It happened with pop, it happened with ruin, billy, eruption. They nuke only killer things instead of surv things, ds is now off meta, now, after 6 years. Funny isn't it? It took for them 6 years to Nerf ds, to transform it from a shield to a second chance antitunnel.

and even in that case you can still be hitted by that perk without tunneling (happened to me yesterday when i was using legion). At this point i'm just tired of every 2nd chance perks that survivors have... At this point i would gladly erase from the game all the 2nd chances available for both sides.

dont turn it into another us vs them argument. They nuked survivor perks too. Mettle of man for example was nerfed in under 2 months and it’s #########. Boil over was nerfed in 1 week and it’s not that strong as it was. Decisive strike was nerfed like 5-6 times. Iron Will was nerfed it’s not used anymore.

Should I keep going? Or do you get the point? Maybe they don’t actually just nuke killer perks they do it to survivors too. Eruption was very problematic and needed the nerf.

mettle of man was BS, especially when used by SWF teams, so it gets the more than necessary nerf... now it's a niche perk, but it can still work properly with the right plays. Boil over was nerfed because it was LITERALLY impossible to hook people in certain zones of the map and for that reason survivors abused it (i dare you to find a hook in midwitch or when they went in the "basement" of the badham school for example: even now the hook spawn is so messed up that even without boil over in the match you'll struggle to find a hook... useless to say that SWF utterly worsened the situation). DS was RIGHTFULLY tuned down for a simple reason: in the beginning the stun was of 3 seconds, then they increase the stun to 5 seconds in order to make enduring less effective on the stun, then they nerfed enduring but WITHOUT bringing back the ds stun to 3 seconds, more a fix than a real nerf, but even in the current state is still useful (the real nerf, that was needed, was to cancel it if the survivor start doing certain actions/deactivate it in the endgame, where it was a FREE escape)... Survivor's perks are still perfectly usable even after being "reworked" (the only exceptions to this rule are selfcare and pharmacy who were nuked into the oblivion without a good reason), i can't say the same for the killer's perks (at least recently speaking... pop? nerfed into the ground. ruin? nerfed into the ground. eruption? nerfed into the ground. thanato? same... even corrupt intervention wasn't spared. Sure, even here there are a couple of exceptions like pain resonance, that was tweaked, removing the notification of which gen was regressed or gift of pain, that was slightly buffed by adding a 4% of genspeed penalty on healed survivors already hooked but aside those 2 cases everything was nuked).

P.S: regarding eruption it doesn't needed a nerf, but a COMPLETE rework since that perk was too strong aganist solos but too much weak aganist premades

You are cute if you really think all those things stop tunneling and camping

Did i said that those things stop those tactics? I don't think so... I said indirectly that those tactics aren't viable against decent survivors because they have too many 2nd chances... (aka not doable)

Yeah, the only issue I had with it was the 25 second break it forced survivors to take, since you could do basically nothing.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3342215#Comment_3342215

Doesn't change that DS did not deserve any nerf beyond the EGC change. The 40% stun nerf was one of the dumbest things BHVR's ever done, since that perk was a contributor to game health.

that's your opinion... for me DS is still useful and the nerf was justified... i can understand when you are aganist a good blight (in that case you'll probably won't reach the tile in time), but aside that case you have enough time to gain distance with the other killers

  • @Rudjohns said:

    Just camp and tunnel

There is nothing in the game that stops you from doing that

only basekit BT, off the records, DS, Adrenaline, instaheals, Boon: shadowstep, bodyblocking, reassurance, kinship, 4% kobe from the hook (i would say more 96%) and the map loadouts most of the times generally speaking, but hey, aside those things it's perfectly doable /s

  • Personally i would be more pissed off regarding dead hard left unchanged than the eruption's demise (both perks have a similar problem about being too much effective: the only difference was that Eruption was worthless aganist SWF and overkill for solos while dead hard it's overkill when used by experienced people but weak when used by average survivors and since i'm personally interested to give a bad time only for the 1st ones, you can guess why Eruption wasn't even considered in the slightest in my builds by myself).

Anyway, a break from this game is the BEST thing that you can do, especially when upset. I wish you good luck for your projects👍️

Warhammer servo skulls...so do we get auto drones?

a good Eversor assasin will fit the bill

  • pop was one of the healthiest perks in the game (was an incentive to leave the hook for the killers and being rewarded for a chase ended with a hook), and they nerfed it without a VALID reason (same with Barbecue bp bonus for each different survivor hooked)... With this in mind, do you REALLY think that devs will listen to your complains? Let's be real, not gonna happen. Despite all their claims to bring to the playerbase a better game, the actual version of dbd is a lot less fun than the version that we had in 2019

  • @Firellius said:

    It's DS all over again.

