Yup, I have only been back a few days for the event quests. Last 2 days thought I'd try normal mode again and its just one after the other teleporting/going underground in my face. I'm taking a break again, if BHVR can't fix this, it might be a perma break. Imagine them releasing a popular franchise chapter soon'ish within this mess… I hope ppl are smarter and keep their money.
They won't.

To be fair, DbD has always been ridden with cheaters, so they left the game in the same state it has always been.
Makes sense, but it's much worse since 9.3.0.
-
Best part is that BHVR went vacation for the holidays and left the game in this state. S2
Just like some content creators say "they really care about the players and are amazing people who are passionate for the game". -

Sorry.
I can't take the lack of respect for the players anymore.

As per my stats.deadbydaylight.com stats, I have a 43% escape rate and a 78% killrate, survivor in solo queue just seems impossible to play right now. Peopl;e are disconnecting and giving up more than 60% of my games probably and the players are just not good enough to survive tunneling. I know people did not like the anti-tunneling changes but really right now survivors in solo q really need something to help them. Especially in skill rating like the 4 survivors are always on 4 different skill levels, i notice this as killer and as a survivor. Please do something, just please please please
Do you really believe the same people who knew the game was swarming with cheaters and went on vacation regardless without addressing the situation will do something about this?

She needs a partial rework to blink occasionally while phasing instead of the audio thing.

I thought this was a horrid idea once, because BHVR may not be competent, but they did care.
Now? I don't think they care nor are they competent. They seem to just use DBD to develop more games that nobody really buys or plays.
Get a lump sum of cash for the game, and give it to a better development studio.
If they cared about the players and the game they wouldn't do half the crap they do like leave for vacation and left the game swarming with cheaters. -
I agree.
Game is heavily killer-sided. That's why in Tournaments they have to nerf them heavily to avoid them using more than one of the same perk, the add-ons they can use in their items and other stuff for the survivors to have a chance.
Oh, wait… -
And still BHVR went on vacation and let this situation unaddressed.
They really love this game and it's players. S2 -
Currently playing A LOT of single player games either because they just released or something I was waiting became available (like the mod to play as Sephiroth in FFVII finally being decent to allow a full playthrough with him. Didn't play the game at all even when it released to the PS5 waiting for these mods)
Operation Health failure really destroyed all my will to play DbD. -
It's one of the many things that didn't worked and made Operation Health a gigantic failure.

maps are the problem, u have really terrible loops right now against those killers, i think map balance should be made around the killer, so if the killer is blight the map should have safer loops and better pallets with even some connections, such changes can help the game health, its like balancing the tier list without touching the killers.
I already made this exact suggestion and here's the reply I've got (and I agree with it).
"Do you really trust BHVR with such thing? They'll probably code this in such a ass way that you could load as Ghostface and have 40 pallets on a map and then as Blight and have only 5". -
When Kaneki released they've said the cap would be 42% because more than that caused pretty weird issues with the animation.
-
I've only saw this today.
Around the end of the previous month BHVR managed to lose the, let's say, "extra fat" they had after FNAF/anniversary regarding the number of players. After all the hype went away there was something between 50 to 60K players playing for the last hour and 80 or even 90K 24-hour peaks. Now we got back to the number you see in this image which was the normal amount of players back when I've started playing the game four years ago.
Pretty good job so far indeed! S2 -

