  • I mean gen slowdown is the only perk build that is viable in almost every game no matter the rank or skill of the survivors. Running any other build always is a risk that it could go wrong. Run oblivious build and get matched with an SWF on comms ⇒ useless, run totem build against totem cleaner perks ⇒ useless, run chase build against survivors with 10k hours that are gods at chasing and bodyblock for teammates ⇒ useless , can't finish ur first chase in 60 seconds and have no gen regression? ⇒game is more or less over.

Gen regression is a build that just always works and that many killers need cause their power isn't strong. Nerfing it even more will just push more and more players to only play S tier killers cause they get rolled by genspeed on weaker killers. That will then lead to this forum being full of even more "why do I only play against nurse or blight" posts. Also survivors have gotten a perk combo this ptb that enables them to do gens in 20-30 seconds with 2 people in most scenarios.

Don't know if just adding a secondary objective will fix this. In the end there will once again be meta perks for that as well.

  • I mean as Coconut pointed out in his new Video, with the right setup with corrective action, hyperfocus and friends that run the same build, it is possible to do gens in 15 seconds with 3 people or gens in 30 seconds with 2 people. That is without iri addons or special toolboxes or even having to hit skillchecks.

This Patch at least in regards to perks just seems like they designed it and then instantly pushed it out into PTB hoping that all the overpowered stuff hopefully gets found before it goes to live. Seems like they gave very little thought to balance and synnergy and stuff beforehand at least imo.

SM on the other hand is just a killoff and everyone knows it. Seems like they either dont have the time or resources to fix her now so she gets killed of until she can be eventually reworked In a couple of years. From what I can tell most killer players are annoyed that it gets sold as nerf cause she was way too strong when most of the time matches with her are just survivor suicide fests. T

There is plenty of variety in the killers you face as survivor. There are 37 killers on the roster now with at least a few new ones every year. They can afford to nerf one that is widely hated until they get time to rework her.

Besides, people will continue to play Skull Merchant after these changes. Not as many, surely, but that's a good thing.

    @Fleerinz said:

Why is it always the same killers every damn surv game that I play? Its always chucky nurse spirit hillbilly wesker blight

Can't you play something else for a while? Why do you always have to play the same boring killer? I am sick of hearing weskers tr or hearing nurses shrieking the moment the match starts.

Just to point that out: There are about 3-4 of these threads per week in this forum. Like Im glad if you have an experience with enough killer variety but there are apparently many other people that dont.

  • From what I can tell 90% of the outrage comes from the way this was handled by the devs.

Like there was never a real aknowledgement that maybe her key design was already not really fun to play against or even as.

The problem that many survivor players just outright refuse to play against her and instakill themselves or just go afk was never aknowledged or adressed.

The low pickrate of her was never really aknowledged or adressed. Like according to statistics 1 out of every 230 matches is a skull merchant. That means you get on average 229 times another killer until you get a skull merchant. This also points at the fact that her design is just boring and unfun to play.

From what I can tell many people are just annoyed with the approach the devs are taking now.

Instead of actively trying to adress the problems, Experiment with new powers on the PTBs etc. , for many it feels like the Devs just threw their hands in the air, aknowledged that SM sucked and they have no idea currently how to fix her and therefor took 95% of her powers away in hopes that people stop playing her and all the crying stops. Then they promise a distant remake in the future that maybe eventually might even turn out better than the Freddy remake.....or maybe not.

  • I dont think anything will change tbh. The Skull merchants numbers speak against her. She still has one of the highest kill rates in the game and the Devs have already confirmed that they nerf according to numbers. That the numbers are probably inflated cause most people just instakill themselves when they see a skull merchant and that everything has a higher impact cause she has the lowest pickrate in game probably doesnt matter.

Imo she should just be reworked at this point instead of nerfed this hard.

  • @IlliterateGenocide said:

nice, dbd got more enjoyable then

    This forum in a nutshell:

Survivors: Happy skull merchant is now also nerfed so hard, that noone will ever pick her and I'll never see her again

Also survivors: Opening thread why they only go up against the same 4 killers all the time.

