  • Oh no, a Killer that isn't free Survivor wins! Let's nerf her so we can get back to what this game is supposed to be!

    ----

Honestly, I don't know what the obsession is with Spirit. Nurse is just better. And overall, both Killers are hated because the game becomes a SKILL MATCHUP, instead of Survivors being able to hold Shift W and mash Spacebar all the way to victory.

They are the only two Killers in the game with a real counterplay to the pallet/window/loop dynamic. And so, naturally, Survivors wanna gut 'em for it, so we can return to our regularly scheduled program.

  • @Northener1907 said:

If pallet has strong loop, break it. If pallet is unsafe try mindgame. If she dropping pallets and keep running you will have her soon, just keep chase.

Well, the reality - like everything involving Killer - is that it's a lose/lose decision. All you can do is make your best possible choice, but that doesn't mean you're given good choices to begin with, and it doesn't mean that it's not all moving towards massive time loss for you the Killer.

Pallets are technically a limited resource for Survs, but maps spawn with well over 20 pallets anyway. Destroying the pallets is "good to do," but it still locks you in place for long enough for the Surv to just make it to the next pallet, or the next jungle gym, or what have you.

Sometimes, for the sake of the immediate chase going on, it can be best to ignore the pallet, move around it, and continue the chase. (Obviously if the terrain has it so that's faster.) However, that ALSO means that the pallet can just be used against you later anyway, thus why it's another lose/lose decision.

All of this is exasperated by the fact that generators are popping every 40 seconds. While you're given a plethora of lose/lose decisions to make, Survs are 4v1'ing you, and you can only be in 1 place at a time, while they can be in 4 places at a time.

Pallets are just one of many things working against you, and usually, you just have to deal with them head on. There's no trick to bypassing a pallet with a magical strategy. They are a free time-buying ticket for Survivors, and you can't do anything about it realistically. You can mindgame the bad Survivors, like juking one direction and going the other, or juking a juke, etc. But in reality, a merely decent Survivor won't get panicked, and will always be able to make their obvious & correct play. And in the end, you will either have to destroy the pallet once it's dropped, or move around it and hope you don't regret it later on in the match.

(That being said, it's usually good to destroy pallets you left behind during times such as... you finished the chase and downed the Surv, or you hooked them, or, hey, you totally lost them. As long as you can remember where the pallet was.)

  • Well, Dwight Main One Ninety, it just so happens that BBQ very often provides zero auras. And BECAUSE this can happen due to Survs being behind gen auras, OR because they're not 40+ meters away, WE THE KILLER (not you, you're Dwight Main One ninety) have no way to know which of the two is happening, if not both. So we're almost better off WITHOUT its "intel" since it could guide us to assume one thing, when the exact opposite is happening. (We stay near hook because we see no auras, then 3 distant generators end up popping. Or we try to "learn from that mistake" and end up venturing out far, but all 3 Survs were near the hook for the insta rescue & heal.)

My post is aggravated, yes, and rightfully so. I'm allowed to be aggravated. I cannot, however, just randomly assume how experienced the OP is. YOU'RE the one that made that assumption, and you shouldn't assume, after all! :)

This video game is an utter disaster, and BHVR has proven to only listen to Survs. So when this thread is made, I literally feel angry towards it because there is a GREAT CHANCE that the game developers act on the OP's desires, further ruining this game.

  • Imagine complaining about ANY KILLER AT ALL LMFAO.

    Especially Bubba.

AND IMAGINE COMPLAINING ABOUT BBQ!!!! LOL!!!!

Bubba can insta-down, sure. But all he can do is walk at you. Use your exhaustion perks. And use them smartly. Maybe try hiding sometimes, instead of being that cocky piece of crap standing in plain sight because you WANT the chase to happen. (Which is a hilarious statement about Survivor strength right now, by the way.)

Try getting some environmental awareness. Always know where your next pallet/window is. Because you can be the worst video gamer in the world, and all you have to do is hold Shift and W, and mash spacebar, and get free wins on Survivor. Free rank 1 right there, as long as you're not aiming your Shift W Spacebar Machine into dead ends.

By the time Bubba insta-downs the first Survivor, if you don't have 1-2 gens popping at minimum, I'm gonna guess everyone was afk at the start of the game. Survivor advantage is so unreal, I can't imagine how bad the Complaining Survivors must be at ANY real game whatsoever.

