So when killers whine about the same freaking thing for months and years is fine, but survivors aren't allowed to?
"wahaaaaa keys are so op"
"wahaaaaa DS is so op"
"wahaaaaa whatever perk I don't like is so op"
"wahaaaaa this map is so op"
Moreover, killers constantly link otz's videos as proof of why something should be nerfed. Survivors do the same thing once to justify Spirit needing a nerf and it's the end of the world. Hypocrisy much?
Also, no one believe you are actually a survivor main. At least not at high ranks where 1 out of 3 games is Spirit. You are probably a killer main afraid you'll lose your busted killer.
You see, the problem is, killers complain about the same things for years. Because they don't get addressed.
-
At least as far as we know. They could surprise us and simply turn the mmr + rank rewards on.

Congratulations, we both agree that's dumb too.
But you won´t see a widescreen monitor nerf or fix or anything in that regard.
Issue with nerfing good killers is, that the devs go full armageddon on them. Just look at Billy. His slight rework changed him from the most balanced killer to a unicorn. No one plays him anymore (outside of dailys).
-
The rank reset rewards are not implemented yet. Currently we don´t know, when we´ll get them.
Bonus bloodpoints can go over the million bloodpoint cap. So don´t worry.

Here, have a reason.
You can't make a meaningful choice against her because she gives you no information, unlike literally every other killer in the game.
Its almost like mindgames against widescreen monitor survivors...

Who is speaking about nerf Wraith, they have to get good. Wraith is balanced killer.
You have one of those threads on the first page.

I’ve never like Wraith because he doesn’t chase survivors normally, he’s hit and run. It’s the same process “cloak, uncloak, free hit, cloak, uncloak, free hit.” He gets free hits due to his super sonic speed, 100 meter lunge, and the fact that he has better invisibility.
He’s is very average. Not amazing. But his gameplay is so monotonous and stale because it’s all the same. Hit and run killers are so damn boring because there are rarely any true chases involved.
Whats bad about hit&run killers?
Why do people always complain about killers that don´t run in circles?

Spirit needs nerf but others good and balanced. I can not imagine anyone will want nerf for them.
Wraith already gets nerf threads.
People will jump unto the next bandwagon once Spirit is nerfed.

We have enough strong killers: Oni, Blight, Freddy, Nurse, Huntress, Spirit, Hag, Wraith...

No one would complain and we can finally start seeing killer variety in higher ranks besides Blight,Nurse,Huntress,Spirit?
It's not like killers don't want to play other killers on high ranks. But it's how unreliable the other killers are.
Even IF they'd nerf Spirit, survivors would just jump onto the next killer to complain about. Just look at Wraith. He was one of the weakest killers for the longest time and now we have tons of nerf threads about him.

As someone closing in on 5 years played gens speeds have never really bothered me.
In the past we had old Ruin to slow down the early game, and nowadays we have a ton of slowdown/regression perks. Some better than others. It's relatively rare to get a 4 man toolbox squad but even when you do you can just spread pressure properly unless you get a ginormous map or you're playing someone like Micheal.
I got a god looper 4 bnp team on ormond not too long ago as Doc, they were calling my bluff at near every red stain mindgame but with smart gameplay and herding I managed to eek out 2 kills and 9 hooks. And that's above the average that BHVr intend for close skill level matches like that anyway, with all the advantages they had. Personally I was exhilirated. I can't stand getting 4K after 4K. I find it boring.
Any team more ogranised then that just isn't common enough to make sweeping survivor nerfs that would screw the 98% of survivors who just play casually or at a mid skill level. As a killer I certianly wouldn't want that. Even teams like that, I play on EU at peak times (everyone says EU is sweatier then NA apparently) and it's incredibly rare to play against them.
I think the main problem is map design and certain killers just not having any antiloop/mobility. Micheal and Legion, for example, have nothing they can use against a good team. Clown has OK anti-loop but jack all else, Trickster is just a significantly worse version of an already strong yet heavily map dependant killer.
That isn't a gen speed problem its a power design problem. Look at Spirit and Nurse. No one could look at those killers and in their right mind say that they prove gen speeds are too fast. With most chases for those killers lasting about 20 seconds for 2 health states.
Its no coincidence, that killers use 2+ gen slowdown perks. They just struggle with the current gen speed. All of them.
In conclusion: all killers should be buffed to nurse and spirit level, instead of changing something about then gen speed.
-
Totem spawns are horrible. I completely stopped using hex perks, because of them. The upcoming patch won´t help with that. Because even IF there was 1 good spot in 10 matches, that spot will be found fast.

