I'm finding them very oppressive, there isn't much you can do while they keep frenzying, gens can't get done, the match gets prolonged, especially as they get faster towards the 8th hit, they are making me really dislike playing 2v8 currently ESPECIALLY with how trash the servers hit validation/desync is.
I've played as them a few times also and I just think the information and pressure they bring is just too much for this mode in the sense of a support esque killer class and needs toned down.Hes terrible

2v8 is so very different than regular DbD that the pipping system that we have in game, does not carry over onto the game mode. There's no plans for this to change in the present time on this mode, given that the perametres as so different.
Can it be made a thing? Or can rank reset be pushed when events like this arise? Ik ending the monthly grade on the 13th is more of a theme sorta thing, but people want their bloodpoints, and because of this gamemode no one in normal queues can find a match to increase their grades
One of the best parts abt grade reset is you get a high bp count instantly, rather than spending your bp for long periods of time when close to max or hitting max. This is also why the bp cap should be removed, so people don't have to take time away from the game to spend bp. If you made bp so that it was like a bank of sorts, that increased with everygame and your grade, we could get all of it at the beginning of a new month with no cap, and spend it accordingly. I feel like most people would prefer a larger amount at once than smaller amounts they have to spend ti get more

You get hit from the moon on your own servers is what I'm saying, nothing about survivor vs killer. I play loads of survivor and I dont want to play. I'm not asking you to adopt my opinion so please don't say yours is fact either.
I find 2v8 boring with the additions they've made and the poor optimisation of the networking, it's even worse than 1v4. I wanted to enjoy it and i'm just not enjoying it.
As time goes on only sweaty killers are willing to give that much time to be in a queue, because they are the ones with that much time to waste.
Not even 400 percent is enticing. The ping on both sides is only a result of the game grabbing players outside of your region since they need more survivors or killers to move along with the queue line up
People give their time to the long ass queue because playing killer is just more fun than playing survivor. Who has 7 friends they can play with? Who wants to play with 7 strangers who are likely deluded solo queue teammates and don't know what they're doing? Even though that isn't the case, as even teams with 2 bots have 8 outted
I for one think playing the stronger role for a massive reward is very enticing
These are all, kinda facts icl. The main point being survivor is still the stronger role, so why are people using bots as an excuse to not play it. Thats the whole reason this chain reaction of survivors to killers ratio sucking wven happened

If that was true, every one would be wanting to play it.
It gets a bad wrap because of bots, which are not the problem with the gamemode. The problem is the lack of mmr and the fact that you can get paired with random people across the world rather than your own region. Because of this, no one has any hope of escaping, even though its really not that hard at all to beat two low mmr/high ping killers that likely play Wesker and Nemesis Free To Play (trial machanic) which itself is another problem.
Letting people play a killer they have no idea how to play, in a gamemode where your power is heavily relied on, was a terrible idea. Most RE killer teammates i get barely get infections or can't hit tier 3 within the first few minutes, which shouldn't be happening since its a target rich environment
The gamemode is obviously survivor sided. A single gen at the start can be popped within 15 seconds, due to gens taking only 80 seconds in this gamemode and the fact that guide is overpowered if you can hit greats with multiple people stacking, which happens to two gens every game
You can also now heal yourself and lose cage stages completely for free, with the very common herbs found in the trial
Healing is already super quick, which makes some of the current roster, completely useless, since they can't make back their progress as fast after losing a survivor briefly. This includes; Legion and trapper, the two worst killers in 2v8 right now.
The only killer that makes the gamemode somewhat more balanced, is wesker, since he forces a secondary objective onto survivors. Unless they want to risk going down way faster to either killers. Also running both RE killers is a huge nerf since you can relieve yourself of both infections with one of 3 charges out of the 8 sprays. the secondary objective that should be there for both killers, is gone
The bots do as they're intended, but play lore accurately to how dbd was intended to be played. They do gens, help teammates, and thats it. They're not supposed to be good in chase, even though they're great at robbing LOS and spam vaulting out of chase due to their wall hacks on all interactables and players. They also don't stealth as often as people think, they don't run right when the terror radius is hit, they run at abt 12 meters and crouch beside the objective or interaction they were doing, which is completely, mid experienced player behavior
People need to stop complaining abt survivor, when in the second variation of 2v8, it was perfect. It only got better, so stop begging on your knees for buffs when your lack of enjoyment is likely a skill issue. Not ruling out anyone, there are alot of factors, but likely its a skill issue

