How are you comparing being able to see where pallets and windows are to a survivor gaining THE STRONGEST STATUS EFFECT IN THE GAME FOR FREE.

????? It's like 4 different survivor perks in one status effect.

Like genuinely, there is no way a functioning brain that isn't just trying to be disingenuous for the sake of arguing, reaches the conclusion that those two things are equal.

Especially bringing up dissolution. Mind you, dissolution has been considered awful since it's inception, I'm not letting survivor players let this garbage revisionist history fly.

Dissolution only saw an uptick in playtime because the devs decided to add more pallets to damn near every single map in the game. Every map is now filled to the brim with pallets, so yes killers will start using a pallet related perk, that does not mean dissolution is a problem.

    It is quite literally as simple as 1 + 1 = 2.

Y'all make it so hard to take convos seriously because y'all do not care about balance. I will gladly point out problematic aspects of killers but consistently in discussion, y'all refuse to admit something is a problem. Even some other actually sane survivor players repeating the same thing… it's busted. You should not be able to gain one of the strongest status effects in the game, by just looping the killer normally.

Like no… a killer going undetectable is not the same as a survivor having elusive, if you cannot understand that then again. You're being disingenuous or you're a baby to the game, freshly installed it yesterday. Which atp that's not your fault you don't get it yet, but you're wrong.

Read the responses @MDRSan has. I'm not going to retype what they so eloquently explained already.

    1. Plenty of tiles have walls or objects that obscure the survivor. You're just lying if you say otherwise.
    2. Stepping on footprints is not hard, you literally walk over the killers path ALL the time during a normal loop.

There is no outlandish activation requirement, it is quite literally "just loop the killer normally and become elusive" lol.

Do you also complain about windows for doing what it says? What about perks like dissolution: m1 like normal and shut down every unsafe pallet loop.

Reshades shouldn't be a thing imo.

As for undetectable, there is a difference. As a survivor it's much easier to track killer (especially if they are tall like jason) with your 3rd person camera. Undetectable doesn't give you free mindgames (especially if you are playing a tall character), otherwise GF wouldn't be so bad and everyone would run undetectable perks.

The add-on you are referring to gives Jason ONLY 9s of undetectable. If you geniuenly got cought off guard with this add-on, maybe you shouldn't speak on dbd's balance.

The necessity of slowdown in current survivor meta cannot be understated even with how 80% of the killer slowdown perks are shadows of their former self. As i understand diminishing returns does affect slowdown perks as well. If Bhvr wants killers to run more diverse builds, nerf slowdown perks in a way to discourage stacking them and buff both the weaker ones like surge, cob or grim embrace and chase perks stbfl, unbound etc

One health state can completely change the tide of the game to favor the killer. If someone can't track a red stain or use the chase music to determine distance, they have a higher chance of losing a mindgame. It's really that simple.

How have you managed to turn this into a reshade thing…

Scratch marks are a fundamental aspect of the game, they exist there whether you have reshade or not. You can see scratch marks just fine, whether you have reshade or not. Mind you it isn't just scratch marks that gets removed, it also entirely hides blood pools AND grunts of pain, AND blocks their aura from being read.

    So you're just yapping.

Do I need to explain to you the difference between killers being able to go undetectable and survivors going full stealth, or is it 2026 and these things in DBD are self explanatory at this point?

If you have any sizable amount of time on this game, you should know by now why one has a stronger impact than the other. If you don't then you are either just not knowledgeable enough in the game or you're being disingenuous.

At almost every tile you can see the survivor during chase. This perk doesn't turn them invisible. They have to step on your footprints to gain elusive.

  • @Rapid99 said:

Killer perk: Speak french backwards while running at exactly 8.5 mph, with your left big toe curled to hinder the survivor for 3 seconds.

Survivor perk: Literally just loop the killer like normal to become elusive with zero downside, zero real effort required.

