It works vs slugging, outside of slugigng it has literally no use. You could say the same thing with for the people and SWF it has been less than a day give it time FFS
I used FtP right away like this and it 90% of a time a killer just hit the downed survivor again because during the falling animation the survivor couldn't move. With the new perk, however, it is highly possible to pull such a trick without any effort.

a skilled killer can counter all of those perks, your just making an excuse because you cant hit someone more then 2 times
A skilled survivor can counter all killer counters.π₯ Don't pull that card on me, how do YOU suggest countering it without specific perks?

Those people never said it could potentially be strong, they straight up said it was overpowered.
And you're using some specific scenarios where any killer that's able to connect their brain cells will know how to counter.
This is a niche situation, unless you're using a hex this perk is pretty much usseles, and if they dont want to do the hex than that's pretty much a win for you and them, and if 4 of them are using the perk and someone cleanses the totem, than you're losing 1 perk and they're basically losing 4...
You can wait 8s which isn't that much and if they make it to a pallet just hit them and break the pallet, they have to mend and they wasted a pallet.
Or you know, you can maybe pick up the survivor instead of sluggin' ya know.....?
But yeah, the PTB doesn't even have 1 day and you're already here claiming the perk is overpowered, you do you I guess.
People tend to say that Sabotage was overpowered but it faced the same issue and Breakout did. Hook distances.
How do you suggest countering it, you down a survivor and while you wipe your weapon another survivor picks them up and dead hards away so it's only a picked up survivor near you. How do you counter it without specific perks, mister with connected braincells?
You don't need HEX for endurance to be triggered.
Get that pallet they've reached instead of hooking someone. As if you have whole time in the world before gens are done against SWF.
Again, wiping animation lasts long enough to use FtP, I know it because I used it like that, you don't even slug.
Ugh, you know what? DH + BT + DS + Adrenaline is far better for you, I guess, continue enjoying it.

Remember when people were saying breakout was going to be op in swf?
Btw 3 perks...
Breakout could be powerful in hands of SWF, BUT as a team you would need to leave all your gens, come around a killer, bodyblock and become injured and that's if the hook wasn't near. It costs too much for each member of your party (4 injured survivors who aren't fixing gens). People were just saying it could potentially be very strong.
The combo I named requires only 2 people around, it may be still expensive to pull off (1 injured and 1 deep wounded but 2 survivors who are fixing gens) during an early game but it's definitely worth it during the rest of a trial if you know how to position yourself and how to play generally.
-
@LetsPlayTogether said:
So what? May works exactly once. Against a skilled killer it surely wont work. With dedicated already never.
Come healed, use FtP, use Dead Head, let your teammate get a hit with Endurance. You probably forget that unless you have STBFTL, your attack recovery will give enough time to pull this all if the team is coordinated.

Not much different than an Animal Crossing character in an F-Zero car speeding through a Zelda map in Mario Kart. π
DBD is kinda special in this case because now we have something similar to this in horror universes. I know we had MK that kinda collected a few licenced slasher killers but DBD is just on a whole new level.

I remember creating a thread there I discussed an idea of survivors being able to get more than one item during a trial and I got mostly negative drawback from killers who were totally against it despite all the possible pros they could get. Overall they claimed that survivors need to loose their add-ons as well, so it's something that community wanted, I guess.
But the fun part is that, considering the usual amount of bloodpoints survivors get, using survivor items with add-ons is EXTREMELY expensive and not as effective as killer add-ons in any sort of way most of the times. Comparation:
For survivor: Brown toolbox (3000) + Instructions (3000) + Clean Rag (3000) = extreme waste of space (9000!!! It's nearly a half of usual survivor BP gain! AND IT HURTS MY SOUL HOW USELESS IT IS.)
For a killer (the Spirit): Gifted Bamboo Comb (3000) + Zori (3000) = powerful add-ons that help a lot (just 6000, it's just a 1/4 of all bloodpoints a killer usually gets, drop BBQ and you're rich!)
Now, waste your bloodpoints on useless items and add-ons you may just loose during a match while you have a whole cast of characters you need to prestige and/or level up! Grind is fun!!! And don't forget that now you'll always loose your add-ons, unless you bring a perk that isn't really meta in any way.

No one ever stated or even alluded to the fact hat only survivors are op.
"Killers we're constantly being nerfed last update with survivors constantly being buffed." Don't even try it, why else would you write that? If we follow you logic here and say that killers are constantly getting nerfed and survivors are constantly getting buffed, doesn't it mean that survivors are OP? Either killers were OP and now they are getting nerfed for good, or survivors get unjustified buff that gives them too much of an advantage, aka they have become OP.

The only consistent tell she has is shards which are already difficult to see.
All other animations or resets or hair flying are inconsistent and bugged.
The shards (the only consistent tell) are hidden in school skins. So not really consistent after all if you throw in some money.
Here is a good discussion about it by Scott jund.
I don't agree with all of it. I don't think spirit needs to give more tells. I just think she needs to be scratch mark dependent instead of audio que dependent, that make her "mind games" and lack of information justifiable.
Her animation "bugs" are too visible and 99% I can see them. Train your eyes. I play on low settings, maybe it helps, idk.

