  • S Tier is for Overpowered Killers.

Killers should all be around A and B tier.

Using the absolute strongest killer as the lowest balance level power for all Killers is ridiculous.

  • I threw a pallet at the start. The killer refused to go under it. He got a hit on me when I moved away since he was refusing even in exchange for a hit. I stood back under it and got him to down me/I stunned him. He knew what I was doing and really wanted to be difficult. :/

  • Seeing as I was hyped for Twins in terms of playstyle while many people threw fits and now I'm hyped for Trickster in terms of gameplay, looks, animations, and sound design... even though several people are throwing hissy fits about him not being scary enough... I honestly now feel a bit bad for the FNAF fans out there wanting in in DBD cause I see how it's like to be attacked for liking a character someone else thinks RUINS EVERYTHING. Being open minded is a lot more fun than being a closed off raging party pooper.

I see most people suggest Springtrap, but as someone outside of the fandom... I always think of the bear, fox, bunny, and chick as the icons of the franchise. Imagine if say the player could switch from the bear, bunny, and chick with a decent cooldown. Meanwhile the "unused" two would wander around where they were left in a certain radius. Of course they'd need some sort of other power to be more dangerous, but it's neat to think they could be Legion done better.

No because she nearly completely negates so many perks/builds. I don't find that fun.

This. Also Quentin seems to bug out and nonstop barf when sick. Seriously on the gen... he never stopped barfing.

I enjoy her theme and existence, but I'm not really one to enjoy her matches.

  • Imagine being so petty over a optional video game character.

Spirit and Blight aren't my personal favorites, but at least I give them their positives and respect their existence for their fans.

  • Trickster works imo cause of the knife tricks, the bat tricks, and tricking all of the world into thinking he was some tragic hero when he let his band die and started killing people for their screams that he put into his music and got away with it all. Then the whole trick of gassing his entire boss line up and slaughtering them in a concert.

Meanwhile Clown? Throws bottles and coughs like Homer?!? Nurse? Teleports?!? Hag?!? Draws mud triangles?!?! Etc.

  • Drag Queen? Nah fam, we need a Drama Queen character to represent our player base!

Not a Kpop fan and I love this chapter. It needs a map in the future though.

I ran into a team of Dwelfs once. At first, I was like "OH GOD THIS IS GOING TO BE MISERABLE" because I spent the first two minutes patrolling generators. Found nobody. Eventually they made some noise, and we went into the basement, where they let me take turns hooking them. One of them even wanted a party hat, and was definitely in a party mood, even though I wanted him to make it. Nice fella's.

I was so torn on actually killing them off, but I really don't like Blight and ain't the best with him either. Add in his perks which are alright but noting exceptional, and I had a very long few days trying to get his Adept done in Red Ranks. I was worried I would get cheated out of it again though, and then I would of killed them for no reason. But it popped up and it's over now. Blight's menu music is kind of tragic and added to my guilt though.

  • I've had people get mad at me for not going for saves against Bubba or NOED Killers basement camping. Like no, I rather not feed them the 4K! Trapper wise it depends on how much he is guarding and how good he is. Some Trappers can get overrun if all 3 are undoing his traps and making him lose control of the spot.

  • The extremely negative youtube content creator makes a poll for his parrots and the results are negative? Who would of thought it!

The forums and twitter actually have more positivity towards The Trickster with most of the negative being concern on his power level needing buffed. Most youtube videos, reactions, and posts are people saying he is a ton of fun but needing some buff love. So no, you don't speak for the majority.

  • @Okapi said:

Nurse, Spirit, and Freddy would be the finalists as they're undead beings with supernatural powers. You cant' kill them.

Meh, they're in the entity's world. Everyone is on = footing in terms of that. Otherwise you got a bunch of "can never dies" smacking each other with pool noodles.

I dont think Wraith would ever uncloak. And with his speed while invisible, he would get easy the second place.

Going off game logic, he can only attack uncloaked. If he can attack while invisible, that'd be a buff to him. However, I think he'd still place about the same, possibly only beating out Trickster and PH with that in mind. His weapon is melee and his breathing is loud. He certainly wouldn't get the drop on Huntress or Oni.

