If this isn't allowed feel free to delete.
The latest update to this game has made it abundantly clear BHVR not only doesn't want survivors to play stealthy, but they are going to do everything they can to prevent it. Don't get me wrong..... It's their game and they have that right. I even understand why they don't want survivors to play that way.
Having said that the reason I started playing this game and the reason I continued to do so is because I enjoyed the cat and mouse aspect of the game. I don't enjoy the chase simulator style. That's not a knock. It's not a complaint. It's just my personal preference. The most enjoyment I get from this game is watching a killer walk away after not being able to find me. That was already next to impossible with aura reveals, scream perks, etc. But the update to crows has completely shut that down.
Is anyone aware of any other games out there where stealth is not only part of the game but perhaps even a welcome and vital part of the game?
If you don't mind me asking, would you be open to sharing which recent changes have impacted the stealthy playstyle you prefer?
When it comes to collecting feedback and bringing it back to the team, it really helps to have specifics, and I want to make sure I have an accurate read on what you're describing here. -

SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE: Springtrap was invisible for over 30s. Axe was visible and floating, he still produced sound and had collision. This is NOT the same issue as previously after his release.
PLATFORM: Steam
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THE ISSUE OCCURED: He might've teleported, I'm unsure as the door was not in LOS of the gen i was on. I heard his footsteps and he was invisible. Stayed invisible through hitting me, downing me, and hooking me. It was only until later that he reappeared.
Thanks for flagging this! This is something I'd love to get in front of the team to look into. If you have access to your player logs, that would help greatly with their investigation.

Can confirm, additional perk presets are still on the way as part of Phase 2! We'll have more to share about this soon, so sit tight.

so basically you lose collision if you get 3 crows but we increased the crow timer by DOUBLE recently, and being near the killer, like in a bodyblocking situation makes the crows take LONGER to come?
How do we expect players to figure it out on trials without reading the patchnotes? its better to naturally remove collision if you are touching the killer for too long (like my last comment) waiting for crows is unreliable at best and until you get them most people will just DC
You bring up a good point about surfacing information like this to players in-game. It's absolutely feedback I can make sure is shared with the team.
While it's certainly not ideal to be body blocked for this much time, this is one of the circumstances the AFK Crows system exists to help address, and we'll be sure to let the team know if the timing for this to occur starts feeling like its on the long side.

I suggest as killer you try running lethal persuer. Most games now, (with all 5 of us running bloodpoint offerings, so no offerings changing it are in play) survivors just spawn like they used to. I don't think it is actually working right.
I appreciate you grabbing footage of this! In the meantime, would you be able to elaborate on what you're specifically seeing in terms of the Survivor spawns? That would help us check if something odd's going on here.

Update: after doing some trials on bots the perk really isnt showing the yellow hook stage until you hook the shoulder the burden user, in the past once you had used the perk you would scream and automatically show the golden counter, but RN it only shows after the user get hooked.
If its not intended or in the patchnotes, just kill switch the perk until a fix comes out, it does not need explanation on why its a bad idea to leave it be while its broken

Did BHVR at least acknowledge that the hook counter (golden stripe) is completely bugged on the killer's HUD, and doesn't appear when the perk activates?
This has been bugged for a while, and it makes the perk super awful to go against.
Thanks for sharing this video and flagging it to me. Let me take that back to the team to make sure it's on their radar for investigation.

WHILE CLOAKED!!!! Currently the Wraith cannot interact with anniversary Totems, or use the invitation ability to break pallets unless he UNCLOAKS. this is very frustrating as the wraith can Pick up the scrolls invitations while cloaked. Can this be looked into?
This is absolutely a piece of feedback I can make sure is shared with the team. While it's not something I would expect to see change before the end of the event, it's valuable feedback in a more general sense for the Killer.

@PatchNoir said:
Idk if the perk is bugged (and if its disable it) but i am consistently getting trials that i hook the same person 5+ times and the survivor just doesnt die. On endgame chat there is always someone with shoulder the burden BUT during the trial NEVER ever happenned to someone get the yellow hook indicator.
So basically the perk is bugged and not showing indication on being used, or cheaters are using it as a escapegoat to get infinite hooks (like in the past they used to pick vigil to justify sprint bursting all game)
As mentioned above, would you happen to have video of this or player logs from a match where this occurred? That way, I can share those with the team to investigate what may be occurring here.

Hello folks! Coming back to what we shared after the second Skull Merchant Design Preview, the community's feedback was shared with the design team, who took this into consideration when looking at what's next for Skull Merchant's rework. Not only did this feedback highlight aspects of the design that folks liked the concept of, it also highlighted aspects that didn't land well. That's okay! As I mentioned before, both sides of this are important parts of the design sauce!
We will share more about Skull Merchant when the time is right, but don't currently have any updates to share at the moment.

Hey there folks! Just popping in here to confirm that we just pushed a fix to improve how Coconut Scream Pies appear in Level 50 Bloodwebs (specifically relevant for your P100s!). You'll be guaranteed an Event Offering in the Level 50 web, alongside other Event items.

