All DbD has to do is make a $5 charm/badge of that metal pole in the loading screen and act like "haha we're in on the joke too, we care about the community" and it'll all be forgiven as the money rolls in.
As much as bugs are terrible, they have been responsible for some of the greatest moments I've experienced in this game. That bug where survivors who stunned the killer, then got teleported to the hook, was amazing. I almost died laughing the first time I saw it.
If the choice to unionize is made, I won't cross the picket line. But I want that charm.
-
The things is, Clown's power was already very strong for chase. His weakness was that's all he had. Buffing his chase just made him even more oppressive in the 1v1.
I would have just given him something to make his map traversal better. Maybe increase the speed boost from the antidote when out of chase or something. I don't know.
-
Bardic increases your chances of survival by roughly 50%.
By being cute and hoping the killer takes a liking to you.

They didn't even manage to play 1 match on stream.
That's a shame. At least bro got payed. Hopefully.

Hopefully yes, them fixing the ddos'ing issue would be a silver lining to all this. But the ignorance of the issue up until this point, and their direct ignorance of Otzdarva telling them how to workaround the issue to save the event has been very painful to watch
I watched a little bit and then turned it off. It sounds like things got even worse after. Glad I jumped ship when I did 🤣
-
Well, Cote getting cooked with flashlights whilst an audience watched, was enough to get flashlights addressed immediately. So maybe this one will do the same.
-
The moment I saw a community manager exclusively responding to the usual suspects, I knew the nerfs were coming.
You'd think killer players saying "I can't track survivors through the fog", would be met with "Well, that's the point". Sadly the response was something akin to "Thanks for the feedback. I'll let the devs know".
Now the vials are useful against players with limited vision, and almost useless against everyone else. Great design.
-
The old map looked so good. It looked like an actual place where people might have lived. Now it looks completely off. Removing houses and adding a ton of garbage in the middle, completely ruined the aesthetics.

I just found this absolutely dreadful gen spawn on Hawkins:

Both of these are in THE SAME ROOM.
How is this fine in any way?
How many goats did you sacrifice to get that kind of gen spawn whilst playing Knight? Gotta be three or four at least.

Many people don't want actual fairness. They shout very loudly when they get the short end of the stick, but when someone else gets it, they become incredibly quiet. Unfortunately, calling it out doesn't really do anything, as hypocrites are intellectually dishonest people. They know they're full of crap, and have likely already made peace with it.

I played a game against Nemmy and my sense of empathy was making me cringe for Michonne. she sounds seriously unwell. I wanna pause the trial and ask if she's ok
She does sound like she could drop dead at any moment.
-
Michonne's vomiting is hilarious. I heard someone compare it to how Clown sounds, and it's pretty close.

Yeah its fun to play something new, i seem to help the casuals in my lobby not get catched so often during tp's and hook saves so its a big plus for that and i manage to save myself few times when i get catched off guard.
Its good that it needs specific addons to make it work as intended so its not just pop it in inv and run the match
Yeah, you gotta look out for your new/casual teammates.

I honestly rely on bloodlust on my michael build every match so for me its been pretty broken ive been playing survivor and trying to get good with fog vial, its neat againts teleporting killers like springtrap
Breaking bloodlust is one of the worst bugs the game could have, so I hope a fix is ready to go.
Glad you're enjoying the new item. It's definitely neat to have something new to play with.
-
Nerfing them was the best choice for the sake of gameplay. It gets boring going to the same realms constantly. The only problem with them is that they are now pretty useless. So they should be reworked or just retired.
-
I'm honestly disappointed that the health chapter has so far brought almost no stability to the game. It feels like business as usual, with each patch continuing to break the game. Bug fixing doesn't mean all that much, if each update keeps adding new ones, or resurrecting bugs that were previously patched out.

Where have you seen devs talking about it? Not doubting you but I'm curious about their commentary.
As far as accessibility goes...... It sounds mean but you cannot account for every single issue someone has. Not everything is for everybody, sorry.
Might not be a dev, just a community manager or something.
-
I've only seen the devs responding to people who want them nerfed or removed so far. So my guess is that they will either be nerfed so hard that they become mostly useless, or they will just scrap them entirely.