Complaining about BBQ INTEL???????? But BBQ doesn't GIVE intel. BBQ is a farm perk ONLY. It's used for the bonus BP at the end of the game.

The BBQ auras of Survivors are hidden if those Survivors are behind generator auras, LMFAO. The perk is a monster-ass joke. Survivors don't have to deal with anything like that, SHOCKINGLY ENOUGH, so I understand why you might not have known that. But us Killers, we learn very quickly that SOMETHING is amiss when using BBQ, and the smart ones realize just exactly what's going on.

Anyway - grats on getting Doctor, Bubba, and BBQ nerfed in the next patch. God knows BHVR listens to 100% of everything Survivors say. Thank you for doing your part to keep DBD going in the direction it's been going in for 5 years now. Thank you for your contribution to making DBD even more unplayable than it already is.

I can't wait to see what the next big change will be.

"Mori's removed from the game. Keys now baseline, and do not use up an item slot."

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Meanwhile I just had a 3k with hatch + 10 hooks as her and black pipped.

    I had a "4k," which means a 3k plus a leaver.

    Also black pipped.

  • Remember when Survivors tried stealthing to prevent a chase from even occurring? Instead of standing out in the open, maybe even spamming the point emote, to try to initiate a chase that they know they can win against 99% of the Killer characters?

  • Maybe give some BP rewards for each skill check success in that state.

(And lower related BP rewards elsewhere? To not end up incentivizing getting hooked?)

  • @PerfectlyPink said:

I would sympathize but from my experience playing trickster and twins (funnily enough) for the sole purpose of getting better at them (not hardcore tunneling and camping just spam using their power to get the mechanics down) has made me bitter.

I've played so damn nice on killers that I am CLEARLY struggling with and trying to get better with, but I can't get better since each match lasts 5 god damn minutes. I need to camp and tunnel and run crutch perks because I am ass with these killers. I physically cannot apply pressure when I'm still trying to figure out how to use their power and I cannot learn how to use their power when the matches only last a few minutes.

The reason you can't apply pressure is because this game is a true 4v1 now.

You, the Killer, can only do 1 thing at a time. You can chase 1 single person, which means 3 people are doing generators. Also, this 1 chase can take several minutes against an AVERAGE Survivor. (And against a good one, it will literally take all 5 gen's worth of time.)

As Killer, you are given various lose/lose decisions until the bitter end. You can stop chasing (since a chase should clear all 5 gens) to start monitoring gens, but now you're not CHASING, which means you're not hitting Survivors, which means you're not sacrificing Survivors - and that's your objective.

In short, you cannot move towards your objective, AND stop their objective, at the same time. Because you're 1 person.

BUT, they are 4 people. And they are 4 people that have been crying for 5 years about wanting to be as powerful as the Killer, and so now they are. And that's why chases take 5 gens' worth of time. Because Survivors have way too much power individually.

You chase 1, you got 3 others working towards their objective.

Survivors are the only team that can work towards their goal AND shut down the enemy's goal at the same time.

What part about this isn't an obvious losing formula for a video game?

  • @DwightFairfield said:

This one goes out to you Trickster and Twins mains who don't want to put in the time to learn any mechanical skill.

Playing a bad killer does not excuse rampant camping and tunneling, saying you had to play that way because the killer is bad is the most worthless excuse I've ever heard.

If you struggle so much with a killer, you can put in the time to get better.

All that playing scummy will do it force you into a loop where you can never win doing anything else because its engraved into your muscle memory.

Killer play can literally never be scummy because the game is so insanely Survivor favored, rofl. Survivors are literally DESIGNED to win. It's a GAME DESIGN for Survivors to win.

Survivors call Killers scummy when they dare ruin the Survivors' 4-escape victory with 1 single sacrifice. They're so used to flawless victories, that if someone messes up and gets themselves hooked (dunno how, when you have over 5 minutes of safe chase time) and then gets camped, Survivors call that scummy because "Killers should just bend over and take it all, and aren't allowed to have ANY consolation at all."

It's a wonder anyone even still plays Killer.

