I mean, you won if you had fun.
if winning means a 4k, and that means fun, and that's not available to everyone, that's a design issue.
And that means I don't play the game or at least the role anymore. Which is what has happened.

It not a competitive game no matter how much mmr is used.
So what is the goal of the match?

my advice is to not focus on a 4k, but instead just having fun. try a meme build without cheap tactics; if you win, that's awesome, if not, you were running a meme build.
Winning is fun. There is no point to playing a game you are intended to lose.
-
Behavior won't even warn people.
-
No, but being OP or not doesn't seem a requirement for mass nerfs. Just being too good at one thing, or too annoying is enough.
-
Didn't need to be nerfed at all.
-
Until you get a massive map and each of your scourge hooks spawns in the four corners of it.

This is actually very bad advice.
Let's say you have 4 boon totems in a perfect square, each 32m away from the other (which I think is a fair average distance between them). It will take a 4.6m/s killer 7 seconds to walk between boons at that rate.
Let's also assume that the killer knows exactly where each one is, and has a direct route to each one (very best case scenario for the killer).
Let's also say the killer spends 2-3 seconds? I'll say 3 seconds snuffing out a totem, just because the snuff prompts are hard to get sometimes.
Finally, we'll assume the killer starts at a boon and ignore their initial travel time to it.
---
Okay, so the killer snuffs out the first boon in 3 seconds. Survivors just got up to 12 seconds of generator repair time for free because of this activity because there's four survivors to one killer.
The killer then walks to the next boon, which takes 7 seconds, and spends another 3 seconds snuffing out the new boon, totaling 10 seconds to snuff out the second one. But now survivors just got up to 40 seconds of free generator repair time depending on what they're doing from that second boon alone, or up to 30 seconds of gen time and basically the re-establishment of the first boon totem if they were next to it already.
The killer then walks to snuff the third boon, which takes 10 seconds, which gives survivors another 40 potential seconds of free gen time or 30 + the re-establishment of a new boon.
This pattern will keep repeating indefinitely, and will never end.
---
Notice that the killer gains absolutely nothing from snuffing the boons, and basically loses half a generator worth of time for free every time he snuffs one out.
This is a losing battle, killers cannot win against this.
There is no end to this pattern, there is no end to the bones, and there is no reward to doing the bones.
The only thing you can really do is ignore boons, tunnel people to hell so that they can't use them even when they're active, and only ever even considering snuffing out a totem if it's literally right beside you randomly.
---
And then it gets about 1000x worse on indoor maps where boon totems affect more of the overall map and are harder to find.
It's incredibly stupid and overpowered.
It's trolling, not advice.

I think it's not dead hard so it may as well not exist. There is no point to run any exhaustion perk besides dead hard especially after the "fix" that now bugged the perk to eat various killer powers.

Will edit this into the main thread now!
Thank you to @MandyTalk for point it out, BHVR have made a statement on this in a Eurogamer article.
https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2021-11-11-dead-by-daylight-streamers-are-being-ddos-attacked
Here is said statement:
This is pretty empty. "We care about you guys really. We're monitoring things. Let us know if something happens." No, that's legit not good enough if people are being SWATTED and could possibly DIE. Hell at that point, shut the game servers down until you figure out the issue.
-
Imagine being forced to buy a VPN to play a game due to the devs being so incompetent they cause swatting to happen. I think "Just play something else." is a better suggestion.
-
Dead hard buff also uniquely screws them more than any other killer.
-
Considering waiting until next chapter before even bothering to learn her since she's just gonna get gutted.
-
It's pretty clear some people just want every killer to be an easy 4 man escape.
-
By being high tier or tunneling out the boon user.

Wraith is braindead easy to play, so in that regard I'm a bit glad they did something about him. But he was never 'a wee bit op'.
I don't get the idea of "If a character is easy to play they should be bad." that's just god awful design.
-
@Labrac said:
After gutting Slinger and nerfing Wraith for being "a wee bit OP" I don't expect anything.
I mean the dev who was in charge of that patch and many of its changes and originally stated Wraith was overperforming no longer works with the company, so, there's that. Don't know how that bodes for future patches.
-
Just DC?
-
Pretty unlikely since the SAW people are probably closer to behavior than any other licensing partner. They showed up on the 5th anniversary stream, have allowed a tome based on Amanda and Tapp, allowed the pig mask for meg, spiral charm etc. Don't feel like that relationship is going upside down anytime soon, really.
-
It means the killer is running two mediocre perks.
-
Yeah after COH, the DH "fix" being a massive nerf to twins due to how it screws Victor over, and this new boon, I genuinely feel Twins are in the bottom 10 now when they were in the top 10 all of 6 months ago. But people just cheer about it because "haha we don't like twins. Who cares about the people who did like them?"
-
I'm not sure why I should even bother learning this killer, who has a high skill ceiling, when behavior does not give me faith they won't gut the killer in two months. Pinhead was a high skill ceiling killer and look where we are in two short months. Constant undeserving nerfs makes me afraid to devote my time to high skillcap killers. At least when a low skillcap killer gets gutted, I don't lose tons upon tons of hours I spent learning them. And they seem to be lightning fast with those killer nerfs now, so I can't even think "Well, I'll get a good half year with them." Again, Pinhead. 2 months.
-
I don't get why they shot themselves in the foot so bad to get this character in and then gutted him in record time. They made a deal with the devil to get him in. Saddled up with NFT's which puts them at risk of valves ire and was probably the most negative reception the community has ever had toward the devs in the games 5 year history. They went through all that just to get this guy in because they wanted him so bad, and then in 2 months they have gutted him to the realm of Billy and Slinger. The old "If we make this killer garbage, no one will play them, so survivors won't complain anymore." strategy the devs love. And it's not like the contract and responsibilities of behavior vanish now. They're now stuck with the NFT's and whatever else they signed onto for probably at least 2 years, all for a killer they kneecapped in two months.
-
Use the time to farm points. If you're playing a killer with a spammable power (Fred and Trapper are good candidates) just keep doing that until time runs out. Or go around the map and break every dropped pallet/breakable wall you didn't break. Utilize it to farm up more points.
-
So the one issue I have taken with this killers lore is that she's from Chile, and my google-fu tells me Crows do not exist in South America. Or at the very least are not native or wild there. I don't live there so I can't confirm but that seems like an odd oversight.

