It's going to be a complete mess for survivor players, but it's also going to generate a lot of really good clips. So I'm looking forward to it.
-
The Smash Brawl approach? Interesting…
-
I'm looking forward to seeing this "gruesome" killer. I hope it's genuinely unpleasant to look at. I thought that the Unknown would be the first killer that made me feel uncomfortable, but he ended up looking adorable instead.
-
The only problem I find with Larry is that he requires coordination to beat. Which means he absoluetly mauls solo queue teams. I wouldn't want him nerfed, as much as I'd like the devs to find ways to give survivors information to make playing against him less inconsistent when in solo. Although I'm not sure how the devs would achieve that.
-
I think the devs did confirm that they are working on it. I'm looking forward to seeing Victor with a party hat.
-
Playing 2v8 on survivor, feels like playing Fall Guys. It's fun for a few matches when you're wasted and hanging out with friends. But after a few matches, it loses it's charm. I could never play this mode long term.
-
The series is pretty much one massive, ever expanding creepy pasta. People love that stuff.
-
I don't think adding another 10% haste perk is a great idea, seeing as we already have a bunch of haste perks. These activation requirements are also easier than other perks, so stacking it with others might be too easy.
I'd be happy with some number buffs. Faster activation, with a longer linger effect after moving. With a small buff, Insidious could be a fantastic perk to use for mind gaming structures like jungle gyms.
-
Why does everyone assume that loads of new players will turn up for the FNAF release?
Last time I checked, most FNAF fans don't actually play the games. They just watch gameplay on YT lmao.

it's to stop the killer/another survivor from bodyblocking someone in a corner permanently
But, what does that have to do with stopping survivors from hiding till the game craps out? I thought the crows were getting reworked to reveal anyone who was refusing to progress the match. That's what I thought the extreme hiding fix was meant to be.
"With this updated system, we’ve adjusted how the game identifies players who have stopped contributing to a match"Is this referring to the reveal mechanic? As they don't seem to actually say how it works.
-
I don't understand the anti-hiding changes. How does the survivor losing collision help the killer find a survivor that's hiding, whilst they're not contributing to the match? I've read it three times, and I still don't get it.
-
@Nazzzak said:
If you look at Phase 1 of the QOL update, they're looking to address these instances of excessive hiding
I don't know why the devs didn't wait to launch both features at the same time. Launching the abandon feature without the anti-hiding measures feels like a bad idea, seeing as they seem to be built to compliment each other.

MaTiRoSiTy is correct in the days before dedicated servers the killer was the host. It's the same system still used in custom lobbies, what used to be KYF mode.
To OP they always are reluctant to add or re-add in things that guaranteed will lead to lobby dodging, as that worked up the matchmaking badly. It would be nice to have stronger and more numerous servers to best deal with this problem, but I get why players want to not play those high ping trials.
Do you remember that early tournament, where the Nurse player lag switched the survivors, and proceeded to 4K, and still got awarded the win by the tournament organisers? Those were the good old days.
-
Boons are too niche in their use for the killer to have a basekit ability that destroys them. It would make them even weaker than they are now.
Make boons better, then make Shattered Hope basekit. Boons would finally be worth including in a survivor's loadout, and the killer would have a consistent tool for limiting their use.
-
Okay. But if you dodge a SWF lobby, you get an hour penalty. Just to make sure you aren't lobby shopping.
-
I can't stand the colour palette that was chosen for this realm. Darkness is the only solution.
-
I feel like if Kaneki is going to be doing leap > cancel > M1, then there needs to be a bit more counterplay for the survivor. Other killers like Blight, Wesker and Nurse are fine, as survivors generally have some ability to guess where the killer is going to land and path away from that area. When the killer misses, they get slowed down. But with Kaneki, he lands and just 115's into an M1.
I think the ability to cancel mid-leap should stay, as it's skill expression for a character that otherwise wouldn't have all that much. But some more counterplay should be introduced to balance it out.
-
I was wondering why there were no down votes on any of the posts. Then I realized someone ressurected an old thread, and it all made sense.
-
I hate the sound. It's like a low fidelity explosion. A regular notification should not sound that rough. I'm surprised people don't complain about it more often.
-
Hag lives in a swamp.
-
Survivor MMR doesn't even come close to working. You lose a match because the game gave you boiled potatoes for teammates, you lose MMR and get even worse teammates as a reward.
It's like getting sucked into a whirlpool that smells of farts. The deeper you go, the harder it is to swim back out. It also smells worse near the bottom.
-
If someone starts off with a racial slur, I wouldn't advise engaging in debate. Just report them and move on with your day. You won't get a decent response from them, and you will lose brain cells in the process of the interaction.
Also, you aren't meant to post player ID's on the forums to shame people. As much as these people suck, it's against the rules.

