How would buffing it make it dead ?
TotH is dead. Countering it is just adding another foot to the depth of its grave.

So, Legion is mostly safe, right? Their addons are kinda trash.

At best it could be like Saints Row compared to GTA. That it could do well and get sequels. But it's never going to surpass DBD.
I think this is a fair comparison.

Have you seen the Dollmaker gameplay? Tell me again that tht's not a hide-and-seek simulator, except the one hiding can suddenly be like 2 kilometers away when they're found.
I meant with how Killers in DBD have to hunt down Survivors that refuse to do gens, just waiting for each other to die to get a hatch escape.
Dollmakers teleport was on a minute cooldown. He can't keep teleporting away. He HAS to play aggressively with his dolls in order to pad out him time to build up another teleport. While he's running, the Teens can also take out any dolls they come across that aren't active in order to force him out of hiding to reset his doll placements. With map knowledge, Teens will probably have a pretty good idea of his primary and secondary hiding spots as well.
In that regard, yes, it's a role reversal of how DBD normally turns out, but in the very least, it's 4 people hunting one big dude that can't blend in with a bush and wait for a hatch.
-
I don't think it will outright beat DBD down, but I think it will address some of the issues some players have with DBD and offer an alternative that shines on its own merits.
I'm hoping it will become healthy competition to DBD.
Also, for all the people that keep saying "the Teens can hurt the Monster and will be a bully simulator", the Teens have to basically COMPLETE AN ENTIRE GEN just to essentially drop a single pallet. They can't constantly attack the monster, they have to build up the ability to attack. If they haven't, they have to run. Also, making the Monster itself the Teens objective forces interactions, instead of turning the game into a hide-and-seek simulator. On top of all of that, the Monsters come with ways to mitigate incoming damage. The game is DESIGNED around those interactions. Each Monster has multiple abilities that help them either play defensively or aggressively.
I'm not saying the game will be perfect or there won't be issues. All games have issues. However, I think what we've seen so far looks pretty good, and I will certainly be giving the game the ol' college try.

S tier
As in "on the same level as Spirit and Nurse"?
As in Cenobite can perform better than Blight universally?
As in he is in the top 3 STRONGEST Killers in the game?

Well, Legion actually is very popular and has a decent kill rate, according to the most recent statistics we've been allowed to see.
Therefore, they must need no changes!

I like seeing RPD offerings. Let's me Alt+F4 in the load screen without wondering what could have been.

As I've stated before, a xenomorph in DBD would have to be a heavily nerfed version compared to other games or the movies. The old AvP games were probably the peak of letting players go around as a xenomorph, though more modern games still do a good job. The stages were MOSTLY specifically crafted to allow them to operate at their full range. Wall crawling, large spaces for lunges, face munching, acid blood that did something, etc.
Most Killers in DBD don't get representation outside of this game the way xenomorphs do. Nemesis does, but look at how he turned out. Compared to his counterparts, he's the most shallow and uninspired version. I'd personally rather have aliens stick to their own games where they can truly shine and show players what they can do, rather than plop them in a game where only one or two aspects of them are implemented in a questionable state.

hmm, more you start as hugger and after X infections you transform to the xenomorph... some like this
That would cause a chestburster, which is a death sentence.
I don't think they'd become a xenomorph. Instead, having a face hugger attached would be a Mori.

Feels like the same as before, but more drastic. Instead of a few potatoes and a few sweat lords, it's all mega-tatoes or mega-sweaters. Not getting anything in between. Had one match where two Survivors could barely run in a straight line correctly and were running into walls while the other two were running perfect infinites at the house of pain.

With the Hellraiser chapter about to release, I'm bumping this for anyone still out of the loop to who or what HR is.

