, it wouldn't have to be an exact 1 to 1. Dr. Salvador over Hillbilly would still have Billy's trusty hammer, but I'm sure that wouldn't be a big deal. They could even add a different voice if they wanted to so he sounds a bit different. It wouldn't be necessary though.

Well that’s literally never going to happen because it was “uncounterable” and survivors couldn’t react in time

that’s a double edged sword. The old slinger ADS speed was very unhealthy since it was a guarantee hit through a window or pallet, also it would make slingers that zone WAY more oppressive since you can slightly tap the ads button and you’d be instantly done with the ads animation ready to shoot. Bringing back the fast ADS would make slingers the next chucky, Very Very good anti loop but horrible map pressure. Survivors hate when the killer has an overbearingly oppressive chase ability that almost has 0 counterplay. If we’ve learned anything from skull merchant, chucky and xeno is if the killer has a very annoying and very little counterplay chase ability then they’ll get complained about enough to the point where the devs will inevitably gut them. I don’t think you’d want slinger to be the next one on the chop list.
We may never get the old ADS back, but I'd still like it to be faster than what it is now. Find a middle ground.
-
Let Killers "lunge attack" through them. Would be much more immersive..instead of clipping into position at any angle then slowly breaking them..
-
No thanks. I'd rather have a faster ADS.
-
I'm sitting at 34 million currently. There are no caps on me.
-
Just reduce the radius. Don't gut another Killer perk…
-
The bar shouldn't pause if Survivors are near.. BHVR expecting new players to be psychic and know that it pauses the bar ruins the whole mechanic..
-
Make Deja Vu and Kindred base kit for solo Q and put Gens back to 90s. Done. Not going to comment on how it would buff SWF. I mean BHVR never mention it so why even bother..
-
Yep. It feels like DBD has THE lowest avg IQ players out of any game I've ever played.. Not joking..
-
100% agree! Why is slow Killer internet speed allowed to ruin the experience for everyone else…? That's just stupid.
-
Springtrap is all we need.
-
Yeah characters like Trickster, Skull Merchant, and Tokyo Ghoul really throw me out of the "horror" vibe.. Most people I'm close to thought Trickster was the dumbest thing they'd ever seen. I think he looks kind of sinister, but that doesn't get him around how niche of an idea he is. A K Pop Killer? I mean…sure.. You can even watch reactions to DBD Killer trailers from fans and non fans alike..and most people don't seem to take the Trickster trailer. seriously at all outside of the audience it was intended for. Even Skull Merchant's trailer seems to get more praise.
I do think Skull Merchant is an abomination of a character design in every sense of the word. Even the name sucks. Someone was trying WAY TOO hard to have a unique idea, but it comes off as a discount bin concept.. Very underwhelming. I'm fine with anime licenses as well, but when you can't do them justice why even bother..? Tokyo Ghoul is just another Killer that will be conceptually underwhelming due to DBD's engine/code limitations, similar to Alien, Nemesis, and even Dracula.
-
Agreed! Get rid of them! All they do is make it harder for new players to learn the maps..
-
It should already be in the game. Just exclude new releases and there you go. With 30 something Killers is it REALLY that big of a deal?
-
@Pulsar said:
What other posters here do not seem to account for is that this is likely not the first strike in these players' minds.
Yes, there are some people that will DC for nothing, but they are the VAST minority. Most people hop on to try to play some DBD and are met with frustrating match after frustrating match.
That causes burnout over time. Matches where you feel it was unfair or got tunneled or got camped or got slugged AND you don't get anything more than a paltry smattering of points for your efforts in being a good sport and playing them out, well, those matches add up until you eventually get something like this. All we see is someone raging after being downed, but that's all WE can see, not all that they've experienced.
A good start is addressing some problematic mechanics, true. I think they need to look at rewards for Survivors as well and scrap the MMR system entirely. Survivors get such low BP in general, which is a real kick-while-your-down when you just endured a whole bunch of miserable matches. Imo, BP cap should go, and max BP should be 64K for a perfect match. BP boosting offerings should be more common, BPS shouldn't be rarer than Syringes.
As for MMR, they either need to commit to the game being "competitive" and show us MMR or scrap it entirely and go back to an Emblem-esque system.
Here here! Get rid of that stupid BP cap… -_-

I would also love it so when around a turret let's say it's behind a wall in the RPD map for example and we are able to hear it like thr Xenomorph can in the movies and games. Also make it so you can go into crawler mode at will but make it so when crawling you can only use ur tail and standing makes it so you only use ur basic attack to help balance. Because I want Xeno to be fun not only for Survivor but also The Killer. @biggybiggybiggens
Yes exactly. If they ever let us switch forms at will, that's how they'd do it. You shouldn't be able to use the tail except when you crawl of course.
-
I agree. Make it so turrets have to be placed a certain distance apart at the least. Also make it so we can actually choose when to enter Crawler Mode. The fact that we are forced into Crawler Mode is stupid. I still say we should be able to have the freedom to use it when we want to..

