  • Yes but it takes the survivor a halfish second before they can run

  • This is also why mobility killers are so good. Most people think it's because they can patrol gens fast but it's mostly because they can negate this.

On the topic of it being an issue. I don't know. Most killers can do something against this. On the top of my head i think only trapper myers bubba and doctor can do nothing against this. You know how long it takes to catch them so you don't have to chase them.

In the video example going to find other survivors after the first hit would have been better.

Killers think way to often they need to chase a survivor from healthy to downed. If you get a hit and you're not a mobility killer find someone else and leave them for later instead of chasing a survivor that just sprintbursted away while you stood still wiping your weapon

  • You're going to have to show me the video of this youtuber streamer. Specifically the part where they say this is toxic.

Cause bringing to attention that a strategy is very effective dispite being simple does not sound like calling something toxic to me.

Seems to me the only one calling you toxic is yourself

  • Waw that killer was being a community hero by helping survivors do that one difficult tome challenge and here you are complaining about it.

    For shame. For shame

  • When i play killer and bloodlust kicks in. I'm going back to pressure gens unless i'm confident i can get a hit or pallet very shortly after. That's the only use i have for bloodlust.

As a survivor while i know that ot's technically better to last as long as possible. Juking a killer is just too satisfying. I love when i houdini them and leave them scratching their head

They’ve ignored ricochet as bade kit suggestions because that would be BROKEN!!!

This community doesn’t do itself any justice, and paints an overall poor picture of itself, because it continually suggests unbalanced changes, and a lot of “majority” sentiment is just sheep mentality: “such and such said this so I’m gonna say the same thing”

Ricochet basekit really wouldn't be that bad.

Especially with how janky the terrain is. As long as the bonus laceration is removed. Base kit bouncing would not only help his biggest weakness of highwall loops. But also just be more fun and unique.

Still going to buy him no matter what they change about him but imo it would be the best change he could get

What's wrong with the new killer? I found him very funny on the PTB.

    Mechanical wise he's pretty underwhelming.

I'm still going to buy him cause i just want to have fun and ocelotting people with ricocheting blades is fun.

I do expect to lose most of my games with him though and for some people can't have fun unless they win

  • It's without a doubt the best distance gainer out of all the exhaustion perks.

Sprint burst for example gains you 18m (6m/s times 3 seconds) - 13.8 (4.6 times 3) = 4.2 meters of extra distance if the killer follows you

This perk is 21m (6 times 3.5) - 0 cause the killer is stunned for the first 1.5 seconds of the duration and then either has to break the pallet or walk around it. That's 5 times as much distance.

And while yes the killer can avoid it by respecting pallets there is a reason killers don't respect pallets now. Every time you respect a pallet you give the survivor a free dead hard for distance.

It probably won't be better then the current meta cause this perk is useless vs ranged killers and other power heavy killers like nurse and spirit cause they rarely get pallet stunned.

But it's still pretty good. Definitivily the strongest survivor perk released in a long time. Going to make life of a lot of m1 killers hell

  • Legion isn't even close to bottom. Yes they have to deal the final blow with an m1 but that really isn't the impossible feat people are thinking it is. Especially with everyone injured you only need one succesfull mind game

Their power does so many things to make up for that small weakness

easilly injures people practicly making everyone exposed. This automatically makes them better then myers who to get a simular effect for like a minute has to stun himself for ages.

Stall the game. Every deepwound you apply is 15% of a gen not being worked on. As long as you don't allow people to disrespect you by mending in your face he passivilly slows the game down.

Information. And this is the big one. The fact that you can have a pretty good idea where everyone is by finding a single survivor is very valuable. Good Legions will always have someone dead by hook 5 or 6 cause they can easilly find the person. And once the game is 3v1 killer just wins.

People just really play Legion wrong. He is a 4v1 killer and most play him as a 1v1.

They still need to play the game by the rules so they won't be higher then B, but if you utilize all aspects of their power well a solid B they are.

Any tier list that puts them at the bottom is a meme tier list in my eyes

  • Kinda sad ricochet didn't become basekit.

It's the most fun part about him, it's such a shame to hide that behind an addon

  • Question. I don't follow fnaf at all but does fnaf have any cooperations?

