The changes are nice, but if this is all then I won't be all that impressed. I don't particularly like playing either of those killers and don't see the changes changing that.
I'll be particularly annoyed if we don't see any alteration to DH or CoH, or both, as they are clearly damaging the game and the enjoyment many players get out of it. We also largely have to wait for midchapters to see any perk changes, and the fact that none are mentioned would be a letdown, that's like 3 more months until any of this ######### even has a chance to be touched.
Also kind of sad there's no Sadako adjustments as she's in a really bad spot, but I know their policy is to leave things awful until the next midchapter.

Theres a hidden stamina mechanic I think, the more you run the louder your breathing and moans are (in actual volume, not in % so perks that reduce it dont really affect it). If you've dropped the killer stop running and crouch to quieten.
Of course some of the survivors are loud as ######### anyway.
There's no stamina as far as I've ever observed, but crouching reduces your injured noises by 50%.
That doesn't matter much when you play against killers who sound lady-of-the-night and can hear the slightest noise nearby.
-
I don't like running hugely meta perks, but on survivor Iron Will, simply because unlike any other perk in the game it opens up avenues for plays that simply don't exist otherwise. There's nothing worse than outplaying a killer in chase, only to have your survivor to choose that moment to moan loudly and pull them right back onto you.
These days I don't play killer without Franklin's Demise. Items in general have huge potential in matches, and being able to shut down strong things like medkits early, or remove the constant irritation of a flashlight, or have a saboteur be unable to retry their saboutage after you hit them is a great advantage. It's also amazing just how stupidly some players will play in order to go back for their dropped item.

Never watched Buffy, saw the movie and it was ok I think? (It was decades ago now 🤷♂️) So wouldn’t mean anything to me personally, but I get that it’s popular.
The movie is legitimately terrible, the TV show is where it's at.
-
I'd love a Buffy chapter, but this is FNAF levels of reaching for confirmation.
-
Can we get confirmation if you can just instantly restab survivor #4? Or do you have to refind one of the earlier survivors.
-
I just want traps to have better detection of when they're in a very narrow gap, and just block that whole gap. The fact that they can be one pixel too far to the left and survivors can run straight past them, but your fat ass gets stuck in them, is just terrible design.
-
I've heard of like 3 of them.
The Jersey Devil just seems too generic.
I don't see how survivors are gonna pick up a woman in white in their car.
So Mothman it is.

Sadako add-on useless.
Her Iridescent to switch TVs back on is great. Spreading Condemned through healing is too, and most of her add ons at least provide some useful stat change to her. Freddy's are all memes.
-
Freddy. Everything he has is worthless like "hear louder footsteps when they're asleep," "haemmorhage," "blindness." They were so scared of him being too strong that there's not a single add on outside of dream pallets that I find worth bringing.

Chrome is infamous for bad performance and high RAM usage. I use Microsoft Edge and it works fine.
I've always used Chrome, and I've never seen a website do this before.

Yep. Reported the same issue here.

No, there's nothing to fix.

Killer meta have more perks than survivors.
Survivor meta: IW, DH, DS, SB, UB, CoH
Killer meta: Ruin, Undying, Tinkerer, PR, DMS, Pop, BBQ, Corrupt, Deadlock, Pentimento, Plaything etc.
For me survivor meta more boring. Because always same perks.
And in each game you only have to deal with one meta build from the killer. The killer has to deal with 4 of the exact same clone build over and over.
-
It was one of the many nerfs they got all at once, and especially with how their power works now, makes no sense.
Why does it matter if you use your power after you just hit someone? Your power can't down so at worst you can deep-wound an already injured person.

I am done for Japan horror, we already have enough (Spirit, Oni and Sadako). I wanna see different killers from different zones. Germany, Africa, Maya or Aztec, Middle East etc.
Japan is enough.
I agree. I'd rather see other countries explored and see unique mythological creatures adapted. Anime horror is the peak of mediocrity and I sincerely hope the devs stay away from it.
-
No, because the killer has to stop and kick the gen every time they want to reapply it. Either they chase you because they found you on the gen, or they reapply Call of Brine, they can't realistically do both, so either they chase you and a teammate can repair the gen unhindered, or they reapply CoB which gives you plenty of time to go to a different gen.
It's not like old ruin which penalised every good skill check on every gen at once, and prevented gens getting repaired, being locked behind a kicking action makes it a mediocre benefit at best.