I 100% agree it feels like they splurged all there budget on the tunnels and forgot to develop the rest of him.
i believe he was supposed to climb walls cause if you play him and go against a wall he as a strange animation that’s not seenhttps://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/ST9FE4ANFKDQ/img-3361.jpeg
when he goes up against a wall it looks like he’s trying to climb onto the wall but can’t. It seems it was a leftover of what he was supposed to be
Would've made much more sense for the Crawler Mode to be when he climbs walls instead of crawling out in the open for no reason… Aliens don't crawl unless they're in very tight spaces.. I don't remember seeing any Alien chase someone in the crawling pose. . Similar to Nemesis, it just feels like they missed the mark with this Killer..

I know that nightlight isn't the most reliable source on dbd data but just based on that xeno is in the top 5 least played killers and the least played license killer
1- Hag
2- Twins
3- Skull merchant
4- xenomorph
5-artist
Kind of shame xenomorph is even close to being at the same play level as twins, current merchant and hag. Granted I don't play xeno often as i would like to because personally i think he is the worst designed license in dbd and plays boringly but i still play him just because well its xeno. Darn Shame.
If they didn't force you to go into Crawler Mode, I'd play Xeno a lot more. That really bottlenecks my enjoyment of an otherwise cool Killer. Maybe one of these days Xenomorph can walk upright the entire match and we can use the M2 tail attack when we feel like it. Letting us use Crawler Mode at our own leisure would also incentivize Survivors to place the turrets in spots where the Alien is more likely to use the tail. (vaults/pallets) :/

Not surprising. This was one of the most controversial licenses due to the whole NFT thing as well as when BHVR first gave Pinhead that really bad sounding voice that the license holders didn't approve of. That's why Pinhead didn't have a voice for awhile if anyone didn't know that. The license holders basically told them to take out the voice that sounded like crap and wait until they have Doug Bradley do it properly. So yeah, they got in big trouble for that first voice that made Pinhead sound like a joke.
Now they just need to renegotiate with Clive Barker so we can get more Hellraiser content. We need Butterball and the Female Cenobite. (Deepthroat is her actual name) If we can't get the original Female Cenobite, maybe they can give us the new female Pinhead that is in the Hellraiser remake. -

I can see the "survivor stuck in first person the whole match after being pulled out of a locker with victor holding the doors" bug coming from a mile away lol
But aside from that i just think they could use a visual update. Like the fact that they are bright red boxes in a room full of dark objects makes them stand out too much and sometimes even draws the killers attention to check them.
Same. They do look really out of place. Especially on maps like Eerie of Crows, Haddonfield, and Swamp.. Maybe they can just alter them visually depending on the map. They don't have to be these big ugly red lockers for every map. Make them look like dirty cupboards on Haddonfield or metal fishing cabinets on the Swamp. It's not like people will not realize they're lockers. Same shape, same utility, just different visually to match the map even..

They're fine. Just practice looping and evading and you wont need to use them much.
The funny thing is, I never use lockers. They seem pretty useless when perks are not involved. Same as totems. Pallets work with or without perks. I'd like to see totems and lockers be useful without perks.
-
Just as the elements on each map are randomized, the maps themselves should always be randomized as well. Nobody should get to pick where the trials takes place. I don't even like the 20% chance BS. Make map offerings avoid a map instead.

I also believe that they do that effect in the survivors tutorial. It's a neat POV but the information you get by being third person in a locker is too beneficial to just scrap for a simple pov change. It looks cool but would inevitably frustrate players
Perhaps TOO beneficial? So maybe we can implement it to counter that information but make lockers a soundless safe spot? Idk, just trying to think of a way to put that in.. xD

It's interesting as in the very first DBD trailer with claudette hiding in the basement from Trapper, that POV was used, so I'm confused as to why it never ended up in the game… Would add more of a claustrophobic feel to the game at least.

Lockers shouldn't be buffed. Searching lockers are way too time consuming for killers. If you properly go into a locker without being close enough to the killer or leaving scratch marks near it, the odds of killers searching all the lockers in a vicinity is very unlikely unless your playing in low mmr. If lockers were to be buffed it would be too much of a detriment to the killer. If you want to prioritize anything in the game you can always design a build around it. Gens/Looping/Altruism and even lockers.
If youre smart about your locker use theyre still very good and useful
So would you be in favor of the immersion/making it harder for Survivor to see outside of the locker via 1st person perspective idea? With Head On being the old way to aim the stun?