Who's we? Your alt accounts?
So then why do Killers slug? Why does that P100 Blight slug at 5 gens or why does the p100 Nurse slug at 5 gens? In fact, why is every Killer in DBD constantly slugging…. or camping/tunneling if they even do hook? Why in comp DBD, is the Killer pretty much required to tunnel out one player in a nerfed SWF?
The game balance will always be ######### if SWF are not brought back down to earth where the rest of Survs play, which is why this game has gotten more unpleasant as time has gone on. You're all aware of that though, you just ignore it because you want your current power role playing with friends, I'm not going to be bullied by people like you for simply stating reality.
I agree, swfs need to be nerfed and so do gen speeds. But at the same time as these changes, anti slug and tunnel machanics need to be implemented so all boring playstyles on both sides are gone

it wastes survivor time and there is a 2nd killer, hardly that it doesnt work, sure if you are a solo queue killer yes. But with a friend its strong.
Also changed my opinion about 2v8, it's ######### the servers and killer choices added with more time with it are awful and I'm happy if I never see it again. not fun to play as survivor.Survivor is fine, its just the terrible queue system giving you people in different regions and less skilled players that causes the common misconception that survivor is worse.
Legion wastes little to no time attempting to travel across the map multiple times for a single down, losing all their injuries in the process. It doesn't help that every teammate killer you get runs the shadow class and completely counters your power because they don't read what it does and just play and waste your time after queuing for ages.
With a friend, thats still not gonna help with the positioning of the survivors, the maps are huge and you can't force them closer to a legion when theres so many pallets for them to use where they are
Legion right beside nemesis and trapper, are the weakest killers in the mode right now. Wraith, Nurse, Blight and Wesker dominate either being already strong before getting innate buffs, or their buffs were insane, like Weskers and Wraiths

Bots and huge incentives wouldn't be needed if the survivors role was fun and skill based.
Saying they don't need buffed is wild.
They don't, the mode is survivor sided. Period

No it wasn't, hes still terrible. Needing to get more hits before an insta down is actually a huge nerf, since healing is si easy in this gamemode. Theres no point in spreading injures ir playing hit and run, because it won't work

Everyone's least favourite Killers are going to make it into 2V8 some day (license issues notwithstanding). Some of mine have been in the mode since day 1!
The funny thing is, when compared to the other Killers added to 2V8 Legion have kinda been nerfed. With 9 hits to get a down and a reduced mend time, BHVR have been relatively conservative with their power. They have the same weaknesses as in 1V4. Lots of map pressure but no lethality. The other Killer really needs to be pulling their weight to capitalise on any injured Survivors. They're only strong if their partner is strong.
From the reaction of a lot of forum members, I feel like a lot of players would hate any version of Legion being in 2V8. They could make time spent mending progress a random gen and give Survivors base-kit MFT and some players would still hate going against a Legion.
Lately I've been thinking alit abt Houndmaster and Freddy and how goated that combo would be. Pulling survivors into a pallet rupture would be pretty cool

@mecca said:
Zero survivor buffs btw. Zero new stuff to play with. Giving only blood points is not suddenly going to make survivor so fun people want to play it. This should be figured out by now.
Survivor doesn't need a buff, they need to fix the bots coding in order to make having two ai players acceptable compensation for queue times

On a personal level the yellow herbs bug us a bit but they're overall fine for the mode. We wouldn't want them in normals but a nice chaotic mode like this doesn't do much harm and killers can break them as well so theres that wonky balancing act. Strangely despite claims from the above we've yet to see a bot actually use them.
Oh they use greens quite often, tho I've never seen them use a yellow before. I think they're coded to be more empathic anyway, so they could be ignoring them on purpose for players to use them

How does the bug happen? I've never experienced it before. All I've heard is your forced to dc since egc can't kill the survivor

I know, bot discussion and complaining about Legion are much more fun, but how do people feel about the herbs?
Because I kind of hate them as a game addition.
The original idea seemed like a new survivor mechanic, but it doesn't really seem to work out.
Green herb problems: healing doesn't take very long in this mode, usually when you spot an herb you are already healthy, and spending time when injured to get back to that spot is risky as the herb will probably be gone.
Yellow herb problems: finding one when you need it is extremely rare. And if you do, it seems unfair to killers. The two times I've managed to actually use one it was because my cage basically spawned on top of a yellow herb. Free hook state, total chance.
They more seem to be giving killers boosts of speed than being used by survivors. As killer I'll stomp on a few throughout the match and the haste bonus to my teammate seems pretty significant.
Are other people's experience different? Maybe BHVR's intention was for them to be nothing more than a luck based, random thing that will disappear in future 2v8. Because right now they seem like a slightly killer sided boost that can swing heavily in the survivors favor if they get lucky on where their cages spawn.

