I honestly have no idea why more people are not using it. it is insanely strong.
There are a few outside factors that decide the efficiency of Lucky Break.

I'm sorry, do I look like a cold, dead cuck of a survivor who wants to slam gens? Or do I want to actually have fun?
Okay if you want to preserve that Lucky Break so much go ahead. But I get annoyed if my teammates do what you shouldn't do against certain killers.

Yeah, all of that only really burns through about half of it, if that.
You heal against a Legion? Or cleanse to preserve the Lucky Break?

No perk in the entire game is 100% useful in every game, but yes, even agasint Legion, Plague and Bubba I've gotten decent use, which is more than I can say for even Old DS.
How when two injure you so easily. And one primarily looks for instant downs? And can burn the seconds quite easily since.

It is one of the most consistent perks I've ever used. 45 seconds is fine. If I bring a brown medkit that's a guaranteed two uses if I want to play stealthy.
Even against Legion, Plague, or a Bubba?

30 - Make him start with all his traps. he still needs to pick them up to move them somewhere else.
But he won't need to cross the entire map to grab a trap that spawned in a corner or play with one less trap the entire match.
make it so you can't dead hard over a trap.
traps are darker by default. like, half as dark as they are with the tar bottle.
disarming a trap has a chance of traping the survivor (like 4%... same as unhooking yourself). just so there's some risk involved in disarming a trap.
I think that's enough.
also, not related to trapper himself... but can we please have more grass on maps?
31.Another criticism is that many killers are simply junky. Huntress has hitboxes, Ghost face what is and isn't coming out of night shroud. Hillbilly and Oni's camera. And some more examples. How important is it to fix these clunky killers?
-
Got to agree should've been out up to 60 seconds since there's many factors that reduces Lucky Breaks efficiency. You need Iron Will, map could have no LOS breaker, also if it's Legion, Plague or an instant down killer not too useful.

29 - I would make it so he already starts in tier 2. And survivors regenerate their "stalk meter" over time.
Scratched mirror gives you tier 1 as an added effect.
Tombstone piece is way too strong and needs to change.
And I think that's enough. I would test it like this before giving him any new power.
30.Then there's the most outdated killer Trapper the poster boy he's in a rough spot only receiving QOL. But no major buffs while reworked maps have treated him harshly. He is always dependent on the best perks and add-ons. What would you do to make him viable and content in modern DBD?
-
It's the only way the devs can nerf her. And make sure there aren't too many Nurses.
-
Requires the user to not be P3 corner care Claudette,
-
Once all the old maps are reworked and new maps with the new standard for DBD maps get rolling out I'll expect them to remove Bloodlust 3 definitely. But keep bloodlust 1. Not sure if they'll remove Bloodlust 2 however.
-
It's most likely they'll go classical in Nemesis or Mr.X even someone like myself unfamiliar with Resident Evil realizes they'd likely bring in more of a audience.

I bet a fair amount will join still. Though I do believe a big part is how much will the other characters and gameplay of DBD appeal to RE fans to keep them playing. Since unlike Silent Hill which hasn't had a game in a while. Resident Evil keeps getting a steady stream to keep their fans busy.

29. One of the killers criticized as the most outdated is Myers is it is viewed that his base is outdated and his add-ons too strong. But they devs renewed the license. And possibly the last Mid-Chapter to have the realm beyond is upcoming. What should the devs do to make Myers viable and up to standards of modern DBD?

Every tournament allows blight and J-flicks.
They allow it since it has Counterplay aswel,
And it's still not an exploit if it's not counterable...
Stretch res is consider an Exploit however.
Uncounterable to say the least,
So doing something to the gameplay outside of what the devs intended is not an exploit? And Blight would still have that spot without J-Flick

27 - I believe not reverting bad changes, is what sets a bad precedent.
overheating made billy not fun for most of the people that played him, and now you rarely see a hillbilly. enough time has passed for we to properly see the effects of his changes.
I'll always take "We tried this thing, but it didn't work so we are changing it back" over "We tried this thing. It's staying!"
28. Do you believe if the changes were reverted Hillbilly would gain back more players despite the new competition he faces on some of his areas of attack?

Exhaustion perks how though? And healing perks / medkits are good against hit & run Wraith but he also doesn't need to be that now.
I think his cloaked speed was a bit overbuffed actually. He's still weak on really strong tiles with multiple usable features, like party bus, but it's easy mode at most other tiles. Purple windstorm always felt like easy mode before and now he basically gets that base kit, plus perfect invisibility outside of 20m.
What exhaustion perks allow is for you to get away from an unsafe area to an area that Wraith is essentially powerless. Sprint Burst the prime example say you did everything right sneaking up on the player in the unsafe area on Autohaven. You go up suddenly perfect hit but then they Sprint away before you can uncloak. So no hit and now they're at fun bus where you're power won't do anything. Not to mention they now are aware you're Wraith without getting a hit in to slowdown and can already prepare accordingly without you getting any damage in.