  • 1st Wave of Victims

Legion - Inexperienced knife wielding teens would get crushed.

Clown - Unhealthy, unfit fat guy with a knife.

Ghostface - Normal guy with a knife.

Pig - Normal woman with a knife.

Freddy - Tiny man with knife finger glove things.

Plague - Slow and her power takes time to damage. Trash tier weapon of choice.

Twins - Victor would get stepped on, Charlotte would go in rage and die dumbly with her melee weapon.

    2nd Wave of Victims

Trapper - Doubt he's have time to set up anything, slightly better melee weapon

Hillbilly - Too dumb and wreckless, loud weapon

Leatherface - Too dumb and wreckless, loud weapon

Myers - Ignoring movie logic, he'd struggle only using a kitchen knife and brute strength against everyone

Nurse - Fatigue would be her death

Demogorgon - Smarter combatants will beat out the more feral animals.

Hag - Same as above. Weapon isn't the best.

Blight - Same as above Demo. Cane isn't the best weapon at all.

    3rd Wave of Victims

Doctor - Not sure how much the shocks would slow the others down. He literally gives off his location. His weapon is mediocre.

Wraith - Stealth and smarter, but ringing his bell would be a huge opening like Nurse's fatigue.

Pyramid Head - Big target and pretty slow. Some points to him for his supernatural aspects.

Trickster - Ranged. Most people are ignoring how huge of a advantage range is. He has speed and agility allowing him to kite most Killers, but his ego would get him killed as he'd drop his guard at some point.

Spirit - Ghostly teleports would let take out many, but she isn't that strong and more hyper aware Killers like Huntress would find and kill her.

Deathslinger - Ranged. He could instantly take out most of the cast with a head shot, but his reload would get him killed.

    Finalists

    Oni and Huntress

Both have the the battle knowledge, the power, the speed, and the weapons. It'd be intense. I'll pick... Huntress only cause I feel she could get the drop on someone more than thunder boot Oni. Honestly, they both would probably die in the end from injuries suffered.

  • I don't run self care often, but there are times I wish I had it. Like if I'm injured and my only fellow survivor left is hooked. I want to save them and could pull off something if healed up, but it's now leave them to die or trade.

  • He's strong and easy to use. Very little thought has to go into playing him while he has a overloaded kit. He isn't Nurse, Spirit, or Blight in terms of power level... but there really isn't room to make mistakes with him like there is for those 3. Also many Survivor will take themselves out of the match, so it's even easier cause the player base can't even stand playing against him.

  • I'd like to see Swamp, Coldwind, and Haddonfield updated.

But I would love for them to promise to bring in maps for Trickster, Blight, and Twins after the fact. Trickster especially could have a really incredible map and would be the one to pick if we only got one "make up" map.

  • I felt they could of gave him like 3-4 buffs to help him out. Longer time before Laceration decay and it decays slower to not force you to always all in on someone, bump his MS up a bit so throwing daggers doesn't make you lose as much ground, Main Event QoL and bug changes, and possibly the bouncing blades as base kit without the damage increase.

We got some QoL and bug changes on Main Event. It's at least something? But ya, I feel he will need more love than this.

  • Egh, I'm a little let down that he didn't receive some solid buffs. I guess they could be worried people haven't learned him well enough, but I usually let him choose to kill or spare me at the end cause most of them lost... hard. Could they at least bump up his movement speed then? Throwing the daggers is fun, but you lose distance fast while some sight blockers can start to reset your progress. And the Laceration decay should take longer and be slower.

  • Wow so the action of running is now overpowered. Survivors need to start off crawling and bleeding out in the basement. Certain killer main streamers are constantly complaining about the overpowered Survivors as they 4K almost every match and it's... just laughable and hard to take them serious.

Also interesting you always hear about the "Survivor Rulebook for Killers" but not the other way despite it existing as well.

  • There is no such thing as a good or nontoxic Bubba. They are the trash dwellers of the Killer roster like Nancy is for Survivor. They are bad, they are toxic, and they most certainly will make at least one person rage.

