See, you know what's up. It's irrelevant to the point.
Yep. Most killer mains will always find an excuse as to why their bad manners were "justified." Some of the comments here really are case in point.

If you get 4 man slugged against a non insta-down killer I'm sorry but that's a skill issue.
Not necessarily your skill issue or fault, but overall a team skill issue.
Blight, nurse, spirit, hag, wraith, etc. all say hello.

Says to me either toxic build so ye they deserve it or didn't go into the match equipped to deal with the oh so common slugging. hidden perks says something to hide.
Toxic build is subjective. To one person, a toxic build has prove thyself only, to another it's 4 second-chance perks. Hidden perks means it is irrelevant to the discussion because, either way, no matter what perks a survivor runs, slugging everyone for 4 minutes is never justified, even if they are running meta perks.

Or this was a huge bully squad that went out of their way to be annoying. Or a griefer squad who wanted to hide and seek all game. Or something in between.
Or it's nothing at all.
The fact that you immediately went to us versus them nonsense, the fact that this seems to be a pretty consistent thing with you to the point where you seem to genuinely hate killer players, combined with this needless bit of obfuscation is…let's just say it's tickling the 'suspicious' part of my brain.
Does a bully squad justify slugging everyone for 4 minutes? News flash, just because someone brought a flashbang doesn't mean they're in a 4 man swf. Just because someone brought dead hard doesn't mean they're in a 4 man swf. No matter what perk combination a survivor runs doesn't mean they are in a 4 man swf bully squad, full stop.
Nothing justifies slugging someone out for 4 minutes. Nothing. It is pure pettiness any way you slice it. 4 minute slugging in my opinion should be a reportable offense under unsportsmanlike conduct.
Also I hardly consider an accurate observation of the situation confirmed not only by the OP, but following comments from killer players as an "us vs them" interpretation any fault of mine for knowing what was going to happen next.

If you have had any luck with finding a fix please let me know!
I haven't found a fix yet. I believe this is somehow an issue with the game itself because it is using my GPU, it just isn't reporting as such to the task manager.

It's an absolute shame mobile players will have to suffer a downgraded experience with the PC version. Going from a version with ranked modes, emotes, better cosmetics, and an ACTUAL meaningful stat screen; the PC version is going to feel like an early alpha build.

We name Wraith, GF, Huntress then~ At best 2/6 of the iris we would consider stronger than a majority of the things below them. That's not a good track record for it. We do have to admit that "best" is subjective here though.
Map offerings do affect the mental game as well in very similar ways to map offerings.
.…ok so this sentence kinda stumpped us... We ask for you to please reword? Unless thats exactly what you mean to say…
We not only brought up mirror Meyers, we also brought Huntress too (side note last 3 Huntress we saw at midwitch did…poorly) and the main point of that was to compare how Huntress does on that map (rotten fields) vs how she does at the other (Lerys). Yes she can do well but so can any killer, the point is she's going to do better at one vs the other. That said we can throw others in if you want. Hag at Eyrie, Doc at the game, Artist and swamp maps, Hux at Lerys, Billy at rpd. They all can do well despite the map but theres a clear difference in one map vs another. And no, its not more of the mentality, after all Blight can't bounce through walls.
Silent bell is amazing with any line of sight blocker. All seeing spirit removes guesswork when patrolling gens. You essentially have knowledge on where all active progress for the survivors is. Iri head is infamous. Soldier's puttee is not the greatest, although it was added in 2021, which is after they started the new addon philosophy. Ghostface is a bit of an issue because he is a pretty bad killer due to him having no chase ability and relies solely on basic attacks. His strongest and most used addons are drop-leg night sheath and driver's license, which are both purple; but his iris do allow for amazing snowball potential if the nature of basic attack killers wasn't so abysmal. So that is 3 out of 5 eligible addons, with the two poor performing addons being due to a poorly designed killer. I agree that best is subjective.
Sorry, I meant to say map offerings affect the mental game in similar ways to party streamers.
Huntress does very well on Midwich in my experience because of the long hallways and forced small loops in the classrooms. I know some huntress players don't know how to play on indoor maps, but good huntresses know how to capitalize on it. Sure they aren't getting cross map hatchets, but you don't need those to win a game. I agree that certain killers have the ability to perform better on certain maps, like trapper on any map you can hide your traps with the terrain, but the question now is how much? Sure blight can't bounce through walls, but put him on any map in the hands of a capable player, and he might as well have the ability to bounce through walls.

