They said they will never gonna add Clown type killer but they did.
They said gen times are alright for very long time but then they admitted it was not fine.
They said OoO is fine perk, user is dying most of times but then they changed their mind about it.
Op's post is not against rules. So stop BOSS'ing him, he can write whatever he want if it is about the game. You are not boss here, stop acting like you are.
Pointing out a settled issue is not "bossing".

I want my reuse back. That was half the point. It served double duty to tell my allies what gen I was on and where I was.

Wesker, Wesker, Wesker, Wesker, and Wesker. Sometimes a Wesker.

Is this a troll post? You didn't even say what map you are talking about. Do you know how many maps have been reworked? This could be anything from Haddonfield to a Corn Map.

The developers have flat out said "We are not making Kindred basekit".
Like they have addressed this request. Specifically. Many times.
Stop asking for it. We already got a clear and firm NO on this.

There is literally NO valid reason the killer needs to see the players gamer tags/usernames BEFORE the post game screen.
DON'T GIVE ME THIS ANONYMOUS mode crap either because its not available on consoles.
Give an option to hide who you are until post game. Then console can use it just fine. STOP LETTING PEOPLE TARGET OTHERS!
Why did the incidents happen with the bubba masks? BECAUSE THE DEVS ALLOWED THE TARGETING by giving us no way to protect ourselves as small streamers. Why do killers continue to harass some players and bully them? BECAUSE THEY GET TO SEE WHO IT IS BEFORE THE MATCH STARTS.
Just do the right thing.
Bubba masks had to do with racial profiling, not streamers.

No, the problem was being able to instadown while basically riding the survivor. That problem is still very much there. Changing it to only instadowning if hit from 24 or more meters away is what should have happened, that way belt addons could still be used.
The nerf didn't fix the issue at all. Nobody ever complained about amount carried. It was always distance at which the instadown should start.
That puts add-ons behind a skillgate. Add ons are not intended to reward already skilled play. They are meant to enhance an existing kit. A bad Huntress would get no value out of that at all. Add ons are for everyone, not just those in the top 10% of the skill bracket.

It would be an indicator to stop making really awful challenges that promote throwing games.
BHVR isn't throwing out archives because people are dumb. I'm really really sure they already have that oh so important data and it isn't gonna change anything. If anything the challenges have gotten even DUMBER. We had one in the current rift to hatch out, another to get 75 seconds of chase time, etc.
This ain't going away, with or without some "weekly experiment data".

A good point has been brought up in a recent thread of mine - I'm curious to see the impact of all the "hide inside the killer's butthole with self-care and no mither for 120 second" challenges on the kill/escape rates.
So what if it does? What would that change?

Something really needs to be done with solo queue, i rarely play survivor without my swf buddies but I'm not fussed about playing killer today. I'm certainly not the best player, but I'm by no means a bad one. Ive been playing all morning must've cleared about 10 games and i haven't survived a single one. I'm seeing constant bbq and chilli killers. My "teammates" are doing very little to help me. I just died on my first hook because out of 3 survivors, absolutely none of them deigned to bother coming to get me off even though the killer was nowhere around.
I've got reasonable points in some of my games but not one survival, I'm constantly being abandoned, there's no coherent teamwork. Hell i even had someone do pinheads puzzle box right next to me while im trying to cleanse a hex, when I'm on 2 hooks and they are on none. Pinhead ports in zones on me.
Idk why we can't get vc for survivors, swf teams certainly don't need any buffs but solo queues are 4 people running blind getting picked off by the killer. Not much fun for the survivor players, i don't expect to survive all my games but dying constantly in this many games is a pretty awful game experience.
Pls devs throw solo queue players a bone.
You are out of your mind if you think I would allow a voice chat active while I am playing this game.

Does your sarcasm make you feel good? I politely and respectfully ackowledged that you have a right to a different opinion, and that I don't feel that "I'm clearly right and I must debate you." I did nothing to you. And I don't deserve your attitude.
I don't need a post to tell me I can have an opinion. It's a forum. It's implied.
As for the "idea", there is nothing worse about Dead By Daylight than reductively turning the game into nothing but looping. It is not a game objective, and the way it is presently designed far too many survivors want to get into chases "because that is the only fun part of the game", and refuse to do gens. So more survivors die, and then blame killers for being oppressive.
The game was at its best during the high Fog years, where tension was built. Instead we now just run around the same pickup truck as many times as we can milk it for before dropping a pallet and then going to the next tile.
And we call this "a battle of wits".
Okay, pal.

