Okay I say Tricksters underpowered and than I destroy this team here lol xD. I mean it was tough but I won.

  • Trickster is very underpowered I'll agree and speak personally to this. The maps weren't made for a multiple trick shot killer who takes 16 hits with a ranged attack to down you. Idk if they should lower the amount of hits it takes to down someone or give him a speed buff. But your average player has trouble picking up trickster and being viable. Again you can't look to your R1 players all the time and call that your proof. Majority players is what's lacking here. After all we're playing a 4v1 game not CSGO tournament level stuff here.

  • Hmm. Overall from what I can see I'm not the only one who thought this. Again I'm fairly new to learning where killers stand in this game. But I must've hit some kind of nerve for some players making this thread. I guess for me my main is the Pig. And if I found out she was getting nerfed I'd say, "Why?" But I don't think anyone could find a reason to nerf pig. What other killers do y'all even think should be nerfed before spirit gets a nerf? For the sake of conversation. Because I have just noticed she is probably the one getting dogged on the most and there must be a reason as to why. After reading all of the comments I could see why people want her nerfed. Not that a rigged character can't be counter played I think it's a matter of how practical it is for the community as a whole. You can't always just consider people who are rank 8 through rank 1. You have to consider the whole player base. And if your average survivor and average killer go into a match and the killer is spirit.. Is it going to be very one sided?

Take a look at your build. Spine Chill and Dead Hard - those take a lot of the "skill" and "thought" out of playing survivor.

I'm not saying Spirit is fair, she's not. But it's a bit hypocritical of you to assume ones skill for playing Spirit when you're running those. Now, it's a good build. Don't get me wrong. Absolutely run them. I'm just speaking from the standpoint of someone with 6500 hours.

So it's not the best build? What build would you use?

  • Umm I'm running, burrowed time, dead hard, detectives hunch and spine chill. I'm going for an overall build ish? I can dip out with dead hard if I need to. Save a teammate with burrowed time in a pinch. Detectives hunch is good for getting those pesky totems and overall map awareness. And of course spine chill for trying to predict killers movements. Thoughts?

It's not a perk. I play her on occasion and people always try to mind game. Don't. If she is standing still on the other side of a pallet run away to the next loop. Learn to double back on scratch marks as well. If you are protecting someone just run across their scratch marks. Also if she is standing still, drop pallets early.

That's actually really good advice thank you.

  • @Lucent said:

The issue is you are lazy. Let's be honest, you don't want to learn how to counter her because it's inconvenient for you so you whine and complain. She is simple to play and simple to counter.

You could've said what you said without being rude.

  • She's easy to play and OP and rigged... etc etc...

  • Not really fun tbh. You get little to no blood points for quick matches like that anyway. But shrug..... But ya I'd probably just finish them quickly.

  • @Junylar said:

The problem is, the game is broken beyond repair. It has a ton of exploits, abuses, unbalanced and plainly broken mechanics. So people abusing holes in the game's balance seems to most people unfair and toxic intuitively. You know that such concepts as "fair", "unfair", "honest", "dishonest" and the like are never written or defined, they are understood by most intuitively, they are a priori concepts of human mind. So most people just see that abusing second chance perks, loops, flashlights, camping, tunneling, slugging, etc, all this is unfair somehow, even if it's perfectly legal. You don't need a legal definition of "unfair" to see that something is unfair. The game is badly designed, it's broken and unbalanced, so an honest person would except people to understand all these problems and consider them while playing. But some people don't want to be "fair" and "honest", they just want to win, so of course they will abuse anything they can get away with. It's not about "this is part of the game, victory at any price", it's just about being honest and fair. You either are, or you are not. That should be the actual point of discussion.

By the way, did you know that using crossbows and some other weaponry was forbidden in medieval knight tournaments? Just because crossbows were viewed as an unfair weapon, even though they were "just a part of warfare, m8". It's the same here. If the devs can't provide us rules to make the game fair, players will make these rules themselves just for the sake of justice.

