Distance is ok. 3rd blink is kinda meh. A good nurse doesn't need it, and bad players are heavily punished with huge cool downs.
But we all have our opinions.
I don't really care about what bad players do, bad Survivors also get punished for using Dead Hard wrong, but you don't see (many) people saying Dead Hard is fine because of bad players

No, I think that’s just a very popular community suggestion.
they haven’t said, what aspect of the perk they are gonna review.
I just hope it gets a nerf that isn't a slap on the wrist and doesn't kill the the Perk either
-
Weren't they planning on nerfing the distance?

One idea I've seen tossed around that I think has potential is splitting the perk, so you have to choose between frames and distance.
Only the distance one will be used, no one will waste half of their build for I-Frames

Yes, killers can’t camp a surv at egc to have a pity kill after losing. Oh, wait!
5 gens being finished doesn't mean the Killer lost. It's like saying the Survivors lost once the Killer got 2 Hooks on everyone

Yet killers get NOED and blood warden, definitely some balancing issues
Both are mediocre Perks that don't grant free Sacrifices, unlike Hatch, which is a pity escape for losing
-
Classic body with either the P3 mask or the devil mask (any knife goes), but the chrome skin looks the best imo
-
Nurse's base-kit is fine. Nerf her Add-ons tho
-
Better question: How will Dead Hard even be nerfed?
The I-Frames aren't worth nerfing as they're not the problem, and nerfing the distance will kill the Perk.
Best you could do is fully rework the Perk
-
He needs his base-kit changes reverted, he didn't need them as he only had a 1v1 Power and was worthless in the 1v4, and now, he doesn't even have a 1v1 anymore
-
He needs all his base-kit changes reverted.
All he had was his 1v1, and Survivors didn't like that they weren't in control of the 1v1, so they whined and got it nerfed, along with his TR so now he can't even get into a chase against smart Survivors

(The original idea wasn't the worst but some of the ideas after about destroying all pallets in a certain radius or perma blocking windows......yeah okay)
Did you know Claustrophobia only activates when a Generator is completed, at which point the Killer would be throwing if he decided to chase in that area?
Making chases in an area that has no objective risky still wouldn't be all that useful, but I guess you didn't think about that

I finally got around to saving up enough BP to try this build a few times. All I can say is it's 4D chess if you know RPD well (it's my 2nd favorite map so I know it inside out)
You can use the wallhacks portals to straight up cut people off. You can hook someone on one side of the map, go pop a gen somewhere else, then still be back in time to stop the savior.
Call of brine lets him 3 gen like a champion too. Pretty disgusting build overall, though very meticulous and thought intensive imo.
You stole my build...

Okok so what about if hit the survivors lose a health state/go down if exposed then even the people who care about that would also have fun.
Sure
-
Please no, the snowmen sucked. Free Health States for Survivors and Killers got nothing
-
I'd buff Claustrophobia to last indefinitely, until a different Generetor pops, at which point the effect travels to that area.
Once the 5th Generator pops, all Windows get blocked for 30 seconds and all Pallets within 32 Meters of the Exit Gates get destroyed, even if they aren't dropped

Yes. It's called playing efficiently

Survivors don't really need Perks to get a pity escape after losing

Even if one person runs Calm Spirit (low chance), the Killer still tunnels the other 3 people.
BBQ Chilli + Iron Maiden is the perfect tunneling combo.
Tunneling 3 Survivors? Nice
So Calm Spirit is rare, but Iron Maiden isn't?
Bad Perks are usually rare, but apparently you're going against BBQ/IM the whole time

Doesn't work well. Some killers are insanely fast at moving across the map. Or it's Huntress with a ranged hatchet. Killer still knows your location and you have to get off the gen and hide from the patrol.
Hide behind the Generator Aura.
If you still can't avoid the Killer, you're either bad or the Killer was heading your way anyway
-
Go in 1 direction, then go the opposite.
Boom, BBQ and IM countered

Twins are strong but they are really clunky because they have a 2 sec delay when using their power, very similar to a Nurse after she blinks.
Instead, to make the Twins less clunky to play, the developers should
- Remove the "Nurse-vision-dimming" mechanic completely
- When you press the activate ability...
- You should be able to move the Twin you are changing-from for 2 seconds, instead of a 2 second long pause.
- Then immediately switch to the other Twin.
No "nurse-vision-dimming" and no 2 second long pause. The 2 second delay in switching Twins is still there, there just isn't that clunky feeling, as if you are trying to crank a beat-up Pinto on a cold winters morning.
The Twins aren't good and haven't been ever since CoH came out
The 2 seconds fatigue sucks, the DS whenever you down a Survivor is worse and actively forces the Twins to slug.
-
Looks like a pirate skin, too bad Twins will continue to suck to play as, aswell as being weak

