And I run into killers all the time who sit there and waste time hitting me over and over on hook, tunneling the bejesus out of me yet I shrug it off and just say, well, they must be using this game to fill some dark missing void in their life if they take it that seriously, yikes.
People who act toxic want a reaction and attention, I certainly don't give them mine. I just alt tab and do something productive, I also block them and move on. Another thing is, Ibdon't let it ruin who I am, I don't become mean or have less empathy towards others, else I'll end up becoming toxic and a loser, just like them. x.x
Sorry you run into people like that, but since I started ignoring toxic killers who want my attention and tell me I'm a faker and try to mess with me, things are a lot more fun.
This is not how it works irl mate, it shouldn't be otherwise on the internet imo... Try to mock and annoy someone irl... In the end if that guy see that no one is stopping those idiots (for instance in this case it should be the dev's job to punish people that are toxic, but despite even with all the proof that I sent to them certain subjects are still free to play this game, this alone tell us how much they care about it), you'll end up to react to said harassment... As for me I won't NEVER be the 1st to be toxic toward someone (I don't see a reason/the point to be dicks towards someone who is doing nothing to make you angry), but if I see that the thing is only for my side I'll adapt to their conduct and make their match painfully boring/unfun to verse... Think of it as a "actions bring concequences" since I'm tired of seeing double standards...

This tactic is so cheap, every time I carry someone a teammate will stand under the hook so I cant hook the person I’m carrying, when I hit them to get out of the way it always stalls for enough time to let the survivor struggle since I was already looking for a hook beforehand anyways.
Survivors should not be able to disable hooks just by standing under them to prevent you from hooking, it’s to unfair when they are at full health and takes away the one ability that a killer should always have.
you know, there's a perk made exactly for that situation... Mad Grit

I'd like to say the issue is Survivors AND Killers.
This victim mentality, this blaming mentality of saying "its not me, its them," literally doesn't build a community. And if you think Killers can't be toxic or happy, honestly, do you even browse the forms?
Tbh i'm tempted to embrace that kind of mentality, wanna know why? Everytime that i queue as killer (usually with meme addons) i found ALWAYS people with meta stuff (instaheals, styptic agents, brand new parts, etc etc...), abuse of certain "tech" (bugs that people consider features for some reason in order to gain an unintended advantage), abuse perks and basekit stuff out of their context (things as bodyblocking with bt, actively searching the killer for using DS aganist you without being tunneled just to lose more of the killer's time, etc etc), unfun and unhealthy gameplay (tbags after being stunned, being blinded without even having the survivor with the flashlight in your field of view) and mostly MAP OFFERINGS (garden of joy and decimated borgo most of the times)... if there's something that i hate is when people put those offerings since they don't want to just play the game to have fun... they want to win AT ALL COSTS and be toxic toward the killer stroking their victory in your face... this is my daily experience nowdays, a reason why i started to care less about the survivor's fun generally speaking and being less emphatic (add also that all the few killer's perks that were somewhat useful were/are slowly being heavily nerfed and you get the whole picture of why dbd is in this sorry state and it's getting worse after each patch...)

seems u havent faced a decent skull merchant then. she doesnt need to she can expose survivors and run perks like overcharge or call of brine, 3 gens are small plus 2.5% extra per hit to the gen, on top of that run the oblivious addon so u may get closer to survivors without them realizing unless ofc 4 man swf... u cant work exposed because u go down, u cant take risks because u may not make it anywhere if u commit for way too long, on top of that if she manages to down someone in the 3 gen u are gonan suffer way more. only a full premade could potentially break it and it wont be easy at all. so no, its a battle pride in most situations and survivors normally dont have the patience to wait for 45 minutes or more wich is totally normal, i could have played 3 matches with that time, the game doesnt progress, its dumb and needs fixing. id rather go agaisnt 3 blights with ring and comp 33 in a row for quick matches than this snore fest, is the most unpleseant experience u can have in the game
You know that potential energy exist to prevent those situations (don't forget toolboxes), right? You know that if survivors 3gen themselves is only their fault most of the times, right? You know that perks like sprint burst will completely deny her expose effect from the drones right (a killer using that tactic can't afford to waste time in prolonged chases)? You know that you can disable the drones right? Counterplay are various, it's up to you and your team to use them... If they aren't able to think to the various situations that they could went aganist it's not the killer's fault. It's like complaining about a facecamping bubba, everyone know that the best way to deal with it is to do generators and use wisely the perks that you have at your disposal, yet most of the players will try to do the save despite it's technically impossible (unless you have specific perks and are in the last phase of the game) to rescue a survivor camped by bubba

