Dead hard not working correctly since dedicated servers are another reason why I believe game play is being put through the servers and not just monitoring cheating/DCing.
Old Doctor and Ruin were two things that caused lag and skill checks needed to be lag free, both have recently been changed which might be due to these issues with dedicated servers
-
I'm so confused why a player is frustrated by one of many killers playing a build especially when they play killer.
As mentioned survivors tend to have many powerful perks and the top tier ones tend to be used similar to ruin but more frequently. Yesterday I was shocked that nobody was the obsession (no ds!) although the other three survivors seemed to be fairly new to the game
-
Jebers don't ask any main, if you want a balanced game ask a player who actually plays both sides
-
I like many have forecast this, the killer is BHVR
-
Nobody runs new ruin, old ruin was a plaster for poor map sizes.
Now the plaster has been removed in watching this game bleed out
-
That is why the game is dying right now because that isn't correct.
Survivors each make 12.5% of the game but without the killer the wait times are well...
The new match making suggested will only introduce a slower lobby wait time for killers and virtually do nothing for survivors wait times.
I hate being right as I watch this game burn
-
This is a pool only for mains?
I play survivor but have killer ranking as well

Rank 1 and atm playing a lot of killer cuz of survivor queue time
Which killer?
I'm confused, you play killer because survivor queue times are long? Wouldn't that mean you should have voted both or survivor?
-
@Brucecastro81 said:
Very underrated btw
Shows a killer kicking a palette?

Unless you have actual good teammates
I'm shocked by that vote, do you play killer often and what rank?
Which killer is fun, I need to enjoy it again
-
Claudette, no skilled player should have her
-
Match making? People aren't playing killer because they have been made more and more powerless.
Playing as survivor I can't decide which perks to play, sooo much more fun
-
This sounds like a great idea. I'm past caring about having a balanced game as the BHVR obviously don't
-
I'm lost for words with that question...
-
On console I don't think people know just how many people play on swf.
BHVR will have this information and refuse to acknowledge any balancing issues with swf never mind swf sweat squads
-
I couldn't believe when everyone knows where the totem spawn locations are that you only have to clean 1 totem if NOED is actived!
-
Too many to choose from, Clown is by far the worst killer unless you are playing nurse... for the first time
-
Never heard BT to be nerfed.
BT is an anti tunneling perk, whereas DS is not used just as that
-
Playing killer you could take any perk as there aren't any decent ones left imo
Playing survivor I'd be unhappy if they were to nerf any of them, DC, unbreakable, borrowed time, I'd be here all day... Maybe take no mither as it's me that also groans when I see a player with it
-
@JawsIsTheNextKiller and @Erak
I've never had problems with skill checks in the past when we used p2p only since dedicated servers and I totally agree that skill checks should only be client sided.
-
I mean don't get me wrong, maybe it wasn't because of people DC'ing?
What could be faster than a P2P point to point communication for game play?
Just watched that video again just for chuckles
-
To avoid anxiety simply don't play to win.
Just walk around hitting people, if you get anywhere near the top you'll find SWF on comms destroy you, this occurs frequently on console.
BHVR for some reason are nerfing Killers and their perks to create a balance for kill 2 and 2 escape but only at noob ranks which makes it so much fun in red ranks but you've spent your money on the game by then.
-
It is obvious that survivors especially with swf Comms are overpowered, it is the lack of BHVR talking about these issues that bother me.
I used to play killer but mainly survivor now as playing solo you have so much fun playing with powerful perks or just fine synergy with them.
Killer perks have been nerfed to a state once built up where you are just shaking your head frustrated.
-
Honestly if you are waving hands on the hook then I'll return to a generator.
Flap hands if killer nearby
Flap hands and repeat if killer camping
If nobody is coming to save you then just flick hands
If I'm a new player unaware then I will just sit on hook
-
Haven't you read the survivors rulebook?
-
You just flick your hands to be saved
-
"Yes "
Firecrackers a survivor add-on can blond the survivor. A survivor add-on that can have a negative effect.
"and there should be a killer perk that makes flashlights explode, toolboxes pretend to do gens fast and infected med kits "
Possible other add-ons that could have a negative effect.
"but as we see a new perk called ruin actually be a totem and show the insidious regression of gens sparking!? I doubt it would be implemented"
New ruined perk was commented as being insidious which was a great idea if it were a totem, however it wasn't with sparks that fly and generator completed would drop. So I would also doubt a killer perk affecting survivors add-ons unknowingly could also be implemented successfully.