Basically the strongest status effect in the game and they can just get it for free by… looping. You get essentially 4 other survivor perks in one status effect… by just looping.

Proof that most killers have gotten used to using reshade as a crutch and can't play without their neon red filter winning the game for them.

Remember Jason has an addon that removes his terror radius upon picking up a spear so you can win mind games for free. If you want to call out a survivor perk for being broken, do the same for Jason by running only a rare addon, while still running 4 slowdown.

everything is seen as it creates a jira on our system automatically, however priorities on bugs themselves are different and having duplicate reports etc will increase the priorities on a bug, which is part of why we always advise reporting, even if the bug is reported on there.

Do the community managers here still relay posts like this to the team or create a jira ticket on our behalf?

I can only speak for myself, but I really don't want to create yet another online account for a very small use case and increase my digital footprint when all the necessary info is already in a thread like this.

    >Most killers have boring, one dimensional gameplay and killer players have no incentive to get better at the game when perks and intentional hand holding design carries them.

and yet killers usually get nerfed from ptb to live then nerfed again due to survivor complaints even though all these killersshould have boring one dimensional gameplay that should be easily countered

Last time I checked, almost every killer within recent history has had a net buff from their ptb to release.

  • @terumisan said:

You can tone down the hostility. Would be great. I have seen the gameplay. It wasn't "Gamebreaking". That's what a PTB is for also to see what needs to be adjusted for the health of the game.

You're already wanting to nerf the guy and he isnt even out yet. lol.

I've seen the Otz gameplay… pretty obvious that the killer is overpowered. Please check out his video!

Well you're very survivor bias so it makes sense you would say this, which is fine. My point stands. We should wait till PTB rolls out so we can see his kit a lot better. If he is too strong, then bhvr should make adjustments and not wait like they did for Ghoul.

I'm a healthy game bias. Stop projecting with an us vs them. It's so tired.

I'd like to get him out in PTB to test properly before we start getting "Upset" about his power design that nobody but early access has tried yet. There could be some more in's and outs to his kit we don't know yet until we give it a try.

I'd like to not pretend that he doesn't have the most overloaded kit, and anyone with eyes doesn't need a ptb to realize how overpowered he is.

  • @MechWarrior3 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4081329#Comment_4081329

My friend from what I can see his primary power isn't in fact a Projectile. Its the ability to sneak up on survivors in a fog atomosphere while choose which side to ambush them on whether pallet or window thus blocking it for a little while. The projectile is a single spear. If you get a hit nice, if not its okay. He bascially has a stronger verison of spirits power or perhaps even old freddy the way he is able to appear on survivors.

Spirit is literally a top 5 killer. He has ranged AND a better spirit power? Everyone who cares about match integrity should be upset with this design.

Ok, using those stats from the end of March, he is being outpicked by the 2nd most popular Killer in the game in broad MMR, 4th most popular in high MMR. In the broad MMR range, he is the 3rd most popular Killer in the game like the Nightlight stats suggested, in high MMR he is the 5th.

In what world is the 3rd-5th most popular Killer in the game a failure everyone has forgotten about? This feels like a Square Enix shareholder report bruh

"Broad MMR" being another word for people that play for 20 hours and drop the game. Let's be actually real for a second. High MMR is the category of people that actually play the game and don't just play because their favorite comfort franchise is in dbd and drop it because there is an actual skill curve that's shaped like a perpendicular line.

  • @Lexilogo said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4081113#Comment_4081113

…Just checking Nightlight now, that "measly 5%" puts Springtrap as the 3rd most popular Killer in the game. Wesker and Ghoul are the only ones above him around 5.5%. This is consistent with previous lists where 5% is usually the average for superstar, highly popular Killers. Springtrap is undeniably keeping up with the dashslop.