THAT BEING SAID, this plethora of things that Survivors can do is completely obscene and needs to be changed. You could down Survivors 100 times in a game and get 0 hooks. It's offensive. Survivor strength needs to be literally halved.

That is not the reason survivors are OP at the top level, The reason is just how fast they can bang out generators.

Flashlight saves and sabotaging should be encouraged more as that gets people off of generators. Current counters to that stuff is:

    • Flashlights - Look at a wall and check to see any nearby possible hiding places someone could be hiding at If you want to face that location.
    • Sabotaging - If its one person then you simply go to a different hook, If its multiple of them then you slug.

Yes, sure, but it's more straws in the haystack. There are 10,000 reasons Survivors are busted. And yes, chases being 2-3 minutes while that's also enough time to clear out 10-15 generators, that's also a huge issue.

Also, those "counters" to Survivors trying to prevent a hook aren't really counters. They're lose/lose decisions. While you're dicking around with these options as the Killer holding the Survivor, the wiggle meter is filling up. Even plopping them on the ground, the wiggle meter is preserved, AND now that Survivor can inch away from your destination anyway while you handle these other things.

Lose/lose decisions is the concise summary of playing Killer in 2021's Dead by Daylight. And the game needs to be rebalanced around SWF's, instead of balanced around pubs where SWF basically becomes god mode. The goal of pubs should be to try to play as effectively as SWF's as you can.

Basically, SWF's at peak performance should be VERY MARGINALLY stronger than Killer at peak performance, and pretty good pubs should be about as strong as pretty good Killers. That's admittedly very hard to precisely achieve. However, BHVR clearly makes no effort at this whatsoever anyway, so I'd at LEAST like to see an attempt at it, regardless of hitting the mark...

(Right now, pretty good pubs are about as strong as peak performance Killers, and above average SWF's are god mode.)

Yeah gotta love how they refer to moris as "toxic" when its literally just saving hook time and showing a cool animation. Not even mentioning if you have pop or BBQ your screwing yourself out of more BP or gen regression.

To be FAIR - and trust me, I despise Survivors more than anyone - Mori is "toxic" and does more than "save hook time" because Survivors have a PLETHORA of things they can do between point A and point B to stop that hook from happening.

THAT BEING SAID, this plethora of things that Survivors can do is completely obscene and needs to be changed. You could down Survivors 100 times in a game and get 0 hooks. It's offensive. Survivor strength needs to be literally halved.

And - of course - keys are also "toxic". And way more so than Mori's.

  • It "wastes time" but the zombies waste your time already, and it's the best fight against them.

Counterforce is going to be meta because it's 1 perk to destroy as many hex perks that the Killer has, which is 0-4. It's too much value. Even against zero hexes, who cares, Survivors have the power to spare...

The devs don't even know their own GAME (see the mess that was 'ruin/undying', the ongoing mess that are keys or the fact that they say tunneling, camping and slugging are a-okay)

    • Survivors call you a tunneller any time you attack an injured Survivor, regardless of literally every factor.
    • Survivors call you a camper even if you can physically see the other 3 Survivors hiding behind rocks near your hook, waiting to 3 Man Rescue Squad. Again, zero factors matter. Logic doesn't matter. Strategy doesn't matter.
    • Survivors get mad at slugging, even if their plan is to CLEARLY have you pick them up. Such as, they crawled to a pallet, and at least 1 Survivor is nearby ready to drop it on you. As always... all factors are obsolete. You are a dirty filthy slugger for not playing into their plan.

These strategies ARE okay. And make no mistake - they ARE strategies. If you don't like them, show the Killer why they shouldn't do it. Punish it. Because as long as you fail to punish their strategies in-game, they have no reason NOT to use these strategies. (Shaming in post-game chat lobby is not proper punishment. And the real shame is on any Killers that allow the Survivor community to shun them out of playing properly. And, really, it's a big disservice to the entire DBD community, as it promotes an utter degradation of overall DBD player quality.)

Its a 4vs1 game. 4 survivors should be more or less as strong as the killer. But people complain when they can´t 1vs1 the killer. Which makes 0 sense. Now add SWF and a coordinated group makes life impossible for the killer, because they are way stronger.

