It's funny because everyone else would have just given up. Only a Claudette player would be that determind to get the hatch.
-
Um no. At low rank you trappers who circle just outside of terror radius and then come rushing back. Even if you move it actually slows you down since the killer can move faster plus its so easy to find people.MhhBurgers said:Tunneling has nothing to do with the healing changes unless you still do unsafe unhooks and heal at the same place /thread
Or you get spirits who constantly walk away then phase walk back.
It happens a lot.
Also don't give me the "dont do unsafe hooks" etc that assumes I have any kind of control over how other people play. I don't. Therein lies the problem. People just dgaf solo.
-
It really does.Tsulan said:Take we ll make it instead.
Works like a charm.
The problem is many people won't change their self-care/decisive/dead hard/adrenaline loadout for it.
So you can heal them in record speed, but when it comes to you being healed it's "lol tough look gg byebye" -
I've tried that. Never works. Because someone else goes in for the save, often just 5 seconds after the hook.akbays35 said:@candymaniam said:
You guys ruined the game with the healing changes. Every game I play the killer tunnels the unhooked person because it is guaranteed easy target even with well make it level 3 they will still be injured. Half the games I play in the guy who gets hooked first is tunneled than rehooked than doesn't struggle so he dies. Making it a 3vs1 before 5 minutes pass. This is not fun at all. I know you guys are trying to balance swf but you buffed camping/tunneling and are slowly destroying this game.they cant be tunneled if you don't unhook them and just do gens... objectives over altruism especially if you see the killer just camping a location.
You see Survivor 2 get hooked. 5 seconds later Survivor 3's status change from healthy to injured, then survivor 2 goes from hooked to injured, then survivor 3 goes from injured to dying, then survivor 2 gors from injured to dying.
So what happens is one guy gets hooked, other guy goes for immediate save but gets spotted and injured, manages to unhook during cooldown, but then gets down, and killer chases unhooked guy and downs them shortly after.
There's nothing you can do because you can't influence other players actions. I can not stress how often the example above happens.
If I try to stay on the gens the above happens. Then the third guy goes for the save, gets spotted and downed too.
If I go for the rescue and see the killer lurking around the hook I'll wait for them to leave for a safe save, but then you see a Nea come sprinting along in plain sight for the hook and rushes the save with the killer right there.
Alternatively you go for the save and see a Meg running around the hook being chased but not having the intelligence to try and lure the killer AWAY from the hook rather than circling around it.
Sometimes it's so hard playing solo. -
Therein lies the problem. Gens still get done lightning fast which means more tubneling but now healing takes longer so it's easier to tunnel.DeadByFlashlight said:@The_Crusader said:
After playing extensively tonight here's what I've noticed.Firstly poor killers now found it easier than ever before to tunnel. There's less chance of their victim healing up before they get to them, especially with the mangled effect.
Secondly this does nothing to combat the issue of gen rushing. For the weaker killers who get looped for a while before catching some one gens are still flying past just as fast as before.
It's hard for a lot of the weaker killers to deal out damage to multiple people, especially when they're spread around the map.
So when killers find it easier to tunnel but gens are still pinging every couple of seconds guess what this leads to? It's easier to focus one or two people out of the game and go for confirmed kills than it is to try and stop the entire team.
Not to mention that solo players get hit the hardest by this. Some games are fine but I've had a fair few where I could sing and dance in front of people and they still wouldn't heal me. Not a problem in SWF when you can just ask your friend to do it. I'd like to dump self-care but it's just not feasible unless I'm playing with friends. Maybe we need more communication options? One for healing? Then again when you're injured in front of them if they still don't get the idea i doubt an emote or prompt will do anything.
I just feel this change encourages more tunneling. It's the gens that are rhe problem. Not to mention some killers just 'give up' once 3 gens light up in record time and they then just decide to tunnel to try and secure one kill.
Tunneling is when the killer doesnt even give the survivor a chance to heal. How do healing times affect this?