The only way any Killer in this game can approach double digit popularity anymore is to be a new release. Expecting Springtrap to be pulling 8-9% usage a year after his release is just silly

According to actual official stats provides by bhvr, kaneki has an 8.1% pick rate at high mmr. Blight has 7.6%. Wesker has 5.4%. Even myers is higher with 4.7%. Springtrap is sitting at 4.1% at high mmr. Springtrap is only 5.6% across broad mmr. He's literally being outpicked by Myers. Myers.

Springtrap wasn't forgotten about in a month lmao, he's not a pubstomper but he's still a very, very popular pick. Also, it seems you clearly hate DBD, so why bother playing? Masochism? What is a "good" killer to you? Skerchant?

Holy assumptions batman. Kaneki, blight, and myers are more popular than Springtrap. Guess what they all have? Dashslop. For all the hype around a fnaf chapter, he is only sitting around 5%. That's miserable for one of, if not the most wanted license, maybe save Friday the 13th. He should be sitting at at least 8 or 9% for how much people were begging for him. Unfortunately no dashslop, so a measly 5% he remains. The same will happen to Jason, which was the point of my comment.

it seems you clearly hate DBD, so why bother playing?

Nuance is a spectacular thing once someone is able to identify it. I know you're trying your hardest to dunk on me, but you're going to have to try better than sarcastically suggesting Skull Merchant as a "good" killer in my book lol.

    For examples:

We already had hillbilly (guy with a chainsaw/run fast and one shots) when we got Leatherface (guy with a chainsaw) and oni (run fast and one shots), guess what? Everybody loves bubba and his power is unique enough

We already had michael myers (stalk insta kill) and pig (crouch and stealth) when we got ghost face (stalk insta kill/crouch and stealth) and guess what? Ghost face is different enough to be it's own thing, and it's one of the favorites

We already had Wraith (Turns invisible, can't m1 and run faster) when spirit (Turns invisible and run faster) and sadako (turns invisible, can't m1) people love both

We had huntress for deathslinger and trickster

    Pyramid head for Artist

Freddy Krueger, sadako Etc for dredge

    Nurse and demogorgon for wesker

    Nemesis for Xenomorph

Pig and ghost face for chucky

Nemesis, Spirit and Wesker for Dracula

Dracula wolf and slinger for houndmaster

    Blight and legion for kaneki

Huntress and sadako for spring trap

    Plague for krasue

All their powers are "similar" But BHVR made them all unique in their own way by giving them different gimmicks and gameplay loops, or making a different power style for each one (hillbilly and bubba for example), thinking Jason will just be "M1 killer like trapper or having some reused power" is ignoring the rest of the entire roster, and if so, what's the problem? None of the killers before besides dracula for some reason were a problem, but now Jason is somehow "too boring for the game"

I'm very positive and certainly gonna have fun with him, like i have with all the other killers :)

    Three words: dashslop anti loop.

Either he will have at least one of these or he will be forgotten in a month like Springtrap was. At that point we already have trapper and enough dashslop to solve world hunger 10 times over.

i only have 325 hours on Switch and i cant last long in chase, i always get scared and Vault into a hit, or have the worst pathing in history. its not even map based, i just cant run the killer! any looping tips would be helpful, sorry for the bother

Pretty much it just boils down to meaningful practice. What that means is this:

    1. Don't be afraid of chases. The fear is coming from not knowing what to do as well as your harsh inner critic for wanting to be better. Chases will take time to learn. There are many killers, tiles, perks that adjust chasing. Just getting exposure and learning something from each one goes a long way. Ask yourself things like "why did the killer force me in this direction?" or "why did I not have enough space when I thought I did?"
    2. Look up looping guides. Many can be outdated, but their core is still the same: loop things tightly, maintain a "kiting" distance, try to thread different tiles together if you can.
    3. Look up tile guides. Knowing what each tile looks like and what resources can spawn will help you immensely. While you are learning, it can help to use Kate's Windows of Opportunity or Kwon's Five Steps Ahead, as they show you pallet and window locations. The goal is to not feel like you need to use those perks to find resources or know how they are set up in a tile. Otz released a pretty good video a few years back about tiles, I'd recommend that one.
    4. Play killer. Knowing your opponent's limitations and strengths will help you greatly. Knowing what tiles/line of sight blockers/strategies that cause killers problems when you play them not only help your killer gameplay, but also survivor gameplay.
    5. Don't be too harsh on yourself. Looping as survivor is genuinely the hardest thing to do in this game. Not only do you have to memorize every map, but every tile, killer, killer perk, etc. and you need to use all of that to help yourself survive.
    6. Keep asking questions. Help is always given to those with the courage to ask. At the end of the day, we're all here to have fun and to try to reach whatever goals we set for ourselves.
  • @cogsturning said:

