It also doesn't mean he's weak. What it does mean is that those who play for more hours a day, and more days a week, have played enough to have started to master his mechanics. It's going to take a while for everyone else to catch up - and that's exactly why I would prefer they not start making changes to a new Killer until they've given the learning curve time to catch up, so as to see whether the Killer actually needs the buff or not.
Or maybe it means that those who play for more hours a day, and more days a week, have played enough to master the fundamentals of being a killer enough to be able to bulldoze potatoes?

Sorry but you're wrong. I am a good teammate and yes I will "ragequit" any match that I don't want to play most probably because of a toxic killer. You can define a good teammate however you want but like I said I'm not going to torture myself playing against toxic killers. I'm trying to enjoy the game not be annoyed by it.
Well, good thing they're changing the struggle system to inconvenience people with that mentality.

they even nerfed him after PTB by removing double damage from trick knives.
Also nerfed his speed add-ons after this next buff.
TO BE FAIR. I'd just like to mention that the Trickster's new movement speed while in knife-throwing stance is about as fast as using both Killing Part Chords and Caged Heart Shoes together. Think of it similar to how they nerfed Pig's combat straps after they buffed her base crouch/uncrouch speed.

Lol these comments.
Where's the surrender button for the slugged survivors who are forced to wait a bleedout or are trapped?
Double standards are strong here.
Por que no los dos?
Add:
1) A surrender option for Killers
2) A surrender option for Survivors (must be unanimous among all living Survivors)
3) A button to allow slugged Survivors to either bleed out faster or to instantly die after having bled out a certain amount
-
By itself? No.
With the add-ons that increase the maximum number of hatchets you can carry? Very much so.

I've left I think less than 10 matches this year so far. You're talking as if I constantly leave every match that isn't the best match ever for me. Most of the time I play it out but if I am in a match that is literally causing me to hate the game and not want to play it, I will leave. I consider myself a good team mate because I actually do try to help my team survive the best I can. I go out of my way to unhook survivors. I take protection hits like crazy. I throw myself in front of killers to prevent a tunnel or hook all the time. I literally go for saves that I know will result in me dyeing so someone on my team whom I've never met before can escape. I collect dropped items from franklins and return them to the player that lost it. Now if only everyone else played like this more matches might go better. There is also of course the main problem with this which is toxic killers. Don't think I leave every match I'm not having a perfect run on. Like I said, I play out most of them.
"Most of the time I play it out but if I am in a match that is literally causing me to hate the game and not want to play it, I will leave."
Cool, then you are not as good of a teammate as you think you are. Good teammates don't ragequit.

I drag the Survivor I downed with me using the taxi build so I don't waste time walking to a hook first. :P

I really wish they'd stop snap-reacting to opinions before making changes. Wait and gather actual statistics on matches before throwing changes into the mix. There's a very big difference between perception and reality. I finally gave up counting the number of streamer matches I watched where the streamer complained about Trickster being weak the entire time, yet still got 2-4k.
I really wish they'd stop snap-reacting to opinions before making changes.
Do they, though? From what I understand, they actively don't make balance changes this soon after a Killer is released after the whole Freddy debacle. You see people complaining that a new Killer is too weak all the time (whether that is actually true or not is a different discussion), but they'll generally be left alone for a good while. For them to actually make changes this quickly to me is a sign that the devs were actually unhappy with the Trickster's situation based on initial performance.

I've already done that. I play DBD a LOT less than I used to. I used to play it everyday for hours on end. Now I find myself playing maybe once a week and not for very long at that. People that leave matches because it is not an enjoyable and fun experience due to toxic players should not be penalized for that. If people abuse it then guess what? They'll find themselves not playing the game that much and honestly how long will someone leave a match over and over again before they realize its not working out for them? You depip and gain no points when you leave a match. Eventually you'll find yourself hours into the game with no progress and deranked all the way. I want to have fun and not have to deal with toxic players when I play any game. If I experience that, I leave the match. If I get penalized for doing that, then I'll play the game less often. That is how I personally feel about the matter. If you don't agree with that then thats fine. I still have an opinion on the matter.
Don't expect the devs to agree with your opinion. If someone who wants to leave matches at their own convenience and at the expense of others is claiming they'll play the game less and less, that sounds like a positive thing for the DBD players.

Thats how it should work. But it was 100 % progressing while I was being chased. Was it a bug ? Maybe
Sometimes the Pig can keep their distance to keep the trap ticking because the game hasn't registered that they are in a chase. Not sure if that's what may have happened.

