Ok then we can agree.
My first post to which you replied was exactly to point out the stupidity of the argument that other guy made about 'swf op's, because that argument can be made about everything
I should have clarified better in my reply then. I meant both conclusions were dumb.
Like, when you put a really good player against pub lobbies, they will win almost all of them because they are just outright better than most pub lobbies. Case in point: Ryuga on pre-update Legion with 160 game winstreak with meme/random builds (before the midchapter DS nerf), and wasn't even going for a streak originally, just noticed he was doing well and decided to keep record till it ended. Same with good survivors or good killer players getting kill/escape streaks on basically anything and everything.

Ok so nurse gets 200+ wins BUT some games were close -> she's not broken
Hens gets 150+ wins BUT some games were close -> swf broken
Please explain
I'm saying both conclusions are stupid.

What about nurses going on 200+ win streaks? Those don't count as broken right? Those are ok right?
Any big win streak from absurdly good players is irrelevant lmao, they’re better than the absolute majority of the playerbase. You are talking about a comp player using super strong builds on Nurse and going all-out against pub lobbies. It would be stupid they don’t stomp most matches given they are better than the majority of players.
If you put Team Eternal (the best DBD comp team in the world currently) on 4 man SWF and had them play with absolute strongest builds and going all out against pubs, they would eviscerate basically every single lobby ever.
Also, the Nurse player in question still had multiple games where he nearly lost the streak even despite everything in his favor, because he occasionally came up against also extremely insane players, which he had barely won through the skin of his teeth. His streak could have been over like 5x over already if it had gone even slightly differently.
-
Nurse is balanced according to actual evidence. No, this is not the useless kill rate charts even BHVR says they don’t like posting because people take it out of context when the data is meaningless because it merges all factors.
-
"People ragequit over a part of the game"
And somehow you get to the conclusion it’s the game that’s at fault and not the players’ attitudes…???
-
People need to learn to play against Nurse. If they aren’t running range/3 blink and you get hit, that is 100% on you.

People not knowing how to play against Nurse is not a balance problem.

lmao

I wonder if people will realize some day that BHVR literally stated those kill charts were out-of-date.

wait wait wait. wait wait wait. Did you just. Put. Nurse. As the most well designed Killer In the game.
Yes. She has the most balanced and well-designed killer power in the game, because she cannot auto-win on tiles, but will not auto-lose on tiles. She has the ability to make all areas in the game a 50/50 that comes down to which of the two players is better at mindgaming the other.
-
Nurse, with the exception of range add-ons and Torn Bookmark
Blight, with the exception of Alchemist Crow, C33, and C21
Has both mobility and anti-loop up constantly, which is good design, but also requires winning mindgames to land hits with the anti-loop power.
In comparison, other killers either:
- Don't have near-constant mobility, which means they lose time efficiency regardless of skill if it's a big map or against hold W
- Don't have near-constant anti-loop, which means they lose time efficiency regardless of skill if there's strong tile setups
- Or don't have interactive anti-loop, which means they win or lose mostly regardless of the survivor
- Example: Nemesis - If the survivor vaults or drops a pallet, they guaranteed get hit by M2. If they don't, they guaranteed get hit by M1 a few seconds later. The sole and exclusive option is hold W, which hard counters Nemesis and the killer can do absolutely nothing about other than just wait to catch up. But the survivor has zero options in chase otherwise.
-
DBD when people have different interests from them:
-
They didn't get rid of it though?
-
If only the people who spent this much time complaining about Nurse spent even half that time learning to play against them.
-
It's very clear a lot of people in this thread do not understand what they are talking about, so I’ll do them a kindness and make it clear. BHVR has talked about this sort of thing before in a previous Q&A stream. For the extremely, absurdly, insanely, ridiculously good players, there is almost no one else at their level. So what happens when they queue up?
Option A: The queue takes literally hours waiting for enough people at an equal skill level for a full lobby in that region.
Option B: They get matched against way weaker players so that queues go faster, even if it will very obviously be a stomp.
BHVR goes with B, as does any other game company with a PVP system because making players wait for hours is stupid.
Now, what happens when you put someone, who compared to the absolute majority of players in this game, is indisputably leagues better, against most average lobbies? It's an utter rout.
And… even so. Alf has still had multiple points where he's had extremely rough games he had won barely through the skin of his teeth. Despite using the best killer with ultra strong builds and playing all out against pub lobbies. Cause guess what, occasionally, you will still get a tough lobby even if you are that good, because it will happen other players like you are also playing coincidentally at times.
So let's have another example: Team Eternal (the current undeniable best team in DBD who utterly dominates every tournament) or Team Trauma (the only team to ever come close to beating Eternal). Have either of them play 4-man SWF/Nurse/etc on Discord, no restrictions on loadouts, and have them go absolutely all out. (Which normally teams like that don't in pubs, because it's boring and no point to win every game by a landslide) You are free to guess how many 3-4 man escapes/kills in a row they will get, with the comparison of the average lobby versus them.