Those aren't facts more than they are feelings and application of data where it shouldn't be applied, mass conglomerated data like kill rates don't at all impact the individual. Pauboradriguez2007 who just booted up the game for the first time won't have a 50% kill rate just because the map says he should. Survivors bringing a map offering don't happen in a bubble and if we had ACTUAL stats for kill rates / survival rates when a map offering was played I think you would be humming a different tune. You are taking stats you think can apply to it and running with it because in your mind it supports the point you are making, unfortunately it does not and the data is not applicable, map offerings are frequently used in conjunction with grouped survivors, survivors sporting strong builds and items trying to win, and killers with customed tailored builds for the maps they are trying to send themselves to. If you had stats on how well they did in those matches I think you would see why the offering rarity is a good change and map offerings shouldn't be refunded, because again it just kicks the problem down the road the next group without the offering in play.
Application of data where it shouldn't be applied? Now THAT sounds more like balancing around feelings over data.
Again you are free to your opinion, but your statements are just that. If map offerings really were that impactful, they would have a significant impact on the kill rate data we got earlier this year because everyone would be running them because they're such a competitive advantage. Guess what? They didn't. And let's say that they have brought the kill rates down. Removing them would increase the kill rates, bringing the average killer up to kill rate levels within the 70% and 80% range. That would be a clear indication that the game is killer sided. It's either a) map offerings are not as effective as you are claiming, or b) the game currently is heavily killer sided at the expense of solo queue survivor players, and map offerings are the only thing keeping a semblance of balance within the game.
Yes some 4 man SWFs top MMR can use maps to their advantage. Yes some top MMR quickest 4k Myers can use this to their advantage. Is this the majority of matches? Absolutely not, not by a long shot. The community has made a mountain out of a molehill with map offerings as a scapegoat for their poor performance in matches. If you look at the data given to us and even 3rd party data gathered by players, it is not as big of a problem as you are making it out to be, full stop.

People miss my point but okay. **You never see posts from Survivor complain about Map Offering to Haddonfield. But you'll definitely find posts from Killers being sent to Eyrie or Badham as the complaints relate to Offerings.**
Most killers take map offerings so personally. What they don't understand is that the player using the offering has no idea who they are playing against nor what build they are running (complete opposite of the killer player who is able to see player profiles, items, and previously prestige). A lot of killers got their way with this poor band-aid fix, and are now gloating to anyone they see having any sort of criticism about it.

Well if you say any killers may we pick PyramidHead, plague and artist? PyramidHead has practically his strongest add ons at common and uncommon while one of plagues best is an uncommon as well. Artist's rare and very rare add-ons while not bad and some fun are mostly not as practical as the boring being able to shoot faster or hindered.
So if you actually read what we typed, we said streamers don't affect them the same way as maps do which makes them sense if rarity doesn't equal power as bjorksnas above is also explaining.
This definition seems to fit more as another rare offering, the bloody party streamers, don't influence the match in a way map offerings do.
We have never stated they don't affect the match, yet as we said and was probably ignored, map affects both the mental game and the mechanical part. One gives more than just a psych advantage because some killers have heavy handicaps or buffs at some maps. The same is true to a lesser extent with survivors and what build they bring.
Shrug we would call that playing relatively normal but to each their own.
You can pick any killer you want, but if you read what I said, I said that they have been moving away from iri only being broken addons; but for the killers that are more than 4 years old, their iris are still their best addons in terms of power.
I did read what you wrote. Map offerings do affect the mental game as well in very similar ways to map offerings. Most maps are not a problem for both sides, just look at the kill rates. Bringing up scratched mirror Myers as a counter to that is cherry picking the biggest edge case of them all, and it is not a representation of every other killer in the game. Huntress still does very well on indoor maps like Midwich. Same with Billy. Most killers have decent win rates on the majority of what the community would consider "survivor sided maps." Losing in these cases have more to do with mentality and RNG rather than the map affecting performance. That mentality is in the same vein that a party streamer has. The acknowledgement of it existing has more effect on the match than the actual item itself.

Novelty, less is more
It happens all the time, look at status effect addons, they go in every single rarity with no rhyme or reason besides exposed addons
We've seen ~6 instances of addons changing rarity and its usually off the tail end of a rework not a response to something being good / bad on its own.
No, I'm sorry but saying it's just novelty is simply wrong.
Status effect addons ARE powerful. Oblivious is extremely powerful as it can lead to free hits and a killer snowball. The standard "put sloppy butcher on an addon" addon is extremely powerful; you are running a 5th perk essentially that slows down healing. Blindness is powerful, especially when solo queue players are a part of the equation. And even IF you were to wrongly assume that they aren't powerful, they are, at the very least, more tedious to play against the higher rarity, which is not simply just "novelty."
Of course they are primarily changed after major reworks, because the entire kit of a killer is reworked. For average balancing, they usually try tweaking numbers on existing addons rather than messing with rarity because each killer only has a certain number of addons per rarity. With a rework, they can start from the ground up, which is where they reclassify the rarities based on the updated mechanics and power levels of each addon.
So no, no matter which way you look at it, it's not just "novelty." There is a method that is roughly followed and that method is power level/impact on a match.