Yeah but then she knows you're there and once she's finished downing the survivor on the other gen she can move on to you
This is especially difficult with 5+ stacks of dying light because now the gens will take over 110 seconds to complete solo, giving her plenty of time, and she doesn't even need to down them, just hit them once to apply something like sloppy butcher so they use up more time healing, don't forget they could be exposed too so that's double the time
Yeah.. if it was so easy then I wouldn't be hitting the 1 hour cap as reliably as I can using SM
if she got so many stacks before survivors find themself in that situation, it means that the survivors were constatly downed by a simple m1 killer... idk what you think about it, but if you can't finish all generators before a simple m1 killer without mobility and antiloop power will do even 3 hooks then the survivors are bad in my book

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3371045#Comment_3371045
But if you aren’t camping how is this perk hurting you?
example: you hooked someone and go elsewhere to kick a generator/chase a survivor/destroying throwed down pallets, the survivors still haven't made the unhook, at this point you come back to the hook to guarantee the 2nd stage since the time for the 2nd phase is almost started, when suddently those guys use the perk. Another example is when someone will loop you on purpose in the zone of the hooked survivor because there's an extremely strong loop near it... both cases reward bad gameplay for the survivors instead of rewarding good play (survivors shouldn't wait so much in order to do a save, especially when the killer is far from the hooked survivor and mostly they should't be able to use perks made specifically for certain situations in order to get away with their bad plays... you know, it reminds me of old decisive strike when survivors could use that perk even if you didn't tunneled anyone and they started to do stuff under your nose...)
-
@Jackal7879 said:
Ok before people say it’s one of the strongest perks in the game which I do agree on some level. The effect is strong but the requirements is to activate it is what drags the perk down I mainly talking about the distance (6m) you basically have to touch the survivor on hook and some killers you can literally go down in front of the hook depending on killer power/add ons and perks.basement it doesn’t even work from upstairs unless it’s the one hook closest to the stairs and if it’s leather face you are pretty much down if you try to get value
the buff should be
can be activated from 12m-15m
and maybe make the effects last 45s
and make it to were you can activate it with hook stages NOT instances
and maybe buff kinship time to 50s and to activate after hook animation scream like Reassurance
if you don’t camp you won’t even feel the effects of this perks and it gives more value for a soloq survivor who wants to bring this perk for a support build and before you say swf can abuse this once again if you don’t camp you won’t notice these perks if you camp at 5/4 gens then you will feel these perks and that’s if they are even in play
That my idea for buffs for Reassurance and perks like Reassurance
absolutely ######### not... it's already annoying when they'll use it aganist you despite you aren't camping, if they ever buff that cursed perk i'll probably went full bubba facecamp as a protest...

You have not went against a 3 gen skull merchant then
there are FAR worse things than a 3 gen skull merchant... that one is annoying, but little by little is doable since the killer can chase only 1 survivor par time... and she can't clone herself to do this for every survivor in game

how curious for me it's the inverse thing: until now i've always escaped despite i'm a solo survivor...

Are you really complain about the weakest killer in the game? Seriously? She's weak af and she's boring to play since her power is passive (the only thing that could be considered interactive about her power is when you place those drones around the map, that's it)

this is becoming more common every rework or new stuff released...