I don't why they even have the option to report things like rage quitting and afking if they won't take action against it even when someone submits a full report. Is it just there to make us feel better? Why did they implement go-next prevention if it's no big deal? Though I don't think people should be permabanned for throwing or anything so severe, a grade loss or matchmaking penalty is warranted if it's indisputable.

People don't realize that one report isn’t going to trigger the system to take action. Most likely there is a running tally of total reports, and if an account passes a certain threshold for a specific offense within a short amount of time, then the system flags the account.

So basically, one game of subjective bad behavior isn't going to get your account banned, but repeated offenses will.

Why hasn't Knight been added to 2v8 yet? He doesn't spawn anything on the map that could be buggy or interfere with other killers like Sadako or Pig. His power doesn't do anything weird like Freddy or Dredge. Why isn't he playable?

Probably because the only people that genuinely enjoy knight are the people that main him. To everyone else, he's cheap, annoying, skill-less, and honestly a waste of storage space on everyone's game install.

Also, the devs value a 2v8 playerbase over the 500 or so dark souls/for honor/HEMA fans who want to LARP in 2v8. People stopped playing 2v8 because of legion/oni so they killswitched legion. Knight would tank the player count because of his infamy.

  • I would like the game to remain Dead by Daylight and not Dead by Stranger Things.

This is the issue with licensed content: the people that play the game only because of their beloved franchises wish to pump as much of said franchise into the game as humanly possible. Resident Evil fans, Stranger Things fans, now we have Alien fans. No appreciation for the game or what the game's gameplay loop is trying to do.

And to the people that consider dbd the "Fortnite of horror," keep in mind that Fortnite got Jason before dbd did. Keep in mind Myers was not "permanently removed" from the Fortnite shop rotation. If dbd really was the "Fortnite of horror" to justify the constant collab and pollution of licensed content approach, studios would be flocking to dbd for a free cash grab, not going to the actual Fortnite game nor removing content to make their own asymmetrical game.

I would disagree. Oni was nerfed in the right way bringing him back in balance. He doesn’t have legion anymore to fuel him free endless blood anymore.

Nemesis himself though I agree with you.. Maybe 3 zombies instead of 4. Nemmy by himself is balanced.

However if we are going to be fair and address killers we need to address survivors too. If we want to be punctually fair.

The escape class is very strong as we all know, it could use some fine tuning.

The scout class while not as strong is still quite strong. Lots of aura revealing, stealth but mostly remaking god pallets when the maps are filled with tons of pallets as is.

Generators - only 8 need to be done at 70 charges. They either need to make them either 90 charges each OR keep it at 70 but you should have to do 10.

Technically it should be 10 gens.

However is BHVR likely to do any of this? Probably not. It’s suppose to be wild, and imbalanced. It’s suppose to be survivor sided to incentivize more survivors to queue.

We shall see what changes that make. Pretty disappointed with this last update of 2v8. They changed little to nothing for survivor or killer.

Oni is still not balanced. Removing every blood orb on the map when he enters power would make him balanced. Since there are two killers, it would not be hard to have excess blood around the map. Right now, the orbs are everywhere and once he gets started, it's impossible to shut him down. He doesn't need legion to make him S++++ tier when he's already S tier.