Item rarity implies …. Rarity, not strength, how often the game wants you to be able to run something does not directly equal how strong it is. Sometimes rarity matches up with strength but that's not really the guidelines by which they choose rarity for items, addons, and offerings.
There are plenty of useless iri addons compared to brown addons, plenty of killers have only 2-3 good addons and usually they are yellow / brown. Survivors have a green commodious toolbox that almost universally better and more versatile than the 2 purple toolboxes that come after it at doing what those specialized toolboxes want to do but better because it has more charges. Green medkits used to be some of the best medkits because even though purple had more charges back in the day it just healed yourself faster.
One of the best bloodpoint offerings is yellow, and the best group offering is green, while there are 4/5 (depending on side) other green bp offerings that don't even hold a candle to them.
Just because they changed a formerly green offering to a brown offering so that people could access it more often doesn't mean you need to buff the strongest offerings in the game.
Why would the devs want to limit how frequently an item is used if not for its implied power or effect on a match?
Arbitrarily puting rarities on items without any rhyme or reason does not logically make sense, and it is simply not true.
To your addon point, the addon rarities are the dev's own internal power rankings before the community uses them. We have seen many instances of addons changing rarity based on their effectiveness, look at Billy's new iri after his rework or even soma family photo on singularity. The fact that knight used to run only a common and uncommon addon (map of the realm and dried horse meat) is purely because of the reliability those addons brought. His other addons are still very good, but also knight on release after his massive buff patch didn't need much more to be an oppressive killer. That's why addons are a similar yet separate topic from offerings.

As we've implied before and suppose have to clearly state, rarity does not immediately imply strength. If you want more cases of this look at iridescent add-ons for some killers. Since the survivors are cooperating already why should it not be a group decision with 4? If they can't all communicate why should the group of 2+ dictate the map? What we is an over complication of things if adding more types of wards.
Streamers don't influence the trial the same way a map offering does. One affects only player mentality, the other affects the mentality and what the player can do. Examples: Mirror Meyers or Huntress at rotten fields vs lerys institute. Despite also being a rare offering the streamers dont have the same impact do they?
Also on a slite side track, to play an optimized game wouldn't you need to prepare before the trial with builds and such? Sure you can play more viciously but not more "optimally".
See above comment. They have been shifting away from iri addons being directly overpowered like with what they did with Dracula, but look at spirit or huntress or clown. Their better addons are greens or above.
A party streamer(s) absolutely affects the match. I never said it was to the same physical degree a map offering does. It's all a part of the mental game. People play differently if they are in play.
Playing optimally in terms of core killer skills. You don't need 4 slowdown to play optimally. You can play optimally with what you have equipped.

Item rarity does not equal Balance it doesn't matter its a brown addon countering a green addon
And kicking the stone further down the road for people who don't bring sacrificial wards every game isn't fair, bringing the offerings should come with some risk because with any amount of saving / swf you can bring them every single match and most of the time get easy wins from them. Saying the easy win button shouldn't have a risk associated with it like being eaten by the better odds of a fair map button is something I don't understand.
Item rarity does imply balance. Look at a yellow flashlight versus a green flashlight. Look at any killer's iri addons versus their common addons. Case and point spirit. To say that item rarity does not imply balance is just factually incorrect.

Nah, map offerings should just be removed from the game entirely. Being able to choose a map and bring an optimal build for it is obnoxious and neither survivors or killers should be allowed to have that much influence on a match before it even begins.
Convert all existing map offerings in players' inventories to Bloody Party Streamers and retire them.
I would prefer this over the band-aid fix we got.

Another definition of "rarity" is the frequency or how common it is. This definition seems to fit more as another rare offering, the bloody party streamers, don't influence the match in a way map offerings do.
We ask why should 2 offerings override it? Any swf or chatty group of solos can already override it by placing 4 of the same map offering. Killers don't even get that luxury as sacrificial wards are something both sides use. We see it as fine as is.
Team coordination pregame will always allow for the cancelation of a sacrificial ward. If the survivors are cooperating, it doesn't matter if it's two, three, or four offerings. Having it be two only helps with the implication that the rarer the item, the more powerful it is. This is upheld by the power to rarity ratio for killer addons, item addons, items, etc. An easy solution would be for 4 tiers of sacrificial ward. Common can be cancelled by two offerings, rare can be three, very rare can be four, and ultra rare can be a guarantee. Also this is assuming that the players can communicate. Console players cannot see chat with PC players.
Also, bloody party streamers absolutely influence a match. A player using one will try to acquire as many bloodpoints as possible to maximize the offering. They will play differently for sure. If a killer sees enough bloodpoint offerings, they may decide to play a farm game. Or they could decide to play a completely optimized game to prevent the survivors from benefiting from the offering. Long story short, yes even they influence a match.