My god they obliterated that map for blight. I could hardly traverse the map, as there is just SO MUCH STUFF just randomly placed.
And that main building… damn near an infinite when you tie all the windows in.
What an awful map.
but remember, for a certain forum user that claim to play both roles it's not true at all that this map has an infinite (i won't say the name but you can guess who is)... honestly this rework is dumb af, the only killer that can still do something is (how curious) the nurse

As we showed previously the kill rates were in the area that we wanted them to be. The recently QoL updates for Survivor - namely the HUD, is being kept a close eye on. If at any point we find that this has caused things to sway in the other direction, we will obviously make adjustments then. However, we did not promise any buffs to killers right now.
i wonder when the devs will learn to balance things not on %killrate but on actual gameplay... they fail everytime (probably on purpose at this point) to see the problems that the game has: i can do a single hook in the entire match but still win/get a draw in the end because they'll play EXTREMELY bad (grab all the survivors for trying to do a save, slug them with noed, winning thanks to blood warden, rancor'ed the obsession and killing another by hooking the catched survivor near my noed, etc etc)... is this fun? not even a bit... was it balanced? around kills surely, around gameplay not a chance...

on the killer side i started as a trapper main because i liked big brain plays. this changed into wraith/legion/doc/blight afterwards because i liked chase builds. recently i have become more of a blight/plague/legion with a lot of knight because it is a more chill experience where i feel more in control.
on the survivor side i am still a loyal ace fan since he was my first p3 adept (him being really quiet while hurt helps as well).
what about the rest of you? anyone you can relate to or that you play because of reasons?
i'm similar to you: ace main from when i started to play the game and regarding killers i WAS a trapper main, all this changed after the ruin rework that shift my mains to oni and deathslinger (pre nerf)... actually i don't have a real main, but when i've only toxic people in my matches i'll switch to bubba and/or nurse... it's quite ironic after all: i'm starting to main my most hated killer in the game due to the toxicity involved in my matches (i'm quite vengeful on that aspect: if you want to annoy me expect concequences of your behavior)
-
i'm not a blight main but this issue isn't present only here: did you saw already the red forest rework? here killers like blight, billy, wesker, trickster and huntress will cry badly due to the map that will COMPLETELY counter their powers...

2.) I'd say there are way more unsafe pallets on Haddonfield than safe one's.
3.) There are no infinites.
4.) There are no infinites.
5.) The map also tends to load up one side with gens and few pallets, so just avoid the middle.
5.1) Ironworks main building isn't really that strong. Maybe if they have CoH, but the map itself has tiles fairly spaced out with some dead zones mixed in.
7.) The Game has a lot of pallets but the fact that it's a TINY map with bad LoS and bad gen spread closes the gap imo.
9.) There are a fair amount of pallets, but most are unsafe and easy to mindgame. It's also indoors with limited LoS, Survivors often don't know exactly where you are.
11.) Midwich has some absolutely awful pallets. There's maybe TWO safe pallets on that entire map.
14.) RPD is a miserable experience but it's incredibly easy to three gen and some of the pallets are ######### awful.
18.) There are still no infinites.
I'm glad that we've covered that you think every map in the game is Survivor-sided lol
where is the part that i said that every map in the game is survivor side? tell me... Don't put words that i never used into my mouth please... regarding infinite maybe i should specify better what i mean... for infinites forgive me if i wasn't clear enough: i don't describe the loops like the old ones where the killer can't reach in any possible way a survivor that will go there, for infinites i mean loops that alone are strong enough to make the killer loose all 5 gens if you aren't completely braindead at looping (even an belove average survivor with a modicum of brain can do this). Obviously you must avoid those places at all costs unless you are hunting the last 2 remaining survivors and/or you can allow yourself to waste time in that way, but those aren't valid reasons to left those places in this awful state, so my points stand still, also for the other points:
2 the main problem as i said aren't pallets, it's fair that survivors have some pallets that are safer than others, the problems are that those usually are always near the strongest loops of this map, once you start chaining those loops it will become a nightmare if you aren't using someone that has a strong antiloop power... the other problem are the houses present in this cursed map
5 "just avoid the middle" you see this is the problem, you can't since survivor can easily split the map in 2 sides and when you are chasing someone off the gens everyone will literally run in that place because they know that here they'll have the upper hand... again, bad maps should be adressed correctly from both sides instead of playing around them
7 the game ISN'T a tiny map since you must consider that it has 2 floors and you can't travel fast between each floor everytime unless you are a nurse
9 fair isn't suited for that map, same regarding unsafe... this map has a lot of safe pallets and the unsafe ones are usually linked with windows. No LoS is applied to killers too if we want to be picky, not to mention that survivors can play around this problem with certain perks (spine chill, alert, fogwise, premonition, etc etc), while the killer has only a single perk that could be helpful regarding this and it's situational since it require that survivors will trigger that perk (i'm all ears)
11 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ay2Mv-UNJmc you are welcome
14 first of all 3 gen happen because survivor allow it, so again it's a bad play for the survivor doing something like that and the unsafe pallets are only the one in the small room near the basement and the one to the left to the exit gate present in the main hall, everything else is safe
I'm glad that we've covered that you think that playing killer is easy generally speaking when those maps have those issues...