I dunno, Elodie's always been rocking a bit of a fivehead.

To be fair it’s often more entertaining than sitting on a gen.

Just play normally. I’m already half way done and haven’t tried once for the achievement.
Considering half the reason I'm playing survivor is to get the only achievement I don't have, no, don't think I will.

Thank you!
Was just asking, because I was curious. I thought they may have gone for meows as a Voiceover to imitate Cat Girls to press those Auric Cells out of those Weebs.
Nah, just BHVR's usual; awful colour scheme, visually noisey and directionless, and overpriced.
-
In general I don't enjoy playing with people who prefer stealth. In most cases it results in the rest of the team racking up hook states, and it's much less stressful to play a game where everyone has 1 hook state, vs having 2 people dead on hook in the same time.
A bit part is also that your team can't always see that you're doing gens. If you're dodging BBQ with lockers, then all the person getting hooked really sees is you running away from a gen then going into a locker while their time counts down. Even if you are doing the gens, it might not be apparent to others.
-
Billy. I am a chainsaw magnet.

@[Deleted User] said:
It'd be pointless as people would just camp the pallet and keep vaulting back and forth. That's assuming you can't start manifesting within the pallet, in which case it'd be busted, so still no.
Exactly. On pallets there'd be no way to play it where you'd get a hit, and breakable walls are so inconsistent between maps that it shouldn't be a balancing point for a power.
-
Good thing I don't use either.
I can ######### about both.
-
Meanwhile, I'm here doing nothing of value in matches because I'm trying to get points for the GODAWFUL Triage achievement.
-
I've noticed "boring" is what people say when they mean "nerf or remove it." It's such a vague criticism, as what some will find boring others won't, and especially what one side finds enjoyable due to it's strength is very likely to be called boring by the other side, as the either can't or refuse to play around it.
Ie. Noed. You have plenty of opportunity to prevent it ever spawning, but choose not to, so it's 'boring.'

Than aim? I don't even know what you just said
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2863450#Comment_2863450
Then that's a terrible design.
The goal is to create unique killers. If you want a killer that takes their time to aim singular projectiles, Huntress exists. Trickster is about throwing a lot of knives inaccurately.
-
Nah. His design is to throw lots of knives, they're intentionally not very accurate so that you lob a lot rather than throw one at a time and need every hit to count.
If you make him a 4.6 killer and make his power harder to get health states with, all that does is enoucrage people to not use his power at all, because if you run out of knives you may as well have just chased and M1ed in the first place.

Pretty sure it was about a lot of people using Hex: Ruin, so they nerfed it.
No, they were very clear back in the day that Ruin was nerfed because it was too punishing for newer players, while having only minor effect on higher tier players.
-
I would love an Until Dawn chapter with a Wendigo killer and Sam/Mike as survivors.
I know it'll never happen though, as the license is tied up in Playstation-only hell.
-
######### Feng gets more cosmetics in tomes than the characters the tomes are about.
Yun Jin's tome had 2 full outfits for Feng.
I just want some time where Feng sits in the ######### corner and thinks about what she's done while the other survivors get some attention.
-
Personally I agree. Never been a fan of Tinkerer proccing repeatedly because you can just clear survivors off and kick the gen, and be warned the next time anyone touches it.
-
Shirtless David when they nerfed his abs.
-
Regardless of movement speed, I think hexes that buff the killer rather than debuff the survivors would be interesting. It would give more utility to perks like Haunted Grounds, because just not seeing a hex affecting you wouldn't mean there isn't a hex in play worth cleansing.
-
I was expecting to be yesterday when I selected "finish repairing 3 generators in one match."
But then I finished all 5.
I still have no idea what my teammates were doing. Solo queue life.
-
This tome more than any other has felt like an absolute grind of non-challenges. It's not stuff I can build to do faster or better, it's just "play an excessive amount of matches."