"I'm not argueing whether or not map offerings are fair. Im arguing about someone trying to remove my attempts at unfairness because I spent imaginary points to have this advantage on someone else's expense."
That's you... that's what you sound like. A weird side effect of sacrificial wards is they can make salt taste oh so sweet.
When the rarity for a map offering is rare and the rarity for a sacrificial ward is common... yes. Higher rarity implies greater influence or power on the match. If that is no longer the case, a complete rework of the bloodpoint system should be done (I think it should be done regardless). That was why I suggested at the very least only two of the same offering should cancel a sacrificial ward. It still has its intended effect, but it isn't as powerful as it used to be due to its new rarity (if returning the offering is not an option).
Also, I would appreciate if you were less condescending to me. I don't see what I've done to warrant that.

I'll agree to that. In the meantime though, go ahead and keep tossing those SURVIVOR sided map offerings in the fire. You could be using BP offerings but you choose to try to skew the odds in your favor at the main menu. I'm overjoyed that it only takes a brown offering to kick your toe off the scale.
I mostly use them for either variety or achievements. The fact that RPD and nostromo feel like they have increased pick rates is half the reason I cycle my map offerings since the game's RNG doesn't seem to want to do its job.

Survivors don't have the option to alt+f4 in the loading screen with no penalty?
Its fair because map offerings aren't fair and giving BOTH sides the option to choose not the deal with them (its not a killer exclusive offering) makes for a more balanced game of rock paper scissors.
Alt-f4 still burns the offering of the player who disconnected. So no, if a survivor sees a sacrificial ward, they don't have the option to alt-f4 because the result is the same: the offering is still consumed. This interaction only favors the sacrificial ward player because not only is the chance of all 4 other people using the same offering borderline non existent, but sacrificing an offering that costs 2000 points and spawns in 50% of bloodwebs can be found almost instantly after the fact.
I'm not arguing whether or not map offerings are fair or not. I'm arguing that a sacrificial ward has too much power for being a common item. At this point, it should be cancelled if two of the same map offering are brought to pull its power in line with the rarity.

You can't say "I'm not begging to bring map offerings every game" while your entire point was you want to keep the offering so you can -checks notes- equip it until it works. Map offerings were already countered before this change by bringing another map offering. Those map offerings were not refunded either. The 200k you keep mentioning is not the value of a map offering. It's the total value of every offering and addon you got.
In short... keep burning your map offerings until they're all gone. Maybe someone will let one work. It sure ain't gonna be me, lol. I'm running sac wards every match.
It wasn't. And yes 200k is the net value of the addon if all someone is looking for is a specific map offering to complete an achievement. Half of the green items in the game for survivors are never used: green keys, the green bloodpoint offerings for the individual categories, the maps that are extremely killer sided. Most of the bloodweb's items are junk and it really needs to be reworked.

there is no point to run a map offering
Then… don't.
You are missing the point of the post. Why have the offering at all if the risk is too high to run it? You wouldn't spend 1000 dollars on a lottery ticket if it was the same odds as a scratch off. I know the simple response is "well just remove the map offerings." Why wasn't that done instead of this?
The risk of being countered needs to be toned down if they still have the map offerings in a pool of 42 rare items. Having a band-aid fix like this is poor game design.
-
@bjorksnas said:
its not 1 survivor who can get the offering, and again 1 of a specific offering, almost every high level bloodweb has a map offering or several. There isn't just 1 good offering for survivors, if you play with any frequency and don't bring them every match you will net a ton of them and if you are during an event for more bp you will go net positive even using them every match… as 1 player. You can team up with people to have map offerings every game quite easily.
Which, again, is all countered by a 2000 bloodpoint common offering that has a 50% chance to spawn in all bloodwebs. I have never in my thousands of hours playing this game seen a group of 4 survivors cancel a sacrificial ward by all running the same map offering, but even if that were the case, the killer still has the option to alt+f4 on the loading screen with no penalty. How is that fair for anyone?
-
@GeneralV said:

But no offering comes with that guarantee. If you used them but didn't get any value, for whatever reason, it is part of the game.
They always have that risk.
The risk is egregiously disproportional to any other situation. 200k bloodpoints can be upwards of an hour or two of playing, all for the chance of one offering. You can get a sacrificial ward by logging in with the daily bloodpoint login bonuses that always seem to be running. I'm not begging to bring map offerings every game, all I'm saying is with the current implementation, there is no point to run a map offering because the investment is too much for the risk involved. I understand that was the point of the band-aid fix, but like the math shows, it is completely unfair for those who want to complete map achievements or anything of the sort when their rare offering is countered by a common one.
-
@GeneralV said:
I don't think that should be done.
You aren't forced to use a map offering. In the old DBD days I saw someone play Mirror Myers without a map offering, if you can believe that.
By choosing to use an offering, you choose to take the risk of the offering being canceled, and I think that is okay.
The point of what I'm saying is that the risk of running a map offering far exceeds the risk of one person saying no. Someone spending 200k+ bloodpoints to get one map offering of their choice versus someone spending at most 50k to have almost a guaranteed sacrificial ward is not fair in my opinion. The risk is still there for the map to get cancelled, but at least that player would have another fair chance to run the map the next match if it was refunded, instead of having to potentially spend another 200k+ bloodpoints for another of the same offering.
@Crowman said:
Nah. Sac Wards aren't refunded if no map offering is used, so I see no reason why map offerings should be refunded. That's just the risk you have to deal with now that sac wards are more common.
I'm perfectly fine if offerings that have no effect get refunded, that goes for sacrificial wards too. This is part of a larger discussion about how bloodwebs, items, etc. need a full rework in terms of their acquisition, but that's a can of worms outside the scope of this thread.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Apparently Sac Wards aren't foolproof. I used one to cancel an Eyrie offering and we still ended up there anyways. Unless my luck is just that bad.
They don't remove the chance to go to any map, they just remove the influence of the map offering. You're essentially going from a guarantee to a full-odds of the map pool.

Yes, I will lose some games that I could have won with 4 slowdown, but going in with the intention to practice my skills rather than win 100% of the time feels great. The thing is for a long while I treated others as I wish to be treated but my wish didn't come true, I was not treated the same way. Each person has individual experiences so I'm just saying if others have had the same experience I have had then I can understand why some people play in a way that others don't like it considered toxic. But I agree with "why be rude at all?" From day 1 I asked myself that very question when I was bombarded with rude toxic gameplay and messages. I have learnt to not bother trying to understand the way as it will happen regardless. I just concentrate on minimising it happening to me. I'm sure others feel the same and others disagree.
The harsh reality is that people aren't obligated to treat you any specific way just because you are kind to them, but that shouldn't dissuade us from trying to be kind. If they return your kindness with rudeness, it says more about them than anything else. I understand your frustration with feeling like people don't return the kindness, but kindness should come from within and be driven by who you want to be, not simply a means to an end.
This whole idea of kindness in dbd gets even more complicated when you throw the whole idea that this is a game into the mix, because people will act in different, often negative, ways simply because it's a game. At a certain point, there should be a lengthy discussion on if reports for unsportsmanlike conduct should be taken more seriously, how that could even be detected in game, and/or whether or not people think they should even be actionable at all. As it stands right now, it's my opinion that the unsportsmanlike conduct button is simply a placebo button.

Each to their own but I can say that if it's me then I prefer drop down to their level, fight back and actually do something to make sure it doesn't happen to me. If people want play the "I'm not going to stoop to their level" great but be prepared to be hit with it time and time again. I won't stand on my pedestal thinking "it's ok I'm better than these people" while allowing them to throw **** at me, I'm climbing down to throw **** back
You can agree to disagree without having the last word, especially when your data points come from personal anecdotes. All you really can do is say "I disagree because of my experiences, but they are just mine so they aren't a full reflection of the situation."
Also, not stooping to someone's level isn't "standing on a pedestal," it's about treating others how you wish to be treated; or having the wisdom to know that taking your frustration out on four random people in a video game means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of anyone's life, so why choose to be rude at all.

gen defence singu is the most tedious and boring kind of gameplay this killer has and this is exactly the reason this killer is so much capable of grinding solo q players into fine powder as beating gen defence bot is extremely difficult without coordination as he completely abandons 1v1 interactions and focuses entirely on resource&gen defence 1v4 gaming where survivors have no agency unless they play well as a team.
I don't really understand all the disrespect for the people that disagree with you. We're trying to have an honest discussion about the merits of my initial post, but you're just not listening to anyone who disagrees with you, on top of throwing quite rude insults back at them.

though i dont really care about you 4king as singularity. you wont be able to do that for a while anyway and we arent talking about you playing as this killer, we're talking about your impotence against this killer that you put so much effort into denying.
i want you to post your survivor gameplay vs this killer so we can see what you're doing wrong.
At this point, you have to be trolling if you're reading what @GeneralV and I were just talking about, and then deciding to post a comment asking me to post gameplay.