I like that that makes a lot of sense. And without spending too much time making a whole long story I didn't convey some other people. For example if it were up to me this "toxic" gameplay would be done away with. But when I see both sides of the coin being abusable and knowing that any match I play can be abused by the other team. I want to be prepared for that to try and counter it. Cause the reality is is someone's always going to abuse a mechanic if it's in the game. I'm just proposing a perspective is all.

This thread is about people "ineffectively" using their time for the sole purpose of griefing others (slugging everyone until they bleed out, facecamping for a 3 Escape loss, Hook farming). Not about being competitive (facecamping at EGC, proxying, slugging for Hatch).

Having the agency to do so is refreshing, doesn't mean you should condone it.

No that makes sense. No I agree if someone is even using this strategy not to win than they're just bad. If they're doing the thing you said than.. *shrug... Idk I guess if people want to... But I'm not condoning behavior that's gonna make them lose but what's gonna help them win. It really all comes down to the fact that until the dev's do something about it if ever there isn't much to be done. Because the people who do this type of gameplay aren't gonna stop just because people talk about it. They will do it until they can't anymore. I'm not one of these kinds of players. Very rarely do I engage in this type of behavior. I'm just more so proposing a way of looking at it.

  • For someone who's main is pig I honestly have come to the conclusion that pigs ambush ability is under powered. In the saw movies the signature move is knocking survivors out with some type of inhalant. It'd be nice if successful ambush attack inflicted some type of slow poison to survivors or something. It's hard enough as it is to even get a hit with ambush. One of the best pig streamers says to not even waste time using ambush. Which is a hard sad! Like basically don't even use one of the abilities you have cause it's trash. So I think overall regardless of the great perks you run on pig she is due for an upgrade. But I like running anything with surveillance. Excited about the erruption perk from nemesis. Might try to implement that into my build

  • @Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:

I like how you pasted this entire post into another thread.

Actually it's funny you say that because I originally typed this up for that threat tbh. But thought maybe it warranted enough of a stand alone conversation? Shrug maybe not?

  • It's up for debate but it is a good perk. If used in right build it can be really handy. I think it works well just like any other perk. Especially paired with Make Your Choice. But yes it is situational sometimes. I'd have to agree it is probably best with a killer that can teleport around the map. I think it would go well with Demogorgon too.

  • Bit of a controversial rant here but here we go because I have seen so many people complain about "Toxic behavior". God forbid this is the first game to ever have that happen. Remember Halo 2?! Ya tea bagging and BXR and super bouncing etc etc. No one ever thought these were toxic but perfectly normal parts of the game. Or should I say "exploits". If it helps you win I say do it! Since when did the gaming world become a bunch of wimps lol xD

The way I see it.. at the end of the day and I'm not sure where this got lost in this games journey... but.... isn't it the killers job to kill the survivors? It's their job to do so no matter what right? Since when would Freddy, or the Pig, or the trapper, etc etc, have any type of "Morale compass" to play fairly in their killings? The way I see it, play the killer how you want and do your job and kill those little survivor's. And it's the job for the survivors to do anything they can to escape right? If anything when survivors teabag that's also taunting the killer. Not sure if I'd do that in real life but I know it's gonna piss off the killer to the point where they will face camp the next survivor they hook. And that is a repercussion to my actions of tea bagging. I now have caused the killer to focus more on killing 1 survivor instead of stopping gens being popped. Or possibly tunneling. And when I play the killer and I am face camping or tunneling there are pros and cons to that playstyle. I might get 1-2 kills by doing so. It just depends on every scenario and match.

So... furthermore you think in any competitive situation someone should throw away a competitive maneuver just because it is "frowned upon" by other players? I mean if it works why not use it right? I mean you could say, "well I lost because I wasn't toxic enough." Okay??? You lost because you tried a strategy like "fair play in the eyes of others" and you lost. If you don't feel like conforming to a certain playstyle because it doesn't make you happy than don't do it. Pretty sure camping was meant to be an option for killers hence the perk insidious. Standing still for x amount of seconds to hide your terror radius is a strategy. Waiting for a survivor to come back to try and get that last gen popped or save the survivor who is in second hook stage are all reasonable reasons to do so.