Well the themed gamemode needed some unqiue machanic to keep people attracted to survivor, and they just make the role a whole lot worse for killers if your team is good enough to use the yellows. Most people don't bother looking for them, or just using them when they appear which is a big mistake. Losing a stage for free is a pretty broken feature, better than shoulder the burden, and with 0 downside.
If they plan to keep this macahnic in with a new visual, there needs to be a risk factor to using it, maybe exposing the survivor which would essentially cause no downside and no upside. They should also inform all players when a stage is lost
Personally after taking chase for 7 minutes total in one game of 2v8, roughly 3.5 minutes each killer, getting targetted is inevitable, I found a yellow after my first long chase with a wesker, and boy was he unhappy to see that i was 1st stage again after spending 5 gens worth of time chasing one guy and not even infecting them.
Herbs should also have a cooldown before reappearing, and should also warn players of their presence universally. They can also give all players the aura of them, then we can see both roles clash for that sweet herb if they want ut so badly.
Yellow Herbs could have a more unique effect on killers, a speed boost feels boring comapred to the free health state and stage loss survivors get. Maybe yellows cause random survivors to become injured, like a poisonous herb in a way, or they can reveal the auras of all survivors for 20 seconds instead, something busted for all killers to access equally, and broken enough as losing a stage

Its not that MMR is lacking, its that it takes so long to find a match that MMR spreads it out more and more to find players so by the time you get the match MMR is doing nothing.
Its a mix of both, also explains why you can get survivors out of your region. The game is trying super hard to get everyone a match, so bad that it'll just take anyone and throw them in high ping, high mmr lobbies

DBD just put out there announcement within the last hour about 2v8 and are making changes to it to compare data. On phone so can't exactly link the proper announcement or copy/paste but here's the points.
- Feb 14th 11am EST.
- Triple XP for all players/modes
- %400 blood point gains for survivors
- Reduce # of bots to 1 max per game
- Monday 17th
- Analysis the weekend data share the results.
- Deactivate all bots in 2v8 for 2 days for comparison data.
Thoughts on this?
Cool, i guess. Bots aren't really the problem though with 2v8, its the lack of mmr

Been wanting this since i started watching the show. Imagine a survivor who isn't too different from the killers, voicelines would reflect Dex's temptations to let his teammates die, and his interaction with certain killers methods of killing. Why would we be trying to push Kill Rates up further?
So far as we know, they are already high enough.
Making Survivors have even less time to do anything but gens will only increase how fast gens go.
Cats out of the bag, so to speak. Both sides are playing as competitively as they can. That's on BHVR. The removal of all the BS both sides could do also means there's very little swing in matches. Once one side starts winning, they usually just stomp. Almost no chance to comeback and right now, that favors Killers.
Either way, BHVR either need to commit to MMR and make the game competitive or back it off.
I was thinking more abt individual killers, Nurse and Blight already being able to 4k every single game cus of their stupidly broken kits, wouldn't be affected. But overtime, all s tier killers should be nerfed and d-c killers should be buffed. Anti tunnel and anti slug should also be implemented. Theres alot of balancing problems with dbd rn

This to me seems incredibly strange but somewhat telling
Remember when they said they think DBD is a 1v1v1v1v1?
Also, I heard that You can't request your MMR anymore
They apparently consider your MMR a trade secret and something that you absolutely cannot have
I knew BHVR likes to take the easy way But not even putting in a Proper MMR Rating system meant for a 1V4 is kinda beyond pathetic
So you saw Choy's video. This really was an eye opener on how stupid this games "rating system" not ranked is so flawed. Requesting mmr was essentially pointless since its not accurate information, you can't base skill off of a 1v1v1v1v1.

