I am by no means a killer main, but I do play both roles pretty evenly. The reason why I play killer is because I find it so fun and whenever I want a change of pace from survivor. I tend to pick the community's "weak" killers and have a blast with them. Unlike the majority, I play killer on my own terms on how I want to have fun. I try to make it as fair as possible, but there have been a couple of times where the survivors I face are extremely toxic, so I don't show any mercy on them. I take playing killer like playing solo survivor. You win some and you lose some and that ideal has kept me playing the game daily.
-
I love the beginning of every match of trying to guess who the killer is. Lately with every new killer or reworked killer getting their custom theme, while cool, kills the element of surprise of who the killer is as a survivor for me. It's something I look forward to in every match.
-
I'm cool playing injured all match. However, if I really do wanted to get healed l run bond + Leader. There have been times where my team mates are signaling me to get healed on a gen I'm working on and ignore them because I'd rather finish the generator first and then get healed.
-
I prefer we'll make it. I usually pair it up with empathy or aftercare and the 100% speed bonus makes such a difference when the killer is slugging everyone. Yes you have to get one unhook for it to work, but I usually get them anyways. Having it be active for 1 minute gives you enough time and then some to heal people back to 100% even if they're slugged.
Also comes in handy during the end game where people are trying to go rescue the hooked person and get injured. I'll heal them back to 100% to give them another chance to go for the unhook.

I've run into a PC Billy killer on PS4 last week. His name was made up of nothing but dots and next to his name he had a globe. Let me tell you, it was so obvious he was playing on PC because I've NEVER seen a Billy turn so fast before with such precision lol. He killed everyone pretty fast and ended up giving me the hatch since I was the only survivor that managed to loop him lol. He also had the first legacy outfit.
-
It's been the same for me. I got tier 70 in the first one before the last level (4) released. I've been tier 70 for a few days now and finished level 3 of the second tome so just in line like the first tome for me.
-
The clown and Trapper. I always do very well with both. IMO all Clown needs is faster reload time and remove the slight decrease in speed when throwing a bottle. Trapper boy is fine with me for the most part at the moment. Being able to reset traps without having to pick them up + his traps not being able to be sabotaged is a first good step. I'd like to maybe suggest he starts off with the brown bag add on as base instead of 1.
-
I agree. It should not have a cool down at all.

Solo survivor here.
Every time it's almost the late game where there's only like one gen left and two of us. I'll distract the killer and start getting chased buying time for the other survivor to repair the last gen. I'll get downed and watch the other survivor either self care in some random corner or just urban evade around instead of repairing the last gen. It's the absolute worst. Sometimes people will be self caring in front of the last generator instead of finishing it when they have adrenaline!
Another one: i repair gens, heal team mates, save them from hooks, and I'll die on my first hook even if I have kindred on...
-
I love to use Bond, Leader, DS, and Dead Hard. Leader is so underrated IMO. new kindred is great too so sometimes I'll swap out leader or bond over it.
-
If you play solo, it's a mixed bag right now. You can get OK teammates and then you can get urban evaders all match who won't do gens.
-
I hated this challenge so much as a survivor. I'm glad I finished it. Hate using keys.
-
Tier 54.
-
It's still there.
-
I'd rather use Bond + Leader.
-
Once you know someone has it, just get close and let them waste it. Then you'll get the hit easily. If they use it to get through a pallet, then get rid of the pallet. The more you get rid of, the less places survivors have of using.
-
This rank reset has been absolutely devastating. I'm a red rank survivor that got sent back to rank 10. The killers I am getting are rank 18-20's that barely have any perks. I can easily tell and I bet they're not having a great time. They'll camp the first hook because they don't know better and I don't blame them when this MM is literally putting them against red ranks in disguise. Solo survivor on PS4.