That tagline is hilarious 😂
Me in my new Witcher skin:
Reaches in pocket and tosses a coin. That does sound like a cool mechanic, I like that too. Blessing and a curse. You wont be able to keep the Aces away either. They’re gambling addicts! That can be added in like 2v8 or CHAOS SHUFFLE!!!!
What if killers got like a little demon type thing too and it’s like:
Make a deal with the devil😈 can swap out one chaos shuffle perk for a perk of your choosing but then you also get something negative.
“But it’s what you wanted isn’t it?” -the entity
Survivors could also use a demon buddy in Chaos Shuffle, seeing as No Mither exists lmao.

There’s so many things you can do to make perks around those mechanics that change effect and who it favors,on both sides, that can come down to who is more strategic and more prepared. So like not only would survivors be getting something cool but so do killers and who it works for depends on who is bringing what, and just basic strategizing around the mechanic.
Absolutely introduce the mechanic with a full chapter in mind so the new survivor and killer both get sets of perks that revolve around it. Imagine being killer and survivor and you both get a perk called decoy that lets you place something that looks just like a trap or destroyed piece of (I wanna say wall?), and it’s like some road runner type thing where they just run into the wall thinking it’s open, or try to avoid the trap even though there’s not trap there. It’s basically psychological warfare. Then of course things that revolve around those very real(in-game real anyways) mechanics.
Agreed you get this one for free devs. Not that they have to use the idea, but ya know if they’re feeling spicy.
I did think of something. But it wouldn't be as intregal to each match as I'd like a new mechanic to be. But it would be spicy.
The Well of Surprises
"Who the hell climbed into my well and spilt cheetos everywhere?!" - The Onryo.
Survivors interacting with a well can choose one of three randomly selected buffs. Once activated, this effect applies a curse to the survivor. Curses are selected randomly. Both buffs and Curses last for the remainder of the trial, and can stack with each other. Each buff and Curse can be only be selected and applied by each survivor once per match.

yeah a destroy rebuild mechanic could be cool. Like if you make a bad exit somewhere or destroy the wrong thing it’s something the killer can use against you, and like crafting a trap from broken resources you can place down(like MC survival horror) that could backfire if your teammate or yourself run into it instead of the killer , and whoever having to break out of it(something like the same amount of time as a stun or blind to escape, also think like trappers traps, but like a net or cage, or tripped spikes(can slow killer, but would injure survivor if tripped). So like if someone doesn’t know there’s a trap or the killer knows you can herd them into their own trap, or they can bone their self. Or is this crazy talk?
Personally I think this game needs more crazy. This is Dead by Daylight after all. Not Martha's Mediocre Murder Mystery (you can have this one for free devs).

what would you like that’s new mechanically if you were dreaming?
I honestly don't know. It's hard to imagine a new basekit mechanic for survivor. I'd like something that a whole bunch of new perks could be built around. Something that adds a whole new dimension to playing survivor. So it would need to be something that occurs throughout every trial.
Maybe some sort of environmental destruction that could help survivors, but also cause them problems if not used correctly? I genuinely struggle to imagine what the new mechanic could be.
-
I'm glad the devs have acknowledged that survivor gameplay has been neglected for a long time. I'd love something new mechanically, but I'll settle for a new item.

You are correct, but good luck getting the survivor mains here to see that. You will be mass downvoted, just like me.
You might get less down votes if you were less rude to people. Almost every time you comment on game balance, you can't help but insult half the playerbase. Then you complain that people don't seem to like you. It's a self-inflicted injury.
-
We don't need a comp mode. We just need for custom games to be improved, so that players who want a comp experience can have one. There's no need to divide the already limited community into different modes.

How about no.
If you want to balance the stronger killers, then maybe disabling their ability to use aura-reading while in their power would make more sense. We know that Nurse makes very good use of aura-reading perks, so maybe starting there just to test the water could work out. -
Vile and abhorrent behaviour.
For shame.

