  • Carmina (The Artist). The Entity cultists really screwed her over from the very beginning, and yet she resisted the Entity's pull even without even knowing it. She is a very strong and defiant character who got brutalized for standing her ground. She deserves justice and I'd really want to help her out because she has always been the one dragging herself out from the dark places.

However, she is probably also the most challenging Killers to rehabilitate because if she is given her sanity back, it might not be for long after she realizes that 1) she has been mutilated and can no longer paint, write poems or even speak, 2) she killed her friends in her last moments. This is mind-shattering.

However, if her inky powers will remain, it might motivate her to keep going — either to learn the secrets behind the realm and Fog (after all, she is a different being now, she might even find it beautiful) or to find a way back to our world, so she could be the vigilante protector of her homeplace or go after the Black Vale (if she feels vengeful). Or, maybe, help her find the alternative realm where she and Mathias are both alive and well, to give her some peace and let her know that somewhere, someplace, she has her little brother and she is happy. Maybe she'd even want to stay there, as their silent protector making sure this Carmina will never have to suffer like she did.

  • IMHO, Sable isn't a horror game character, rather an incredibly bland wannabe horror game character. Her only selling point is pretty face and revealing outfits, which Behavior exploits like there is no tomorrow — so any attempts to show her as a deep character or that people main her and buy her outfits because they like her personality are kinda frustrating because, despite having voice lines, Sable has no personality.

If Sable is supposed to be a serious character, genuinely interested in things dark, mystical, and scary to the point it pushed other people away, her designs don't reflect it — I will rather believe she was known as that "hot goth chick" in her hometown rather than a "that creepy goth girl". Her behavior comes off as demonstrative and her entire character feels off-putting (no, Sable, people don't avoid you because of how you dress or what kind of movies you like, they avoid you because you're obnoxious about it and probably try to make everything about yourself).

Even her lines at the campfire are cringe-inducing. It's some Marvel levels of "he is right behind me, isn't he" writing, where the character has to be witty and have a sassy remark regardless of the situation.

If Sable is supposed to be corny and cringe, pretending to like horror stuff until she is thrown into real horror — once again, her perks don't show that. Her perks imply she has actual connection to darkness and her fascination is genuine, and that she probably shares Haddie's abilities, but all we get from her bio is that she liked horror movies, hanged out around cemetries and liked spooky stories, and gory movies — oh, and hated her parents having fun because ohmagad screw those preppy adults. That makes her sound like one of those "I'm not like other girls" gals who would wear corsets and make sexy photos with fake blood and vampire teeth, but would vomit and/or faint if they're assigned to dissect a dead frog in class.

What I mean to say by that, Sable's design is very lazy and makes no sense, but since she is hot, it doesn't matter anyways — she already brough Behavior more cash than more detailed and deeply written survivors who don't look as good in mini skirts and bikini tops.

EDIT. Oh, and one more thing. I hate Behavior trying to make the "Sable and Mikaela are BFFs" happen because not only they kinda broke their own lore with the timeline, but also because of this line showing Sable's thoughts on Mikaela's interest in spooky stuff:

She [Mikaela] flirted with the dark side, but she didn’t live it. Not like Sable. The dark side made sense to Sable, and she revelled in it.

Just a reminder, Mikaela grew to love horror stories and mystical things after her father died when she was sixteen leaving her depressed and hurting. She wasn't "flirting with the dark side", she found an outlet and it helped her cope. But oh no, our macabre queen Sable here knows true pain and darkness because her mom got mad at her once when she dyed her hair purple. Yeah, this girl is supposed to be Mikaela's best friend from third grade.

  • If you're saying people should not BM and it's a terrible thing to gloat at the exit gates I 100% agree. It's childish. It shouldn't happen. I have stated multiple times that BHVR should, in my opinion, issue a statement regarding good sportsmanship and how to follow good sportsmanship and teabagging, while it is viewed by many as harmless, does not change the fact that many people view it as the digital equivalent of a middle finger and that should be respected. I think a significant chunk of the us vs them discourse would disappear (not a majority but a significant chunk) if survivors stopped teabagging as a taunt.