Seems weird that Scott would mention that if they never had it in the first place.

Unless it was meant to confizzle us

  • Mori's are in a pretty good spot now. I'm actually taking them without having to feel bad.

If i would change something it would be to give bonus bp per mori at the end of the trail. As in outside of the normal 32000 limit.

Hell give survivors that were morried bonus bp too

  • Even killers with anti loop are struggling there. Every other pallet is a godpallet.

    “Isn’t even all that”

Its one of the most powerful anti-slug perks out there, infinitely better than something like buckle up, and therefore its one of the most powerful survivor perks.

Eh not really, I feel you are overvalueing it a bit.

Wglf will never save you 8 seconds. By the time the killer finished wiping their weapon and walked away 4 seconds already passed that the slug could recover.

So even if you are right there and the killer doesn't pay any attention at all it saves you 6 seconds. That's best case scenario.

If the slug has been on the ground for longer then 15 seconds then it saves you like half a second. If they happen to have unbreakabill it's even less valueable

It's decently effect and can come in clutch but it's nowhere near powerfull.

Unbreakabill will always be the better anti slug cause it stops what slugs are suppose to do. Getting survivors of gens to come pick their teammate up.

You still need to abandon your gen to use wglf. Having the time they have to spend reduced by 0.5-6 seconds while noticable is nowhere near most powerfull survivor perk.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2021233#Comment_2021233

You really dont know what i am talking about... do you?

Killer attack cooldown is 3 seconds.

With wglf survivors can pick each other in 4 seconds (if both are picking up).

Soulguard lasts 8 seconds, which is enough (if you have 200% healing speed) to heal each other while killer is hitting healers.

Healed survivor can tank a hit for next 8 seconds, while healing with another one, who has 4 more seconds of soulguard the downed survivor.

In short, 3 survivors can hold the killer infinitely. Earlier it required medkits and when they run out, there was a problem for survivors, but now...

Now it's almost like the old sabo, where killer can't do anything, unless it's killer with power that downs survivors, or he has StBfL...

So yeah... this perk is still meh (almost 0 buff value) for low lvl players, but is insane for swf on higher skills...

So yeah... devs got a brainfart...

That little trick only works if the killer is gullible enough to down the survivors one by one every time

What you do is play along untill everybody is affected by deep wounds from soul guard and then you focus on a single survivor.

The other ones will either have to stop the cycle to mend or will eventually colapse because their 20 second timer ran out.

If this really would have worked like you said you would see it all the time. People playing this game really wouldn't pass up a way to cheese the system

I'm going to assume you never actually had this happen to you and just saw a video of it. Youtubers with their wacky builds have to go in low ranks and play 20 or so matches untill their shenanigans work for them to make a video.

You shouldn't take the stuff they get away with seriously like 95% of the time.

  • It kinda reminds me of fighting games.

Easy to learn, hard to master.

Like sure everyone can run in a cirle around a object. But to know the exact amount of times you can run around based on the distance of the killer and to know that if you make use of the tile next to the one you are on you can make it even harder to chase you isn't as easy anymore.

People who say this game is easy are the same people that would say fighting games are all about mashing buttons

  • @Brokenbones said:

Oh sure, I'm not saying it's not an effective strat. I know why people do it

But that doesn't mean it's healthy for the game or actually fun to be apart of. The worst part is Infectious Fright is only really effective on the already powerful killers that can win 'normally' anyway (If played well of course).

A good Nurse or Oni doesn't need to slug everyone to death at 5 gens but people do it anyway, for whatever reason that may be. Facing that kind of player in solo Q is one of the few times I wouldn't blame someone for DCing.

Problem is we don't know we are facing a bunch of casual solo's or an competitive swf squad.

Early game is the part where killers are at their weakest and going easy there will ensure a loss against the good survivors.

That the occational stompfest happens against solo's sucks but this game is all about momentum and letting the foot of the gaspedal against good survivors is asking to lose.

You can't really ask killers to take that risk. Especially seeing how the counterplay of splitting up is something you should be doing at the start anyway.

  • Why should the perk that helps with slugging prevent the very thing it's suppose to do?

