Wut? Killers have a perk that explodes a gen for 10% and puts survivors in timeout for 25 seconds. That's just one killer perk. You can't possibly think one side has a monopoly on second chances. I refuse to believe someone genuinely thinks that.

That's because you keep touching my gens and I remind you: DBD is not consent! This is why you get smacked around.

  • I will reiterate my suggestion for a killer version of Dead Hard:

    Juggernaut

While this perk is active, if the killer is hit by a pallet then that pallet will break instantly and no stun is applied. After breaking the pallet, this skill deactivates for 120/100/80.

  • This is why perks on the survivor side should be exclusive. And the same goes for add-ons, btw.

  • No. Stop asking for nerfs. Get good.

    • Game rules are in survivor's favor, example: Pulling down a pallet is faster than stabbing...
    • Maps are all in survivor's favor, the degree to which varies but they are all in survivor favor
    • Survivors get map choice as they can stack the choice
    • Survivor's have by far the strongest perks, it's not even close
    • Survivors can stack add-ons
    • Survivors can stack perks
    • Killers apparantly need a small vacay after swinging at a survivor
    • Flashlight is better than any killer ability
    • BHVR caters survivor's every whim
    • Killers haven't gotten a good perk in god knows how long

Just 10 things of the top of my head...

  • @Alcuin said:

The game is not Survivor-sided. Survivors have a few maps and Discord. That's all . Go play Solo to learn.

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha no.

A problem that only makes it worse because look at all the perks that are used and how scattered across the game they are. What, you want to play someone else? Nah, go level these specific people.

Agreed. I would say it would be a good thing to have every perk unlocked straight from the start. Not a fan of unlocking "skill".

Another thing in that same line is that I would suggest is that inventories for non-character specific items are shared between all characters and items that can be used by both killers and survivors are shared between all of them. I think it is stupid that when I have for example an BP add-on on 1 character that I cannot use it on another.

  • @HugTheHag said:

If the killer seems potentially friendly I'll for sure give them my item if I have one ! =)

I've never considered how to ask for it as killer, what you're doing as Doctor is already pretty smart haha ! Doc going "Gimme ! Gimme gimme gimme !" !

I'm also often a friendly killer in the end, so I do get presents but mostly after I let them go, not as a bargain. I have no idea how you can ask for items... I'll have to think on it ! =D

Let me know what you come up with, @HugTheHag! I need more stuff!

To be honest it gets less casual friendly each time they add in 6 new perks and a new killer power regardless because a new/casual player will have a harder time absorbing this information compared to someone who plays frequently.

When I started there were 7? killers with unique powers and maybe 100 perks per side.

Well, between how many perks there are and how many of them are actually used... There's a bit of a gap there...

  • DBD would be casual friendly if all the perks were unlocked straight from the start. This is however not the case and it takes forever to get them. Sure, looping takes some skill but that is about it. I don't think a completely new player would do badly in that situation after a couple of games.

you forgot to wrote gg ez in the endchat... if people bring those kind of stuff when aganist me, i'll make sure to give them what they asked: an unfun match

Oh damn it, I forgot to do that again!

Rekt and now my age is a problem lol

Again, just running my give me BP and stuff build. Such a sad state of affairs.

  • @hastarkis said:

    Nothing.

    Really, nothing.

Some survivors don't even know about this stuff. Some of them think it's stupid to give items bc killers can't take it. Some of them think smth else. All of them won't understand you no matter what. Some of survivors even use this as a gesture only, so after putting item down they take it back. In THIS case sometimes it's possible to make it clear you want their item on ground but that's it.

You just can't be the offering side here. Either you let this survivor go and then they probably will give their item as a gratitude, or they must be first one who offers an exchange. I'm trying to give killers my items because I think it's a nice tradition and I don't mind loose them, especially as a thanks for mercy. But if I don't do that myself I doubt I can get this ides from killer... It's more clear when killer wan't me NOT TO leave my item on the ground x)

But you can text them (if possible). I think, that's the only way to make it clearly clear.

Fair enough. Thanks for that answer!

I wouldn't think it matter it not like killers get to really keep it. lol

It doesn't matter in that sense. I just want prezzies. After all, they touched my gens and DBD is not consent.

  • I am going with option #6.

For Eruption to even work so many things have to come together:

    • IF I kick a gen
    • IF someone returns to that gen
    • IF someone is working on WHILE I hook someone else

Mist doesnt alter your ability to stalk in any way, so I'd say thats just a placebo effect for you

it affects your own ability to see, thereby hindering your ability to stalk...

there are both sets of offerings in the blood web. murky reagent, hazy reagent, clear reagent, and faint reagent are in both survivor and killer webs.

Yes, I know. My suggestion is: Don't.

  • @YOURFRIEND said:

You can't stalk properly in mist. Ghosty doesn't like it one bit.