The thing is, people are going to BM if they can because sportstmanship is kinda dead when it comes to multiplayer games. No amount of reminders and guidelines will suffice (Behavior has enough problems with their Fog Whisperers). The only working way to reduce BM is to incorporate it gameplay-wise by either limiting player's options to do so or to provide a way not to interact with sore winners. IMHO, removing endgame chat entirely and reducing the ECG timer would help. After all, The Journey is considered one of the most wholesome games about friendship and helping each other — but only because the developers have removed every option for players to BM and grief their partner during beta testing (when they realized that people spent more time pushing their partner down the cliff or bodyblocking them rather than working together). I think, DbD would have benefitted immensely from limited interactions.

Teabagging and wasting time at the Killer's exit gate grates on me. Unfortunately, a lot of people do it and now we also have humping on the Killer side which I also find annoying and grating. However, the people doing it are specifically trying to annoy you so I just ignore them now if I see it on the Killer side. If I see a survivor doing it while playing Survivor games and the Killer did not camp or tunnel I make sure to tell the Killer gg, gl next match or something similar.

As I don't camp or tunnel when I play I don't experience that much BM to be honest if I win or if I lose. It does happen still but not frequently. I see it a lot more in games where the Killer is tunnelling and camping. The survivors do stick around at the gates so I come over and take a few hits for BP if I'm down anyway but really I just do it to save time (another option is breaking walls). I also almost never get hateful messages in chat. I'm not saying any of these behaviours (gloating and messages in chat) is justified (it's not) but people that have had a miserable experience are more likely to vent their frustration and, unfortunately, that happens more frequently online than it would in real life.

Well, people sometimes have a very wide definition of camping and tunneling. If they start swarming the hook even before the Killer leaves the area, is Killer a camper for smacking them and capitalizing on the fact that survivors refuse to leave the hook zone? If the Killer is inexperienced and/or keeps finding one and the same Survivor while steadily losing gens, is it tunneling when they are just trying to score a kill? I'm not even mentioning the Killer protecting their only Kill during the endgame collapse — they don't have other options, but they're still called a camper and BMed. So, it's very easy for survivors to rationalize that the Killer was tunneling or camping (I was called a camper for phase-walking from the hooked Survivor as Spirit, because they could see Rin's husk standing next to them) — and therefore, it's easy for them to rationalize that this Killer deserves to be bullied. Not to mention that even playing by survivor's rulebook ends with "haha ez" or "you're so bad, how did you even manage to prestige" — we have also had cases of people going as far as finding the player who lost to them on Steam and social media and harassing them there. People BM because they can — it's a cheap ego boost and they will pretend that it's their sacred duty and God given right to ruin other's people mood. Some of them would even excuse their BM as tough love and "motivating" the players to improve until they are worthy of respect.

If you lose a game, though, it might help to keep in mind that it doesn't reflect on you one way or another in real life. You lost a video game; it's not a personal attack nor anything that you'll care about or remember in the future. Losing a video game is trivial. It is annoying and grating to deal with sore winners and your frustration at that is completely justified; sore winners suck. and they should show sportsmanship instead. But it's not a reflection on you in the slightest.

It doesn't, but the problem is that in the game people are given tools and means to make loss humiliating and punish the player for losing by wasting their time and rubbing their helplessness in. The latter is particularly frustrating for beginner players, who don't yet have the sense of the game, but already see that the community is cruel and unforgiving to new players — so they either drop out or become hellbent on not being on the receiving end (this is one of the reasons why V/H/S didn't make it: there were too many ways to harass the Monster, so the only remaining players were absolutely merciless and played like their lives depended on it). They also learn that the only way for the player to be in control and avoid this, is to win.

This is what I mean — despite the fact that a loss in a video game, where skills don't matter (and which should have never even leaned into "competitive gaming") shouldn't be a big deal, this is not reflected in the gameplay. Sore winners can't be taught good sportsmanship, so the only way to reduce their impact is to limit their options and provide their opponent with something else they could spend time on and actually gain value.

I agree with both you and @hermitkermit It's okay to lose games; it happens. It's okay to not be the best in the world; it's a video game. There are far more important things in life to worry about than a video game. However, even suggesting that a tactic might be broken or the odds might have been in their favour to some people makes them incensed. It's not a personal insult but all of a sudden a bunch of people act like it's the Age of the Vikings and people need to turn to a holmgang to restore their honor.

It's not about losing the game. It's about the cost of losing the game. It's about losing being not fun — and people being able to actively contribute to it.