Yeah, they balance things that need to be balanced. Why can't you apply the same logic on your own statement? There aren't things that need a nerf hummer from the devs on the killer side? Use your brain for once. It goes BOTH ways.

That's not the point of my post at all. I'm saying the killer is supposed to kill you. No matter if its tunneling camping or slugging those are all allowed and it doesnt matter how your killed. And how dunce are you. Have you forgotten about the nurse rework, the legion rework, the ruin nerf, the constant nerfing of spirit. The entirety of haddonfield and the game as a map? Your acting as if this last update is the games first update. Killers we're constantly being nerfed last update with survivors constantly being buffed.
The last update just removed a good chunk of strong loops, devs are about to rework the Clown. I agree, there are a lot of things that need polishing but give it some time.
Have you forgotten about the insta-heals nerf, toolboxes nerf, the BNP nerf, the gen times nerf, the skillcheck bonus nerf? The game is constantly changing, and things for both sides change. Yeah, killers could have got some more love but I think devs are working on it considering recent updates.
Buddy, I've seen oppressed killers on this forum. But your speech here sound like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjedLeVGcfEAlso, you're keeping my comment here as a bright example of an "entitled survivor"? Shesh, how rude of you.
-
@Nazeef13 said:
I think the devs underestimated how easy it is to pinpoint where survivors are with audio cues.
The whole design of spirit is you have to use unreliable tracking of scratch marks, because survivors become invisible while in phase. In return, you get to close the majority of distance between you and survivor, and they don't know where you are either.
But with audio cues, the survivor being invisible doesn't matter, as it's not too difficult to pinpoint them and smack them directly out of phase (assuming you have decent headphones).
So now spirit knows exactly where you are, can close the distance, and you have no idea where she is. The problem is the audio ques, as it tips the balance of information that the killer has for survivor, while the survivors don't have info.
If you don't think audio cues are that impactful, I'd like to see how bad spirit performance gets if chase music continues to blast during phase or if audio cues are silent in phase. spirit actually having to use unreliable scratch marks instead of being headphone dependent. I'm sure she wouldn't be a killer to complain about.
Also, she still has pay to win skins.
Which ones? Her animation has a lot of clues when she uses her power so I'm pretty sure you don't have a skin which removes all of them.
-
@Snowstruck said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/154145/rare-opinion-spirit-is-actually-balanced
If you need a certain perk just to counter a killer, it's not very balanced.
But you shouldn't be able to fully counter a killer at the same time. If had a way to just deny the killer's power, that wouldn't be balanced either.

I 100% doubt you were referring to yourself as bloodpoint hungry considering you didnt even use that as a defense in your original reply. Even without your entitlement my point still stands. Theres too many people who complain about killers killing and the way they do it.
And I highly doubt you're a both side player who just doesn't stick to a killer side because your replies just show it! β€οΈ If you're gonna keep my comment as an example of your argument here, it just proves it, because you only want to hear evil criticism towards your side so you could come here and write "Look at these survivors who say killers shouldn't kill, how dumb!"
Instead of explanation you rushed to create this thread, you even wrote a comment referring to it as if you made some valid points. What a comeback! But the truth is that you just mocked your own side into the ground because you only saw what you wanted to see. I wrote "Well, I just get constant 4k and don't let survivors escape because I love bloodpoints, kinda wack that survivor can do nothing about it", you saw and put it here as if it was "lmao, yeah, I'm a rank 14 killer who just started playing and I get a lot of kills, killers are easy, nerf them and give a free hatch escape for survivors". Do I need to send you screenshots to prove you that it's you the one making things up? Or let's go into a private match with me as a killer, it would be fun! But, Idk, playing against a Blendette with self-care isn't productive.
On the side note, not every single person that disagrees with you is an arrogant survivor main, love. Keep being pressed, very mature. I like complaining about survivors too, but just except that no matter how many times you scream into a wall, nothing will change. Just don't let yourself go down on the same leve-... Ooops, you already did! How pitiful. We don't like hearing whiny survivors, are we? When stop whining about others yourself.
And your nickname... Is it some kind of irony? Because otherwise the irony would be your presence here. π