Just curious, but I have seen two posts talking about splitting up the player base.
This game now rocks traffic that is up there with MANY games that already have casual, ranked, multiple game modes, etc. How is this ONE game such a special snow-flake that splitting up the players would be so detrimental when it doesn't hurt them at all?
Statistically, it would still be a 1/4 split. Each mode would likely have 20% Killers and 80% Survivors. It would be VERY unlikely that ALL Killers or ALL Survivors would part into the different modes and create an imbalance.
When the game was smaller, I could see that argument having some merit to it, but it seems like no matter how big the game gets now, that reason will always be brought up. I don't get that. I also don't think this game is so particularly special that it can't support two modes based on whether or not people want to be competitive.
Now, as far as people asking what a Casual mode would entail and not coming up with much, I entirely agree on that point. It would likely have to not affect rank, not reward BP the same as ranked, and completely throw matchmaking out the window for the most part. However, for the most part, the difference between a Casual and Ranked mode would likely be pretty minimal.
-
It kinda checks out.
Most of the Killers they ranked highly are Killers that punish basic mistakes and lack of general game knowledge. As they learns more about the game, their opinions will likely change quite a bit.
I don't see Bubba as a big deal, and will go out of my way to tease Bubba during a match. My friends, who are more about using stealth and keys while rarely looping, consider him a high threat. I just dance around him like a maniac with a deathwish.
-
Doctor.
I only ever face Doctors with two Iris, and I feel like I'm a rocket surgeon with how much I'm mitigating his abilities, his passives, his timing, etc. I actually like facing him because it's a lot of interaction, but I feel like it's a juggling act.

Was watching this video he can teleport like nurse using his ability plus pull in chains to survivors.
His chains slow, they do not pull. You can stand completely still when chained and nothing will happen. They can be broken by anything hitting them, including the Killer himself. On indoor maps, this makes the chains affectively useless, as any corner or door frame will break them instantly. Each chain takes 1 second to break, and hit you one after another with a slight delay.
His teleport only works when a Survivor tries to solve the Lament Configuration. As such, a survivor can run around with the box, which prevents Chain Hunt from affecting the other Survivors, and basically operate as usual, save for random chains slowing them down every now and again. These random chains broadcast where they will come from, allowing the Survivor to move and break the chain or avoid them entirely.
To be fair, Chain Hunt is his strongest power, but it can also be avoided by Survivors just doing the puzzle or having someone hold the puzzle and run with it. If they ignore the puzzle, it's a strong slowdown mechanic.
He's not powerful. In fact, he may be one of the weakest Killers in the game. A few very slight buffs, however, could fix this, and hopefully it will happen.
-
@CornHub said:
I thought in the movies he comes when you solve the box & then they take you to hell, but also how is that even fair in lore if you even touch the box your screwed. What's the point of solving it, if they come either way?
Once the box is opened, the Cenobites tend to be VERY protective of you fiddling with it on account of it being able to also send them back. If you are their target and you close it, you escape.

After reading this again I think you should do weekly series of summarizing different horror franchises.
I'm a big fan of Hellraiser. Not the biggest, but big enough to confidently make a summary like this. I could not make such a claim about any other horror franchise, and it would affect the overall quality of the summary.

You'd have to be 52 years old to have been legally allowed to watch this film when it was released. My parents are 54, are they the target genre for this killer lol? Im 31 and haven't seen or heard about pinhead for 20+ years. He's very recognisable though
I'm 36 and got into the movies as I made my way through horror franchises. Hellraiser landed far better with me than any other, and this comes after a lifetime of mostly being F13 fan. Once I saw the first one, I dived head first into the movies, then the surrounding lore and extended lore material. I still have a Hellraiser comic made by Mike Mignola.
Point being, it doesn't matter when someone gets into it, just how much.

I hope they add Chatterer for a skin!
I agree, and said in another thread that, insofar as gameplay, he makes the most sense. Chatterer is the most physical of the cenobites, so he would be the most likely to do standard attacks.

Act now and get Buttmonger Dongletron as your new champion.

I think it would be best if boon Totems need to be cleansed to be activated, and give a bonus on a timer. It would require the least effort on the devs, survivors would need to hunt them down and cleanse them for the bonus, and the killer can choose to protect them.