DbD makes it clear that you lose the game = you are beneath you opponents and you deserve to be ridiculed and literally forced to stay in the endgame until the victor decides they're done gloating. In many games, it's not enough for players to just leave the gates — they stay, either noise spamming or tbagging. It's not enough for players to just hook someone and be done with it — they need to go back and forth, not letting already downed survivors go from the game they've lost. Nobody wants to be on the receiving end.

The sad thing is (and why people say this game is "survivor-sided") this issue was partially fixed for survivors: staying too close near hooks now grants a free kobe, there is Unbreakable against slugging, DS against tunneling, and even a limited amount of times the Killer can regress gens (which prevents them from stalling the game for hours). But, if gens are done and the gates are powered, Killers have to contend with either a walk of shame to the exit gate for a final spit in the face, or basically waste time they could have spent playing other matches, waiting for the timer to run out or for the players to leave. In addition to actual issue with maps that are basically a safe pallet haven for survivors and hell for Killers, it's not surprising that Killers would consider this game survivor-sided. And I find it hard to disagree because my games as a Survivor have been much less stressful compared to playing as Killer — in most cases, I knew that even if I lose, I'll be out of the game and ready to go next. I won't have to stick around for the endgame chat or until every survivor leaves the gate.

The "Just break pallets" or "Just tab out and watch some YouTube" advice is kinda part of the problem: as someone has already rightfully stated, if you're encouraged to tab out of the game you're supposed to spend time in, this is bad game design and it would only led to frustration piling up.

I think that either issue with sore winners holding the game hostage for Killers would have changed their perspective. For instance, giving Killers an incentive to do something else during EGC (if survivors have powered the gates and Killers have no endgame perks to get a chance) — either increasing the amount of bloodpoints they get for breaking pallets and walls during the EGC or offering them an alternative activity. For instance, the Killers could be given the choice to go to the Void dimension to farm points with spirits or to pick a random challenge for the next trials that will increase their BPs— yes, it means they lose their final chance to hook survivors, but they get more points without BM. Heck, even scattering small surprises (like with the Entity racoon thing) or initiating glyph hunting would have been a good touch — it would have given the Killer something interesting to do instead of trying to come up with the ways to occupy themselves until survivors finally decide to leave.

I suppose you can say it's a sign of disrespect and mockery, but I would not place it on the same level as using a slur against another person.

Suuuure, there are some people who use teabags along with slurs but let's not group ALL people who teabag into people who actively use slurs to belittle people. You are putting things together that shouldn't really be put together and that depends almost exclusively on the person doing the action and they will get banned accordingly, as that's against the rules in the first place!

I play on console, so I don't see the endgame chat that PC people get - but if someone is teabagging you at the exit gates, screaming profanity in the endgame chat or even in direct messages, promptly report them, and move along to the next game. I haven't personally experienced teabagging and having slurs said to me - the only slurs I have gotten was from a fellow survivor in a match, which I reported.

I would put it on the same level because the only reason tbaggers don't say slurs in the game is because the game doesn't let them. And I believe these things totally should be put together because the goal is the same — to humiliate and offend another player, to make sure they will end this match not only as a losing party, but as a miserable party.

I play on PC, so I see what kind of verbal abuse tbaggers throw in the endgame chat. Reporting doesn't do much — Behavior doesn't care.

  • I certainly started waiting before picking survivors up, just in case they have DS. I guess, they didn't like that.

  • “To many pallets”- this is the only way surviviors can fight against you, you do not have to break every pallet, and you arent required to chase anyone at any pallet. If its not worth it dont do it. Try to chase surviviors near other surviviors objectives to multitask. And the most basic rule is if a survivior juices you once, dont chase them again, it may seem impossible to kill them until you realize they have no protection against hook trades and having half their team dead

Except that god pallets exist — and this is one of the reasons swfs looove sending Killers to the Game map or the Garden of Joy, where there is a ton of safe pallets to hide behind, and no choice for the Killer but to break these pallets.

Comparing teabagging in a video game (since the early days of Halo) to slurs is quite a leap in rationale that I didn't think I'd see on the forums. 💀

I don't understand why people get offended at teabagging and I say that as someone who doesn't even teabag unless I'm actively bm'd to in the first place.

Even as killer, when I see a survivor teabag me... Guess what? They're losing distance to teabag me. If they're at the exit gates teabagging, I go around and kick pallets or just go stand around to be on my phone - it's literally 2 minutes of my time out of the entire duration the match was.