DS is still good if you know how to use it (i said this because now require a bit of knowledge to be useful while before was braindead to use): if you run in a dead zone while you have this perk active nothing will change, but if you run in a zone with tools for keeping the killer busy (pallets, walls, windows) and use DS here, it's a free escape from the killer's grasp and you'll waste the killer's time even more

  • Op has a point: Eruption was changed for it's nature of "wait it out" and being obnoxious to have aganist, they should have changed dead hard too for those instances... Personally speaking i'm tired of seeing that cursed perk everywhere, i just want see it dead (pun intended) once and for all.

  • @ButterFlee13 said:

The people who defend the DH here and state that it is skill, while think Eruption is brainless perk.

Do you think get a survivor down is based on skill of killer and winning mindgame and such. and should killer get some reward of gens regress or not? Because it seems like you are showing biased toward killers who get a survivor down.

People who defend one perk and blame the other are biased, period. Despite i consider myself a killer main i consider myself equal regarding the judgment of some things (mainly because i played survivor too for a good chunk of my total playtime). i still think that both perks need a COMPLETE rework for various reasons, making them completely different from the actual ones.

  • sadly this killer isn't so good as people think. Funny? Maybe, but only if you aren't aganist people who play to win. As for me i'm one of the few people out there that will usually play every killer present in the roster, but recently i stopped to use some of them (nurse cause i found her irritating to say the least, twins due to their gameplay that require to slug in order to be effective and spirit since i don't use headphones)

  • @FMG15 said:

Why are people comparing these two perks this much. And why do people thing that if one side retrieves a nerf the other side needs a nerf as well for compensation? Eruption is far more unhealthy for the game than DH. It's not even close. Atleast with DH you are allowed to play the game for the next 25 seconds.

That's your opinion, not an absolute fact. IMO dead hard is by a long shot much more worse than Eruption (high mmr matches where both sides have more or less the same skill dead hard is EXTREMELY obnoxious and powerful to have aganist, while Eruption is situational). One of the problems of that perk is that will utterly empowered good survivors, making the match miserable when aganist good loopers (you can't punish their eventual mistakes because of it) while the bad ones won't gain much from using that perk (for instance it's more easier wasting the killer's time with a sprint burst or lithe for those people than trying to pull off a timed right dead hard). Eruption has a similar problem but inverse: it won't do absolutely nothing aganist strong survivors but it will be overkill aganist the bad ones (both perks should be changed for those reasons)

  • @NerfedFreddy said:

DH is interactive perk. Good design and high skill floor

Eruption - non-interactive perk. Bad design and low skill floor

    They aren't comparable

LMAO that was a good one.

Eruption IS a interactive perk, even more than dead hard because you have 2 things to do in order to make it works: kicking generators and successfully end chases, dead hard is just a press e while injured in order to get an extra health state plus a burst of speed when timed right... both are annoying to face, but if they'll take a look at eruption (which i don't use btw because i think that this perk is overestimated) then they should DEFINITELY change dead hard into something completely different

  • @survivorsareaplague said:

why is this such a rampant problem in this community? im mainly talking about survivors, but survivors mention that killers are also toxic at times. do most of you just like being that way or are you just competing to see how much fun you can suck out of playing dbd for others?

This is one of the big problems of the game: usually i won't care if i win or lose, especially in a game like dbd, but when i found brats that think to leave the match without any problem after being pricks (both in game and in the endchat) i'll do everything in my power to make the match more unfun as possible (if you don't care about my game experience why should i be worried of yours?). In those cases they should pray that i'm not using bubba in that moment...

  • @DBDVulture said:

Step one: we need a highly skilled killer & survivor player on the dev team.

Step two : the devs need to be willing to nerf the best things in the game such as SWF Nurse and Blight.

Step three : DBD needs innovative ideas to reforge the current meta so that tunneling gens/survivors is not how every game plays out.

step 4: not gonna happen (sadly), it would require too much efforts/time invested for the devs.

let's be real, everyone here has different views and ideas about the game and how to fix certain flawed mechanics, but noone of the things that people ask to be fixed will be adressed properly... Think about it: back in the old days people were complaining about camping and tunneling. Nowdays the issues are still the same, with the problem of certain perks being overused (aka meta builds unchanged)

Mostly why I just stopped playing gens go by to fast, and every time I say something about gens going to fast or Dead hard I get these simps who are like nothing wrong with the game your just bad get gud. I'm so tired of arguing with these players who think dbd is this well balanced game, specially with dead hard. I can't stand the people who think there nothing wrong with dead hard. I literally put it on and it doubles my time in a chase. It practically started the chase all over again, but DBD is balanced right?

