I've won every game of Chaos Shuffle I've played so far with a 4k.

    Killers used:

    Wraith x2

    Legion x2

    Clown x1

    Nightmare x1

I am very glad to see that they are now top-tier.

    Thanks for the information.

Sorry, but you're not the center of the universe. OP is.

    Checkmate.

  • Side objectives are great. But if they're implemented badly then it's not going to be enjoyable. It's not the side objective itself that's the problem, more that most players can't communicate, so it's much harder to do the side objectives successfully. Not to mention that some killers have in the past had ways to make doing secondary objectives almost impossible, like with Pinhead being able to force endless chain hunts by camping the box.

Also, Xeno isn't hated for the turrets, it's the tail attack that survivors take issue with. Singularity and Pinhead are solo queue stompers, due to the lack of communication. Lastly, Onryo has a convulted power that keeps changing, so casual players can't figure it out and get frustrated with it.

TLDR: Badly designed secondary objectives are not going to be fun. But if they are well implemented then they are a net positive.

not really, most of the time the perk bought you a little time to get a safe save or finish a gen without being consistently pushed off, but that didn’t guarantee you weren’t getting chased of you weren’t doing absolutely nothing, and how just being near others blew your cover and wasted the tokens. If you were doing absolutely nothing I’d argue in great detail how it’s basically a killer perk at that point. You ran it plenty though right? I know I did.

Given that they run a full aura build on Huntress, I can see why they think that Distortion was guilty of war crimes.

  • I think it needed toning down, but BHVR went full karate chop and murdered it. It's one of the few perks that I can find no real use for. Not to mention that OtR makes it somewhat obsolete.

  • You did incredible work in the first film. You deserved a sequel.

Nah, not really. IMO Scratched Mirror is not even good on most Indoor Maps. You dont want The Game or Hawkins with Scratched Mirror, even Midwich is pretty difficult.

And, more important - I am happy when the Build is gone. The community is just too sweaty for it nowadays, most people using Scratched Mirror are just using it to camp with Wallhacks. It is a Meme-Build, but most players want to 4K with it, for them it is not about getting some Jumpscares or a Gengrab here and there, it is about getting a 4K. And this really ruined the build IMO.

    icegif-1379.gif
  • Yeah, it's a shame the playstyle is mostly dead now. I wouldn't mind if the add-on guaranteed a random indoor map or something like that. Just so Jumpscare Myers is still a thing. It wouldn't be that annoying, as you almost never see that build now anyways.

  • You're not getting Shiny Pin basekit, no matter how many times you ask lmao.

Because the devs listen to the majority when making balance decisions, and the majority, the casuals, say that the game is killer sided. That's not fair. For all we know, half those people don't even play killer. They're playing at such a low level, they complain about like Wraith and Freddy and Ghost Face, and how killers use OP perks like stuff that shows aura or applies Hemorrhage. At least us arguing out case, there's a chance the devs will listen to us instead of people who don't know what they're doing. We have to try. If we didn't care about the well-being of the game, we'd have left long ago.

I think most balance changes comes from content creators finding and abusing new combos, that BHVR then sees and then adjusts. I don't think that threads like this move the needle much, or at all.

Especially seeing as nobody makes feedback threads for the devs to read. They just make general threads to vent and complain in.

Even the killer side needs hope. The few voices that are not afraid to speak out about the problems that accompany the killer. In an era of darkness, when any killer opinion will be downvoted on the forum by the surviving side. These few messages show the killers forced to hide that in a world of injustice there are still pockets of resistance ready to fight for the rights of killers…

Good luck saving Gotham. The city needs you.

  • It's a shame that BHVR wasn't able to calibrate the rubberband mechanic for gen speeds very well when they added it to 2v8. Hopefully they haven't thrown it out after one failure. I feel like it could benefit both sides if it is implemented well.

  • Here's my thought, what's the point of debating it? What do you achieve? Seems like a complete waste of time to me.

  • I'd prefer she got some new mechanic that fits her character, instead of something that other characters already have, being bolted onto her kit. Killers should be as distinct from one another as possible.

  • Isn't the only announced change the ability for survivors to surrender when all four are slugged? I don't think that's gonna affect your pressure tools.