If you put 61% on one side of a balance, and 39% on the other what happens? I don't think that's what something that is "balanced" is supposed to look like.
Balance doesn't mean 50/50.

When I first started playing DBD a few years ago, it was genuinely scary. When I heard the terror radius, I "Claudette Powers Activated!" my butt into a bush and hid (oh, the days of super dark maps . . .). But as the story goes, that fear lessened over time. And that's a good thing. Because doing that every game would make the game go stale, and luckily, because this game is asymmetrical, something better happened. DBD turned into a battle of wits.
Today, occasionally meeting a Killer who really makes my heart race and send me back to those earlier days, has given me some truly exciting and nail biting games. But if every game was like that, DBD would've died because that thrill cannot last (human brains are wired to adapt). You can't be scared/highly stressed every game. Something more sustainable has to be experienced instead.
Do you remember being a kid and playing hide and go seek? You tried figuring out where the best hiding spot would be (no matter if you were the hider or the seeker), and if you thought you were gonna get caught (or catch someone), that's when the burst of adrenaline kicked in. There'd be squealing, screaming, and an attempt to run as fast as you could. That's kinda what DBD is now. It's sometimes focused, like a game of chess; it's sometimes exciting, like hide and go seek. But no where in those situations am I perpetually afraid.
You Killers are faster. You have weapons. You have abilities. You have only yourself to rely upon. You are the power role, but that doesn't mean my role is to be submissive, weak or afraid. My role is to challenge you, to see if your weapons and speed are enough to beat my mind. It is a battle of wits. It's a battle of who can think faster in the moment. You are Goliath, and I am hopefully David. Goliath beat most, but David still won.
That is DBD, at its best, for me.
What is DBD, at its best, for you?
This is literally the worst version of Dead By Daylight to me.

Well I see many killers chasun one survivor for 5 gens and they get what 1-2 hooks and usually if team bodyblocks then he is able to get out as well so tunnel the wrong guy and that it was happens. Sounds you play in low mmr good survivors do all gens while you camp.
In either case, you can play how you want. Wether you camp after a 12 second chase or a 5 gen run.

@Voodoomancer said:
I'm someone who is aggressively average at the game so I don't really sway to either side of the dbd pendulum here. From my years of casual play and discourse with others about the game i find more people will play killer rather than survivor. The reasons given are usually the same throughout: "I like to feel as if I won when I play", "My teammates generally let me down or I do them when i play survivor", and "killers are just more unique to play".
That last one really sticks with me. Every survivor is no different from one another. Of course you can factor in how quiet and hit noise (looking at you bill) in saying they are different but none really play differently to each other the way that killers do. I will agree with BHVR that the incentive is good to have to get more people into the needed roll, but it's almost always for survivors. How would we go about fixing this? What could possibly work to make them more unique to each other while keeping balance in the game?
My idea(which may not even be good): have each one have a perk from their set be base kit on them specifically.
While this may be an absolute dumb idea I believe it would essentially create a playstyle from that particular character while still giving them the ability to build either with it or whatever they want. Some people may ignore such a thing, while others strive to min/max their character in a build.
What do you guys think?
Not your MAIN point, but I want to address the "Why play killer" part.
I play Killer because I know if I lose, it was ACTUALLY my fault. And not some game throwing Nea.

Not hard to find, lol. Weak and lazy? No. It's short and to the point. I want to dodge people that are most likely new to the game. Why should I play with new players that aren't gonna touch a gen and leave me to die on first hook? Same on the killer side. Why should I go against new players as killer and make their game miserable? This is a good thing.
Edit- Again, not all non-prestige characters are new players but a lot of them are. I'm not dealing with that.
It's not about hard to find. It's about making someone else go through the effort of finding YOUR post. You literally gave enough of a crap to reply, but not enough to state an argument? That's like watching a TV show because you can't be bothered to get up and walk the 5 feet to get the remote.