I still think the Gen speed idea is terrible. And will actively drive more and more players either away from survivor altogether or swf only. It's by far the most boring aspect of dbd.
The main problem to me is linked map tiles, getting two jungle gyms within sprinting distance, both with safe pallets and a shack nearby (sometimes with its window pointing at a long wall window). They made changes but they made the wrong ones imo, great now we have random rocks in the center or corner of the map, whoop te doo. Or just straight up broken, instant loss tiles like the god bus.
There are some maps where its so bad that a complete moron could insta drop every safe pallet in chase 1 and the game would be half over by the time they're down if its a low tier killer.
Good point. Do you think the current gen speed will retain killers? Because survivors already complain about long queues, while doing everything to keep the matches as short as possible.
Devs need to do something in that regard. Undying helped with the situation. Survivors have more then plenty of tools to deal with totems. Yet, they refused to.

That’s your conclusion to totem tracking perks being useless when the killer doesn’t bring a hex perk?
i think we should wait for more info on that new game mechanic that started as early game collapse and the new Mori/key base rework (if those are not tied together anyway).
just increasing gen times will accomplish nothing more than making surv gameplay even more dull and boring than it already is.
I agree that gen speed won´t solve anything. But its the only thing left, after survivors refused everything else.
At this point i don´t believe we´ll see anything regarding the early game collapse. Because they would have said something during the stream.
-
@Mooks said:

Counterforce is literally useless and only wastes time totem cleansing.. Smallgame as well.
Detecitves Hunch gives also other auras I guess, still not worth it at all safe for totems..
It does not increase survival odds for you or your team if you cleanse totems when the killer doesn’t run any Hex perks, its ‚just‘ points and time you otherwise would use to be productive repairing, healing, saving or running the killer.
Then you would agree that gens speed need to be increased? Because gen speeds are out of control and everything the devs tried so far, either didn´t work (like the increased healing time) or survivors refused it completely until it got nerfed (like undying).
So there isn´t exactly much left to slow the game down, is there? I mean, apart from tunneling and camping.

Could you name some of them?
-
I'm glad that so many people don't see a problem in the amount of totem finding perks/items.
You wouldn't mind if the Undying nerf was reversed, would you?

Has been tested years ago. Survivors abused it by looping the killer around the hook.
In other words, we didn´t get this, because it was to tempting for survivors.

No..? No perk in the game asides from Ruin gives free regression and forces survivors onto side objectives to remove it from the game. Undying keeps it up until it hits the 3v1 and the Tinkerer is just added salt to the wound.
You couldn't get the same results with Corrupt/Pop, Surge/Surveillance, etc.
You could get better results with: Pop + Oppression, Oppression + Lullaby (+ Pop optional), Surge + Mindbreaker, Distressing + Agitation + Starstruck.
Why? Because Ruin does nothing when survivors just hold M1.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:

They'd facecamp one survivor, solos would go for the save and kill their gen progress, then when it's a 3v1 they swing with ruin+Tinkerer because Undying saved their ass, or they're at a 3v1 with 5 gens up. Solos got shafted the worst with this combo and until we get solo buffs we shouldn't have it back.
What you describe isn't fault of the combo. Killer could do it literally every other combo and get the same or even better results.
In my last match I was camped and tunneled hard. No Undying, ruin or tinkerer equipped.