Yep, that is why posting your own gameplay here is never worth it.
Suddenly the survivors you played against were terrible, or their builds were terrible, or the killer was terrible, or the map was not balanced, and the list goes on.
Yeah it's always some excuse. It's almost as if it's some fallback auto-win the argument here on the forums: "oh my logic fell through… how about you post gameplay or your ideas mean nothing!!!" It gets overly tiresome extremely quickly.
-
Because how much gameplay would be sufficient for you? Say I posted 100 games of me 4king on singularity, you'd find some way to dismiss that.

oh, forget about nuking singularity, these changes FORCE singularity in the most boring and simultaneously efficient playstyle - gen defence, because that's the only thing he'd be able to do, even if that would be much weaker bc of the pod cooldowns.
whenever people, who have not a single bit of understanding of how character functions, try to identify and fix the issues they think the character has, they end up making things so much worse.
it's like this guy was responsible for making that failed twins rework.
"How do we want to rework twins?"
"We dont want them to slug"
"okay, so what will they do?"
"I dont know, but they WILL NOT slug"
same here. this guy doesnt care what singularity will do, he just wants him NOT TO INFECT PEOPLE MIDCHASE. doesnt matter at what cost and how, he just seethes at the thought singularity is able to just get the permission to use his power without much hindrance, it's actually inconceivable
You making the claim that I don't want singularity to infect mid chase proves that you did not understand my post and have been arguing some straw-manned point this entire time. I never once said he shouldn't be able to infect people mid chase. I said it is currently too easy to and using his only counter (EMPs), despite your erroneous claims that there's a way to make them effective, do next to nothing because reapplying a pod takes no time at all with very little skill required.

it's funny how your only input in this discussion is replying with this meaningless and irrelevant nonsense instead of listening to competent people.
you cling so hard on the idea that it's somehow not fair that singularity should not supposed to just reinfect you after EMP has been used, that you completely forget that this ability is very much the core of this killer's design and that this killer is built around it.
You dismiss anything that's been told to you, because if you were to actually listen to even a single bit of that, your entire narrative would've fell apart and that would mean you'd have to confront the issue not being the killer you're so eager to complain about.
this incompetence and complete lack of understanding of the character, on top of blazing rage and refusal to listen make you a fine example of what kind of people usually tend to make complaint posts in media spaces of dbd.
My input has been contradicting your blatantly false statements about singularity. The only things I've dismissed are your statements that have had nothing to do with my original post, or your statements that don't hold up to any amount of scrutiny or critical thinking (EMP while he's slowed after you triggered his spirit fury after throwing a pallet, forcing him to hit you 😂 I mean come on 🤣). Make a good argument that makes sense, and maybe I'd be inclined to consider your points.

actually hilarious reply. this guy thinks the only thing soma photo does is slowing survivor and stopping a syringe.
do you know how busted it is to be able to force an injured survivor to do a 12 second mend every time they get into your camera sight across the entire map? in close games this addon accumulates MINUTES of wasted time on mending, let that information sink into your not very open mind.
god forbid survivors dont have insta reset builds or you play antiheal on top of that.
you dont just "dont know", you have NO IDEA at all, even remotely 🤣
And here we go again with the unfunny memes to try and make it seem like your argument holds any water! 😂😂😂
If you're playing in an MMR range where people haven't disabled that pod with an EMP, or rotated to another generator altogether, or (here's the smartest play) HEALED TO HEALTHY, then I don't know what to tell you. Your skills on singularity surely have their place in a certain MMR bracket, but now it makes total sense how you're unable to see what high MMR singularities are able to do and what my original argument is about.
Besides, if you are on cameras most of the time trying to inflict deep wounds, you're just stalling the game and not getting hooks. Good players know how to play around that. Whichever content creator convinced you with a video of a cherry picked game that this was some form of unbeatable addon has done a massive disservice to the reality of the situation.
I know they say killer mains will defend their main no matter what, but this is honestly just peak comedy to watch 😂🤣

Pretty positive the changes you suggest here would nuke Singularity into oblivion. Not being able to destroy emp'd pods and having to wait 5 seconds after placing a pod before you can slipstream a survivor would be awful, and absolutely feel awful to play as.
I guess I wouldn't be against some number tweaks maybe, like having EMP's progress a bit further on their own so you have to spend a little less time to retrieve them, and a nerf to his soma family photo addon, but other than that he seems fine to me. There is definitely some counterplay for survivors to prolong chases and waste time so other survivors can work on gens.
I also fail to see how he doesn't require much skill. He definitely has a fairly high skill floor and very high skill ceiling if you ask me. And it seems that most of the community agrees with that sentiment.
Most of the community misattributes skills to a specific killer rather than understanding those skills can be used on all killers. Knowing how to aim your camera (slipstreaming via pods or aiming with your power in chase) works well on nurse, deathslinger, huntress, trickster, etc. Knowing how to zone a survivor (pods that are around LOS, forcing survivors away from windows to teleport to) works well on knight, trapper, artist, pyramid head, etc. This is what I mean. There are absolutely 0 skills that are unique to singularity apart from having a basic understanding of how his power works, and then using that knowledge to play the game. That's not a skill ceiling, that's called following the instructions.

