If you are in my attack range, no it's not. What is unfair and illogical is the contrary.
im not on my screen. you're getting juicy hits because of your juicy ping.

I agree with changing his base movemwnt speed.
Tho i had a problem here.
You said its most OP killer in the game, but a sentence later You said that people who play him, cannot win without tunneling.
How are those two sentences not contradict eachother for You?
The statements "the killer is overpowered" and "generally this killer's players are bad and cant win without tunneling" aren't contradictory. They just speak to the personal frustrations of the OP.

As the title says Xeno’s power is pretty cool and powerfull in theory but man I think we have another singularity situation here.
The turrets are very oppressive and any competent team or even random soloQ survivors can use them very effectively. Unlike some people believe they do not consume a lot of time to activate by the survivors, they cover an absurd area, they can be spammed even if you destroy them, they act as an early warning system…
This wouldn’t be a issue if runner mode was itself very oppressive but it isn’t. Runner mode has a decent reach sure but its not that big, the hit box is very small, its quite easy to dodge and in general is (compared to other killer “range attacks”) pretty overwhelming especially considering the massive counter play it has.
And this is seen in public matches easily. Every time I play against the Xenomorph and the survivors have more than 10 hours in the game the killer is always getting burned out of his power and has very few kills if any. And when I play as the Xeno against good survivors its more of the same. The only reason I have gotten some wins as Xeno against good survivors is because of perk shenanigans like NOED.
In my opinion or they nerf heavily turrets or they buff runner mode or do both. But that’s my opinion, what do you guys think?
the turrets are extremely weak from ptb,what are you on about

4,4 makes sense for him tbh. it's crazy how he is great at m1s and m2s and has great mobility. Spirit who has a strong chase/mobility power is 4,4 but he isnt for some reason.

Not a complaint. Just a suggestion. We're just giving away free purple items. I'd at least not make it a freebie. At least have it cost some time.
They could spend 20 seconds on a gen and earn the equivalent BPs. It's not serious. Grass is right there,please touch it. One purple item per match isnt even slightly an issue.

This happens to me all the time and makes me turn off the game and stay away from it for a long time.
Does this game defy the laws of physics? How did this get past development? I'm really curious as to who thinks this is acceptable and why.
It's like Dark Souls PVP. It's garbage,always has been garbage but because it's so unique people still love it.

That's true if you late at night for your server, but when everyone is sub 40 ping vaults are fine. Due to a nightshift, I had to deal with 100+ ping minimum lobbies often when playing on days off, and they are super jank at that level of lag.
It's fine if you're sub 40 and killer is on great ping.
I don't get either.

I would like to see PRO M1 killer playing without his power against PRO survivors.
You're not playing against pro SWF players. You're playing against solos and bad players most of your matches. If you're losing,it's your fault 99% of the time.

@mizark3 said:
The problem was the anniversary caused many mismatched servers to be used for matches. That meant most matches were excessively laggy, and Killers could get undeserved hits. Lag in this game favors the 'attacker', which almost exclusively is the Killer. There are some mechanics where lag favors Survivors, such as revealing Ghostface, or EMPs clearing Singularity infections. Since most Killer players are used to lag being on their side, nothing was different during their Anniversary gameplay, but Survivor sided gameplay was miserable. People were complaining about the lag hits, and the devs 'fixed' the wrong problem, and gave us these 'giga'-vaults instead of fixing latency at vault points.
Vaults have always been this ######### and servers keep getting worse. Vaults needed a buff for years.

SoloQ is weak
Not survivors
Those are two very different things.
It's like saying killers are weak, because of Trapper.
It would be like that if Trapper was 90% of the matches.

The whole killer is designed to 3gen, it's not like the add-ons play a major part in it
Not true. Her addons substantially carry a lot of the experience. If you saw the world chess championship team Eternal (i believe) match a lot of the missed skillchecks happened purely due to addons. Hearing her come over also is harder due to the obli addon.

Increasing the regression up to 15% or 20% to justify removing the aura reveal would be counter productive as BHVR had already decided to nerf the gen kick meta. If the Killer secured a 3 gen and kept applying eruption on them, getting one down would apply the equivalent of old Pain Res regression to all of them. Add in Jolt, pop and overcharge and 3 gen strategy would be popular again
I think once we get an anti 3 gen system it'd be fine. Unlike CoB/OC it actually needs a down.

they already said that is not intended and they will eventually are gonna removed , however to this day is still a thing.
by "people" thats mostly killer and as someone who plays killers vaults were insanely generous since dedicated server at the point where seeing a survivor making you miss a hit on a window was soo rare due to desync and the fact that survivor were hitable during the entire animation 0.5 a a couple of miliseconds after due to latency.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/WVY0N1A83P5Y/window-hit.gif
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/EA05JAMR2MVH/window-hit.gif
even when people got used to the broken vaults since dedicated server , that doesnt mean it is fair , is just always BS for survivor on killer it might not look that bad , but on survivor is miserable getting hit like this.
exactly this

Trapper has surpassed F tier and is in the hell zone with these new vaults I don't think they can leave them as they are
You can win most of your games as trapper without even using your power if you're good. A few of my friends are on winstreaks that are 10+ games long. Even the weakest killers still can win most matches.