Not what im saying at all. Ive noticed it in my own games as well as the OP.

You loading into the game with the bias that a survivor is going to be subtle hacking will trick your brain into seeing something that isn't there. That coupled with youtubers providing you confirmation bias on completely irrelevant matches to your own is not scientific proof that a survivor has a 5% haste cheat in your games.

Also - are you really suggesting Nemesis or Oni are picked more than Wesker? I literally haven't seen a single 2v8 survivor match that didn't involve a Wesker since they un-killswitched him.

Nemesis zombies are slowdown that somehow is on every gen at all times.

slow killers like Pyramid Head are persona non grata in 2v8 because of Escapist. even Nemesis is awful, but people are putting up with him for the slowdown.

I think escapist is broken too, I never said don't nerf the class. But if your solution is to keep nemesis and oni broken, I'm not sure how escapist is even relevant. Nerf the broken things, that's all anyone is asking for.

So… we should ban Nemesis like we did with Legion? Because he is to strong with Nemesis?

We can go for Trapper Next, it is kinda unfair that he makes pallets useless

While we at it can we remove Wesker and Nurse too?

Why should killers be allowed to play in a team at all?

Thats not fair lets make it 1v8

    /sarcasm

Do you want my genuine opinion? Yes, either nerf one of the best combos in the mode or ban nemesis and oni in 2v8. Zombies make the mode unfun. Oni makes the mode unfun.

Trying to slippery slope fallacy your way into keeping those killers in the mode is very disingenuous. There is a reason Nemesis and oni are picked far more than any other killers in 2v8. That reason is just something you don't want to accept.

  • @Brightened said:

First they increased it to 4 zombies from 2…

and then they make no adjustments at all to them.

-Zombies give away locations of survivors.

-They ALWAYS know where someone is.

-They harass gens better than the killers do.

-There are only so many limited vaccines even though they can interrupt during chases.

So explain to me how a 6v8 killer x survivor is fair? It's not? Got it.

And yes, I know scouts can kill them with pallets and reset them.. but that alerts killers to where you are now doesn't it?

Unfortunately as expected, your post will be downvoted into oblivion despite Nemesis and Oni being one of the most prevalent combos this 2v8.

But yes, Nemesis is not fair. Neither is Oni. Downvotes with no discussion just proves that killers don't want to work for a win.

Not quite correct, because speeding is against the law. BHVR specifically calls out tunneling as something that is not against the rules. So this would be like getting mad at someone for driving 60 mph on the freeway when the speed limit is 60mph because you want to go 50 mph.

No sorry, the analogy is there are acceptable times where your car can go 50, some times when it can go 70. Just because YOU want to drive 120 when the circumstance literally makes YOU the person who is in the wrong is the angle I was going for.

  • @Reinami said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4076514#Comment_4076514

Precisely my point. "Gen rushing" is not seen negatively because it doesn't exist and its just doing your objective and killer's should just "apply pressure". But tunneling is bad and toxic and isn't about "doing your objective" as a killer. When tunneling is literally the killer doing just that and "applying pressure"

The reality is the same. You are playing in a way to optimize and efficiently do your objective as fast as possible, as a player, there is nothing wrong with doing that. But i do like pointing out the hypocrisy of people who say one is bad and the person doing it is toxic but the other isn't for some reason and survivors for some reason can't just "apply pressure" to deal with tunneling.

And as always, i need to point out my disclaimer because everyone always assumes things about me. I think tunneling is bad for the game and needs to be completely removed from the game through fundamental game design changes. But you should be blaming the devs for allowing it to exist, not the players for doing it.

"Officer don't blame me for going 120 mph in a 25, blame the car manufacturer for allowing my car to go to 120 mph."

"Tunneling gens." Killer propaganda is actually something else. If you think survivor is that much easier, I implore you to give solo q a go for a month straight.