They have stated that its there to flag the match for them to find and keep record of it. The reason why they prefer video evidence is because that is faster to prove what happened than the log they need to go through. Also harassment does not just happen in the chat.
I have had confirmation in game of exploiters getting banned even when I have not provided video proof of it but still reported them of it.
Best part is that if you record the entire match and send to them and forgot to report in-game they close the ticket saying they can't do nothing.
-
Honestly?
The two reasons that still make me play this game are:1-The amount of time I've invested in this game to let it all go to waste. When I play these days as either surv or killer is a 50/50 between wanting to play (the gameplay is still something unique) and don't wanting to get rusted. Going to another game to learn something from scratch… damn!
2-Having Wesker and Castlevania's Dracula as playable characters. No multiplayer out there has any of these two characters, although I only play Dracula these days because Wesker got caught up in the power crept and is plagued with bugs that makes me mad in a way I don't have fun with him anymore.
I REALLY like Stranger Things and got excited for Vecna, but then I remembered that I'm not spending a dime more in this game until BHVR can release two major patches (the ones that end with a zero) in a row without bugs and this probably will never happen.
Rift almost never has anything licensed (don't give a crap about original content except maps), so this 2v8 I've spend my "rift money" (the 1K Auric I kept to buy the rift and get "refunded") on the new Dracula skin and that's it. -
I ws excited to play some killer when 9.3.0 dropped, but I'm too damn hanged on FFVII Rebirth to stop.
I really would still take a couple hours on Tuesday to play, but after seeing the new QoL pallet update IN REVERSE I gave up.
I don't want a easy win, so I'm not wasting my time until (probably) 9.4.0 mainly because that's when this crap will probably be fixed. -
"Please stop telling survivors to learn how to loop!"
No.

There's no way there adding Ghoul to 2v8 he'll get removed just like legion
Hope so because he's much worse than Legion.
I've just mentioned this because OP included this crap into the "Maybe" tier. -
The moment Kaneki get's added this mode dies for real.
I really love the possibility to play with a friend as killer and hope they do a "Disney" 2v8 adding Xenomorph and Chucky to the roster, but if things don't truly change I'm not playing the next iterations.
The atrocity that is this comeback mechanic that is now being really abused by survivors (this is the reason you see 2 to 4 gens pop at the same time so often), the fact that they need to repair only 6 1v4 gens and, mostly, the lack of new classes or anything meaningful for survs to make them wanting to play to heavily impact the killer queues.
All this should be addressed along the damn cages that keep teleporting survs close to opened gates. -
As much as I'm glad this atrocity of anti tunnel and slug didn't got through I'm also kind pissed off that all this time went right down the toilet which could've been used to fix a lot of bugs.
They said 9.3.0 on release will have the double amount of fixes listed for the PTB patch and this by itself is a joke. That should've been at least FIVE TIMES more. There's A LOT of bugs spread between all killers just for starters.
Operation Health's Operation Health needs an Operation Health. -

You don't think thats a wee bit extreme? Deja Vu save 5 seconds on a gen. So if a survivor with it does two whole gens alone they save a whopping ten seconds. Meanwhile, the average killer is bringing multiple anti-gen perks in almost all my survivor matches, so that 5 seconds isn't anything. Deja Vu's real power is in keeping yourself from getting 3genned.
Yep, it's extreme.
This is to show that I'm in the brink of madness XD (seriously).
I just want to have a match where I face good survs that don't decrease it's time. Chase is the best part after all and with this bunch of crap they keep ending faster and faster.
If I'm beat I want to be by good survs that are not hiding and just fueling the gens with rocket fuel (and they T bag at the end as if they did something skillful). -

Define genrushing then. How many gen perks do you need for a genrush build? Which perks? Which items with which add-ons? How many people need to bring them? Is every survivior clustering on the first gen they see genrushing? Or is spreading to different gens genrushing? Tell me your personal definition because, for such a commonly used term, everyone's is always different.
Makes sense.
ANYTHING survs can stack to increase gen repair speed, but lately I'm so sick of it that even if just one surv brings one gen perk is enough to make me mad.
There's a significant amount of times that a gen just pops on my face for me to get to the result screen and see that the surv had Deja-vu. -

Crap.
Posted without typing the rest.
Anyway, the first option. Tunnel and gen rush are equivalents. Both are braindead, easy strategies.
You can't destroy one without the other kicking the bucket too or else the side who loses their braindead crap first will be at a damn good disadvantage. -

I don't believe the two things are equivalent, nor do I believe the popular narrative that nerfing gens will do anything to stop tunneling, as it already hasn't and they've had plenty of nerfs. True genrushing isn't even a thing since the multiple adjustment to BNPs, which is where the term came from. Killers will spend 90s in chase while spreading zero pressure and cry gen rushing when three gens pop even if no one has a single gen perk or toolbox.
I do.
We've reached a stalemate. -