Shadowborn feels good, but it doesn't change the speed of a chase. Sloppy/Bloodhound for tracking i guess? Don't need them if you know how to track properly, also sloppy discourages healing so it's bad to pair it with nurses. Nurses doesn't shorten a chase, it denies it entirely if used properly.
I'll give you the all ears, that's a good perk
The other perks help finding the survivors again, if you lose them. Also, NC is great to get a quick down, when you chase someone else and see the healing aura.
-
On what killer?

@nursewannabe said:

Because you took the score of the screenshots and created a whole narrative in your head to fit the "poor bullied killers" agenda, when I already said what happened in those games.
What perks does nurse need to shorten the chase? Enduring? And with corrupt up, she doesn't need tracking perks, she only needs to find one survivor and the snowball begins already (what tracking do you need on a high mobility killer that has to patrol half of the gens on one of their best realms where to play?)
Nurse Calling, Shadowborn, Bloodhound/Sloppy Butcher, All Ears.
Those perks will shorten the chase significantly on nurse.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2250221#Comment_2250221
Lmao if you think killers didn't bring Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer just to facecamp someone as the solo teammates all leave their gen to travel the map to see they're being camped only to return to a gen that's regressed about 30-40%, only for the survivor to die and then the killer starts to play normally then you've never played solo Survivor when this combo was a thing.
Killers would abuse this combo in a 3v1 and abuse the fact that it only worked on solos.
The perk combo you mention is worthless if the killer camps.
Camping/tunneling killers use other combos.

None of these compensate for the insane pressure it gives. I used it on Blight once, on my first game with him, and I won easily while still experimenting with his power.
What pressure? When each survivor does 1 totem, then there isn´t exaclty a log of pressure around. I remember some matches, where i cleansed 5 hex totems alone. Just because other survivors are unwilling to do something else than gens and running in circles, doesn´t mean that it has to go.
And please don´t tell me, that you base everything on 1 good match.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:

Idk what games you're playing but killers will hard tunnel and camp the baby Meg they down 20 seconds into the game when I'm solo and we've lost the game, and when I play killer (as a no movement speed killer btw) I don't have to resort to tunneling and camping and I still win with more than one gen left 49/50 games.
Ruin/Undying wasn't healthy for the game, it punished solos more than SWF and really didn't help the game. People would sacrifice 2 perk slots for a chance at either winning immidiately (your ruin stays up longer than 4 minutes) or losing immidiately (you lose your ruin within 1 minute 30 seconds).
See my previous message.
Before the Undying nerf, killers didn´t had time to tunnel/camp, because they needed to get value out of their Undying Ruin combo, by constantly switching targets.
Buffing Undying would solve this.
-
@CoalTower said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2250156#Comment_2250156
You forgot the /s
No, actually not.
There are plenty of reasons to buff Undying back to its original state (or even more).
- horrible totem spawns (right now, 3 hex perks can pop within the first minute).
- new totem tracking perks (once the DLC drops, hex perks will have even a shorter lifespan than now)
- gen speed (something needs to be done about the current gen speed. Buffing Undying would be the lesser evil. Because the alternative would be to increase gen times and no one wants that)
- increase in camping/tunnel threads since the Undying nerf (a killer who constantly switches targets to get some value out of Undying Ruin won´t have time to camp/tunnel)