you see, i think that genspeed overall is fine par se, the problems are lack of other objectives to do for the survivors (for example they should add a mechanic that after reaching a certain percentage the gen won't regress completely if being kicked/regressed by perks but you have to found a special item that will casually spawn on the map in order to continue the reparations, in that way you'll also keep the survivor's gameplay more dinamic and interactive), all the 2nd chances that survivors have (this is problematic only in high mmr imo where people actually know how to loop well and will last MUCH longer in chases: for example doesn't matter if a survivor will use instaheals, ds, otr, dead hard, etc etc, if the survivor will be an average looper/isn't tryharding by chaining safe loops/will avoid to ABUSE certain loops like the house in the garden of joy map, he/she will be downed in a reasonable time) and the rng/size of the maps that most of the times will screw badly the killer (again garden of joy and the HUGE amount of pallets near each other in every loop, not to mention again the central building of that map; or the houses in haddonfield that are extremely safe and unless you take bamboozle those are literal infinites with certain killers just to made a couple of examples... i could name other maps but i'll stop here because i'll probably wrote an essay). Essencially people will keep blaming killers that tunnel WITHOUT questioning WHY they play in that way (actual mechanics of the game INCENTIVE killers to dispose of a survivor ASAP intead of going for mixed hooks)

Ugh, so I had a long thread written up on this and our cat attempted to eat my keyboard, and I lost it.

    So, short version:

I see quite a lot of survivors, or people who play both roles like myself talk about win rate and escape rate, as if they were the same thing. I know I often think of it the same way. I get camped, or tunneled hard and get killed - but 2 or 3 others escape.

I go 'ugh, well, I lost, tunneling is an auto win for killers rawrglblarglrawrgle' and get annoyed.

Thing is though - we won. Or at least fought it to a draw.

Because the survivor win state cannot be 'I escape'. That's...basically expecting a flawless victory every game.

I wonder if, maybe rather than trying to 'fix' tunneling or camping, we should instead look at ways to reward or I guess compensate the person who has to sacrifice themselves for their team - because, as things stand, the biggest problem to me about being hard camped or tunneled is that it's often an unavoidable depip and a waste of my time, for almost zero BP.

    Thoughts?

don't forget to see things also from the other perspective... as killer main i would gladly avoid tunneling and camping if it wouldn't be necessary most of the times to get results (at my levels i usually found tryharders that won't allow you to play normally or to have perk variety,), but BEhavior must take into the equation also those tactics regarding the statistics of dead/escaping survivors.

  • @FMG15 said:

I see it almost every day. It's either "survivors op, killers can't win anymore" or "killers op, survivor is impossible now". And then they proceed to complain about a certain killer/perk/item/addon or the newest thing to complain about the HUD changes and try to spin it in a way to tell us that one side is too op now because of that one thing they complain about and that survivor/killer is impossible now. They never consider that the issue might be on them and always blame the others. They themselves are always the best in the matches they played, made no mistakes and should have easily won all of those matches if there wasn't that particular thing they put all their blame on. Then they proceed to show us things that don't really matter (like post game results or their playtime) to somehow give us the impression that what they are saying is a fact.

And I don't want to act like there are not any problematic things on both sides I say that very often and clearly. But stop using these things as a scapegoat to hide your lack of skill anc competence in your matches. Is it really that hard to admit when you had a game where you made bad decisions and lost? Sometimes recording and then reviewing gameplay can really help to improve and maybe it can help people admitting when they made mistakes.

Don't get me wrong here: giving your takes on whether something is unbalanced or not and giving solutions is important. But don't use it as an excuse to hide your own mistakes and then act as if one side is impossibe now.

One thing Is complain about stuff that you don't even tried/used like most of the people in this forum did (aka biased toward a side), another one Is complaining about things that you see in every cursed match and are literally gamechanging...

  • btw, only people that will play at low mmr will think that this perk is nerfed... it can easily considered buffed in high mmr where people will use it without troubles (otherwise why the pick rate of that perk is literally unchanged? Now i'm speaking from a personal experience since that perk is ALWAYS present in all my matches)

  • i've a perfect solution... make dead hard like before, but without the short burst of speed and after using it the survivor won't be able to use pallets and windows for 5 seconds (this perk was made with the purpose of dodging an attack, not to have 2nd health states or to obtain more distance from the killer). In that way you'll still keep the nature of the perk intact

  • @LuckyJewel said:

I believe Dead hard is much more balanced than before, but why people still complaining about it? I don't think it needs another nerf. Is it?

dead hard shouldn't be in the game. period.