Slugging is part of the game. It's a pressure tool that forgo's a hook state to save 6-22 seconds of time and to have some lethality to killers by allowing snowball.

If anything killers should be encouraged to slug more cause it's how you can stop the gens from popping left and right.

If your team doesn't group up you can't be all slugged

  • The blight cosmetic of Legion is pure art

  • @Seraphor said:

    Maybe we need more like:

Get 10 hooks in a single match.

Get 12 hooks in a single match.

Break 3 pallets using Spirit Fury, complete this in a single match.

    Hit a survivor while blinded.

    Etc.

I did try to do Pyramid Head's daily in one match yesterday. It involved chasing survivors for about 10 minutes trying to herd them into my torment so that I could cage them. If it had been a competent team I would have definitely thrown the match. I even had Nancy locked in a corner surrounded by torment pools, self-caring. I could have easily gone in an M1'd her and hooked her, but she refused to walk though my torment even when I was standing right behind her with her exit clear.

Ngl hit a survivor while blinded would be the worst challenge so far.

The only time i can think of that would work is to do the ryuga tech with Legion. And it seems most survivors are aware of it

If I do that I’m sure to be called a trash killer and camper

I mean... yes but who cares.

If you are asking for a way to win pvp matches without the other side getting salty you would be out of luck.

People get salty when they lose no matter how they lost. That's not a dbd specific thing.

If you're on pc you can turn the postgame chat off. Don't know for console but you can probably stop private messages there too

  • @Dragonshensi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2019814#Comment_2019814

My problem is by the time is gets down to em the final two gens I’ve hooked everyone once. But with how fast gens go realistically you should have at least one or two already on death hook. I’m finding it very impossible.

See that's a mistake. Hooking everyone once is good if you want to bloodpoint farm with bbq but if you actually want to get kills someone really should be dead by hook 4-5.

You really need to actively ignore 1 to 2 survivors untill someone is dead. I think someone on this forum called it reverse tunneling and it does make sense. Needing 9 hooks untill someone is dead compared to 4 or 5 is a world of difference.

You don't need to go hardcore tunnel into camp ofcourse but you do need to show a little teeth to stand a chance. You want to get the 3v1 asap and you want to defend hooks if you can.

Now it isn't easy. Like i said survivors hold all the power at the start and the smallest mistake can lead to a loss.

But keep the defend 4 gens and ignore 1-2 survivors in mind and it should increase your killrate quite a bit.

I hope it helps. It is a very frustrating road to become better at killer and i think everybody had that match where they scratch their head thinking what on earth they did wrong

  • That moment you get body blocked by a teammate who then proceeds to "For the People" you just to get instantly downed again just because they want to do that pick up slugs challenge.

Sad part is it is in theory the best way to complete that challenge

  • @Dragonshensi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2019814#Comment_2019814

But if you can’t even hook Someone before two gens pop you’re in a bad spot as killer. That’s what I’m running into

Yeah it certainly not the best.

The big problem of the game right now imo is that at the start of the game the survivors hold all the power.

All palets are up, killer has zero pressure. Large selection of gens. When they split up properally you can't defend all gens. It's impossible.

Over time the scales start going to the killers side. Pallets get destroyed, less gens to defend, people get injured and hooked. And once the scales tip towards the killer it becomes very hard to turn it back. Once a survivor is dead and the killer can keep the pressure survivors generally have very little hope to win. That's why so many killers try tunneling someone out

If you can't defend all generators against all survivors you shouldn't even try. At the start of the game look for 3/4 gens close together and focus on defending them. Corrupt helps a lot cause the generators blocked are ussually close and you can guaranty they don't get progress untill you get some pressure

Also try to focus on 2-3 survivors untill someone is down. Best case would be to hook survivor A then B then A then C and then the final blow to A. That should allow you to dodge ds while pressuring other survivors and still getting someone out of the game asap.

Also learn when to slug. It is vital to the pressure killers have. It takes between 4-20 seconds or something to hook someone. That's an insane amount of time to not be pressuring anything. If you didn't have to slug to win a match the survivors were out of your league. It is absolutly vital to be able to pressure

Now these aren't perfect solutions. You'll still get matches where the game ends before you can get the advantage. But it does help a little and the mindset of focusing on 4 gens to defend instead of 7 will help against the demoralising feeling of losing 3 gens before you were able to do anything at all.

