You do not need to play "fair" ever, do it at your own discretion. That being said, a killer who prides themselves on playing nice would never BT check to begin with tbh. So, I have a feeling you do not really care about that.
-
It is the white glyph challenge, if they escape with the smoky white thing they found in the basement (lol) they get 25k BP.

I had another challenge bugged, the one in which you have to point at the killer using the perk premonition. I watched tons of videos and tried everything... Couldn't complete it. What's worse, it was, at that time, the last survivor challenge left for me among all the tomes until december that I stopped playing.
I wasted so much time on that one. I tried every suggestion and it literally never worked even when I had a killer that was leaving me alone. I think he thought I was friendly because I kept pointing at him, lol.
-
Well, yes, it is objectively greedy. No idea why he is mad about it, if anything, survivor greed is the ONLY thing that let's us 4k high mmr survivors. It is a blessing. He should be thanking you.
-
No, it will not, survivors aren't keen enough to use it. I would be worried if they were, but the first impressions of the perk told me all I needed to know. It is not perceived valuable enough even if it would hard carry them. Luckily hubris comes in clutch once again.
-
Killer is way more fun than survivor. I couldn't BELIEVE that I lucked into these queue times. Coming from Overwatch, my homies and I were expecting killer to be the long queue, as dps is. But nah, people would rather play tank in Overwatch than killer in a game about playing as a killer. Rofl? I am eternally thankful that this Twilight Zone effect exists.
I get it is MASSIVELY survivor favored, but that doesn't make survivor more fun. A lot of people just want to play to win, I suppose. And more power to them. I love that they sacrifice their fun for mine. Thank you, survivor mains. I love you.
-
I actually feel like most Lightborn hate comes from killer mains who have yet to experience the old flashy to the side of the head. Once they do, I would be surprised if they were still stubborn enough to knock the perk. The problem is they genuinely believe facing a wall works, and at their mmr, I bet it does.

Why do you care ANYTHING beside pipping? this game has nothing else to look for.
My day one p3 Sadako is way more important than pips. Those bloodpoints will come too late, so I do not care about them at all. I have sacrificed so much to make this happen that a measly 2 mil is nothing. I threw away at least 10 times that just for the tiniest day initial boost.

you dont understand , they all have 1.5k hours and more but we have a life other than gaming, they dont want to tryhard, we all have a job i point the fact that SBMM is poorly Done and BHVR doesnt even think that Families can play together with big SBMM Gap.
If they do not want to try, they are going to get destroyed by someone trying. That is inevitable. Mmr should mostly help with that, if you feel the killers are too high quality, just give them a free kill to lower your mmr as the average will go down.

You asked why people view it as an MMR problem and I answered. Before MMR, the face camping tunnelers were around rank 16 and now they're not. The survivors are not based around equal counterplay to the killer and you can believe that matching killers with survivors they can't catch is a good system all you want but I don't share that opinion. If a Killer is matched with a survivor that can run them for a long period of time then that's a match making issue that breeds frustration.
Huh? You couldn't hit rank 1 WITH tunneling? That was the easiest way...

I don’t think it’s necessary. They’ve indirectly addressed the grind through Tome challenges and now Grade Rewards. Even bumping this to two million last month.
These two changes have massively alleviated the grind, especially for new players. Each Tome has 2.5 to 3M bloodpoints each. And all the past Tome challenges are available.
Ten Tomes. That’s enough to Prestige four characters without considering the points earned from the matches doing it.
What would raising the cap give us? The ability to max prestige a character instantly. The devs have said they are not interested in this happening and it takes quite a lot of planning to make this happen. See: Otz’s video on maxing Nemesis in one hour.
It doesn't take lots of planning so much as it takes lots of saving. I am going to p3 Sadako day 1 myself and I didn't need to "plan" anything besides which challenges to save from old tomes. And even then, my ability to do this in the future is very limited with how deep I am going for Sadako. Whether you have tome challenges available is the biggest factory unless you want to save codes for months, I suppose.
-
It is probably just burn out. I love Overwatch so much, but after nearly 6 years, I just can't anymore. I am sure people who were here since the beginning feel similarly whereas I am a newer player and feel the game is mostly fine. There is a lot they could improve, don't get me wrong, but nothing worth quitting over.

Nope! 400 seconds of pure gen time is longer than full to zero on hook so its highly likely someone else is going down and getting camped before you get to exit gates.
Also to factor in dedicated campers now run Deadlock to delay you even further and a spicy noed on top
Okay, so what you do is you do the gens at the same time, right? So you see... You are not waiting 400 seconds. And it is not as if the killer spawns right in front of a survivor and instant downs them right by a hook. Very weird assumptions as you almost make it sound like you play against face campers despite not knowing how it works.