    • Picking a survivor up and having to choose between a pallet slam or a flashlight.
    • Getting into a chase towards a easily loopable zone and knowing that if you continue, you´ll lose 2 or 3 gens. But if you don´t continue, every survivor will run to the same area.
    • Seeing a Haddonfield offering and knowing that the match will be terrible.

Just a few examples on why there are to many survivors around. As long as survivors are the power role, this won´t change.

    Yes EXACTLY.

Way too many lose/lose situations as Killer. And the whole reason we have this power dynamic where Survivors are the strongest is because the design philosophy was abandoned, where 4 united Survivors should be *roughly as strong* as the Killer (if anything, stronger by a little bit?), however, every Survivor was focused on their own inability to 1v1 a Killer.

And so, now, they ARE able to 1v1 a Killer. A chase is MINUTES long, and that's 3 or even 5 generators gone. A Killer that moves normally needs perks like Bamboozle just to shave off some time from this. But players just starting their BP grind adventure won't have Bamboozle, and the BP grinding players suffer even more.

Survivors got power crept too hard, and all because they each individually wanted to be as strong as what 4 Survivors were meant to be. You could argue the game is currently a 16v1. Or, at the very least, you could argue it's a TRUE 4v1, where all 5 players are equally strong.

  • Yo I just played a game as Killer and decided I was tired of recording my games. So I didn't load up OBS.

Played out this game. I was hooking Survivors and literally leaving to find other people because I just wanted to stack Chilli, and they weren't really getting anything done.

I dead-ass left EVERY hook as soon as I hooked them.

Game ends up going my way, the chases were weak, and I get 3 people hooked pretty quickly. The 4th guy is injured from an M1 and went into hiding.

I finally find him, M1 him because he was just crouching there, either given up or didn't think I saw him in the grass.

I pick him up and he leaves the game.

    Game ends, it's a 3k and a leaver.

One Survivor starts cursing in chat at somebody and calling them names. I say, "Who, the leaver?"

He says, "No, you, curseword curseword."

I'm legitimately surprised by this. "Why??? What did I do???"

"Camping curseword curseword, slur slur slur."

    ???????????

This actually made me SUPER MAD at myself for not recording the game. HOW TYPICAL.

I practically hooked & went to the opposite side of the map every time.

AND I STILL GET CALLED A CAMPER. With extra slurs to spice it up.

    It's insane, man...

Yes, off-topic, but the mods killed my other thread, LUL. I had to vent this somewhere.

I literally cannot express to you how much I was doing the exact opposite of camping.

WHY DID I NOT RECORD THIS GAME??? I learned a long time ago, if you can record something, do so.

  • Alright. So, kill rates.

What about survive rates in red ranks?

I'm going to wager that survive rates aren't 30%, despite kill rates being 70%.

Red ranks don't "only get matched against other red ranks," which would be required for those statistics to hold meaning.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2210687#Comment_2210687

Many survivors want to play with their friends. People tend to work, go to school, etc. during the day, so the evening is when they actually have time to play. That then shows up in the queue times.

I have the same exact experience. 5-10 minute survivor queue times at night, like 10 second queue times in the morning.

My point in ridiculing this argument is very simple.

    Time zones.

That argument makes actually no sense when you remember that your 12 AM is somebody else's 12 PM.

  • Man how would I know that's sarcasm? I don't know the actual statistics.

(What are the actual statistics? For kill rates & all that.)

There are more survivor players than there are Killer players. If the killer pool of players goes down, survivor queue times go up exponentially. If Killer population increases, then survivor queue times go down. Its a supply and demand issue.

    No killers=No game.

Yes, man. That's... exactly my point.

And so the next question becomes: Why are there more Survivor players?

Not just "more Survivor players," either, but... Why are there SO MANY more Survivor players? The ratio to start a game is 4:1. And it's no problem. And as others have said, there are EIGHT TIMES more Survivor players than Killer players. That's TWICE the required ratio.

    And so...

    Why is that?

Some have one theory, others have another...

It's the same with the kill rates. Killers are killing over 60% in red ranks, some as high as 75%. But people refuse to accept this. I mean it's simple math. It's all in the math. Killers are winning the majority of their games. It is so easy, I think many have switched to survivor for a challenge. It is just simple math. Can't believe people deny this. As long as killer is this easy, the que times are going to be higher as people want the challenge of survivor, not the clearly, as demonstrated by the math, easier killer play.