Thats a weirdly dismissive take, considering the causes of motion sickness vary from person to person, as well as how they respond to various degrees of spatial perception. A friend of mine literally cannot play old shooters because 2D sprites in a 3D environment in fast motion induces vertigo. Its great that its not one of the things that causes issue for you, but I mean even games like Halo directly acknowledge it in their own support guidelines:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/ZTMC2KW080AQ/motion.png
It can also have to do with your setup, it sounds like you might just have a good combination of distance and view size to match the game's FoV for you. Thats basically just testament to why a slider is better than not having an option at all.
Edit: Here's actually a very good explanation on how the entire phenomena works, and how it is approached from a game design perspective:
And a TINY change in FOV is gonna make all that difference?
-
I have actual diagnosed Motion Sickness disorder and I have a bottle of prescription Meclizine in front of me and I don't understand how the base FOV causes motion sickness. It doesn't for me.
And even if it does, how does a TINY sliver of increased FOV suddenly change that diagnosis? I'm not buying "accessibility" as an argument. This isn't like the colorblind issue or the Spine Chill issue at all.

Dead Hard being nerfed was a balance change, Hug Tech being removed is a "bug fix" in Mandy's own words. We don't see substantial perk changes nearly as often or frequent as bug fixes.
Are you saying Blight should be nerfed to 110 because you assume it will take them really long to actually remove hug tech?
That is EXACTLY what I am saying.
And if that ever DOES happen we can have a discussion about restoring his 115% speed.

You still can't just hug tech at every loop in the game.
And besides, it's not gonna be around forever so why nerf him to 110 because of a tech they plan to fix anyways?
Riiiiiight. Like how they eventually nerfed Dead Hard? Nerfs do not count until they go live.
-
@tenoresax said:
Because you can't use his power at every loop. Sure you could argue that you can use it at most loops but it takes alot of experience with Blight to reliably get a lethal rush hit at any loop, more experience than the average Blight player would have.
Spirit and Nurse can use their power in virtually any normal situation.
Uhhh.... hug tech?

Its not just 10% buff for killer cool down. Its also 10% nerf for survivor speed boost.
The total for both sides applied is 16%
I dont think if Sprint burst speed buffed from 150% to 166% sounds a little to you.
That does sound like very little, actually. If I approach someone and they take off with Sprint Burst, I break off and go after someone else and let their little perk wear off and start the cooldown. Adding 16% to that won't change anything.

I ran this build a few times for kicks and they never got more than 2 gens done. Permanently undetectable ranged instadown killer with wallhacks? Good luck. And I have a billion lery's offerings on her and they are actually useful now
I am not giving any weight to the argument that this perk is broken or busted because it can be MORE useful with an Iridescent Add-On.

There would need to be a hot survivor in this game first before I have that problem.

10% is not a little.
But the current (and always) game problem is that if killer able to down a survivor early then camp/tunnel, the result will be at least 2-3k no effort.
Which cause survivors feel they always have to gen rush.
2.0 -> 1.8 is absolutely little.

Right, but if I increase your pay by 10%, your hours by 10%, your bonuses by 10%, and reduce your bill payments by 10% and taxes by 10%, you have a crapton more money in your pocket each year, don't you? It all adds up. Those dials should have been tweaked maybe one or two at a time, not all at once.
What really happens was all of these things at once on top of the perks. Basically, survival now requires a killer to be absolute trash as he can sleep his way to a 4k in most games.
The problem with that comparison is that all of those things contribute to money and the killer buffs are not necessarily cumulative. If you don't kick gens, that buff didn't matter. If you use one shot mechanics the speed boost doesn't matter.

-
Of course I tunnel. And there's no shame in tunnelling.
When you get on a gen, do you stop at 50% to go to another gen? No? You finish it?
Me, too. Glad we understand each other.
-
Killers were not overbuffed. The changes were tiny. 10% to kicks, 10% knock to speed, and 10 seconds of gens. Those are not world shaking.
What really happened was the mega crutching on things like Dead Hard and Iron Will and EGC uses of Decisive Strike happened, and now the Survivor community is buying Copium in bulk.
