Fitting, that you would respond to the tongue and cheek post I made, as opposed to my first one, which directly called this out for being a rehashed suggestion. I'm not explaining it to you again just because it's your thread.

I didn't see the first one you wrote. But it reads about the same. That this whole idea is just to assassinate the top tier killers. Which is ridiculous. Just because it's "rehashed" doesn't mean it doesn't have any legitimacy. As for what I've said, your first post doesn't argue against any of that. So as for not wanting to explain to me again, you don't have to because you never explained anything. It only writes it off as a way to kill nurse. I don't want her to be unplayable, but as she is there is a problem.

The killers who got nerfed aren't even bad. People just write them off as bad because they aren't as easy as they used to be. The only killer who has really been killed by nerfs was Freddy, but even then it wasn't because the nerfs themselves. His power is just really bad and people mainly used him to stack slowdowns to the point where it was basically impossible to escape.

I am certain that Nurse can be changed while still remaining strong. My suggestion isn't perfect I know that. But it was more of an idea to see how she could better fit the game without being busted.

It's not tilting, it's just...annoying. It's like playing out a hard fought match of Rugby, losing and then, when it's time to shake hands at the end of the game, your opponent spits in your face and calls you a loser.

It's...odd how this is acceptable in the video game world, and nowhere else.

Sore winners is what they're called. It's a video game and after the match is over you really can't do anything anyways. Just be nice and move on. It's very simple. They want to gloat their victory and when you say something negative or bm back they feel better about the win. You can still leave with your pride intact. While also squandering their victory by not giving them what they want.

You really can't take bm serious in this game. If a killer is playing like a douche, just suicide and move on. If you have survivors that you can't kill who agitate you, open the gate and stare at a corner. You are the only one who gives it power. You can even DC if you feel like you're getting super frustrated. There's no shame in it. But sticking around to stir the negativity doesn't help you. And after all, it is just a game. Probably one of the few places in life where you can choose to remove yourself from the negativity and do something else for a while.

I'm here for this message! Be courteous to your opponents - but also be careful not to mistake players trying their best to be the same as being rude to you! Ultimately, they're just playing a game. BM is another matter, but still - if you're truly playing to have fun, don't make it conditional on your opponents conforming to your expectations.

This is very true. I think many players, especially newer ones, take a good opponent as an insult. One's who help their teammates by body blocks while the teammate is on death hook or something like that. Lots of people get mad about that, but it's really a good idea if they aren't about to die. It's important to recognize when you're being outplayed instead of jumping to the conclusion they're trying to be toxic.

Why shouldn't people play however they want?

Well the issue is more that everyone coming back to sweat for bp makes the games stressful when we should be celebrating and having fun. Nobody can really stop you from playing how you want. I just think it'd be better for all of us to not get so worked up and serious about this event. Like I stated, many survivors are grateful when you play with them in a fun way. If you don't want to do this then don't, it's simple. Just a recommendation if you want to brighten someone's day today.

Of all the useful skills that can be acquired in this game, the ability to identify with a team of bullies is not one of them.

If you want to mald for the rest of ur time playing this then go ahead. I can't stop you.

I wish people were just playing. I know, tbagging is also a way to provoke for your opponent to be angry and doing mistake. But it's not like at the end of the match, there is a real price to get...

People need to chill. I don't mind them doing their best, I'm as well trying my best, but can't we respect the other players in the same time? T_T

Like I said these people just want to provoke you. It may be tilting but learning to laugh with them is probably one of the best skills a killer can learn in this game. They don't really care too much and probably aren't thinking super deep about it all. It's just a goof for them. So recognizing it as that goes a long way for your enjoyment of this game.

Doctor is way harder then ppl think, you just struggle like 90% of the other ppl who cannot play him properly. Only cuz you cant really figure out how to use his power doesnt mean he is bad.

The only reason why doctor sucks is guess what ... Dead hard.

Dead hard basicly doubles his chase time cuz there is NOTHING he can do against it, survivors just wait for your shock, dead hard whenever they want and vault over or drop the pallet.

I always wondered why the shock can be dodged, its not an damaging effect that inflicts a healthstate damage.... doesnt make sense to me imo.

