Like, no other game I can think of has 4/5 member's that can have all agency removed on them for 4minutes straight while still technically being in play. hell, I wouldn't even care if they removed the cumulative build up. a 2-3min prerequisite unbreakable would have just been nice to deal with some of the most boring matches possible without that abandon feature.

I mean, it definitely needed fine-tuning but what we had was definitely OK on the PTB

  • honestly I don’t think tunneling can be fixed in one fell swoop. I think it needs to be a multi-step process split between multiple PTB’s so that the devs can tackle the pain points much easier.

As a Springtrap main I've never found a reason to get overly upset when it comes to this game. Sure, I can get annoyed but never truly upset. I'll just go "Damn, that was rough" and move on. Sometimes I'll win, sometimes I'll lose. Rinse and repeat. No point wasting my energy getting upset over something that doesn't matter

I would agree, though I dislike the idea of completely removing it.

I'd rather it just not be the go-to best strategy, but it may just be easier to remove it entirely.

why not just give killers rewards that benefit them? Like say you’re playing as a ranged killer like huntress or artist and you get a unique hook, you would be able to see the aura of survivors that haven’t been hooked yet. Or with trap killers like merchant or trapper have generators become blocked for a few seconds so that they can set up.

  • is that a threat?

  • @BlackRabies said:

Killer anxiety is a real thing and your not alone.

Sad that BHVR hasn't done anything to help players with it. Since there's so much more pressure, stress and toxicity on the killer compared to the survivor.

I did not know it had a name

Just got skull merchant to p100, without playing her in a couple weeks lol. Its the fact that you enjoy the killers gameplay mechanics and then when it comes time to clicking killer/survivor your hit with the bp bonus, the fact that you don't expect to win as survivor but you do as killer, and that its easier to die in a group rather than being the one that has to outplay an entire group and strive to win the whole time.

It's been so long SM has been turned into tree food for Sheltered Woods. That's where they got all the pallets from!

honestly considering how long it’s been since they first announced they were going to rework her. I’m just happy she’s getting anything at this point. Too bad she’s still going to be the worst killer in the game though.

  • @WalterBlack said:

Many of the things changed in recent patches all lead to the same outcome - weaker killers getting punished, driving Killer players to play characters which are viable - Nurse, for example. Pinhead was supposed to get a buff before his license got revoked, and the PTB features a change that will completely destroy his ability to even use his power by making Survivors with Endurance invincible.

Pallet density changes that only impact lower-tier Killers that actually have to bother with pallets, long-lasting protections Nurses don't give a ######### about while Onryo has to jog around for a minute and a half before even getting close to the Survivor.

Bugs that remain "acknowledged" by the developers in forum and Reddit posts alike, which somehow never make the bug fixes page in the patch notes.

And the Survivors you play against as a low-tier Killer. Jesus Christ. Have a particularly rough match and Survivors will do everything in their power to make you feel miserable, but then complain when they only face Nurses and Blights.

Come on. I want to play more different Killers than I feel like I can now. Where are the Pinhead buffs that were promised, where are the fixes that Houndmaster so desperately needs, where is the real QoL The Skull Merchant was promised?

I keep parroting my opinion all the time, but I feel all S-Tiers/hyper mobility needs brought down to Wesker's level. That's when I'll have a more consistently fun time in this game. I don't need to win all the time, I just want chases that are fun as a casual player.

I play lots of killer and playing someone like Unknown while they exist is just irritating

Yeah they just keep leaving the strongest killers untouched while nerfing someone like Skull merchant or Unknown for just existing.

  • @crogers271 said:

I don't know. People have complained about tunneling for years, they are finally listening to those complaints. People complained about the last PTB, and BHVR listened to those complaints. Seems much more like they are trying to find the line between groups who have different desires for the game.

Some of the bugs and PR has been abysmal recently, that's true.