It incentivizes survs to only do this crap instead of actually learning to be better at looping and playing the game in general.
Replace "survs" with "killers" and you can make this sentence about tunneling.
You didn't read the part that I've said gen rush and tunnel should be exterminated together, right?
Also not defending tunnel, but do do this you require to beat a surv in a chase in most cases.
Gen rush can be accomplished without any skills (unless your reflexes are so bad you can't hit skill checks). -

I'm not talking about the cracked commando SWFs with no weak links that Hens and the like go up against in their showcases. I'm talking about an average Solo/Duo queue where there's pretty much always a guaranteed weak link to exploit. With respect, if you're tunnelling the Survivors that can loop well then you're doing it wrong. Most Killers that tunnel will try to identify a weak chaser early so that they can make it a 3 v 1 to buy the time they need to deal with the more experienced loopers. You don't need to "get good" to pull this off. It's a very basic strategy that works because DBD has a very lax MMR system that doesn't measure skill very well. I don't think "skill" can be measured accurately in DBD anyway. There are way too many variables/perks/Killer powers to take account of.
Trouble is, there's no tension or excitement when a Killer has dumped a Survivor out of the game early. There's nothing left for the remaining Survivors to play for except the hope that maybe you'll be the last man standing and the Killer is gracious enough to give you a shot at finding hatch. So even if you don't get tunnelled out, someone else might and you're still stuck playing out a dead trial with an outcome that's been decided in the first 3 - 5 minutes. Complain about gen rush all you like, but hitting the gens is now the only way to win for Survivors that don't have a spare 2000+ hours to spend watching Mr TatorHead videos and practicing looping. Killer complaints got other alternative strategies like stealth nerfed into the ground.
I think even the most biased Killer main would acknowledge that Killer is by design the easier role to play. It has to be if the 60% kill rate target is to be maintained across the whole Killer roster. Of course, the role gets much harder as you gain more experience and face better opponents but that's true of any game with an MMR system, even one that's as scuffed as DBD's.
The way I see it, you either have a system where everyone queues together but weaker players get more help from the game so they can still have some fun (like in Mario Kart), or you have a much stricter MMR system that measures player skill more accurately, which in the context of DBD probably means that high MMR will be SWFs full of good loopers Vs A-tier Killers and above with very long queue times for skilled players. The community has rejected the first idea, will they like the second idea more? I doubt it, but I guess we'll see…
For Fs sake!
Nothing like this Mario Kart crap please!
People have to start having the awareness that if a game like DbD requires you time to learn and be better and you don't have it, then the game is not for you.
I would love to play FFXIV, but is such time demanding in a way that I, sadly, don't have the time. The game is not for me. -

Gens can be finished solo in 30s and with a partner in 20s.
The build you're referencing is Stakeout, Hyperfocus, BtL, and Bardic, yes? Unlike tunneling, this build is not very common. It also takes set up. You have to linger in the killer's terror radius, then you have to go through the Bardic animation, and receive a random result from it. Then, when you're done with a gen, you have to spend time in a locker for BtL. Factor in all that extra time spent preparing to do a gen instead of just doing it. Three parts of set up when you could have just been on a gen, or brought Resi and Deja Vu while hitting great skill checks. Content creators doing odd or niche things for views isn't a reflection of actual in-game realities from regular players.
It shouldn't be possible regardless.
It incentivizes survs to only do this crap instead of actually learning to be better at looping and playing the game in general. -

It's really not letting the survivors win. I play for 8 hooks but I time manage myself as well. I'm not spending half my game looking for a survivor that's purposely hiding, for example, because it's also on the survivors to realize their hook states are a team resource. I also won't overcommit to a strong looper. Their weakness tends to be altruism and that's where I focus on getting them.
People who 8 hook then kill don't play by "8 hooks or nothing." That's the goal but it's really about time and map management, and honing your skills. It's about purposely avoiding the path of least resistance.
And ultimately, it's about keeping my interest in the game. I need challenge to stay engaged. I still win most of my matches playing this way, and when it's not a win it tends to be a draw. On the odd occasion I walk away with a loss but I don't even care because I know the better players won, and I'm okay with that.
I see your point.
For me it doesn't work if I see two survs together and one of them has more hooks. I'm always going to the one with more hooks because otherwise feels like I'm letting them win. -