That sucks. Some challenges you have to just keep playing and forget about them. Eventually you will get it and then be able to move on to the next challenge. You have plenty of time before this Tome ends, so don’t let challenges like these stress you out.
Yeah, but I need the challenges done by March 8th for Sadako p3 day 1, and Elden Ring launches tomorrow, so you know, stress is inevitable. These survivor ones kill me. The Hillbilly one was such an ez clap and now I need freaking 240 seconds of co op time and 12 generators. Do you know how many games that will take, fam? The 4 red glyphs, even if I Wraith to find it and afk to move on as fast as possible that is another 4 games on top of the 4 games I needed to do the same strategy to chase 16 different survivors.
It all adds up... It feels never ending.

"just swapping target" is extremely wasteful because, otherwise, those perks didn't need to exist from the beginning.
Without existence of DS and BT, killers would be able to kill a survivor one or two minutes faster, which is certainly more impactful than 20% progression loss of NOED (if you decide to do bones before gate is powered, anyway).
UB is not a problem though, I don't think anyone actually playing around that perk after all.
I wouldn't say Unbreakable is a problem, but that perk is the one that turns around games unlike the other 3 that just buy that particular survivor a bit of time. Especially if paired with soul guard as you can use it much more aggressively which is key end game.

you should actually try and play survivor, but it's reasonable to find solo too frustrating
I do not understand, is playing survivor supposed to magically change reality? I play tons of survivor and still believe the game is survivor sided at higher levels because I am not biased as hell.

from the amount of complaints I just figured it was.
To be fair, it SHOULD be. And I assume it is at tournament level. I do not watch competitive DBD, but it would be even more of a joke if that was not a staple to all of their builds.

Always put the basement within the school's basement, and the building becomes killer sided. Remove the basement from house of pain and the school, and the buildings are bland as hell in my opinion. I agree with the change to the two-story house though.
And what would be wrong with having the main building be killer sided in what is literally the most survivor sided map in the game, exactly?
-
I suppose it would be pretty cool. Sounds like it would fit that mobile game DBD rip off a bit better, but she would stand out in this game, which is what I want more of.

Thats not what I mean like the counter to ds is slug if you think they have ds or bt I'd just wait it out and don't hit. My point is most of the counters involves assuming that they have said perk and playing around it and all 4 survivors can have all of them. Yet just do bones is normally countered by I'm not doing bones for something that might not even happen.
And Circle of Healing, now. Cleansing totems is basically sandbagging your team.

High mmr survivors are good, but they're all the same.
Gone against high mmr survivors for awhile now and they all use the same pool of like 8 perks. As well as there almost always being the bnp or styptic.
I would fall down dead of a heart attack if I had match without dead hard. It isn't a broken perk but its boring when everyone uses it.
etc.
etc.
etc.
I don't see a difference between your grievances and the above ones. It is still a valid point, but is a double edges sword as well. Most, if not all, every grievance of monotony or pure meta builds can be said for survivors as well.
(Though for the record I play blight and usually bring meme builds because the game is no longer fun if you try to win so I just have fun.)
Meta is fine, it is when you have a stagnant meta for so long that all variety ceases to exist. I do not know how this game was before I joined, but the only real difference in the survivor meta since Resident Evil was a key nerf and adding Circle of Healing. Otherwise, it plays the same. For almost a year.

I am sorry, you really think that you can find a Survivor, win the chase, down them, pick them up, carry them to a hook, hook them, AND camp them to DEATH...
...in 120 seconds?!
You do not need to camp them to death by 2 minutes, you need to hook them by 2 minutes. And yes, I believe I could do that rather consistently. It depends on the spawn, but it is not much different than Basement, realistically.
-
It is less cheating and more an exploit, if you ask me. But whatever, I could care less how Blight players wreck survivors.
-
Because NOED is not the meta.
-
Half the survivor "techs" will be gone if they do that. They can't...
-
I am really glad trades are on the table again. Predrop the pallet and you will be fine.

I had teammates with 1k hours who were dead harding against feral frenzy, like......bruh you can play killer and learn what they can do so when you play survivor you can know better.
They always do that when I play Legion, it kind of annoys me because I just want to stabby stab.
-
It happened before mmr too, I went against stuff like this all the time as a baby killer and it taught me to be relentless. If it were not for their help, I might be as trash at killer as I am at survivor.

You quit... Because there is a leaver penalty? Even though you could just attempt to Kobe and be out of the game almost as fast? Uh huh... Anyways, March 8th, Sadako will finally replace Spirit.