I have yet to see this. I have played him a lot and gone against him a lot. I haven't seen anything more than the usual amount of zombies. (4)

If this bug is true, then he will need to be killswitched, however they are gonna want to see video evidence.

I can grab a screenshot with at least 6.

I've seen Nemis punching Zombies maybe killing them makes them spawn more then 1?

You might be right, I just played another match where there were more zombies than usual and the nemesis was just walking around punching zombies, even ignoring survivors to do so.

Yeah, it says it right there, its about how you treat people and ADHERING TO THE WRITTEN RULES. I know you are going to argue "spirit" but again, i already said you can't do that when these set of "rules" that go against the "spirit of the game" aren't even able to be defined because they are subjective to everyone. People can't even agree on what tunnel and slugging are, and you somehow want to, before a game starts, with anonymous players that you can't even speak to before the game starts, somehow come up with a set of rules that you all are going to follow that will keep the game "fair" for everyone? That is never going to happen.

explain to me how we are going to, without being able to even communicate with each other, decide that "ok no tunneling this game, also tunneling means this very specific thing" and have that discussion when nobody can consistently define it?

And again, it brings be back to my other point of it being allowed. Are we going to be mad at the other team in baseball because they "stole a base" even though its technically allowed? But its unfair and "cheap" right?

And of course, why for some reason is the onus always on the killer player to be this paragon of "fun" and "fair play". Why do survivors get to bring 4 dead hards and use basekit BT to body block while forcing a DS? Why do they get to bring 4 fast tracks and commodius with BNPs? Why is it ALWAYS on the killer player?

Lastly, i'm not trusting an AI as any kind of source of information.

The reason you would consider the "onus" on the killer is because the killer has the power in 99 out of 100 matches (the last 1 out of 100 being a 4 man comp swf). The killer is the power role and thus they are the ones with the ability to flex said power in unsportsmanlike ways. I can't tell you how many times people have been bled out for 4 minutes because the killer "felt like it." Would you consider that good sportsmanship?

Also I don't think anyone has a problem with killers tunneling or slugging if that is the correct play to do so, but like Rulebreaker said, there is a fine line between doing it as an optimal strategy and doing it out of disrespect.

Are we going to be mad at the other team in baseball because they "stole a base" even though its technically allowed? But its unfair and "cheap" right?

Nobody is getting genuinely mad that the rules of baseball allow people to steal bases, nor is anyone calling that "cheap."

Lastly, i'm not trusting an AI as any kind of source of information.

Do you accept the Merriam-Webster Dictionary definition? Here it is: conduct (such as fairness, respect for one's opponent, and graciousness in winning or losing) becoming to one participating in a sport.

Expecting empathy from ANONYMOUS people who you will probably never meet again is never going to end well.

The change anyone wishes to see in the world starts with themselves.

But you see the problem you have created. You can't create a set of made up fictitious rules that the game knows nothing about, and then expect another anonymous player to abide by those rules, especially when those rules are by definition subjective and different for each player.

Content creators, even ones i don't like (i won't name them) have tested this with polls and shown that people can't even agree on what the definition of tunneling even is.

In terms of "most players not playing to win" that again is a failure of the devs for not creating either a proper matchmaking system that can actually match players correctly, or by creating a ranked mode where the people who care about winning can play.

The issue is not "fictitious rules" it's about sportsmanship. Genuine human empathy.

Content creators, even ones i don't like (i won't name them) have tested this with polls and shown that people can't even agree on what the definition of tunneling even is.

Sure there's contextual tunneling by circumstance, and these definitions are not all encompassing (the issue with these polls), but ultimately they don't matter when people only mean the most obvious form of tunneling everyone can agree on: the killer immediately drops what they're doing in an attempt to rehook the most recently unhooked survivor.

In terms of "most players not playing to win" that again is a failure of the devs for not creating either a proper matchmaking system that can actually match players correctly, or by creating a ranked mode where the people who care about winning can play.

The devs can only do so much. People will always sweat in unranked modes and people will sometimes slack off in ranked modes.