Lol. No. It should not. The d/c penalty should not exist for players that leave matches only now and then. If you leave several in a row then yea, a small penalty may be warranted. The point is no player should be forced to stay in a match they don't want to play in a game they paid for. In a game I paid to play yes, it is about what I want. I know its a team game but I'm playing for my enjoyment and entertainment. If a match does not give me that, I will leave. If the penalty ever stacks up so much I am locked out of matches for long periods of time I will quit.
I suggest you start looking for other games, then, if this is your mentality. The DC penalty is meant to stop this behavior.

Agreed which is why I suggested my change. Pure anti tunnelling
I'm not saying I am onboard with the idea necessarily, but if something like that were to be implemented, they'd have to permanently deactivate DS during the endgame to avoid making it too easy to just escape through the gate.

Yeah it's very terrible.
Slow movement speed. (bugged btw)
Very small activation window.
Blades don't affect survivors more with this power.
And blades aren't being thrown faster than normal. (Which should be a thing with this power honestly.)
@Exerath1992 said:
I'm pretty sure the intention is for him to be moving at 110% move speed and to have increased throwing speed. They should also take off the auto fire. Nobody asked for that, its dumb
I don't think that is the case. I think what Main Event does is simply make it so your movement speed does not further decay while throwing knives. It doesn't prevent you from moving slower than 110%.

If you think about it The Hag's lethality never changed, and people were playing her as I said before, setting all traps near the hook and then chasing as a 110% killer with no power. She definitely wasn't as strong back then, but people were saying that she was worst than Wraith
Maybe because her power wasn't really good in a chase or otherwise until it was buffed? >.>
-
I think they should take risks more than they currently do. Not completely through caution to the wind, but definitely spice things up a little more here and there. If they slip up a bit, they have the power to fix that with a patch.
-
I feel like mentioning Hag actually getting buffed self-defeats your own comparison. Maybe the reason people realized Hag's potential is because she got that potential after the buff.
Part of me speculates that if the Trickster gets buffed in a meaningful way, months from now people are going to be like "Everyone thought Trickster was gonna be bad, but then after he was released he turned out to be pretty good!" while conveniently ignoring the fact that he got buffed.

That's why I used expressions like "shortly after this" and not "right after this killer, this other came out". I picked these expressions and not others consciously. It wasn't random.
They might have additional abilities, but their core attack is based on their M1 / M2 skills.
I feel like you are still omitting Killers that undermine your argument. You're basically cherry picking at that point.

thats a really dark and depressing outlook on the world im sorry to admit.
You are one of those that rather stomp the poor further into the ground when they steal something to eat rather then adress their need to steal in the first place?
Take a killer that just slugs everyone and thats it, enjoy wasting 4 minutes of your life, good fun that is, there one could DC ORRRRR maybe the devs could implement something that would punish that behavior or give the survivors a legitimate way out but nope, lets just make it so you are not allowed to do it and punish if you dont want to just waste your time on the floor.
"You are one of those that rather stomp the poor further into the ground when they steal something to eat rather then adress their need to steal in the first place?"
I'm not sure what this has to do with ragequitting in a video game. Video game salt and poverty are two different things.

there is a DC penalty because people DC too much, what they did not adress is why people DC, hence we are back in the loop
Salty people will always exist no matter how balanced/fair/etc. something may be. You will never stop ragequitting because it is tied to the person. The best you can do is punish people who do so to disincentivize it.

I personally dont mind Nurse but Freddy....yeah F freddy, every time I think: "ok ok, lets give him a go... oh look jump rope, tinkerer, pop, camping, yep.....yep yep yep....good fun"
glad that killer cares about the survivor's fun huh?

From the matches I've had against Demo lately you wouldn't believe he had Portals. Its not like they use it once or twice in the match, they just literally never used it. Its weird.
---
@CustomerService How, in any way, is Trickster "hit or be hit"? I guess if you consider taking 1/8th of a health state per knife you can say this, but you aren't taking damage just because he is using his power.
Also Deathslinger.
I guess if you are bad at dodging I could see how this could be the case, but that's more a you problem than a Killer being "doomed if you do - doomed if you don't pick your poison hit or be hit".
lmao
I am a bad Demo player, so don't put much stock in my words, but his portals are fairly clunky to use IMO. Even with Corrupt, the set up is a pretty bad timewaster.
-
The order of release was not "Demogorgon, Deathslinger, P-Head, Trickster." There were other Killers in between that, and if you include those Killers, only a little over half of the Killers in that timespan are ones you mentioned. Not to mention that of the four you mentioned, two of those have additional abilities (Demo with his portals and P-Head with his torment stuff and cages) that aren't just "hitorbhit". So no, I don't think your argument that all Killers nowadays are just the same holds up very well.