he is fine atm, unless you're talking about soma family photo. that addon is in fact nuts and if OP was basing his bitching on the fact this addon exists, I would be agreeing with him that this stuff needs to be gone.
basekit singu tho, not so much. he's like a sidegrade from what he used to be where he leans more into actually interacting with survivors in chase instead of stacking 8 seconds of overclock and just guaranteeing to win every tile. overclock rn is much shorter and has a consistent timing that's very much possible to play around as it runs out just barely before he can hit the survivor. autoaim did help people to pick him up, but that hasnt done anything to make them good at using the actual power.
Soma family photo inflicts 3% hindered for 3 seconds, or only a loss of 0.36 meters if there was no hindered per slipstream. Applying deep wound only stops an anti-hemorrhagic syringe or an adrenaline play. If you think this addon is broken, then you know that you can easily reapply a pod in chase and have that affect the outcome.
Either that, or the self proclaimed singularity main who is willing to teach others how to play singularity isn't up to date on his killer's changes…

What does that have to do with you completely misreading the original post? 😂 Like if you would have understood the assignment then great, but giving an answer to a question of your own creation and then complaining that I'm not understanding you is Olympic level mental gymnastics. If it was just that, I wouldn't have an issue, but for you to then double down on it over and over again with, quite frankly, extremely unfunny memes meant as "gotchas" insulting my intelligence and understanding of the game is such a tasteless and rude thing to do.

I believe I also remember you calling Huntress overpowered in 2v8 When she is clearly not but that specific circumstance might have been someone else.
Yeah you're definitely thinking of someone else… I've never in my life called huntress OP…

now you're changing your point, apparently the issue now is how survivors have to "commit time for almost 0 payoff". which is also just a really wrong and weird way of wording "i cannot appreciate being able to chain to the tile without worrying about getting tp'ed to immediately". I guess I'll take that as you saying that you cannot argue anymore there's zero counterplay to being infected immediately after using EMP and that you actually agree you just use it at a wrong time or in the wrong way.
So now we're arguing the "time sink" and "0 payoff".
You don't have to "sink time" to get EMP if you're planning on being chased. It's a nice bonus to have, but it's perfectly okay to engage in chase without it. You should simply be mindful that Singularity's power by default prevents you from chaining tiles too far and you have to chain one tile at a time. Unless, of course, you at least try to match the effort singularity is putting into playing the game and doing the aforementioned things. But you are just a chill guy, you don't want to put some effort into merely denying killer their power to get more opportunities in chase. That's for sweaty people and you're "Better™"
However if you do, you get an actual payoff in terms of having the ability to chain further than one tile because you're able to stall the infection & teleport for long enough to enable that.
It's going to be funny to watch you come up with another barrage of excuses, too bad I would only see that tomorrow, so please use that time I give you into putting at least a bit of good faith into this discussion and reading the explanations I've benevolently given you instead of responding with another ignorant accusation, thank you. Maybe you wouldn't even have to respond with that nonsense again.
And actually try to imagine for a second that maybe you don't really have to use EMP to counter Singularity in chase. Maybe there's a reason Singularity is actually able to reinfect people in close proximity almost immediately unless they've already made distance. Maybe EMPs are meant as merely a support tool in chase and their main purpose is somewhere else like denying Singularity map presence. Maybe there's more to it, maybe the actual teleport/overclock have counterplay to them. Maybe some of it was even explained in this thread.
The point literally didn't change. All that typing for you misreading the entire post 🤣😂

yeah, their entire way of arguing is just repeating the same false and irrelevant thing over and over while steering the convo away. it's kinda sad and time consuming.
that person is dedicating so much effort into complaining how they suck at preventing being infected (or, better say, at extracting value from cleansing infection in chase) and use that as an argument that singularity has no counterplay in chase, even though that thing has nothing to do with the actual chase and is more like a finisher you pull off once you've won an interaction with the killer.
Look out, a totally unbiased singularity main said something is false, welp that must mean he's telling the truth!