Otzdarva has a video that goes way more in depth into the PTB if you want to learn more about that because this post really isn’t about the PTB it’s really just me venting out my frustrations with the game recently

this is the survey that you get after uninstalling DBD and also where the devs got the information about slugging being the main reason for people uninstalling. The problem here is that the only role specific options here are against Killers only. So no wonder they never mentioned why Killers uninstall because it apparently isn’t even a priority for them.

I just woke up, what the hell happend?

  • OK I’m not even gonna lie. I feel like I just genuinely threw that one in for no reason

    @Vess said:

@TheGoon224 There is also the empty bracket where you can describe the problem, some people could have use it to tell about slugging.

I personally really don't see it in my games now. Like when I started and was in the newbie hell - yes it was often there - and maybe it is the case here. But now it is really hard for me to find a Killer that love to slugg. I like survival/altruistic builds, so I even run for a while "We're gonna live forever", but I very rarely had a use of it and it where just cases when someone was on the ground because some circumstances in match.

  • @XDgamer018 said:

I would change a few things about springtrap

#1 Reduce the time you cannot interact with an item after throwing/missing the axe. (Ie if you miss at shack you simply lose the chase since your locked out of vaulting etc for a solid 2-3 seconds)

#2 make his terror radius slowly lower until undetectable (survivors can make it go back via cams)

#3 cams should only be able to be used WITHIN the office

#4 fix the grab prompt. Ive had multiple times where it just scams me bc the prompt is gone for a few miliseconds. Resulting in a baby lunge meaning i lose valuable time

#5 make him 4.6ms in my opinion his axe does not warrant 4.4ms regardless of if he has his axe in his inventory.

I timed how long it takes for Spingtap to actually do anything after throwing the axe and I think it’s around 2.5 seconds

  • @Pulsar said:

Because when they saw the rework, the die-hard Adriana defenders said they wouldnt accept it unless it was SM 2.0

Scrapping the rework makes sense for BHVR. They are in a no-win situation with SM. The mains will never be happy unless they bring back a problematic version of the Killer, and the rest of the players will never accept that version.

everyone loved the buddy drone. I think it was just the drone dashing that people had a problem with especially after the release Krasue, I don’t think anyone wants a killer that has five of them.

  • @AhoyWolf said:

All she is getting is a revert to some of her nerfs, making the beam faster pretty much just band-aids her having one less beam, she didn't use to have the fast vault immunity, and during that time she was still bad with it…

She shouldn't have a cooldown on placing a drone at all really, you could remove it and tie the undetectable to some other specific action, like recalling a drone or when a Survivor disables a drone, so now you wouldn't have to awkwardly change both the cooldown and the undetectable at the same time.

We were hyped for a rework just for it to get post-poned / scrapped again? These buffs won't do anything, she will still be bad, not fun to play against, not fun to play as because she is weak.

I don't get it, waiting a year just for this it's pathetic.

I’m going to be honest I’ve played this killer since her release and not once did the community’s opinion change about her. I still get the occasional death threat for playing the killer I like. Hurts even more when you realize that there’s a very obvious solution to rework this killer that won’t cause the skull merchant population to collapse more than it already has but I’m not a game dev so who really knows.

  • @supersonic853 said:

Remember when people celebrated her obliteration because "its just till they rework her she can last till then". Shoulda listened to the killers saying it wont work out that way and dont let that precedent be passed. Well it happened and here we are. Noticeably most of the people defending it are gone now lol.

Im not saying that I’m unhappy with my killer finally getting something after a year but they gotta be joking if they think these buffs are gonna bring out of the grave they put her in.