They absolutely should should show loadouts in game, prolly in the pause menu where they show pings etc.
As for in the lobby I wish that always a thing from the very beginning. If it's added now, good luck doing adepts and tome challenges and such as the lobby dodging will at first soar, the. Most likely even out over time. But for example perks like No Mither will likely always cause dodging until that perk is updated.
I completely agree. You don't have to show them in the lobby, but IN GAME you should 100% see all of your teammates perks. If someone really wants to d/c upon seeing those, then let them. Put this feature in the game for new people please.
-
I agree with the change simply because it forces the pace of the game to be faster no matter what. Some matches of DBD still take WAY too long. The faster the games go, the sooner you can get to the next one.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/439207/dbd-has-no-hope-of-getting-balanced
I personally believe that BHVR's 1000+ employees all really like their job, really care about the game, and want to see it succeed. A big issue right now is that players are claiming balance problems out of anger because it vents frustration. I believe the target kill rate is 60%. The game is balanced around that kill rate—but player thoughts and feelings are definitely heard and considered.
I recommend watching this video from Scott Jund posted today. It might help change your perspective. We are a minority within a minority here—and what we are exposed to is a reflection of that. The developers see the big picture that includes everyone.
I say this all the time. The majority of us on the forums are just the LOUD minority. We don't speak for the other 80ish% of people and never will. We might THINK we do but just let us think we do. :P
It goes without saying that some of us like myself have known this while continuing to be passionate forum members. -

You're completely correct people saying BHVR are "Cooking" with this is i disagree with, the core issues of the game sucks doing 5 gens is boring as absolute dirt every gamemode is the same 2v8 is do gens with 2 killers, lights out is do gens but its dark, chaos shuffle is do gens but now your perks are random i'm not calling these gamemodes bad 2v8 is fun especially as killer but they don't change the core objective which is boring af at this point.
Another huge issue is the absolute disparity between high tiers and low tiers will a game with a big roster always have bad characters? Yeah of course but this is an assym game for one so the rules change and number two the perk system also changes the rules its literal night and day when you play Pig vs if you play Blight both of these characters can equip the same perks too. It's crazy that Nurse can equip 4 slowdown perks when a perkless addonless nurse is probably better than 90% of the killer roster already
It doesn't even have to be an F tier killer vs an A tier killer Pig vs someone like Demogorgon is a massive difference too walking across the map is so bloody boring and hitting a survivor and just holding forward because you have no way to catch up hoping they just screw up while gens fly is awful too it feels like you aren't even playing the game with some of the killers.
They're never going to change/add to that until they absolutely have to. I'd love for them to prove me wrong, but I feel 100% confident with that statement. Generators will be the only thing Survivors do for a LONG LONG LONG LONG…LONG…. LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG…LONG…. LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG…LONG…. LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG…LONG…. LONG LONG LONG LONG………. LONG..
….
…
..
……..
LONG….
Long time…
…:/
Seems like they don't have the guts to actually try anything new.
I agree with the saying, "If it isn't broke, DON'T fix it", but damn.. Some other side objective besides Generators would've been nice months ago… Until they see those daily/weekly/monthly players #'s drop though, we are not getting it..
-
Gee didn't see that coming… I'm still confused they needed a survey to know the majority wanted it extended. Seemed pretty obvious. The only people against it were the loud minority as usual.
-
I think people saying they're not doing it JUST because of FNAF are wrong. If the license we were getting was like Bioshock or Candyman, I'm telling you, these health changes would NOT be happening right before it. I'm sure they have a real good idea of how many more people FNAF is going to bring compared to when RE got in. This will BLOW RE out of the water imo. I wouldn't be surprised if the Steam Player Chart doubles what RE brought in. Anyone underselling FNAF is going to be in for quite a surprise. The age range FNAF reaches is much wider than RE unquestionably. Would they have done this supposed "health update" eventually? Sure but to say FNAF has nothing to do with it is ignorant.
-
Do they really need a Survey to see if people want 2v8 extended?.. -_0
-
No just give us a Mori with the Rocket Launcher, they're never going to add it to his power. More Zombies would be welcome though. I always felt in normal 1v4 mode, every Survivor that Nemesis kills turns into another Zombie. Couldn't be that hard to add in. Meanwhile in 2v8, just make it so the M2 tentacle infects AND injures on first hit. Fixed.