I agree that compensations are still way too low. But at the same time, I'm glad we're finally getting them. I didn't think it'd ever happen, especially after that fiasco with Gabriel's Lunar New Year outfit. So I'm hoping they do more as time goes on.
To be frank, we're not entitled to anything. The devs are free to remove add-ons if they want. That doesn't mean we deserve free BP. It's just in-game currency. Yet OP is acting like they got duped in a ponzi scheme, and lost their life savings. Calling it a scam is completely overkill.
People should just be grateful they get anything.
-
At least survivors got new maps to play with. That was definitely worth waiting several years for.
RIP Bog Vials.
-
I don't know how that perk has dodged so many updates.
-
I completed the survey. I don't know what you're going on about. It's asking about play habits, toxicity, whether you enjoy playing as and against Springtrap, how the map feels for both sides. Did you just stop after a couple of questions?
-
There's no point in nuking all meta perks, as they will just get replaced by other perks, and then people will start complaining about those. It only takes a week or so, for players to start telling BHVR to nuke popular perks and loadouts.
By all means, nerf the most broken stuff. But leave everything else alone. The game already has a bunch of irrelevant perks. We don't need more of them.
-
@calem said:
he literally just came out and then got some add-on changes and you're already asking what's next… let's just see how it goes for a while
Nope. We're all going to speculate about nerfs that haven't even happened yet, and then get upset about them.
Thank you very much.
-
Everyone complains when the devs add anything that could be remotely game changing. So players run the same old crap. The people who perpetually doom post are the reason the game is so stale.

@MDRSan said:
It would only activate after stomping a boon totem, convert the first swing into a non damaging attack that forces the survivor to drop their item, and then be deactivated until another boon totem is stomped.
It's not written like a proper survivor perk unless it requires you to do something completely situational and unrelated to core gameplay loop mechanics before giving you a maybe mildly useful effect and then disabling itself unless you do the thing you were lucky to be able to do in the first place, a second time. (That's even IF it can be reactivated at all)

@SpringMyTrap said:
if franklin was written like a survivor perk, it would passively make survivors lose charges on the item if they brought more than two of the same item because that's item abuse and unhealthy strategy.

I don't believe that could work in practice. Disabling an addon that drastically changes the power or even the killer walk speed would cause a spaghetti nightmare I don't want to think about.
I don't think something like that should be introduced. It's just an example to show how survivors tend to view Frankie's. I don't think the perk needed nerfing, but I can see why it might get changed. Having a perk that limits creativity, just makes the game more boring to play. Lightborn has a similar problem, where it makes parts of a survivor's loadout completely useless, with no counterplay. Although, flashlights are often so disruptive, that the perk will likely always have to stay as it is.

I don't know how you can equate those two. A killer's power vers a toolbox. Then add to that times four? How are you making this leap?
It would be something like if a survivor perk was released that caused a killer's add-ons to go on cooldown, or just deactivate. Items and add-ons give players was to customise their playstyle. So having something that can limit that creative freedom isn't great for gameplay.
-
I played a few matches with Wiretap, Blastmine, and Repressed Alliance. It caused the UI to bug out, as the on screen prompts overlapped with each other. No idea if it still bugs out.
-
I would wager money that BHVR did not get early access to the Nintendo Switch 2's hardware. That would mean they've had no head start on understanding the device, and how to create a new version for it. It will likely take a while to get a new version done.

Killer spends entire match to get a head pop or just tunnel them normally without tossing the whole match away and people can still just do gens then leave giving them hatch. This is a nonexistent problem in reality.
That does sound like a best case scenario. Getting trapped and followed early-game till pop, won't get beaten by gen rush, into hatch. Then there's solo survivors not being able to coordinate. Less experienced survivors already find Pig hard to understand. I think countering it consistently would be almost impossible in most cases outside of a strong SWF, or getting trapped late game.
As I said, it's not a common thing to occur. Most Pig players play her because they enjoy her character. Those kinds of players aren't usually into making others miserable. I only referenced it because someone asked how her kit can be problematic, and that's the one thing in her kit that can be an issue.
-
@jasonq500 said:

Then tell me what's so problematic about her gameplay that she needs a rework
She's been in the game for 8 years, regarded as a really weak killer who has been nerfed
The unhealthy part of her kit is her ability to hard tunnel someone to death once they've been trapped. If she moves faster than survivors when crouched, there's zero chance of the survivor being able to remove the trap. She will just follow them whilst crouch walking, till their head pops.
It's not something that most Pig's do, as it can cause you to throw the match. But it's a pretty easy way to ensure that at least one survivor has a miserable match, with no real counterplay.
-
Good to see that people are doing their own research. That is to say, they watched a Choy video, and are now upset lmao.