Is „up the ante“ supposed to only give 1% or is it bugged, because it was 3% before the last patch and it wasn‘t mentioned in the patch notes as nerf?
I can confirm that this is simply a case of a bugged description. The actual values of the perk (which impact gameplay) have not changed. The team's aware of this bug.
As for your question about the Ken Kaneki badge and banner, these items were exclusive to purchasing the Tokyo Ghoul Chapter DLC.

Nice! Are you guys also working on fixing Springtrap throwing an axe on a different direction than where he is looking at? 👾
The team absolutely is! To set expectations, we don't expect a fix will be ready for the next hotfix, but it's something the team's working on.

Definitely don't hesitate to run it through its paces and let us know how it's treating you 😀

This is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous, it has been working this exact same way since Plague's launch, you cannot change this as a "bug fix".
REVERT THIS ASAP, PLEASE.
I appreciate you catching this! There was a rogue "not" in that line, which we've since updated.

They are not, but I can check in on these three issues today to make sure they're flagged to the team.

Hello folks! This morning, the team deployed a fix for the stats discrepancies we were seeing on the Stats Tracker. We're happy to report that the fix was successful and you should now see results that are much more in line with what you would have expected.
I'll be setting this issue to FIXED, but will hold off on closing this thread for now, as we continue to monitor.

You noticed right! The team pushed a fix early this morning that has resolved the stats discrepancies we were previously seeing 😀

Thanks again for the flag! I can confirm that this has been shared with the team.
-
You're correct. The stats used by the Stats Tracker have been tracked since September 1, 2020.
As for the known issue with stats discrepancies, the team is actively investigating a fix and hope to have more to share this week!

I just hopped of that hill he was on. This is any hill or ledge he will do this.
If you need logs they can be provided. I’ll make a better video next time. Sorry about that.

Just checking in on this, as I can't quite tell from the video and have a few clarifying questions:
- Was it you or your dog who hopped off the ledge?
- Was it an action (i.e. vault) or simply walking off a ledge (i.e. the edge of a hill)?
- Was it a specific structure or environmental object that you hopped off of here?

Okay, thank you for the clarification. That was about what I figured. One question: Will there be an in-game tracker on how many penalty points you have and how many more matches you need for the oldest penalty to drop?
Good question. We don't have plans to add an in-game tracker for this, but it's a piece of feedback I'd be happy to pass along to the team.

I am on the Ps5 so sadly I do not. My friend @6yXJI0 might be able to provide one.
Ryan - please I beg ya. This is just one of many game breaking bugs for Houndmaster. She is riddled with them at the moment. Most recently over the weekend have been reported but she is in a really bad state playable wise and I genuinely mean that.
It's no stress if not, though! The video is helpful and has been passed along to the team to investigate. As for game-breaking bugs, let me take a look at Bug Reporting to see if there are any that need to be shared with the team.
-
We'll absolutely continue keeping an eye on how folks are reacting to his performance in-game as both Killer and Survivor players get more experience in matches with him. In the meantime, we have some bugfixes coming in the hotfix planned for Thursday, which should help alleviate some of the concerns folks have about him.

As a heads-up, I moved this over to the Bug Reporting section. I'll make sure this is passed along to the team so they can look into it. Out of interest, would you happen to have a player log from this session as well?
-
To confirm, the team is aware of both of these bugs and are looking into fixes for them. In particular, a fix for the movement speed bug is planned for this week's hotfix, so we'll be keeping a close eye on that.
-
Thanks for taking the time to flag this to us! I've passed this along to the team to look into.

Thanks for passing this along! This is a bug that the team's already aware of and are looking into, including its impact on other Killers.

To confirm, have you checked the audio section of the Xbox Game Bar overlay on your PC (pressing the Windows button + G) to ensure that the game's audio hasn't been turned down in the overall mix?
-
Thanks for flagging this! I've passed it along to our team to look into.

To add onto this conversation since I've seen some questions above about the intention, yes, map and gameplay-affecting offerings are now treated as secret. This keeps certain pieces of information a surprise within each Trial, while also preventing the opposing role from being able to start the match with express knowledge of your planned strategy.
And since I know I've seen it mentioned above, I can confirm that it is intended for White Ward (and Black Ward, conversely) to be counted as secret, given that they impact gameplay decisions within the Trial - namely that they protect your items and add-ons from being consumed at the end of the Trial.
-
Thanks for sharing this and congrats on expanding your rainbow birb collection!
-
Hey there folks! I've seen some back and forth in here, so I wanted to hop in to confirm how the 20 match set for Disconnection Penalties works. As some of you have already pointed out, this system looks at your last 20 matches and the number of disconnects within this range. As you continue to play matches, they wipe the slate of your older played matches, one at a time.
As an example, let's say you disconnected for match #1. This would remain logged within this system for 20 matches. After the completion of match #21, that first disconnect would no longer be factored into the Disconnection Penalties system for you.
-
Hey there folks! Just popping in to confirm that we're aware of an issue causing discrepancies in some players' displayed stats. Today, we deployed an update to the tracker, which has improved how time spent in matches is displayed and are actively investigating a full fix for these discrepancies.
All that to say, if you're still seeing discrepancies, hold tight - we're on it!