But besides the whole dead hard issue, you need to take more time to REALLY learn how to play Doctor before you make any claims. I used to main doctor and the only reason I dont main him anymore is cuz of Dead hard so ye. I can ensure you that you can use the shock on any loop and can make it before they can reach the pallet or window. You can even catch survivors on dropped jungle gym pallets, thats a mistake MANY ppl do so lemme give you a little tip here.

DONT BREAK EVERY PALLET INSTANTLY. Doctor rarely breaks pallets and even wants them to stay dropped.

I did judge too soon that's true. But DH doesn't really seem to help survivors too much when you already have them trapped. they can DH a shock but that's about it. I've gotten better with the timing and although I still don't think he's super good he isn't helpless like I originally thought.

  • thank you all for the advice. i think ill give him a few more chances before i write him off as hopeless.

Read as: This guy wants a killer that's thematically not Nurse.

OP wants a Nurse that never gets picked.

All we need now for 'Nurse Hatred Bingo' is the survivor main that drops in to tell us that she's a training wheels killer that only takes a few hours to get good at - while simultaneously betraying the fact that they've never played Nurse or even tried to practice against one.

Never said any of that. I don't doubt her pick rate would drop. But as we've seen many of the top tier killers get dropped whenever they aren't busted anymore. Spirit is still very strong. But because she has feasible counter-play now, nobody wants to play her. Same with Deathslinger. He's a killer I'm very experience with and has insane potential. But he stopped being an "I win" killer so now everyone just deemed him weak and unusable. When that's very much the opposite.

Her kit will still be very strong, but just not at the level it is now. Just because she's hard or unique doesn't justify anything. She still breaks the game. She still isn't balanced. Painting any criticism against a killer as just "survivor mains are crying" doesn't do anything constructive. It doesn't challenge what's been said in a meaningful way. All it does is show you're viewing this from a "my side" perspective rather than characterizing what is being discussed.

  • @Little_Kitten said:

All the people who criticize the nurse have absolutely no legitimacy to do so until they:

    1) perfected their methods of playing against her

    2) play her in order to understand her mechanics, and how to get around them

Until then, all their words are nothing more or less than endless and redundant whining.

    Next topic.

This is more often used to shut down arguments rather than provide anything useful. I'm not a pro nurse by any means, but as someone who's played the game for 4 years now I'm pretty sure I have good knowledge on how the game functions. Are all my thousands of hours in this game just nullified by the fact 2000 of them aren't put into nurse?

Killers who break chase mechanics are a problem, and always will be. Much of the chase is about distance and pathing. Which is also affected by how loops are designed, how close they are to each other, and the strength of connected tiles. Nurse avoids all of this. The only real thing you can do against nurse is break line of sight and try not to be predictable, which only lasts for so long as she can blink right to you.

You don't loop against nurse. You go through her blink cycles. You hope she makes the wrong prediction and extend the chase by about 10 more seconds. She gets closer with every cycle and eventually you run out of places to go. With nurses who aren't so good this is easy enough. But competent ones will take you down pretty fast. So fast you have to be extremely efficient and calculated to beat her. Which most survivors aren't going to do. Because the majority don't que up for that. They que up to just play the game casually.

She can be beat. But not by the majority of players. Without DH or comms she has an extreme advantage constantly. She's probably the only killer survivors are justified bringing meta builds against.

So yes, nurse needs a change.

  • Most people dont want to sit on the ground for 4 minutes. Its why you see people use things like unbreakable+soulgard. It's boring and you basically cant do anything but move around at a snail pace. It's not a hard thing to grasp. Imagine if survivors could make you stand in place for 4 whole minutes. You wouldn't like it.

Just have a little consideration for others. Is getting the 4k so important you have to keep someone in the game for longer than they should be? Plus where's the fun in it without the risk of hatch? There's no tension for it.

They did not remove hug tech, hug tech is still in game.

then what was the one that they removed?

  • Normally if I dc its when I'm playing survivor. And that exact scenario is usually me being tunneled out in a dead zone, left for a minute to wait out the DS I don't have, then repeat until I'm dead. That's only if the killer respects DS anyways. Which yet again, I don't have so I can bring "fun" builds that get me killed for not having meta perks. It happens a lot more than I would expect it to.

Sometimes the match is frustrating and you just want out asap. Whether you're losing gens fast to a clicky squad, or in the above scenario I mentioned. The DC is just a way to remove yourself from the situation.

