Not... really? Surely if I think the thing on "my side" (killer in this case) is too strong but the thing on the opponent's side is almost balanced, that implies I get too much value from one and see much less value from the other?
What it implies is that you disagree with me, which doesn't mean there's any skill issues going on at all. Frankly it's kind of insanely arrogant to think that someone who disagrees with you just isn't as good at the game as you, even setting aside how it doesn't actually make logical sense here.
I disagree with you because the picture you are painting has very little to do with what actually happens in matches.
-
I am not the one calling names, son. Nor am I the one with the skill issues.

Skill issue lmfao. Have you tried solo queue as survivor at all? 30s incapacitated btw so you're completely ignoring that fact. I mean do you even know how your own perks work properly or do you just go watch otz on youtube and copy paste his builds?
25 seconds incapacitated, not 30 noob... Eruption, the vast majority of time, hits 1 player. A gen regressing from 90% to zero when all a 4-man team has to do to prevent that is give it a split second touch is a skill issue like it or not. You are just bad. Even if you yourself got hit, that still means you did nothing for 65 seconds for it to fully regress. Skill issue.

The current stacking meta that killers using is unhealthy. Eruption with pain res + call of brine can take a gen from 90% down to 0 in 30s. But people say survivors have skill issues that's funny.
See, skill issue.
Generators regress by default at 0.25c/sec, so with Call of Brine makes it 0.5c/sec. If at 90% and hit by Eruption, Pain Resonance and Call of Brine at purple all at once (because that is the vast majority of instances *rolls eyes*) then the generator would initially be lowered by 25%, leaving it at 45c which with Call of Brine and no sneaky touching takes no less than 90 seconds to drain.
If you or one of your 3 teammates cant return to a gen in 90 seconds, that is definitely a skill issue.

I kinda feel like the various killer buffs and additions from recent patches combined with the game being in the healthiest spot it's ever been for killers disproves that all on its own.
This is overdramatic.
I don't remember seeing any buffs. Certainly you are not refering to the Knight being fixed to not be completely useless, right? Certainly you aren't refering to last July when small numerical adjustments had no improving impact in any significant way. I know you are not refering to anything in between simply because there were no buffs for killers. What are you on about?
-
I'd be highly surprised if it wasn't a Terminator. At first I thought the skull was a Servitor skull from Warhammer 40K but then I noticed the logo at the bottom right (about 10 seconds in) and I dont know but that does seem to be the Skynet logo.

Dead Hard was recently nerfed. I’m not sure what else they could do with the perk at this stage and I don’t find it anywhere near as powerful as it used to be. Can you still get use out of it? Well, yeah, but you can say that about every single perk in the game. It’s not as reliable as it once was.
Even as a David main, I’ve never fully understood the love for Dead Hard. In terms of exhaustion perks, I’ve always found Lithe to be far superior.
Delete it is a great option.

@FMG15 said:
Eruption was an overpowered and unhealthy perk for killers. But it had a "good" side effect. It offered low tier killers an alternative to tunneling against efficient survivors. And yes I'm aware that Eruption made tunneling more oppressive as well but it still was an alternative to tunneling for some killers. Low tier killers had something that reliably slowed down the game giving them more time to win. Survivors in the past months became increasingly efficient so for weaker killers the gen kicking meta is a great alternative to a playstyle where you camp and tunnel a survivor to death. Well now they killed Eruption and that insurance is almost fully gone but survivors will just keep being efficient on gens. The matches since the huge perk overhaul has become more and more sweaty and matches are now way shorter than before. So expect more killers to tunnel because the game incentivizes that playstyle. Remember, the game rewards you more for kills than hooks so killers are not going to be bothered playing fair.
Eruption wasn't unhealthy, you just have skill issues. Everything else is correct, though.

No, I just believe in reasonable criticism.
They'll never give killers anything worthwhile, they are hard survivor biased because most players are survivors so that is where most skins are sold so that is where the money is at. Killers are considered second rate customers and are only given scraps when the survivor queue gets too long.