  • I think its the wrong approach. Skull merchant and Twins were always "problem killers" with very low pickrates and considered annoying to play against for different reasons which led to very many complaints about these killers everywhere.

The changes to these killers just seem like an "out of sight out of mind" thing. Just nerf the problem killers so hard that they get picked even less and if they get picked, the player gets smoked by every decent survivor group. Then noone except the few SM or Twins players still complains, which means problem solved, which means moving on to designing the new chapters.

At this point these killers should just be redesigned from the ground up to make them fun to play against and as. Not nerfed like this in hopes they get forgotten somewhere in DBD Limbo like Trapper or Freddy.

  • Honestly I think the issue seems to be that you dont play these killers often.

I took a longer break from DBD right after Xeno but was a Huntress/Plague/Meyers main before that. When I came back after Chucky release I bought every killer I was missing and started playing them for Adept. The first like 10 matches I had on each of my missing killers that I never played before were the absolute sweatfests that you are describing. 8k hours on every survivor, BNP, swf.

On the killers I played regularly before and am still playing now my experience is not nearly that bad but the survivors seem more chill and approximately my skill level.

So what Im personally thinking is that the MMR is confused on what to do with you, when it doesnt have enough data about you on that particular killer. The solution it goes for seems to be that it justs puts you in the highest available skill bracket that is queuing at that time rather than risking putting you vs a team that you would absolutely stomp.

So the solution would be to actually play more killer so the MMR gets more data about you . Im having pretty balanced matches now on the killers that got constant sweatfests before

  • Happens every once in a while.

When Im playing huntress, which is my main with like 800 hours on her, I also sometimes get survivors that have like 80 hours in the game and are completely confused about what is happening.

As confirmed by the devs the mmr system values queue times more than actual skill rating. Also the defintion of skill by the mmr system is wonky at best and it sometimes just seems outright confused what to do if you are a newer player or pick up a new killer character.

  • @RoastedGarlic said:

you'd think with a match making system based on skill it wouldn't be as bad as it is. Its almost as if the skill based match making system doesnt actually factor in skill…. at all…

Like Im pretty sure at this point that the SBMM is responsible for most problems this game is having atm. People just dont get matched in their skill bracket.

KIllers that get destroyed start camping and tunneling cause they feel its the only way they have a chance and then after a while adapt that playstyle for every game.

Survivors insta kill themselves when they go down to fast or against a killer that destroyed them before cause they assume it will go the same way anyways. Or they get matched with beginner teammates while facing a killer one Trick with like 1k hours on that Single killer.

After that both sides come here and complain that the other side needs to be hard nerfed and that the other side has all the cool stuff while they themselves got nothing

  • I second OPs opinion that killers generally should be hard nerfed. But especially wraith and pig

Take away wraiths ability to uncloak and make him watch angrily as survivors do gen.

Make it so that when you load in as pig you first need to actually pass a trial yourself which consists of having to solve university math equations. If you give thr wrong answer you get banned from DBD for a year.

Also make it that if you down a survivor as pig you get a trap placed on yourself that you need to disarm in 60 seconds or your PC explodes. (Pig players need to be stopped)

  • I'm fine with anticamp getting a little buff but this would just be way too much for normal and way too abusable.

Shouldn't be the point of anticamp to give every survivor base OTR so they can run across the map after the unhook and tank a hit for their teammate that the killer, that wasnt even camping, is chasing and all that without having to use a survivor perk slot for it.

  • Probably Plague aka Adiris.

From what I remember from her lore she never murdered or did anything evil to anyone but rather as a high priestress tried to save and help as many people as she could. When one woman got sick she even severed her own toe to make a blood offering to the gods to try and cure her. When the plague struck her town she continued to help, pray and feed her people and even exiled herself when she caught the plague herself.

When she was about to die and made a final prayer to the gods to save her people and city the entity heard, tricked and kidnapped her to its realm.

There are multiple "innocent" killers that got more or less tricked by the entity (like artist or billy) but I feel like plague deserves the most to get out since she arguably did the most good while she was still alive

  • @kosaba11 said:

The only reason camping, tunneling, and slugging are done is because the crap players who use such tactics aren't punished for it. That's it. BHVR endorses these strategies, and doesn't give two craps about the survivor experience. They make more money off of killers, so they only care about whether the killers are having fun, rather than the game being fun for everyone.