Billy Has access to his power at the start. Oni doesn't. He has to work it for AND can be countered easily by pre-dropping,
No addons can save him from survivors pre-dropping against an oni. denying him not only a hit BUT wasting time aswel.
Clown has Better Anti-loop + Better addons than Wraith. plague and legion, Hell even better than Bubba.
Slinger has faster down potential and can instantly injure without trying. plus it's hard to counter a quickscoping slinger,

Hag is easily countered my guy...
Not even scrollwheel saves her from good Coordinated teams that hugs the edge of the map + activates all of her traps mid-chase or mid-animation

I meant to put plague higher than legion before i saved the tier list. Since she can run Oil + the very rare addon which i forgot what it was called.
People are stubborn as hell to believe Hag is better than Blight.. in which case she isn't...

Wraith will still be countered by good survivors my guy. there is no Denying it, no matter how quickly he can even catch up to you.
He does not have Enough map pressure to make up for that loss of distance. Especially good pathing by survivors.

They do have addons. But Blight J-flick carries him. and topknot is waaaay too op,
Blight doesn't need J flick to be where he is. And it's still odd that an exploit counts while an in game add-on does. And what tournament would allow an exploit to be in play?

27.There are calls to revert Hillbilly's changes or at least make him less janky. Should the devs consider cleaning him, reverting changes or would it set a bad precedent?

It boosted my confidence, so yes.
so much. besides optimization(the obvious one), there's the smaller things... the fact you can't even navigate the menus with the d-pad is really annoying. it takes so long to just pick perks and addons...
also no m+kb support.
edit - also we don't have end game chat yet for some reason...
26.Huntress recently had solely her add-ons passed no longer is there Iri-Head and Infantry belt. Exhaustion for 5 seconds instead of 1:30. With some neat ones in hatchet speed. But many once again pointed out why did this happen to Huntress and not Hillbilly. Does this show inconsistency on the devs part. Or did they listen to the community from the last mistake? And knew to keep Huntress's base the same.

25.Blight had his J-Flick exploit removed but for an even better return of now is turning is proper for console. Did this boost console players confidence in the devs? But is more still needed to improve the quality of console old and new?
-
It should loose the basic attack requirement it's dumb. The perk already has to deal with a 40 second cooldown and 32 meter range limit. And its current affect is good saves time having to kick gens and helps with area control. But it's not overbearing and would be good to diversify some killers from only running Ruin or PGTW.
-
Exhaustion perks, Healing perks, and Med-kits still pose a challenge for him.

what is wraith gonna do? go invisible, try to get a free hit, maybe chase after.
myers? stalk to tier 2, 99% tier 3, tap tier 3 and down.
doctor will zap you so you can't drop a pallet or vault.
each killer has their gameplan, and they will follow it.
Very few killers can make significant changes on the fly.
Hag can change where and when she put her traps. so instead of using the trap to teleport, it's to move the survivor camera and make them run weird for a sec.
Nurse can stop predicting and just blink to corners(or the other way around).
but how is wraith changing his gameplan mid match? Approuch from the left instead of the right? Sure it's a change, but he's still doing the same thing.
I don't think this makes any of them boring. but when you boil down a killer to "he does X until he hits you, and then he repeats", you see that almost every killer will fit in this. so it's a moot point.
Freddy just gets more hate on this than other killers. probably because of how effective he is at it.
24.On the topic of Wraith he recently got the long awaited dream of Windstorm base along with a lunge. But many are now bombarding Wraith saying he is now too much. Lunge too effective at many loops. Too fast catching up too survivors easily. And even stronger with perks and add-ons. Many are saying Wraith is now on the level and even better then Huntress and Oni. Do you believe Wraith is or isn't too strong?

I don't really agree with this "rather boring undynamic playstyle" thing, because when you think about it, that's 80% of the killers.
I think the slowdown is good, but reducing the snares and pallets does basically nothing.
but I don't think they should rework him again. it would be an unending cycle of reworking the same character again and again forever because some people would always dislike the result no matter what.
also, when you rework a character like this, you basically delete the old character and replace him with a new one. and I don't think this should be something you do carelessly.
it worked for bubba, he still feels like the same character, but more powerful and fun. Freddy feels very different from his older self, (like devil may cry Dante and DMC Dante, for example) and that's not necessarily good or bad, but really should be avoided.
what freddy needs is an addon pass. give him stuff that changes his powers in more interesting ways. (and maybe one ultra-rare that reverts him back to old freddy. some people would like that).
23.You said 80 percent of the killers are undynamic why is that?
-
At the moment since Spirit has no feasible counter play she remains ahead of Blight. But, if Spirit gets a nerf Blight will pass her.
-
Well I'm torn if you decide to include the Blight J flick an exploit and not add-ons in game like scalped top knot.
-
Seems pretty accurate.
-
He's not good he's terribly outdated and his power and add-ons show this. but I wouldn't say he is the worst. I would say Trapper or Legion instead.