Still, your comment was completely irrelevant to the op. You could go post it on a separate post that is about ruin. Or, you could make your own post to express your idea.
Also, what relevance would it have if they were in fact a survivor main. Do you just associate all survivors with the idea that they are evil and controlling?
I think their question had been answered and have explained continuation/relevance/link and believe you are suggesting actions you would have taken which I didn't choose to do but thank you for pointing out other options but was aware.
Bit of a sweeping statement but you'll find most survivors are not evil and controlling.
Some aren't, some are nasty and some are controlling telling others what they should do.
Killers as yet have never told me how I play or are controlling, however they also have been known to nasty ;)

This... Didn't address the post. Why would you talk about ruin here instead of somewhere else where the discussion actually is about ruin.
This post is about a negative effect of a addon.
My post was about a killer perk that could also have a negative effect.
Ruin has been ruined and will never be the same again *unless Devs make it decent.
You sound like a survivor main telling me what I can and can't do?
-
Yes and there should be a killer perk that makes flashlights explode, toolboxes pretend to do gens fast and infected med kits but as we see a new perk called ruin actually be a totem and show the insidious regression of gens sparking!? I doubt it would be implemented
-
I remember a few games where literally survivors had 3 gen'd themselves and wasted 10-15 of my time just to find a key to escape or hide just so I would DC.
Like most things in this game the hatch offers survivors a second or third chance.
-
Totally agree, one of the reasons I played GTA was how difficult it was.
-
It worries me how BHVR keep avoiding this
-
What is that hat there for?
-
A dirty build doesn't give me fun though, nor does it survivors.
Played a Huntress with her one shot hatches who then red Mori'd us. Nobody including the killer had 'fun' but it was a dirty build to do an archive task of killing X players no matter what... think killer lost a pip as they only hooked us all once.
To have fun as killer you need powerful perks with synergy and when they work either everyone adapts after others start to play them or they get nerfed. Killers have fun indeed lol

"Because I play this game and want it to be balanced and fair transparency is needed from BHVR, however it will be likely I will have no idea if I have played against or with great, good or new players."
Isn't this something you will determine during the course of the game? There are good rank 1s and there are terrible rank 1s. Time played determines rank in the end, not skill. A rank 10 can have more hours in the game than a rank 1 if they haven't played in a few months. The only way to know if they are new, experienced etc...is to click on their name and check their hours. What we have been doing all along is just assuming a rank 15 was a newbie.
As for SWF, nothing will likely be done to tell a killer they were/are against a SWF as it would lead to dodging and longer queue times for everyone. I don't know why everyone is convinced killers are leaving the game en masse. Killer queues used to take a long time in higher ranks for some people before the matchmaking changes and nobody was afraid survivors were leaving the game.
There are many things to see if a player is good, time played is useful but to be put further in the dark away not showing ranks isn't good.
SWF should be balanced and killers rewarded for playing them or survivor groups penalised, then and only then will killers want to play SWF when balanced, adding fun to survivors and punishing the killers fun should have been one thing BHVR identified straight away, I just wonder why they haven't fixed this, fairness and balancing?
-
Killers have asked for DS to be nerfed as it is used in over 80% of matches but BHVR have yet to respond.
Welcome to having a team member wasting time to do a sabotage two hooks daily, moris, keys and hatch mechanics.
-
If you introduce playing with friends you CANNOT stop comms full stop e.g. mobile/cell phone whilst playing the game.
The terror game isn't designed for map wide comms more a solo experience but SWF brings more players and players bring money.
As most SWF teams have an advantage with or without comms, the game should be balanced around this and personally and especially on console it should be based around using comms.
The game is played for fun so whilst SWF is fun for the survivors it can seriously affect the killers fun.
The issue is being ignored by BHVR and killers aren't playing so survivor queues become longer, to hear about crazy ideas where you don't even see a killers ranking would show the games imminent death.
The solution to queues is to remove SWF but this will never happen so as identifying SWF is easy for BHVR patches to increase killer perk slots against a 4 man swf or removing perk slots from 2 or 3 SWF group survivors is easier to do and would allow this game to survive before this year is out. I have my fingers crossed but fear a mori clown.
-
Information is the key to this game surviving and at the moment BHVR should be able to see where the flaws are in their balancing of the game.
Removing further information from players is to only try and hide the problems that are in the product that we all can guess.
Survivors should be able to see the killer and survivor rankings also who were in SWF groups.
Killers should be able to see SWF groups and end game survivor rankings, however since SWF creation they need to be balanced not removed or ignored. It is important for killers to see SWF as some just aren't at the skill level to face a 4 man SWF claudettes on comms. Killers should know SWF teams/groups as to what to expect to judge what to expect and accomplishment but most of all to judge if they are going to have a level of fun too as everyone plays a game to have fun but removing it from killers removes killers from the game and increases survivors and their wait times.
-
I'm guessing you are posting this whilst at in a survivor queue like me?
Billy does most certainly not need a nerf and your suggestion that he is easy makes me wonder how much longer I'm going to sit in this queue whilst nobody quite rightly wants to play more nerfed killers
-
Crazy idea, you'll be bullying noob killers who will quit the game or play survivor making queues even longer... the mind boggles!
BHVR needs to address why it is not fun to play killer and as experienced veterans leave it seems new ones will too.
-
Any skill checks need lullaby, healing, gens. Also why does it announce it, surely survivors can work it out