From my personal experience and collection I would assume that 99% of the DBD economy is running on feng and sable skins.

Also most packs consist of a killer AND a survivor and I would also assume that a lot of people just buy the whole chapter and dont go out of their way to only buy one side. So I don't know where exactly you got that Information from that killers spent way more money than survivors on this game.

  • I mean people learn how to play against certain killers by....playing against them. Analysing how certain killers work, which strats work against them etc. is the essential part of the survivor gameplay and the more often people play against a certain killer the better they get.

I think vecna has such a high kill rate since there aren't very many vecna players around, as also shown in the statistic, so people have little chance to practice and get caught off guard more often. Over time the killrate will probably even out.

Same happens with dark lord atm. Not a lot of killers play him and many survivors are lost what to really do against him rn

  • Like everyone else says its a region/MMR thing. For me in EU it has been the same rythm every day since the BP incentive first came out with only a break during 2vs8. From 2am to 4pm I get 100% survivor bonus and from 4pm to 2am 100% killer bonus.

Well that's typically in ranked. I do agree that's probably how it should work for dbd as well.

But since we know it doesn't I'm just confused as to why OP thought they could go out of practice for virtually an entire chapter and come back on top.

Well tbf I can understand his frustration to an extent since even if MMR would slowly decline if you dont play it seems absolutely confused what to do with you if you pick up a killer you never played.

When I bought unknown 1 month after its release and started playing him my first 20 matches were just SWFs with like 10k hours each, comp teams etc. Same happened with singularity or Chucky. Each time you pick up a new killer you get the feeling that you need to play yourself "down" into your skill bracket and not slowly up as you get better with the killer.

I agree with you that you shouldn't dominate or even get a kill when you pick up a new killer but you also shouldn't get completely destroyed cause you start the ranking process for that killer in the highest possible skill bracket.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

"But that's because you allready lost you see it would just waste time.." no man when exit gates are open and are close you can still use and have good chance of escaping and using your perks… ahhh so annoying.

I think the change away from the last person still going normally through all the hook states has less to do with a "the match is over anyways" thing but more a timeloss thing.

At least from my memory when this was still a thing a lot of survivors wouldnt even try to unhook themselves (mostly out of spite I would presume) but rather just slowly die on hook and make the killer wait for 2 minutes with nothing to do.

Its the same complaint that people have when they slowly bleed out instead of getting hooked and why so many people here demand an unbreakable basekit.

What are you considering toxic behaviour? Are you just overreacting to someone pressing control a couple of times? The vast majority of the community is just looking to have fun. I play a lot of DBD and encounter truly toxic gamers maybe once or twice a month. Of course, that number will increase if you're hard camping and tunnelling, but the majority of the time, if you're trying something fun with survivors, they'll join in.

Survivors who won't leave unless you're watching them is mildy annoying, but that's about as toxic as survivors get 99% of the time.

The only thing that is unfun 100% of the time in DBD these days are Chucky games.

But that might honestly just be a SBMM thing. For me its not as bad as OP claims but 80% of my games are 3 or 4 man SWFS and at least 2 out of 10 games I play are good old bully squads (or survivors trying to be one). Talking 3 man Head On on Glenvale, with flashbangs and flashlights and 1 designated gen-pusher while 3 people try to keep u permastunned.

Also I get a lot of toxicity after the game. Not even about the playstyle necessarily but the killer choice, perk choice etc. In the first game people complain that you sweat by playing nurse and leave a comment about that on your profile, next game people complain about you playing Meme-build-Pig when they sent you to Springfield and you therefor not putting up a real challenge for them and the match being boring.

Glad that you apparently dont have these experiences for whatever reason but that doesnt mean that these things dont exist anymore. Maybe not as bad as OP claims them to be but it still happens.

  • Like the fact alone that almost every killer runs more or less the same build, which are the meta slowdown perks, should tell you something about the usefulness of other killer perks. Very many killer perks are also just borderline useless. Like when is the last time you have seen a killer run overwhelming presence, septic touch, monstrous shrine, shattered hope, zanshin tactics, terminus,…….