I feel like you should get 3 free DC's that recharge over a 24 hour period. If you're having 3 bad matches, you might as well quit and play something else. Or if you're experiencing a game breaking bug. Currently there's one that can completely deactivate your power for the rest of the match that I've experienced a fair amount.

I don't play Blight at all, so I need the opinion of Blight mains/who plays Blight.

The only thing that changed was hug tech. Which was essentially an exploit that allowed you to not bump onto objects you were touching and get hits you normally wouldn't be able to.

It's more so that if the Bubba does decide to camp you for whatever reason

There's nothing you or your team can do about it aside from gens. His power makes unhooking physically impossible if they just refuse to move. You can't even exchange with BT bc it doesn't do anything since his speed beats the damage speed boost

Yes, but my main focus is on not gutting his entire power just for him not to camp. I'm not advocating for it in any way, to be clear. I'd much rather it be gone, but normally these types of fixes are done quickly and leave the killer in a garbage state for a while. I don't really think there's a way to fix his camping ability without an entire change to his power.

  • Short answer is no. But I don't think there's a way to nerf bubba camping without hurting his actual gameplay. Plus how often do you actually get face camped by a bubba like this?

  • @DaddyMyers_Mori said:

Deathslinger has screwed leg and you want him to slide? That doesn't fit his theme at all...

Yes, we know you like attack on titan, but he is just not good for it.

I want laser sight tho... that would work for sure :D

okay but what about the wall running horse?

  • Oni is all about snowball pressure. So giving him a freebie would basically make him way stronger than he already is. Which is pretty damn strong. Whenever you get the first hit you start to build up to your power pretty quick anyways. Oni is pretty much as good as hes going to get for balance in his current state.

  • Auto-haven is probably the best realm to play for either side. It's the most fair imo. Usually if I want a casual match I'll burn an offering for it.

Aesthetically I love the new Haddonfield. It just sucks to play on.

  • Spirit is still extremely strong. Good map traversal and chase. She can easily pressure the match. The main thing is that you have to actually try when playing her now, unlike before. Before survivors had no real way to tell you were phasing and basically wandered around blind, hoping you don't hit them.

Now they have a directional sound-que where you're at when close by in phase form. It's obvious when you're phasing so you can't fake it. She is very difficult because you are completely reliant on sound and environment changes. But the pay off is great. She is a beast of a killer. Starting out it's going to suck but when you do learn how to play her effectively you will basically be unstoppable.

I am by no means a Spirit main who knows her in and out. But some general advice I would give that's helpful for basically all killers is this:

*Predict survivor movements. This will let you catch them off guard, rob them of distance or stop them from getting to a pallet/window in time.

*Listen for all subtle sounds. Look for shadows. You can hear survivors pass through grass or their footsteps. Survivors will also make a little grunt noise when slow vaulting. Lockers can be heard squeaking open/closed.

*Proper pathing. This is good for both sides. The basics would be not taking wide corners or following directly behind a survivor. But it can get a little more in depth on which way to run loops as killer. Normally you want to force survivors into a position where they slow vault. A good example of this is the cow tree loop on coldwind. If you run it clockwise it's very difficult. But if you run it counter-clockwise it's not hard to deal with. Many loops in the game are like this. I'm sure youtube guides exist for it. And I'm also certain you will come to understand it more as you play.

Those 3 are just core, general advice to help with killer gameplay. They apply almost universally so use them to your advantage.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

No because this game doesn't have a map rotation at all. It's not splatoon

there is usually a clear spawn bias daily, so while maybe not entirely a rotation there is priority.

  • I'd say Billy has the highest skill cap in the game. Learning him takes dedication. I know this because I've tried it, and while it's fun it takes so much game knowledge. Learning to position yourself right, judging the distance between yourself and a survivor, the curve window, how to curve around loops, I could go on. Perkless would probably be best to improve with no help, but I can't imagine doing all of that with no helping perks.

Definitely agree though. He's still super good he just demands a bunch of time to be good. Which I think is a positive thing. Just not for me and other people.

  • Pre-rework DS, Vacuums, Exhaustion recharging while running, Infinite loops, Horrible killer balance, A plethora of abusable bugs, Perma Sabo...