  • I hope someone posts a screenshot of the disembodied head on the stairs in Midwich. That glitch was so funny.

  • I'd rather the survivor who activates an invocation, just lose a hook state, instead of being broken for the rest of the match. Seems like a better trade off.

The second one (I don't remember it's name) needs a rework though. As it straight up doesn't work, due to how crows function.

When comparing streaks like this, it's important to remember that it's also just easier to schedule playing killer alone vs getting 3 other ppl together. Its very likely the ppl doing the killer streaks were also just playing more games in general than the ppl trying to get the same 4 man team together. Anyone who's ever tried to schedule a game of dungeons and dragons knows the struggle of getting a party to show up, lol.

The scheduling thing is true. But survivor is always going to be the more unstable role, due to the fact that the killer plays alone, and survivors have to work together to win. You can find consistency playing killer, that just isn't feasible for survivors. Even players on coms make mistakes and screw over their teammates sometimes. That's just part of playing as a team.

I think that's why the game feels bad for survivors much of the time. The old BS we used to have helped compensate for how bad the average survivor experience is. Now that the game is more balanced at higher levels, the average survivor experience feels kind of crap as a result.

  • I was watching a streamer earlier, and they had a few matches in a row where they had a teammate go next at five gens. They also went next after the first survivor was dead. Shortly after, they questioned whether the new system would punish them for not wanting to play through a three vs one at five gens.

Thinking about it, I don't know how I feel about the game forcing survivors to play through a match in those circumstances. If a survivor is dead at five gens, the entire match is ruined for the remaining survivors. Tossing some free BP at them isn't going to be enough to make that experience worth playing through.

I think if a survivor goes next at five gens, everyone else in the match should be able to just leave without being punished.

Your suggestions are with the best intentions but as usual killer mains will down vote and dislike anything that makes the killer struggle a little more for their 4k win streak.

Fortunately we have you, our valiant Eeyore. Patrolling the forum, ensuring that nobody has any expectations of having a decent discussion 🤣

  • OP is technically correct. Nobody's complaining about the "deep hand" mechanic. Which is understandable, as it sounds quite nice. Like an aromatherapy massage or something.

  • Sorry to hear that you got slugged whilst taking a dump.

    Get well soon.

  • "This game is killer sided enough as it is as every non-biased player knows".

Why bother opening a discussion, in the General Discussion section, if you're going to write off anyone who disagrees with you? Let's be real, you don't sound unbiased. You sound pretty jaded to be honest.

As far as BHVR choosing to make the game unplayable for surviviors, then coming back to balance it out later on, that's just silly. The devs are very much aware of how petty and tribal the community is. Any time they make a positive change for one side, they include something for the other side. As they know that people will start spamming "WhAt AbOuT mY SiDe?!" threads otherwise.

  • Sounds like a great road map. BHVR is dealing with the two worst parts of the game, being bled out for four minutes, and survivors hiding till the server craps out. Not to mention the idle crows will remove collision, which removes another griefing tool.

This is a great start. I hope the devs are able to bring some more stability to the game's code whilst making all these changes.

  • I'd hate to have a bright red, pulsating light, stuck on the screen for the entire match. It would just annoy me. Glad it's here for those that need it though.

  • Why are you so comfortable, publically accusing people of theft, based on so little evidence? That's genuinely messed up.

  • Why is this in the feedback section? What are BHVR meant to do with this? lmao

  • People are more motivated by negative experiences than they are positive ones. The forums makes it look like everyone is upset, but the players who are having a good time are busy playing the game. So they're not here to balance out all the complaints.

Glad you are having a good time.

  • It takes ten minutes, tops. You'd think that a community of such bitter, anti-social players, would want to get other people banned for their transgressions. It takes longer to come on here and unload a pile of nonsense, than it does to report the butthole and continue with your night.

Is that just for cheating or in general?

(That does seem like A LOT of work for just a report. You would think the ingame report feature would be sufficient?)

I guess that is why I am confused. Sorry.

That's for anything that breaks the ToS. Hacking, exploiting certain glitches, in-game chat harassment, killers bodying survivors in a corner, ect.

BHVR doesn't seem to have game footage on their end, only numbers. So they need you to give them the footage. It's not ideal, but it's worth doing to clear out the most toxic garbage in the community.