I don't think they should be expected to arbitrarily tack on "and of course we're in the planning/discussion stage for [x side] changes too" every single time they discuss a change they're far enough along to actually start teasing. I especially don't think that them not doing that should be considered fair reason to start accusing them of horrendous bias and misconduct.

Wait, but how's that a skill issue? Surely if I were having skill issues I'd think the perk was stronger than it is, not weaker?
I also didn't say here that Dead Hard is fine, I said it's objectively weaker than prior to 6.1.0, because it is. I do think that DH is fine, with one exception, but that isn't actually what I said here.
Saying that Eruption wasn't that strong is a pretty incoherent take, you're definitely in a minority there.
You think that Dead Hard is fine and Eruption isnt. That means you are either underestimating how strong Dead Hard is or overestimating how strong Eruption is. Both those scenarios point at skill issues.

Dont get me wrong, I hated Eruption, I think it got nerfed a bit too much, but like Ive seen several posts of "they will gut all of the Killer perks and we wont have anything in 2 weeks" or some dumb stuff... calm down... I think BHVR is pretty disconnected from their community but it's not that bad.
Its always the killers getting gutted in every conceivable way, merely because survivors have skill issues, it has nothing to do with the perk itself
the only reason that OP skills like dead hard, prove thyself, kindred, lithe, sprint burst and off the record arent being nerfed is because they are on the survivor side, 80% of the "community" is on the survivor side so more skin are sold there so bhvr caters to that, there are no perks on that power level on the killer side and if through sheer incompetence someone at bhvr adds or modifies one to be that powerful you can rest assured that the skill will be obliterated to far worse than it originally was, it happens time and time again

-
@jesterkind said:
I think part of the reason you're coming to the conclusion the developers are survivor sided is because you've got some misconceptions about a few things. The biggest obvious misconceptions are your stated opinions on Prove Thyself and Dead Hard- you seem to present PT as some generator-deleting monster perk that has no counters and leaves a killer helpless in the face of tremendously fast completion times, when in reality it's like, seven seconds if two people work on a generator? That's still slower to complete two generators than if those two survivors split up on separate generators from the start, it's really not a problem, it's a placebo boogeyman people use to blame generator speeds on when there are wayyyy better targets for that.
Similar with Dead Hard. Claiming that Dead Hard is stronger now than it was before is objectively incorrect, which contributes a little to the main misconception that you seem to have. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like you're saying killers - especially M1 killers - need Eruption to stand a chance in the face of genrushing survivors, and that simply isn't true. No killer, on live servers right now, needs Eruption. They need slowdown in most scenarios, sure, but they do not need Eruption specifically. That perk isn't the one perk keeping M1 killers afloat and it's certainly not healthy for the game, it's just straight up overpowered and categorically needs a nerf.
(I do think it's being nerfed slightly too hard, but that's neither here nor there)
The bottom line is, the devs aren't survivor sided because they're nerfing something obviously overpowered. The devs don't really have much of a bias that I can see, they just make odd decisions sometimes and can be slow to act on problematic elements of the game. Similarly, killer as a role is not floundering or struggling tremendously, the game is the healthiest it's ever been for the killer role. You have tools at your disposal, they're just weaker than Eruption- because Eruption is too strong.
its not, its just you having skill issues

