so all the raiders can come write racist slurs about your base?

lol is that would you would write on someone's outpost?

But even if it would happen at all:

    1. It would be exceedingly rare...
    2. Grow up, its just text from some keyboard warrior. Who cares...
    3. Report the person for being a dick...

    There is no issue.

  • Rather than tagging, I would like to be able to leave a comment on an outpost. One that can be seen before playing.

  • Completely unrestricted letters, words, sentences are the way to go. The game is rated 16+ and there is as such no reason to not allow for it despite what less savory figures might write. Grow up and deal with it.

  • New synthite drop rate is great, dont change a thing

  • Or simply stop rewarding them by abandoning the raid and blocking the player. I believe in making a fair base and all my bases are made with the thought that I should be to beat it myself, grabbing all the ancient tomes and exiting in a single try. No use of the Phoenix Pod either. I call that fair play. If someone doesn't believe in fair play who makes bases like those mentioned above: Abandon raid, block player. Blocking causes them to not be able to raid my bases either which is great because no fair raids for unfair players.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. There is a fundamental problem with the game. There just aren't enough raiders for the active outposts. They've been trying to solve the problem but the results have only gotten worse. The current situation is not working for anyone. Getting a whopping hour worth of raiding for each prestige level just isn't fun.

I have thought of a couple of solutions but I think the simplest is just to reduce the quantity of outposts at any given time. If players could only have 2 or maybe 3 active outposts then there would be more raiders to divide amongst the active outposts resulting in more raids per outpost. Personally, that is a sacrifice I'd be willing to make. Where do you all stand?

Agreed. I read your post earlier today but I wanted to give it some thought. I spend a lot of synthite to ensure that I get max duration outpost but after the first couple of hours they just aren't raided. Frankly, I don't see any other way. A reduction from 5 to 2 active outposts is probably the way to go.

Hah, you really haven't read any of my posts. No, they're not being a dirtbag; they're playing the game normally and increasing their odds of escaping. If it bothers you that much either equip Lightborn or learn to counter it like all the other Killers do.

I have read it, analyzed it, found it to be bad and told you as such.

Dead hard is used a LOT. But it doesn't carry a game as hard as eruption can.

Survs have a lot of dead perks. And dead hard is probably one of the bestbsingle perks in the game. But it isn't broken, it's hard to trigger and can easily be baited out.

Not only bullshit but also irrelevant. It is a free third health state every 40 seconds and it doesn't matter if it can be misplayed, it is stupidly OP unlike Eruption. 25 second disable is a walk from one generator to another and Eruption can easily be avoided as you just simply get off the generator... Every time you get hit by Eruption is you making a mistake. Dead Hard is carries survivors extremely hard and prolongs chases by ridiculous amounts in a gen rushing meta. This perk needs to die.

Getting blinded after can make it harder to see scratch marks. That's the survivor covering their escape.

And that means you aren't being a dirtbag at that point? If that is the case then forever remain silent about tunneling, camping and slugging.

  • @Mr_K said:

Are flashlights toxic or do toxic survivors use flashlights?

    Both.

  • I quite like the way she looks, could've gone a bit further as she does look like a discount Warhammer 40K Adepta Sororitas ( See here: https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Adepta_Sororitas ) but I hate everything else about her. The mori sucks, the perks suck, the special ability looks lame so I will not be getting her...

  • @jesterkind said:

I'm hardly a heavy flashlight user myself, I don't think I've ever brought one in my occasional survivor games except for challenges, but I can provide: They're really easy to dodge.

At least if they're trying to get a flashlight save, those are easy to dodge. You obviously can't dodge pallet blinds, but eh, that's still more to your benefit than it is your detriment so I don't get mad at it.

It is infuriating to be stunned and then flashlighted... Flashlighting at that point is just you being an #########. Nothing more, nothing less.

  • I uninstalled too. Pretty much for the same reasons. BHVR keeps nerfing killers in a gen rush meta while they have all the bs perks in the world that allow them to mess with killers all day long so you as a killer have no choice to use less reputable strategies like tunneling, camping etc if you even want to have a chance at winning (I define winning as a 3K or better). The maps are all set up to have loop after loop after loop which is just irritating as hell. Remove half of them and it will still be horrible. Then the match ends and every survivor throws a hissyfit because of it. There is just no fun to be had in this game anymore.