Also typically they will have NOED so rushing the gens results in them getting another kill or team wipe.

  • Lots of Bloodpoints for both the Killer and Survivors mori'd. (giving Survivors something to, so less will RQ) Balance wise, they are now where they should be. Anything more and they will be broken again.

  • It's annoying and toxic, but there isn't really a solution unless we get a forfeit option as the last Survivor.

  • Everything about Leatherface in DBD was a mistake. He attracts the literal worst of the player base like Meg and Nancy while literally existing as the ultimate camper with incentive to face camp rarer (Jake) survivors for some dumb cosmetics.

    Yes, I hate him.

  • I personally don't want to see him stronger. He's obnoxious as he is now. Not overpowered or underpowered, just obnoxious.

Calm Spirit is also not a suitable argument for counters to him. That perk is pretty much nonexistent for a reason.

  • Nerfs like this to Survivors also buffs the S or A tier Killers. Would you be fine with the nerfs to Blight, Nurse, Hag, Spirit, and Freddy (maybe more like Oni) that would have to go through as well?

Like I get playing some Killers the gens are heard to keep under control, but there is no wide spread nerf to Survivors that won't sky rocket certain Killers who already slaughter teams into unstoppable.

  • As a Killer main you said yourself, I think you're ignoring the pure amount of toxicity and frustrations that many solo survivors go through that can lead them to KOBE. Sometimes it really is the right choice as well. And just cause the Killer doesn't want you to die then and there, doesn't mean he or she is actually going to let you play a enjoyable match. They're just upset they can't farm and control when you get killed off.

Altering it is also going to nerf Survivors in the situations where one kills themselves to let the other try for hatch.

I do understand the frustration though, but more than likely that Survivor was pushed even further into frustration than you to the point they snapped. If only people were nicer to each other in a videogame meant for fun.

  • I don't enjoy those matches cause either he fails and everyone gets poor scores/bloodpoints or he pulls it off... and everyone gets poor scores/bloodpoints. Went against one on the Trickster PTB and knew what he was going for. Locker'd his booty and he only killed one person. I may of felt a little bad, but again it was the PTB for Trickster... I wasn't on there for that type of match.

  • Nah, ladies can keep the onesies and the guys can keep getting shirtless.

I have played this game for ~4 years and have never faced a mint rag hag. I could probably count on one hand the amount of rusty shackles games I was the survivor in.

I see hag maybe once a month, if that.

Being rare to be used doesn't excuse power level. Keys weren't that common for a long time despite being the same power level as they are now. All it takes is some streamers and youtubers to start playing and talking about stuff and it blows up. It's not that crucial to fix though compared to more used balance issues though. But if Hag ever hits it big, she''ll likely need toned down in a couple spots. Nothing major though.

  • my-image (2).png

Based on visuals, sounds, and animations with some lore....

S Tier - I've always been impressed with Oni's imposing figure, animations, and sounds. He's a big beefy boy coming to squash you. Trickster is amazing despite his haters. His lore, looks, animations, and sounds make him one of the most expressive Killers which perfectly ties into him being a egotistical and vain nutcase. Wraith is a cool spooky boy and his bells sounds are awesome, he's the best of the original 3. Huntress is big amazon woman coming to crush her foes, and there's not much to dislike about that in one of our first female killers. My only nitpick is her lack of shoes, seriously you'd think she'd wear shoes in a hard to survive forest.

A Tier - Doctor has a amazing visual design, even if I hate everything else about him. Seriously, they knocked the theme out of the park for him, but I despise ever facing against him. Plague is in the same boat as the Doctor, this Priestess is amazing even if I'm not a body horror fan. I just love the vibe of her even if I wanted to KOBE the second I get puked on and have to listen to my character nonstop barf on a gen. (seriously, they can bug out and not stop barfing... it's obnoxious) Hag is the creepy zombie grandma brutally eating people, and I appreciate her for it. Weirdly though her lore has taken her down some other path as some young high school girl in the not distant past. Nurse is one that sometimes I feel meh about, but I currently am feeling her again. She's cool even if a bit washed out in all whites. Deathslinger feels unique and I appreciate him for that.