Honestly? I imagine your are the type of killer a survivor actually ones to play against. You are so polite despite your primary goal to get someone out of the game the fastest. But they are used to that from killers that do not give them free space. Lol.

DH for distance is what it is. It feels bad but the survivor isn't necessarily correcting a mistake with it. They're just being greedy because they know they can.
DH for dodging hits shouldn't really happen with enough experience. It's almost always very obvious when a survivor has it. If a killer finds survivors consistently getting extra loops via reactive panic Dead Hards, they're being WAY too impatient with their lunges and not positioning well. You don't need to lunge at the first available opportunity.
As far as playing M1s, it's not as bad as people make it out to be. 99% of teams aren't achieving the perfection that players think every survivor is capable of. Run a good build, have some game sense, run the tiles correctly, and use the power effectively.
Dead Harding for distance is correcting the mistake of being greedy, though.
You do not need perfection to counter m1 killers. Obviously most survivors are bad, but there is a HUGE difference even at a causal level between playing an anti loop killer versus a pure m1. Especially one without instant downs.
-
What maps aren't survivor sided? You should just appreciate the visuals as competent survivors will crush you on any map, and you can crush the inept ones on any map. To that end, Eerie is very pretty and visual distinct from the rest of the maps. A great addition.
-
Careful, that Yui you helped in a challenge today might be teabagging at the exit gates tomorrow, as a wise member of this forum has enlightened me to.
-
They would be useless on vertical maps without going through the floor. They would rather have them be broken in favor of survivors than against them for obvious reasons.

I can only speak for myself, but I stopped helping Killers with Challenges. The guy who got his challenge because of me can be the guy who will tunnel me out of the game a few days later.
Also, I already helped Killers and got killed for it. E.g. I got killed by a Legion while helping him with his "Stab 5 people"-Challenge, the other Survivor and myself got sacrificed by him.
Sucks for those who are actually nice and need the help, but if a Survivor is nice enough to help with a Challenge, dont sacrifice them. At least for me, those people spoiled it for others.
You do not help people do challenges... Because they might actually be playing the game normally a few days later and kill you? Rofl... What in the? Survivor mains, bruh.
Luckily for me I do not want or need the help. But I feel bad for the garbage killers who are likely survivor mains to begin with who have to deal with their own kind from the other side. As if it wasn't torture enough playing with them on your team, imagjne playing against them as someone who doesn't know how to Billy. Feels bad, man.
Pro tip for anyone struggling with this challenge. Instead of playing nice, find the weak link, hard face camp them. Do NOT kill them, slug them when they get to stage 2 and proxy camp the slug. Easy. That is how I did it before I learned how to Billy, back when I would literally struggle to do his daily and need exit gate hits. Anyone can do it. You do not need to hope for a helpful survivor main.
-
I do that all the time as Billy. I am more scared of the one where you need to hit them after dashing for x meters. I do not use add ons, so that one requires a bit of luck.

Yes. The question is, would you disagree with a group of good players on game balance, just because you know the game mechanics?
If their opinion was bad, sure. It has nothing to do with anyone's experience. Bad design is bad design. There is a lot of good in DBD that is commonly criticized and there is a lot of bad that people just take for granted. I do not care if they went to game design school and got a PhD or if they are a professional player that scrims 16 hours a day. I care about their take.
-
Is it teaming with the other three survivors when you commit to tunneling one?
-
sometimes people just get bored of the maps they're receiving and want to play in a certain realm
You wrote that, by the way. I bet that is a viable reason someone might dodge Crotus Prenn.
-
It will be nice to play it while waiting for Sadako to actually release.
-
Eh, I do not like it very much either. I am not saying you cannot do it, but I definitely face camp immersed survivors out of fear I will never find them again. I beat them on hook to simulate how our chases might have gone, had we ever actually played the game together.

I dont think its entitlement to not want to just sit there on a hook for 2mins.
When it comes to actual face camping, and I mean within an arms reach it's not really good gameplay.
I'm all for making survivors play smart and to actually play well but that dont mean I think face camping is good.
Like I said I dont want bubba nerfed, and it's sad I only see so many due to this playstyle, but I do worry its these kind of players that will ruin bubba
Oh, no, absolutely not. I am talking about the people who want free unhooks, as in the saver. Obviously the person being face camped is getting screwed. I would be more open to it if DS didn't exist. I know survivor mains like to pretend it got gutted or that it is "meh." But that perk is crippling and the only one that is actually a guranteed escape late game if they are unhooked. Not borrowed. Not dead hard. Obviously they will have those too. However, that does not really change the crux of the issue.
