In this essay we will be exploring just WHY you are wrong.
DS
Ds+Unbreakable
Ds+Ub+Sg
Adren
DH
BT
Killer perks that are fine getting nerfed
Generator speeds
Keys
Being good at looping
Oh, and let's not forget SWF, which gives you all of these for free:
-Kindred
-Bond
-Object, as long as one person brings it
-An almost garunteed win once the hatch spawns
-Communication allowing you to coordinate rescues, Bodyblocks, Gen rushing
-An extra pair of eyes at pretty much all times
-Knowing who the killer is early
-Can potentially garuntee a survivor sided map
-Map (Item)
-Empathy
-Pretty much counters knock out as a perk, but nobody runs that anyway
-Early knowledge of what perks the killer brings
-Deletion of any and all hex perks the killer brings
-Probably more that I forgot
But I guess those aren't problems and I just need to get good, right?
This is not an essay

Everyone: Screw this event! I hate it, it how dare you BHVR.
Me: OMG theres a Unicorn Charm!

No but, seriously please stop acting like BHVR doesn’t do so much for their players. It’s ridiculous.
I actually like the event, but I get where people are trying to get when they say its bad.
Pros
- 3 new fun event add-ons (personally I liked all of them, once you get the hang out of the blighted compound it is really fun)
- Return of the putrid cankers (or whatever they are called) with rifts related to them. (I know many people did not like that but I am actually enjoying it)
- free shards and BP
Cons
- Update releases absolutely broken
- No way to initially earn cosmetics for free (at least not in an easy way) when previous events had a way to get them with putrid serum
- Devs add a way to earn them... with discounted shards and much later; Then forget people already payed full shard price for them, which enrages the community

Generally speaking lower play rate = higher win rate due to dedicated mains being more represented then the more popular ones.
Remember if a single player is the only player in the world that play killer A and they are the top 1% then killer A going to have an 80%+ Kill Rate. This results in Killer A having a very inaccurate Kill Rate for their actual power due to only one of the best players playing them.
Meanwhile Killer B is played by most people who will be of all ranges making it a better medium.
Killer B has the accurate Average Kill Rate due to average players playing them.
Then you have Plague who is just terrible all around whose dedicated 1% mains can't fix how broken and underpowered she is no matter how hard they try due to Plague being build on a bad foundation(Being entirely reliant on the other team to have most of their power) which skill can't beat.
But then why does my boy demo have such a low kill rate? :(
-
This event is a massive shitfest. I am liking it but holy crap the amount of issues and inconsistencies rising are laughable.

What if I enjoy the game and dont tend to get mad?
-
It has been the same every halloween.
-
I honesly think this game has still much to offer, 3-5 years still. but the life span of the game could be increased with an operation health of sorts.
-
No! The iridescent blight tag is an ultra rare for a reason.
-
Clown and Adam? A surprise for sure but a welcome one.

Personally im kinda disappointed. Thought they would bring back putrid serum but instead we just get generators and hooks that give barely any bloodpoints anyway. Kinda was hoping that ghastly gateau's or some sort of bloodpoint offering would return aswell.
Whats everyone elses thoughts?
Not really dissapointed, I wasnt expecting much. The cosmetics are dope but there is no way I am buying them with real money.
-
I am all for NetEase acquiring behaviour.
-
Please, people, dont buy the rift unless you are sure you will complete it. Otherwise you are most probably wasting your money.

Prologue
I haven't played DBD in a while since I needed a break from it and another game has gotten my interest! Ever since I stopped playing, I kept in touch with the game's development and seen how it progressed!
After seeing some interesting updates, such as the graphics update and perk changes, I think it might be worth while to give this game a try and see where it goes!
Is there anything you'd recommend me doing first? Such as: "Hey, I'd recommend you getting Undying first because it pairs great with Ruin!" 😅
Welcome back. Truth is, the last update has ######### up the game up massively, if you have a potato computer or play on console I would recommend waiting a few weeks before going back
-
Just break the wall lmao.
-
good for you, I am stuck with a macbook lite that can barely run tetris.
Jesus, I ######### hate apple.

He had a better animation during PTB. It looked neat. Right now it's like he'll fall if you try and bait his M2 and turn.
Agreed, this is the only thing that annoys me.

Yeah it was shadownerfed in one of the hotfixes.
I’m 100% serious and I don’t care what damage control the developers come out with. That first week it was a 50\50 between Ruin and Undying.
A lot of people complain, along comes a hotfix and low and behind Undying goes first 99% of the time.
It happened so much that after a 4 day period where Ruin when first in only 2 games I stopped using the combo altogether. It is definitely not random chance. You dont flip a coin 100 times and get Heads 98 times. Thats basically what’s happening here.
Yeah it was shadownerfed in one of the hotfixes.