Again not a perfect solution but it's what works best for me so far

  • While it is certainly disheartening you really shouldn't give up. There's a big difference between the first generator being done and the last one being done.

You can lose 3 gens in the first 2 minutes of the match and then never lose a gen again because the survivors made your patroll route so small.

I've had countless of matches where 3 gens were done in the first couple of minutes and then hold on and got 9+ hooks with a 3/4k.

The first couple of gens really don't matter that much

  • You know how when you miss a skillcheck you can't progress anymore for 3ish seconds.

Including that in the kick effect and that the regression doesn't go away untill the full 3 seconds have been worked on could be neat

  • Think of emblems as an audience in a gladiator battle. They want a spectacle if you want to please them.

That said nothing is stopping you from ending the match asap and just ignore the booing.

It really could use a overhaul. Plague barelly can pip having an amazing match and I'm positive you can reach red ranks with Legion without killing a single survivor

  • I will never take IGN seriously anymore.

That said dbd is a good game. It is probably a 8/10. It is the best in it's genre there is no denying that.

Everybody who gives it a score lower then 6 need to look at their hours. People wouldn't spend thousands of hours on a 6/10 game.

  • Giving the ricovhet basekit is a solid first step.

Not only will he be stronger but he will also be more fun to play, his name will make more sense and he will be more unique to other ranged killers. None of them can hit you while behind los now.

It's such a shame the most fun aspect of his power is locked behind a purple addon

  • I watched him during his no hit run of dark souls 2 and it kinds sticked.

He's just a chill dude that's pretty good at games and is willing to give advice.

Thing is you really don't need to be more then that

  • I'm very happy to hear someone finds them fun.

For me personally they are probably the most unfun killer in the roster. I can't really put my finger on it why but i really don't enjoy them

  • @VonCrow said:

There aren't that many keys out there, so you can dodge all the lobbies with keys.

The only problem is when they equip the key in the lasts seconds, you have 3 options: pay atenttion and dodge inmediatedly, disconnect from the game and watch some youtube or twitter 5 minutes or just accept the result and prepare to be t-bagged.

If you quit from the loading screen you don't get a penalty.

The devs have it all in place to give you a penalty but they aren't turning it on now. Most likely because of this exact issue

  • It's not even that keys are that strong. It's just that a match with a key will never be satisfying.

You either stomp the survivors and the key never mattered. But you just played a boring stompfest

Or the survivor stomp you so hard the key never mattered. But then you were the one getting stompfested so that wasen't satisfying either

Or you are equally skilled and the key skips the part where the scales of the match just start tipping towards killer.

It's never a good match with a key. So why bother playing a game with one

  • ussually pretty chill. I always play to win ofcourse but i will put my foot off the gaspedal once survivors are struggling hard

  • Math is slightly of.

20% penalty means survivors work at 0.8 charges/second

    80/0.8= 100 seconds so 20 seconds more.

Max dying light is actually 11 if you can shuffle the obsession but 9 is more realistic so 27% penalty.

On it's own that would be 80/0.73= 109.5 seconds. So 29.5 seconds more

Multiple debuffs stack multiplicatively so 0.8 x 0.73= 0.584 c/s which means 80/0.584= 137 seconds so a whopping 57 seconds more but at that point you already won so meh

That does mean that you lose about 5% effectiveness by combining them but still

  • @FellowKillerMain said:

In all honesty, do you think this change to Deep Would would make him viable? It takes what, 10 seconds to mend now? Pretty easy to get that done when standing on either side of a pallet imo.

Legion could use some tweaking but making them even more hated by survivors is not a good idea i think

  • Forgetting about our dear old Legion are we?

  • I mean tomato tomato

Calling it genrushing or effecient teams is bassicly the same thing but a different name.

Efficient teams genspeed is (kinda) a problem cause it means in the early game if the killer makes the slightest mistake they lose

I will say that it's not this huge broken thing that completly makes the game unplayable. You barelly see teams that can do this. But it's there.