You are making a very valid point. Sometime in the last 90 days, Scott Jund said in one his videos that he doesn’t trust BHVR patch notes and doesn’t really care to read them because BHVR claim something has been fixed, when it really has not—or when bugs that were previously fixed come back. There’s a miscommunication somewhere and it has eroded trust in the information pipeline. All I can do is hope for the best. This game is important to me and I want it to stay around for as long as possible.
The game is very important to me too.. That's why I'm as hard on it as I am. I still feel that DBD is a shell of what it could be, but it CAN only go up from any point so long as the creators make the right decisions. Relying on them to do that has not be a very comforting journey.. Obviously I still have passion for DBD to be the best version of itself, otherwise I wouldn't ever get on the forums.

On a personal level, I disagree with complaining when someone/something is clearly trying to improve themselves. At a certain point, we have to give a sense of grace and a chance. How would you feel if someone was upset every time you tried to do something or fix an issue? It’s not very motivating to be told “you suck” every time you try to do something or make a difference.
The last chapter was dead on arrival. None of the Dead by Daylight content creators liked the killer, and I assume the statistics look bad across the board. Hens screaming “DOG, DOG, DOG” on the new Ormand map immediately comes to mind. To understand intent and motivation we shouldn’t look ahead—we should look backwards. I’m sure FNAF has something to do with it—but FNAF or not, the timeline stays the same. The new player experience needs to be polished. The game has not been growing. Clearing tech debt is the solution.
Almost the entire community is complaining about the game quality and how bugs are ruining matches. Just the other day, Otzdarva ended his entire stream because he had a serious bug that has been in the game for years, and the bug prevented him from using his killer’s power for the rest of the trial on Greenville Square. BHVR is acting on our feedback, and responding to criticism moving forward.
Let’s at least give them a chance.I agree to an extent, however when I'm a paying customer a lot of the lenient feelings go out the window. This time IF they actually fix anything, then I'll be grateful. Until that point though, I'll continue to have doubts, especially going off of things they've done in the past. It's never been the "idea" of changing, fixing, accomplishing anything positive for DBD by the dev team. Most people rightfully judge based on the "execution" of those changes, fixes, and accomplishments. Unfortunately for DBD, BHVR sucks at execution and nothing has changed that up to this point and for customers just the "thought" isn't what counts when we're paying for something. People want stuff done correctly, not done at a it could be better, it's fine for now, or mediocre level.
All we can do is sit and let things unfold to see what happens.
-
Time for BHVR to spend some of that Feng cosmetics money to get a better anti cheat then. Seems like the obvious answer. I wish they'd make their own like Riot did for Valorant. It's called Vanguard. Vanguard is an anti-cheat system used in Valorant, and it DOES incorporate AI modules to help detect cheating behaviors, although the exact details of how they are implemented are not publicly disclosed by Riot Games; this allows the system to analyze complex gameplay patterns and identify potential cheating more effectively.
DBD would benefit a whole hell of a lot from getting better anti cheat, but who knows how long that wait will be… :/
-
I'm definitely in the ball park of, they obviously did this due to FNAF being on the horizon. The only time BHVR seem to jump through hoops is for a license. Regardless I just hope they fix at least the majority of visual bugs in the game currently. I feel like I see a new visual bug with every sitting. Stuff like many Killers picking up Survivors and the model of the Survivor is not where it's supposed to be. It's either floating too high not in the arm of the Killer or even too low in the Killers body while the Killer is holding nothing… Wesker has a ton of visual bugs with his M2. When Nemesis tiers up in his power, the tentacle is clipping through his arm and it clips worse with each tier up.
Funny thing is most of these things didn't happen when those specific Chapters were released, but its as if overtime, they've stopped working or have gotten out of whack. Not sure how stuff like this gets messed up if it hasn't been touched since, but that's really a shame. Even just the way every Killers shadow looks on the ground as you're playing them. This game really needs an animation overhaul.
Go try this and then come back after you see it. Go swing your weapon with The Trapper while looking at his shadow on the ground. His head will actually come off according to the shadow… It's as if 2 separate models are loaded at all times.
How are the Killer models like Nemesis and Demogorgon so awkwardly posed in their shadows? What is that? Demos hands are all close together and majority of the shadows make the characters look like they're floating… Let's get out of 2016 at some point ??

Something something lobby dodging
I mean anybody can still lobby dodge for whatever picky reason. It'd be silly to leave out such a crucial feature that would benefit SoloQ players… I'd wager most Survivors would really appreciate seeing what Perks they're team is going to be using before the trial starts. If people want to lobby dodge because of something so petty, they'll theoretically lobby dodge regardless. Let us see our teams perks or put a system in place that lets 4 people who are in SoloQ use a similar feature.