Players do make choices, but why is it a player's responsibility to play in a certain way that you like? This is like complaining about people "camping" in call of duty. Or if i'm playing chess should i not take your queen if you leave it open because its "unfair" or "unfun" to lose your queen?

The point is, looking at tunneling as a strategy, one of 2 things is possibly true. Either:

    1. The strategy is hard for you to counter and you have a tough time against it. If that is the case, then as your opponent, would it not make sense for me to exploit a weakness in your game? If i'm playing against another team in football, and my team recognizes that your team does poorly if we just run the ball, does that make us "cheap" or "unfun" or "unfair" if we run the ball every play? At that point, the onus is on YOU to get better and learn the counter. If you can't do that, then you will continue to be a victim to it forever.
    2. The strategy is extremely powerful and very difficult, or perhaps even impossible to counter. If this is the case, then why would someone not use that strategy to win? If the strategy is so good, that it results in me winning all the time, and i'm trying to win, then i would be foolish not to use that strategy. If that is the case, then, and by the way i would agree with this, the strategy is too powerful, and needs to be changed to either be weaker, or not possible by the developers. But, until that is the case, and as long as it is still within the rules of the game to do, then the only person you should be blaming is the developers.

Blaming players for playing the game is never a good strategy.

For every other game you listed here, both sides are on paper even in power level. Football: 11 players on the field for both sides, both take turns with the ball. Chess: both sides have identical pieces. Call of duty: all items can be used by all players.

For DbD, this is not the case on purpose. This invalidates all your examples. Also, the amount of resources survivors have for self reliant anti-slug is miniscule: Conviction: requires a completed heal on another survivor, you will go down again anyway. Soul guard: requires a revealed hex, so you would have to play at a disadvantage for whatever the hex does. No mither: you are broken for the entirety of the trial. Boon: exponential: requires totem RNG, only within a certain radius, killer can take 1 second to snuff totem. Unbreakable: you can only use it once, then it's gone. The only one of those with zero strings attached is unbreakable aka the only reliable anti-slug comes down to one perk. Yes this is totally the equivalent of someone leaving their queen unguarded, yes indeed (sarcasm).

I think you're right about not blaming players for using strategies to win, but when it goes so far that a majority of these players aren't even doing it to win, they're doing it to make the other team miserable, at what point do we have an ethics, integrity, and sportsmanship problem?

What I described isnt even that complex though???? When writing down your own line of though it looks like a lot more than what it actually is since youre subconsciously doing it.

Survivors all spawn together, meaning if the totem was cleansed right from the get go the Spirit not only knows where at least one person is, but they also now have a general idea where everybody is. After the hook they spot the 2nd player but in that time they could of went by a gen or 2 and heard that none of them have been worked on, but maybe in the distance they see a crow fly off in the distance. They finish up with jimbo 3 and now that leaves you. By process of elimination they see you didnt go for any saves meaning the chances of you being around that area are low, the gens they passed by earlier havent been worked on meaning you arent there either, they dont see any scratchmarks, crows being disturbed or any gens that have popped during the entire time theyve been dealing with the rest of the team. So they go back to the only place they know you were last, which is back where everyone spawned. They dont see any scratchmarks, crows being disturbed, maybe a gen is there as well that hasnt been touched, and none of the other teammates have been saved. So they just so happen to check a locker and would you look at that, jimbo 4 just so happens to be there.

Literally no killer is thinking past line 3 in that process the way you are describing it in an actual game.