  • @KingDeathly said:

Hello everyone. I have about 1k hours in DBD, and most of that has been playing survivor. I only recently started being more active playing killer.

I wanted to talk about my experience with DBD lately. Everytime I try, and play survivor I end up getting teammates that don't really do well in chases. Normally I can loop a killer for 1-2 gens on a good day 3 gens, but my teammates can never do the same. I can't even do gens now cause I feel like I have to play with the killer, and carry my team or else we won't get anything done. The new HUD system indeed made a difference, more survivors are doing gens, but it didn't help them in chase, and I still have to sacrifice myself for my team to escape.

So I started playing killer more. Now I'm not as good with chases in killer cause as a survivor your normally the one dictating where to go in the chase so I'm still learning to mind game as a killer, but the problem is when I play killer I actually get the opposite from my survivor games. I get survivors who know what the hell they are doing. I'm talking hyperfocus + prove thyself with green toolboxes with brand new parts. I feel like I just don't have enough time to do chases by the time I complete a chase 2 gens go by. If they bring dead hard the chase last so much longer, and there just not enough time for me to do anything as a killer. It's not like I'm not breaking chases, and causing pressure cause I am, but what's even the point of kicking a gen it barely does anything ,and as soon as I go back into a chase the survivor taps the gen so no regression is even made.

In conclusion lately I find myself playing less, and less of DBD. My matches in both survivor, and killer is just not enjoyable anymore. In the past it didn't feel this way. I don't know if it's just the direction BHVR is taking DBD, but the game just isn't as fun anymore. It feels like ever since the knight DLC the game has just become so much worse lately. I find myself looking for other games, and that's sad cause DBD has always been there for me. It's always been that game I swap back to inbetween other games. I hope something is done to make the game better, cause I just see the game getting worse with each update. I've also noticed a lot more people been making post about how they too don't enjoy the game as much anymore. What is your opinion on DBD? These are my thoughts ,and feelings lately :/

similar to mine, except that i'm a killer main and i found playing survivor as a m1 simulator... Doing gens>looping because the 1st one will grant you the escape, the other will only waste the killer's time (and if your teammates aren't doing gens, it's all worthless efforts), while as killer all my matches are the same: EVERYONE with Dead Hard ("bUt tH1s p3rK w4s n3rF3d 4nD n0w h4s 4 l0w p1cK r4t3!1!"), gens will fly even if you end chases fast (no more than 30 seconds) and you are forced to play in the same way to achieve at least a single kill

  • i stopped to be friendly since my generosity isn't appreciated...

  • @th3syst3m said:

Serious question, I play mostly solo survivor but I play killer regularly. While I admit the HUD is beneficial and there are situations were it definitely helped in some of my matches my win/loss ratio doesn't seem any different. Now when I played killer the other day I played about 20 matches and I noticed no difference in my matches. Are these complaints about survivors being overpowered now real? Hoping for some non biased replies.

my last matches done leave nothing to the imagination: 1 chase 3 gens, another chase, all gens done, doesn't matter how much fast i end the chases, survivors are always faster... This game is literally unplayable right now (mind you i don't use killers like nurse or blight), or at least it's unplayable if you want to play normally... you can still obtain a 2k with some luck (even a 4k if you have noed), but the match itself will be EXTREMELY unfun and you'll do barely any points... Imo people like Otzdarva will show a FAKE reality about this game in their streams (they found always people that for some reason refuse to do gens or are extremely bad overall speaking).

  • @StarLost said:

I think I've seen a total of 1 game where there were 5.

Most of the time, it's either just me or 2 of us.

This is...free BP folks. Why aren't people bringing them?

because most people out there won't play for BP or to chill... They will play to be more annoying as possible and to win (map offerings together with purple oaks offering are common in my lobbies as killer, just like strong addons and map offerings/mori for the killer as survivor. Most of those players, if not all of them, are always toxic brats)

  • @kill4escape4win said:

I'm a old school 1.0.0 veteran killer main and so I have the very old playstyle and so don't tunnel, I go for 12 hooks as much as I can leaving the unhooked 80% of the time, I get the same survivor if they try too hard to bodyblock or run straight at me, that speed boost and endurance is to get away, not waste my time, if you want to waste my time, i'll get a free hook, for me a real win is 12 hooks 4 kills, a win is 4K and a draw is 3, from 2 to 0 is a lost, I don't tunnel because (no bragging) i'm good enough to know how to play and it's not the best way to play the game and for sure not the most fun one.