Undying was too good on high-mobility killers and not good enough on lower-mobility killers.
Undying didn't do enough vs SWF teams but would ######### solos so hard you'd think you're at an orgy.
It wasn't healthy for the game and did the opposite to what a perk was supposed to do. It should not return to this game.
You're wrong, son. Undying was very healthy for the game. Because it reduced camping and gave survivors an incentive to do something else than gens.
What we have now, is unhealthy for the game. Because survivors just push gens and killers tunnel/camp in a desperate attempt to slow gens down.
-
@MadLordJack said:
Ruin/Undying is still the best and most consistent slowdown there is, because whether people admit it or no perk combo is even remotely consistent. Undying now even combines with all other Hex perks instead of just Ruin, Haunted Grounds and Retribution. Clearly Undying is fine.
You wrote trash wrong.
Undying is currently one of the worst perks we have.
-
Of course they should reverse the change. They should even keep the stacks. I guarantee you, that no one will complain about the Undying Ruin combo.
-
Someone teabagging after dropping a pallet and then stepping into a trap.
-
Gathered data so far: people like to run in circles and spam CTRL.
-
Wait a second. Bubba had 2 survivors in the basement, camped them and you call him a bad killer without skill?
He had:
- 50% of your team without doing gens
- the other 50% either watch from outside or try to push gens before the others die
Which makes that tactic a pretty solid choice.
-
People found out that they can rank up by holding m1 and getting into a chase during the endgame.
That's why you encounter people that don't belong to red ranks, on those ranks.

It's a gen slowdown build. Something a desperate killer who struggles with the current gen speed would use.
Nothing OP. It's not even something that would help the killer shorten the chase.
-
Have you considered tagging them and asking an actual question?
-
If you think your issues will be solved by seeing the killers ping, then you gonna have a bad time.
From what I've been experiencing, the matchmaking sometimes widens the search area so much, that I get matched with players from a different region.
Everyone having a ping between 120 and 200. While I had a ping of 50.
I heavily doubt that they all used VPN to play with me.

Just push the gen. You only have a 25% chance that you get interrupted. If you see something glow on the way to the next gen, cleanse it.

The load out looks more like a desperate killer who wants to prolong the game to even get a slight chance.
Someone who wants to kill rush, doesn't take 3 gen slowdown perks, but instead tracking perks, or perks that help shorten the chase.

They should probably just be honest with us; it is never going to work. About a year now of gathering data and every field test a bust. It won't work, can't work, because of SWF. No formula works because of the way a SWF interacts and can be built. Think about the different variations.
- Do they average the rating of all the Survivors combined and that is matched with a Killer rating within a certain margin?
- Or should all Survivors match the Killer's rating within a certain margin?
- When people build a SWF with radically different Ratings, #2 above won't work.
- Can the entire MMR be undone simply by someone creating a new account and joining a SWF?
- How would a complex formula possibly work with the Queues. Currently matchmaking takes 2nd to Queues.
- And about that Rating, how the heck is it calculated. Why won't they tell us?
- I mean if it is rated on Kills or Escapes, those numbers are wildly erratic based on farming, disconnects, Rifts, etc.
- Does it take hours into account? If so, wouldn't one member of the team having new hours toss the whole thing in the bin?
- The MMR rating is supposed to be different for different Killers so that implies the only think they can measure is Kills.
- What data, exactly is it gathering. Why won't they tells us? I'm pretty sure after a certain point gathering more data doesn't affect the bell curve much. What could they possibly know about me in two weeks that they didn't know about me six months ago? The collecting data thing is just kind of moot because clearly the data they use doesn't work.
I'm not trying to sound like a Debbie Downer. At this point I'm more of a Pragmatic Pete. It doesn't work. It isn't going to work. You might as well come clean and tell us it isn't going to work so expectations are properly set.
They won´t tell us how the system gathers it data. What it considers good skill. Simply because people would then abuse that knowledge to trick the system into getting easier matches.
The last 24h test worked fine for me. I had fair matches on both sides. The only people that complained were streamers. Which logically have a huge skill difference to everyone else and therefore are getting much harder matches than everyone else.
SWF is breaking the mmr, so i guess they already accounted for it and the game tracks who gets regularly matched with whom. Adapting the mmr accordingly.

Yeah I have no idea what causes it. I was watching I think Scott or Zub recently and it happened to them and he said it was an exploit that apparently can be intentionally done. Luckily I don't see it talked about much so it doesn't seem to be widespread knowledge.
Considering how jank dbd is I wouldn't be surprised if its just a dbd servers quirk.
I hope the auto ban feature will detect those things. They have dedicated servers, they can and should read the logs.
