The reason they haven't and won't is same reason most gaming companies refuse to aggressively ban cheaters - they'll do it in waves spaced a few months apart so that cheaters will re-buy the game/outfits. The problem is that DBD's been given away for free so many times that this business decision just harms legitimate players without bringing BHVR any additional money, as the most egregious cheaters already have hundreds of accounts squirreled away.

You know who else is inconsistent with 4.6 m/s = 32m TR? Deathslinger. The only 4.4 with a 32m TR. They didn't need to do him dirty like that.

You did not read his post.

Anti-hatch play and/or Adept needing 4K.
-
No. If anything Xeno needs buffs to be relevant again.
-
With how insanely nerfed the tail is between the hitbox being shrunk to Deathslinger-size, the overly-long cooldown, the ludicrous strength of turrets, and tail attacks just plain going through survivors at times, Xenomorph is sadly relegated to the bottom tier of killers. I actually get BETTER performance out of using current Xenomorph as an M1-only instead of even bothering with the tail, which is pathetic.

Old DH was so horrible that I became a Bubba main because no injured state meant no DH, and people still healed against Bubba.
-
Things right now are a little bit better than they were a few years ago. BT+DS+DH+UB (with the occasional swapping of 1 perk for OoO in a 4-man SWF) was on every single survivor in red ranks. Perk variety right now isn't very good, but there's a few meaningful choices. There's a pool of maybe ten survivor perks that get commonly run versus the old set of five.
-
People like to cry and moan in ANY game where you can see which way the wind's blowing and you give up, but there's little reason to put in the effort into a doomed match.
-
The PS4 was barely able to handle the game 3 years ago as it is and unfortunately it is known that the PS4 used garbage-tier network hardware/software. Symptom of Japanese development, unfortunately.
-
No way I have any merch, game already nickel-and-dimes you every couple months.

BHVR Release an Unbugged Anything Challenge (Impossible)
-
Void is genuinely useless as a killer, when playing killer it's more time- and BP-efficient to just play normally and only interact with void-related things when energy is maxed.
-
You're not just paranoid, the game's got a cheater problem. One version of the cheat makes the killer DC and take penalty, another version just makes the match server disconnect.
-
DBD has always just been a reskin of old-school Scooby-Doo. You know, the monster/killer pops up, looks slightly menacing, goes "rarrr", and ineffectually chases the gang/survivors around, who were never in any actual danger and could have left at any time.

What's a softcap? I assume there is also a hardcap. Any other caps out there in DbD terminology?
The MMR soft cap, which means the functional maximum MMR. In my explanation, I will use numbers that are purely for example because I do not recall the precise values that BHVR uses for MMR calculation, but the logic will be the same. For example, let's say that bad players are around 500 MMR, average players are around 1250, and strong players are around a soft cap 2000. In addition, there's the extremely strong players that make up a very small segment of the playerbase that have MMRs over 2000, and MMR does not have a hard cap and can build theoretically infinitely.
In order to find matches for those individuals that have extremely high MMRs far beyond the soft cap of 2000, when players enter the queue, the range of MMRs the game will deem valid matchups will be between 2000 and Positive Infinity. That means that, sometimes, a person who went on a decent win streak who has 100ish hours will be at 2100 MMR and may be matched with anyone between 2000 and 999,999,999,999,999 MMR.

Play Bubba.
No, seriously, this isn't me memeing or something. He can hit a single survivor twice during his power and he almost totally ignores bodyblocking. He's one of the only killers that can very, very quickly chew through Endurance.
-
Even the stated goal of 60% kill : escape by BHVR is survivor-sided. A TRULY balanced game, by BHVR's own terms, is 50% 3K+ games, 50% 2K- games, which would equal 62.5%.