End game tunneling is fine but during the match no it's not, most killers we have now are most likely from year 3-4 or younger while old old killers are way more rare and they are most likely those that won't tunnel because they have the confidence and the skills to win without requiring such cowardice tactics, this is what I feel about myself, some killers check what the survivors looks like to then change their perks, I have my build I press ready and alt tab. idc what I face, new killers are insecure and want to win 100% and go mega try hard when having fun could be better.

so well, to answer your question, they are insecure and most likely want the salt tears of survivors, but again some survivors are still salty or call the game boring when you get 12 hooks without using eruption so, you can't please everyone.

that's your opinion, but not how the game really works sadly... IF you want play to win there isn't much to do: you have to tunnel because 4 survivors are too much to deal with (killer is 1, survivors are 4, while the killer can chase and hook one of them, by that time survivors will likely have done 3 generators... 1/12 for the killer's goal vs 3/5 for the survivor's goal... pure and simple math). you can't call weak or insecure a killer who do those tactics because they know that those tactics are the most efficient ways of getting results (another thing if you'll limit yourself to say that those tactics are boring and unfun as hell since i doubt that people here will argue that, myself included)

  • @shogoaluni said:

I always play survivor so therefore I have no idea how it is to play killer so I wanted y'all's perspective on tunneling. If you do tunnel, why do you do it? I am not asking out of saltyness, I'm genuinely curious if it is such a needed game strategy. Do you always tunnel, or is there something a survivor does to influence it? If you do not tunnel, why don't you? What do you do instead of tunneling to still have a productive game? I want to understand what's going on inside killer mains minds so it will help me get less frustrated by getting tunneled out some games. I also want your perspective on this type of stuff since I never play killer, i have no idea how it feels to be on the other side so I don't think it's fair to judge until I get some knowledge from the other end.

i suggest you to try to play killer for at least 2/3 months and you'll start to understand it by yourself, trust me. As for me usually i won't tunnel unless certain circumstances happened:

1 toxic survivors (no need to explain here since everyone will probably agreed)

2 gens are too fast (the classic 1 chase = 3 gens done)

3 unhooked survivors that will bodyblock on purpose (especially with the basekit bt)

4 survivors who will finish generators while i'm REALLY close (for instance here i won't be annoyed if they'll complete gens while they are in my TR, i'll be annoyed only if they finish generators while i'm essencially at 4 meter from them). Wanna rush your goal? I can do the same ya know? (just like the killer that will impose to himself a fair gameplay, aka not focusing on killing but rather on chasing everyone equally and giving a fun time for everyone, the survivors should do the same regarding generators... they are free to do whatever they want, but then they shouldn't complain afterwards if the killer will adapt to their gameplay)

5 i see more than 3 items in lobby (usually they'll also bring map offering and broken stuff like styptic agents, anti hemorrage syringe, bnp, etc etc)

6 if they'll bring Circle of Healing and/or Dead hard (heals will be too much fast in the 1st case and survivor that will literally have a 3rd health state)

  • @Desteriaa said:

As a person who enjoys killer a little more than survivor I find it ridiculous that other killer mains are complaining about a perk that was already nerfed. I’ve seen a lot of controversial discourse about this perk

from really big content creators such as otzdarva saying that they shouldn’t have to waste ten seconds waiting it out and that it shouldn’t give a second health state. I just find that to be very hypocritical considering we have so many killer perks that give the exposed status effect aka takes away an health state. Ex: Noed, Starstruck, make your choice, Rancor, and hubris. Eruption stops survivors from doing anything for 25 seconds. Dead hard is one of the only second chance perks survivors have and killers have so many. As a killer who frequently uses it is a second chance perk that have saved me many times in public matches and not survivor perk compares to that.

you forgot a little but crucial detail: all those perks that will give exposed status have valid (and easy) counterplay or are too much situational/gimmick (Noed? Do bones or just wait out for the totem's aura being visible. Starstruck? 30 seconds aren't much time, plus it has cooldown, add the fact that during that time you can easily hide because the killer is busy to carry someone to the hook or you can just went outside from the killer's TR and you will be fine. Make your choice? Decent but you must find the exposed survivor 1st and considering that you must be at 32 meters away in order to activate this perk well... Pretty much is self explanatory why it's an average perk, add also the fact that can be used only on a single survivor for the entire duration of the perk. Rancor will work ONLY in the endgame and ONLY for a single survivor, once all gens are powered: it's literally a meme perk or used to get a mori daily done, outside of those 2 cases you won't see this perk in any normal killer's build. Hubris is just pathetically weak since the exposed effect will last only 20 seconds and require to be stunned by a pallet, meaning that the survivor will also have the possibility to increase the distance gained from the killer. I want remember to you that also those perks will activate ONLY with a basic attack, so good luck to hit someone capable of looping without using your power and being a pure m1). I'm sorry, but dead hard is a lot worse than those perks, especially considering the fact that all 4 survivors could have it in their builds (i would gladly sacrifice ALL those perks if that would help to erase DEFINITELY dead hard from the game)