its actually funny how desperately you cling on not being able to permanently prevent being infected as a justification that singularity has no counterplay.
it's like crying there's nothing you can do to stop wesker from doing his dashes or prevent unknown from shooting the blob while entirely ignoring all the stuff you can do against the power being used. yeah, "that do be like that" ©. doesnt mean there's a plenty of things you can do in the actual chase, that I even described above with video example and that you conveniently ignored.
also, please look up what the word "Logically" means. My words are very much consistent in their rationale and reason.
I understand you really need to say something to sound smart, but calling things you dont like as "not making sense logically" makes you look really bad.
it's actually getting tiring to try to teach an ignorant person something if they refuse to learn and just keeping repeating the same nonsense and accusing me of nonsense, so please be a more productive and post your gameplay vs singu to prove how wrong I am and how there's zero counterplay to his power in chase. I'll be glad if you make an example out of yourself here.
I never said that EMPs should permanently disable his power. If you actually would address the points I made in my original post, and not some made up bogeyman, you'd have seen that. All I am saying is that singularity's counterplay means nothing because survivors have to commit so much time for almost 0 payoff.
I don't need you to teach me anything when you can't even read the assignment correctly. Trying to call me ignorant while using memes as your main form to discredit me without any logic is actually appalling, and for you to think that that's "logic" is as equally as appalling.

stun is "like 2 seconds" and he loses LoS and has to break a pallet.
"You realize slowing the killer down is perk dependent right (only 2 in existence)?"
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/WZXHXDWOH9E4/image.png
i`ll be responding with memes every time you make such a claim because I cant seriously argue against that willful ignorance.
You realize LOS can be negated by placing a pod around said LOS like rocks or high walls?
And you'll break LoS again because at this point you'll have a bunch of ######### between you and the killer. Unless of course you're playing haddonfield, in which case my condolences. It doesnt take much to move away from killer's LoS and then avoid delayed TP. Put some thought into your pathing for god's sake.
2 seconds is not a valid amount of time to counter the power with an EMP.
DbD players arguing raw math without considering how it's applied. In those 2 seconds you move away from his LoS and make a little bit of distance at which point you should've secured yourself basic LoS break. If you have gamesense to understand there's a bunch of obstacles between you and Singularity (for example you've stunned him in a jungle gym and chained to the tile nearby with tall walls), then you'll be able to channel EMP successfully and keep running if necessary, while delaying the infection.
Let me put it in very simple terms: if you stun the singularity and then dont ######### up at avoiding the single desperate attempt at getting LoS on you by throwing a camera at a normally restricted angle (if you dropped a pallet on him in any tall wall loop or managed to run off behind any tall wall cover immediately), then you get pretty much the same amount of distance you get by stunning any other killer without an ability to catch up.
All you have to do after stunning him is not run in a straight line in front of him and move to any cover and then use EMP asap.
At this point singularity is either forced to run around the pallet or break it, giving you even more distance.
And even that is not necessary, you can squeeze minutes long chases vs singularity by simply using the windows and trading pallets carefully. EMP to deny distance is just a cherry on top.
Besides, his pod has a 32 meter range to target a survivor.
what you are trying to say is that his placing and range distance combined make up roughly 32 meters (42 in fact, but in reality the effective range does add up at about 32 meters) so Im not going to make fun of you not knowing the actual numbers, however you do not account that Singularity's teleport from pod has a time delay of 0.8 seconds and the placement angle is normally very limited in such situation. Aka refer to the reply above to the comment about 2 seconds of stun being enough.
At this point you are being intellectually dishonest about your main lol
Showing your slipstream stat literally proves my point lol.
your point being that I know better? I dont remember you establishing that point, but that's what that is proving. I showed that you lack common knowledge about Singularity
you dont even know his own power slows him down if you drop a pallet on him
and despite that you throw around numbers you are incapable of understanding.
You can keep responding with memes but that's not going to help your argument. Clearing your pod status does NOTHING when he can mark you again immediately. I don't see what you fail to understand about that, it's not a hard concept to grasp. Like I said in my original post, singularity players place pods around LOS, or high enough to where the LOS is a non issue. The stun being 2 seconds or 5 seconds does not matter when he can immediately mark you again.
I do know that stunning him slows him, but I fail to understand how you think that's a valid counter when the pallet breaks due to built in spirit fury, and the survivor is animation locked into the pallet throw animation for a decent portion of that slow. Like are you even reading what you're writing?

@Ayodam said:
He’s pretty strong. I actually play and enjoy this killer but the counterplay basically comes down to LoS blocking.
Isn’t he in like the top 5 highest kill rates now?
I believe that's right. He's been getting buffs that singularity players swear is just "QOL." But as long as he's not nurse or blight, he's fine so I'm told.
You know, on second thought, I think survivors should have unbreakable base kit, that would be a good QOL. I also think gens taking 20 seconds would be a good QOL as well. What? It's not for the people + buckle up, it's not old dead hard. Why are you complaining? Just patrol gens better. Don't have your 3 gen behind LOS. Just patrol gens when the survivors are either stunned or slowed! (Sarcasm btw)
