Nerfing Marvin's Blood when it should be basekit is peak DBD
-
Yeah, there's a reason you start seeing the same killers over and over again.
It doesn't really matter what perks you use, Myers is going to struggle and lose a lot more than Blight or Huntress. You just gotta accept it and pray they don't nerf you for no ######### reason.
-
Because SWF
-
No he's not fun to play against. After the first hook he instantly starts another chase, downs them in 5 seconds, then starts another chase.
SoloQ you can't even touch a generator because everyone is constantly on the floor, it's almost as bad as a Nurse game.
-
The POV curb stomp + clunky gameplay
-
Everyone knows chases are the best part of the game right? So a killer who tunnels one person for 5 gens is just showing them a good time.

I don't think it's that extreme but you just can't deny that the average game is killer sided. Be it for balance reasons or not. Killers have an advantage especially against solo teams.
Killers have an advantage against potatoes
-
Yeah too true, and they wouldn't hide MMR either.

"Just because Otz was able to play Hag with no perks and still win consistently is more about his overall skill in the game more than the state of the game."
So essentially if you are good at the game and play a good killer you'll win more times than not. I don't get how people have a problem with the fact that you have to be good at the game to get consistent wins. It's almost like killers want every game handed to them like it is at every other MMR level.
A lot of those survivors were really bad anyway
-
@gendoss said:
I wonder if the narrative on the forums will ever change from killer's being oppressed. People like Otz and Scott Jund are finally admitting it because there is just so little evidence on the contrary.
Where are you getting the idea that people are "realising this game is so killer sided"
Did you just wake from a fever dream?

The Blight build was way more unfair. Survivors don't have anything that could stop it.
You know the unfairness and how OP it is because killers can win with that build almost blind folded. The 4 survivors have to be sweaty, on comms, and make no mistakes and even then they might lose to it.
It desperately needs a nerf.
I hate Blight but nah it's fine
-
No, it's fine.
Until SWF, CoH, Dead Hard, Maps and Generators have been looked at no killers should ever be nerfed again under any circumstances.

@Junylar said:
75% killrate with a perkless killer & AFK for 30 seconds = the game is survivor sided? Mmkay.
Better balance the game around bad survivors then
-
@realflashboss said:
If you play as mean as you want then killer sided every time. Occasionally beaten by extremely lucky RNG or competent survivors. Map RNG plays a huge part in who the favour can stand with.
Killers always have and still do get more kills than survivors escape. Doesnt really matter if it's because of DCs, SWF or whatever, if the game was ultimately survivor sided then escapes would always and consistently outweighed the kills. They dont.
If you aren't managing to kill well at 'high mmr' then you're probably not at that high mmr. Otz just did a video playing every killer and even playing perkless and afk for 30s he still managed an average 3.56 kill rate or something ridiculous - when he played by the 'killer' rulebook technically no-one escaped if you discount the 4 hatch escapes or something like that out of the 92 or so survivors he faced. - He was playing on his normal account so high MMR.
People say you should balance around high MMR so.... speaks volumes.
Saying that i find killer WAY more stressful and it is frustrating going against really good teams but I know i'm just not playing that optimally - killer is WAY higher skill ceiling in terms of time management etc. than surviror.
Good I hope survivors enjoy getting camped and tunnelled as more killers begin to realise it's the only way to play

It's a question?
I'm not trying to debate it.
I'm asking, do others consider stacked gen slowdown as a crutch? Much like dead hard is considered.
Why or why not?
If you don't want to answer, please stop quoting me.
No, stacked slowdown isn't a crutch. LOL

You mean the rumors that after his 8 hour dailly playsession he plays another 8 hours tanking his mmr?
I know some people think of Otz as superhuman. But the dude still needs to sleep and eat
Wow, a whole 8 hours playing video games. It's a wonder he can even get out of bed in the morning, he must be Superman.
What do you do after work?

It has substance now.
You can harken back to old times for nostalgia. But you can't eliminate an argument now because you feel it wasn't valid a year or two ago.
Even if all gen slowdown perks were removed tomorrow, Survivors would still use Dead Hard. It doesn't matter what build the killer has.
-
@Clevite said:
I'll say this, if you stack gen slowdown, don't complain about dead hard.
Because if you are slowing gens to a crawl, well chases need to be extended.
Dead Hard/BT/DS was meta even when the only worthwhile slowdown perk was Ruin
So that threat has no substance
-
I don't believe for one second that it's only a 15% difference
-
Why blame gen slowdown perks? Just say Blight.
SoloQ can't handle Blight.