It would be nice if early game wasen't so punishable for killers and midgame wasen't so hopeless for survivors the second someone is out of the game but that's just how this game of scales works

  • I wish it was a bit more obvious tbh. I always forget about it and it wouldn't surprise me if the mayority of players didn't even know it's there

  • Noed has been complained about since the release and already has seen several changes. I don't think they will change it again.

  • Honestly it would be much more interresting if it legit switches the gasses.

Making the slowdown gas have a delay and the speed up one being instant.

Probably would be pretty weak still but interresting

  • Idk. While yes people who say these kind of things should be banned I'm not really keen on automatic ban systems.

I know a guy that got banned from a dating app while talking about chess cause they mentioned black and white pieces over and over.

He should have seen it coming after saying white is superior but still.

  • If people are wondering why every single survivor released lately is a young female read this post lol

  • Legions power actually gives him quite a lot.

    • Information: hitting a survivor will reveal all survivors without deepwounds in your terror radius. People often think this is just to be able to chain hits but it's so much more then that. Knowing where survivors are is key to winning. And knowing where they are not is also a huge benifit. You frenzy a survivor and nothing is revealed with killer instinct? You can bet they are at the other side of the map rushing gens. Let the survivor you just hit mend and go stop them. It also makes finding specific survivors a lot easier. You don't need to constantly chase the same person to tunnel them out of the game. For example you hook survivor A for the second time. Then you can go chase and down survivor B. If you find survivor C after that you can frenzy them and go find survivor A who is on deathhook
    • Slowdown. Mending takes by default 12 seconds solo or 8 seconds when someone else does it. 12 seconds on a gen is 15% progress. 8 seconds for 2 survivors is 17%. Double it if you have ruin active. That's why you should very rarely chase survivors who are deep wounded if you can. Unless they run into a deadzone. Mid to late game if everyone is injured you're better of frenzying a survivor to find the other injured ones and chase them while the first on has to mend
    • Easy injure. The snowball potential is quite high with Legion. You injure people so easilly that they eventually will stop healing. That makes unhooking very risky. If you happen to be around while a unhook is happening a trade is the best thing survivors can hope for. Frenzying a survivor to find 2 others to then down one of them, slug and chase the third is a very sudden spike in pressure that's not uncommon if you know what you're doing

The weakness of the Legion is that they have to finish the job by themself. If mindgames and hiding your red stain are foreign concepts to you, you'd be better of with a killer that has a chase power to make it easier for you. Luckilly Legion is one of the best m1 chasers in the game trumped only by pig and ghostface. Who can crouch midchase in addition to the following benifits

They are short and completly silent. They can pull of mindgames towering Plague or footstomping Oni or Demo can only dream off. Many don't seem to realise the things you can pull of with Legion that just doesn't work with other killers. For example revaulting shack window is worthless with clown. With Legion it will catch many offguard. To top it all off one succesfull mindgame is all you need.

In short no it's not worthless. It just needs a different mindset of play. If you frenzy a survivor just to chase after them then you'll find the speedboost you gave them will reach them to safety every single time. And you'll waste time chasing a single survivor in a strong spot. He is a 4v1 killer so you need to play him as one.

Sorry, long post but that just shows that their is a lot more then meets the eye with Legions power

  • I always though a good change to beast of prey would be to make bloodlust last longer outside if chase

So you could chase someone, get bloodlust and then abandon chase to ambush a nearby gen at increased movement speed and without the red stain

  • At first i started playing Legion because i really liked how they looked and I always found humans to be more scary then a horror monster.

Really ended up liking the playstyle. It wasen't just use power chase down move on like the other killers. But really using the information and slowdown you get tactically. Not to mention chaining hits just feels satisfying.

Feng I just really thought was cute. She has amazing cosmetics that mix and match well. And every survivor released after that i really didn't want to spend a ton of bloodpoints to be able to get all perks on what's essentially a skin.

A survivor would reallllyy need to speak to me before i want to go through that hassle to change mains

  • How about instead banning them we update the afk crow system so it actually works

1 … 85 86 87 88 89 … 142