How can someone be this entitled. Dear killer mains. If you decide to get a 4k you're thirsty for bloodpoints. No debate. You're not supposed to kill last survivor apparently.
Okay honey, you think you can just come here with my piece of text and put it as if I was writing some entitled survivor main BS. Now, listen here. You may have read it as if I was cocky here and called all killers literal garbage for wanting to get 4 kills. What you didn't get that I was absolutely serious in this text and I was referring to myself in a rather rude manner. I'm calling MYSELF a Spirit who is thirsty for bloodpoints. Because that's the main reason I don't like letting the last survivor escape with a hatch. That's my issue that lead me to think "strange, I thought the escape chance was supposed to be bigger even without me acting like that".
It's really dumb of you to put it in this way considering that I play as killer the major part of my time because I hate the solo survivor cr@p i have to go through. Maybe it's my bad usage of vocabulary that caused you thinking that I was complaining about killers but I even wrote you that I was playing as killer a lot, I'm experience as a killer and I see the issue from both sides and give my opinion on it.
The devs put hatch with the big "it's always a chance to escape" announcement. But the chance was too small in some cases and as the result I can see that the community is fine with it, so whatever.
Now you took it as a whole new level of a thread and instead of calmly discussing it there you just posted my comment here? Holy moly, I'm not really a person who calls people too sensitive but you took it like it was some kind of insult for every single killer player.
I even wrote you that as a survivor I don't like being spared, it shows that I'm the last person to be a whiny little survivor who screams "the hatch must be a free escape". I've NEVER said so, I was only confused about how low the actual escape chance number was. I wouldn't mind making it bigger because right now I either get a team that I demolish and get a 4k, or a get a good team that survives and leaves me with 1-2 kills. It's the picture I get because of the matchmaking we have at the moment, surely I got negative feedback and it's okay, it makes me only happier that noone here us against the way I'm getting my EG kills.
I wrote you in my thread but you had just made your own thread, how cute. I hope now you understand everything because you see too much where there is nothing deep.

You're one of those people huh. Dont try and use that I get 4ks too often bs. You dont account for the entire community. And how does a killer killing the last survivor make them thirsty for blood points? Are you dumb. It's literally the killers job to kill you. You wouldn't let a killer kill you after a gen rush? How entitled can you be. Its their job. they aren't bloodpoint thirsty for doing the objective you dunce. The killer is supposed to kill you. Hes not supposed to scare you off gens. And hes not supposed to reward you if you're last survivor. Hes supposed to kill you.
ποΈπποΈ I AM the one doing the whole thing? And because solo survivors so bad nowadays against non-M1-killers I get high killrates all the time? What's the deal with that???
Killing the last survivor with the whole process of chasing until there are only 2 gens left gives much more bloodpoints than killing all 3 at the beginning and loosing the forth survivor due to the hatch. Add BP offerings, BBQ, boom, you're kinda rich. It's kinda the whole in-game goal point of playing? Emblems go red as well after doing it, soooo...
Mate, if a killer tries to free me for nothing, I refuse to the point I fix all gens and let EGC kill me. I don't know why you're starting all that beef at me when I just pointed out a way of denying the hatch escape. Like, at this point it's just a thingy to start EGC, so the last survivor wouldn't stealth for the whole decade. That's it.

You failed to do gens, and you failed to find the hatch, then you are a given one more chance to escape. The game is over the second the survivor finds it but itβs not when the killer does.
Even if you do find the hatch, the killer in the scenario knows it's location, so it's useless at this point.

No, even with a killer with good mobility, you always have a chance. Think about it. It's tiny, but there's a chance.
Bruh, here's a challenge, escape against a good Spirit with good add-ons in this scenario. But, I guess, there's a chance if you have all criteria above, be near gates from the very beginning, the hatch spawns very far away from the gates and a killer goes to the wrong gates, you may escape, congrats! Take your 0.1% chance and be happy.

Finding the hatch as a killer is not a guarantee. It's a chance.
The situation:
I kill 2 survivors before the hatch spawns, 4 gens left, 2 survivors left. I find someone BUT I just chase them for a while so another survivor fixes gens until only 2 left. I down the chased one and look for a hatch, I have so much time to find it. After I look around, I get to a downed survivor, hook them, get back to a hatch and close it. Always works.

The point of the hatch is to reward whoever finds it first. Heaven forbid it not be a 100% guaranteed escape for the last Survivor. I mean, they lost, but some people on here expect to still get away for free.
What? Should it glow? Should it not let the Killer close it? Should it just teleport the final Survivor out of the match when it opens?
It goes to whoever finds it first.
As a killer I ALWAYS can find it first because I can wait until it spawns. Can you get it?

Hatch is a mechanic based on RNG sometimes you get lucky sometimes you dont sometimes the killer finds it before you but you still have a chance to technically escape through the door again based on the RNG either you get lucky or you don't but to sit here and say you can never escape is false and very bait worthy.
Can you read? It's not about RNG when a killer waits until it spawns and finds it first.
Idk about the doors but if you play as a high mobility killer, it's impossible to escape after the hatch is closed.

The hatch is a CHANCE to escape. C H A N C E. It's not a guarantee escape. If you find it first, congratulations! You escaped! If the Killer finds it first, you have another chance, albeit a lower one, to open an Exit Gate.
That's the point of the hatch. It doesn't guarantee the Survivors an escape, it only gives them one after they failed to finish their objective.
Well, I don't even give you a chance because I always find the hatch as a killer. You get me?