But oh wait, light at the horizon, a new killer with new perks!

/me takes passing glance at new killer

    • lame mori
    • lame power
    • perks that no-one will ever use except for getting adept (the least weak one is the healing slowdown but even that comes with a cooldown and I have to ask: ######### is wrong with you, BHVR)

Looks at the survivor perks... Oh great, more gen rushing... Right, never mind...

If BHVR actually wants to save DBD:

    • 60% kill rate is aimed for... its called DEAD by daylight... Make that 80%.
    • Give killers perks that are actually fun to work with and actually have some power to them so killers arent forced to tunnel.
    • Make Agitation basekit. It is ridiculous that killers have to waste a perk slot on it just to prevent sabo and/or flashlight. In fact, remove those two completely.
    • Remove half the loops from the map, there are WAY too many of them.
    • Remove all second chance perks
    • Rework all the survivor tools, the gen rush is far too strong, the near instant blinding by flashlight serves no other purpose than to piss people off.

Then killers will not feel as forced to tunnel, camp and whatnot and we can actually have some fun again but don't think for a second that if I am loading up a game that I am going to play to lose because that is what I would be doing if I didn't employ those tactics right now and survivors get pissed off by it, which I understand as it is not fun for them but in the "fun" hierarchy me winning ranks higher than some random on the internet not getting to play the game.

Do with this information as you will, BHVR, just understand that your game is dying and this is feedback on why it is dying. I have no interest in seeing it's death so I am leaving this game now.

  • I disagree that The Doctor is fine. His Shock Therapy without add-ons that boost its range is simply too short to be useful in the vast majority of cases. 2m lengthening of Shock Therapy would open up this currently rather limited ability. Also the default delay on shock therapy is unreasonably long. 0.2 less delay would be a reasonable improvement.

  • @stvnhthr said:

Deadhard is a hail mary, if you are losing because of dh you are a weak killer. DH works as intended maybe 30% of the time? Maybe less. That means well over half the time when you play against someone using DH you get a free down and hook. In my most recent game I went down 3 times in the same game using DH. First time I used it and timed it correctly, it never activated. Next time I used it one second early, it never activated. Next time I thought, "Ahah, I will use it a second and a half early," it activated immediately. One game, three different random timings for dh, it is impossible to use in a consistent manner within a single game, let alone from one match to the next.

Everyone who complains about DH is actually saying they are getting by on bad hits and lag.

Ok, so because you suck with DH everyone else does too huh... DH is the biggest issue this game has and has been so for years. It is time.

  • Actually agreed. I feel a lot of the assholery from survivors comes from the fact that being injured has no downsides at all (besides being 1 step closer to being downed) which is just totally abused. And on the killer side more and more killers seem to feel that tunneling someone out is their best option as there aren't any perks left on the killer side that slows down the gen rush in any meaningful way. Might not be the biggest problem when playing nurse, wraith or blight but it is for every other killer.

For some reason the majority of survivors I see who are prestige 100 are Ada Wong. I think that might be because people were playing her so much when they introduced the prestige system. What about you?

Are the BP incentives supposed to match queue times? Ever since the survivor HUD happened, I've had 10 second killer queues, non stop all the time..... but the BP incentives are still sometimes showing up as survivor.

Do the BP incentives just not care at all about MMR? Are they just showing what my region overall needs? Right now, the game shows 100% survivor incentives, I have 10 second killer queues, and about 1-2 minute survivor queues. And I'm not sure if the incentives are broken, or if I'm just not representative of the average player base, so my personal incentives don't match my queue times at all?

Is this happening to anyone else?

Nope, they do not match queue times, they match currently online killer/survivor ratio.

  • @Phasmamain said:

I don’t mind it too much but prestige levels should probably be hidden at least for killers. All it does is encourage dodging because “obviously if they are P100 they have to be gods at the game”

Yes, because when a P100 switches to a new character then I can still tell... Oh wait, I can't... Your prestige level doesn't matter and is never a reason I'd decline a lobby.