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3367037#Comment_3367037
Yep! Absolutely. If anything is unsportsmanlike in this game, its being thrown around by the killer when the match is clearly over just so they can grief and waste your time.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3366966#Comment_3366966
They can. But I didn't. If someone else on my team did I can't do anything about that. Don't take it out on me. I always try to be the model survivor but it isn't easy when you're constantly being treated like the most toxic one.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3366962#Comment_3366962
A better community starts with you, but I guess you don't want that. May they all give you hell before you do the same to them.
considering that we are talking about the dbd community (one of the most toxic communities out there that MAYBE only leauge of legends and overwatch can surpass) then yes, you are asking too much since people on internet won't care (usually, of course there are some exceptions but you can count them on the fingers of your hand) about the other's fun/feelings

@KateMain86 said:
When I'm the last survivor I'll do my best to escape but sometimes the killer finds and downs me first. At that point I don't try to wiggle. I let the killer decide to either hook me or take me to the hatch. Sometimes I get the hatch. Sometimes I get the hook. And sometimes I'll get my time wasted by a total jerk who instead of putting me on a hook decides to lead me on thinking they want me to find the hatch but decided to hook me anyway. I've had far too many matches where the killer will stand still and let me wiggle off just to chase me around and do it again, and again, and again just to then carry me to the hook nearest the hatch so they can hook me and close the hatch after. If you have no intent of letting me escape then don't waste my time making the match go on for far longer than it has to. There is no reason at all for you to be toxic like this. I don't care that I didn't escape. I care that you wasted my time long enough that I could be well into the next match instead of being dragged around by a toxic troll. I'll do absolutely nothing to deserve this from the killer the entire match and then be treated like I was the most toxic survivor ever. Just stop doing this. Its bad for the game. People don't want to deal with this. I wonder often how many survivor mains just close the game out after having something like this happen to them. The game just isn't worth playing when you have to deal with crap like this.
Let me ask you something... Is Fair that you PRETEND that a killer will play like you want (same for Survivors)? He bought the game just like you and he's playing how he want without breaking any rules from the devs (MIND YOU THAT I'M NOT EXCUSING THAT KIND OF BEHAVIOR), so as far as we know only the devs can do something about toxic behavior from both sides... Personally i HATE any kind of toxicity, but you won't resolve anything to ask something like that in the forum... quite the contrary, those kind of people that you don't tolerate will see this thread and they will feel rewarded for their efforts to make you angry about it

