  • @Entità hmm... not really. One of the issues with the end game.. is having it come to an end, within a reasonable amount of time so it isn't boring for either side. You also don't want to make a situation that players can take advantage of, especially against weaker killers / players.

If that survivor is good, having no scratch marks could make it so they will never leave... maybe they will try and attempt getting gens done... maybe not.. maybe you killed their 3 SWF noob friends... and they want to teach you a lesson and hide for 10+ minutes at the end, since you can't track them. Unless you got whispers or something.

I don't know what the answer is really... but I don't want to trade one stand off for another.

You have no way of forcing that last survivor out of the game, until they want to leave.

  • @Entità I don't know how you play killer, but after a couple gens pop, I pretty much know where all the gens are without looking at their auras.... If survivors pop the gens and give the killer a 3 or 4 gen strat before there is only one survivor left.... There would be no way of that survivor could work on a gen for more than 5 seconds at a time without the killer knowing where they are.

If that survivor had to work on multiple gens.. meaning all the remaining gens, since focusing on only 2 or 3 would easily tip off to the killer where you are. This could make it a 10 minute ending to a 4 minute match.

  • @Carpemortum It isn't about changing content when it is released bugged, and you never really get the actual product you paid for originally.

  • @Nea_Death_Experience I beg to diff. There is 2 sides of the coin.

Survivor can't lose the killer, as admitted to by the OP. The Killer was good enough to keep the chase going.

Killer can't catch the survivor, but doesn't leave the chase.

Both aren't playing correctly based on the emblems.

Also.. As mentioned above about the specific scenarios, i.e. with Freddy.

The emblems are a generic representation of skill and playstyle the Devs want. So either you are good at that to earn points or not.

Not saying their does or doesn't need to be adjustments to emblems or whatever.. but this is my take on emblems.

Since RNG plays a big portion... What map... The tiles... What killer are you facing.. what addons are they taking... what survivor are using which perks.. what items and addons to they have....

All that plays a role in skewing the measurement of the emblems. When people use specific scenarios about one killer.. that doesn't reflect on the emblems but the skewing effect RNG plays on emblems. Since as a survivor you have no idea which killer, which map, nor which add-ons and offerings the killer players is using.

The killer can skew the odds in their favour, just as survivors can skew the odds into theirs.

Emblems then represent that generic skill and playstyle for each player in that match.

So as Peanits mentioned about about the Freddy scenario, it doesn't matter if Freddy can see your aura, by going out terror radius. As the survivor player, you should know he can do that, and play accordingly. Thus if you still can't lose Freddy, then you didn't adjust properly to the RNG, thus the emblems reward you for not playing correctly to the match.

  • At first I thought this was a troll post.. then I seen all the novels.. and decided... I don't have an hour to catch up on this one.

  • I doubt EAC would ever start banning them without notifying BHVR. Simply because if they took a reading on how many players they would instantly ban, it could upset their client.

I doubt BHVR would like to wake up to a surprise ban wave of a 1000+ accounts simply because EAC decided to ban for those changes.

  • Some of the dailies don't really make sense to me.... You get 30K for opening an exit gate with a certain survivor... Then you get 30K for shocking 4 survivors as the Doctor.

One could take you a few matches depending on how hard you are trying... and the other in about a minute. Maybe two minutes if those survivors jump in lockers before you can get the first tier of madness on them, by walking close by.

  • @Zanfer I was thinking more along giving out punishments to help prevent it. Also is someone leaves before the match starts but after it started loading, it might be easier to throw another into the lobby. Maybe even publish that players DC to Match Played ratio.

  • Yeah it is a weird one... Making it not notify the survivor they are exposed would be cool.

Kind of like BT against the killer. They have no idea the survivor has the BT effect going until they hit the survivor. So maybe it could be the same? It isn't a totem perk so how come they need to be told they are exposed?... Kind of like Make Your Choice aswell.

Why the survivor see's their exposed after unhooking is odd for me... might be more be more fun the less you knew.

  • @Zanfer I was just thinkin in terms of people DCing (leaving the match). Wasn't really thinking about the crashes and being dc'd from the host on startup.

  • They aren't talking much about it cause they will soon be rolling out the Dedicated Servers, which should help with allot of the stuff... I hope.

No sense spending too many resources on the P2P model since it is going out the window.

  • @Peanits Then wouldn't we be running into a situation where the emblems don't properly reflect the skill or playstyle that is desired, since the game itself prevents this from happening due to RNG and different mechanics in the game that could negate the method of measuring that skill or playstyle?

  • @twistedmonkey yee... I get what you are saying... but emblems are the reflection of skill and playing the way the devs want. If you are at the same rank, then you should be roughly the same skill level. So if you are the survivor being chased, it is important to lose the killer.