    • Lethal Pursuer ~ To increase the early game action because I have ADHD and have been obsessing over this perk (thank you BHVR, I love this perk and glad it got buffed).
    • SH: Gift of Pain ~ I only really use this for its synergy with SH: Floods of Rage, the slowdown is nice but is often useless since people dont heal against Legion anymore because of Dead 'Ard.
    • SH: Floods of Rage ~ I just love aura reading perks and SH: Floods of Rage has been another fixation of mine, I use to really hate it but after using it more Ive come to enjoy it a lot, it can especially help when an unhook occurs within a chase. Also it has Synergy with Lethal Pursuer, which is really nice.

But what do yall think? Is this a "super sweaty" build?

I think the DS and DH nerfs made tunnelling a lot easier because before DS got nerfed, if the killer wanted to tunnel somebody they had to take a big gamble; either eat a long DS stun and then have a long chase afterwards or slug them and leave them on the floor.

    Not really.

DH was no more/no less an anti-tunnel tool than it's new incarnation is.

DS - 3 seconds and 5 seconds aren't that different if you use it carefully. Again, I thought this perk was butt now, but it's actually fairly decent. You just need to go down somewhere that will allow you to get to safety in 3 seconds.

Now typically if you're going after someone who was just unhooked, if you hear grunts of pain then you just wait a bit and you're basically guaranteed an instant second stage, unless they have either DH and can time it well or they have DS which I will say is sitll a decent perk since it can allow you to keep a chase going.

    Watch Ayrun's solo survivor streak.

It was batty how strong OTR, DH and DS can be when you layer them.

It is kind of a circular argument though, like what you said about survivor chaining multiple second chance perks is true as mentioned earlier but survivors say "well i run these perks because I get tunnelled by a killer with 4 slowdowns" and... Yeah you see the problem.

    You misunderstand me.

    I wasn't complaining.

The only perk in there that I have a gripe with is DH. I'm fine with people running stacked anti-tunnel stuff.

The people who scare me are the ones who run in a 4man, send you to Gideon or GoJ with some combination of Stakeout, Fogwise, Hyperfocus, PTS, DH and COH on everyone - who'll do gens in about 4-5 minutes maximum and will always know exactly where you are at all times.

Want to know why killers generally tunnel?

They got stomped and told to uninstall by a group like this at some point, and are trying to never repeat the process.

this is what happened last time that i tried to play for the memes with the trapper with padded jaws and nothing else: found a full premade with 2 bnp and 2 instaheal who deactive every trap and make my match miserable... i had again the luck of finding those brats again 1 week later and i was using leatherface... i'll let you imagine how it went (hint: it ended with 3 dc and a kill for how much fun they had)

3 matches in a row now to where the killer gets his hands on me and then refuses to leave the area of the hook. i can watch paint dry i can stare at the clock i can do literally anything and get the same result as i do playing the game in its current state, and unfortunately that leads me to come to the conclusion that until this is fixed i might as well just not play for the time being.

1st of all what you described is camping. 2nd you have perks to counter camping and 3rd i doubt that devs will try to solve it since it's literally impossible to apply mechanics aganist it without being abused by survivors... it's a game mechanic that can't be erased, unless you'll rework the whole concept that the game has (aka NOT GONNA HAPPEN), so at this point you have 3 solutions:

1 become a full killer main

    2 stop playing dbd

3 accept the game for what it is and keep playing it

Maybe, but rather than seeing a map offering 2/3 games, I've only seen one or two a day.

(another reason why map offering should go tbh) games are more fun if the map is random

  • this perk shouldn't even exist in the 1st place imo

  • @RainehDaze said:

People are too busy using event offerings to spam map offerings all the time.

Partially true. I said partially because even when the offering events will grant you more bp, certain people still use those offering just to be more annoying as possible

They planned an entire roadmap, they shared news, they promised and delivered. They made SoloQ much better now with the new HUD that they worked so hard on and they surprised us with Maurice skin and william birkin for blight. Why are you hating on them even though they deliver good patches?