Not every game do the survivors spawn together. Your explanation would also imply that the spirit saw a crow flying off in the distance, where? Was the killer looking in that direction when it happened? Did they assume it was another survivor? Also in the process of hooking "Jimbo" 1, 2, and 3 that would be at LEAST a minute and a half. By that time, the brain has already forgotten about the crow since that information was stored in short term memory and dropped due to the importance of the next chase taking up your frontal lobe, forgotten about the exact totem location for that exact same reason, and is likely assuming they could be anywhere. No reasonable person would assume anyone would be hiding at spawn (which you would need lethal pursuer or a wide open map and assume where the survivors are starting from), nor anything after the 3rd sentence, not to mention the amount of unlikely scenarios that would have to occur for it to happen. Also, the poster said they weren't even the one to cleanse the totem, so even IF they remembered the general area of the totem breaking, why would they assume a second survivor would be hanging around?

That is my point. Your explanation is so far out of the realm of common that cheating is way higher on the list. This isn't even "subconscious" thought. You are consciously typing up a scenario that if you had perfect information and just so happened to see everything that would lead you to that conclusion, it would already be extremely unlikely for anyone to reasonably assume, not to mention you are creating explanations as you go, instead of organically experiencing them in a match. You could probably win the lottery twice before you see at least one match where that explanation you gave is the reason the poster got found.

Never once did I say cheating isnt a problem, but people are using it as an excuse to immediately point fingers the moment something doesnt go their way. In the case of this Spirit, they are providing us with such little information that quite literally any assumptions made about them (including cheating) can be called absurd

And I'M saying you are creating a top 0.00000000000000000000000001% scenario to which no killer in the moment would think about. It can't be disproven, but it is so borderline impossible for that to happen following your line of thinking, it's meaningless. In this case it is more likely that the spirit is cheating than doing some 100D chess move in an average dbd lobby.

If assumptions were enough reason to get banned then half the playerbase would be gone.

The point of my post is to show just how little we have to off of. Of course its inaccurate, but there are literally thousands of different scenarios with what we have to work with.

I am 100% serious, I JUST played a game against an openly cheating Myers advertising his youtube cheats channel. Just in case you think cheating isn't a problem.

When did I say assumptions are enough of a reason to get banned? Stop putting words in my mouth. I'm saying it's within the realm of possibility that they could have been cheating, whereas you were willing to jump through a million hoops of almost borderline impossibility before saying that cheating might be the reason, despite cheating being a rampant problem.

This still doesnt give the full picture since theres no way of knowing without actually seeing the game it self. Just to give a possible scenario of what could of happened, assuming the game went EXACTLY as you described with you staying in the locker the entire time, and that you didnt accumulate accumulate AFK crows.

Is this how the game went? No, but it just proves how we cant just jump the gun and immediately go "oh yeah they were cheating" with the bare minimum you are providing us (which is all you can really give since not only did you probably not record the game, but also you dont have the Spirits perspective)

I understand that you're trying to give other reasonable alternatives, but the amount of "if if if if if if if if if if if" you're willing to do to justify an extremely unlikely scenario is actually kind of hilarious. Besides, don't all the killer main content creators cry wolf about a "subtle cheating epidemic?" Cheaters are literally everywhere. At this point, it IS the most logical solution.

No need to go into a post about licensed characters and fire shots because of the people you've played the game with haven't been satisfactory. Id imagine the ones behind fixing matchmaking would have nothing to do with ones in charge of licensing deals. The matchmaking is being worked on seperately.

And its not all about licenses as the most notorious survivor for Getting the team killed is Sable.

The fact of the matter is people play Sable because she has good skins and people find her attractive. Nobody is buying dbd to play Sable because she does not have a reputation outside of dbd. Remember that 50% of players are below average. Guess how many of those are probably playing Sable. That's why she's so high.

The people that join the game via licensed content do not actually care about the game itself, they only care about being able to play characters from their favorite franchise. Their dedication to the game is directly tied to their satisfaction of the franchise invading dbd. These are the kinds of players do not care about balance they do not care about the killer/survivor experience. They have no motivation to stay if their favorite license no longer gives them a reason to play. I'm hardly throwing shade when that's literally how it is. For every 1 decent Leon Kennedy, you have 99 Leons who are eliminated 2 minutes into the match starting.

1 2 3 4 … 17