Yeah i just read it myself and saw your quoting notification pop up.
From the looks of it (if they can manage what they theorize here) it might not be as bad and only the top half or less of the "mid-skill-section" might be in for a worse time as sacrifice for the top players "amusement".
But that remains to be seen and from i saw the last time i played, matchmaling didn't even do what they promised and for example o myself with 300 hours since release and intentionally throwing games after 8 hooks for over a year still sometimes got matched with several thousand hour players or even their swfs.
But even than the fact remains that they, similar to old ranked based mm, are planning to sacrifice mid level skilled players for the high skilled players fun which means that survivor that get boosted by swf and comms get easier killer to bully and streamer get survivor fodder for their win streaks. At least the low skill and new players might be saved.
The devs should stop coddling new players and should instead focus on keeping their old ones

So wait, what are they doing? Creating the old problem of too many unskilled people reaching red ranks just by putting in enough playtime? FOR REAL??
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, you are joking, right? Please tell me you are joking.
That sounds like the dumbest move they could ever do, return to the old mess. 🤣
I freaking can't....
For the purposes of matchmaking, we have a “cap” for skill ratings. Although your rating can continue to climb beyond this cap, you’ll be treated as if you’re at the cap for the purposes of matchmaking. This is in place to prevent the best players out there from climbing to a point where there’s simply nobody to match with.
By lowering this cap, we’re able to expand the pool of players in high skill matches, leading to more variety in the opponents you face. One match may be very close and competitive, but the next may be a little more laid back. This will also ensure that queue times don’t grow longer at higher skill levels.

All of the killers goals are exactly the same: chase survivors, hook survivors and prevent gens from being done. Some killers have much better tools to accomplish this such as Nurse and worse tools to accomplish this such as Demogorgon. If you are equally skilled with both Nurse and Demogorgon, then you cap out with Nurse, because you are 4king every single group you go against. Most likely, you'll never cap out with Demogorgon, so it's very possible to be a higher skilled killer with Demogorgon than it is with Nurse, just because with Nurse can cap out.
If you make Demogorgon as good as Nurse, at what point does Demogorgon stop being Demogorgon. If you can transverse the map as quick as Nurse, that means that you stop using your teleport. That would make Demogorgon competitive in higher ranks but doesn't Demogorgon lose his essence at that point.
You should check out the developer thread on MMing, it might make you feel better about it.
I checked, and the result is dissapointing. They're reducing the cap, so good players will verse worse players way more often. Very nice, exactly what the community didn't want

Seriously? You're complaining about Coal Tower? It's probably the most balanced map in the game.
No, it has a a good set of tile spawns, T/Ls chaining into one another, along with junk tiles/jungle gyms. The main building is crazy and has God Windows next to Breakable Walls, forcing the Killer to waste time.
You want a balanced Map? At best I can give you Dead Dawg Saloon, and that one is not exactly good for Survivors

Yes. Shelter Woods is a thing, Coal Tower can be messy, Ironworks Of Misery and Groaning Storehouse have a disgusting main building. Shelter Woods might be the only passable MacMillan Map, and that one sucks for Survivors

Blight, I've always thought of as a low skill killer, when I play him, he's very easy to learn. Nurse is extremely high skill, but she's also all muscle memory, once you've developed the muscle memory for Nurse, you're done.
---
Ok, I'm just being hypothetical here.
Say I'm playing Trapper, who is considered a bad killer but one that I really love playing. Even if I am struggling against a mid-level SWF, I'm still using the same amount of skill as I would playing a Nurse at the highest level of play, maybe even more skill. Because lets be honest, a Nurse going against a high-level SWF is easier than a Trapper going against a upper-mid level SWF.
Personally, when I win with Trapper, it feels more significant to me because I know the Trapper is more difficult to use than, say Blight. (I'm sure I would say the same thing if I spent the time to get the muscle memory down for Nurse).
If skill levels of both parties being equal is important for you, why not just play Nurse or Blight?
Easy to learn? Subjective.
Easy to master? No, and that's objective.
No, you're not. Trapper is easy to play. He requires some knowledge of where to place his Traps but that's it, he's a basic M1 Killer with a situational, weak Power.
Nurse and Blight aren't exactly enjoyable to play on console, and even if they were, they're not Demogorgon
-
RBMM sucks

@Munqaxus said:

Under the current system with SBMMR, every killer does have a chance to get a 4k.
Unless you mean you want a 4k every single game. Which, personally, I think adding bot survivors would help with that.
Or you mean that you want the highest skilled person to take the worse Killer against an equally skilled SWF and get a 4k, 50% of the time. If Otz is any indication, that's also possible.
I would say Nurse and Blight are able to go way past the skill level of the survivors and still get kills, especially the Nurse.
I don't want easy 4Ks, and I don't want to not stand a chance against a 4-Man.
Nurse and Blight are pure skill-oriented Killers, and require skill to play as and against. If the Survivors/Killer lost, it's because they played badly.
Sure, every Killer can get a 4K thanks to the SBMM pitting them against weak Survivors, but if SBMM puts good, equally skilled players against each other, and the Killer isn't Blight or Nurse, the Killer loses
-
I like winning

What would you consider viable?
Any Killer that has a chance to 4K every game, like Nurse and Blight. Every other Killer kinda just gives up against a 4-Man SWF
-
@Munqaxus said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2911431#Comment_2911431
It's an average of 2ks and 2es, which means the killer can get 3ks an 4ks, which is a win and can get 0ks and 1ks which is a loss, while also getting 2ks and 2es. So, on average, any killer wins half the time, which means the killer is viable, base on what the developers have decided is balance.
It's an average, and the average Survivor is worse than an average Killer, which means they'll die more often, which leads to the average ~50% killrate.
If we would look at high MMR, things would be different, but we don't have such stats, so the best thing we can do is speculate.
After all the unbalanced things/buffs and nerfs the devs added to "balance" the killrate, I don't really care what they consider "viable"

- I wish they’d get rid of map offerings, they just exacerbate flaws in the maps by letting people force the game into abusable scenarios
- On the flip side DC penalties should apply to people disconnecting on the loading screen. It’s a total waste of all the other players’ time. You don’t like a map, tough, play it out.
- Are there still unhookable areas in RPD? I thought they tweaked the library with an additional hook and also nerfed the falling bonus on Boil Over to mitigate that. (Not that Boil Over can’t make you sometimes miss a hook on any map, and in RPD hiding the hook auras can be effective. But are there still literally unhookable spots on that map?)
Give me a D/C penalty, I'm not playing against Survivors who use Map Offerings
-
Why didn't your game crash in the loading screen after seeing the Map Offering?

Of course killer mains need 4k all the time, maybe 3k if they pity hatch the last one
Yes, having a chance to get a 3K-4K is nice, but apparently, Killers should never win and should always only get a draw, but Survivors are allowed to always get 3E-4E

Every killer is able to get 2k/2e because of SBMM, meaning that every killer is viable according to the developers standards. Nurse is able to break the 2k/2e rule that the developers have decided is how players are balanced.
A draw doesn't mean that a Killer's viable
-
@Piruluk said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2911339#Comment_2911339
There are way less casual killer than casual survivor, and from business perspective it only makes sense to favor the bigger consumer base, add to the fact survivor mains way more likely to spend on the game.
And as you say survivors outnumbering killer 1:10. So is it makes any sense to lose so huge amount of consumers and playerbase?
For what? So that killers can have effortless 4K all the time.
Before evening too much killer and you need to wait up to 10+ min to get a game.
As said dbd is life are survivors, should be respected more, instead caving to killer main demands who want 4k all the time perklese
Both sides are equally important, Survivors shouldn't be treated with more respect than Killers. What you're saying is that Killers are meaningless drones that are there to be a toy for the Survivors.
Killers carry the game, not the Survivors. No one really cares about playing Meg or even Laure Strode, people want to play as Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Amanda Young, Ghostface.
Survivors already are the priority when it comes to balance, it's why there are only 2 viable Killers in the entire game
-
Screw console players is what I say, who cares about us

@Piruluk said:

But here is the thing, nothing prevents a killer from playing "dirty", if they were buffed to be able to win without using any tactics that would make them extremely overpowered. Doesn't matter how " unfun" is if the game allows it then fair play, and every good killer plays like that.
Nothing prevents the Survivors from doing Generators as fast as possible. There's no difference between efficiency from both sides.
Without slowdown Perks, Survivors are OP (they're really good even with slowdown Perks). Without DS and BT, Killers are pretty good, and with them, they're ok, if not weak

No issue for killers either, it's just player skill issue.
See streamers doing 4K games 50 in row, if anything killers overpowered, its just easier to blame the game than learn to play. After the nerfs probably we will see 500+ games won in a row as killer with 3-4K
There are way more issues on both sides other than getting good, but even if a Killer was good, they'd lose to equally skilled Survivors because Killers have way more issues.
Wasn't there an escape streak that went on for 300 games or so? By that logic, Survivors are way more op than Killers.
If you honestly think there will be 500 4k streaks once Dead Hard is nerfed, then you're probably among the Survivors that Dead Hard into a wall