Human nature doesn't gravitate towards "wanting the challenge" compared to "wanting the easy wins". This applies to all facets in life. And when you're talking about grand averages of a population, this will ALWAYS be true.

DBD players are not moving towards Survivor for the increased challenge.

  • You might be right...

I was playing Killer for the BBQ bonus to BP. But if Survivor's still an overall better farm, I might just swap.

    :/

    I was Cannibal.

And on neither Killer am I to pre-rev a chainsaw without any vision on which direction the Survs took. PARTICULARLY not on Cannibal, as at least Hillbilly can cover some distance in niche cases with a "missed" guess on Survivor pathing.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

Survivor is the more attractive role to most people. Survivors get to play with friends and the game becomes a social thing where they hang out and chat. Killers don't get that. Killers play alone, and at night with the awful matchmaking killer goes from being a game mode to a thankless job. As the matchmaking gets more skewed because there are fewer killers, more killers quit for the night because their matches suck, and so it gets worse and worse.

It does not help that there's no estimated wait time. The devs need to add that for players so they know when the survivor or killer queue is overflowing. I queue up and a few minutes pass and I have no idea how much longer the wait is, there's nothing to give me any clue. Am I five seconds or five minutes away from entering a lobby? Is the other side's queue long as well? Players are given no information, and that makes the queue problems worse.

Frankly, more people play games solo than with friends. And I'm talking about the grand scheme, in video gaming in general. With DBD being no exception.

Yes, Survivor is the only faction where you can play with friends. However, most people still only play solo. Take something like LoL for example. Do you have any idea how much solo players outnumber non-solo players??? It's immense.

That being said, there's only one remaining reason why so many more people play Survivor than Killer. And we all know what that reason is...

    It's just free real estate.

DBD has attracted the hyper-casual crowd of gamers. You're not going to see CSGO tourny players that play DBD on the side, or anything like that. No; instead, people who play DBD also probably play things like... say, Animal Crossing, or what have you. Crap like that.

DBD has become that same type of appeal. Hey, I'll just play some solo DBD Survivor games. I'm so powerful as a Survivor, it's practically impossible for me to lose. I'll do this, because it makes me feel good.

And so, we have fast Killer queues and slow Survivor queues. I mean, it's RIGHT there. It's a pure statistic that can't be argued. All you can do is throw around weird, forced reasons as to why this would be, and try to beat around the bush about the real answer simply being: Survivor is obscenely overpowered in DBD.

How else can you POSSIBLY explain Killer - the faction with the ONLY amount of flavor in the entire game - being the most unplayed faction???

It's like... If you imagine a fighting game, and the only two characters were Akuma, and a generic gray humanoid "training mode" dummy. And then, turns out, 80% of the game's playerbase all play the training dummy, including competitive/tournament players. And you sit there wondering, HMM, WHY IS THAT? MAYBE IT HAS TO DO WITH THE TIME OF DAY.............

  • Man I just can't do this ######### anymore.

Got a 0k game, where the Survivors were sitting there trying to coach me on my mistakes. My little micro mistakes, like LITERALLY telling me... in this scenario...

Gates are open. I have a Surv hooked. I gave loose chase to another Surv around a corner. It's a V-shaped wall, and the hook is in the nook of the V. I'm outside the V. I stop chasing, knowing the unhook is coming. I prepare for them to come out from my left side of the V, heading in that direction. But they could have also came out from the right side.

Once they indeed came out from the left, I was right on top of them (they basically ran right into me). I started to rev my chainsaw. Well, there was a pallet RIGHT there, as well. First Survivor surfed it.

    Chainsaw still revving.

    Second Survivor surfed it.

I chainsaw the pallet. I keep chasing, but can't do anything really. They both escape.

In the post-game, they tell me I should have pre-revved the chainsaw before seeing them emerge. This is my mistake that makes me deserve the 0k, in their minds.

It's ######### crazy, man. I'm supposed to be a PSYCHIC just to get 1k? This is what Survivors have been conditioned to??? They have it SO EASY, this guy SINCERELY tried to help me out by giving me the advice that I should have preemptively revved my chainsaw with the assumption that they were certainly going to be running right into me, and not going the other direction. Me not making that play WAS MY BIG MISTAKE THAT MAKES ME DESERVE THE LOSS.