  • @Entitled_survivor said:

I let my first sabo squad 4man bleed out on the floor while bing bongin with wraith over them,,words cannot describe how mad they were,, all i sais was "since you seem to dislike hooks that much i assumed you prefer being on the ground" 😂😂

    funny stuff! 🤣🤣

  • I'd never use any of these.

    • Opening the gates is FAR too great a risk.
    • I've never reached bloodlust 3 ever in any of my games, so dont think this is worth using.
    • No real point to it, all you ever see that one healing boon and that one isn't too bad.

    How about this:

    Perk 1: Juggernaut

While this perk is active, when you are hit by a pallet, that pallet instantly breaks and you are not stunned. After a pallet has been broken by Juggernaut, this perk deactivates for 120/100/80 seconds.

    Perk 2: Hex: Trip Wire

You can light a totem with Hex: Trip Wire. Any survivor's within 16/20/24 meter range have their aura revealed until they have left the range of the totem. Only 1 Hex: Trip Wire can be active at a time.

    Perk 3: Energy Leech

If a survivor is hit by a basic attack after having been hooked twice, they get an Energy Leech. The Energy Leech causes survivors to be exhausted until it is removed. The Energy Leech can be removed once the survivor is at full health. The Energy Leech is automatically removed once the survivor enters the dying state.

  • @Dipper said:

I know that technically it should be included, but perks like Fogwise get completely useless when the killer has Fearmonger. You can't use that perk at all if the killer uses Fearmonger. other perks like Kindred are not rendered completely useless. I know the perk is a bit hardcore, seeing the killer after a great skillcheck, but nevertheless there should be a chance to use it nonetheless

That is the only reaaon a killer would choose to employ Blindness...

  • When you get down to the last survivor.

... The hell are you talking about? I just said as a mechanic I liked the idea if they implemented it in a balanced way, but best of all: I'm a killer main, dude 🤣

If that were true then you should know better.

  • Start the countdown then. The current setup is just punishing killers for playing well.

  • @Coordi said:

This behavior is already against the Game Rules under Unsportsmanlike Conduct. Please make sure you report this behavior so that we can take appropriate action.

    UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT

    • Botting
    • Lag switching
    • Disconnects (leaving the match before killed or sacrificed) - DO NOT REPORT
    • For both Botting and Lag switching, in-game reports are REQUIRED / Customer Support ticket OPTIONAL

Why should "Disconnects (leaving the match before killed or sacrificed) - DO NOT REPORT" not be reported? Have you got any idea how often this occurs? Just straight up denying me my earned points?

Yeah not survivor sided at all...

    • Perks in survivor's favor (top 10 strongest perks do not feature killer perks)
    • Maps in survivor's favor (do I even need to explain this? the stupid amount of mist, the insane amount of loops, vaults, pallets, etc etc etc)
    • Game mechanics in survivor's favor (multiple free escapes, body blocking still not fixed, flashbangs/flashlight outpowering any killer ability)
    • Hits are in survivor's favor (as stabbing someone is far slower than pulling down a pallet for reasons that I assume to boil down to survivor's whined about killers killing)
    • Code of Conduct in survivor's favor (this nonsense I just quoted)

So coddled. When will killer's get some actual love? One would almost think you don't want killers to actually play... Ridiculous... Survivor's are toxic af and BHVR is enabling them every step of the way.

  • It shouldnt get nerfed, theres so many if's involved... If you get nailed by Eruption, you deserve it for screwing up that badly.

  • Hatch should completely be removed and doors shouldn't power. Just game on.

  • @SkeletalElite said:

Release mettle of man was a stupid perk that worked incredibly well with other meta perks at the time (bt, ds) and gave an incredible amount of value (extra health state) with basically 0 work outside of playing normally (getting hit.) It had no reasonable counterplay other than to not chase the survivor with it or play specific killers that get around it. It was put on a licensed character, so people couldn't get it with shards.

Eruption is a stupid perk that works incredibly well with other meta perks (cob, oc) and gives an incredible amount of value (40 seconds wasted per gen affected) with basically 0 work outside of playing normally (defending gens). It has no reasonable counterplay other not repairing generators or only playing in a 4 man SWF with comms. It was put on a licensed character, so people couldn't get it with shards.

yeah I agree, killers have 1 perk that doesnt completely suck, we cant be having that... killers shouldnt get any kills... whats next? killers can only move backwards?

  • Last thing survivors need is more OP perks. Killers should get a couple of good ones. The last 9 are all trash.

  • @Batusalen said:

    https://i.imgflip.com/77qs7u.jpg

Sorry, I had to do it 🤣

It's not a bad idea for a new mechanic tho, even if it is obviously and indirect killer nerf. Maybe instead of affect regression it could simply make the generator "harder" and add to the time a killer need to kick it or something like that (if they also implement a meaningful reason to kick a gen as basekit for balance).