Because it's the sign of disrespect and mockery — players going out of their way to express that they see you as lesser. The fact that people would often say slurs and insults when they t-bag (many streamers have willingly documented themselves doing that) shows that is pretty much the same. And unless you play your most intense, you end up either wasting your time waiting until they're done mocking you and rubbing their victory in — it's really like you have to wait until a guy who beat you at your tabletop game finally gets tired of flipping you off because you don't really have an option to leave the room and everybody else is telling you "relax, it's just a game, take an L, will you?"

I don't wait a second for PC players to type something out. Why would you even want to communicate in DbD?

  • You also don't get to see the endgame chat. which is a blessing.

You have absolutely no way to discern that, other than just guessing.

I believe it is low skill to look at a lobby, go "They look toxic." and then next. You know this creates backlog and screws matchaking, but you do it anyway because why? This is the part Im confused about. Please help me understand how you can tell someone is going to be toxic, that you just HAVE to continue shopping?

Instead of perk reworks, I really wish they'd address the base game. Shopping isn't part of the game mechanics, and yet it continues, skewing many matches all because 'Mmm.. that Nea has torn pants. Next!'. Im just so confused.

There is. It's like identifying venomous creatures in nature.

8 out of 10 Fengs wearing cutesy bunny hoodie will be insanely toxic clickers or tbaggers. Same with Mikaelas in fancy green costumes or Sables in skimpy skirts or Neas with extremely bright neon hair. They basically promote themselves and lately more people have been using the game to straight out harass and abuse players, so I don't expect decency.

Also, coming to the profile and seeing "If you play as PH/Spirit/Plague/anykilleridon'tlike I'll tbagg you cuz you deserve it!" really, really helps weeding out the trashiest of people and making my plays more tolerable. I value my time and I don't want to waste it on those lacking even the modicum of human decency.

  • @Spare_Them_Mori_Me said:

Shopping for a win simply boggles my mind. Talk about holding your hand. I could never get satisfaction out of stomping a pub group, knowing I shopped for it. But if the killer skill is that low, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Time to hide profiles too, I guess. This community…

I don't shop for a win, I shop to avoid toxic players who enter the game with an intention to make my game miserable. Yeah, I guess, trying to avoid disgusting people is now somehow the proof of low skill or something.

What if that gets removed? Or no lobbies at all just loads directly into the trial?

I doubt it because players have an option for an anonymous mode.

  • More fair? No.

Good thing I can still check profiles before I commit.

If you aren't winning as the strongest killer with the strongest perks consistently then you won't and shouldn't ever win against good teams. It's working ad intended.

Why should there be a shortcut to make up for your lack of skill lol?

Bringing up skill in a computer game? Lol. It's not Olympics.

  • Ah yes, nothing is more majestic than a powerful vampire reduced to a victim.

  • With gens popping off within seconds, slowdown perks nerfed and sabo playstyle buffed…are you really surprised that Killers don't want their games to end with waiting till the survivors get tired of tbaggging at the exit gate and finally let them move on to the next game?

  • Left Behind is a perk for you. Whether your teammates are useful or become hookmeat, you get a chance of making it out of the trial — which means, you don't need to rely on others to survive. Having a key on you is also a plus — at least, I've noticed that after the 4-man escape Hatch was removed, Killers target key-holding Survivors less often.

  • @ShadyC said:

Why do I need a break because other people play this game to grief others?

Literally as I type this, I'm minimized as my whole team is slugged and bleeding out, with 4 gens remaining.

Are you saying the two people yesterday that sat at the exit gate for 2.5 minutes straight, while I ran the Killer the whole time, waiting for a protection hit…

Who then teabagged me as I died on my first hook, and then mocked me in postgame chat…

You're telling me that none of these players are playing to grief???

What kind of fantasy land do you live in??? Welcome to the real world. People are like this.

Most of people, especially from the first world countries, live in the world of pink unicorns, believing that humans are generally good and not absolutely rotten and despicable. They are disconnected from reality. I've seen enough players acting toxic for the only reason — because they can. I've also seen what streamers actually say when they innocently "tbag" at the exit gate or sandbag their teammate when they don't play as they like. So, I agree with you — as multiplayer game, DbD is a tool for people to harass and bully others. Removing chat and introducing stricter punishments would have made the game a bit more tolerable, but Behavior is hellbent on building "a community" around the game rooted in sore winner culture and pro-abuse.

