Devs have been making it easier for Survivors in a lot of ways for literal years, it's about time Killers get a decent buff. It's not a stealth game and considering some of the Boon perks, it's already way too easy to lose a Killer completely and then add Iron Will and Spine Chill on top of that. A lot of pretty strong Survivor stealth perks.
I once thought a SWF was teleporting because they had BOTH Circle of Healing and Shadow Step, so they healspammed at the 99'd exit gates in seconds and rescued a survivor while I had my back turned and somehow none of them left scratch marks.
Killer stealth allows for an easier first hit, Survivor stealth allows for a very boring game and very stupid plays. Sure the Iron Will nerf is massive but Survivors making no noise at all was kinda stupid too.
Not a stealth game?! Are we playing the same game? And until this patch stealth was a big part of the game and has been from the beginning. FFS It was Spirit's only real counterplay. Not to mention what it's done to sabotaging hooks.

Name a single time this favor was ever given to killer players over the past 6 years.
When I was still playing I used to do it all the time and have seen it quite a bit and I've been playing since the beginning. If the killer's having a hard time I might allow him to sacrifice me or at least hook me and I've definitely been on teams that we all allowed the killer at least one hook each if they were struggling.

Oooookay........so if you ######### on hook and screw over your teammates....you won? Made a stand against oppression?
Honestly Oppression isn't even that great a perk.
It's not about winning or losing. It's about sending a message. And it will be received, you'll see. Most of the survivors that are suffering understand this.

Nah, though you obviously need a Dump Truck for all that salt your throwing around. What's the matter Survivor Main? Mad you can't bully killers anymore using all you're "I ######### up, gimmie a do over" perks?
I never used them. Didn't have to. And I play both.

So there's no point to playing the game, but you keep queuing up anyway and throwing games others might want to actually win? What do you think you're proving?
Honestly I wish survivors would be real and just say it.
"We want dead hard back!"
I have never once in my 5 years used dead hard. I like to spell it out because I'm not lazy and people might not know what it means. I've actually not played the game since 1st day of update. I faced a lot of spirits because of it and without the only guaranteed spirit counterplay, death was inevitable. And I won't play again until it's fixed. I don't have to because I have watched enough people suffering through this and I would rather not be a part of it. Which means my money goes elsewhere.

This. Exactly this. Just had another game vs Trickster 2 gens done 1 hooked then someone dc'ed. That game was winnable. All it takes is ONE person with your mentality to torpedo an entire team if you just want bps play killer at least you won't ruin the game for three others
Playing killer now ruins the game for all survivors that play 🤣

Maybe it's because my survivor mmr is lower, but playing all day yesterday I had 2 tunneling killers. Folks who main survivor tend to have a pretty broad definition of those two words. As to the other matches I lost, no the killer didn't camp or tunnel. They didn't have to. I just died on first hook going to rescue a guy(who ended up dying on first hook) because two of our team just loaded into a game they didn't want to play. It's infuriating hanging on hook seeing Claudette having a siesta in the killer shack and Jake apparently preparing a bubble bath in Garden of Joy main house. I get it's going to take a while for survivors to adjust to this patch so when I switch back to killer I slow my roll a bit but as for my survivor games can you guys stop being babies
JUST TRY PLEASE
There's no point now, and the devs need to see that. I'd like to say they'll learn, but I don't think so. You can't learn if you don't play your own game.

And I want my solo Q teammates to do gens and not go down in 3 seconds. But here we are.
The main problem with all these balances and changes is that if a Bubba wants to camp - he's still gonna camp, even if the devs gave him millions of incentives to leave the hook. Some people just do it out of spite, some do it because they enjoy the end-game salt and others do it because it's a guaranteed win to camp one survivor to death until a gen pops since a 3v1 scenario when gens take even longer is unwinnable on the survivor side.
What they should do with campers and tunnelers is make it so you lose almost all of your points if you do it. Stop allowing these kind of killers to rank up or get more items or perks you eventually solve the problem.