Will they? doubt it.
Let's move on to the present
22.Freddy recently received a nerf. Reduction in snare and pallet count and nerf of slowdown add-ons. Many called this change lazy and didn't fix the core issue of his rather boring undynamic playstyle. Should the devs give Freddy another rework to fix these issues?

Only the few god pallets on badham are safe against him and once they're gone he can get you around every other loop.
His speed boost can make him get past you and block the windows easily on the chapel.
In the game with the add on to break pallets quickly he can chew through them and then be blocking the next pallet before the survivor can get to it. I've watched Tru3talent play him on stream without the add on and he's dominated good survivors and was able to bodyblock most loops because of his speed and even admitted he got ridiculous hits because of his lunge.
Even the house of pain?

I mean yes. I think I said that in literally every post I've said lol. Add ons and perks push him over the edge in to being pretty high tier. On top of his uncloak lunge speed that isn't even neccesary.
Base tier wraith - Solid B tier
Buffed wraith with all seeing spirit and purple swift hunt - Somewhere in mid A-Tier.
So new Wraith is the new Freddy. A balanced base but over the top with add-ons and perks. So what do you want to make Wraith fair. Which do you want to nerf his base, add-ons, or perks?

@miketheratguy said:
This is my honest, objective experience with The Wraith, so I hope to answer the question as best as I can:
I've been playing the game for only two months. In that first month I found the Wraith really solid. Fun to play as, as well as against. His powers were impressive, but there felt like enough balance to keep him in check. Yes, he's invisible and yes, he's super fast, but that bell - which I thought was a really cool bit of character flavor as well as an ingenious bit of balance - made it so that if you heard it, you still had a chance to get away.
I don't know what happened but I now despise the Wraith. I absolutely cannot stand him. He seems just plain ridiculously OP to me. There are two reasons for this: He seems to have lost the cooldown between when he hits his bell to uncloak and can begin moving again, OR the slowldown that he previously experienced when coming out of cloaking was greatly reduced. Additionally, I've played two matches against him where there was no bell. I thought that this was a glitch, but was told that no, he can now play in such a way that he can uncloak silently.
IF both of these things are true, then we had a killer who could be invisible and incredibly fast BUT had to dramatically slow down and loudly announce his presence when he was preparing to strike, to a killer who can be invisible and incredibly fast AND does not considerably slow down nor need to announce his presence when he uncloaks. In the past I felt that I had at least a fifty/fifty chance of getting away from him when I spotted his blur coming or heard his bell. Now, it has gotten to the point that even if I see his blur rushing in and take off out of the room before he's even begun uncloaking, I still get smacked almost immediately. Then there are the times when I didn't hear a bell and just didn't happen to be looking in his direction when he came flying toward me, so I went from moving around and / or trying to get something done to BOOM, now I'm being attacked out of nowhere. There's no counter to that. People say "oh, just make sure you're always against a wall or window. Well, I can't really make the game service me in that way.
Long story short, I thought that Wraith was solid middle to upper tier. Easy to use, but quite possible to still counter or evade. Now, in my experience, he cannot be properly countered or evaded. I hate him. People want to disconnect when they see The Spirit, I want to disconnect when I see the Wraith. I'd honestly rather face the Spirit to be honest. At least in her case there are various tells. I feel like I have a chance. In the Wraith's case it feels like a literal example of - and I have been avoiding this word as long as possible - legitimate imbalance. They tipped things just enough in his favor to make fighting him way too unpredictable, at best, or way too unfair, at worst.
Yes while new Wraith is annoying I still find him counterable. Yes he gets that first hit easily with the lunge and speed. But after that first hit what can he do assuming there isn't a good pallet or window nearby which is less impactful now or an exhaustion perk in play to make your effort to get that first hit vanish. What you're now aware of where he is and will position yourself to be able to quickly vault or drop something to counter him. While his hit run is threatened by good healing perks and med-kits. So in my opinion Wraith can be viewed as the new Freddy depeding on how you view him after his nerf. Definitely annoying with gameplay not too dynamic. But still balanced.
-
@Kirkylad said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2179242#Comment_2179242
A lot of loops are unsafe especially with his lunge right now. Every wraith I'm going against now is just cloaking straight away after hitting you because they know they can be straight back on you and down you with his lunge unless you manage to get to a safe loop, but then you have to drop the pallet instantly and then once it's gone you're screwed, especially because a decent wraith will go past you and bodyblock any nearby vault.
So on the loops of Badham, the Windows of chapel, or the pallets on the game. Wraith who you will be aware is about to uncloak and visually see uncloaking one of the best to deal with this map.