I really think Toolbox in general should modify the Gen progression bar like this.
Something like a Brown Toolbox has 1 charge, and using the charge would create a checkpoint to the Gen, which Gen cant regressed further than the check point. No speed boost.
C3, as much as I love you and your artwork, this idea's got problems. The instant a SWF (or even solo-queues) identify the killer's gen defense perk, toolboxes will become the strongest items in the game by far. Killer's got Pain Resonance? All it takes is a single callout of "NOW" to totally nullify that perk after the first hook. Same goes for Jolt and Eruption. Pop users get shafted the easiest, because that's just a matter of using it the instant a Terror Radius passes by a solo queuer, no comms needed at all. Likewise for Overcharge/Call of Brine, not that anyone's using those anymore. I can't think of a single gen defense perk that wouldn't be made 100% useless after first down/first hook by this.
It'd be an incredibly unfair buff to survivors, especially the ones that use outside communications programs to coordinate plays.
Edit: Tinkerer and Deadlock would still work. That's it. That's the only gen defense you'd see anymore.
-
They might, maybe, possibly consider changing it. They'll bring it to committee at an undefined time for an undefined review to be potentially possibly changed at an unspecified date.
A less sarcastic reply: They left Dead Hard unchanged for 5 years. Good luck convincing them to change it.
-
It also only takes like 5 wins in a row to reach the softcap. That's not undoable for anyone with over 100 hours.
-
I was angry at DBD and keyboard mashed.

Oh so BNP now decrease the maximum time to complete, not boosting progress anymore?
Correct. BNPs now trigger a skillcheck that, when successfully hit, permanently reduces the max gen repair time by 10 charges.

There is a non-zero percent chance Scorpion is on the table.
But why? He'd literally just be Deathslinger.
-
What they should do is just bring back the BP bonus on BBQ.
-
Streamsnipers who queue at the exact same time as a streamer in the hopes of ruining their game. This is, functionally, a redundant system since the streamers who'd get targeted now get a Preferred Player Premium Queue (TM).

survivors can also play flawlessly and still lose. see blight, nurse, spirit, etc. with the right add-ons and map
that doesn't matter though because 99.99% of the games where either side thinks they "played flawlessly and still lost" they simply weren't good enough to recognize the mistakes they made.
There's years upon years of proof that top-tier SWFs with flawless play have a 100% winrate against top-tier Nurses also playing flawlessly. Why do you think items/perks are limited in the competitive scene?
-
The Furtive Chase "buff" is an excellent example of Spreadsheet Balancing (TM). The devs are so out of touch with how their own game is played that they genuinely don't understand how useless it is.

Well, yeah, good. Imagine if that weren't the case, if killer could win despite the survivor team playing flawlessly; or imagine the other way, imagine not making a single mistake as killer and still losing. The game would be pretty poorly balanced if one of the two sides could play flawlessly and still lose
One of the two sides CAN play flawlessly and still lose. That side is called Killer.
Sadly, that's just the reality of asym game balance. One side being guaranteed victory if they play flawlessly means that the other side can play equally flawlessly and still lose.

It has synergy in the sense that the screaming would force survivors off the generator and block it for whatever duration DMS has left. It's not necessarily good synergy, though, because you can't get it consistently. It would primarily work on survivors who don't heal, which would make the build reliant on survivor mistakes. Pain Res still has better synergy with DMS for the exact reason you said: they both trigger on a hook, guaranteeing value from both. Ultimately, there are better perks to pair Jolt with. Surveillance synergizes with it to monitor which gens are being done, while Pain Res compliments Jolt's general, small explosions with a limited number of large concentrated ones.
I mean, yeah, all of that is correct, but the point I was trying to make is that Jolt+DMS synergize so poorly on most of the roster that I don't understand why anyone would bother wanting to nerf Jolt. Any build that uses Jolt+DMS would be better served by using something else in one of those slots.
-
My question is, in what way does Jolt screaming synergize with DMS? The reason old Pain Res worked with DMS was because they have the same trigger, a hook. DMS starts working for 30 seconds after a hook, and any gen blocking lasts only until DMS stops. Are your teammates getting downed by basic attacks less than 30 seconds apart? And even if they are, is DMS even active for more than 3 seconds when the Jolt hits?