1st of all HATE is a big word... I don't hate, I'm just tired of the double standards that they have and their changes to things that were fine (Selfcare, deathslinger, hillbilly, etc etc), not to mention that they went into politics/NFT and did things that utterly worsened their situation (for example giving for free dbd on epic games store, essentially giving free accounts for cheaters) just to name few things...

So sick of people crying about Dead Hard. It’s beyond a joke now. I don’t even use the stupid perk and even I am getting angry on behalf of the people that do.

DH was nerfed to the ground and killer mains rejoiced. It was every topic on this forum when it happened. The chance of getting it timed perfectly is such a small window and it can so easily be baited.

It’s a skill issue at this point, not an issue with the perk.

Nerfed to the ground lol... If that was the case we woudln't have people that still took this perk... Dead hard was BUFFED actually, not nerfed, because it's even more timewasting than the old version and the reason is quite simple: if in the hands of good survivor old dead hard will help you to reach a pallet or a window in time, extending the chase even further, now not only it will avoid a eventual/potential loss of pallets, but it will also give a speed boost for the survivor (and another health state), making him able to even change loops (so punish you even more), making your efforts to zone someone in area that has few defenses useless. The only killers that won't have issues with dead hard at all are deathslinger and (under certain situations) legion.

  • that's not enough... i don't care at all having shadowborn as basekit, i'd rather take other types of advantage...

TL;DR: Killers got everything they asked for and are failing to realise that none of it was what they wanted.

As killer main, this is not what we wanted (or at least it's not what I WANTED)... my dream was a game where you play the game without the needing of "play optimally" (aka being rewarded properly for doing various chases/doing other things that won't involve pressing m1 on a generator) and effectively deny the most efficient and boring/annoying ways to play (genrush, slugging, bodyblock with endurance on purpose, tunneling, etc etc) and punish toxicity (both in endgame chat and ingame actions such as hitting repeatedly someone on the hook and tbag/flashlight click spam) for both sides through some added mechanics. But obviously BHVR took a wrong road on that matter and now we are stuck in this situation. You know, i found funny the fact that survivors told to killers multiple times to adapt every time that something was nerfed/changed instead of thinking why they were complaining about the nerf/change (look at pop goes to weasel, ruin and bbq for example: people kept defending those perks because they were HEALTHY for the game, incentivizing the killer to go away from the hook and being rewarded for it). Some people are biased i'll give you that, but not all the killer mains want to see survivors nerfed to the ground (same thing for certain survivor mains that i found in my matches)

  • Awful perk... Could be useful for killers without TR, but there are better perks out there to use

That guy plays M1 killers 50% of the time (the other 50% is soloQ survivor) - mostly wraith (but he plays all killers) and is quite famous streamer. If you call him biased, then I have bad news for you. It's you who's biased. There's 0 reason for Scott to hold bias towards one side - he would go against himself.

Guarding 3gen is not hard and having multiple kick perks with eruption makes it almost impossible to finish the game at all - being able to hold 3 gens for 20+mins in a game where seconds matter and where the game swings from survivor sided to killer sided with each passing second is just not OK. Single eruption proc can in some rare cases can slow down gen progression to up to 120,75s. That's more then say deadlock will ever give you. Also having multiple kick gen perks waters down "you have to go to gen" argument/time investment. There's a lot of killers that found out the investment is "so bad", that they are able to abandon chase and go back to gen just to kick it to reset all the progress and do that 20-30 times.

On the other hand as you said DH can make 3rd health state (but that's the best outcome - this can be mindgamed - in most situations quite easily and in one situation it still can be done but it's hard). You can even miss on purpose which will work also against cheaters - loosing measly 6m distance which is much less then from sprint/lithe/balanced/... perks.

To sum up - no. Eruption is by insanely huge degree more impactful then DH. Also Eruption has 0 useful counterplays in soloQ (especially in 3gen situations - and there are maps where 3gens are guaranteed so don't even start with "it's survivors fault" nonsense) which is something totally different to DH where there are millions of different counterplays.

A streamer who will say to people that unbreakable and borrow time basekit are good for the game's health and that camping and tunneling are bad strategies is biased in my book... You can think whatever you want, but that's a fact: tunneling and camping are still the best strategies in the game hands down (you can argue that those tactics are extremely unfun, which I fully agree, but you can't deny their effectiveness). As for eruption it has counterplays: perks like emphaty, fogwise, aftercare, bond, etc etc will help you to know when the killer is going to down someone (plus you have eyes to see what's happening around), but those perks are ignored since they are considered weak and not meta... Anyway we are talking about the best outcome for both perks in this case: eruption if the killer successfully kick a gen and down a survivor and dead hard if a survivor timed well the button e... Solo q has more tools that they should have (perks) to avoid a 3 gen situation (and especially now that the new hud has been implemented), if this happens is only the survivor's fault, period. At high level's play applying pressure through downing survivors is much better than using gen regression perks since those perks are too much situational and they aren't granted (survivors will finish the gen before your arrival in that zone most of the times, so you'll find yourself with a regression build that you won't be able to use... While Downing people will slow them down more under all the aspects)