@FriendlyKiller said:
I played killer all day yesterday to try out the perk changes and new game play mechanics. It is much less stressful not having to deal with dead hard on every survivor every chase. Won some, lost some, tried out some goofy builds now that I have nearly every perk t3 on every killer. Which by the way I wouldn't have dared try in the former meta. So okay, good there, switched over to see how the other side is living.
Survivors are literally throwing.
I don't know if this is like some form of protest because dead hard got nerfed or an attempt to artificially inflate the kill rates so killer buffs get reverted but NO ONE is even trying to do gens. Every time I chase for a bit and eventually get hooked I see survivors jumping in and out of lockers or clustered around the hook.
Guys what happened?
We couldn't keep you off gens before you wouldn't even do totems now no survivor is even trying I did two gens last game solo we got 4k'ed with 3 gens left. It's like the Spirit DC protest all over again.
DO THE GENS
They figure if the devs are just gonna give killers the games with these perk changes we might as well help them out. That's what happens when the majority of the survivor player base are solo Q survivor mains that are getting shat upon. How fun is it now?!

Camping/Tunneling 5sec BT not enough
10+ min killer que for mid to high MMR
DS,DH, iron will and selfcare are worthless now
bloodwebs nerfed you can never get rare add ons now if you need/want them
Solo que survivor is unplayable
Disconnects run rampant
Cheating/Hackers everywhere
Killer was overbuffed thanatophobia did not need a buff
Bad map layouts
No nerfs for nurse, blight, and spirit
if you can think of anymore let me know and i will add them
Not to mention the de-sync and rubberbanding that is still rampant for console players that has been going on for over 3 years now at least. 7 out of 10 games for me have that involved. Oh, and pallets are still screwed up as well.

Hey, at least our "split" community will remain unified. Check out Overwatch where the split basically killed the game. Luckily DBD developers are not THAT inept. Heck, I do not believe there is much wrong with our community or developers at all, actually. I love them. One of the best I have been a part of. Sure, survivors are a bit entitled and killers are a bit whiny, but if that is the worst of it, I can live.
If you can't see that the devs are the problem with this game you're not paying attention and probably don't have a lot of gaming experience. People didn't put up with broken games like this when I was a kid. These devs wouldn't have made more games back in the day. As a gaming society our standards have lowered to the floor in comparison.

someone posted the graph in another post... 56% were solo, less than 30 were 2-man SWF, the other 14-15% were 3-man and 4-man SWF.
Since the majority of players are solo queue players, what we need to do is to either stop giving them money for some of the worst cosmetics I've ever seen in a game or play without any perks at all until they fix it. They either give us the perks we want the way we want them or we just won't use any of their perks and let them waste money by creating them.

Solo Q absolutely is an issue and it's about time we seriously get the developers to start taking the complaints about it seriously. You don't have to start big, but small things, like Kindred basekit, would go a long way.
With solo Q players making up the majority, what we need to do is either stop giving them money for some of the worst cosmetics I've ever seen in a game or stop using their crappily updated perks they created to try to make us play the way they want us to. Which means play every game from now until they fix it without perks. Show them that if they won't give us the perks we want, the way we want them, we won't play with the crap they're trying to force down our throats.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but from a business standpoint, if the population of the game stays roughly the same, it might suggest things are ok in BHVR's eyes. I don't think they will make changes based on 1 or 2 weeks worth of ingame data. Kill rates would have to skyrocket and maintain that high percentage over a long period, and only BHVR has those numbers, regardless of what's being posted here.
I think that a plummeting population or HUGE community outcry would be the only thing for BHVR to make changes right away. Otherwise I think they will continue their modus operandi and monitor their numbers, then make their adjustments when they normally do-- 6 weeks later.
I could be wrong. We'll see.
Everyone already knows they need to get their eyes checked. Lol

As a solo Survivor main, cya. Game feels just fine to me.
Also as someone who's been playing since 2016, I've personally seen Survivors crying wolf far more than Killers have on the forums, but this is anecdotal evidence and doesn't really mean anything. Most of the toxicity I've seen in this game has came strictly from Survivors.
Is getting a bad ratio what you're going for when you post something like this on survivor threads?! If so, good job. It's good evidence that you're a wolf in sheep's clothing.

It feels weird. Me and a survivor coming up on a loop and i just swing with no waiting for 3-4 seconds sniffing their back. Or just when we are running forward in general i can go for long lunge swings and not get right up against them. Is this what non-dead hard feels like? Personally i love it. Everythings pretty much perfect except for stuff like thana (refuse to touch it) but all in all the game feels fairly healthy. Anyone else enjoy it? Like the perk changed the games playstyle a lot. You had to follow in fear and wait. Now that its pretty much worthless you don't need to be so afraid.
Hardly any upvotes shows you're barking up the wrong tree. I never once used it and still know that it shouldn't have been touched, just like Iron Will, and Self-care among others.