Yeah. And I think that's fair.
I'm not swapping Decisive, Inner Strength, Spine Chill or Head On just because there's no way to tell if I killer is running No ED in advance and so I have to cleanse all five totems with little reward just to be sure... which usually means the game doesn't make it to endgame because the amount of time wasted focusing all the totems sandbags my team so No ED wouldn't even come into play
I get it. However, even if the killer doesn't have it, you're still being rewarded with points in boldness (I think it's boldness) and 1k BP per totem. Plus, inner strength is great to have with small game too since you'll know where totems are at to go and cleanse when you use inner strength once.
See, let's say the killer doesn't have NOED at all. Even if small game alerts you once throughout the entire match, you would have gotten use out of it. On the flip side, if the killer has NOED, the killer plays with 3 perks for the entire match hoping that NOED activates for them during the end game. It can be completely negated for them and not have a single use whatsoever.

Hag and Trapper are super off meta.
Freddies usually don't run dream pallets in my experience (they usually have the stupid paintbrush tho). I have all the perks I want and 900k bloodpoints saved up.
All I'm getting from your replies is that you don't want to sacrifice one of your meta perks to get rid of a killer perk that can be rendered useless during the match. Or go out of your way to go totem hunting when matches don't even last super long anymore.

Totems=Healing so going a little out of my way throughout the match to find 2 or 3 in the spots i have memorized pays off.
Wasting a perk slot to run around the map just to find the hard totem spots I don't know in case the killer is running No ED. That's not worth it.
Definitely not worth it if the killer is Hag, Trapper, Freddy with dream pallets, and the 1k BP per every totem you cleansed is NOT worth it.
-
Imagine calling small game a borderline useless perk when complaining about NOED. Yeah, we're done here. Next.

Sorry. You're right I need to spend $5 and level up Detective Tapp to level 35. Then level up my other survivors to get Detective's Hunch so I can run an off meta perk. All to counter a free perk that every killer has access to and is meta.
Small game doesn't cut it in the scenarios I'm talking about. If I'm within 12m of the totem, I already know where it is so that perk's useless
It's been on the shrine store several times. Small Game is also free for everyone and gets the job done. Clearly, NOED bothers you so much, so equip small game and go totem hunting? It's not like you have to worry about your team mates not doing gens because ruin no longer slows down the game for the killer in the early game. Small Game will also let you memorize where those tricky well hidden totems are so you won't have to use it anymore once you know of their location.
I play solo survivor and the first thing I do is go totem hunting. Guess what? Gens are still getting done and I don't waste much time anyway since cleansing a totem doesn't take anything. Also, I could find another killer hex along the way and get rid of it.
There's counter play to it. You just don't want to sacrifice a little bit of time or a perk to get rid of it.
-
If you hate it so much, bring Small Game or use the buffed version of Detective's Hunch. There IS counter play, it's just survivors not wanting to get rid of their normal meta perks.
-
It truly was a great dev stream. Very informative and it shows that the dev know about the issues, explained the 'auto aim' situation and provided a lot of great information on how the game works. I can't find a reason why anyone would have disliked it. Peanits did seem a bit nervous, but it was his first one. You did a great job dude!
-
I must lessen the fog!
-
I love playing killer. Instant lobbies. I played against some twitch streamer tonight and I'm assuming his SWF group. They had head on builds, flashlights and tool boxes. They managed to work together to head on me twice during chases. Little do they know I trapped the middle building in the swamp map as Trapper and had infectious fright. Match was over once one of them landed on there. The basement was there too. They could not recover and I slugged the last one who was waiting by the hatch and closed it. Left her slugged and watched as the end game collapse ended her. <3
-
I look forward to the developer update streams every time there's one. I love watching them and like that there's familiar faces, returning faces, and new faces! I'm looking forward to the one happening this Thursday!
-
No way lol. That's way too strong, IMO. I like it the way it is right now. There's a risk involved (getting hooked) for what gives you the best information in the game if you heal or rescue someone.
-
It doesn't bother me. Sometimes I'll let them DS me to get rid of it ASAP.
-
NOED makes the end game so much fun. I love it as a survivor.
-
Trapper boy. I love trapping survivors and denying them the god loops or making them rethink of where they're looping me in fear of traps!