Yes, i would have prefered a complete rework of the gen mechanic too, but once again the devs took the easier "solution".
The change doesnt affect tunneling at all, but tunneling is still the only thing a killer can do to somehow do well against a genrush (if the survivors play organized and well, even that doesnt work unless nurse)
Again it's not a problem with SWF because you can bring items, arrange healing, bring perks etc. But in solo like always you're screwed if you get put with bad or selfish survivors.
Which promotes more SWF play - which killers then cry about and lobby dodge.
I think the game is good and more challenging against good killers. Its more intense which is what you want from a horror game.
It just sucks harder when you're against killers with tunnel vision....like every poor spirit player ever. -
Yeah there are some videos of some really bad examples of this.
I think it's a bug/network issue though because I've been pulled off a hook and actually downed again BEFORE i had control of my character. -
I am adapting. I juat wish others would do the same. Perhaps it just needs time though. Maybe the P3s don't have all the perks unlocked.
Like I said it's not a problem with good teammates or SWF, it just sucka extra hard when you get crappy teammates.
I'm fed up of seeing people purposefully farm others too. Pulling people off hooks 2 seconds aftee they've been hooked so now the killer has two victims. This is why we lose so many games. -
Clearly opinion is divided.
I liked it in games I had the other day with friends, not so much solo. Some killers can really take advantage of it in the worst way.
I don't think it needs reverting FYI. I do think it's a wait and see approach. Hopefully people will work together better and maybe the meta perks will change once people unlock more. Just right now although its only 4 seconds it feels a lot longer and not too many people are bringing perks to counter itm
Also, there's no need to be so rude
-
Another excellent point well made.
You really convinved me to see your point of view.

The healing won't be bad if people adapt. We'll make it, Botany etc etc and heal each other.
I can do really well with friends or good solo players this way.
The problem is when you get put with people who refuse to heal or insist on self-care. It's really hard then.
I'm hoping it's still early days and people adapt eventually. -
No, when survivors lose their ego.

Guess I aren't getting them then becauase they aren't getting a penny more from me until DS is out of the game.
-
The game isn't killer sided until DS is gone.
Seriously so ######### fed up of people running to spots on the map with no hooks so they can get their 35%.
Fix the ######### hooks ffs or remove that ######### from the game. -
Ok I take back what I said.
I was feeling good about the changes yesterday. It's been HORRIBLE tonight.
Firstly, damn near every killer is taking sloppy butcher now. So healing times are ridiculous.
Secondly, nobody has brought any kind of healing buff perks to compensate for this.
Been seeing a lot of Spirits tonight and we all know how they play. Walk away from the hook then phase-walk back to try and tunnel. Real smart, nobody else ever thought of that
Then you have teamates so bad that the extra healing time just means they miss more skillchecks. Seriously how the hell are so many people missing skillchecks?
I feel if they had we'll make it, botany, or even leader it would be something but nobody is adapting. Also there has been a lot of crummy killers tonight who decide the best way to use the extra time is just to tunnel the hell out of someone.
The community really does ruin this game. Its fun when it works but it blows when you get so many bad games. -
Yeah but at least it's causing those survivors to go away and heal. It gets them off the gens for a little bit.Wolf74 said:@The_Crusader said:
SC never felt as toxic and broken as DS.
Than you never encountered those toxic tanks?
I have matches like that a lot (before the healing nerf), during a chase they actively run towards me to take a hit to protect an injured mate and run off in different directions.
They healed up so fast, that I dealt out hits left and right and they kept healing up and tank another hit.
With DS one person can waste the killers time and nobody else needs to lift a finger. -

What a joke. Might as well just disconnect.

How so?
Because you DC without reason.
Its laughable but guys like you will never change until they are hit by the bannhammer, I know that
I lost a pip in the doctor match BECAUSE I stayed in it, and got camped and tunneled in a 3 vs 1.
I do some 3 vs 1 games. I quit then when I get them constantly in a row. It's unfair, the game isn't balanced for that. Seriously screw you, why should I be expected to play 5 3 vs 1 games in a row? I haven't done anything wrong to be punished like that.
You're probably one of those killers who gets a first minute rage quit and then rubs his hands together gleefully knowing you can tryhard and cause the other survivors to depip.