No thanks.

Good job BHVR. Seems like all of you encourage unfun playstyle and call it "A StRatAge".
Make me think about worst hug game play in Korea.
The survivor with friends mode is the reason the game is so imbalanced in the 1st place. Having separate solo q and SWF modes, each with their own separate MMR, would make a world of difference to balance. Not to mention the fact that SWF teams tend to have weaker players because of the very nature of people carrying other people, which screws up MMR statistics when they play solo q. Personally I would wait for longer q times if it meant a balanced game with fun matches!

They shouldn't but they do. Most of them are content creators that keep the game afloat and pushed in the eyes of an audience. Who knows the true perks that get for it? I think killer mains are mad because they don't completely dominate every match like they did in the beginning! The fact is, 4 should beat 1 most of the time! 🤷♂️

SWF is the big problem that no one wants to fix! If you didn't have that you wouldn't have so many loser players that only rely on their teammates while they play on social media or whatever vapid, mind numbing stuff they do to keep them bad and lazy. And then they play solo queue and complain because they're so terrible and that they need MMR changes! Cry baby killers that don't want to get better at the game are also to blame!

We want MMR because right now, you never know what you're gonna get. Absolute potatoes? God tier loopers who can't do gens? God tier gen jockies who can't loop? Seemingly perfect players? 3 good players with one baby they have to carry? This game's matchmaking is the most inconsistent thing in the world. It makes CoD's matchmaking look good!
If they separated survival with friends and solo Q and gave them their own MMR we would see a complete difference in the game and how fun it is! Let the players that want to be better survivors by playing solo q to have their own game mode! They can still keep the SWF acronym and just call it Sucking With Friends!

Yeah, the 6% bonus is only somewhat useful when used with another perk, I never said that Resilience + Spine Chill was bad, but 6% on its own certainly is.
That's something I will probably never understand about this game, why they continue to leave old, outdated perks in that makes you have to use 2 perks instead of it just being one. Must be the spaghetti code. There are too many perks that need to be combined in this game, it would help the grind a lot as well as the overall gameplay.

Anyone but me who play on the PS4 notice that wiggling free from the killer is successful maybe once out of 70 times? Maybe computer players have better luck. Now this is just my opinion but I am seeing from my own experiences that wiggle is useless. Same for getting yourself off the hook even with using slippery meat. There are times where I am wiggling as fast as my heart can go and know for a fact its at 100% and the killer is still able to take me across the map with no issues and put me on the hook. I am not looking for trolling I am actually curious if it's useless or if there are other ways to be more successful.
Yeah it's useless! You shouldn't have to have 2 other teammates and a sabo play in order to get off of a killer's shoulder! Especially when most times it feels like the killer is taking you on a little friendly trip through the fog to Bubba's famous restaurant! Let's face it, there's a few things in this game that are just cosmetic now and have been made worthless in order to appease killers. The wiggle mechanic used to work about 3 years ago.

In terms of optimization and bugs this chapter is far worse than binding of kin in my opinion. It's damn near unplayable in console. At least I could play the twins without constant frame drops and lag spikes. Also Nemesis feels pretty weak. I don't really understand why anyone would pick him over Pyramid Head, but I'm still new with him. Only thing I like is the blast mine and flashbang from Jill and Leon, other than that this is imo the worst chapter they've ever released.
Trickster's chapter the worst thing that Dead by Daylight's ever done to this game other than the palate bug that is still going on by the way. Just a seriously not worth it cash grab!

Can you imagine how great this game would be if a competent developer willing to put the time and effort into making it optimized would buy it?! They would probably have one of the biggest fan bases in the industry! Not to mention a lot of the toxicity in the community would go away because the frustration that creates it would go away! But let's be fair the game is probably going to have to be rebuilt from the ground up without spaghetti code before it will work properly.