@Sluzzy said:
"No fun, too much frustration, that's all you can say from a killer point of view. Sorry"
From a survivor perspective, so does enduring massive slowdown perks every game along with slugging, tunneling at 5 gens.
There are 5 players trying to enjoy the game, not just one.
The developers add another dead hard equivalent perk for killers in every update...something that slows the game down. Survivors get nothing that speeds it up.
Every meta survivor perk, DS, BT, DH, COH, all make it so survivors essentially have more health states so it takes longer to complete the objective as killer. As long as the meta is 4 survivors bringing 4 perks to give health states, the killers are cornered into stalling perks to drag the time dynamic back to baseline.
Dead Hard alone is a 50% 'stalling' perk for survivors that use it well, nothing on the killer side comes close to that. If we have to take chases that last 50% longer because you have 3 health states instead of 2, then yes, we're likely to put on as much slowdown as possible because gen speed isn't aimed at chases that last that long.
-
You said what we expect. Your list is what I'd like.
I expect:
Haddonfield is exaclty the same, but now has 40 breakable walls, all of which make loopis infinite until broken. Bonus points if there's still multiple windows to exit each house.
Legion and Ghostface get mostly add on changes, Legion is still ass, Ghostface still only uses recharge.
Dead Hard gets a very rough finger wagging and a telling off, is still disgustingly brainless and strong.
Circle of Healing untouched, because it's clearly so balanced.
A perk nobody uses is buffed to the point of being completely broken.
Other perks nobody use are buffed so slightly that their pick rate doesn't go up at all.
-
Late. I like to see them work really hard and get a lot of points, then when they get hooked they just saltily quit and throw it all away. Best is when it still counts as an on-hook kill so you don't lose anything.
It feels worse when it's early because you just steamroll the chumps they left behind, but if I had to play farmy every time someone quit then I just wouldn't get a normal game more than once a week or so.
-
I have all my killers (bar Sadako) at P3-50. Pig, Plague, Nurse and Trickster all have every perk maxed.
I have a survivor at P3-50, Quentin, with every perk maxed, and other survivors are anywhere between P0-40 and P3-50.
I am a firm believer that the grind should be reduced, and expect no form of "compensation." Improvements to the game, and any game, should not be hindered by an attitude of "it was difficult and unenjoyable for me, so it should be for future players." This is an attitude I've seen across many games, and I always despise it.
I hope the prestige system sees more of a reward and relevance, just so that it feels like a better thing to do, not so that I can hoarde those rewards, because currently there's little to no value when cosmetics largely outclass bloody defaults.
-
Just sheerly out of curiosity, are the people who are having trouble with this the same people who have had trouble getting shards for the Leatherface masks?
Just seems like in general they struggle to make drops happen when they they have to detect if players owned a killer at a specific point in time.
-
Truly the most broken add on in the game to date.
It was disgusting to play against, and the only "counter" (not including bringing specific perks in case you got bent over by this) was to gen tap which made everything take about 10 times as long.
The only time I would use it was for "grab survivors" tome challenges.
-
I agree, the only reason we have tome entries is because the observer keeps them, so it's not like his story is ever going to go anywhere.
He can't escape the realm or the tomes would end, so what's the point in listening to him whine about being trapped tome after tome.
-
Using a specific killer is not a solution to any game-wide problem.
Plague doesn't solve the healing meta.
Mobile killers don't solve the shift+w meta.
-
You say you're playing Sadako and trying to use manifestation to get hits around pallets.
That's why.
She's piss-weak against pre-dropping, and has no form of chase power to capitalise off the dropped pallet, or close the gap after breaking it. The more time you can waste the worse Sadako becomes, so you may as well pre-drop and watch her flail.

I think her TV cooldowns are her biggest issue. Her most fun and interesting part of her kit but both cooldowns are way to high. 60 seconds for survivors Turing them off is way to long and 100 seconds for you using your power is crazy as well.
I think they should add part of her iridescent as base kit.
The iridescent switches on 4 TVS that you teleported to, base kit it should be 1. That way you'd be rewarded for using TVs well, and keep pressure where pressure needs to be if you keep turning on one by a progressed gen. If you were too flippant about teleporting and didn't find people, you'd still be punished by the cooldown which would be better.
-
But "iT's A sEcReT."
At this point enough people have it that they should just confirm how it works so people know if it's bugged or they're doing something wrong.
-
I enjoy the mobility and getting the jump on people.
What I don't enjoy is that it's impossible to follow up on that, because either I'm treated to a world tour of pallets that she has nothing against, or because if I leave they're now in a complete safe-zone because of the disgusting cooldown on TVs.
The only matches I've hasd as her that I'd consider "fun" have been running her iridescent to switch TVs back on, and the add on which spreads condemned when they heal each other.
-
Absolute trash in most cases.
Completely broken on maps with stupid totem spawns, like upstairs of the Ironworks or two-storey maps.