almost all of the maps in this game are oversaturated with safe loops(all 3 farm maps/knights map/the game) or are big maps sizes(red forest/springwood/macmillan/crotos)...i feel the only one that actually benefits killers is dead dawg and even that has a busted building
I get excited when the devs say map rework and then realize map rework that still favors survivors even the new sheltered woods remake is adding more loops for survivors
we'll see (i won't consider the size of the map in this instance since everyone know how big certain maps are):
1 Badham (variations included): awful due to certain pallets that are too much safe paired with loops that can be chained easily alongside with 4 strong buildings (shack, the school, the "fake basement" and the house with brekable walls)
2 haddonfiled : few pallets (all of them are safe except for 2) overall but, but it's one of the safest maps in the game due to the houses that can be considered (almost) infinites (bonus: i personally despise that map)
3 swamp (boat): the boat is an infinite, pallets are enough safe and there's a couple of zones that are really annoying to deal with (bonus: i personally despise that map)
3.1 swamp (house): that house is evil incarnate due to the HUGE resources that survivors have to keep you busy (worthless chaing in that zone unless you are aganist potatoes or you are using the nurse), not to mention the other smaller building that aganist 4.4 killers is an infinite, collisions and hitboxes are weird (bonus: i personally despise that map)
4 garden of joy (pain): another map with a building that's an actual infinite, tons of pallets (most of them safe) easily chainable between each other and jungle gyms (bonus: i personally despise that map)
5 macmillan (soffocation pit): the mine it's a strong loop, add also that the centre of the map is a loopfest full of walls and window easily chainable between each other (bonus: i personally despise that map)
5.1 macmillan (ironwork of misery): strong building paired with good amount of pallets and jungle gyms easily chainable
5.2 macmillan (groaning storehouse): same as above
5.3 macmillan (shelter woods): same as above
5.4 macmillan (coal tower): same as above (but at least with less jungle gyms)
6 corn maps (all variants): low visibility paired with safe pallets and certain buildings that are too much safe (nothing new until now)
7 the game: palletown
8 erie of crows: good amount of pallets and windows, but this one is somewhat fair if rng won't screw you badly with double pallets (a pity for the height of certain loops that won't give any chance for ranged killers tho)
9 lery: too much walls, too much windows and too much pallets all together (bonus: i personally despise that map)
10 ormond: the central building is strong and some loops aren't exactly fair
11 midwitch: good and strong amount of pallets that can be chained with windows
12 dead dwag saloon: only 2 zones are really problematic/strong: the saloon itself and the jungle gyms (it can be easily considered a WHOLE and HUGE jungle gym) on the other side of the map
13 autohavens: aside the central buildings that are strong loops and the ones with a bus, the map has a fair amount of jungle gyms
14 raccon city: palletown plus a couple of loops really nasty to deal with with no room for mindgames
15 crotus (asylum): strong central building with many jungle gyms
15.1 crotus (chapel): central building can spawn with an infinite in it, good amount of jungle gyms
16 yamaoka maps: weird collisions, a couple of jungle gyms and good amount of pallets
17 decimated borgo: actually the worst map in the game imo with extremely bad hitboxes, collisions and objects placement (look at the shack for example: it's even more safe due to the objects that will block the killer more easily), tons of pallets, loops and jungle gyms, not to mention the awful colors that this map have (good luck finding pools of blood and scratchmarks here). Bonus: i HATE this map with a burning passion
18 red forest maps (new): too much objects (ranged killers will cry when they'll play in this map, killers like billy, wesker, blight and oni to some degree are heavily hindered), loops were enforced and the main structures still have the same problems as before (the house in the huntress map is still an infinite)
19 HAWKINS: (REDACTED)
this sums up everything
-
there's no skill involved nowdays (or to use better words, things are much easier than once)
-
@Canas said:
The new map actually has an infinite loop, it's on the bottom level of the killer's camp. There's a window connected to a very long L structure which is extremely safe for survivors to abuse. It's absolutely disgusting. No0b3 has actually shown it off in his Skull Merchant video.

"tunneling generators" i think u been watching one to many truetalent videos kid.
"What does a killer get for hooking three different players"......the same thing u get from hooking 1 player! pressure.....
comparing tunneling a gen to tunneling out survivor is pretty silly.
Don't be delusional please, it's a blatant fact that 3 survivors are a lot more manageable than 4 survivors with 3 of them being hooked once (even if you loose some generators in the meantime). it's like saying that survivors have more advantage to do all the generators on the map at the same % of progress than focusing on certain gens in order to get them done quickly and divide the map in 2 sides at the same time in order to make the killer's job more difficult. They are somewhat comparable because both are goals to do for each side, both require to end their goal as fast as you can in order to escape/kill and both will make the other side frustrated (a survivor being camped/tunneled will be probably upset, same when you as a killer see 3 generators go in a single chase despite you did't committed any mistake), the only difference between those 2 goals is that survivors are players, so they'll probably whine whenever they got a bad match/experience they'll be more inclined to insult the killer for doing his job.