@Pulsar Oh most definitely. I feel like BHVR gets away with a ton of stuff that other developers would be quickly lambasted for by all major gaming news outlets as well as the gaming community at large. Hell, other developers would probably be sued for this level of negligence. They're basically selling a broken product knowing full well that it's broken and they just don't care because they're still making money since there's no significant competition in this genre.
Not to mention they're committing false advertisement by saying the game is 1 killer verses 4 survivors, and then they release the Twins, which are 2 killers! They've gotten too comfortable in the space without much competition and think they can just contradict everything that they ever promise without consequence.
-
It's really weird how the video game industry is treated now. In the eighties and nineties, if a company put out a piss poor product such as they have with Dead by Daylight, and it played the way this game does, which wasn't always the case btw, at least for me, customers would be physcally beating their doors and retail doors down if we didn't get a refund. These game developers would go under far faster than they do now. Customers knew if you want to make millions of our currency, it's time to deliver! It's like customers don't understand their power anymore. Stop buying anything from their store and it will show them that they need to get off their asses and fix their game.
-
It's bad on the survivor side of things too. I can't count how many times I've had a swf team use me as bait or take my game hostage.

Yeah cause maybe "winning" isn't winning if the game feels like #########
An example of the same argument for both sides. But the thing is it's an evolving argument depending on the amount of hours you have. A lot of people with 10000 plus hours have lost any recollection of what it was like in the beginning and I think that is what the devs are trying to pay attention to. People aren't going to want to continue playing the game if every match early on feels like an oppressive experience. And the learning curve is such that early on could mean a variety of time lengths dependent upon the person.
-
Losers will be losers I'm afraid!
-
Yeah the end game collapse was supposed to at least help with that problem, but all it did was make the end game boring. Personally, I enjoyed fighting for hatch at the end. I wish they'd put it back the way it was.
-
Just look at blood point offerings in general and how much you have to accomplish in a match to get them to even give you a 1000 blood points. The only ones truly worth it are the 100% ones.
-
@ukenicky said:
I use it only for 1 or 5 ratings. No in between.
When we have an absolutely awful match against a killer with little to no counterplay such as Spirit or Freddy or just any killer that partakes in hardcore tunneling and camping and then goes out of their way to be rude in end game chat etc. I'll put a 1 / didn't have any fun because honestly it isn't fun to go up against certain killers that are SS+ tier right now or killers who are just being mean for the sake of being mean and trying to ruin everyone's fun.
I certainly hope any and all 1 ratings against Spirit, Freddy and Twins helps Behavior know that these are characters with "fun" problems and need to be looked at (Freddy is obviously getting worked on soon). I hope they work on Spirit and Twins next. Especially Twins, it sucks that they're so weak without hardcore slugging, tunneling and camping.
And yeah, on the flipside if I have a lot of fun, whether it be playing against a killer who happens to be super fun to play against (Eg. Billy) or they're a decently nice killer (Not like, let us escape but just, not mean / rude) I'll put a 5 star even if we all die. Although in that case I'll usually also give the killer a props / commend on their profile because I can't stress this enough:
We need more nice survivor and killer players. End the cycle of toxicity please.
Anyways, I'm glad Behavior confirms that they draw some feedback from this as I will continue to use it lol
The toxicity that exists within the game is due to the state of the game itself. A lot of people that fell in love with the game are now toxic because of the way the game has changed in the last year and a 1/2. Over my 3 years of playing I've seen the toxicity rise with every change implemented, especially those that broke something else or imbalanced the game even further. The biggest problem is they're doing everything they can to keep new players engaged to the detriment of the rest of us and the game itself. They've had a problem with keeping casual gamers engaged through the learning curve from the beginning. The amount of hours that people have to put into the game for it just to keep going down hill can also make people toxic. And I do use the rating system after every game and have my own metrics I go by. I was really hoping that I wasn't wasting my time.
-
Same here. Out of every 10 matches 7 or 8 of them are this way, and if not, it's the killer camping or tunneling. Just the state of the game now. They'd rather bring out a new ugly outfit that shouldn't cost a third of what they're charging or a broken killer people stop playing after a week or two. Just look at the fact that they had to bring out a killer that's actually 2 killers so that killer mains will stop whining! If they actually cared about balancing the game these issues wouldn't exist as prevalently as they do.
-
I think it's going to come down to an adjustment to killer rank progression. Something like a certain amount of points per sec drain if they're within a certain range of a hooked survivor. And possibly a deduction if you are tunneling a survivor within a certain time period. Make them extreme enough to not allow ranking up if it happens even a small amount, like two survivors or something. I hope something gets done because it seems to be getting worse and worse. When I started playing it was happening about a quarter of the time. Now it seems like 6 or 7 out of every ten matches. Has almost made me quit playing this game more than once.