In the current era of DBD, if you are a really good player, you can absolutely win most of your matches regardless of build. By playing good macro, applying pressure to the correct areas and not auto-piloting, you can succeed.
Before you accuse me of lying, please note that I said most, not all of your matches. Sometimes, RNG can screw you over. Other times, your opponents are better than you. Sometimes, they're running full meta. It happens, but that's not the norm.
No, you can't. Not with most killers. Out of 30 killers at least 20 are completely useless. Sure, there are some people who own exactly 1 videogame and they'll still do well because it is all they ever do but for us mere mortals, a bit of help would be nice. Sure, I can tank my MMR and get back to noobie territory and wreck havoc but tell me exactly why I, as a paying customer, have to accept that everything BHVR does boils down to nerfing the stuff that I like to play with. Because I have no reason to accept that and as such I dont accept it.
And furthermore, why aren't they dealing with actual problem perks like Prove Thyself and Dead Hard. If anything needs needs to be beaten into oblivion with the nerf stick then it would be those two. But do they actually do something with the endless complaints?
Nope, they went: "Yes, everyone and their mother is complaining about DH and the gen rush meta but you know what we should actually do? We need to boost survivors even more. We have given them base kits and HUD that in any other game would be considered straight up cheats but what is needed is that killers have even more pallets thrown at their faces despite every single god damn map in this game is absolutely littered with them. This will be very nice as survivors have already got map choice which we all perfectly well know they shouldnt have in any way, shape or form and now they will be able to essentially perma-stun a killer on it. No more being careful with using a pallet, you can just do it forever and ever and ever. No consequences at all. Yes this will make for great gameplay".
BHVR = Incompetence central.

"I didn't even watch Otz video. I'm just being realistic. If I've said the same thing as him by happenstance then it must actually have some validity."
No, that makes you both wrong.
Mentioning a bunch of already obliderated perks that are not even half as good as a replacement is not a solution to anything. BHVR nukes the last perk that actually slows survivors down a bit in the current gen rush meta is idiotic at best and you going "There's other perks that damage generators" doesn't help in any way, shape or form. Do you really think killers are not aware of them or could it just be that what they offer is subpar at best? Because the correct answer here is the latter. They simply do not offer enough delay for the amount of time you need to gain from a perk for it to be actually worth bringing. You are then better off getting an all aura build and tunneling them.

In terms if sheer impact, as a regression perk Eruption isn't even one of the best. The way it activated was the main issue just needed tweaking and theyve certainly gone overboard. But, Call of brine is often doing all the heavy lifting.

Posts like this are so weird to me. Eruption is not the only good regression perk that was in the game, and you didn’t even need it to win as a m1 killer. I’m going to be honest, I don’t even use gen kick perks on any m1 killer… or any killer for that matter, and I literally do just fine in the majority of my matches.
Although, funnily enough, if people are face camping with dms/agi/pain res, they are wasting 3 perk slots on any survivor team that is actually in any way good.
That is mostly because you havent played killer ever and are flat out lying. If you had ever played killer youd know exactly what OP is talking about.

After confirming that the eruption will be changed, will there be any changes to Dead Hard? Just like survivors aren't interested in being useless for 25 seconds/eternity, assassins aren't exactly happy to have 3-4 Dead Hard every game. Will there be something with this perk? As well as the inability to use within a meter radius from pallets or windows.
By the way, is it possible for a knight to reduce the zone of "impossibility" to use the ability next to walls, etc.? Often, on hole cards, a lot of time is spent simply trying to use an ability.
I know there will be a Meta shakeup. I want a little bit of hope
They will never do anything about it. The devs are survivor-sided and incompetent while at it. I mean, this game is 7 years old and it still crashes regularly and lets not even talk about balance because the only balance there is, is survivors buying cosmetics balance and as such they will cater to their every whim. The only recourse killers have is letting the game die. Just don't play because we will never see anything good being added to the game. Survivors will cry and mommy BHVR will step in to nerf the ever living crap out of whatever it is. Eruption wasnt even that good and yet here we are. Last of the mediocre at best perks got nerfed... What a surprise...
-
@Devilishly_Rowdy said:
A broken perk like dead hard stayed in the game for 5+ years, eruption nerfed within just a few months of survivors complaining. Yet another perk that rewards the killer for not camping is nerfed, and then the devs will make a surprised pikachu face when killers camp more and more.

Unfortunately I have to disagree. They are not merely survivors-sided, they are also grotesquely incompetent. What is needed is a round of lay-offs and then new staff to rebalance the game properly. I mean, the game is 7 years old and it still runs like crap and that is just the start of it...