I love the person I got in an argument on reddit deleted all their posts. They said it was a bug and theyll come back.
Like I said it sounds much more like legal reasons. If it were a bug like lines overlapping they would just say so.
They said that because that was the official statement by the devs. The devs lied (and yes, it was a lie. They knew it wasn't audio issues) stating it was "audio issues" when the chapter dropped. Then just kept refusing to answer it. Unless their contract specifically forbids them from discussing it or the rights holders are actively suing them, I see no reason to be so non-transparent about it.

The survivor mains have majority control of the senate, but the killer mains believe a trade war with queue times might restore some balance. Trouble is brewing as Behavior has a production line of NFTs ready to unleash upon the galaxy.
Thank you for salvaging this thread.

As others have said, it was probably a copyright thing.
Their plan seems to be nerfing him to the ground so less people play him.
Really weird they destroyed trust with everyone by making a "deal with the devil" to get Pinhead, which required they sign on for NFT's, and then right after they get him in the game they kill him and make him worthless. What was the point of going through all that for the character if they were going to do the standard Behavior "Let's try to dumpster the killer so no one plays them." strategy?
-
Twins is C tier with the DH buff and COH. It's not 4 months ago.
-
They never were and they refused to tell us for no reason. Issues were legal but behavior seems to dislike transparency.
-
No one is surprised they're nerfing killers again. It's utterly undeserved and shows the devs are very amateurish at development IMO. You don't make giant assumptions the killer is "OP" because people are having a hard time figuring him out in the first month.
-
It doesn't negatively impact survivor players so, I doubt they care much. The fact people are still trying to defend the buff is amazing to me.
-
Because he's a unique killer that has existed all of 2 months and it takes time for people to learn how to face a killer. Stats from the first two months are worthless but I'm not shocked behavior is interpreting statistics at face value. They love statistics but refuse to hire anyone who has actually earned a degree in statistics.
-
Troll posts like this should be bannable, honestly.

You are not entitled to a 4k. Have some empathy, you really think all survivors should die every single match? 2k standard makes it more fair for both sides.
If I am better than the survivors they should lose. Every single game not named DBD works that way.
-
Very smart to nerf a character with barely 2 months of data on them! I'm sure the inflated kill rate had nothing to do with the uniqueness of the killer and people needing to learn how to face them.
-
Just stop playing killer. Only way they'll learn.
-
You're shocked there were further nerfs to killer?
-
Game is unplayable with penalty off.

See I agree. And I know people want to take my killer card from me for this opinion. But killer is easier than solo q. I get to rank 1 killer long before I do survivor.
So I understand, some games you get your ass handed to you, but damn, you win much more than you lose.
Not always the case as a solo q gamer.
You get to grade 1 easier because it's easier to rank up as killer due to the emblem system for killer being easier than survivors.
-
This will further show how busted they are since they stack on the totem, so you can have 4 boon effects. People think they're OP with just circle being primarily used. In the future they get better by design, really.
-
Then don't expect people to play it anymore.
-
Give it half a year or so.
-
Never had an issue with the killer.
-
I had two back to back yesterday. I'm sure his rarity has more to do with the difficulty of playing him, and not some weird boycott due to NFTs. I still see him more than Twins, Hag, Trickster, and even buffed Plague.

You'd see every survivor run DS if it worked twice.
You'd also see a hell of a lot more slugging and if it got bad enough.
-
Fix that mysteriously buffs Unbreakable and DS. "Buffs" to hexes no one uses and still won't use even with the buffs. And another killer that is king at 1v1 but can't do anything in the 4v1. Perks may be decent though. I personally think the past 4 chapters have all had fairly good to actual meta (boon) perks in them.

I have been playing this game for a few days and have for the most part enjoyed it. I've been playing survivor with friends and with the help of some friendly randos, have been able to experience some thrilling moments. All this changes when I play killer. Every game I seem to be paired with experienced survivors with all four perks equipped plus items to spare. Their experience alone seems to tip the balance of the game but add their perks and advantages and it seems hopeless for a new killer like me trying to gain experience.
Survivors at least get the benefit of relying on more experienced players, and can be carried to some extent, but killers have no such luxury. I wish there was a game mode that limited perks so as to keep the advantages to a minimum. I feel it would be a great way to reinforce fundamental game play mechanics without inundating players with too much information.
My honest opinion is the devs do not want players to main killer. They want you to main survivor and then maybe once every 5 to 10 games you'll play a killer game to do a challenge in the archive or to clear out your daily rituals which are oddly killer weighted. If people main killer that's an issue for queues due to the 4v1 nature. So it would be better for them if people just were survivor mains and only touched killer for a now and then challenge. I think the balance clearly reflects this as has numerous interviews with the devs.
-
I'd say I get face camped all of once per 100 games on average. Quite the epidemic. I get tbagged virtually every game as killer though.