B Tier - Ghostface and Myers are iconic though a bit bland on design. Their legacy carries them more than the actual look itself. Trapper and Hillbilly served their purpose as originals, but I do feel they are a bit more one note/stale than later additions. Pyramid Head is cool but a little goofy and simple. Demogorgon is neat, but he's a bit one note in coloring.

C Tier - I appreciate their take on a Clown, but I wish he was more Clown themed and less asthmatic Homer. Blight never struck me as something awesome or exciting. He exists. Spirit is alright, but a naked asian lady felt a bit too on the nose for waifu bait. She'd later get a school girl outfit to further this outlook of her. Leatherface is just there.

D Tier - Idea behind Legion is alright, but all of them on their own is pretty flat and uninteresting. Also Julie being a literal gender bend on Frank's model makes her boring. Pig is nothing special and nothing interesting. Even after looking into her movie scenes and the like, she's boring and meh. The Pig Mask is thrown on to make her sppoooookyyyy, but it's highly unpractical and makes her seem like she trying to emulate an actual pig with her grunts and roars... which is just weird. Freddy despite his iconic status.... has always looked kind of silly and dumb to me. A tiny man with a ugly Christmas sweater wearing a fedora with scissors fingers. Even Susie looks like she could beat him up.

Twins was forgotten on this tier list maker. I'd place her and Victor in B tier around Trapper and Hillbilly. They serve their purpose decently enough, but they do feel a bit lacking.

  • @hiken said:

why do u want a nerf to a killer that barely ever gets played? she might be the less played killer in the game. at the very least top 5. also what nerf? she is one of those few killers wich survivors can delete his ability (wich shouldnt be possible). flashlights urban evasion, hag is strong but most people doesnt know how to play her so its not a problem.

Cause the few who do play her know how broken she can be. Also Mint Rag is beyond broken. Doesn't matter if you crouch walk to save someone when she teleports on command and now one shots both of you with MYC and the distance preventing the BT.

She is just unpopular in terms of playstyle as more strategy and less pew pew. And she is less popular in looks than the naked blue asian lady running around moaning with a optional school girl outfit for reasons.

My advice to this is don't get downed near the basement against a trap killer.

If I get caught I steer myself away from basement against hag and trapper because it's easy to lock down for them. Even if it lessens the time you are chased, it helps secure your escape.

Same goes for bubba, I'll try lead him towards jungle gyms where I can easily escape his chainsaw if he camps.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2018808#Comment_2018808

Wow you have played for a while then pal.

Whilst to some extent I agree with you, the issue is that what your saying would be a pretty big nerf to her.

If she can't trap near hooks, then she can't secure kills. Hag has way too long a set up time needed for her , and she needs to be in range for her teleport. So removing traps near hooks (I usually put 4 traps down to secure choke points near the hook and ensure I get told before they unhook the survivor. There is ways around this as a survivor (BT to take an extra hit or DS to allow yourself to get off if the rescuer is a moron who doesn't crouch and therefore gets you farmed for example).

Also, just because it's the easy thing to do doesn't make it any less valid. Especially against good survivors who will crouch most of the time even if it wasted their time. If I can tell this is a group of good survivors, I trap the hook and stay near ish. But I also go about trapping loops around a 3 gen that I've hooked them by.

This isn't playing easy, it's the most efficient way that some people have to play.

The viewpoint of "securing" kills boils down to tunneling and camping. These playstyles aren't fun. I don't like being camped and tunneled, so I don't inflict it on others unless severely tilted or struggling. The Hag doesn't really need to camp/tunnel the hooks cause her traps can ensnare people on the move and cause mass injuries to multiple players while shutting down loops and ending chases remarkably fast.

One can play efficient and use Prayer Beads, IH Hatchets, Mint Rag Hag, and other OP stuff to get easy wins and be the most efficient. But there's a certain degree of responsibility to the players to not be jerks to each other with the goal of playing the most efficient way cause it boils down to the least fun playstyles in the game.