Long story short there are plenty of games where someone plays "fair" and they lose and someone doesn't play "fair" and they lose. And vise versa. I'm not saying one thing over the other but if someone wants to play a certain way and it isn't technically "Illegal" in the game than fair game. Until the developers decide to do something about it I say hate the game not the player.

  • Yeah it's only good against uncoordinated survivors without mics. If the group has 2-3 people in chat it's less affective. I mean it has it's place for sure don't get me wrong. Kindred is a decent enough perk some people run and @Zeidoktor makes a good point. But overall again against a coordinated team who're in chat it won't work that well.

  • Oh dope I will do that didn't know! My girlfriend is Pansexual and Queer so I support this very much!

  • Did this come out already?

  • Ya I'd still play. If I'm being honest it's a monthly rank and mostly just shows how much someone plays. I've played against horrible rank 1's and great rank 15's and vise versa. So honestly I don't pay too much attention to rank.

  • I actually love all the perks should be interesting to incorporate into some builds.

Regardless, there are survivors people prefer the look or cosmetics of, and so naturally there are less played survivor characters.

That makes sense actually I see what you're saying. I wonder how much of this is also due to people not owning a certain character as well. I wonder if everyone had all survivors unlocked would we see more of a mix? And now that I think about it same probably goes for killers too. But I tend to over analyze this kind of stuff lol xD.

But I'd say twins for sure for killer and for survivor... hmm Quentin Smith actually.

  • @wishwon said:

Killer and survivor mains alike, what killer do you find most rare to see, and what survivor/s do you find most rare to see? For me it would probably be Plague/Tapp or something.

If I am being honest I don't know why a survivor would never not be played since at the end of the day survivors are just skins with perks that can be taught to everyone else. There is no uniqueness to survivors besides their look.

But for a killer I never see. I never see twins.

Agreed. Me and @Grimmy_Bluues are actually discussing possible perk ideas. I think a combo of the 6 we've come up would be cool. From what I understand not all 3 perks are a perfect build by themselves right? But you still want them to be diverse enough to fit other survivors. @Jarol What 3 perks would you like to see Isaac have? I love my fellow dead space fans!

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2211823#Comment_2211823

Thank you very much! The first perk is definitely my favorite too, since it fits Isaac as a character and would be very useful. You wouldn't be fully immune to hexes, but you would resist the effect for as many times as you have tokens (example: if you have 2 tokens and the killer has NOED, you'll only take one health state of damage for 2 hits, then the 3rd would be insta-down). It would still have it's weaknesses against Ruin, Undying, and Huntress Lullaby since they affect you so much. (The perk would basically remove a token whenever you get the "Hexed" debuff on the side of your screen).

But your idea for making Stasis work on tokens is actually really good, I never thought about that. The only reason I have the active time for it so high is since you have to be really close to the killer for at least 2 seconds to activate it, which would be risky if they're smart. If the time were to be cut down, I would also boost the range a bit to compensate.

Combat Prowess would be strong for sure, so that's why I added the extra debuff to your grunting and breathing and lowered the stun time to be only a bit higher than pallet stun time. Plus, it also has the high risk of having to be super close to the killer while facing them. (Crushing Victor with this would be soooo fun though)

I appreciate all this feedback, I'll have to revise the concepts some time!

Can't wait! Interested to see your revised perks!

I’m wondering if they planned to have a different power originally, where they actually utilised the different members of the legion in the power, then scrapped it when it became too complicated.

Their power is literally just getting to run slightly faster and making survivors stand still mending. It’s not like they spent all their energy on making the best Survivor ever, since they came with Jeff. How did they approve a power that was as simple as running? Even a killer that doesn’t have much to their power, such as Clown would’ve required some work on how the bottle interacts with the environment. It’s honestly baffling how basic this killer is, and even more baffling that a surprising amount of people play them at red rank, since there’s not a single way to down someone outside of being basic basic M1 killer.

Terrible killer, and I doubt they’re ever going to change them again after how controversial they were at launch. We’re going to be stuck with 20 minute games every time we go against a legion for eternity.