Do you play as a survivor? Eruption was unhealthy for the game, 8 of 10 games the killer had eruption and not being able to do anything for 25 seconds were absurd. And most killer use it to camp the 3gen, and don’t say “just 3gen yourself” when the killer refuse to leave the zone and force us to repair and get hook if we want to finish the game
I do play as survivor. I just go do something else... And getting 3 genned is your fault, not the killers nor the perks. Yours and yours alone.
-

Nobody should be ok with bringing back game breaking perks, problem here is that at no point was Eruption ever game breaking... You lot exaggerate the power of killer perks so much even though they are all #########. None of them do anything. It doesnt matter if you bring them. The map choice has more of an influence on the outcome of a game than anything else. A choice survivors shouldnt have btw.

How is the hud cheating?
In-game mechanics aren't cheating. What is your definition of cheating?
In-game mechanics that are added because a significant proportion of the player is cheating is still cheating, in-game or not doesn't matter in that particular case. You are not supposed to know what the killer is doing at all times. SWFs tell eachother anyway through voice comms and thereby cheat and BHVR in their infinite stupidity went "well, well, instead of dealing with it properly removing SWFs as this clearly doesn't work for this game, lets just make it so that everyone is cheating because if everyone is cheating then no-one is cheating". You have no business knowing what is going on on the other side of the map.

I know nothing will be done, but at least it is recorded so others do not think they are alone dealing with this frustration..
Next game was a blight and I successfully dh four times and only two of the times I went down.
This tells me there is something wrong with the parameters for the perk, that sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.
Since this has been a problem for years, I guess that is behaviors way of saying they cannot fix it. Perhaps they need to investigate other ways of fixing the problem. What if you halved the exhaustion recover rate for dh? You can't fix it to work correctly obviously, but you could show the players some love and at least make it easier to try again.
What do you think?

FOUR cheaters in 3 games in a row, seriously ? Two where flying across the map in the same game, one was running around touching gen and insta repair them and another one was able to unhook at 2nd stage, teleport in front of me and heal ( other survivors seen that too and start to hunt him but guess, he teleported to the gate and left )
Insta gen repair and speed hack are the common one but i have seen suvivors flying across the map, one had a MORI as offering, auto dead hard and mmy favourite, forcing you to DC plus having the dc penality, amazing
Cut the "it's an arm race" this game is in a terrible state right now, almost any game has at least a suspicious player when they are not obvious cheaters
And what i have to do ? Record all my games to provide evidence no one ever watch ? Use the amazing in game report ? Take a screenshot of the insta gen cheat ? Oh come on, where are all the anti cheat improvement you promised few months ago ?
This should be your top priority, not cosmetics and other useless things ! No one want a 100% cheater free game because it's impossible but this is not acceptable
Do you really think they are going to even try and stop it? They just added a whole bunch of cheats to the game themselves but they call it a HUD...