I agree it does not mean he is bad, but it does imply he did the challenge with an agenda to make it appear harder to win. Every other person that has done it played to win. For the past month tru3 has been playing to win, even using NOED to his dismay, so why would he randomly switch back to playing nice for a challenge in which you are supposed to prove you can win?
I feel like if you go into that kind of challenge with a markedly different attitude than the rest it kind of muddied your results.
You should do this challenge too
DO IT
-
New Ruin is the perfect example.
It made high pressure mobility killers even stronger but did nothing for low mobility m1 killers (the ones who actually need slowdown)
Even shrinking the maps will just make killers like Blight or Nurse more oppressive. Less pallets help Pig but create more dead zones for Blight to get easy downs.
-
Hopefully survivors will stop complaining about my tunnelling and camping now that I have the blessings of DBD master Otz
-
@Dino7281 said:
So this game is good for a killer when you use nuclearn option each game and you tunnel/camp whenever you can (best situation for it).
No #########
Yeah, he admits he plays as scummy as possible to get the wins... like no ######### bruh?
-
Boons are so bad they set the game back 2 years at least
-
Boons are a horrible mistake and shouldn't exist
-
-Show SWF in lobby
-Remove Boon totems
-Fix maps/generators
Don't care about any thing else

I’m going to stop debating why killers a what tier they are now, as most here just want to reassure their own confirmation bias.
I will say this, you need to watch every killer for his explanation as to why each killer is where they are, not just hot take after looking at the end result. Tofu’s explanations as to why he put each killer where makes his choices a lot clearer. He ranks killers very highly on chase potential, and mobility less so.
His tier list sucks there's no sugar coating it
-
Doesn't bother me, they need to let off some steam after a game against SWF probably.
-
I try to get challenges done as quickly as possible, I don't care if i have to throw the game as a Killer or Survivor. I want the BP/Rift fragments.
But I don't like challenges in the first place, I'd prefer if they weren't in the game.
-
Lots of Killers have given up trying to play the game "fairly" it's a waste of time.
The game is so broken and survivor sided they're just learning to adapt
-
Just loop him to death, it doesn't matter if he procs insta down.

Corrupt for sure. Pain Resonance's numbers are so small it hardly matters. Pop is too hard to use (having to stop and kick gens, 45 seconds because of the nerf, needing a hook, needing the gen not to get done in your face, etc). BBQ is just information, which I think is overrated unless you're like Blight.
A bit of a tangent here, but when we talk about metas in other games, it's everyone using the stuff that gives them the most advantage. You know, stuff that's "OP". I honestly believe that killer doesn't have a meta in this game in the same way that metas are in other games. In this game, the killer "meta" at least at the highest level just seems to be stuff that evens the playing field out, if even that, rather than giving them like an overwhelming advantage.
You need to run Corrupt/Deadlock just to play the game normally, so you don't have an 8-minute match did to runaway gens, and you need No Way Out and NOED for endgame, because you will inevitably get to endgame unless the survivors throw. Otherwise, you're just taking the wildest shots in the dark by deviating from those perks. Everything else is so much less consistent. And when these top perks can't even save you a lot of the time, you know picking anything else is gonna be like you saying, "I want to lose."
Yeah the killer "meta" is using band-aid perks to make the game playable

I was told I was sweating hard after a 1k Deathslinger match. I was like ...what?
1K on Deathslinger? Sounds like he needs another nerf.

It needs more hooks, 4 isn't enough.

Sounds like a great idea. They should also make it so that if you spot a hex totem its aura gets revealed to the rest of your team so they can cleanse it while you're being chased.
I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not, but sure why not?
SWF exists and if it isn't considered cheating then they might as well do it. lol

I think people are only thinking of it in static terms, like memorizing window locations, not thinking about how you can see where pallets have been used up in prior chases, which is really what use a more experienced survivor would get out of it.
*Solo Survivor
SWF doesn't need this perk, they already tell each other where the dead zones are.
-
How did he get a single hook
-
I want to thank you for helping spread awareness so that both new and seasoned killers can improve their camping skills, it's desperately needed in these dark times.

This doesn't stop Killers bring survivors to hooks. It's what happens to a survivor after they are hooked.
Once a survivor is hooked, they are teleported to a random hook away from the Killer.
In a perfect world, facecamping wouldn't be a problem. However, facecamping has become such a viable option that players are stopping playing the game because of it. It also means that Killers who don't facecamping are also being punished because gen speeds are adjusted for facecamping, which is one of the most efficient tactics a killer can currently use.
You remove facecamping, gen speeds can be slowed down.
Gen speeds are not adjusted for face camping. Gen speeds have always been ridiculous because they want survivors to escape easily when they choose to.
-
Give the killer more points for making the survivors suffer and bleed out
-
@glitchboi said:
If they do remove his synergy with those two perks, then he should be given many buffs to compensate.
He needs buffs either way

@AngyKiller said:
So make Kindred basekit and render Insidious unusable?
Not to mention stealth Killers like Ghostface?
It's an easy fix, but it's not a good fix.
Might as well, SWF does it.
-
That's a good idea for Head On.
Why should SWF get so many advantages over both killers and solos? As long as SWF exists they should improve QoL for solos.
-
uhh I've seen plenty and now I just assume kobe is 100% and every one who gets up from being slugged is sus until end screen
-
His power is so high risk and so little reward, I'm still not convinced it actually does anything.
-
All it does is give you info on every dead zone on the map. So yes, it ruins the killer's element of surprise when they change targets but who cares? SWF already does that.
Plus it bridges the gap between survivors who have map knowledge of loops and those who don't.
-
No it wouldn't, because they interpret the data in whatever way they want that has no basis in reality. It literally doesn't matter.
Just do whatever you want and if they continue to make killer even more frustrating than it already is more people will quit.
-
@Clevite said:
Honestly, it would be the opposite.
Run no slow down, never tunnel or camp, and don't use noed.
Then after a few months, see what the data says about balance then.
Data doesn't matter, it's a proven fact.
Just have fun in whatever way you can.