Honestly I notice that with many video games this happens. Not saying anything bad about BHVR. Cause they've made some great games. And I love this game. But any game runs into this problem especially games like this. You create a game that has a simple concept and it has a very structured first build to it with certain characters. And than you come up with a new idea and want to implement it and bring in the new dlc. Well that new dlc becomes the most desired choice because people will start to realize that the newer stuff tends to work better. And than older characters get forgotten and new ones are prioritized. And when they go back to an old part of the game they decide if its work fixing or putting off. There could be lots of reasons why Legion was made the way it was. It's almost like the just wanted this fast character that was almost supposed to blend in with the other survivors and not be noticed at first. Which would've been a cool concept. But all in all Gotta put yourself in BHVR's shoes cause they got a lot on their plate. They have all these major tittle characters that they have to fit into this game for flavor and making their own unique characters is just as hard. I wouldn't be surprised but I'd hope that they take some time to rework some of the current characters instead of shelling out more toons.

not sure who the killer could be though

Yeah I mean I could see her being a skin. Could almost see her being the killer in a way since she becomes more of a threat to Isaac and his mind than helpful.

Dead Space is one of my dream chapters, I so badly want to play as Isaac in his armor or the Ubermorph as the killer. The perks you thought up are super cool too

Here are my ideas for possible perks too.

    RESIST THE INFLUENCE

Your experience with powerful forces has given you the ability to keep a level head under dire circumstances.

Begin the trial with 1 token up to a maximum of 2/3/4. Tokens can be gained by cleansing totems.

Whenever you would be affected by a Hex, instead consume 1 token.

    STASIS

Advanced technology allows for creative strategies to deal with threats.

Press and hold the Active Ability Button for 2 seconds while standing within 4m of the killer to slow their Picking-up, Dropping, Pallet breaking, Breakable-Wall breaking, Generator damaging, and Vaulting speeds by 40% for 20 seconds.

Stasis has a cooldown of 100/80/60 seconds.

    COMBAT PROWESS

You're no stranger to combat and are willing to fight back with the odds against you.

Press the Active Ability Button while walking to throw a punch directly in front of you, stunning the killer for 2.5 seconds if hit.

Combat Prowess causes the Exhausted status effect and causes breathing and grunts of pain to be louder for 60/50/40 seconds.

I am very impressed with these! Resist the influence might be my favorite because he is always fighting off the markers influence and has such mental strength and resilience. I could actually see that being a great perk. It would go well with searching out totems builds and would be very nice. Even if you just get 1 totem cleansed you could be immune to say NOED or ruin. But could be a little rigged would need to be balanced because you can't just make someone immune to hexes completely in the game. You can create a resilience for sure! So maybe the token is consumed and you're free of that hex for 4 seconds. Cause if I were to do all 5 totems hypothetically I could be immune to Noed for 20 seconds which is a decent amount of time to be immune. So for each second consider the max stacks. And you said up to 4 tokens I would make it up to 5 since that's how many totems there are. And only thing I see with a Hex like ruin is it keeps working. Ruin doesn't affect players it affects generators. So Ruin would be except. So I would say this would be a powerful perk against Hexes that directly affect your character.

Wow yeah I like those ideas. Really glad to see people engaging in this idea! <3. The stasis was something I was thinking about too but wasn't sure how it could be implemented. I could see it having a cooldown especially if it slows down 40% for 20 seconds. I could even see it being a token ability too. Since in a way Isaac always had a certain amount of uses with stasis until he recharged it. I could see 40% for 2 seconds tbh. 20 seconds would be a very very long time to slow down a killer. And would still need a cooldown or number of charges. Or both. In this game it always comes down to every second that counts right? I could see this being used in huge key plays. And depends on what actions you can slow him for. If it's just the ones you listed than I would give it a balanced cooldown and a slow for no more than 3 seconds. Play around with it for sure :)

I like Combat Prowess too. I feel like Isaac's last ditch effort to swing at a necromorph was staple for him. Even though you can hardly get away with it lol xD. Would need a significant cooldown or even be a 1 time use even. It would be more like a who presses their ability first. I could see myself waiting around a corner to stun the killer for 2.5 seconds and getting away. It would almost be a newer better version of decisive strike in a way but both perks still are useful at that point. Balance again is always key.