You don't have to stop it outright, you just have to make sure that whenever someone leaves a match early, they get the DC penalty.
Eventually, that'll mean leaving the match prevents you from "going next" because you can't queue up again, meaning people will be at least a little bit more discerning about when to leave.

It is not about eliminating those people, its about providing players a proper balance and afterwards punishing those who are throwers because they are unhappy with something. Regarding things you mentioned people get DC penalty so im not sure why you listed them in the first place. Are you sure better balance will not reduce 'go next' players count?
I'm saying specific people will never care about it either way and I hope BHVR realizes they can't fix those people. We can only hope the # of folks that d/c just for the hell of it is not a decent chunk of the DBD community or hope they end up changing their ways assuming a proper fix is implemented. =P Giving extreme examples is fun for me.
-
You're never going to fix people wanting to go next. There are too many reasons why a person would want to go next. Maybe they don't like the map, Killer, their teammates, equipped wrong perk, their mom told them to get off, they got caught playing at work, they just feel like it, etc… Obviously they actually can't solve the overarching problem with a players mentality where they feel they just have to d/c for whatever split second reason during a game.
These are the same people that won't be stopped when it comes to disconnecting. Ah, they can't kill themselves on hook anymore..? Now they'll just press "Esc" and d/c. Wait..now they can't press "Esc" and d/c anymore..? Time to just Ctrl-Alt-Delete to end the process. Oh shoot…now BHVR somehow implemented a way that they can't press Ctr-Alt-Delete anymore in this alternate reality..? Looks like it's time to just unplug the CPU power cable from the wall and throw it in the street.
You can't make people do what they don't want to do and if the amount of people that are "Going Next" is a big enough chunk of the DBD fan base, I'll be in the background ROFL while watching BHVR try to fix something that simply can't be fixed. Hopefully the amount of players that do it is moderately low.
-
Sounds like you're not confused and already know what they meant.
-
The only things remotely close to FNAF in terms of pull is going to be Friday the 13th and Slenderman in every regard. Stranger Things having a 2nd chapter could pull in more than the 1st ST chapter, but at this point, I don't see anything else making as big of a splash as FNAF or Slenderman. Maybe if we somehow get a Scooby Doo x DBD crossover? (even if it's just cosmetics, it'd do very well imo)
If they can't do Slenderman himself, they could always go with Marble Hornets - The Operator who shares a strikingly similar look to Slenderman. It'd be the same thing tbh.

keep nerfing tunnel/camp because we haven't been doing that every update
Continued intervention is only necessary because no matter how many carrots BHVR dangles or sticks BHVR pokes with, killers keep refusing to play nice. And, to an extent, I get it. Tunnelling, slugging etc. take little effort for the reward they net you. But that's exactly why they need to go. The easiest strategy to do should not get you consistent wins. That should come from skill and effort instead.
The thing forcing BHVR's hand here are the killers who refuse to improve and instead rely on getting one survivor out ASAP and winning the entire game through that action alone. It was cheesy in 2016, has been cheesy for 8 years, and now it's time to do away with it.
And for the record, camping and tunneling aren't necessary to win. A good chunk of us do just fine without it and always have. It's an easy and cheap way to win, sure. But with a little practice you absolutely do not need to do it.
Camping and tunneling one Survivor out early is sometimes the only way to even have a chance against seasoned SWFs. People are going to keep doing what is easier to do and once BHVR figures out that hooks should be incentivized over kills than nothing is going to change. How many "hooks" a Killer gets vs how many "kills" they get will always tell a different story. Bad data will always give bad results. In other words, garbage in, garbage out… After all this time they STILL don't get it..
Survivor perks like new Dead Hard, Deliverance, etc actively discourage hooking the Survivor as they'll just get another thing to use against you once they're hooked.. If hooks did what cages do in 2v8 and went to the other side of the map every time the Killer got close it'd be a whole different story and Decisive Strike, Deliverance, etc wouldn't have been necessary in the 1st place. Put something in the game that tells Killer they'll get rewarded for going after a new person each time. Just like Grim Embrace. Not a perk but an actual base mechanic of the game.
-
I'm sure that's the point. They'd rather people just go to the next game and get over those losses faster. I mean its a game and it shouldn't really matter anyway, BUT the way it is now you can make Survivors stay in the game WAY TOO LONG.. Speeding up that process will be a very welcome addition.

I agree. Group them all together for eternity. Or..at least until they start trying to escape trials again as well as the limbo of getting paired with people who play just like they do.