The last thing killers need is yet another nerf, there is no reason for it. Killers are weak af already. Some actual buffs are highly needed. You not winning is a skill issue, not a balance issue. The balance is already heavily in your favor in every conceivable way.

  • OMG how do you even complain about this? You already have every edge in existence. The only thing that needs to get nerfed are your broken survivor perks.

  • Not sure what you are refering to, WesCravenFan, if I see Backwater Swamp I leave. Every time I've played on it, it has been a bad and frustrating experience and I just don't ever want to play the map again. And there are more examples of bad maps. Like for example Meat Plant, that pile of trash has FAR too many pallets on it. It is also a garbage map. Quality Control Team needs to get fired. Don't know how this nonsense just slips by them. Seems like they just go: Is it a pretty map? *looks for 3 seconds* yup, pretty map *stamp of approval*... Get the ######### out of here with that nonsense. Do some actual playtesting before releasing #########.

  • Great but I will still NEVER play on Backwater Swamp. It is just not worth my time. I think the solution to the problem that I offer is reasonable. What is your take on my solution? If you have a better suggestion then I would love to hear that too.

Playing the map is not an option. It is a bad map in every conceivable way and I will not play ball on it.

  • yes, and the only reason you got that overpowered is because survivors cant handle not surviving, it took the game dying for that to change

  • "This game's update direction feels soley Survivor-focused" thats because it is, survivors are a whiny bunch and the devs kowtow to pretty much everything they say

  • You realize that not everytime someone doesnt move it means they are macro-ing... I had to pick up a work call the other day, cant play during that. Or sometimes, since the queue times are so stupidly long for killer, I tab out and just watch a stream and forget to check back if I am having a good time. And that is just 2 examples of why a killer might just be standing there.

  • You should offer a way in which that should be implemented. But pre-emptively: No. Stop being butthurt over strategies and tactics.

Because solo que doesn't guarantee you'll have like minded team mates who know the game as well as you do. Relying on your team for everything is always a risk. Also you're clearly not reading my posts because nowhere have I said nor implied that my suggestion would make the last survivor "get to escape" so I'll ask you to read my OP and replies again and then get back to me if you continue to want to talk about this.

I did read it. I just disagree with you.

  • "doesn't deserve a fair chance at escape"

The point is that you and the rest of your team already had your chance and you either blew it or got outplayed. Why should you then get to escape?

Killer doesnt get additional chances at hooks, moris... When survivors gen rush the game doesnt go "well, that was a bit quick, do 2 more gens". Dont see why you should have additional chances.

    • makes sabotaging harder <<< no it doesnt, doesnt hinder it at all
    • punishes teamplay <<< no it doesnt, it punishes exploiting body blocking
    • does not fix any issues <<< yes it does, fixes survivors body blocking which is definitely an issue
    • might create new issues <<< not an argument in any way, shape or form...
    • will not change game balance and is just a change to make a change <<< not an argument in any way, shape or form...
    • will ruin getting protection hits <<< good, shouldnt be a thing in the first place "oh yeah let me just walk into the path of that katana/sledgehammer/bat/etc for you". Just stupid.
    • mad grit will become useless <<< dont see how
    • same with agitation and iron grasp <<< good, maybe killers can have some skills that arent there merely because of obnoxious game mechanic exploitation by survivors

You are just saying random nonsense.

  • "Ever since the last hatch change I have felt like the hatch has heavily favored the killer. I have had many matches since then where it comes down to just me left and the killer finds the hatch before me most of the time. Once that hatch is shut its pretty much game over. You have a limited amount of time to somehow fully open an exit gate that killers can easily go back and forth from on most maps before you get any considerable progress on them. I've thought about bringing a key every match but that seems unreasonable given I only have so many and these situations don't happen every match. I'd run out of keys fast doing it this way."

This is total nonsense. The hatch by its very definition is not something killer wants. Ever. Under any circumstance. Look at it for a second from the killers perspective: The killer does well, has the survivors down to the last guy. Great! Oh wait, free escape option Hatch spawns in for no reason at all, now the last survivor can get away by the hatch that the survivor can see and the killer cant. Even if the killer manages to close it before the survivor gets out, then the doors unlock regardless of how many gens have completed giving the survivor not 1 but 2 more chances to get out. Not only that, if the survivor has a key then they can also re-open the hatch giving them yet another chance to escape. How you do not escape is a mystery to me. Like how many chances do you need? How in the world is that favourable for to killer? The answer to that little riddle is: It isn't. It is just something that takes points away from the killer who earned it.

If it were up to me there wouldnt be a hatch, the exit gates wouldnt open, it would simply be game on. It is absolutely ridiculous how many extra chances you are handed for bad performance as a survivor. This is why I slug, no point in hooking the 3rd survivor for the 3rd time if all that results in is a ton of freebies for the survivors. If I play great and you dont then I deserve my 4k and I WILL have it.

  • To such an eloquent response I can only reply with: Yes.