I could go on. The only really terrible thing we have rn is a couple of maps being stupid (Badham/The Game) and COH. Both of which are countered by having a power that shreds pallets, insta downs, mobility, stealth and game knowledge with inventive plays. The majority of the cast has at least one of these. The only thing I'd say is uncounterable or really busted is DH. Which still isn't completely true as you can try to catch someone off guard where their DH doesn't matter. Or use your insta-down power to deny them DH for their first life. OR zone them into a bad position.

DbD is no where near it's worse state. Those 3 core issues are about it atm. You're never helpless as killer and usually have a chance to make a come back unless the survivors play well. If they do that they should escape. Killer has probably been it's most playable than it has been ever. It's not perfect, but far better.

  • @Brimp said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2950609#Comment_2950609

Normally isnt. People want bloodlust removed because "its rewarding the killer for losing the chase" when in reality blood lusting will probably lose you the game.

It's also not that hard to force a pallet break unless they're already bloodlust 3 in a dead zone. Or they have a chase power.

  • I feel that if DH gets nerfed, so will many top tier killers. DH is brought not only because of its versatility, but because it's a good to counter zoning. I.e a Huntress is about to line up a really tight shot around a corner. Instead of getting downed by a garbage truck hit box after turning a corner, you can dodge it and have a better chase. It's not entirely fair, but it also acts as a band-aid for bad hitboxes/latency. As well as killers like Nurse or Blight. Both of which can zone you out with their mobility and chase ability.

DH is not fair at all and that's not what I'm trying to say. The point I'm making is, if people are going to choose between your fairness and theirs, they are going to choose theirs. DH is painful against lower tier killers because their power isn't good enough to compete with it. But for all the ones who can not having DH makes them even stronger than before.

And this isn't because "all survivors are just trash and can't play without DH". It's due to killers being able to ignore certain chase mechanics and force people into disadvantageous situations simply because they pressed a button. DH's nerf is going to bring a lot of other balance changes as well. But it will be for the better. I just doubt most people will like it.

I ended up in an OchiDO compilation once. I was playing Billy on Hawkins. One of the survivors was recording and he dropped from the upstairs hole directly into my chainsaw. That's all I can remember about that match because it scared the crap out of me.

I've also played against Hexy twice and Cope around five times, though I'm not sure if either of them were live or if they posted those matches on YouTube. Most of my games with Cope had him as Ghostface and we had some tense chases from what I remember. One of the times with Hexy though I was being a rat for a hatch challenge against his Nurse. Felt embarrassed about my gameplay when I realized who I was playing against.

no need to be embarrassed. survival by any means is the way this game works.

You can only see her intermittently while within 10 meters + 2 for each stack of condemn you have. As well as you can only hear her Lullaby while carrying a tape.

Those are the buffs I would do. They make it so the closer you are to death the more she reveals herself to you. Flavortown.

I don't think the tape lullaby is true. I never use tapes against her and can always listen out for that screeching sound when she's in stealth.

  • I'd say Pyramid Head and Artist are tied. Both can zone through walls, shut down certain loops and leave you in lose/lose scenarios. I only put PH higher because you can ready your power at a pallet for a hit, while Artist can't really do that fast enough for it to matter. The only thing I'd say Artist does better is her projectiles are a lot faster when they're shot, but they need a bit of time to set up. Also infinite range.

  • its definitely something worth celebrating, so i'm glad to see it's getting a lot of traction.

  • IF U DONT LIKE DAVID BEING GAY THEN KEEP SEETHING :>

  • Unless facecamping itself is addressed this will always be an issue. If we nerf bubba's facecamp people will probably use trickster or something to do it. Any killer that can chew through health states. I do hope they do something about it soon though, because many people will play him to harass streamers and facecamp them.

  • ive had 3 man swfs get mad at me for throwing trying to make flashbang plays but it's actually pretty uncommon for me to get a lot of hate for my build while playing killer. usually its other survivor teammates or killers being salty that they lost.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

IMO the crying about breakable Walls is way too much. They are not that much of a problem, some Walls suck (e.g. that Dead Dawg is full of them, there should not be a Breakable Wall at shack and they should all be removed from The Game).

But some are pretty good. e.g. the one on Ironworks of Misery, this gives the Main Building a purpose. After they removed the God Window (rightfully), the Main Building hat nothing, it was a Deathtrap. With the breakable Wall upstairs, there is at least something to work with, but it cannot be used more than once, since it becomes weak when the Wall is broken.