I prefer a basekit Pain Res for rotating hooks which would do more or less regression depending of the killer you're playing.
What you suggest seems quite the crap we currently have for 2v8 that survs are abusing AF RN. -
Why OP is being downvoted?

Double what was described in the PTB is not NEARLY enough.

Sounds like you lose to many mind games.
Actually there's another thing that make me don't go for 8 hooks on purpose: it's basically letting survs win.
I hate when this happen to me (someone letting me win), so I'm as hard and relentless as I can be, punish any mistake and expect the same from my opponents in any game.
If a surv that should've escaped didn't because he/she was screwing around I personally drag them to the exit and I refuse to escape if the killer gives me hatch or do shenanigans that allowed me to leave when I'm a surv. -

I personally love challenges and would ignore a recently unhooked surv or go for one of them that has less hook states if I had another thing almost as good as taking one of them out of the match fast.
BUT 8 hooking and win is impossible if you are not Lilith Omen or someone with the same lvl of skill. -

Just put a "Play while you wait" on the 1v4 and i see no issue LOL
But for real, although i understand some people wanted the PTBs changes, they were half-baked and lackluster. It would push casual killers - they do exist, even if some people claim they don't - to other games without helping too much SoloQ and casual survivors. In the end, medium experienced survivors would end up facing tons of comp level killers playing S tiers and very good survs would be gods.
And for survivor… i'm currently playing survivor and i see no issue with the current state of the role. SoloQ is miserable, of course, but not due to lack of perks or because survivors are weak, but because randoms troll a lot.
Without real and effective forms of communications - not voice comms only - SoloQ will still be hell
Hope BHVR works in better solutions and ways to refresh the gameplay without breaking the game balance.
I still don't understand why we don't have a "Comms Wheel" added to the game like this one:

The old "get good" argument. Weird how that never seems to apply to Killers, who should expect to be able to tunnel out the weak link whenever it suits them.
Hens has the takes of a player who has 10,000+ hours in the game, which is probably 10,000 more hours than most people will ever have. He genuinely has some of the worst takes for the health of the game from an average DBD player's point of view. I'd say if BHVR keep listening to highly experienced (and only highly experienced players) like him, they're going to end up with a game that only Hens and his streamer buddies will ever want to play. But I know the game has enough licenses and constant player churn to stay alive indefinitely at this point, so it's a moot point.
I do think if we are to have mixed skill lobbies for the sake of queue times like we do right now, then weaker Survivors need better base-kit defenses against tunnelling and slugging than what we currently have.
Never applies to killers because they indeed have to get good to keep up with all braindead crap survs gets.
Tunnel for example requires you to be good at chases while gen rushing can be pulled by a trained goat, cat, dog or whatever.
I don't like Hens either, but he's right with this take. Dedicate yourself to learn things in general instead of expecting them to get easier.
Balance always have to be done taking high skill at it's base so people have to improve and thus making matches better for everyone.@Rogue11 said:

Generator charges increased from 80 to 90
Toolboxes nerfed multiple times
Stacking repair penalty introduced for multiple survivors on the same gen
Stacking repair penalty increased
Great skill check bonus halved
Reduced gen kicking interaction time
Doubled immediate regression from kicking gens
Requirement to repair 5% to stop regressing gens
Prove Thyself nerfed to give a smaller bonus to coop repair
Survivors spawning together to make spreading out on gens early more difficult
"NONE in all the game lifespan to address gen rushing" btw
All of this and it still not enough because tunnel is still better at dealing with gen speeds. There shouldn't be possible for a single person to finish a gen in 34s or a duo in 22s.