It's a bit strange, but when everyone is hooked, but the game knows you will get off the hook sometimes it doesn't auto kill you because you can kobe. I don't know how it works, but I just know it happens quite a lot so much so I often prime a hatchet right at them if I don't notice them auto dying because I realize the game is saying they can jump of hook.
Can anyone else confirm this happens lol?
If everyone is dead when you hook the last, it auto-kills.
If someone is on hook when you hook the last, it doesn't auto-kill.
-
Go pick the slug back up.
-
You are supposed to be unable to hide. That is literally the point, and it is balanced as is.
-
It's a literal complete waste of time.
Example A: Survivor doesn't use it to spite the killer and make them wait out the entire hook stage.
Example B: You fail (in non-Deliverance example), then you die.
Example C: You succeed, then you jump off. Then get downed. Then get waited out for 60s. Then hooked and killed anyways. And when the Mori update comes, last survivor alive being downed will automatically Mori them.

@Biscuits said:
From what I have seen playing, aura's aren't active during their duration, they are triggered in an instance and then the effect is carried out. For example if a killer is running BBQ and you are in a locker, you can still jump out while BBQ is active, you just needed to be in the locker while it activated. So the duration doesn't matter, as long as that player has a token at the activation of lethal or BBQ, it only eats one stack.
Then it makes no sense for Distortion to be a limited time per token. Lethal is bugged and is supposed to be 11 seconds but it's only 9 currently. If there's only 1 Token and an aura would reveal it for longer than 10s, Distortion would not be able to block it completely.
-
Do those gens early and prevent the 3-gen lmao. If you get 3-genned, that's literally your fault.

You'd find it ironic then, when I say that I mainly play Killer.
And from a Killer's perspective, the fact that Nurse and Blight are the two best Killers (inarguably and arguably, respectively) makes it so that there's less character diversity at higher to top levels. Since these two are clearly the best, players who want a competitive advantage will gravitate towards them since most Killers don't tend to have anything in their kits comparable enough to even hold a candle to these two.
Spirit, maybe, since she's arguably the second best in the current patch (thanks to a few changes), but other than that, you'd be hard pressed to find a Killer remotely close to the viability of the two.
And any other for the sake of being competitive is practically a waste of time since you're actively gimping yourself to play who you want to, not who you know is the best and the likely necessity for you/your team.
What I speak is purely from an observational standpoint of players who verse these characters at at least high level, in addition to watching high level players of those same characters in a majority of their matches.
So... buff weaker killers.

Increasing suicide on hook/DCing is going to get kill rates up, which is going to affect the statistics and is therefore a legitimate way to tell the devs that something is wrong with their game in the current state. SoloQ is bs right now, not gonna blame people for dc.
"suiciding is a legitimate way to inflate kill rates" Do you even read what you say?

I dont think the devs "intended" for the new meta to be about stacking 3-4 slowdown perks and dragging a game for +30min until surv literally bore to death and stop trying to win.
I am totally fine with DH being nerfed, i dont use it. With this new meta, i dont.
I think some of the slowdown changes were unnecessary (eg, increasing gens to 90s). That is separate from excusing DCs and ragequitting which I am strictly against.

I agree there's immaturity on both sides, but your suggestions of how to fix it (Stop whining. Stop suiciding.) are all things for Survivors to do... hmmm
I wasn't aware whining was survivor-specific. This also applies to killers DCing over whatever petty inane reasons as well. It's just this topic is specifically about survivors. I am against immaturity regardless of player or side.

The only ones throwing a tantrum are people like you, who for whatever reason arent able to analyze the patch in a neutral way.
Ah yes, neutrally analyzing people ragequitting.
-
Here we see an exhibit of people incapable of distinguishing intended from balanced. Furthermore not realizing that devs themselves have said DH for distance was unintended and not what they wanted the perk to be used for.
Something being intended has no relevance to balance. It means it is in the game to be used. If you have a problem with balance, take it up with devs. If it is unbalanced to the devs, they will work on some way to address it. Ragequitting and throwing tantrums is not the answer.
-
So your conclusion is the power is a problem. Instead of just buffing solo Q info so they can handle it better. What???
-
Uh... first of all. You do realize your immature tantrums ruin it for the other 3 survivors too, right?
Second of all, the killer is playing using things that the devs made available to use in ways that are also within typical gameplay. You are the one ragequitting over what is a part of the game, despite queueing up for it.