The list goes on and on. Killer perk situation is just as bad as survivor situation. So no I dont think they favour a certain side when it comes to perks.

I find kinda funny that what you described sounds as an amazing game to me, yet you act like it's end of the world...

    I guess different expectations.

    a) its not the end of the World. Its just a video game after all. And im not saying that looping the killer for such a long time and having an impact wasnt fun. Things like this are just annoying when they happen too often.

    b) This just Shows a large problem that solo queue is having. Most survivors only play as a team as long as it benefits them. There is just no incentive to keep playing as a team and try to get everyone out except personal preference. Many people just leave their "teammates" even though they have 0 hooks and BT cause they can get out and have no reason to get back cause MMR or even BP gain doesnt reward that kind of play

    c) The MMR System that we are having rewards plays that consist of hiding in a corner and maybe doing 1 gen and then getting out more than plays that consist of Looping the killer sucessfully for a long time, doing multiple gens but in the end getting left by the team. In they eyes of MMR I lost those games while the rest of my team won. If it happens often enough I get put into an even lower bracket and am basically smurfing without really wanting to. This also intensifies the problems I had in my original Post

  • Well they have added a lot of ambiance over the last year by putting a lot of estetic stuff like Walls, Bushes and trees everywhere. After that they now reduce the map size which is a good change at least imo.

Some maps were just so big that you hat no chance of holding gens cause you couldnt get there in time. Especially with the 4.4 non Mobility killers like huntress or old trickster

Had literary matches where I loaded in with lethal, saw 2 survivors hop on a gen on the other side of the Map and by the time I was there gen was done and survivors were gone. Thats not fun gameplay

  • Game is neither really killer or survivor sided imo. Matchmaking is having some issues is all.

Im maining killer with over 2k hours on killer alone. Im not the best but im decent.

    the issues im noticing:

    • Sometimes when I play my main killer I get survivors with like 100 hours that Look at me confused when they get hit
    • When I pick up a new killer like Dracula or singularity especially I get only put into the sweatiest SWF matches until I have lost myself down to my skill level.
    • As survivor I get absolute beast killers with 9k hours and after that killers that have more or less startet just playing.

The list could go on and on. SBMM apparently works as many streamers etc confirm. But it is influenced by so many other things that dont have anything to do with your skill: queue times, time of day, swf or not, played killer/survivor.

Like for me the Kind of survivors I get is super Dependand on the time of day for example.

So yeah SBMM thing is my guess

  • Midwich would be an obvious pick for good map, since that map consists to like 40% of lockers.

Bad maps are probably the ones with big open fields like mothers dwelling or coldwind

  • @satx3241 said:

I am always bewildered by this type of thought process. It doesn't matter which side it comes from.

    - The other side is doing something I don't personally like. They aren't breaking any rules. They aren't hacking. They aren't cheating in any way. The thing they are doing is 100% allowable. However, since I don't like it I will claim they are playing unfairly.

    - In retaliation for them being unfair to me I am going to play in a way that is also 100% allowable. I won't break rules, hack, or cheat. I will say I am playing unfairly also but I will put the word unfairly in quotes describing my actions because the only reason I am doing the completely allowable thing I am doing is because I was forced to do so by the completely allowable thing the other side is doing. I will even tell the other side after the game that I only played the way I did because they did something totally within the rules, but I personally didn't like it.

Isn't that what everyone that is trying to play this game seriously at all does? They adapt the way they play based on the situation. There's nothing wrong with that. Above all there is nothing unfair about someone doing something that is part of the game….. like playing a map offering.

In theory I would agree with you but in these last couple of days especially, map offerings have become very obnoxious at least for me. Just today I played about 80% of my games as killer on Glennvale vs good SWFs that each chose this map cause of the strong main building loop. I theoretically like this map but that doesnt mean that I want to play the majority of my games on it. Part of the fun of DBD is the different maps and how you have to adjust your playstyle (at least for me).

I even tried bringing sacrificial wards to 2 games and both times had 1 survivor DC in loading screen…..