It's not very tedious to do. The PS5 auto records the footage, you crop it and upload it. Then fill in one short form, add a link to the unlisted video and it's done. It's a pretty smooth process. I've only had to do it once since getting my PS5, and it was quick and easy. I even got a notification when I opened the game after a few days, confirming BHVR had acted on the footage I had shared.

    It's definitely worth doing.

  • This is why you don't post threads directly after losing a match. You end up leaving the written equivalent of a meltdown, and refuse to use paragraphs.

  • Yes. Report them in-game, record the gameplay, and upload it to YT. File a ticket on here with the relevant info and link the YT video.

  • PH doesn't get to activate any hook perks (like Pop) when using a cage, and in exchange, survivor hook perks (like DH) don't activate either.

It's not a bug, that's how it's meant to function.

  • What's with all the nihilism over a computer game? If a game makes you this bitter, then sorry to say it, but you need to go work on yourself. Go find something that's actually worthwhile in life to invest your time in. Maybe then a game won't cause you to spiral this bad.

You won't be able to isolate this kind of attitude to just the game, it will infect your entire personality. Feel free to embrace it, but don't start complaining when you end up as a friendless, miserable sod. Nobody wants to be around someone with such a lousy attitude.

  • Add-ons are there for variety. Why should scratch mirror get removed just because survivor items are weaker than they used to be. It makes no sense.

  • Doctor's power is designed to exploit players with sensory problems. First he was risking the well being of players with epilepsy, and now he just makes matches miserable for players who can't handle a constant barrage of noise being spammed into their ears.

Yes I have just faced Doctor three times in a row. Why do you ask?

  • The Dublin server is a nice addition. My ping has returned to fourty, instead of being at sixty constantly. Fourty is double what I get in other games, but it's still much better than it was.

I've barely played over the last year, but I might get back into the game now.

  • You can't fix 2v8 queue times. Survivors don't want to play in a mode where they get double teamed by killers. Even if they survive and escape, it's boring, as the only element of the game where survivors have skill expression is gone.

    Scotts video?

Saw that too - agreed. We could need some fixes.

Might also be Hens' video. That went up today I believe.

  • Edit: I misread the post. I thought it applied thirty seconds of a deafening ringing sound lmao.

    I mean, it could work.

  • Have fun with killers standing next to the hook, blocking the unlock prompt, or blocking the basement stairs by standing in the middle and going AFK. Not to mention getting insta-killed on first down from the old mori system.

If survivors can't handle the current game, there's no way they'll enjoy the original version.

  • I'd prefer more radical changes to boons. Something like the boon effects being map wide, but having some sort of system to limit their use. Like tokens, cooldowns, or something else to balance them out.

  • @Yoshirama said:

This will make slugging for 4K even easier.

I find funny how people want to punish survivors for hiding, but stuffs like tunneling, camping and slugging, something that has been a problem since release is untouched because "is a game mechanic"

I've made several posts saying that slugging needs to be fixed,. At least look at what I've said prior, before accusing me only complaining about one side's problems.

    @alpha5 said:

This would force the only deathhook survivor to go near a 3gen when they don't have to.

Yeah, as I said, it's just a rough idea for BHVR to consider and perhaps mold into something that could be useful. I'm not going to spends hours fine tuning a system that BHVR will likely never implement. I'm not getting paid.

  • Correct. These changes will not deter rat behaviour. It just ensures that the perk is strong when it's not needed (4-man out), and weak when it's actually needed (multiple survivors are dead).

  • I just want the town from the original SH2, along with the intensely thick fog.

  • The game's spaghetti code is so bad, that many small changes are impossible to implement, or take years to do. That's why seeing your teammates' perks before a match has not been added. The devs likely tried, and it broke the entire game.

  • SWF doesn't break the game, it makes it balanced. Solo queue teams will beat themselves. The killer barely needs to do anything sometimes.

Hello! I’m not the original poster but saw your question and I wanted to possibly discuss an idea for slugging with you. I want to preface by saying I am not of the opinion that slugging should be eradicated. I believe it needs to exist because it serves as a counter. Slugging is sometimes necessary when flashlights or sabo is in play. It’s a useful and important tool, but in my opinion just like any other tool in the game, it can be “abused” so to speak.