Hard disagree on the Map changes, finally there are maps in which you can actually sneak and hide as a Killer. This is a huge bonus.
Not every map is for every Killer and that is alright. Some do better on indoor maps and others not. Perfectly fine.
compare the maps for how they were previously... their "souls" were changed (funny how the huntress map became the best map for countering her uh?). Stealth killers you say? A pity that people can still hide from you with due to certain perks that will gave them informations about your position (it's situational, true, but nevertheless is a valid counterpoint)

Honestly this feels really pointless, but here i am gonna try and give some tips against DH, if other survivors or killers want to add stuff, pls do.
If you just want to complain and say DH is broken, i will guess that there will be other 7 threads on that topic today, so go fill those.
So, some tips:
- Be sure to always remember if the survivor has used other exhaustion perks, this seem obvious, but the amount of killers that play around DH while having clearly seen other exhaustion is kinda incredible
- Know the difference between a lunge and an instant M1 for pallets. Lunging has a longer starting animation, an instant M1 is faster and has a lingering hitbox. So on pallets, you can either, time a lunge to hit after the DH endurance ends or wait out the endurance and do an instant M1, because of the lingering hitbox you have a bigger chance of getting a pallet trade (you get the down and the pallet)
- You don't always need to wait out DH, instant M1s are impossible to react for survivors (if they don't cheat), this means that if you are "sniffing their butts" you are at an enormous advantage, you dictate when you hit and the survivor has to predict, be unpredictable
- Know your surroundings, if the survivor is in a dead zone or an unsafe pallet you don't need to make risky decisions, let them DH, even let them drop the pallet, they are stuck and can't get way from you, risking and getting stunned or DHd just gives the survivor chances to escape when you weren't in any danger if you just played it safe
- Perks like STBL reduce the distance gain from survivors by almost 25% depending on how many stacks you have, you can even get extra stacks by hitting their DH
- Faking attacks with your animations, survivors look for animation tells for timing DHs, doing some animation to fake them can make survivors try to DH earlier. This could be as simple as moving your camera up and down, faking powers like when predicting fake vaults or really desperate measures like lunging but walking backward just to not hit the survivor
In the end DH is a high risk/ high reward perk. The survivor has full control of the perk but you can dictate how advantageous the situation is, knowing when to play it safe or not. A survivor not being able to pull-off their DH means they got down way earlier than they would if they brought another exhaustion perk.
Hope this can help some people, if you have more tips to add or critique, be free to add. Again, if you just want to complain about DH, you have many other threads you can go to
You forgot the only REAL counter for that perk: hitting the unhooked survivor and tunnel him (deep wound = no dead hard)

When arguing with a fool, make sure he isn't doing the same thing. I assure you, I can be quite eloquent when someone gives me something to work with.
If you're used to arguing with conspiracy theorists, maybe you have some bad habits. Because there are very few credible arguments in favor of conspiracy theories and it isn't the brightest people making them.

These are the community cup finals. Literally the only DbD tournament that's officially affiliated with BHVR. And my original point was debunking the old lie that anyone who swings into DH is a bad player. Of course this isn't a good example of DH's actual strength, given that it's restricted in tournaments, but what else am I to do?
If I post a video of a good player losing to DH, people will say they got outplayed so DH is fine. If I post a video of a good player winning against DH, that means Killers can win against it, so DH is also fine.
I tire of these games. I'm over here playing baseball while the people defending DH are playing Calvinball.
I feel you mate, I know what was your point, but you didn't considered the fact that most people over here (not everyone) will defend that cursed perk in every case (you are wasting your breath arguing with people that don't wanna hear reasons)

Try that, I’ll make you lose the match 😁
oh but i don't care about winning in that case, i'll just make sure that you'll die without doing anything potentially fun... hint: it involves bubba...

...Here's two tournament-winning Oni performances where the Oni swung into it. Four times total. Twice with his power, and twice with M1. Yes, in a setting where only one player is allowed to have it. Yes, even after seeing which Survivor has it.