I'm not against map offerings at all but there should at least be the possibility for killer to block 1 map if you just have enough of it. Sacrificial wards were a good try but they are useless if those survivor groups just choose one person that DCs in loading screen.

    Anti-FACEcamping.

It doesnt bother killers proxi camping much, you can keep your distance yet still have eyes on the hooked person.

Thats just not true tbh. I had a game yesterday on Thompson House where I hooked someone in House basement and afterwards went to check upstairs to break the wall and gen on the upper floor and anticamp kicked in and made the survivor in the basement unhook themselves. I even asked in endgame chat if they got unhooked or the anti camp unhooked them and it was the latter.

Just checking the gen on upper floor apparently was enough for the anti camp to be sure that I am camping. Just another feature that was implemented without making adjustments to maps etc. to make sure you dont accidentally get punished for not camping.

    • Watch ur positioning and running time. Lfs strength is obviously his insta down so you should position urself when your doing a gen, that you see him early and can at least make the next strong window so he cant instadown you.
    • Learn pallet timing. Throw too early he instabreaks with his chainsaw, Throw to late and ur dead, Throw just right, u stun him and get away.
    • Learn tandrum timing for locker plays to force an m1 as a last way out
    • If your out of other options try to run Environment rather than structures. Hitboxes on many environment objects are super wonky and sometimes force tandrums cause he hits an invisible hitbox
  • I also had some questionable encounters in the last 3 weeks. A lot of survivors that just seemed to be a little bit faster than they should be and with a yellow FL with no addons that was used to blind me like 15 times. But the thing with these super subtle things is that it might just be a you thing and people aren't cheating.

But I also had like 3 blatant cheaters in these 3 weeks. One was a claudette that was just fishy af and where I was sure that she was subtle cheating. So I refused to unhook her which then made her Port around the entire map and point out every surv while the killer was working with her to kill us. Then in the end she just ported herself out.

A Ripley with her SWF that I endgame camped and that then just flew out while still on hook, then crashed the Server so I didnt get any points and then added me on steam to boast about it.

And another SWF member that got so mad that they lost that he crashed the Server and posted on my Profile how I like my 0 BP.

Thing is I reported these 3 that were obvious but from what I can tell they are still normally playing DBD. Got the hacker that added me to boast still in my friendslist and he's still online every evening. The other 2 I checked after a while and they are also still playing normally. Just find it so weird that these things apparently dont get picked up by anticheat and that these people have to be reported so much that BHV manually looks into them. That also means that these Hackers are still in circulation so to say and that new ones will also start playing and that leads to encountering more and more of them.

So yeah your not alone. Happens more and more again unfortunately now that the big crackdown on Hackers that the devs did has slowly worn off.

  • You cannot change the playstyle of other people just the way you deal with it.

I also took a longer break from DBD after playing consistently for like 2 years and accumulating almost 2k hours. I took the break because I had a lot going on irl but actually realised a couple of weeks into my break that the point where I had fun with the game was just long gone. I played DBD every evening not cause I was having fun but because I had gotten used to it and instead of cheering me up and giving me a break from real life, as games are designed to do, it was making me even more frustrated cause of the various problems this game just has on both sides.

I started playing again after a 9 month break for 2vs8 with a few friends and actually had fun with DBD again. Since then I played more matches but not nearly as frequent as before the break and with more of a strict eye on myself if Im truly still enjoying playing this or if im playing because I force myself to.

My advice from my own experience would be that if you feel like you want to play again, go for it. But you have to be aware that things like tunneling, camping, toxicness etc. have and probably always will be Part of this game. So if you get affected by these things you should stop regularly and ask yourseld of you are still playing DBD cause you are actually enjoying it or if you play it because you feel the need to and if that is the case rather take an early break than to go down the downward spiral

  • @Nazzzak said:

I play between 10am and midday. I find it's alot more chill. I tend to avoid weekends and night time

Must be nice. If I try to queue for killer before evening/nighttime im more or less in 15 to 20 Minute queues.

  • I personally enjoy the DCs in loading screen if somebodys map offering got cancelled or a second map offering was burnt and now there is a chance they dont get the map they want. Most fun in this game I had in a while

  • @Seraphor said:

This is an invitation to tunnel. They want you to remove them from the game as fast as possible.