I mean there are some strategic reasons to hook suicide, I myself have lost count of the times that I suicided to prevent my team from being stupid with alturism, or someone suicided once I found the hatch etc. There's elements of horror that ring very true with self-sacrifice, so it's even keeping with the theme of the horror genre to keep it in.
Sometimes we don't all get to go home, but as long as what we did mattered to those who yet live it was a life worth giving.
The only reason I actually consider even a tiny bit strategic is doing so to give the last person a shot at the hatch, and while it's a bit of a shame that such a thing will be more difficult, I think not allowing hook suicides to begin with is worth losing that.
-
@RiskyKara said:
Just a suggestion that sounds like a good idea. How about to maintain suicide on hook we have a smaller skill check that you have to deliberately go for to suicide? Something like this red one I slapped in there.
Hook suicides are just a bad idea to allow to begin with IMO.

Dude how? I will be busy with other goals for escape. So you saying follow this survivor, record it and then report. How that will work? And you think they dont know that? They can still ruin game with rules. Run to killer and then start drop all pallets. You cant report that because on record survivor will seem like in chase. So i dont think that will gonna solve it. And that will make game worse for others. If they wanna die, they have to die. Then i can try harder, i dont need traitor on my games.
"Run to killer and then start drop all pallets. You cant report that because on record survivor will seem like in chase."
You think the devs won't see a Survivor following behind a Killer and dropping pallets after them? C'mon, give them a little more credit than that.

Other games have bigger advertising budgets and can draw more people in. Fortnite is the only relevant example I can think of.
How do you explain the Power Rangers fighting game with a smaller budget than the price of a large combo meal at McDonald's having cross-progression, though?
-
I do this sometimes. If it felt like a particular Survivor was being a big derp, I'll hope the Killer gets them in the end.
-
Good news: The changes to the struggle mechanic are going to interfere with hook suiciding by making it so Survivors can't immediately just die the moment they reach struggle phase.

Survivors that really don't want to stay in a game will just go afk or ruin the game for their teammates (throwing down pallets, missing skill checks, etc). I'm glad they decided to get rid of button mashing, but I don't think this is really going to change much.
Record and report, my friend. Record and report.

If they wanna suicide they will not play normal. Just think about. If survivor wanna leave but cant leave because this change, what he/she will do? He will run around, possibly will waste all pallets and will make game worse for survivors. So that change is ridicilous. And that is not reportable because how you will prove that? Survivor can say i was just running around because i was scared. He will not get ban for that but he will run game for other survivors.
Recording. Duh. Pretty sure it's already been said in the past that doing that sort of thing constitutes griefing and is reportable, so it's not like the devs are going to easily take the Survivor at their word.

They are really wanna make this game not fun. If i dont wanna stay in match i had to chance to leave. If i wanna sacrifice myself for my teammate i have to do. But no, lets make game more harder for solo-q.
As long as they don't start breaking any rules, I'm okay with them not playing "normally." If they actively start sandbagging teammates, that's an easy record + report right there.

I agree, which is why even though my original point was that killers should stop receiving buffs, I also mentioned that survivor emblems need to be reworked so that you don't get dog water survivors getting carried to high ranks by their teammates who have to step up and take all the risks.
And yes, it is also too easy to rank up as killer. In a close match, the killer will still rank up while survivors only do if they happened to be in position to get a wide variety of actions completed and/or were lucky enough to not be targeted by the killer. You can have 3-4 survivors escape and killer still gets pips. Whereas on the survivor side you can completely dominate, do tons of gen work while stealthing your way around the killer every time he comes close, escape unscathed and still get 0 pips. And your teammate who sat crouched in the corner waiting only for 100% free unhooks but barely touched a gen still gets pips lol.
I don't actually agree that it is too easy to pip as Killer. If anything, it might be that it is too easy to pip as Survivor, which leads to bad Survivors at higher ranks for otherwise lesser Killers to feed from.

I am just saying it doesn't fix the issue, just prolongs it, and not really by much.
For me, I don't like the change only because if you are trying to give someone the opportunity to get hatch, it doesn't help them if they have already found hatch and the seconds they would have had they no longer have. So if it came down to the last two people it should have stayed instant as it is now.
The issue can never truly be fixed. This mitigates the issue.

Cant they still just stand there afk? I mean most people who want out of a match that quick, will not do anything regardless of how long it takes to suicide on hook.
They still have to wait, and if they are rescued and choose to just let me down them again, I'll intentionally avoid them until either they stop doing nothing, DC, or are the last person. That way, they don't get the convenience of leaving early.