People willing to play killer should be respected especially in this climate where killer nerfs and reworks(killed to nerf).
Currently there is little fun in playing killer but plenty as survivor. Recently I had a daily as a killer and got 'Lol gg' which describes things perfectly at the moment.
-
Killers have already been nerfed with the audio bug that everyone talks about but doesn't seem to be identifed as one by BHVR.
When everyone was playing spirit iron will was a great perk to use but seems we get it for free depending on if you're the one bugged.
What is it with nerfing killers aren't they supposed to be difficult?
-
There are issues with the basics such as map sizes, killer coverage, swf.
Suggested swf solutions so far are:
1. Allow killer as to how chilled their experience should be with a SWF sizes option to limit from 4,3,2 to just solos, this allows a more chilled game with certain hex and perks viable to use.
2. Reduce 'X' for SWF eg Bloodpoints, Perks, Power perks (DC etc), ....
3. Make swf teams highlighted in lobby
Stats need to be provided as hope often swf players do compared to solo.
Spectate needs to be disabled, a swf of 2 can almost become 3 is one dies.
These are just simple idea, do I need to think the worst when no action is being discussed or taken?
-
Simply remove the burn from a flashlight... I mean, why and how?
-
As killer or survivor I play to win.
As killer you should be the terrifying overpowered monster.
As survivor I should be wanting to get out but want to hide from when he comes close.
This is what you would expect however BHVR are balancing the game that 2 escape and new players have an easy experience?😆
The top rank survivors are then playing easy mode so walk all over the killer.
Add solo survivors aren't balanced with swf comms and you're not even trying to do the basics except for this ...
Trying to give the music and feeling of terror but always be able to be one step ahead and it's you that gets punished if you make a mistake.
The magic is in the terror but nobody but new players are hiding and crouching, they are walking around, doing a gen/unhook in the killers face as they have ds,bt,sb,dh...
The game gives an impression of fear when the killers aren't op but the survivors.
How can people care to be a killer or even survivor when you work this out playing the game regularly
-
So I just ran Thana, pop, DL and sloppy.
Gens popped left right and centre, done in extra quick time against wraith.
As usual it was a 4 man SWF (def on comms)... Shall I just git good?😄😄😄

Not worried about this. SWF isn't as common as everyone thinks. It's just you remember those matches more often because they are usually painful. From my own experience Survivor side, you tend to run into 2-man groups more than 4-man coordinated jackal packs.
I play on the PS4 and regularly get 2x2, 4 and 3 SWFs?! I really would like to play those perks too as they would be powerful against solo survivors