  • No, you're not the bad guy here. They entered the game with an intention to mess with you, they were salty you didn't play along and allow them to harass you. They got what they deserved.

  • What is proxy camping even?

If I catch three survivors sneaking around their buddy I've just hooked, that means nobody is doing gens and I'm not letting this advantage go to waste. How can I proxy camp if I'm not given an incentive to leave the area with the hooked survivor?

  • The "we're just saving our teammate" argument falls apart when that "teammate" consistently baits the Killer to chase them and, once downed, makes sure it's either a) as far away from the hook as possible because they had Boil Over and/or a Sabo buddy waiting, b) near the locker to get a Head-On save, c) near the pallet where the flashlight rescue awaits. In that case, it's clear as day what the goal is and their excuse is BS.

Personally, I don't like bully squads. It's a frustrating experience even if I beat them because I'm rarely in the mood for highly intense games with motherless tryhards compensating lack of human affection with harassing other players. But it's funny when they start spewing salt in the post-game chat after losing. From telling me to "grow up" for equipping Lightborn against 3 flashlights to fully exposing themselves as miserable bully garbage by saying that my gameplay was gay (apparently, being called gay was an insult in their books).

  • @Boons123 said:

What's going on with most of the comments here? My post is a sarcasm, not a complaint.

It may be a sarcasm, but making Alucard and Trevor survivors is 100% cringe that proves that players are shallow.

  • I had a game with a sabo squad recently. I understood what they were going for when they basically run into me and started following me once I downed and picked up one of them. So, I just started slugging. They weren't going to let me hook someone anyways, they entered the game with an intention to make the trial frustrating af for me, so there was no other alternative.

  • Also I dont get the survivors in this instance. There is a lot of crying on this forum that everyone apparently only plays against the same broken killers. But when the survivors get a killer that not many people play and realise that the killer isnt good (yet) many see that as a sign to be suddenly toxic af toward you to apparently pay you back for all the pain they experienced by killers over the years.

Because these survivors don't like these killers because they are "boring", they don't like them because they don't get to bully and harass them during trials. Their idea of fun is making people miserable in the game and then abusing them in the endgame chat. They don't really want more different killers or an interesting game — they want to be bullies. So, of course, when the only Killers who remain playing are very determined meta Killers with thousands of hours spent in the game and they dgaf about entertaining survivors, the bullies cry.

  • It depends on what is called camping. I've been called a camper for:

    • Patrolling the area around the hooked Leon to catch and down his bully buddies who sent me to the Eyrie of Crows map — and also to get him to hit the death hook stage. Don't know why they expected me just to bug off to the another side of an extremely survivor-friendly map and kick pallets.
    • Downing survivors who basically followed me to the hook and tried to go for the save right under my nose. I guess it was my bad, didn't get the memo that the Killer is supposed to go stand in the corner and just let it happen.

I think camping (as in, actually staying very close to the hook and exploiting altruistic players) can be viable, but in very specific conditions (for instance, when playing against a very altruistic group or a SWF) and with certain perks/Killer abilities that allow to sneak up on Survivors and down them instantly, while denying them the ways of escape. In these cases, it's actually a strategy that implies good knowledge of the game, maps, and even survivor behavior patterns. It's admirable.

Thoughtless camping (as in slapping a survivor on a random hook and staying by without any plan) punishes the Killer first and foremost: if other survivors aren't overly altruistic, they take their time to do gens and, as a rule, they still have an opportunity to unhook and run. If the Killer can't put them in the dying state from one hit or prevent them from looping, they are left with nothing in the end.

Yeah, I don't understand this argument about survivors teabagging at the exit gate.

When I play killer, typically I just either go mess around on the map to break pallets or force them out or chill around as the endgame collapse timer ends the game.

It's not about the control a survivor feels when they're at the exit gates and the endgame collapse timer isn't the same as being bled out for four minutes as the other survivor waits for the other to die to get a chance at surviving through hatch.

People typically wait at the exit gates to make sure that each survivor makes it to the gate accordingly. Yeah, some survivors will wait at the gate to deliberately teabag at the exit gate but I never understood getting upset at it and from my experience from seeing the teabags at the gate, it's usually a tunneled survivor teabagging in jest as a "you couldn't catch me" type of jab if anything.