  • I played Hag back when she had teleport stuns. Nerfing her so that she can't trap near hooks would be good for the health of the game. Good Hags won't need to trap hooks in like 95% of matches. That's like playing Easy mode for her.

  • I still struggle to understand how any type of early game nerf to Survivors won't hurt balance overall. The argument is that killers like Trapper, Huntress, or Trickster could really benefit from a change like this to allow them time to build up some pressure. HOWEVER, killers like Nurse, Blight, and Spirit are already extremely strong and would benefit more from this than anyone else.

  • Just recently I had one follow me around till I bled out as the last Survivor. There was no point besides to be a jerk. I know Killer apologists will say he was offering hatch, but he shut it when I found it. Someone might say it was to counter DS, but I wasn't hooked anytime recent and the timer isn't the whole bleed out length. (I don't run it anyways)

  • Usually I bring nothing or a medkit. I don't want to aggro the killer on me from the lobby screen cause I dared to bring a light, box, or key.

  • Not sure how people aren't seeing his movement speed punishes his knife throws. If he didn't lose so much ground speed throwing his knives, he could actually hit his quota easier. Buffing his movement would actually promote the knives as well. I understand the concern of M1'ing becoming the normal, but survivors gaining so much foot coverage over him slowing down is what can lead to him chasing being so punishing.

I'm just going to keep copy pasting my current outlook on buffs he needs.

Main Event - Can be activated on demand whenever it is earned, instead of the current use or lose.

Speedster - Movement speed increased. He is ranged, but his damage isn't instant like Deathslinger or Huntress. And he has to keep up to the Survivor to continue the Laceration counter unlike Plague who can spray them once and leave. His power is no where near Hag and Nurse power. This would also help his map pressure.

Trick Blades - I do think ricochet as base could have potential. I'd say bouncing blades either do less damage (like 50% or 75%) or regular damage. The add on can be the 200% bouncing or just straight up make a new one.

Laceration Meter - Takes longer to decay and decays slower. This won't punish him as much for switching targets. Currently switching targets just took away all of your work if you didn't fill the meter to get the damage or down.

  • Oh! The Winston main saying Junkrat, Mercy, and other heroes were "no aim, no brain" heroes that basically rallied his followers to harass those players and any pros who picked up those heroes while playing Winston which was the least aim intensive Tank. Not sure I really want his input on the game's balance.

But alas, I hope he enjoys his time and has matured since then.

  • Meh. Same could be said about Killers. 3-4 escape and they refuse to say GG. But someone disconnects, another suicides, and then the other two get 1 Hooked? GG GUYS!

I'll say GG, nothing, or not wait around as a solo. It doesn't always match up to if I won or not. I'll often be that guy who goes to save someone at the end and switch places with them on the hook to die. I'll say GG typically even though I died (possible 1st hook even) as long as the Killer wasn't or isn't being toxic.

Then there are special times I wait the entire match to thank or get annoyed with the Killer in regards to killing or not killing a toxic or infuriating fellow Survivor. When Nancy doesn't want to heal you, screws the gen skill check, then rushes to heal you, then screws a heal skill check as the Killer's radius starts up, and then she walks into and hides into a locker on her no hook state life to leave you to die on your 3rd hook... oh I hate Nancys.

  • I'll vote for The Trickster simply since many don't find The Twins fun. I liked them, but I think the Trickster's more expressive animations and sounds make him more appealing.

  • Please leave Jake alone. He had two good perks and one awful one. Then he ended up with one good perk and two awful ones. He doesn't deserve to be pushed further into the darkness by making all his perks awful as he's already the only original cast member without a tome lore drop.

  • I generally dislike the Spirit, but I won't rage at someone for playing her.

Also this entire thread could be made about Claudette as well. I typically play who I P3 and found myself bullied, insulted, and cursed at when I did her. I bought cute cosmetics on her and wasn't even a Blendette, but I literally got beat on hooks and insulted in post game chat for my character choice more often than I thought I would. :o

  • I was super stoked for them and declared them my main for awhile. I still love them to a degree, but I do think the people who play them more scummy have tarnished their reputation like another old main (Hag) of mine. On the PTB and live, I'd often get positive responses from the people who played against me. But there were times when people KOBE'd on first hook or disconnected the second they thought I was the more scummy type of Twins player. So that combined with me feeling like I was too easily crushing many Survivors had me step back from them. I started trying out the cast again.