The OP mentioned they couldn't lose them... so their skills are matched. Who then plays better?... The survivor who is trying to break the chases, but can't... or the killer who can't win the chase but won't leave that chase either.

If you got someone who is really good at chases, they will want to the chase to go on for 5 gens, without them every attempting to lose the killer. That player shouldn't be rewarded.

However how do you tell the difference between the legit player who can't beat the killer, or the player who can beat the killer no problem, but chooses not too.

  • Don't forget those with Samhainophobia.

  • But didn't both the killer and survivor played poorly?

So why should the survivor who got chased by a bad killer get rewarded with a white pip? They couldn't lose the bad killer. So both levels of skill were the same?...

The survivor who couldn't lose the killer, the killer who couldn't catch the survivor and move onto another target.

I thought the idea of emblems was to promote "proper" play. Not players who can troll a bad killer around the whole map and get rewarded with rank.

  • One good thing to do aswell... If no one mentioned it is...

Don't got onto people profiles to make negative comments just cause you either lost, or got insulted in the end game chat.

  • oh interesting... they did change the text... gonna have to try it out tonight.

    The previous one said...

"With The Legion, while in Killer Instinct, down a total of 25 individual Survivors."

  • Check youtube.. there is a few vids on how to do it...they made a change to Legion after release, and it made getting that achv a bit tougher.

  • @SmokePotion Well everyone has done it.. does it. I DC'ed a couple times last week as killer cause I didn't feel like playing against a few OoO SWF groups back to back and got bored.

There is stuff in the game that people don't find fun sometimes, so I understand why they may do it. He doesn't do it very often so that is why I wouldn't see it as an issue, but some people do.

If people got penalized for DCing a bit more harshly... or/and the Devs took it more seriously, then I don't believe there would be any need for a petition.

It is extremely easy to snipe in if you are the same rank... in this current match making. The new Match Making where it groups up everyone before sorting into lobbies... I didn't have any luck in getting in. I found the new MM much harder to try and snipe in.

One tip is to stop and start their stream before they go into a lobby.. so that it will resync the delay and make it easier to guess.

  • @SmokePotion I was reading this post.. I don't disagree with it if people would like that. I'm just making a comment about your comment on "Vince"... I like vince too.. some people see me in his lobby the odd time when I'm near his rank and can snipe in. I enjoy his entertainment with DBD, can be pretty funny.

But the comment about intentionally DC'ing?... He does that.. Probably once a night... For the same reasons most do it.. There is something unfun about a particular situation from the start or during the match and they are gone.

For example.. Get mount Osmond with Vince as killer.. You'll most likely get a DC from him. You slug him while you sweat as a killer to prevent the 4th survivor from getting hatch and hunt them instead of hooking Vince... You'll get him DC'ing.

No offense to Vince or anything, I enjoy his content, but what you said is incorrect. I've watched him pretty regularly for almost 2 years now.

TBH I think everyone at some point as DC'ed... Especially if they have a few hundred hours plus. I would be a hypocrite if I said or pretended I haven't.

  • You pretty much have to make sure you hook all 4 at least once... since doing that gives you an emblem point directly. Don't do that you are pretty much outta luck.

  • @Fres0c0 We can only assume that this was the intention. Since we've been told the perk is bugged against the Nurse.. but not told exactly what the bug is. Cause if it is just bugged against normal hits from the nurse that is ok... but if it is bugged where Nurse blink hits are to count...

    Then that changes everything.

But... who knows if it will even be fixed. The DLC was only released on the 2nd.. so I'm guessing 2 months from now we'll actually get what we paid for in the DLC.

  • I think it was switched over awhile ago. They did a bait and switch on everyone, which seems to be their thing lately. It looks like they modified the interface to match that of the previous one. The MM seems to act like the new one, but look like the old one.

I guess so people stop complaining as much when they notice a difference.

Now they can turn around and say... Well it has been running for a week know.. didn't you notice?

  • It is hard to be nice to them when you start feeling like they are attempting to scam you.

  • I'm giving up myself.

I just want the product I purchased fixed first before they even consider making changes. To me right now, the company is acting in a fraudulent manner in placing a description on the store page and not providing what was originally promised.

If they make modifications on the MOM perk before fixing it, then everyone purchased the product that wasn't working correctly, not fixed, and not the product that was listed on the store page.

The company is acting in a manner which makes me question if I should be their customer.

I don't care what the perk is... I want the perk that was listed on the store page fixed. If BHVR wants to take feedback and make changes that is ok. However the very first priority is to release a fix for the original product sold. Not bait and switch me on their product, this is very dishonest way to conduct business.

  • Yeah the issue with the Threshold is that it is based on a percentage rather than a fixed number. Since streamers play allot, usually, they will never reach a percentage threshold.

  • To be honest the release of the Evil Dead DLC seems to sum up quite a bit of the reason. At least for me.

Other players may have other issues with the game and BHVR. Mine is way this DLC is handled.