I guess, you don't get offended if the person who beats you in a game of cards or chess flips you off and calls you a slur (after all, they won, so they get to behave how they want). Good for you.

  • I don't feel bad about tunneling survivors who run DS and OTR out of the game, if they continuously throw themselves at me. I don't go out of my way to get them, but if there is an opportunity to take them out, I go for it, so they won't bother me for the rest of the trial. You don't get to play aggressively and then expect the Killer just to politely leave you alone when you run out of your second chances.

  • How it's not the same thing? He is just having fun, what's the harm?

  • @RenoPro said:

I always tbag and do troll move, it's just funny and i play to have fun. I really don't care lol, we are playing a videogame you should not get offended by a tbag

I guess you won't get offended if a guy who beat you in chess slaps you in the face then.

  • No, survivors are absolutely not a team. The levels of pettiness and willingness to bash the weakest performer and stomp them into the ground has always been staggering, not to mention the rank-based elitism.

    • Pumpkinhead. It's a rather old franchise, but a cult one. And the entire premise is quite fitting. Although Pumpkinhead's design borrows a LOT from Xenomorph for some reason (even though I didn't find anything on that matter), it would have been a nice addition.
  • I've never thought I'll end up disliking a goth girl character, but here we are.

Like, I wanted to like Sable. I tried to like Sable. She was supposed to be interesting. But sadly, the most interesting thing about her was her introduction in the DLC promo video — and that's that. Her bio is basically "My name is Ebony Dark'ness Dementia Raven Way and I'm Not Like Other Girls" and it feels like a wasted potential. She could have been attracted to things dark and grim because she was sensitive to the forces like Entity (similarly to Haddie and Mikaela), and that she was basically that haunted kid who coped with her visions through finding beauty in darkness and embracing it. Literally saving herself by replacing fear with curiosity and acceptance of her being different. Damn it, all three of her perks emphasize on her connection to darkness and shadows!

But instead, we have a girl who has a rather superficial interest in "darkness" and makes a good placeholder for sexy cosmetics, with BHVR is milking the latter like there is no tomorrow. It is extremely disappointing.

  • I started tolerating Killers who BM more than I tolerate survivors who BM (no matter who I'm playing). Maybe, because I see them doing it more. Also most of the bunch who t-bags at the exit gate got carried by other survivors who bodyblocked, unhooked them and healed them — and yet they do their baboon dance as if they did it all on their own.

  • Is there a difference?

    • Both are much faster and stronger than average human
    • Both will either maul you or turn you into an incubator for the next generation
    • Both can navigate space around them more efficiently than panicking humans

In both cases, it's game over man.

But, if I happen to acquire a makeshift weapon, I'd choose Demogorgon because 1) it doesn't have acid for blood, 2) it acts like a typical predator, so it would actually back off if you keep hitting it hard enough, so there is a slim chance of making it out.

  • I absolutely love Carmina (the Artist). Her backstory, her design, her thoughts expressed on her paintings. The is such an interesting and tragic character that I have a soft spot for her even though I've switched to PH and more mobile Killers right now.

I rarely play survivors now, but Haddie is definitely my favorite and probably the only reason why I still play as a survivor. She has a cool design and her backstory has that Stephen King vibe to it: her abilities and how they affected her life, her coining names for anomalies she experiences because nobody can explain them to her, the way Entity felt apocalyptic through her perspective. Also, the way she got her response to her life-long question about her parents is very chilling.

Looking for advice on how to deal with teams of two survivors that both have Head On and Flashbang and run to double locker setups like people used to do with old locker saves. Is there a way to counter this as killer? Am I supposed to stare at the lockers until they get crows or am I missing something?

Focus on other two survivors who don't have Head On and get them out first - they are probably meant to do gens while the bully couple distracts you. Avoid carrying them anywhere near lockers so you won't give the Head On gang a chance.

Alternatively, slug the Head On survivors if you can. Don't pick them up, just slug them — they probably count on you trying to hook them, so ruin their plans. I did just that when I met Head On Jake and Bill trying to mess around on the Nostromo map. They rage quit.

  • The problem stems from the players' ability to hold the game hostage, which pisses people off and makes them play like their life depends on it because otherwise they will get the loser treatment a.k.a. "you will be humiliated for my amusement because if you lost, you deserve it".