They will certainly not go away at any point. I am not the biggest fan of them and some of them really suck, but it is not like a Killer player will lose a game because they need to break a Wall.

They won't lose you the game, but they do have a legitimate impact on overall map design. It's like a non-commitment design choice. Instead of creating the map to have fluid gameplay and well thought out loop designs, there's just a wall that turns an area from good to bad. I agree with what you've said about the Ironworks top floor window, but that wouldn't even be an issue if the design was better. Dbd's core gameplay issues are directly related with map design. The walls only add to this. It slows down gameplay and removes any meaningful design decisions. There's nothing interactive or fun about getting locked into a 3 second animation to be able to play around a loop. And it solves none of the problems of the maps gameplay for more than a couple seconds.

You're only circumventing a game mechanic, which you're not entitled to do consistently

    Who says? Survivors?

The mechanic doesn't prevent you from playing the game, it only means your fourth kill isn't guaranteed.

Yes; it's Survivors demanding a new way to steal the 4K away from the Killer because THEY feel it's toxic, or unfair, or boring. Because THEY want to spite the Killer who they feel is spiting them. Because THEY have decided 'Slugging for a 4K is toxic, thus, it should be changed'.

It's Survivors saying 'I think the Killer should be happy with a 3K. Allow me to enforce it no matter what he does'.

The dude on the ground can't do jack. It's about consideration for the other person. Survivors helping their team survive isn't a personal spite against you

And Killers slugging for the 4K is not a personal spite against you.

They aren't griefing your experience by not letting you get the 4k.

And the Killer is not greifing yours by wanting a 4K.

copium is strong with this one

  • @AngyKiller said:

Why shoudl the Killer be denied his 4K because Survivors can't wait 4 minutes, or assume their time needs priority over the Killer's?

I also don't understand how Survivors think they need a dedicated 'screw the Killer' button by forcing an early death to help their friend. Because Killing is the point of the, y'know, Killer role?

I will say it again; If Survivors could not completely shaft a Killer going for a 4K or Adept by giving up on the hook; the Killer would not slug (Barring toxic trolls). Why should the Devs give Survivors the EXACT mechanic Killers are trying to avoid, just because they're selfish and demand a way to bone Killers out of Adepts?

There is a huge difference here. The killer is playing the game in those 4 minutes, the survivor is not able to play the game for that whole time and will 100% die. It's not about "screwing over the killer". You're only circumventing a game mechanic, which you're not entitled to do consistently. And while you could say the same for the slug bleed-out, again the difference I stated comes in. The mechanic doesn't prevent you from playing the game, it only means your fourth kill isn't guaranteed. The dude on the ground can't do jack. It's about consideration for the other person. Survivors helping their team survive isn't a personal spite against you. They aren't griefing your experience by not letting you get the 4k.

There's nothing that can make you choose either rather than yourself. Be nice or be a cock, whatever you want. Just remember the next time you have a bad match, what goes around comes back around.

I have to disagree. It's already BS when a Survivor off themselves on the hook to give their friend the hatch. Why should they be able to do the same thing on the ground?

Hell, it's BECAUSE Survivors can hook-kill themselves that Killers slug to get the 4K!

Now, if EVERY Survivor is dying, dead, being carried, or Hooked; THEN they should be able to bleed out faster. To avoid spiteful 4k slugs.

Why should somebody have to do nothing for 4 whole minutes in a video game just because the other guy wants an invisible trophy? Usually you're faster than survivors anyways and can down them before hatch. It's really not much of a problem, and even if they escape so what? They give a few bags, leave and the match is over at the worst. The 4k means nothing and slugging someone for it just screws them over irl because they either DC and get a penalty or do absolutely nothing for next 5 minutes anyways.

I also don't understand how it's BS to try and give the last guy alive the best chance of surviving in the, y'know, survivor role?

  • Honestly there should just be a bleed-out option. Bleeding out for 4 minutes because the killer couldn't find one dude is annoying and a waste of time. I get that they want their kill but having me play floor simulator for that is dumb. It's the only thing that I would willingly dc against.

  • Yes, but why would they not choose the very easy to use and best survival perk in the game if they don't want to die?