But Survivors make 1 mistake per second and it's just totally the ######### okay, because they have so much room to do so. They don't even REALIZE they're making 1 mistake per second, because they still win, and the wins cloud their ability to see what's going on. After all, if you keep winning and winning, you'll surely assume you're doing it right?

It's like, hey, let's play a game of tennis. I only need 1 point to win the whole thing, but you need 300 points. When I finally win with my score of 1, to your score of 278, I'll be sure to tell you all about all the mistakes you made during the game, and tell you to keep practicing.

    LMAO.

    It's wild. It's insane. It's crazy. It's a ######### madhouse in here. And I can't take it anymore.

This game won't be getting fixed. It's too far gone. The Survivor community has an iron grip on the game.

    AN IRON GRIP.

Why keep being the sucker that plays Killer???

I'm not doing this anymore. Find somebody else to be your punching bag.

I get faster survivor queues in morning/afternoon, with slow killer times.

But faster killer queues in evening, and slow survivor times.

Its never fact it depends which time of day.

Yes, popular response, but doesn't actually make any damn sense.

What, you think we meet up at our Killers Convention and say, "Alright, what time you all wanna queue up every day?"

"Jimmy suggests nighttime? Sounds great. For all of you on the other side of the planet, try to remember when our nighttime is."

  • "Honestly as a killer main how much help does someone need??? I couldn't see my self needing THAT much regression help."

Do you know what the term "overkill" means? (Honest question; English could be your 2nd or 3rd language or something like that.) You were basically 1 pixel away from just literally saying the word "overkill".

  • I mean...

Pop requires that you hook somebody, though. And a Survivor getting hooked is a Survivor that misplayed. Assuming nobody misplays, the Survivors can pretty much do all 5 gens before anyone even gets downed... Which means Pop did nothing. And as mentioned, you can't Pop if Ruin is active.

And if Ruin isn't active, then it's because it got killed and is an empty perk slot now...

So, I'm not really understanding how this is supposed to be some "overkill" trio of perks... Tinkerer and Pop have vague synergy together, Tinkerer and Ruin have nothing to do with each other, and Pop & Ruin is maybe the actual only example of two perks that DO NOT work together that I can think of off the top of my head.

    Very bizarre thread...

That being said, I kind of want to run Ruin + Surveillance on someone, seems like a nice combo. But, hey, I'm basically week 1 on the BP grind... So maybe next year...

  • After playing my very first game on Hag, I have decided:

    No. Never run Ruin unprotected.

  • Interesting, so just raw Ruin? No protection for it?

  • You DO know that's the lamest answer, right?

"Having fun" is even better than that.

You basically said, "I don't want kills when I play Killer, and devs don't believe in win conditions."

  • You realize that hooking the same Survivor is how you make them actually get sacrificed, right?

Man. How did we get to this point?????

Shunning Killers into expecting them to intentionally throw, just because Survivors are happier when they all get out alive...

  • Yeah. So... what uhh...

What determines the win, if it's not points OR pips???

(Don't say something lame like, "Having fun!")

  • Yeah. It's about the BP for me, since I want to play builds I've created, but need millions and millions of BP... So being robbed of 10-15k cuz of a leaver just kinda stings.

  • @miketheratguy said:

No offense, but...does it actually matter?

What matters is that I'm trying to grind BP, and some dolt gets to leave the game and actually rob me of over 10k (post-BBQ) BP. Not to mention, I lose out on the +25% from hooking him, if he leaves before then.

    It's total nonsense. Objectively.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

BP don't determine whether you win or lose.

I already talked about the pips, my dude...

Did you read, or rush & skim to find the part where you can cherrypick and attack me? :)

  • Just add, "at the time of activation".

    Lol.

4 seconds into the duration of the location reveal, the location is no longer current. It does not belong to the present time. It hasn't been current for ALMOST 4 seconds, actually.

The only moment it is current is on the first frame of reveal. Every instant and every moment, and every measurement of time afterwards, it is not current.

  • Nah you're right.

Game is very Killer-sided, and Survivors are the nicest people.

    My bad.

    Bye.