Many killers always tunneled the unhooked guy, because they suck at the game. Now they have 4 extra seconds. You can adapt to this. Change a perk to either botany or we'll make it. You'll actually end up healing faster than before the patch. That's what I did. Now I'm thinking about going for the Pharmacy perk too.
Many survivors refuse to do this though. Killers have always had to adapt to changes to why shouldn't survivors for once?
They refuse because they can only carry 4 perks and they dont want to get rid of their crutches

Exactly.
I play survivor and killer, and as killer I'm always having to pick perks carefully and adapt to new things so it's about time survivor had to change their looping second chance build.
-
I think the healing changes are good. I don't notice as a killer because I used sloppy butcher a lot anyway but as a survivor it nerfs self-care and makes teamwork more important.
I took we'll make it and I've been doing really well when the whole team works together and finding the game easier than before. But then you get crappy games with crappy teammates who don't heal you, or run off to the edge of the map to self-heal which just wastes a lot of time.
A lot of them won't change their habits though. The meta build is still something like...
Decisive Strike
self-care
sprint burst/dead hard
AdrenalineLook at how selfish that build is. It's entirely geared towards extending the life of that one survivor.
I like how the new update has me thinking more about teamplay. I'm switching self-care for we'll make it, maybe I'll try botany too. I'm thinking Bond would be good for when I need healing, or perhaps I could get Pharmacy and just med-kit myself. Maybe I could run Empathy and just play healer.
It is meant to be a teambased game but some people are just kicking and screaming that they can't run their SB/DS/Adrenaline loop the killer for 5 gens build.
-