They should fix all the bs thats in the game rn, theres enough swing created from playing against different killers and perks already that no ones gonna miss these almost unrecoverable playstyles. ...without turning it into a 2v6 with bots everywhere.
I won't go into a rant about how predictably bad the bot-fills ended up being, and instead offer constructive feedback on how we could reduce the queue times without adding bots into it. So...
Solution 1: Quick Play
• In older versions of DbD, there was an option to play a random role in exchange for faster queue times. It did eventually get removed because of how little it was used.
• This feature could be reimplemented into the game, exclusively for the 2v8 mode, with a small change: as a reward for using it, you would either recieve a small amount of iridescent shards or a bonus to XP gains from the trial.
• Iridescent shards are particularly hard to gain in this game, so a way to get more of them would, in my opinion, be very welcome.Solution 2: Priority Tickets
• This is likely the solution most of you have heard of, and would be most likely to be put in.
• It could work like this: after playing a certain amount of matches as a survivor (without DCs, of course), you would get a priority ticket, which would considerably shorten your waiting time next time you queue up as the killer.
• This would motivate a lot of people who don't want to wait for upwards of 20 minutes for a killer game.
• There is a small risk of it making queues even longer for those who don't have a ticket, so I'd be wary of that.Solution 3: New Features
• This is the simplest solution, as it would likely happen anyway, but it's becoming a priority now because of everything.
• Add more survivor classes (this is an older post made by MintskullYT, with some neat ideas)https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/1J3G7M8CLI7D/img-20250210-190801.jpg
• Add new optional side objectives (similar to how you added herbs for the RE iteration if 2v8)
• Increase bloodpoint gains in the trial (wouldn't be the most impactful, but it'd be nice)Solution 4: Preference System
• This one could be quite controversial, and turn away some people, so I wouldn't use it first.
• Friday the 13th: The Game had a system which would first create a full lobby, and then randomly pick one of the players as the killer. A similar system could be implemented into 2v8.
• The players would be unable to guarantee what role would they be, only select which one they'd prefer.Thoughts?
I feel like the problem with #4 is alot of people would want to dc if they didn't get killer.
I think they should add proximity chat, affecting all players. It would be really nice to hear your teammates, almost enough of a convincing upside to the already survivor sided gamemode, that can attract and keep survivor players interested, without making gens fly any faster for killers.
Ontop of that, bots need to be studied, literally. Their behaviour seems oddly lore accurate to have the devs invisioned DBD be played. They should let players first off see their bot teammate's class before a match starts (atm you can't), they should play more aggressively rather than passively keeping the team alive with altruism, and they need to have their bugs fixed, like; ineractables bug, outlandish pathing away from resources sometimes, their ability to know where the killer is at all times (causes things like ghostface getting revealed from across the map in rare cases bad)
Otherwise, 2v8 is in its most balanced state, but still surv sided

This is the worst version of 2v8 experience I've ever had. I have to wait for 20 minutes to find one lobby only to get genrushed and the match ends in 5 minutes... If BHVR objective is to make me stop playing killer, congratulations, It's working. Not even on 1v4 I get genrushed this much. Sorry if this Just sounds like a killer mais weeping, but guess what? Aside from maybe Huntress, Nemesis definitely feels like the worst killer in 2v8. His playstyle of having to infect survivors first, before being able to hit them with his power is far too slow for a fast-paced mode like 2v8. Beyond that, the fact that survivors can get vaccinated feels much worse in this mode, since you are going after a multitude of targets that you don't usually go in regular mode.
Sure, Nemesis can be a support killer like Legion, Trapper, or Wraith. The zombies should help him apply pressure, but their issue is more accentuated in this mode because of the large map size. If two slow zombies feel very underwhelming on a map like Nostromo Wreckage, they basically do nothing in 2v8's bigger map sizes. His infection is actually the only part of his kit which is kinda decent since both killers being notified when a survivor takes a vaccine is good information and helps them with a quick tunnel, but Wesker does the same thing, and he doesn't need to infect survivors before being able to damage them with his power.
You should watch Mintskull's new 2v8 tierlist video, he explains very well which killers are good and which aren't. Nemesis is listed as #10 or 9 from what i remember, he isn't too good and has 0 unique and meaningful changes, his basekit numbers essentially just got increased.
-
This game is no longer fun as killer because you can just start the match and the survivors are already done doing the Gens
Gen speeds, similar to my feedback last month. There needs to be something else for survivors to do that is required to progress the game in their favor.
Adding generator parts seems like a nice way to make survivors spend more time on potentially riskier progression, and likely forcing chases to find your next objective. This could also indirectly reduce the effectiveness of bully squads since they actually need to part ways with their teammates to move along in the game. After installing the part, the gen would no longer regress past a certain point, so they didn’t just waste time for nothing.
This would give just enough time for killers to slow the game down, just a lil bit, by intercepting attempts to find a part, while ensuring that finding and installing a part can't be completely undone.