  • You'll notice, by the way, that every Survivor post against me has upvote posses backing them up, while no Killers that agree with me are doing the same by upvoting my posts. This is because of the difference in how each side fights their battles.

In the same scheme, someone went ahead and downvoted my YT videos, as well.

That's just how you guys fight. That's just how you guys are.

  • Yes. Now go back to Ep.2 to see the generator I was referring to.

That gen + window was simply not okay. It was a free gen completion I couldn't ever had done anything about.

So quick to criticize me, literally jumping ahead and looking for it, and then finding something. But so slow to actually try to understand my perspective.

  • @MadLordJack said:

It literally says "current", as in "at the moment of activation".

And it's an insanely good perk, so it really should stay that way.

"Current" is a continuously-updating status, grammatically speaking. If I say "current," it never means anything from the past or the future. So, saying "current location for 6 seconds" LITERALLY means, according to the English language, an ongoing updated status of the present, for 6 seconds.

    Current.

4 seconds into the perk, the old location is no longer "current".

    Lol...

WHY IS THIS NOT ABSORBING??? IT'S LIKE I'M TAKING CRAZY PILLS!!!

    ----

And NOBODY in the entire thread said anything about changing the perk...

Its description is consistent with other perks that work that way, with the exception of Make Your Choice that I'm not sure had its tooltip updated:

Iron Maiden: Survivors who exit Lockers suffer from the ExposedStatus Effect for 30 seconds and their location is revealed to you for 4 seconds.

Deathbound: When a Survivor heals another Survivor for the equivalent of 1Health State at least 32 metres away from you, that Survivor will scream, revealing their location and activating Deathbound.

And IMO, "Scream and reveals their current location" refers to a sound clue and not a visual one. The description is poor, but in nowhere you'll find the term aura and assuming so is a wild extrapolation.

You're really fixated on me saying the word "aura".

But when I said it, I was saying that the reader of the current wording might assume that it works LIKE an aura. I never, at any point, said anything about the perk giving aura reveal.

    @jakesotto said:

The perk used to actually show survivors auras but it was quickly nerfed and I guess they never changed the wording.

    This makes more sense, TBH.

  • Yeah, let's hear the reasons.

Obviously, my reasoning against those is that I'm not M1'ing much for Sloppy to take effect. Only for windows, really.

Knockout doesn't even seem like that good of a perk to me? I understand it would see play when I M1 Survivors that are in injured state due to being unhooked or revived from downed, but it's kinda rare. (Also it sees more play with NOED up, but that's only after all gens anyway...)

Curious why you think they'd be stronger than Crows (which have served me quite well in my games), and Murmur which can tell me what people are aiming to accomplish after a gen finishes (plus its synergy with NOED activation).

  • I've decided to keep playing, and keep grinding. I'm going to try to not let it bother me, or at least as much.

Literally played 2 games since last deciding to quit, and 1 game was toxic Survivors, btw, LOL. Maintaining my 50% ratio... I got a 2k, and the 2 remaining Survs teabagged at exit, and then one of the dead Survs went off the rails about tunneling. One of the exited Survs joined in, mentioning how I didn't drop my chase on her to go after him...

They were literally flaming me for not playing into their strategy of distracting me and redistributing the hook counts in a suboptimal way...

  • @ShamelessPigMain said:

No, it just uses jargon that's unnecessarily complex. When BHVR talks about auras, they say it explicitly, meaning you can see the word "aura" very plainly. When they talk about location, it's those big bubbles with the survivor shadow on it. When they talk about screaming and revealing their location, it's the same as above but with a different shadow print.

Also, I'm not sure where you got the "current' part of the description from. All of the exposed perks mention just "location."

    I copypasted the description, lol.

It says "current location for 6 seconds".

  • @lagosta said:

No, it means it will create a loud noise notification that will remain for 6 seconds.

Yes - I know what it does.

But that is not what the English language deems that it does based on its own description.

  • @lagosta said:

Aura revealing perks have that written on their description, the same way as killer instinct does. It's not misleading.

    Yes, it is misleading.

"Current location for 6 seconds" means that you will know where they currently are for the entirety of those 6 seconds, meaning updated locations in real time.

But it does not do that.

To be grammatically and factually accurate, it should say, "Scream and reveal location at the time of the scream for 6 seconds."

Why is this being debated lolllllll?