I promise you I will never stop camping, tunneling and slugging. Goodbye forever.
-
There is a bug with an add-on to the map that causes you to see the hatch before it spawns. BHVR in their undying wisdom is refusing to fix it.
-
It's what survivors want. They want to be slugged, camped and tunneled. If they didn't, they wouldn't force me to. I play The Doctor, The Dredge, The Cenobite and The Artist. I like their stuff but at my MMR there is no point in playing fair because every match looks like this:
II'll be lucky to get 1 kill if I play fair. And so I don't. This is why survivors should be forced to run completely unique perks because every chase takes minutes on end to complete. Killers are lacking far too much power against this nonsense. And to be clear: this is pretty much all I encounter. Full SWF cheating through use of Discord, Telepathy by Daylight HUD and these broken builds. And what does BHVR do... Look into nerfing Eruption and Boon: Circle of Healing. BHVR is a total joke. With this you don't even need skill. Just run to killer shack or one of the far many loops on a map and it'll take minutes for me to get you. Might be a different story with nurse or blight (from what I read on these forums but grain of salt taken because the exact same people complain about Eruption despite if I were to rate it myself it would be a 3.5 on a scale of 1 to 5 at best) here but most killers have no way of dealing with this bs in ways that is even remotely timely considering how much BHVR has boosted gen rushing. No point in switching to a different survivor either because the same bullshit will start over. This garbage is ruining the game.
Remove SWF or at least give me option to exclude from getting matched against time (I am fine going up against 2-man, 4-man is just not fun in any way, shape or form as it is an automatic loss), nerf these stupidly OP perks, enforce unique perks on survivor or at least penalize not running unique perks. There's 30 killers and 28 of them are useless against this bs, if I am to believe the forum, since there are only two that is being complained about and I assume that is because they can't win by holding W and pressing spacebar every now and again.
-
No, I am busy chasing. With perks like lucky break, distortion and all the others that make survivors completely disappear in a split second, I do not have the time to look to a HUD that shouldn't be there in the first place.
-
@Toaster427 said:
Ever since I started focusing on leveling up my survivor to respectable levels I've noticed killers either
A. Dodge the lobby multiple times making me wait longer
B. Go into the match as sweaty as can be, instantly tunneling and camping right at 5 gens because they believe high prestige survivors ='s skill....which it doesn't...I suck...
C. Purposely throw the match just to kill me first or do something toxic towards me.
Why the heck am I even doing this? This is all I get from this, the game punishing me because I leveled up a character...there's literally no upside to this.
So now cause I screwed up I have to switch survivors, cause now I'm being targeted every match and my lobbies take forever. which just makes me want to stop playing all together cause I don't want to reset everything I have just to do that. Thanks, this was such a wonderful idea!
So the new HUD is fine, letting you know exactly what the killer is doing at all times but the killer cant even see your prestige rank? Very interesting indeed...

They planned an entire roadmap, they shared news, they promised and delivered. They made SoloQ much better now with the new HUD that they worked so hard on and they surprised us with Maurice skin and william birkin for blight. Why are you hating on them even though they deliver good patches?
Why? Because they have a potentially fun game on their hands here and they take every single bad decision you could possibly make. Take for example the new HUD. If anything, the HUD should've been removed, not expanded. They shouldn't allow for SWFs but no, let the survivors get on comms with eachother and cheat by telling eachother information they in no way should be privy to. Always siding with survivors no matter how wrong they are, point in case Eruption. Going to get nerfed solely because survivors are whining. There is nothing about it that is actually too strong about it.
Serious issues like the repair speed are not being addressed because 3 gens being repaired within 2 minutes: nope, that works as intended. Nerfed Dead Hard? Haha, no they just changed the way it functions and remains a completely free health state every 40 seconds that causes the killer to stand still and lose Bloodlust. What? Solo queue not as good as cheating by using voicecomms? Let's give everyone cheats!! Yay, what a great decision...
Even with the for fun stuff BHVR sucks. New skins on the killer side are an extreme rarity and most of the skins that come with the characters are just lazily recolored trash based on uninspired outfits.
Look at this garbage. The same uninspired, tired outfit 8 times (there's one more if I scroll down). Now I have every killer but I dont play every single one of them. The killers that I like are not viable at the MMR that I have reached because there is simply no perks on the killer side that help in any meaningful way. Eruption is getting nerfed asap and I am sure Call of Brine will follow shortly. The rest of the perks have no influence on the game in any meaningful way. But BHVR just keeps nerfing away for absolutely no reason at all. Apparently Nurse and Blight are viable at the highest MMR's so I will be switch to them but surely BHVR will fix that shortly. It is just the type of thing those talentless hacks would do... Killers get absolutely no love from BHVR. Can't blame me for going "Like-wise".
I hope that answers your question.

why doesnt everybody just use breakdown and deliverance and petrified oak. Literally Disables a hook for 3 minutes. What kind of stupid nonsense is that?! Don’t even get me started on reassurance+distortion and kindred bait builds.
hooks are starting to feel like pointless objectives. Might as well start running kill builds.
You should. Survivors want to be slugged. This should be evident to anyone from the way they play. And as good, wholesome killers we should grant their wishes. I mean, sure, they come on here claiming that isn't what they want but when their actings speak so loud, how could we possibly deny them?