I haven't seen this bug once but if ur still seeing it within 12 hours of the patch, then ig they just lied abt removing like they have with a few bugs lately.
I have "no deal" you've seen me discussing a single situation in multiple posts yes, in which from what i have seen on both sides, isn't occurring. And in a newer post i made, i proved that 1) survivor is the better role still, And 2) Bots are in fact not a downside. The point I was making is that dismissing criticism just because some people don’t struggle isn’t a good argument. And I was using killer winstreaks as an example for that point.
DBD is a game where skill alone can only get you so far, as it heavily relies on RNG. Bots are apart of that RNG, and to a large majority of players, it's a negative one. Think of it like getting a map with poor locker distribution everytime as Dredge. Does it mean there is no chance of winning? Of course not. But your chances are now slimmer regardless of your personal skill. For a dedicated Dredge main, it may not affect them. But majority who play Dredge are not dedicated mains, so they will struggle, and the struggle is unnecessary, just like the addition of the bots.
Bots do not have to exist in 2v8, they were implemented in an effort to help with wait times which hasn't worked. That was the entire purpose of them. The addition that a large majority of players feel that bots are not good teammates, make the change feel even more unnecssary, because not only did it fail to do what it was designed to do, but it made the overall experience worse for many people.
In any case, I'll end this here. Hopefully I clarified my post for you to better understand. We can both respectfully agree to disagree, as I've said my perspective and you have said yours.
Gliyn!

By that same logic, should we dismiss anyone struggling with killer because some players have 1000+ win streaks with Nurse or Blight? Or struggles with Clown or Cenobite because there are win streaks in the 100+? If someone out there is succeeding, does that mean no one else’s struggles or criticisms are valid?
Bots are designed to fail skill checks. They’re better than no player at all, but ignoring the majority of criticisms just because you personally don’t have an issue with them isn’t how balance works or how changes to games are considered/made.
The point is, doing badly is your own fault. Nurse and blight are insane, theres no excuse why you should be losing, unless your a console blight, then your controls are quite limited. Also, why would they dismiss other players because of nurse and blight? Im not wven sure what you're trying to say, maybe theres a language barrier that idk abt, but that does not sound right.

Maybe we can get the 5v5 mode from the past survey next
now that sounds ridiculous. Very bad queue times I'd predict. Killer would be way better than survivor

Hes the one who sounds disgusting

Want to hear what the general consensus is: Is it a pure crutch perk for Killers to avoid using? Is it fine in some builds or specific killers? Fine to have, but not to build or rely on? Something else?
Only change I'd recommend is that the killer can't see the totem's aura OR The hex transfers to a new totem when the killer is too close to it for too long. If there aren't any left, the perk would go on cooldown after a insta down

The counterplay is beings split up, he injures quickly, but can't down you unless he ends power and becomes a basic m1 killer. He seems stronger because of your teammates not splitting up

Legion is a breath of fresh air to me compared to Wraith. I enjoy bullying Legion players
Thats what im saying, he really isn't overtuned in any way. Plus, everyone who plays him kinda sucks and doesn't understand you need to hit everyone to make him useful

They have been incredible, why the sarcasm?

People are more motivated by negative experiences than they are positive ones. The forums makes it look like everyone is upset, but the players who are having a good time are busy playing the game. So they're not here to balance out all the complaints.
Glad you are having a good time.
Very True

"bots actually do useful things and typically disregard their own safety over doing gens or helping teammates." Sorry, what? Are we playing the same game mode? Bots immediately scatter at the faintest sound of a terror radius and immediately take exit gates/hatches despite players still alive in need of unhooking. And if you're too far away from a bot forget about being rescued lol.
Bots also play like they have emotions and brains to be quite frank. They're not gonna traverse the whole map in egc to dave you, a player wouldn't even do that, its too much of a gamble. Also, bots from my experience, only flee when a killer is within 12 meters of them,