  • @MojoTheFabulous said:

I'll take Isaac but only if he's in the suit from the first game as his default outfit. Love the look of it and seeing it prestiged would be very interesting.

Yeah I love his first outfit from 1st game. But for the theme of the game I don't see them putting survivors in suits or armors. Even though that's what I would want. So his civilian outfit from Deadspace 3 would probably be what we see. Prestige would be suit from 1st one without helmet.

Yeah, they're good! "Not This Time" could perhaps be a one-time-only activation perk, as opposed to having a cooldown, but "I'll Handle This" sounds like a great equalizer to a very specific situation, especially if it also includes dcing.

They are situational, but in those situations they are pretty devastating. "Not This Time" has potential to be up there as a quite powerful perk, come to think of it!

Wow thanks for the feedback :) Yeah they're situational and I kind of thought about Not this being a one time use because if it were down to two survivors left and they both had this perk with Burrowed time I could see it be abused a little bit. But I could a one time use killing the perk too much. A cooldown might be a better choice? Yeah I'll handle this I really like too cause I could see someone getting tunneling or dc/ing right off the bat when only 1 or 0 gens are done and the others could get a 60 second boost to knock out a generator or 2. Just a way to punish tunneling cause reasons lol xD But more so for Dc players or players who just jack around.

  • @Marc_go_solo said:

I like the "Whatever It Takes" perk. That could give killers some serious paranoia, not knowing what to watch for when down to one survivor.

Could another perk idea be based on the Dead Space lore of dismembering limbs, and have a perk that has a long cooldown or can be only used a set amount of time, but a gen can be rigged so when a killer kicks it, the regression is more but the killer receives a speed penalty for a set period of time?

Ya I really liked the idea of Whatever it takes because it'll give the last survivor a little edge and an extra option at escape besides the hatch and trying to finish 1 more generator and than opening the gate. And ya the limb dismemberment was such a huge part of dead space I was trying to think if Isaac would set up a trap or rig something to impair the killer in some way but wasn't sure if people would like the idea of slowing down killers when they already have a hard time getting loopers lol. But I do like that idea a lot! xD What're thoughts on the other two perks? I know they're very situational but can pay off big if they do. The person using these perks are actually all situational so would require a little bit more of a reserved gameplay. Which is something Isaac Clarke would do. He never just runs into a room unprepared. He is always thinking ahead and is just a beast!

It's the survivor waits I can't stand especially while in a party... Sometime my friends and I wait 10 minutes or longer to get into a match. Oh okay Thank you ,I haven't purchased Trickster yet ,but I'm going to when ,I get paid .

It's funny I haven't seen one person talk about it or run No Way Out ,but I seriously need a perk like that.

Ya I have actually been researching DBD day in and Day out while at work lol. So even though I just started playing DBD since the 4th anniversary event I have learned some things pretty quickly. I like the idea of the end game build too.

  • No way out is a trickster perk yes. And blood warden is a Nightmare perk. There's a build to use both of these perks also along with Remember me which is also a nightmare perk. It's kind of a meme build but I'm currently trying to go for it. Of course any killer can do that build of course.

  • It's arguably already the best killer perk in the game I doubt they will buff it. There are plenty of other under powered perks that need attention.

  • @TheStabbiNAngeL said:

How how about you make a perk that block's the exits for 10 seconds ,since survivors attend to just troll the killer at the end of the game. It's pretty unfair considering how fast gens get done and toxic survivors like to just sit and t-bagg you and I'm talking about the threshold when the door is open, if there injured why do they get that privilege why do they get a free taunt when all the did was run the killer for three minutes mind you have gotten two or three hooks in that time so the perk should activate at least on 4 or 5 hooks, and block's the threshold for 10 seconds on a basic attack.

    Kind of already have this!