Though now I'm all in on Trickster. Hopefully he gets buffed to be stronger and more of a threat while also not becoming something everyone seems to hate cause of scummy play like Twins, Hag, Bubba, etc.

  • Cause he is actually incredibly popular and beloved by the fan base already. Those upset with him are ant sized to his fashionable boot. PBE is still bustling with players when it died down after a day or two for other killers for the most part. Fanart galore. Fanfics galore. People enjoy him. He surely is doing better than the last releases in terms of reception. Most admit he is underperforming in terms of power level, but almost everyone seems to enjoy his playstyle on both sides.

    Trickster is a King.

  • Killers

Oni - One of the best made killers, imho

Huntress - Heavy hit ranged killer

Trickster - Light hit ranged killer, one of their best in terms of personality and animations

    Wraith - Stealth killer

    Trapper - Trap killer

    Hag - Trap killer

    Twins - Unique power

Myers - Stealth killer, Too iconic to cut

Pyramid Head - I like the idea of the cages and such

    Demogorgon - Monstrous, teleports

The removal of the the super mobility killers would be essential to the health of the game from my view point. Any core buffs to low map presence killers like Huntress, Trickster, or Trapper is hindered by the abuse killers like Spirit, Blight, and Nurse can achieve due to already having map coverage in spades. Oni's has to be built up and earned, so he is around for that playstyle while keeping it under control. Removing them would allow overall buffs to Killers (or nerf to Survivors) in regards to game length.

    Survivors

Dwight, Jake, Felix, Adam, and David

Elodie, Feng, Kate, Jane, and Claudette

  • Trickster easily. Ghostface isn't really that impressive in terms of skill based fighting.

  • From what I've gathered on sites, it's a small minority that actually dislikes him. I've seen stuff with him on it getting thousands on likes whether just pictures, art, or videos of him. Meanwhile something bashing him gets a couple hundred likes at most.

    Trickster is awesome.

I'm not cherry picking? I don't like any of the out of place outfits. People don't like how he looks and you're mad about it.

The comment under your quote was to you. AKA there is already neon stuff in the game and it's VERY popular. His cosmetics will likely include some duller options anyways for those who want to be duller looking.

  • One thing I find funny is when people complain about having another ranged killer cause we have "so many." The other option is melee... which we have more of... and even the ranged killers can melee.

Plague, Huntress, Deathslinger, and Trickster all feel different from each other and don't overlap too much in theme or the like. Trickster needs some help in the form of buffs, but I get burnt out on the weaker Plague or easier Huntress type talk... cause they play pretty different.

No, what I am doing is saying that someone saying that Myers isn`t scary is stupid. There is a reason why the Halloween movies have raked in 100`s of millions of dollars in the box offices. He is an iconic character that is known around the world that people go as far as to dress up as. You want to defend Mr. Kpop, thats fine but you shouldn`t crap on and probably leave worldwide established characters out if you want people to take you seriously.

If Myers was released now, he'd be mocked as some dude wearing a cheap, silly mask. You're confusing his legacy with his appearance.

  • @Celebrimbor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1992393#Comment_1992393

That was just an idea why people dont find him scary. But if I had to say something personal about it I find his look stupid just as other dumb looking outfits like the clown's elephant and the legion's bunny and etc. The "scary" term itself is subjective. People may find different things scary so I really dont understand what's all this about.

But puny teenager with a mask is scary to you?

    Fat guy with make up?

    Female Shrek with boob gremlins?

Old lady who fell into some mud?

Man with mask? (how many are there?)

    Lady with mask?

Dude actually runs up to you swinging his baseball bat and mocking you as he throws knives into you like a machine gun. He isn't like the goofy Trapper or Cannibal slowly walking with a stick up their rear end at super sonic speed. He's actually better made and more intimidating in animations.

1 … 6 7 8 9 10 … 19