It's done almost nothing because no other killers are actually efficient enough to be viable across all levels. Nurse and Blight will always be the two best killers no matter how much they get nerfed unless they release one with both map pressure and chase potential. It has nothing to do with Nurse or Blight and everything to do with the other killers simply not being good enough.
We have plenty of killers outside of Nurse and Blight that are viable at higher levels of play. Spirit, Larry, Plague, Dracula, Twins, Wesker, Billy, maybe even Artist, Oni and Pinhead. Kaneki might be on that list too, but it will take time to figure that out.
We can't blame killers being generally weak as the reason for the gap between say Nurse and Spirit. The Spirit is not weak or underpowered. She's extremely lethal. Possibly the most well balanced killer in the game. She and other strong killers like her are not the problem, Nurse and Blight are.

6 perk slot killers would break the game regardless of their power or not. Its such a joke that meyers was even in one of these suggestions as well.
The point I'm making isn't that the devs should necessarily implement that system, but that they should find some other way of tuning Nurse or Blight. Both Nurse and Blight have been severely nerfed over the years, and it has done almost nothing to their position in the game.
Rather than wasting another few years trying to balance them through basekit tweaks, the devs should think of some other way of reducing their effectiveness. If the devs can find some way of limiting the power level of the most overtuned killers, they can also use that system to increase the power level of weaker killers, whatever that system turns out to be.
-
Absolutely yes, good sir/madam.
-
Tweaking Nurse and Blight hasn't really impacted their strength too much. I think the devs should try using a new system to help balance out the cast. Something like reduced or extended perk slots. Killers like Nurse and Blight get two or three, and killers like Trapper and Myers get six or something.
I think it's time the devs try something new to achieve killer balance.

Mystic meg 😂 been years since I heard that name
She was an icon.
RIP Queen 💐
-
You managed to predict that Kaneki, a killer that has the most absurd auto-aim I've ever seen in a game, and Chucky's OG scamper, would get more nerfs? That's some Mystic Meg levels of insight you've got there.
-
The game needs to have a DC penalty to stop every match devolving into a bot-fest. There are many scenarios where continuing to play a match is only frustrating with no redeeming qualities.
Unfortunately, both statements are true. So it's hard to fix. Best bet is to wait for all the QoL changes to come out, and hope that they make matches where things are screwed right out the gate, less common.
-
I think it was a bad idea to add another free hit + mending killer to the game. Legion has been disliked since release because of that, and yet the devs added it again, and decided to crank up the free hits even more.
I don't know why the devs didn't just give him mobility that works for map traversal and anti-loop, and leave it at that. There was no need to add free hits and deep wound to the mix.
-
Seems like a good buff. It would be fun to able to use it mid chase at something like a jungle gym. Right now it's only really good for camping.
-
It's not like Blight hasn't received serious nerfs. It wasn't that long ago that he lost the ability to Hug Tech, and had his best add-ons toned down. Did it make him substantially weaker? Not really. But the nerfs were severe regardless.
-
I never really got the appeal of Chaos Shuffle. The only interesting thing about playing survivor is running different builds, but this mode gives you perks with either no synergy, or sometimes anti-synergy. So you're often just stuck with basekit survivor, which is kind of dull. The creative synergy is where the spice is.
You might get some new, interesting build when playing survivor. But more often than not, you end up with mediocre perks that don't do anything interesting when combined.
-
We don't need the perk as basekit. BHVR should just add Clown and Kate to the base game. They're original and old, so there's no reason they shouldn't be available when people start playing for the first time.
-
The devs keep surprising us with basekit killer improvements, so I'm sure they will give each killer an add-on pass eventually. Hopefully the ones you want aren't at the back of the queue.
-
I always thought it would be fun to have a killer that could leap into the air above the map, and crash into survivors like a meteor. But every time I see something like Space Billy, and most of the map's assets pop out of existence, I'm reminded that it would take some work for the devs to implement.
-
I mean, other game's have millions of players, so it makes sense that they can offer fast matchmaking. Not to mention that other games are generally easy to pick up and learn. Meanwhile, this game requires hundreds of hours just to get a decent understanding of how to play. Meaning that matching players of equal skill becomes even harder to do with it's limited playerbase.

Have to try that one out. Sounds similar to my "Alucard Bribe tech." Which, long story short involves Dracula, Alucard, and lots of blood cans placed in the open.
Try doing the twerk tech with Dwight. In my experience, killer players are extremely thirsty, and will quickly fold when they see those tiny buns jiggling about.