I was trying to do the rancor rampage challenge and twice I downed the obsession just to have them dc. Shame on me for trying to do a challenge...
You can equip a green mori and try to get it that way. You don't need to wait until all the gens are finished to use rancor.
-
You kinda called yourself out, which is good. Remember not to take things too seriously in this game! Just move along to the next match!
-
I kinda wish there was a way I could tell my team mates the killer has rancor. As it stands now as a solo survivor, I am pretty much screwed because there's no way my team mates know the killer has it lol.
-
Whenever I play killer (Rank 1) I usually face nothing but red rank survivors, which is great. On the other hand, whenever I play survivor (also rank 1) I never face off against red rank killers the majority of the time. It's really screwed up.
-
I prefer surge with surveillance.
-
I think the speed is fine for the most part. The issue for me are map size where I am not fast enough to go on opposite end of the maps to defend gens. I also feel like kicking a generator without pop goes the weasel doesn't regress the gen enough to make a difference. For me, I NEED PGTW to properly play effectively mid to end game. Otherwise kicking a generator is worthless since it will not regress enough to make a difference IMO.
While it's a bit discouraging having two generators pop early game, for me the real match begins when there's 3 or 2 gens left. That's where I feel I'm the strongest as killer and where survivors have to really apply pressure to getting the gens finished especially if they manage to 3 gen themselves. The ruin change did not affect my overall killer performance since I hardly used it previously and my main killer is Trapper. I perform fine for the most part in red ranks (Rank 1 killer).
As a solo survivor, it's pretty screwed up right now because I am a rank 1 survivor and the killers I usually face are green ranks (Rank 10+) which is very unfair. The majority of those matches tend to end very quickly with the killer not getting any hooks sometimes. However, playing against a proper red rank killer changes the speed of the match. Great killers will pressure survivors off gens, slug, and constantly hook people stalling the game. I feel that in those situations (especially mid to late game), if gen speeds were to increase, it would make matches very difficult to win if you play solo survivor.
-
I don't bother with it anymore. The extra BP is nice, but I'd rather use something else. I will only use it during double BP events.
-
Yep. That's the life of us solo survivors where we have to be cautious of the killer and our team mates too. Those types of teams are the worst.
-
I play both roles and even I don't bring tool boxes into matches anymore. I never did that much either previously cuz killers would just lobby dodge. There's no need. Only way I will use them is if I loot them from a chest.
As killer, I haven't lobby dodged once. If I see a squad full of tool boxes I'll just bring Franklin's.
-
On PS4, why are there frame rate drops whenever you enter bloodlust?
-
Whenever I am shirtless David, the same thing happens to me. Or any male survivor. For some reason killers will drop the chase on female survivors and focus on the male one. That's my experience the majority of the time.
-
I used a map with detective's hunch and got it easily.
-
Team mates for sure. I got 1 hooked tonight as all 3 survivors just stood there crouching not doing anything for the entire duration of my hook phase. I had saved two of them and healed them to 100% too. I died. Decided to spectate and watch them save each other every single time. They were purple ranks too.
-
No. How about we buff Surge instead?
-
No. I'm comfortable remaining injured for the entire duration of the trial. If I was really desperate, I'd pick inner strength over it. I do run bond with leader because I feel that it's very useful to find team mates and give them a boost for them to heal me.
-
My main killer is Trapper so it'd make sense to use it to set up traps, but no thanks. After the timer ends, you're left with 3 perks. I'd rather play with 4.

Or the Developers can start valuing killer's experiences and make it so the gens don't fly after one good survivor loops you well once. I feel like they consistently ignore and downplay the killer experience. They need to remember that EVERY game has at least 1 player killer, and if they drive killer players away, then the game will die.
I expect the first two gens to pop. I normally defend 3 generators that are close by. Just because you lose the first two doesn't mean the game is over. Now that survivors don't worry about ruin, they usually 3 gen themselves. When that happens, it's practically almost game over. The perks I'm using are STBFL, Surge, Pop, and Surveillance. It has worked quite well for me.
-
I have my own terms of how I play killer and follow them very closely. For me, it doesn't matter if I win or lose, or if I get a toxic SWF. It's about staying true to my terms on how I rate a match. I don't expect to win every game and I'm fine with everyone escaping as long as I pressured them. I play 'low' tier killers like Trapper and Clown and I'm doing fine in red ranks. I am currently rank 1 for killer and sometimes I win, sometimes I lose. I'm OK with it. It's just like when I play survivor (solo). It's the luck of the draw and you won't know what you get. Just gotta deal with the hand you're dealt!