  • Reasons I decline playing against certain survivor groups:

    1. 3-man or 4-man SWF. In this game that is, much like the new HUD, akin to cheating. This is regardless of what BHVR says.
    2. 3 or more toolboxes/medkits. Get lost, not dealing with this nonsense.
    3. 2 or more flashlights. Get lost, not replacing a perk I want to play with for lightborn due to your bs.
    4. Everyone is playing the same character with, more or less, the same outfit. Troll squad can get #########.
    5. Having certain style of character names. Script kiddies tend to have a particular style of naming themselves and I am not dealing with that.
  • All killers need help, no perks around anymore that actually do anything...

  • Why would a killer not tunnel and camp? If we actually play the perks killers use get nerfed into oblivion... Camping and tunneling gets around that nonsense nicely. There is no point in adhering to the Survivor Guide to Killer. Besides that, not the killer's job to let you have a good time.

I really don't know the point you are trying to make, to be perfectly honest with you.

the point is that solo queue doesnt vs swf, there is no point in bringing them closer together as they do not face off against eachother, its survivor vs killer

  • @fulltonon said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3346942#Comment_3346942

I'm stating opposite, by having large gap between SWF and solos it will skew data and makes it miserable to match with SWF.

swf should be brought down to solo queue, not the other way around

  • Exactly. So we agree. HUD is bs and needs to be removed asap.

  • @KingFieldShipper said:

The point of the hud was to bring solo closer to swf - if you remove that it just becomes another solo q issue again while not affecting any swf. Tbh knockout itself is one of the few anti-soloq perks in the first place and I think we need less of those/rework them all in the first place to do something completely different, but that's just me.

Why does it need to be closer... its not solo vs swf, its survivor vs killer...

"Certainly you aren't refering to last July when small numerical adjustments had no improving impact in any significant way."

Why are you discrediting these compounding buffs? Those are subtle, but hugely impactful. What are you expecting for killer buffs? Survivors get a hookstate removed? A sixth gen added?

They can't blindly mega-buff killers, they have to keep balance in mind.

I am completely and totally disregarding these as their net effect was zero. Just because the numbers changed, that doesnt mean gameplay was affected in any meaningful way. So yeah, that is not a buff.

Not saying it needs to be a mega-buff, I am saying that I need to be able to notice and I don't notice it. Therefor not a buff despite number fiddling.

It was a kneejerk however it for sure needed nerfs. In effect a survivor was removed from hte game for 25 seconds, watching their gen tick away. Without comms theres just no warning or counterplay, meaning in soloq you tank every eruption and cry about it while swfs just lose 10 percent.

Yeah, you do realize that that was the entire point of it, right? Get a bit of a breather for 25 seconds... I mean literally the entire point of the whole thing... Also, pointing out that it is not SWF vs solo queue, its survivor vs Killer. The balance between solo queue and swf doesnt matter in any way shape or form as they will never face eachother. I dont know how that smooth-brained idea became a thing but it most certainly isnt.

  • @scenicpickle said:

well wasn't expecting them to murder it :/

i thought maybe remove incapacitate or gen regression not both and the aura reading is such a goofy thing to add the scream was good to know they are on it but 10 sec aura reading is dookie it'll take me 10 seconds to hook the person i just downed

don't get me wrong I think Incapacitate was stupid cause it didnt just stop gens but healing and other stuff.

I personally think it should have been like deadlock like if some1 is on a gen block it for 15-20 seconds no regression just block it giving the killer enough time to choose one and to defend

Its just a kneejerk nerf that reeks of sheer incompetence. The whole thing is pethatic: Didnt need to be nerfed in the first place but saw a lot of survivors complain about a 25 sec incapacitation and the first thing BHVR did was worry about their skin sales so instead of tweaking it they set of a nuke and started praying at the shrine of Patron Saint Survivor of Easymode for their forgiveness. Don't worry BHVR, I am sure that with your total wrecking of Eruption along with the straight up cheat that you installed but for reasons beyond me call a HUD under the motto of "Quality of Life" that your skin sales are safe until the next update. Next time be more careful though, cant have killers actually get tools to get stuff done. The Sacred Council of Saint Survivor might not be so forgiving in the future.

  • @ProfessorDunwich said:

Legit question. I don't think it is. Even if you are finishing your chases quickly, if there is no gen regression from your chases (Pain Res, Jolt) or passive lockdown (Deadlock, Corrupt), gens will fly. As a result, Killers will have to play sweaty or see tbagging at the gates.