  • @SoGo said:

Didn't they say that they will continue on with rework attemtpts if people end up unhappy with this one?

    that’s why I said consider

  • @Rickprado said:

They've softed killswitched the Skull Merchant to do a rework and then they are just asking if numerical changes are enough. Really disappointing.

it sucks so much more when you realize that we might not even get buddy drone now… we waited a year just for numeral buffs😔

  • @Rudjohns said:

because they want to preserve her gameplay style for the people who enjoy it, but they reworked Myers? What about the people who enjoyed his old style? Why not just rework Skull Merchant and leave a couple of add-ons that retain her current style? It makes no sense

Having said that, revert Myers and make his "rework" an add-on please. New Myers suck.

my ass was laughing during the stream when I heard them genuinely consider canceling the rework if these changes were good enough. Dawg, she wasn’t even good before the nerfs.

  • @CosmicScarab said:

Lithe isn't even the best exhaustion perk. SB and DH are both far better.

I’m pretty sure dramaturgy is even better than Lithe because that perk is basically just old dead hard.

  • @BorisDDAA said:

You get downvoted because your posts are just complaining about something then offer no solution. But no it must be survivor bias.

I don’t even think Lithe on its own is a problem. Like don’t get me wrong this perk basically turns any Survivor into a Neanderthal with two brain cells competing for third place but on its own I don’t think it’s problematic. I think the real problem is when it’s combined with perks like Finesse and W.O.O is where it actually becomes a bit of an issue. So no, you don’t need Nerf Lithe you just need to nerf the perks that make Lithe what it is.

The devs keep bringing up that tunneling, camping and slugging are unhealthy parts of the game, but never why they accure. A big component as to why these situations happen is because the killer role just doesn´t have enough tools to combat things like fast gen speeds, rapid healing speeds or just purely unbalanced maps.

When are tool boxes going to be addressed ?

I think the biggest reason for tunneling is gens speeds and that the average killer mathematically can not keep up with a commodious tool box and addons like Socket swivels, Wire spool and Brand new part. If you´ve ever played on EU servers then you probably know the dread of seeing a tool box or two in your lobby as killer and going against multiple brand new parts leaving you with no option but to tunnel. Not to mention that even if a survivor doesn´t have a tool box they are going to spawn next to a generator and can instantly start working on it (that is if you don´t have corrupt intervention or mobility), which puts the killer at a severe disadvantage.

When are healing speeds going to be addressed ?

In the recent developer stream they have mentioned that they are going to look at addons like syringes and styptics, but that still doesn´t change the fact that a lot of healing perks this year got massively buffed making strategies like hit&run way less impactful. While antiheal perks like sloppy butcher and franklins got heavely nerfed. Which leads killers to do the next best thing, which is tunneling and camping.

Are there any options even left ?

If the antitunnel, camp and slugging changes go through I don´t think the killer has any option but to, well play like a bot. Just instakick the freshly added 20 pallets to every map and go after the first survivor you see. Which at that point why not impelement killer bots into normal matches because to be frank, I doubt anyone is going to play a role with no agency and no choices to choose from. An opinion which is already being echoed by content creators taking breaks from playing killer.

honestly I only tunnel at like 2 gens just because that’s like the only time where I’m just like thinking to myself. Oh crap I’m losing and I need to actually try now. But recently it’s kind of increased because dear God, the pallet density changes make it difficult to catch anyone especially when your main killer is M1.The only time I will ever tunnel a freshly unhooked Survivor though is if they’re running into me because they think endurance is like the equivalent of a Mario invincibility star.

  • @Abbzy said:

Saddly she suffers from which not nice looking people must have bad character, she is judged as bad but in reality she is below average killer with nothing game breaking and only things that broke her was gen spawns creating easy 3 gens with gen kicking regression meta which with her deffensive playstyle made her look but but in reality she is way worse than wraith.

Survivor mains will hate every post where she is mentioned same with ghoul or clown, legion they arent considered as fun and good killers by majority of player base.

Thats kinda just the price you gotta pay for playing merchant. (THE MERCHANT TAX)

  • @ObsidianButterfly said:

The "buffs" don't do anything because they also nerfed other aspects. She will still be the worst killer in the game.