It can make tunneling a little less effective, so it could feasibly help their teammates escape. However eliminating that one survivor early still grants you the upper hand. Less of an upper hand if they didn't have OtR and DS to waste your time, but an upper hand nonetheless.

So tunneling them out is the correct play. It's what they want after all.

Yeah I see it the same way but apparently the survivors that play this way mostly dont (according to many endgame chats I had when facing this combo)

Ur just supposed to eat the DS and take the unnecessary timeloss that is more or less forced on you since you didnt even tunnel and then after you got hit, go chase another survivor and have the cycle repeat cause otherwise you're breaking the rules.

For me personally this viewpoint just makes no sense and it amazes me that it is apparently so widespread that this is what's supposed to happen in that Situation

To be generous I count 30 out of 53 maps being garbage for her between indoor maps and clutter. I would argue more like 37 to be accurate but those maps are kinda iffy.

And Scott also exactly explained why he switched to maining Wraith and it’s because “The Devs are obsessed with adding random garbage to every map that makes playing her exhausting”

Which after they added the variations to Ormond, Yamaoka and cold wind. AND the rework for Midwhich that ruined the one indoor map she was alright on. I definitely understand why he gave up on her.

Umbra another huge ex-huntress streamer also quit playing her for similar reasons.

She said that nowadays huntress gameplay mostly boils down to pallet showdowns since most new or reworked maps hardly allow for long or even cross map shots. Just having each match be multiple pallet showdons is boring and frustrating for both sides according to her.

From my own experience as a semi-huntress main I can see where she is coming from. Even though I don't really see how these buff help her with these issues since it seems to be more of a map Design problem than a killer problem. The new map Designs feel a lot like aestetics over playability for many killers imo

  • @Langweilig said:

I can completely understand you, but many people me included want to get value from their perks and when the killer doesn‘t tunnel those perks are wasted, so you throw yourself in the killer to get them to work. Not the smartest move for shure. At least I did not complain about it as I did it.

Yeah I totally understand that and dont per se have a problem with survivors trying to make DS work even though the killer doesnt even tunnel them. Waste of a perk slot as you said.

What Im suprised about is how many people that run this combo and play like this, and waste your time by baiting their DS and hitting you with it, get super outraged when they get tunneled after that. Like you more or less try to bait a tunnel, waste your anti tunnel defence on something that was nt originally tunneling and then get mad that you get tunneled.

Had literary every 3-4 games today someone complain about this. Like yeah Im trying really hard to hit you with DS to waste your time but after I pull it off you then have to go chase someone else. That line of thinking just makes no sense to me.

  • Objectively: maybe 20% of the games people get hard tunneled out before the match really starts.

subjectively: 90% of the games someone gets tunneled.

  • Multiple reasons I would think.

Camping is one of the easiest ways to get kills and hooks cause the worst thing that could happen is to trade. As we all know since a certain event kills=skill so people are in that definition winning like that.

Then there is the them vs us component that drives a suprising amount of people in this game. Killer for example faces a bully squad, has a miserable experience and wants to pass on that toxicity. Best way to do that is to camp someone and make Sure they also have no fun.

  • For me she is like nurse. When u first pick her up you can see her potential and how good she could be. But u cant make her work without first putting many hours into learning to play her

Then again with how current DBD is ( broken mmr system, tocicity etc ) its not exactly fun to learn a killer that needs this much practice . Many players just give up along the way without having ever truly mastered her. But very good artists are still strong and opressive af. But there just aren't that many

Dont know what to tell you; it happens. Had 3 swfs today that all brought lucky break, lightweight, iron will and a 4th perk, with toba landing offering and 3 fog offerings. I neither have a problem with looping or people hiding but running around for 10 minutes just kicking gens cause I cant find survivors is just super unfun. And apparently its a strat that ppl are beginning to use more and more.

  • I mean the endgame chat is already pretty toxic as is. Dont know if a few kids would actually make it worse. And you always have the choice to limit ur Interaction with other players to just the gameplay if you really want to.