This guy got first place in the DbD community cup. Twice.
So, are you really going to lecture me about how this was clearly a skill issue?
LMAO if those are comp players then i'm aganist cheaters all the time... Please, those survivors were nothing special. You could have done a better example op imo... If we put into the equation that in "tournaments" people are restricted in perks/items selection, this won't reflect at all the current state of the game and the HUGE issue that dead hard is

The Dredge thing is most likely intentional.
As for the other killers, Knight did get his revision, and Wesker doesn’t really need one. Sadako could do with one, but I doubt she’s particularly over- or underperforming according to the stats. As for Twins… they are taking their sweet time. As always, we’ll just have to wait ‘n see…
Bandwidth is a very limited resource, though. They can only do so much at any given time. 2022’s midchapters were particularly eventful, at that, which took priority over killer-specific changes.
dredge could receive some buffs imo, actually he's too weak
knight need map of the realm as basekit in order to make him somewhat viable, otherwise he's awfully bad to use
wesker hmmm... he has more problems regarding maps, his power is fine
sadako is a weaker but faster spirit able to see people while using her power
twins are still unplayable but as you said they are "chilling" on that killer

Many months ago you claimed the mid chapter patches will be used to address newly released killers. That happened maybe twice since announcing it like two years ago.
Why is it that onryo is still heavily addon reliant? Why is knight still incredibly unfun to play as and against? Why is the dredge still incapable of teleporting to an unlocked locker if there is a locked one directly next to it? Why does pyramid head have no good add-ons while pinhead has one of the most busted add-ons ever (engineers fang). Why are killers like demo allowed to be basically hard countered by one perk (dh)? Why has every map that has released the last two years been *incredibly* survivor sided? Hell even survivors don't like the new maps.
It's crazy to me that if BHVR were to just listen to some of the bigger content creators that are sharing our points of view the game would be in a much better state yet they never do.
Why is TWINS STILL BUGGED? You are literally charging money for a broken chapter on Steam.
Shame on you BHVR. Please do better.
i agree with most of the things that you said except for the pinhead's addon (engineer's fang) since it's even weaker than the other addons at his disposal since it will have 2 downsides that kill your chase potential:
1 Increases Gateway Closing time after hitting a healthy Survivor with a Possessed Chain by +0.25 seconds. (meaning that the survivor has more time available to reach a safe spot)
2 instead of the usual 3 chains, only 2 chains will spawn, making your power virtually useless since 2 chains aren't enough to catch someone even at a short distance
i never use this addon cause it's literally trash
-
i HATE those events, maps should be RANDOM and not choosed by people (nowdays maps are easily abusable, especially when SWF exist). Events should be limited to different goals/secondary objectives and boost of bloodpoints by DEFAULT, period.

It's pretty clear that a large part of this community is not happy with the Skull Merchant and the Knight. There are different reasons why many people dislike these 2 killers. For one, neither of them is particularly strong and both have a strength in defending 3 gens. That is something that, I personally think, makes a killer boring and extremely tedious to play against.
Looking back to the killer that came before the Knight, Wesker, we've seen a lot of positive feedback. He had some problems (bugs and hitboxes) but otherwise many players were happy with him. That might have something to do with Wesker being a licensed character but I think more than that his power is interesting and fun for both sides. He has a strong anti-loop power that can be used in creative ways, a secondary power that feels like an actual threat and animations and sound clues that provide just enough information to counter him. Overall Wesker is a good example of a killer that feels strong and fun to play without being 'unfair'. In my opinion this is very fundamental for a 'good killer'.
So what do you think are the qualities that make a good killer, not just in strength but also in terms of how fun they are to play and play against? Which of these qualities do the killers you don't like lack? If you do like the Skull Merchant, what is it that makes her a good killer in your opinion?
Oni is the perfect example of a perfect killer:
1 a power that must be earned but once you will obtain it you are a force to reckon with
2 has various counterplays (ok one of them is a bit boring/braindead by throwing mindlessly pallets in order to deny the killer's power releasing blood orbs, but except this one everything else is fun)
3 give you both lethality and mobility
4 your power will have a limited strength regarding loops (you can eventually catch people more easier in loops but it won't deny the defenses that survivors have at their disposal to use against you like nurse for example)
5 it's satisfying keeping busy the killer until his power will momentarily end