I think most people that want to discuss possible changes to slugging in good faith come to an agreement that the kind of slugging that’s problematic is full team slugs with intention of bleeding out. I have a suggestion that I think would make slugging like this still possible but more risky, and it doesn’t involve a base-kit UB. Making the slug proximity based.

For example, the Anti-Face Camp, it’s still possible to camp with it only you can’t blatantly be in the face, and the closer you get to the hooked survivor the faster the bar speeds up, and if other survivors are in proximity that bar progresses much slower. What if we take that same concept and put it to slugs (only reverse)? When a killer slugs a survivor, there is a radius around the slug. If the killer remains in that radius— nothing changes. This will allow a killer to defend a slug from a potential save. But if the killer leaves that radius of the slugged survivor, the survivors recovery bar speeds up. The farther away the killer gets, the faster the recovery bar speed fills. Now they will still need someone to pick them up at the end, it does not grant an automatic pick up like UB. But it makes for leaving the slug unattended more of a risk and discourages 4team slugging. If all the survivors are in the same place and happen to get slugged, this also doesn’t affect the killer. Because if one slug is near another the recovery bar will proceed as normal with no speed buff, so it is still a punishable mistake.

I believe this allows slugging to still remain as an important counter while discouraging full team slugging. Again, still possible but more risky, and I don’t believe is abusable because the killer is still in control of deciding to leave the slug or not. Much like the Anti-Face Camp, the killers proximity will determine if it ever comes into play, and does not work if another survivor is in the same radius.

    Thoughts?

It's an idea. But it wouldn't fix the issue of four minute bleed outs. Which is the biggest problem. I'd rather have something like basekit UB, and engineer some sort of basekit Blood Favour, so that killers can't slug until bleed out, but they can pick up survivors that have been downed in pallets.

I have no idea how to fine tune a system like that though. That would require a bit more time than I'm prepared to put in theorising. I'm just hoping BHVR has thought of something that I haven't.

If this game was better designed, there wouldn't be any need for a bunch of restrictions.

Urgh, I hate this lazy, generic, ambiguous, buzzword of a line so much. There are reasons why things are the way they are, and so many people throw out this phrase whenever talking about something they don't like to give their point gusto, when in reality there is no tangible assessment of what makes it "bad design".

If the devs added a mechanic that disabled the killer's ability to move for four minutes, would you be in favour of that, even if it was balanced somehow?

No of course not, that's why I have acknowledged the issue of excessive slugging in many threads, including this one. That lack of player agency for survivors when excessively slugging is a problem. However there is a reason why slugging exists, and that is because survivors are meant to scatter when a killer turns up on them, it's to ensure there is an appropriate risk involved when trying for saves. The 4 minute timer is a means of making is LESS efficient to slug the whole team compared to hooking.

The Unbreakable PTB demonstrated this perfectly, where the "risk" of sticking around to save became completely moot by virtue of the fact there was no need to get past the killer to actually pick up a teammate. The risk was drastically reduced because all survivors had to do was stall long enough from safety.

Just because this problem of lack of survivor agency while slugged exists is no reason to nuke the ability to slug completely from orbit. There has to be a risk associated with survivors being caught in pairs and sticking around for saves.

I hear so many people harp on about "bad design", while simultaneously proposing absolutely dire suggestions that keeps putting more and more shackles on the Killer where the "design" is so much much worse.

I made a suggestion to address the lack of player agency for Survivor, while not nuking the Killers agency either. I'm not sure what "win" you're trying to score over me here.

As far as lazy goes, there's only so much time I want to spend on each discussion here. I appreciate that you are happy to offer deep explanations of your perspective, but after I've typed more than two paragraphs, I start regretting my life choices. For you, I will try to briefly lay out what I mean by badly designed.

The game was designed to be a casual experience. But that included being downed and camped to death for many players. A brief moment of gameplay, followed by doing nothing until death. That kind of gameplay loop is fine for highly competitive games, where you have coordiinated squads, who only care about getting the win, but not for casual play.

For survivors, being on hook, or being slugged is terrible gameplay. You can do almost nothing. If the game had been built with survivors having three lives, and hooks didn't exist, that would have likely been much better for the game. But that's not the game we have.

Now, I'm heading back to Pokemon Go.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 24