People can't understand how a killer with long arms and a half meter long machete would be able to hit you 1 meter away through open and unobstructed windows, it seems. In fact, what not makes sense is the attack range of most of this killers. I mean, have you seen Nemesis's arms? Why is he so adamant to just throw an straight punch and keep throwing body-range hooks?
Anyway, the problem with the "new fast vault" is that it literally gives invincible frames when vaulting. I had a game tonight where I should have downed someone but because he just started to vault the moment I was going to hit him he just vaulted and I ended up hitting the window. Something like in this vid, but even earlier in the vault:
https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/15i2lfk/loving_the_new_vaults/
So no,
newbugged fast vaults should not stay in the game, and I don't mind if fast vaults receive more distance but the killer should be able to hit you during the whole process unless you are so far from the window that you are no longer in attack range anymore.Then killer should be able to hit over small loops or not get stunned by pallets for 4 minutes. It's not about realism,it's about visual feedback. Vaults need a buff.

@Ivanynakov said:
Slower vaulting speed has to return and here is why:
The whole balance was build around vaulting speed during last years (when it was broken). Yes, they fixed it. But it resulted into FASTER vaulting. So there are 2 choices, rebalance everything they've done during those years OR make vaulting slower so it matches broken status but with proper animation. You can NOT be serious wanting that huge survivors buff to stay O.O.
*Correct me if I am wrong and don't understand something.
I can be serious. I play both sides and it's fine. Surv is weak rn anyway in most matches because solo queue.

@MB666 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/387397/fast-vaults-need-to-stay
I wouldnt say they were broken all those years more like they were broken since dedicated servers came out , before that , vaults were more responsive IMO. pretty much the same as they are right now with the fix.
however latency still rewards bad ping , so no changes on that.
edit: wait they did reverted? no way..am pretty sure is not..are u talking about PTB or now on live?
They said it's a bug and they are removing them.

POPGTW is very good. Lately I've used it along with Pain Res + Agi. Agi not only lets me reach resonance but gives me good/better positioning. I can't tell you the amount of time survivors spend trying to complete a gen sometimes after I pain res and POP it constantly.
Also don't forget No Way Out. Honourable mention includes STBFL and perk combos like Ruin + Undying + Pentimento can be good on killers that can pressure well.
To add, the Eruption nerf was good. Yes, SWF can still call out whenever they're about to get hit to avoid the aura reading aspect of the perk, but it's in a much better spot than before in terms of SWF vs solo queue.
Eruption is still strong and frankly I dont like it. The aura part should go and the regression should go up slightly. The aura part is unhelpful for weaker killers but strong mobility killers go brr with it. Pop slays,yeah,I completely blanked on it tbh.

The 3 gen situation as a whole is being looked into, we are also going to revisit Skull Merchant, she has had some updates but we do want to address the 3 gen potential. Unfortunately neither of these things are quick fixes and with limited time and bandwidth it's not something that can be rushed out. However, we have not forgotten about these two things and they are actually being worked on.
Killswitch her 3 gen addons then,please. They arent useful anywhere BUT 3 genning. Nobody will miss them.

https://clips.twitch.tv/AwkwardMildFerretPipeHype-0ehry4t4zExHh7Bo
I'm not saying that the issue is to be left alone. I'm saying one is more important because it happens 99% of the time instead of 1% of the time.
Your complaint of the community not talking about more about the extremely rare issue vs an extremely common issue is silly. Should it be touched? Yeah,obviously. Are there matters far more pressing than one match in a few hundred where there's an actual optimal SWF? Yeah,obviously.
-
@Dreh said:
People used to play until the match was over.
Now, they quit for absolutely everything. Weak killer, strong killer, good map, bad map. There's no reasaonable logic to it.
What's happening, and what can be done to reduce it?
Extremely anti-solo queue design has caused a noticeable fatigue of survivor players. Game was also pretty much killer-sided for like 8 months unless you were in 3-man+ SWFs and sweating.

That's what i don't understand about this community. The survivor mains complain about camping and tunneling, and whenever anyone points out how terrible it actually is for killers going against efficient teams its "but the average survivor can't do that". Which doesn't matter. You also don't make changes in a vacuum, you can change A and also change B at the same time. With all the complaining i'm surprised people don't realize that this game would be more fun if they didn't balance for kills, but instead balanced for chases, and made camping and tunneling impossible. It's what everyone generally wants.
Are you trying to make the argument that efficient SWF/Coordinated teams are as big and prominent of an issue as tunneling and camping? I only ever hear really salty people who say they go against 5 trillion MMR SWFs most of their game and it's usually when they're bad.