This is the best summary of a movie I've heard about. You're on par with Olaf or Ant-Man's friend XD
I'm hyped for the next Chapter, assuming everyone's theories and leaks are right. I hope the devs stay closer to the pain and agony section rather than kinky masochists though- I came for the Spirit but stayed for the Hag.
Ya, though I'd be a bit worried if that meant more Laceration meters.

They might be rushing Nailface because of Hellraisers history with legal issues. This might be the only time they can do something with it before it goes back into legal limbo. Something ALWAYS seems to happen with Hellraiser.

You pretty much nailed it. Although I will say Hellraiser: Inferno was a bit of a banger. And the newest one was actually written as a Hellraiser film and turned out decently.
First off:
You pretty much nailed it.
As for Inferno, and honestly most of the subpar other films, I have an odd warmness for them. My head canon is that Hellraiser became a sort of Silent Hill, but instead of bringing people to a place where they are judged to be damned, they go and actively haunt the damned. So Pinhead becomes like Pyramid Head.
Also, the last film wasn't HORRIBLE, like Revelations was, but it wasn't great. It tried to turn the franchise into a gross-out horror genre and I wasn't digging that. The idea that they have a working relationship with angels and heaven was neat, though. Also, the Auditor was pretty cool.

Same. It's my favorite horror franchise, and to this day, colors my outlook on horror as a genre. Half my user images on sites that allow for custom ones are either Mike Mignola art or Hellraiser art.

Soul Guard is fine. It has a very nasty combo, but it's very reliant on circumstances to line up towards the end of the game to get full use out of it. That doesn't happen a lot, though, so it's never really that much of an issue. If a Killer seemed to give you issues for it, the Killer was probably already in a mood to begin with.
-
In preparation for the new chapter, I'm watching Freddy Got Fingered.
No spoilers, please.
-
It's a Paragraph.
It's not getting a map, nor a Survivor.
The mid-Chapter Survivor isn't going to be Hellraiser related either.
The three most iconic locations from the movies are the family home in the original, the asylum from the second movie, or the Labyrinth from the second movie. The Labyrinth is the most visually striking of the three, and definitely sticks out.

I know nobody is taking a majority of the post seriously because of all the silliness of the post and the person who posted it but there's some truth to it if you look really deep down, survivors are all the same and if you've played one you've played them all, we get new killers all the time but survivors just get a few perks, no new interactables or objectives, not even any new items. Game would be better with more items and something else to do as survivor
we get new killers all the time but survivors just get a few perks
MANY people have complained in the past that if Survivors had unique abilities, it would create a meta where they would feel dissuaded from playing their favorite Survivor
no new interactables or objectives
We've had a scant few, but you're mostly right.
not even any new items
New items were found in the game code, but never added. My guess is the devs weren't sure how to implement them. That said, we DID get Flashbangs, though they are just reskinned firecrackers. I agree that more variety would be better.
Game would be better with more items and something else to do as survivor
The "Something else to do" bit is another hotly argued topic. People have brought up breaking up the monotony of doing generators, but adding side objectives seems to be maligned by the playerbase. As it stands, people complain about doing bones to shut down Hex perks. People have brought up having to get fuel for the gens, only for everyone to hate on the idea. Alternate objectives always seem to get a lot of hate. The playerbase, despite complaining that they want more to do as Survivor, also hates the idea of doing more as Survivor. Personally, I would LOVE having to collect items and such in order to progress the match. A vocal lot, however, don't.

The only issue is that, supposedly, this is due to delay, but I swear I have no issue always forcing the killer into a shoulder tap. Like I literally see them starting the animation and I stop what I'm doing while I CLEARLY see they are grabing me.
The issue if you ask me is that the grab has like a .5s window where it doesn't do anything. If the survivor stops in those .5s the grab is cancelled.
I've only ever done it accidentally, so my personal experience with it isn't enough to properly theorize anything.