I expect Survivors to complain. BHVR makes camping/tunneling harder. Killers run more gen regression. BHVR nerfs gen regression instead of looking at the root of why it is needed to stand a chance.

Depends on the killer but for 27 out of 30: No.

That's not asking for a nerf though just kill switched. Two totally separate things.

It's not asking for a kill switch either, then it wouldve been reported in the bug report forum. So since it clearly isnt that, this means they are just trying to get the next wave of survivor crap started. I remain at my previous statement: Called it.

Oh no, I'm simply very interested in why you think PT is OP

I dont think its too strong in and of itself, I think that one less gen rushing perk would be a good thing as games are over way too quickly and since Prove Thyself is a major part of the current meta, it's the one to go. So not OP, but problematic nonetheless. Nuking it would shake the meta up and can help give back a bit of time to the killers, allowing more of them to be viable again. I own all 30 killers and 20 of them are just no fun to play as they simply require more time than you get in the current meta, making playing most killers just a garbage experience as you dont have time to get your killer going.

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3343776#Comment_3343776

Then you're not proposing making them actually similar to boons, which means this won't work. It's just giving killers the ability to keep hexes up almost constantly- at best, that's old Undying, which was changed for a reason.

Losing your hexes in ten seconds sucks. This isn't the answer.

Then lets hear you come up with a suggestion to improve the situation because you arent helping. You are, in fact, being every bit as detrimental to killers as the survivors are on this forum. How would you fix them because there is no point in running hexes currently and all that you say is "no that wouldnt work" for frankly bogus reasons while pretending to have an interest in the killer cause.

All I hear from you is negativity about people's suggestions to give killers a break for once after suffering nerf after nerf after nerf, the vast majority of killers are completely unusable or at the very least not viable. What is your suggestion? Keeping them as-is means people will use them exactly once and then never again as for as much potential they have, that potential never comes to fruition.

  • @Riski said:

The proposed eruption nerf is harsh there is no saying otherwise, it lost lot of potential as a gen defence perk and will struggle on your average killer. Despite this the new effect is interesting. 10 seconds of aura reading is very strong, as an alternative to a perk like Infectious Fright or Floods of Rage it defiantly has the ability to compete. Gen kicking has other options with Call of Brine and No Where to Hide so to say this perk will be unusable is a bit unfair as it has its synergies, but who will use it?

    1. Oni: The most obvious example, anyone who has ever used bitter murmur or Floods of Rage on Oni knows his potential with aura reading. Halfway across the map and need to activate power first, even the 5 seconds from Bitter Murmur can quickly translate to a down so getting 10 whole seconds is amazing. Infectious is already good on Oni but remember this perk has added synergy with No Where to Hide, CoB and Lethal which are all very strong perks on Oni too so I don't think one is strictly better than the other but it will be a good option on this killer. I could see you running eruption without other gen kicking perks on this killer in particular just due to how you use aura reading. Other high mobility killers like Blight or Billy could use this in a similar way or other killers with time sensitive powers like plague, although Oni stands out here as the best to use this.
    2. Ghost Face: Once you realise stalking someone to 99% is basically a ranged injure they can't heal, this combo seems so much better. Similarly to Oni perks like No Where to Hide and lethal are already good on this killer although I will say GF will be more reliant on these synergies than Oni. This last part of this isn't to do with the perk but GF, the fact that survivors on the ground reveal you can make this awkward and needing your power up after doing someone isn't something you always have control over. I can still see this being good however when used with Ghost Face Caught on Tape addon to recharge your power on down or perhaps even a use for Chewed Pen (a bit hopeful however). Huntress I'll quickly note as a similar example and although she'll like the aura reading even more she doesn't like having to slow down to kick gens as a 4.4 killer.
    3. Nurse Pyramid Head: Yea all perks a good on nurse but Pyramid is good for the same reason. These killers do want to be somewhat close to make use of the aura reading, nurse more so after the removal of range, but 10 seconds is long enough that you don't need to be too close and most situations after kicking a gen you won't be on the opposite side of the map afterwards. Aura reading on these killers combos greatly with their ability to ignore walls on their attack methods leading to a one sided interactions where the killer is heavily favoured. Nurse has a lot of good perk synergies but as with the previous bits No Where to Hide and Lethal which are good combos with eruption are also good on nurse. Pyramid doesn't love kicking gens but it isn't bad and he doesn't really have much else to do with his perks so you might as well.