  • that guy is biased as hell tbh... saying that dead hard is less impactful than eruption is a straight up lie, especially in the case that you are aganist people that know how to loop properly (plus all 4 survivors can use that perk and it doesn't need to do certain actions to do 1st unlike eruption that require to waste time kicking generators AND downing survivors)... thinking that sprint burst is stronger than dead hard is hilarious since sprint burst will gave you only a bit of distance (useful aganist 1shot killers if you are in a exposed zone without pallets and windows), it could be annoying but the effect will end here, while dead hard is on a completely different level:

1 you'll have an extra hit (3 hits instead of 2)

2 you'll have 2 bust of speed anyway (once hitted you'll gain distance like if you were hit while healthy)

3 you can choose whenever to use it unlike the other exhaustion perks which can be activated through certain events/actions

4 you can actually use it for mindgames, gaining even more time from loops

also imo dead hard was mostly BUFFED instead of being nerfed (mind you, i'm talking regarding high mmr, where people won't go down in less than 30 seconds) because unlike the previous one that allowed to reach a pallet or a wndow, the new one will grant you both distance and another health state (in the meantime even with the possibility to avoid to waste pallets), not to mention that before the rework of certain killers and their addons, killers had actually something that caused exhaustion, countering essentially all the exhaustion perks.

Also auto dead hard script users.

And I see you like to see only what you want to see and cherry pick statements. I never once said if people are being toxic it's your fault. Typical victimizing to something I never said. You're whole argument is blaming other people for the playstyles you make the decision to make. That's the problem with this community. You will argue and stay Pig headed blaming the other side for the conscious decisions you choose to make while conveniently victimizing yourself. Stop it, it's embarrassing

lost cause... you just proved my point... well then, i guess that our debate ends here... have a good day/night

I appreciate the advice. Those survivors really made me feel like i truly sucked. I really feel like some of these survivor perks need adjusting, survivors get so many chances to escape the killer, and by the time I catch someone 3 gens pop. I don't understand it v.v

Facts are simple: unless you are a good nurse/blight, you can't do nothing: you can be in only one place at time, if you chase someone, the others will push gens, so 1 chase 3 gens gone is pretty much the norm... Add the fact that you need to find and down people in less than 30/40 seconds (remember also that you need 2 hits to down someone, not to mention exhaustion perks that will utterly worsened the situation and eventual instaheal and styptic agents, plus pallets and windows) in order to keep up the pace with the gen speeds and you have a picture of the game right now

Is nurse clunky? Yes. Is Nurse S tier? Yes. Will a new player looking to dominate as killer pick up nurse regardless of how she feels? Yes.

Nurse has a simply terribly designed power, that will forever be too good or terrible. The devs should rework her entirely (not legion/ghostface reworks, those aren't real reworks just minor buffs and add-ons passes). The excuse that nurse blinks should be basic attacks because she can't m1 is a joke, it's easier to hit people with blinks then it is to pure m1 them. The only reason they won't full rework nurse is because so many people main her and defend her, if the best killer in the game gets nerfed then maybe too many killers will quit. Her skill ceiling isn't even that high, she has the highest skill floor but her ceiling doesn't even touch blights feet. Although you seem quite killer sided from what I have seen, so I am not sure why I am posting this.

People new to the game aren't interested to win... Not in the beginning at least (I still remember when I was a newcomer to the game, my only goal was to having fun, not tryharding like a madman trying to kill at all costs) and even in that circumstance then you should also think about the casual aspect of the game (people who play just for chilling and having fun will consider this killer boring for the reasons stated above... On that point I agree with you: nurse need a complete rework, not just addon pass or slightly modification to her basekit power). For that reason then the strongest items of the survivors should be nerfed to the ground because in the hands of tryharders they are simply too strong to deal with (after all they did the same thing to most killer addons if you think about it)

  • @Ollpro99 said:

I reckon Dbd needs to patch this. The killer doesn't need any advantage in a chase, falling/jumping off a ledge shouldn't slow down a survivor. Just let the chase continue as it was.

    no

  • I don't care, i'm more concerned about more concrete stuff like the health of the game itself. It's silly thinking to those things when you have a game that is becoming less fun after every patch released