    No Way out

After hooking a Survivor for the first time, No Way Out gains a token. When the last generator is repaired, The Entity blocks both exit gate switches for 10 seconds, plus an additional 4 seconds for each token in your possession.

    And...

    BLOOD WARDEN

As soon as at least one Exit Gate

     is opened, Blood Warden activates.

    • The Auras
    •  of Survivors standing within the Exit-Gate area are revealed to you.

Once per Trial, hooking a Survivor while Blood Warden is active calls upon The Entity

to block the exits for all Survivors for 30/40/60 seconds.

ill try to make it as short as possible:

Trickster is a Deathslinger in much worse.

they have the exact same downsides to their power (= they suck at everything other than chase), their power covers the exact same aspect (= chase), but Trickster is much worse at chasing than Deathslinger due to him having to hit 8 shots (that take the same effort as a Deathslinger shot to hit) while Deathslinger only needs to hit one.

in short, there isnt really a reason for Trickster to exist when we have Deathslinger.

even if you cant aim and need help with that, just equip reloadspeed + missed shot recovery speed add ons on Deathslinger and you got a similar effect.

Ya I will admit I tried playing him again this morning for the second time and noticed trying to get those 8 hits with the knife to be a pain. I think if they just permanently stacked he would be a completive killer. So what I am saying is if you hit a survivor with X amount of knives it should stay counted on them until you hit them for 8. And even than you could still argue that huntress and death slinger are still better. Ya trying to hit someone 8 times as opposed to once is a big difference. They should make it that the knives slow the survivor down as well. SO not only should they stack and keep the hit counter on until either they're downed or healed but it should slow them by a percentage based off of the number of hits. Than I think he would be at least a B tier killer or maybe higher.

Another thing to note is his perks are actually awesome. But once you unlock all of them as teachable perks they'll get used on another killer.

  • @glitchboi said:

Definitely a mediocre killer compared to others, but nowhere near as bad as people make him out to be. He's a god in low-wall loops and okay at dealing with long-range distances.

"Other killers can do what Trickster can do, but better."

That is somewhat true, but Trickster still has a lot more in comparison to killers such as Trapper, Myers, and Pig.

It's too bad Trapper is downed so much lol. I'm not sure where people are saying Myers is bad because he can actually be pretty deadly. The pig is a favorite of mine as I just love the saw movies and I love the bear traps. Though I can see Pig getting a buff soon. I got to rank 11 or 10 last month with Pig and just couldn't stop loopers at all. Pig does feel slow and lacking but I think it's just speed that is off for pig.

  • I think he is a very fun killer to play as. I just played him for the first time this morning and killed all 4 survivors as a lvl 1 trickster. My killer rank is 13 or 14 and there were a couple of single digit ranked survivors on other team and I still got them all with just 1 perk. But that was just 1 game lol xD Umm I am going to go home and play him more tonight and I kind of have a few build ideas for him that I think will make him competitive. I actually tried the huntress and the one thing I didn't like was how often I felt like I ran out of hatchets or missed with them. With the trickster I don't stress too much about missing a knife here and there so I actually play a little calmer with his ability. Every miss with the huntress stressed me out lol xD

Excellent post. Charge the userbase out the arse and then have them do free work for you when they're running out of ideas.

"Great idea playerbase we charge every 90 days on top of huge amounts of overpriced skins. We'll take your idea and charge you for it!! :)"

I can see why you would feel this way. But it is a simple and very effective business strategy. Getting your clients feedback is key and getting fresh ideas from your player base is amazing! And people who want to keep their ideas for themselves are free to not share. W

ho knows the product just as much as the person making it? The person using it! Now of course if I was the developers of DBD and saw someone post a great idea I would make sure to praise them for it and even offer them a unique in game skin for example or any type of reward for the great idea. I would even go far enough as to scout them out if they continuously were exceptional with their creativity and look into possibly having an interview with this client.

Unfortunately and I'm not saying this about DBD but there are many companies out there that don't praise there fan base enough so again I can see why you would say this. But it's fun to just kick the can around with everyone here and bounce around ideas and hope we see something a customer suggested get put into the game :)