I can deal with bugs.. I've enjoyed the game for several years now.. bought all the DLC with monies and a couple Cell packs for cosmetics. Not a huge deal, I def got my entertainment out of the game and I'm thankful to BHVR for providing that to me. Thanks.

But... One thing that really rubs me the wrong way is basically how BHVR is treating this Evil Dead DLC.

The DLC gets released. People purchase it and begin playing it, then realize there is a bug with MOM. One of the lead developers confirms it is bugged.

Now we come to today, with no fix for that bug but the product is still on the store page being sold. BHVR is taking peoples money but not fixing what people have paid for on the store originally.

We get told they are taking feedback. Feedback for what? The perk itself. Ok. However, I still purchased your product, so when is that product going to be fixed. FIRST. I don't care about adjustments or changes that need to be made, I want the original product I agreed to purchase, fixed. Simple.

BHVR takes several weeks to make modifications to perks and mechanics cause they want to see how people handle them and take stats on that feedback. So they are already looking at changing MOM? However MOM hasn't actually worked correct to what was purchased.

As a PLAYER I can take allot... I can handle the bugs in this game.. as I still enjoy it. I understand "#########" happens and bugs appear that didn't in testing. For example.. The Plague... You hit a survivor down with corrupt purge while they cleansing and you couldn't pick up the survivor. Ok... that crap happens.

As a CUSTOMER I can't take being offered a product, not have it work correctly on release, then being told they are taking "feedback" BEFORE they are fixing the original product.

As a CUSTOMER, I don't think I can accept that from BHVR. To me I feel they are being dishonest to me as a customer by offering me a product they are not fixing and instead are changing right from the get go. So the product being sold on the store now, IS NOT, the product people are actually purchasing.

THIS TO ME IS DISHONEST AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY THE DEVELOPER BHVR.

I will really be questioning any further purchases from BHVR in the future. This is definitely something that has come out of this DLC.

  • My issue is we purchased a new DLC with a hot button perk the Devs know will be a concern for some players... They released it bugged and still haven't fixed it yet, but took everyones money for it.

  • It is probably better when people come in to say why they are leaving... cause of what people say above.

I've noticed allot of time, from my experience I speak from, that people won't say anything and leave it mostly unnoticed. So if you have one person that mentioned a critique of your product, there usually are others that feel the same way.

So we would have to guess how many people per "i'm leaving" threads that could include.

  • My guess would be that you go down, cause it wasn't a direct hit.

But that is a good question.

  • TBH the perk isn't too bad, except against a couple killers so far.. from what I've seen. Trapper sucks against it, since you need to get them in traps for it not to trigger Mom.

What sucks to me about the perk, is it was released bugged.

I didn't buy the DLC for the perks, but I also didn't buy it to have it bugged on release either.

I personally am beginning to feel scammed by BHVR at this point.

All we got so far is some acknowledgement that MOM is bugged. However I already paid my money. BHVR got their money however I still didn't get the product I purchased as described on the store page.

  • Maybe they should just fix it first.

  • The issue I see is...

Devs know MOM is going to be the next hot button perk like DS was.

Devs don't test it properly, knowing they should make sure it actually works properly....

We get a new bugged perk once again.

So those that spent money on Ash to get the perk, you got sold a lemon. Cause now what is happening is the Devs are sitting back and evaluating the feedback... So the perk might be changed right off the start.

  • I think it is funny some of the little survivors coming on here to talk about MOM and about killer mains... and are totally oblivious to what the actual issue is.

Devs make a new perk, they know will be a hot button perk like DS.

Devs don't test it properly and release it bugged.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

    That is the issue.

  • My issue with MOM is that we got a bugged perk on release once again.

  • @DwightsLifeMatters There should be no difference... it all comes down to them programming it properly.

  • Well there seems to also be confusion on what is actually bugged..

Even peanits above doesn't explain what is actually bugged...

Is it the blink attack not being counted as a hit?

Or is it the blink attack is not activating the perk once the survivor is hit down, when they've taken 3 basic attack hits?

    WHAT IS ACTUALLY BUGGED?

There is actually a really important distinction on what is bugged about the perk. The one means ALL M1 killers got a nerf.. while the other does not.

  • @DwightsLifeMatters said:

Newest informations I recently picked up:

A combination of M2 + followed up with M1 counts as a stack for MoM (and also as a trigger to activate). M2 by itself doesn't count.

It's currently bugged that's why the first case (m2 + followed up m1) doesn't trigger MoM.

Basically, nearly all killers don't have counter against MoM after it got "fixed"

Is that the bug??.. Cause we don't seem to be getting any details on it... just the words... "bugged"...

what actually is bugged?... Just the activation of the perk when the player gets 3 hits?... Or the Blink Attacks not counting towards a hit?