Even IF this is the answer and people just need to "git gud". I can't say I even blame people for quitting, If Survivor queues are largely instant right now and you are completely miserable in the current match why wouldn't you just die and get into a more enjoyable experience.
Because it's ruining it for the other 3 survivors and the killer who are now stuck in a 3v1 which is literally unwinnable if the killer is good?

what do you think should happen next?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3088351#Comment_3088351
Nothing. It means people need to get over it and stop artificially inflating stats by giving up.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3088322#Comment_3088322
but what if they don't want tho?
I mean, isn't the game made of people?
what if the people who play the game don't wanna "grow up" and "stop bein immature babies" and play it anymore?
what happens next?
So in the end, do you think devs should care about players being unhappy with the game, or you think that's silly?
what do you think made this last patch possible? the devs woke up one day and decided to change it or they did it cause killer main were complaining? What's your take on that?
The devs do not have to change things because people whine and throw tantrums.
They made this patch because in their data, they felt kill rates were low and buffed it. If escape rates were low, they’d buff it the other way instead.
-
One side being immature does not excuse the other. Both sides need to grow up and handle things maturely. Whining is not it. Neither is suiciding on hook/DCing. Game balance does not excuse immaturity.

That doesn't matter. What matter is it's happening at a lot now, indicating a problem with game health.
No, it indicates a problem with maturity. Balance does not excuse ragequitting. People need to grow up and get over themselves and submit feedback to devs maturely, not throwing tantrums.

You feel better getting that out? Good. Now let’s try to think practically about what the game needs instead of throwing around unhelpful superiority nonsense.
fun fact, deciding to ragequit by DC/suiciding on hook and ruining the game for the other 4 players in the lobby because you don’t feel like facing something that’s a part of the game that is available to be used is on you, not them
something being potentially unbalanced doesn’t excuse ragequitting
-
Yeah it's a symptom of people being immature instead of adapting.
-
"Remove the counterplay in knowing you baited out the DH early"
Yeah, no.
-
Nurse:
- Everything she does is mindgameable, and by extension, counterable. If you lost the mindgame, that’s on you.
- Range addons and 3 blink addon is busted, both need full rework.
- She cannot land a regular M1 hit basekit without her blink unlike every single other killer in the game (unless a survivor is stupid and walks into her). That is why it makes no sense to make it a special attack. Blinking has counterplay, and Exposed perks all have their own counterplay built in.
Blight:
- Everything Blight can do is mindgameable. Hug tech and moon rushes are something that’s more of a flashy visual technique than something actually helpful. Bump logic is stronger than sliding ever was. The counter to sliding is to just run off the loop and the Blight will slide past you. Removing hug tech makes no sense, it’s one of the easiest parts to counter.
- Speed add-ons aren’t a problem. You aren’t meant to react. You’re meant to mindgame.
- Alchemist Ring/C33 are busted and so is C21 because it prevents mindgaming.
- Blight does not have a M1 power attack because he has better map mobility (with exception of different floors/stairs) than Nurse who on average crosses a map at the same speed a regular 115% does by walking. Also he can reposition multiple times more than Nurse. Furthermore, he attacks with his power while moving. Nurse’s power is movement, she cannot attack with the power itself. She moves to a destination and attacks.
Outside of range/3 blink/Alchemist Ring/C33/C21, Nurse and Blight are balanced.
-
Maybe, maybe not. But whether or not Open-Handed should get the buff (which I think would be okay) is irrelevant to the fact Lethal Pursuer did. Killer and survivor have a lot of differences and things will not translate evenly. On average, killer perks are meant to be better given there’s only up to 4 of them.
-
She is balanced. (With exception of range and three blinks add-on)
-
Going against Nurse/Blight is most fun, but I like all of them except Hag cause of her jumpscare traps.
-
DBD players when they don’t realize BHVR doesn’t add a way to stop/increase/slow the hook timer because it’s insanely overpowered and abusable:
-
"Make a completely overpowered perk that is uncounterable to the majority of killers in this game when it was removed from Dead Hard for that exact reason."
🤦
-
Bug still exists
-
Bug still exists
-
DCing over any in-game reason that isn't a cheater or game-breaking bug (eg, permanently stuck in a hill) is pathetic and immature.
-

Hug tech will not change his ranking at all if anything it will encourage flashy blight mains to actually run tiles correctly instead of relying on a gimmick
I pretty much agree. Bump logic is stronger than hug tech ever was or is. Trying to remove it and likely bugging collisions when it's not even overpowering in the first place makes no sense.
-
Point still stands. It is better to make it an accepted feature and balance around it. It is easier to counter than bump logic, because the only thing needed to counter it is running away off the loop. They will zoom past you still sliding. Hug tech is inherently a risk because it trades using less tokens for being less reliable/easier to counter.