Wouldn´t that advocate for SWF nerfs?
But then again, no one should be punished for playing with friends.
No,that should advocate for solo buffs because punishing people for just wanting to play with a friend is silly. They should buff the hell out of solo first
-
@Tsulan said:
DbD was never and probably will never be balanced around SWF. Solos have been brought closer to SWF than ever. Only thing that could put it even would be ingame voice chat. But the community is fighting that idea with a burning passion.
Biggest issue survivors have right now are other survivors. Or lets say, their short temper and willingness to leave the match early, whenever something doesn´t go their way. Apart from that, solo is in the best spot ever. As you mentioned, the HUD is a very big thing, if survivors know how to read it.
The short temper you're describing is what in my opinion happens when you buff Killers versus solos while leaving their efficacy vs SWF unchanged.
-
@Xernoton said:
Let's see. We have a new HUD, base kit BT, Windows of Opportunity, Deja Vu, most killer meta perks nerfed, specifically Overcharge, a bunch of endurance effects on random perks, a lot of hand holding against recent killers like particle effects on bio pods and the Knight's orb, no more hook grabs and an anti-camping mechanic on the horizon.
It's the opposite. You have perks that literally tell you how to play the game as survivor. An experienced SWF doesn't need that. These are all things that cater to the baby Meg that uses her Sprint Burst to run into the nearest wall.
In short: BHVR are trying to balance around very inexperienced survivors.
Let's see,Medkits nerfed,addons gutted,individual survivilability perks like DS gutted,while bodyblock team perks like OTR buffed,COH being altruistic only,all modern killer designs requiring tons of survivor coodrination...
Yeah I don't think so bud. Like 60% of things you mentioned also help SWF more than solos.

The game is balanced around Killer vs SWF.
The game is not balanced for solo-queue survivor, where most casual survivors exist. Also, where most of the player base exists.
This is what I'm seeing.

Yeah, I think that was why there was no point in setting it higher. My monitor is 240fps as well so it's a shame.
My new one is 165 and it saddens me as well. I tried VRR recently and on DBD specifically it sucks,sadly. Game drops down to 60/80s very often compared to other titles and causes pretty bad flicker.

That's what I'm saying, for the majority of these challenges you don't have to be useless. You don't have to go crouch in the terror radius, you just need to be in it and not in chase. That happens way more often than you'd think.
Two minutes in one trial is pushing it, though.
A hot take of mine is that they should encourage you to be less useless a lot more than they currently do tbh. It strains the weakest role in the game and makes it even weaker as it is rn
-
@MaTtRoSiTy said:
BHVR balances for low skill casual survivors, not SWF's.
The majority of the DBD player base are casual low skill survivors, so it makes sense.
I dont see how though. New CoH is nigh-on unusable in solo queue and if you're playing casually,get ready to eat dirt from Slugmadako and Gen Merchant
-
Nerf to 6 or 7 stacks and let the obsession see other people in chase so they know the perk is in play and come bodyblock. That's all. Return it to how good it was before 6.1.0 and help solos.
-
@jesterkind said:
Two minutes is a lot, but I find a lot of people overstate how hard these challenges actually are. You're in the killer's TR a lot more than you'd think you would be unless you're unlucky enough to face a stealth killer, it doesn't require going out of your way to follow the killer and urban evade in a corner or something.
For two minutes in one trial, though, you may have to be more proactive about it. That is a really high number for one trial, kinda too high.
I think the issue is how actively useless you have to be to complete these ones TBH. I dont like that Solos are so weak and then ecnouraged by the archives to go and crouch in the TR for an ENTIRE 2 minutes.
-
@mikewelk said:
You would have to watch a video on how to do it since it is in a weird place. You can set it to whatever you like but 120fps is the best option apparently.
Just clarifying,120 FPS is the engine hard cap set by BHVR for some reason. You cant uncap it higher.[
-
I dont understand all the new coldwind tiles. The maps feel like Autohaven from a few patches ago where almost every map was an auto killer win.
-
She's bugged and BHVR is yet to Killswitch her which has been becoming a trend for some reason lately. I thought Killswitch was for this type of thing.
-
It's so silly that this game runs this badly even on the best of hardwares. Still waiting for them to step back from the 6 killers a month pipeline of development and start working on the health of the game.

@BlueHorkew said:
Knight, Dull Merchant, Singularity and now Sadako, what is going on with the killer design in the past year?
In the process of trying to be unique or flavourfull this killers just introduced frustration for both roles back to back.
Knight just turns both sides into AI, removing all skill from both sides, it's just a matter of who gets to win
Dull merchant is mindblowing that the devs wouldn't understand what people would do with this killer and how unfun it would turn out.
Singularity is just Trapper 2.0, a killer with a power that if were just buffed a tiny to much on the wrong areas would make them broken, so survivors get to disable your entire power to ensure he won't be broken
And now Sadako that ignores the way people play the game so you either destroy solos that can't do much to stop your very fun strat of tp on cooldown and hit and run to turbo mori someone with 0 hooks. Or people pick up tapes and force you to chase them on a killer with no chase power.
It's kinda of amazing how all this killers have kits to be hated by both sides. Both sides get to feel useless and frustrated.
At this point just release speedy killers and projectile killers. I would take a bunch of Huntress and Wesker clones over this latest releases.
I think "frustrating for both sides" has been the perfect description of the last year of balance. No one is happy.