I disagree with that, every single person I see abusing ping could play on servers closer to them, they just CHOOSE to play on servers where they have obscene ping as that gives them an unfair advantage. It is essentially exploiting imo
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3957616#Comment_3957616
You would not mind facing someone with 700ms ping?!!! I don't even know if we can have any meaningful discussion if you consider 700ms ping is in any way acceptable in any online game other than PVE
Edit to add: people voting me down for my OP saying 700+ ms ping is ridiculous and should not happen?! I guess some people love going against killers with such high ping they hit you out of nowhere and it is literally unplayable? SMH…
I think they were saying that if the game was capable of verifying in-game information correctly, it wouldn't matter if the opponent had high ping. As it wouldn't verify laggy hits in the first place.
-
It's not game balance. Playing survivor is just getting really boring. The base moveset hasn't changed for years, and perks are more balanced than they used to be. So they're less impactful, meaning they're less interesting to use.
Learning counterplay to new killers isn't enough to keep survivor feeling fresh. Especially when new killers have similar powers to others that already exist.
The survivor role needs something new added to it. Some sort of basekit mechanic that adds an additional layer to gameplay. Something that a whole new wave of perks could be built around. The perk pool has gotten to big for a game that has so few basekit mechanics.

But this can happen even if the killer isn't slugging any survivors. The last survivor gets the abandon button immediately after changing to the dying state, which means the last survivor ALWAYS has the option to abandon before they are sacrificed by the killer.
Yeah, it's not a perfect system. The devs could add a small delay to the adandon feature. That way the last survivor can't abandon immediately.
-
I think the devs did that to not incentivize killers to slug everyone to death.
-
If you're going to speculate on the ramblings of some random leaker, you should be clear that's what you're doing. Your post makes it sound like this is coming from the devs, which it's not.
-
It's kind of odd that the devs tried Shiny Pin basekit with Huntress, and it was a disaster. Then they gave it to Springtrap and thought it would promote a fun gameplay loop. Same thing happened with Kaneki. Chucky lost his OG Scamper into M1, as it promoted a boring, uninteresting gameplay loop. But then they gave it to Kaneki.
Springtrap doesn't really need a nerf in terms of strength. But it's so strange to me that the devs keep reusing mechanics that seem to be almost universally detested.
-
If there's not enough survivors available to be matched with you, then you have to wait longer for a killer match.
-
I appreciate that BHVR is finally addressing going next, and rewiring the DC system. But where are the improvements to solo queue? The devs can keep upping the punishments for survivors, but it doesn't change the fact that solo queue is a disorganised mess. There have been almost no efforts to fix long standing problems for solo players. We can't even get a PTB to test out basekit Kindred. Such a sad little change, that could potentially help out a lot, and it never shows up for testing.
-
I doubt that the devs will add a straight flag, as it would end up being used negatively by a bunch of trolls. If you really want to let people know that you're not gay, maybe you could ask for an ally flag. It would affirm your sexuality, whilst not being useful for trolling queer people.
-
So, The Entity has decided to torture survivors by imitating an Amazon warehouse? Any lack of efficiency results in a warning, followed by punishment 🤣
-
I'm fine with FOMO, if the rewards don't cost actual money and have to be earned through gameplay. It's cool to have things like cosmetics, that you get for participating in events.
But when it's cosmetics that you have to open your wallet for, then I'm 100% against it. As then it's not a reward for participating, but a tactic to make you purchase something at a time where you might not have the disposable income to buy it, and pay your bills on time.
-
I think that any modifier that excludes the use of perks will be a failure on the survivor side. It makes playing survivor substantially less interesting. It would be like taking away a killer's power. It's just kind of boring to play.
Shuffle could work but doesn't because perks are situational, and often rely on perk or power synergy. Which you won't get very often due to how many perks are being randomized.
-
Probably Larry or Pinhead. I'm exclusively solo queue for survivor, and those two are a massive pain to face without communication. When I face Pinhead, I just throw myself at the box, regardless of what condition I'm in, or what I'm doing at the time.

If it makes the most amount of players happy (survivors) that's good for the game
Well, we're not everyone. Without killers, we have no game to play.
-
What you describe as unfun, is game balance. Killers have long, laggy cool downs. It feels bad, but it's part of the game's balance. It's the same with exhaustion perks. Powerful things need restrictions.
-
What would stop Nurse players from running a full meta loudout, and choosing to only play against solo queue teams? Solo players have it rough enough, without making things even worse, just so you can 4K as Trapper, whilst playing for fun and not sweating.