Hey there folks. Both in this thread and across the others that have popped up over the last few days, we've appreciated reading your thoughts and ideas regarding the AFK Crows feature, and want to thank everyone who took the time to share their gameplay - both in text and video! It's been very helpful to see your experiences with these AFK penalties while playing the game normally.
Our design team have looked at the information carefully and they do see that this system is a bit too aggressive. Hotfix 1, which is planned for Thursday of next week, will have a few adjustments to the timings that drive this feature so that the Crows do not appear during the course of normal gameplay. This will include:
-We are extending the Grace Period before AFK points begin accumulating
-We are extending the interval and rate points accrue and decay
-We're slowing down the speed you get AFK points while moving and after the Exit Gates have been powered
Again, thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback and experiences with this feature! We really value it and, at the end of the day, we want to make sure you have a blast with this game we all love.

speaking of quests and bugs, is the team still working on getting the discord quest out to those who haven’t gotten the quest yet? It’s been over two days and a lot of people (including me) still haven’t even had the quest pop up on our discord yet.

I think I managed to get what would be considerd normal gameplay.
some things to note though
Wesker Had Thrilling and Grim Embrace
Meg was the last stack of grim
I did not touch the eastern gen because of Thrilling
I could not do any gen when Grim Activated.
Me and Sheva were second stage and did not want to trade with meg; or farm her for that matter.
I know the crow did not make a big deal, but considering I feel the play I did was nessesary it feels like I should not have gotten one. This is more for education purposes, because I had a tough time not forcing the crows.
I know it's long, but I feel it paints a better picture, if you guys have any complaints feel free to discuss what I did wrong me as well.
Thanks for taking the time to share this! And believe me, this clip is not too long - the length helps give a bigger picture idea of what happened. Let me pass this along to the team. Also, thanks to those of you who shared the TikTok's above. We're also reviewing those.

Where can we find instructions for how to share footage with the dev team?
If you'd like to share it here on the forums, the two approaches we see used most commonly are attaching the video to a comment (using the paperclip button) or sharing the link to an unlisted YouTube video. Either way, please don't hesitate to tag me in the comment where you share it so I can make sure it's shared with the team immediately.
@Pit_Bull_Love said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3945321#Comment_3945321
Why do we need footage? Community feedback is that it is not well received. We frequently see comments from devs/mods "we heard your feedback" and didn't go forward with the artist add-on changes, or the xeno changes, etc. But since this effects survivors we need video evidence? The community was screaming this is going to be a problem, and look, it is, yet our screams fall on deaf ears. It's utterly defeating.
That's a good question! With the examples you provided, the concerns and relevant feedback tend to be quite straightforward, making it easier to draw a line between a player's feedback, their perception, and the change itself. There's an immediacy to these issues (i.e. I used Xenomorph's tail attack and it was sluggish) that generally relies on a direct statement like "I experienced this at this given moment," which can often be easily conveyed in text.
Where the AFK Crows topic differs is that there is a lot more nuance involved. This is a system that takes a longer period of gameplay time into account - not just the moment at which a player gets their first crow - which makes it more difficult to rely just on text-based recounts of what happened. This is because there are so many variables that could be coming into play - often extending further back than a player may anticipate. For instance, how long were you running vs. walking vs. standing still? Was the Killer nearby? Did you interact with a gen and if so, for how long? If we have footage of these occurrences, it allows our teammates to better understand these more of these nuances and react to the specific gameplay situations.
All this said, the best way I can be an advocate for the community if there's a potential issue, is to make sure I have as detailed feedback as possible. And in this specific case, video is the most valuable form of feedback we can get. I promise you, your concerns aren't being missed.
-
Hey there folks! I checked in with the team and this is simply a case of a bugged description. The actual values of the perk (which impact gameplay) have not changed. All that to say, the team's aware of this bug.
-
One important caveat here is that if a Survivor is actively moving or close to the Killer, the rate at which these AFK points accumulate behind the scenes is greatly slowed. This means that players should still have ample opportunities to opt for stealth where necessary.
It's not lost on me, though, that we're seeing some reports of folks who say they're receiving crows in the course of regular gameplay. The best way we can help relay your experiences to the team is through concrete evidence, so if you've encountered this, please do share video footage of this with us, ideally including the 2-4 minutes of footage before the crow shows up. This way, we can provide much more detail on the specific gameplay that led to this circumstance.
-
Hey there folks! I mentioned this in another thread, but wanted to make sure I caught y'all as well, given this threads specific focus on the changes to AFK crows.
Arguably the most useful intel we can get right now is footage of this happening, as that helps us understand the exact circumstances that led up to this. If any of you have video footage of situations where you received an AFK crow over the course of regular gameplay, we'd love it if you could share it with us. I'd make sure it's shared with the relevant folks!
Specifically, it would be immensely valuable to have footage of instances where this is happening, including the 2-4 minutes leading up to the AFK crow appearing. That way, we can get a clear idea of exactly what gameplay led to this situation.