The funny thing is if you don't miss your attacks this "nerf" literally means nothing LOL but people will refuse to see it.🤭
Tail striking turrets counts as a miss as far as the recovery delay is concerned, and if you're not playing with Xeno's best add-ons, often times you cannot M1 them without losing your power. So, regardless of whether or not your accuracy when tail striking survivors is 100%, this does not mean "literally nothing". Try playing killer instead of just being a sweaty SWFer all day.
-
Pretty much. Super cool how they'll leave Survivor perks brokenly OP for months or years, yet they'll nerf a B tier killer down to C+ within two weeks of its release.
-
Bubba. He's simple, effective, makes deadzones super fast, doesn't care about MFT, barely cares about Endurance, and can be played fairly mindlessly with Bambooze + Superior Anatomy.
-
They're definitely everywhere. It's not even subtle, you can see them staring straight at you through tall gapless walls without aura readers, teleporting, DDOSing the server until the match times out if they don't like something that happened, being 103% speed without being injured to gaslight you into thinking 106% MFT is 103%.
-
Current hatch is way, way more fair than old hatch. Old hatch was so unfair that people used to dodge keys.
-
The only questions that got concrete, real answers that were actual new information were "no charm store ever" and "Iron Maiden collab 2024". Everything else is vague weasel words or old/gameplay irrelevant info.
-
It used to have a point, it used to be how matchmaking was determined before hockey-based matchmaking took over. Now it's just a measure of how much you played in the month and determines how much bonus BP you get once a month.
-
The only thing this will achieve is making people go back to the old system of lobby shopping, which was to check Steam profiles for hours played/friendlists for SWFs/dodge all Private profiles.
-
You force him to chase at structures where his power doesn't work. Short and circular. That's it. That's all there is to it. It collides on every little thing. At that point if Xeno even tries it accomplishes literally nothing but giving the survs distance.
-
Yeah. I have a build that's SH:Pain Res, SH:Floods of Rage, MYC, and Lethal Pursuer. Lethal gets the first chase and extends the Floods, which reveals the precise position of the Make Your Choice. Pain Res is for pure synergy, you could honestly replace that with whatever you like.
-
Based on an entire day and night of playing Xenomorph enough to reach P3, yes. Turrets are definitely invincible in two specific states - post-tunneling disabled and on the ground undeployed while they're still folded up.
-
Crusher wouldn't really work because it's effectively a Praetorian Runner, and is limited to quadrupedal stance-only. Praetorian would work, but it'd end up looking virtually identical to the Queen skin minus the mini arms on the torso.
Seconded on adding an Adult Neomorph skin. The prequel movies might suck but that's purely a writing failure, the actual lore's good.
Prowler's fine and should work fine. I enjoyed Fireteam Elite enough that I 100%'d it.
It'd be easy enough to dig into the comic books for sources of variants, like the sickly Necromorph, or Specimen 6 (though that might be a sticky license situation since that's AVP, not Alien).
We definitely need a Warrior skin, they were always my favorite because Aliens is my favorite of the franchise.
-
The Clone skin is probably meant to be a "what if" of a failed Ripley clone from Resurrection, since some of those looked fairly close to what we got.
-
Whispers. Uncounterable, works all match long, is nearly as good as Lethal Pursuer at match start, 99/100 times gets you the last survivor if you close hatch, and with some patience it lets you triangulate slugs/extremely stealthy players. Paired with an aura-reader of some type, you're never lost.
-
TMC? What does "The Movie Channel" have to do with asym games?
-
Yeah, that's what happens when survivors whine until all the viable killer perks are nerfed.
-
Generally those console-exclusive cosmetics are free, and depending on the game, either nobody at the companies care or they just make them unselectable on the appropriate platforms.
-
It's most likely because Warframe is a full IP unto itself, whereas DBD is a tangled mess of licenses on top of being spaghetti coded.