Also such a popular licence could bring a big change to the game in a good way

If a huge wave of people starts playing just for FNAF chapter it might force BHV to more actively fix some of the bigger issues like genrushing, camping, tunneling, bugs, swf...so that these people dont get instantly frustrated and quit dbd after a week and just buy the FNAF chapter.

  • The FNAF creator said in an interview a few days ago that he just very recently warmed up to the idea of giving the Fnaf IP into other hands. Also its Fnafs 10 year anniversary atm and the announcement that fnaf characters would be in other games is a very big point in the anniversary schedule.

My guess is that BHV and scott just very recently came to an agreement for the collab and decided to announce it early to push the anniversary event and also build hype and maybe draw some of the fnaf people into dbd already.

Release date is probably so far away and unspecified because nothing is developed yet and that stuff takes time ans there are probably a lot of challenges to consider that might slow development down.

But who knows, this is just what makes sense to me.

The only thing Im pretty Sure about is that it won't just be skins. The hype train around this collab is absolutely escalating and it would be marketing suicide to just in a year go: yeah heres like 3 killers in an animatronic suit skin, so have fun.

  • Its FNAFs 10 year anniversary event atm. They have like a whole programm planned with Interviews and new reveals etc. Cawthon was always very protective about his IP and said in an interview from like a few days ago that he just recently warmed up to the idea of actually giving the FNAF IP away cause he was very impressed with what Steelwool studios has done with.

So long story short, they probably just recently came to an agreement cause scott was not completely opposed anymore (makes sense with summer 2025 date) and decided to reveal early to have another huge point for anniversary event and maybe even draw some of the dbd crowd over to the event. The reveal was hyped like crazy by the FNAF youtubers and Streamers and also cawthon himself the last days ( he even went into peoples stream chats and hyped the reveal)

A whole year in advance to know about it too, huh?

Wonder if it's just skins then? I can't imagine they'd tease a chapter this far in advance.

They probably announced it now cause FNAF has 10 year anniversary event atm, with interviews with scoot cawthon etc. Also Cawthon always loves to do these things and reveals this way

  • Its cool that its happening but summer 2025 is sooooooo far away atm. Another year of waiting

  • I guess it depends on why they give up, at least for me. They get tunneled or camped or the killer is stomping hard and they are on last hook stage, I'm fine with them saying they want to go next.

But most of the time, its more that they lose the first chase and instantly go "nah dude, thats bs and I'm out" while most of the time they would still have had a good chance to win the game in that situation. Annoys me that it ruins it for the other survivors and also for the killer. Especially during archives or adept attempts.

If the 10 games you played on survivor were from the first day of the event, you're proving my point. I played 10 games yesterday, and all 10 had slugging killers at 3 survivors left. Killers have learned either through common sense or content creators that slugging will help achieve 8ks. A strategy that came about since the event went live.

I agree with you that 2v8 is a subjective experience, which was the whole point of my post. What's not subjective is actual data points and trends from the beginning of the event to now.

I've played my 10 games yesterday and have only once experienced a killer duo that slugged a bit more. So no proof there I guess.

Also to my knowledge there isn't a graph that shows the average slugging time or survivors in this mode.

The audacity of this post lol.

Fun is subjective, an opinion. To say this mode is fun in such a matter-of-fact manner while having the gall to tell OP that their opinion on the mode is no good, AND THEN saying that they should find enjoyment out of being happy for YOU because you're having fun? I mean come on lol.

Also to say that the mode isn't competitive while ignoring the surplus of killers who've now learned to slug at 3 survivors remaining to prevent hatches from spawning so completely disingenuous about the state of 2v8 it's unreal.

Seems like a subjective 2vs8 experience. I played about 10 games on both sides and havent really experienced slugging, camping ir tunneling. Judging from most posts on this forum and the amount of upvotes they get over the ones saying the mode sucks I would say urs is a very subjective experience and you shouldn't project that on other people games by saying the mode is unbalanced or a sluggfest.

  • I think he is fine and its more or less an issue of how u play against him.

Most survivors I play with or against play the same against every killer which means holding W, hammering spacebar and vaulting an throwing everything they see. He is a hard counter to that.

But theres also many survivors that know how to loop and mindgame that do just fine against him.