I understand the backlash toward these change, seemingly redesigning the perk, however I feel like the perk keeps its identity as a trap and with the right killers you can make that trap feel punishing still. Perhaps 10% current regression is too harsh when compared to a flat 10%, although I don't think current regression is a complete death sentence for perks, and the cooldown could be removed if it's having a less oppressive affect but the new aura reading should lead to some fun and interesting new builds. I would like to hear if anyone else has any ideas as what they want to do with this, any killers I missed or fun interactions that could be done.

I think these are quite the stretch but I appreciate you trying to find some light in the darkness.

  • Nope, just the ability to place them back. Kinda annoying to lose 1/4 of your perks in the first 10 seconds of the game because a survivor spawned on top of it when facing up to 16 perks... 14 second placement is reasonable for a 4-man squad, killer is solo so 1/4th of that. I'll round it up to 4 seconds.

    Just went over that.

If hexes as a perk class need help, and I would say they do, the solution is not to try and force them to work like boons. They're not the same mechanic, what works for one doesn't work for the other.

Currently they arent the same mechanic, my proposal to make it the same. I say it does work, would be nice to actually reach the point where they work at their max potential for once... Your opinion isn't the end-all and be-all you seem to think it is.

You're telling me the ability to re-place Blood Favour or Devour Hope or old, pre-nerf Ruin wouldn't be too strong? We used to have that mechanic, in a way, with old Undying. It was changed for good reason.

Hexes being weak has very little to do with boons. Hexes are weak because they're just too easy to find on a lot of maps. That is, of course, entirely irrelevant to the topic of boons, but there it is anyway.

Exactly, so what is the problem with placing them back?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I don't really see why they would do anything to those perks. None of them are even in the same stratosphere as Eruption in terms of problematic design. Pain Res can be frustrating when everyone is having bad chases, but it doesn't give killers all of their time back with zero counterplay and broken synergy like Eruption.

I dont see why they would do anything about Eruption, as it was nowhere near the power level of top survivor perks, either but here we are...

Goddamn dude, a third thread to hassle me on?

Anyway, replaceable hexes would obviously be too strong for the majority of them, because the majority of them are much stronger (and stronger in a more direct way) than boons. This is clearly how the mechanic is intended to function, it's obviously a false equivalence.

Instadowns and moris, for instance, are a much more direct threat to survivors than blocked scratch marks in a limited area are for killer. Inability to use pallets or windows after a hit or a single vault respectively, that's a way bigger deal than 2% haste in a limited area. Weak hexes are just weak, they're not the fair standard for the whole mechanic.

Stop being wrong about everything and I wont have to challenge you. And no, it wouldnt be too strong as it isnt too strong the first time, it wont be too strong at any other time either. Personally I never bring hexes because they tend to get wiped in the first 3 minutes of the game. I would say two minutes but generally speaking the survivors are busy rushing two gens at that point of the game.

    Hi Scott.

I also think it would be fair to point out that BHVR does listen to Killers, remember the Patch 6.1.0 PTB? Remember how people called out Endurance stacking for being BS? I mean, that got removed as a thing before it came to live servers.

Hell Patch 6.1.0 in of itself shows that BHVR cares to the point of making basekit changes that could possibly kill their game, they took a huge risk, yet everyone ignores that.

If BHVR only cared about Survivors their game would already be dead. People dont look at the greater picture.

They only care about killers when the survivor queues get too long

  • @jesterkind said:

I don't think this change would be necessary for the majority of the boon perks, though. Dark Theory is pretty awful, Exponential is extremely situational, and while Shadow Step is definitely decent I don't think it's so strong that it warrants a permanent deactivation on snuff.

I feel like when you say "boons" you really just mean Circle of Healing, and you don't fix one perk by taking a sledgehammer to its shared mechanic. Old Undying wasn't fixed by nerfing hexes or totem placements, it was fixed by changing that perk specifically.

Can we get some re-placable Hexes too then, mr killer main? Most of them have no bite to them either...