What?
If I spend all game doing the gens I seem to get less points that those who get chased and unhook all game.
Besides, since when did Urban evasion claudettes do gens? They normally raid chests, do 1 gen, and then just hide for the hatch spawn. -
Probably because DS has the more immediate and visible impact on the game.Wolf74 said:I am still confused that people talk so much about DS, but ignore that SC has a way bigger impact on the game.
As I said in the example above, I was unable to gain momentum and slow down two gens because DS robbed me of an early hook. Self-Care wouldn't have saved them becauae I was on their tail the whole team.
SC never felt as toxic and broken as DS.
In regards to the recent changes I think self-care is nerfed now. It takes a long time to heal, and with mangled it's even worse.
The best way to adapt is to go for team heals as the game was intended, sadly though you still see some people insist on SC even if they don't have a med kit or botany. It wastes so much time now. Then they go online and cry about how it's too hard.
Its funny because if I play with friends I've ditched SC for we'll make it and I'm doing great in games. -
I've said it before and I'll say it again, the best way to balance the game is to remove Decisive Strike.
I can't count the number of times I've gone for a hook with 5 gens remaining, the hook was a bit far, they hit 35% and then I have to chase them again. Catch them, hook them and two gens pop. Now if that survior was hooked I could have been off kicking one of those gens to regress it and chasing the survivor who was working on it, plus one would have had to come off to unhook. That perk alone causes so much lost momentum and if it's a non-obsessionf then you can't even see the Strike coming.
Then there are the obsessions who you don't see all game. You down them at the end and they crawl for the hatch/exit gates. There is literally NOTHING you can do to stop them. Think how ridiculous that is - a game where you have absolutely no chance of stopping the other player from winning. You pick them up, they hit their skillcheck always and they escape. It robs you of a kill.
I feel that if they just pulled this crap out of the game they wouldn't need to nerf survivors so hard.
Would healing changes which survivors dont like have been needed had Decisive been pulled from the gone and Ruin totems were actually better hidden? I don't think so. Nobody said survivors heal too fast but it's universally agreed that D-strike is absolutely broken and that totem spawns are absolutely ridiculous. -
I agree. Toolkits are far too powerful for rushing the gens.
I learned the hardway. Found someone pretty quick. Downed them pretty quick. Was feeling like it was a good start. Hook is a bit far, they hit their 35% and d-strike out, down them again, go for hook and 3 gens pop. I've never seen it so fast. Having a great toolbox and being able to hit a good number of great skillchecks really undoes the game. Combine with with secret d-strikes and you just can't get it done in time.
Franklin's doesn't work because firstly you have to locate the ones with a toolbox, then downthem while the rest do the gens. If you hit them and leave they'll just pick it back up. You don't have the time to seek them out individually and take the toolboxes off them.
You need ruin to slow it down but then that's gone in 30 seconds most games so it's worthless.
At least remove d-strike. At least with that gone I could start to build momentum. -
Exactly. I want against a 4 man SWF who brought two yellow med kits and an instant heal last night and a few healing perks. I've never seen a team heal so fast. All of the healing seemed near instant.Fao said:Futhermore, there are so many perks boosting the healing process you can't even use them all during a game.
Botany Knowlegde, We will make it, Autodidact, Self-care, Leader, Pharmacy, Prove Thyself, No One Left Behind, Resilience, Spine chill, This Is Not Happening and aswell the Medkit + you can locate injured survivor all over the map with Empathy.
So? Something else? Yes, actually you can take back the time lost by using Borrowed time, decisive strike and more...
It nerfs basic survivors and will probably hurt those at the bottom a bit but those who main survivors at the top ranks and pour all their bloodpoints into their survivors will have enough med kits to overcompensate.
For me personally I appriciatw the added challemge of not being able to self-heal. I think it's more fun. And again, if I unhook we'll make it actually makes me more powerful.
I still wish they just stripped Decisive Strike out of the game conpletely. If they want to balance the game I think this is the biggest thing they can do. That damn perk wastes so much time every single game. -
I don't mind it. It sucks if you get bad teammates but luckily so far *fingers crossed* most have healed me when I needed it.
I ditched self-care for we'll make it. I'm actually spending less time on healing now. I heal other survivors way faster than I did before and I get them to heal me for 16 seconds rather than me self-healing for 24 seconds.
SWF is a lot more powerful this way. When I play solo, maybe Bond would be good. -
This is what I'm asking for.Wahara said:Maybe add in a safety pip for everyone else in the event someone DC's.
Maybe I didn't make it clear enough in my original post because people assume I'm asking for pips for people who DC?
No, far from it. I'm only asking for safety pips for survivors who stay in the game after someone else has disconnected.
If two people disconnect what happens? If you stay in the game you're going to lose a pip as you won't have a chance to do anything. If you quit you lose two pips. You're screwed either way. At least give the people who remain safety pips since it's not their fault their team got shafted. -
The game was never meant to be everyone self-healing anyway. That's the point. Take "we'll make it" amd heal others, get them to heal you. Your team will be stronger for it.tizzi717 said:new healing speed is frustrating. 16 second to heal does mean that with self-care are 32 seconds. they want you to waste a perk slot for botanical knowledge. This is pretty unfair like in the past killer must waste a perk slot for iron grasp.
It just sucks when you play with people who refuse to heal you. -
For what it's worth - next game yet ANOTHER survivor disconnected.
So that leaves everyone else with a choice - either play at a disadvantage while the killer overpowers you since you're a man down, or quit and stay in rank 15 purgatory and risk a ban.
I don't get why they can't see how broken this system is. The people who stay in the game are the ones being punished. -
Ok. So one person rage quit in the game I just had when they were going to be hooked for the first time.
Shortly after second person quits.
I do two gens for hatch while a claudette has been running around doing nothing.
She dies. Wraith decides I'm not getting a pity hatch and he goes around looking for me, finds me and hooks me.
Only just managed to get black pip after 5-10 minutes of a garbage game.
Next game. Right off the bat only 3 people load in. First guy gets hooked, gives up instantly. So thr leaves two of us. I try to help him but everytime I unhook him he gets tunneled. Killer then hooks me rather than giving pity hatch. Lost a pip.
Because as much as killers pretend they're nice, most don't give a ######### how many people quit. They love it, easy game for them.
If this what I'm expected to sit through every time? Just so that I lose one pip rather than two?
Fix your ######### game BHVR. This is utter ######### garbage. Expecting people to sit though this shite game after game after game just to get out of bottom ranks. -