I dont know man, besides the awful frames I have been having a lot of fun with Pyramid Boy, survivors gain gain an extremely small amount of distance compared to before when you hit them with RoJ, equivalent to 5 stacks of STBFL if my math is correct. I have been ending chases extremely fast thanks to this. If you are missing your RoJ thats on you and your lack of skill with him.
The only difference between old and new PH is that you cant zone brainlessly, and that you get more rewarded for outplaying survivors in guessing games. I consider this an overall buff.
-
@MissKitty95 said:
With the new update released the game is kind of unplayable on ps4 , the frames are so jumpy I don’t no what happened but wow can this kind of be fixed ASAP as that’s kind of a major problem... it’s not jsut me others also are having this issue
First thing I do is play PH and jesus ######### christ frames are awful, stuttering every 5 seconds even when not in a chase

Now that Mindbreaker is in effect the whole game and doesn't stop at 50% gen progress, it's really a solid perk.
If you use your exhaustion perk and the Killer leaves you, you won't recover exhaustion while working on generators. And if you're greeding for a gen and leaving at the last possible second, you won't have your exhaustion perk to bail you out. It's very nice what more can I say?
Agreed, I have been testing it on legion combined with Blood Echo and its basically a guarantee that you will not see a single dead hard, Sprint Burst or any other exhaustion perks more than once if you pressure survivors enough. It is a hard perk to use, but it is really damn solid.
-
I am all for a DBD part 2 with new base code.
-
Here we go again, people will use these statistics when it fits their agenda.
-
Ok now this is epic.
-
This is not a competitive game.

Is it me, or was the "Rights" part of the stream really great? It was great to see so many hot topics, which keep cropping up, addressed with such clarity. It also gives me hope that Filip Ivanovic will be just as focused as I am to bring Tony the Pimp into DBD!
Looking forward to the Blight event!
Anyone else got a link to the stream? I was busy and could not watch it.

I was just mocking him, since he talked about billy now offering a challenge, when billy always offered that when using a skilled playstyle. The irony being him having a picture of pyramid head, which really offers a big challenge with the animation lock hit. Just wanted to see whether he has anything to offer in that regard but that is mostly the case with the people that talk about it, they just talk.
On the bright side, double engravings are still around but I think just for the best billies out there.
I dont have billy videos :(
-
@Pipefish said:
I noticed with the new archive that a new skin for Billy is coming out. But after his rework it seems that no one really touches him anymore. Its rare I ever encounter a Billy as survivor and its a shame. What you all think, you all still play Billy at all ?
I still play him, he now offers a decent level of challenge compared to older billy
I highly recommend LoPro chains, they are a blast to play with.

No offense to all the Myers mains out there but speaking from personal experience, I've only gone against very few Myers at higher ranks and they usually run monitor and infectious but I don't feel as threatened or intimidated when I play against him as much as I feel threatened by oni for example.
His power is relatively easy to dodge, his T1 isn't much help to the killer and he's just a regular M1 killer with no gen slowdown or map mobility (insignificant vault speed is his only plus). If infectious go off, I usually hold W and run to the other side of the map so even if I go down (Myers usually runs out of T3 before he downs me) the other person will be up and healed working on a gen.
His add-ons are what makes him interesting but they require specific conditions. Like really specific ones (I'm looking at you, scratched mirror). It's still fine but just thinking of Myers with his green and under add-ons, he feels underwhelming.
He came out at a time where every killer was weaker and survivors terrible (again, no offense) and I do believe he hasn't been changed much. So is it time to give him a little bit of a buff to get him in line with other killers?
He suffers from severe power creep. A couple of buffs to his stalking and TIII should do the trick.
-
Some are. The hag challenges specifically are and absolute pain in the ass because I dont play her and I dont like her.
-
Dont nerf it, add a totem counter or a totem sound cue.
-
Mindbreaker (killer perk)
All the looping and teabagging is starting to get to your nerves.
You are exhausted for the rest of the match.
Slightly/Moderately/Considerably increases the chances of uninstalling.
-
I never run it, it feels cheap.
-
Yeah, it removes great part of the risk of bringing ruin into the match (at the cost of a perk slot) while also giving your some extra tracking.

Do you have a particular build you run with these perks? I'm interested
I have been getting quite some success with my favorite niche build on legion
forced penance - blood echo - surge - thana
Protection hits are so common on legion, you are basically guaranteed to get value out of it unless you get über smart survivors.
-
Blood Echo and Forced penance on legion
Nuff said, these 2 perks have won me a ton of matches.

Three words... Nurse on Console
Oh god this, I wanted to rip my hair off more than once in the 2 weeks it took me to get her adept, I regret not getting her adept before she got nerfed.
-
-
Because evil devs hate poor good boy, play good killers and nerf them so they can profit from the cosmetic buying experience ruining evil survivor mains.
-
My only advice: Be an intelligent consumer.
-
My guess is its gonna get changed when huntress gets her add-on pass.

I don't think he needs to be as good as spirit or nurse, he is already a pretty high tier killer when played well, because of his amazing map pressure and chase.
His map pressure is godly, but his chase is where he falls short, you need to have good like reflexes and PHD knowledge of the tiles in the game to get full value out of it, and even then I am not sure if it is really worth it.
-
I still feel that his skill ceiling is too high how for how little he offers. He is good if played at max potential but he cant reach the levels a spirit or a nurse can.
-
For me personally, only Mothers dwelling causes my frames to drop, oh, and the intro, it has laughably choppy FPS.
ADS deathslinger, I personally dont have an issue with because i just quickscope