I'm happy it's in active development, and I feel like there will be massive changes to my favorite killer. I like the fact we have fresh visual effects and hopefully dialogue. I'm very confident that they're working with Trickster Mei to make these changes good for him. BUT As mentioned in the last roadmap, we have an Easter egg because there are some letters that spell the word "style." What do you think it could refer to in regards to its rework? Please, BHVR, don't leave us hanging and at least let us know if we'll have more information about it before the end of the year :(

    possible devil may cry reference

    Genuinely did miss this feature

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/63RMSRXIXW0U/1000000757.png

But it should be based on the design preview where you can still see little bit of the highlights to at least get some information to the survivors pov to give little counterplay

I think it’d be pretty cool if while in stealth mode, the drones didn’t rotate so that they would act more like trip wires.

I guess that's the issue, isn't it? He might be onboard with doing it, heck he could even record them, but he doesn't get to make the decision if Bhvr can add the voice lines to the game.

yeah I mean you do have a point there. Also, I’m just gonna say this now I liked Hayley’s version of Freddy. I just wish that platinum dunes didn’t write Freddy into being a word, I cannot say because chat filter will censor it.

  • @Xray said:

The best we could get is Robert voicing the freddy we have now which would be weird considering how remake freddy is more serious compared to the dark comedian that roberts freddy was.

Depends, how good of a chance is there of Jackie Earl Hayley wanting to voice Freddy?

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

We don't have Robert Englund's Freddy in Dbd. We have Jackie Earl Hayley's remake Freddy from the 2010 movie.

I know, but even if that is the case, I would literally take either Hayley’s or England’s version of the character. I just want this man to have voice lines because Freddy without voice lines is like Michael Myers having a dash attack… oh wait.

  • @SAWII said:

Unfortunately, Robert Englund doesn’t own the rights to ANOES or Freddy Krueger, so it doesn’t matter how willing he is. If BHVR could’ve gotten the original Freddy from the license holders, they would have by now.

actually weirdly enough thats the case with this chapter. It was pretty much either they get this Freddy or no Freddy

  • it wasn’t an interview. It was just some guy that met him at a convention. But even then he has said on several occasions that he would be find voicing the character cause he’s getting too old to play the character physically.

Recently, we released a quality-of-life update that adjusted how pallets were laid out across certain Realms. We'd love to dig into the specifics of what you like and don't like to help inform future adjustments.

In this thread, let's focus on the Crotus Prenn Asylum Realm. How do you feel about the quantity of pallets here? Are there specific areas you feel have too many or not enough pallets? Share your feedback here - the more specific and detailed you can be, the better! Bonus points if you can share screenshots!

And as for this poll, overall, how do you feel about the current state of pallets in the Crotus Prenn Asylum Realm?

Crotus Prenn was the last map that needed help brother

  • McMillan was one of the most balanced maps in the game before the update in my opinion, which is why you see it in tournaments pretty frequently just because it was pretty fair but now? it is definitely more survivor sided.

  • I will be honest Haddonfield is definitely the map that needed this the most since this map contained way too many dead zones that are like in the middle of the street so the map does feel pretty fair to play on now sometimes I say sometimes because you still have those situations where a pallet will spawn 5 m within another one like I have had a truck loop spawn within not even 5 m of the car loop that’s in front of the Myers house so while the map definitely feels more fair to play on now for both sides but dear god do they sometimes have the weirdest spawn logic

How on earth is this considered "fixing Dredge's weapon issues"? Can you for reals just move the majority of the weapons AND the arms, so they are off screen? Does anyone actually think it's "immersive" to block about 50% of the important parts of the screen?

Remember that 99% of the important stuff is happening around ground level. And these weapons are covering up around 50% of that area. You can't just say "most of the sky isn't obstructed, so it's fixed", when 99% of the time I don't care about the visibility of the sky area unless it's a multi-floor building or multi-floor map, AND the survivor is in line of sight AND on a floor above.