    • Survivors finish the gens and instead of leaving, spam crouch at the gate and make countless noise notifications — they won't let the game end for the Killer until the Killer comes to the exit gate for some extra spitting in the face. I've been around when EGC wasn't even a thing, so this hostage situation could last for hours.
    • The Killer downs all survivors and lets them bleed out out of spite which leads to an unfun and boring experience for survivors (and can be partially negated by anti-slugging perks).

What I mean by this is that until such situations keep happening and as long as the sore winner mentality dominates the community, the division will exist. Locking survivors in the escape animation as soon as they step into the gate and removing end game chat might improve the situation. The less people interact with each other online, the better it is for everybody.

  • This is why I'm not touching the 2v8 mod. People can't be trusted.

  • I saw a theory on YouTube and it's the best explanation of what the Unknown is so far. According to it, the Unknown was created by the Entity worshippers — literally a tulpa fueled by the fear of the unknown and feeding on theories. This is why thinking about Unknown can summon it to the person's location — it comes into existence as soon as the person learns of it and starts digging. So, it is an alien. And a serial killer. And an eldritch power. And a former human mangled by horrible experience. All at once. I don't remember exactly what (according to the theory) the cultists wanted to achieve by creating the Unknown, but it was either to harness the Entity's power and experiment with it or to make the Entity a gift it would like.

  • Right now, I couldn't select perks for any of my Killers because they turned into the Chaos Shuffle perk slots that can't be interacted with. Literally, they had the same question mark icons.

Oh my god, this. Artist's outfits are incredible. She gets the best drip. She's had maybe one okay one and the rest are all home runs. She's one of my favorites to play dress-up with… I desperately need more outfit slots. Trickster and Plague also have really good banger outfit to meh outfit ratio, but Artist is undisputed queen and I'm ready to throw fists over my bird mom.

(What mixes and matches do you do? I love putting her Greek Legends head with her fallen angel body, and her fallen angel head with her plain recolor black dress. Her masquerade mask goes super well with her Amazon Prime outfit too. Desperately saving up for her poisoned flora outfit, because hot damn.)

Survivor-side, I love Yun-Jin's style, though she's got a few weird ones that I seriously question. Kate and Zarina have some great fits too, though at this point just about everyone (except Gabriel) has something really good. I begrudgingly have to nominate Mikaela for getting loads of good drip, but she's clearly an artist's (or rather, consumer's) favorite.

I like combining her Greek Legends head with her black dress. It's simple yet the perfect mix of spooky and classy for me. Also I like to mix the Thorn Flower head with either her recolor green dress or her blue Splendor (it was the first time I bought a rift pass ever because of new Artist cosmetics) outfit and use the mask for the Thorn Flower outfit. The Splendor headpieces also go well with almost all of her recolor dresses. In truth, it's hard to say which one is my favorite because mixing her cosmetics is incredibly satisfying in general.

  • Artist, hands down. Aside from having a generally great design that brings out every important part of her lore, she generally rocks all of her skins and they are so fun to mix and combine together. Also, she designed and made all of these outfits herself, which is a big plus in my books.

  • You don't really need a reason to quit DBD.

Its the result of failed parenting.

My first tim getting bullied by 4 people swf with old SWF made me angry and made the game unfun for other survivors. But I never wish others dead.

OP was complaining about someone else wished OP to dead and the first thing you think is to blame victim.

I didn't blame OP. I said that this is the outcome of the sore winner culture and aggressive in-game behavior. Winners are treated like kings and allowed to be as despicable as they can because they are "more skilled" while the defeated party has to endure the abuse and the ridicule because they failed to prove their worth as human beings. As a result, the former become more and more unhinged in their words while the latter prepare to lash out as violently. There is nothing healthy about that, but given the human nature this pattern won't change any time soon.

Hang on…are you really defending the behavior of a person wishing someone dies???

No, I'm just saying that this is the result of behavior nurtured and approved by community.

  • No. There is already a plenty of second chance perks and items for survivors. Slapping survivor revival on top will give bully squads even more toxicity fuel than they already have. When I play as a survivor, I have no wish to assist bullies in the game, so I won't appreciate being brought back. As a Killer, I hate such people having more options to extend the game.

  • I hope they add Emily in that case because she didn't suffer enough.