Just compounding your posts. As long as add ons exist and I can use them. They count. But I freely admit base ONI is better. Because of course he is. But with add ons ? It's close IMO.
As far as snowballing. You don't need a one shot to start a snow ball, and turn the odds in your favor. I wish I would of recorded it. I'd post it for you. But I didn't.
I downed someone and hooked them. All seeing spirit showed me my next victim...Went and got my free hit. They were running to a place I had already broken a pallet and dropped chase earlier. I downed them in about 20 ish seconds.. So atm I have one hooked and one down. That means 3 currently are not on gens. Assuming someone is going for the hooked person(they were) So as I picked up..The other hook was saved. So I hook and go back. And thanks to the power of sloppy butcher. They were still there trying to heal. I smacked the person who was unhooked. Since they were still injured and BT was up. Chased the other person since they didn't get far...So the count now is one hooked..One downed..One being chased. That means the 4th has to go for the save and no one is on gens..They got the save right as I hit the person I was chasing...And that's how you start your snowball. They stalled at 2 gens left from that sequence of events. And stayed at 2 gens even after they "recovered"
You can snowball without an insta down but it's most effective if you do. So based on what I've seen a lot of people are saying it's less base Wraith and the add-ons and perks that come with him. Which can raise a character I don't believe shouldn't be the deciding factor if a killer's power is worthy of Hunting hatchets, Blood fury, or Blighted Corruption.
-
Pretty much spot on.
-
@DwightFairfield said:
Too easy to snowball without any sort of warning or setup
Oni can snowball easily but he's loud and noticeable, and his demon dash can't do everything
Myers can snowball easily but his terror radius and presences allows you to prepare (At least in theory, if they don't pop tier 3 behind you)
Twins, if everyone is injured, can slug for the 4k and the survivors can't do much about it.
"Just bring unbreakable"
Yeah, next to the DS I need to bring for tunneling, the spine chill I need for stealth killers, the iron will I need for Spirit, the Dead Hard I need to prolong chases, the Small Game and Kindred I need if I want to play solo que, the Adrenaline I need if I want to clutch a chase during the endgame, and the balanced landing and lithe I need so the killer doesn't catch me in unsafe areas.
Well isn't that the setup needing to get survivors injured to play effectively with Victor unless he's taken away by survivor child services.

I really don't see any killer besides nemesis getting in... It's the most iconic guy in the franchise.
21.There was a post that players who are normally toxic should relax that behavior since it is bound many Resident Evil fans will check out the game with no knowledge on how to play. Should current players change their behaviour for the influx of many new players?

I agree Oni is way more lethal. Of course he is with his one shot. You were generous enough to watch my crotus match. I look at it like this.
Wraith - Starts his snowball fast. Gradually rolls down hill as you keep pressure on
Oni - Gives wraiths snow ball a lead and starts very slow. Then catchs up in a hurry. And they about meet at the same spot in A-Tier
But of course that's all subjective and ones own opinion
How does Wraith effectively snowball with no Insta down and a slower attack with cloaking and uncloaking?

You can play around spirit without hoping she messes up. It's not easy nor do I think it means she shouldn't get adjustments either.
Regardless of addons, she still has a max distance she can move so long wall windows, shack window, safe pallets, etc are all effective at building distance between you and a phasing spirit, because she can't move through walls.
Maps do have ambient sound that can help cover your own sounds plus crouching also reduces your sound as well. Scratch marks do have a small delay before they appear so if you can confuse a spirit with other sounds you have a chance to run off before she realizes.
I just find the "spirit has no counterplay" mindset to be absolutely wrong. Yes she's hard to play against and deserves changes, but it's not like you have absolutely no options. The only killer who legitmately gave survivors no real options to play against them was Old Legion, because it didn't matter if he chased with FF until you went down or broke chase to abuse DW mechanics. Neither option lead to a survivor outplaying the Legion.
So how do I play against a spirit without her messing up? Right as her power gauge is full.
-
Spirit because oh no you had no clue what she was doing your fault get good
Freddy because his gameplay is boring

The only problematic addon combo in my experience is Mother Daughter Ring plus Amulet as the massive speed and duration increase from the addons together gives her a ton of distance to cover that's hard to account for.
I just don't believe the best counter play to a killer is hope she messes up. When the other best killers have counterplay that is far more dynamic and enjoyable