Cause what I'm seeing as what is being told.. the nurse blink attacks aren't being counted when they should... So is that wrong?

  • Well it seems like the Devs want all M1 killers to suck even more than they do.

So if you want to play the Wraith.. forget it now.

IMO, Every survivor will start to take MOM cause it will negate 2 hits each game from the killer.

I guess survivors like Hill Billy right?... We all see him allot anyways.. so get used to it... Hill Billy every match!

  • There needs to be more details from the people that made the perk on your team.. I don't think everyone on the team seems to know what is going on.

The Devs need to release what they consider "special" and basic attacks on all their Killers.

  • @thesuicidefox The Doc gets an attack bonus if he hits a survivor right after a shock attack like the Wratih. The Clown is like this aswell. Once you intoxicate the survivor and hit them, you get a wasted. Both these are their "special" attacks in my view. Freddy also gets a Dream Chaser bonus, if he hits a survivor right after pulling them into the dream world.

Myers is the only one where the killer doesn't get a bonus for the one shot hit. But like you mentioned it could be just a state thing, where being in EW3 would just not cause hits to count.

but one of the Devs stated that the Nurse Blink attack counts.. Which means these M1 killers don't have any sort of special attack.

So that leaves only a couple of killers... Billy and Leatherface who have the ability to one shot and not have their attack count.

Since PIG's attack is called Dash and is a M1.... Spirit... Hag.. All fall in with no special attacks then. If the Nurse is bugged... Then all these too must be bugged.

So are the Developers telling us... To use Hill Billy all the time?.... I thought Billy was one of the best killers in the game, right next to Nurse.. Now the Devs state.. Killers should only take Hill Billy? Cause why take the other killers??? In the hopes none of the survivors take MOM?

What are you trying to tell use BHVR? I'm kind of lost for words at this moment after playing your game for 3 years.

  • So the Nurse blink hit is supposed to count toward MOM? So that means the Wraith's Surprise Attack is also supposed to count towards MOM?

The description states "After getting hit 3 times by a Killer's basic attack"...

So every M1 killer... (Basically any killer who can't down without using their special attack directly to inflict injruy.) will have every attack count toward MOM?

I didn't think the Nurse Blink Attack was a basic attack.

So basically.. Take only one hit killers LULS... THANKS DEVS! I have no problem being forced to take Hill Billy all the time... I just didn't like to because I found him to easy sometimes to play.

  • What is the bug though?... The Blink hit?.. Or the nurse standing still and hitting with m1 normal? Or is it both not counting?

  • Each killer should have a way of hitting without activating a hit on MOM. Otherwise that killer gets a nerf. Since why bother playing them anymore if someone can take in MOM and negate their hits.

Kind of like how players in the past didn't like small game auras, since it negated the Trapper's traps.

It would be really weird for the Devs to come out with a perk that would nerf killers like doctor, freddy or myers... But if all the killers are on the same playing field with MOM than taking out survivors using special attacks the whole match shouldn't be a problem. Cause each survivor has to take 3 normal hits and 3 special attack hits, and you'll could as killer, never trigger off MOM and kill survivors on the hook as per normal without really worrying about it.

  • Yee... Freddy / Wraith / Doctor have attacks that get a bonus like the Hag... So it shouldn't count.

Myers on the other hand doesn't get any additional bonus if hitting while in EW3. So not sure if that would ever not count.

  • Well basically... it is a bugged perk put on release.

It doesn't look like the Devs tested it, since if it works against the Hags phantasm attack, then the testers failed or the Devs didn't properly describe the perk to everyone.

Would be nice to get a verified list of attacks made by each killer and if the perk is affected or not.

Cause otherwise... If you use your special attacks all the time, then it shouldn't matter to many players.

I don't mind taking Billy and being forced to one shot everyone...Nurse.. Only blink attacks... Wraith always surprise attacks... etc..

  • @HeHeBoii Love it... Players play with it for a few hours after release... MOST OP PERK EVER!

Sums up the community with a good troll post.

  • @DudeDelicious but that isn't what the majority of survivors want... Haven't you picked that one up yet? Why put out a perk that players don't want.. cause everyone then bitches about how the Devs keep putting out ######### perks. They put out a good perk.. the other side can only complain about it.

I don't think people still get the idea people don't want ######### perks all the time. Putting out a stealth perk might be good for killers but isn't good for survivors.

Killers be crying IT'S OUT OF CONTROL!!!...

    Holy #########

  • holy #########.. LULS

I haven't laughed soo hard after reading some of these post in the beginning.

Some you are acting like MOM has been out for a month or so and you are getting it all the time... LULS

Hey... It was released yesterdays... not even 24 hours ago....

    LULS

You don't expect people not to try out the perk with different combos..

I can't believe my eyes with the trash I'm reading already from some people.

  • Is this a bait thread?.. Ruin?... one of the most useless perks in the game.