Always the same. I can understand why people like to play this Nurse/Blight-Combination of a killer, but oh boy, its enough.
I dont like to call out "nerf killer XZY", but this guy is an exception. Reduce the distance for the dashes, let a dash-hit only infect no matter if u hit a wall or open field and only when already infected you can hit. Like Nemesis.
This guy is so unbelievable annoying to face, its unreal.
I dont pick him myself because I feel bad for the survivors to face this guy once again, even if he is actually fun to play as. You can say "your fault for not picking him", but I just feel the way I feel. I have problems picking this annoying dude when playing killer because I kinda feel with the survs.
1st of all he isn't a combination of those 2 killers: he can't ignore pallets and windows like nurse can and he can't slide with his dashes on objects (not to mention that he has only 2 tokens unlike the 5 that blight has). Said this he doesn't need any kind of nerfs

I like mori's as much as the next guy as killer I mean but one thing I don't get why do you pick up a survivor bring them all the way to this one spot just to see an animation you've seen countless times I get I might be hypocritical or something but I don't think you moving a survivor from one spot to the other is going to make a difference. Sometimes if I go down I'm in a spot that would make the mori somewhat odd like above a hole how the survivor floating in mid air but then the killer just picks me up brings me to this one spot. But why I seriously want to know why this one spot is special and i know people will say well that way there's nothing blocking the view okay but...you've seen the mori before right on full display nothing blocking it.
because they must find an excuse to make unbrekable basekit...

legion and ghostface weren't reworked, they were tweaked... a rework is something like the old freddy/new freddy (completely changed his power from putting someone to sleep and having wallhack on people that were in the dream world to snares, teleport and fake pallets). Anyway if you really think that they will do something to the twins sooner you are delusional: i want to remember you that they will give priority to stuff that people want to see (and twins weren't exactly well received/appreciated as far as i know at least), so this won't happen until it will be pointed out by the whole community

It is objective fact that the Killer experience is better now then it was many years ago though
Like there's no disputing it, it's a fact.
no it isn't... i'll say only this: i started play in 2019 and once i was one of the killers out there that considered tunneling for unskilled people since i had no problems to play "fair" and did well most of the times... the game seems more fair overall, without BS perks (except ds), items or basekit stuff... now well, if i don't want to being genrushed i must tunnel from the beginning since there's no way to stop survivors to do their objective without playing in a certain way... the game was more fun in the past than now, and it was easier since the various map loadout had only a couple of troublesome spots (infinites), but everything else was FINE more or less (except keys)... if survivors wanted to play with broken stuff such as instaheals (which in those days they were a lot more rare since the bloodweb rework now spawn them like they were brown stuff and encourage to use strong and unfun items/addons all the time) you had valid counters to make them pay for that (old mori that require a single hook before killing someone or the good old instasaw billy), now most of the times the most expensive addons for killers are extremely underwhelming and the ones that are somewhat useful are brown oe yellow (it's sufficient to think that killers like demogorgon, twins or knight have their best addons placed in the brown/yellow section)

“Iron Will is not supposed to make survivors completely silent”.
So all the killer has to do is turn up the volume on their headphones to completely counter this perk. Iron Will is useless now and there’s a good reason that it is rarely used anymore.
i don't know about you, but i won't turn up the volume at extremely high levels in order to hear some injured survivor... my ears are more important that this game...

I'm really not finding this to be the norm.
Gens can go quickly, but quick gens lead to sacrifices in other areas that I can easily capitalize on.
I think what a lot of people are really disliking is the shift towards more macro-heavy gameplay. DBD has slowly shifted away from being a game where you can just sit down and auto-pilot, but still put up a lot of hooks or kills. Same with the Survivor side of things.
It's become more competitive and it's understandable that a lot of people are struggling with that AND that they dislike it.
dbd and competitive can't stay in the same phrase... YOU CAN'T perfectly balance an asymmetrical game, especially when there are so many characters/stuff to put into the equation (in this case killers, perks and items/addons)... out of curiosity, did you play in eu servers? This could be another possible reason regarding the differences that you found in your matches