I actually find him the most fun. He is really weak but at the same time he has some great strengths. He's the easiest to 4k with because you can slug one and still be able to see them from the other side of the map, and the other will struggle to hide from you because they can't tell exactly where Freddy is as they can only hear a non-directional terror radius. Normally I can't be bothered going for a 4k but it's easy with Freddy if you make it that far.He feels so broken. It's funny watching survivors try to stealth from him but not realizing where he is. This is also what makes him to horrible to play against.
I could see some Freddy+Knockout abuse being pretty viable along with sloppy butcher some quick transition add ons, and BBQ. I could see freddy being strong with blindness status effect in general.
Hex the third seal might be a little better but then Freddy is garbage at defending totems.

You're complaining about people who quit and you're quitting.
If someone disconmects on the first 30 seconds you have 5 gens and 3 people. Even BHVR knows this isn't fair as if the game loads with 3 people you only need to do 4 gens.
If a 3 vs 1 was every 20 games I'd put up with it but some nights it can genunely be a third of my games played.
Why am I expected to stay in every one? Especially if the killer decides to facecamp against 3 people. As you said the best case is you get the hatch and that's it.
It's boring. If we're expected to stay in every 3 vs 1 out of some moral sense of duty then I'd stop playing because it's not fun and it's not how the game was designed.
Again - I do stay in when its the odd game but when its those nights where its game after game after game then no I get fed up. I didn't sign up for that crap.
I don't mind so much if they quit after the second hook but when they quit because they went down within 30 aeconds it puts the team at a huge disadvantage and I'm saying they need to award the other players a safety pip in this situation or increase gen repair speed to give an incentive to play on. -

so "theoretically" of course if your system some how shut off by say it being unplugged then the game would think it malfunctioned and you would save your item, would safety pip, and you would keep BP earned in the game. this is a "theoretical" exploit and i am fully against trying it since it is against the games rules.

This is what I'm saying. Realistically at best one of you gets the hatch, the others die. As I said I've had a fair few facecamp because they know they have the game in the bag once someone disconnects 30 seconds in. It's incredibly toxic and you have to be a real slimeball to play like that.
I'm not one of those who expects the killer to cuddle me if someone disconnects. By all means kill us but don't just hook them and then sit on them out of spite. I give one the hatch in this scenario and try to give them a few hooks each so they have a chance to pip. -

Finally had my moment tonight.
- Had 3 people left.
- Slug one just before the last gen.
- See another just about to pop the last gen a few metres away.
- Walk over to whack them. They act cocky and stay on the gen until the last second to finish it off. - BIG MISTAKE
- They popped the last gen as I got to them, instant down.
- Turn around and the last guy is trying to heal the one I slugged. Knock him down.
- Hook them all. (Well one did use unbreakable but quickly got them back).
It almost makes up for all the times NOED has - never activated in the first place, been deactivated before I've got to hit anyone, or been deactivated after I hit 1 person. -
You can see Freddy if he puts you to sleep. Only those who are asleep can see him and can be attacked by him.
-
I prefer letting them think they're escaping with trapper.
Take Iron Grasp and Agitation. Trap all exits aside from one (works best on killer shack since it only has 3 entrances).
Walk away from the basement, when you hear the unhook run back. Watch as they see you coming in one way and try to bolt out the other door/window and both get trapped at once.
Much hilarity ensues. I've got many 4ks this way. They keep coming to rescue their friends and you get more traps every time.
Not a build for ranking but more for the laughs.
