Detectives Hunch and Maps exist.
This isn't a NOED problem or even a totem count problem. This is a survivors having counters and refusing to use them problem.
-
Also WHY CAN'T HE BREAK PALLETS WITH HIS SLAM?!!?!?!?!?!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?1/1/111111/!?!!
-
Shack does not need a breakable wall. If you can't mind game shack as a killer, either get better or stop playing killer lol.
But as for school - it's as I said in another thread. This will only create better survivors. No more "better run to the super safe building with sometimes 2 god pallets that exist, as well as a pseudo infinite loop and hump it until the killer leaves, then pretend I looped well". Even a mediocre survivor can do well at that loop without those breakable walls.
-
Camera is the same. Compare your game to youtube videos of gameplay over the years.
As far as the breakable walls are concerned - they are there to shut down the "killer saw me, better go hump the building instead of learning how to be a skilled looper!" (can't wait for this to come to Disturbed Ward); and not ever wanting to break them isn't entirely true. There's plenty of situations where the killer might want to break them instead of going around. To stop a gen from being done, for one. Or to get a basement hook (in the event that they wouldn't make it going around).
Medkits may be more visible, but the graphically reworked maps offset this by being FAR easier to hide in.

Ok, here are some basic counters to things people find anoying or uncounterable, hope this helps someone.
Perks:
- NOED: Do totems, help yourself with Small Game if you're having that much trouble with this perk, if it pops, just leave, don't play hero unless you don't care if you die in the process (I play hero all the time, hehehe)
- PGTW: Repressed Alliance, you can't repair the gen for 30 seconds but the killer can't kick it either and get the progress down.
Killers:
- Spirit: Fixated, as soon as she phases walk TOWARDS her, she'll lose you 9/10 times.
- Freddy: Fixated, if he teleports to your gen, Fixate into cover, don't run
- Trapper: Small Game (hope it gets a buff to see auras of abjects detected someday) can help you detect traps
- Bubba: Keep running, they have the "mental glitch" of starting the chainsaw close to a pallet cause they know you're dropping it (I'll share a vid of how to do so as a comment)
- Legion: Learn to 360, when in sprint, cause of his speed, it's easier to dodge
- Huntress: Crouch when she throws the Axe, it works more if there's a structure between you both. Don't run in a straight line.
- Plague: CLEANSE, if she grabs corrupt HIDE, those are long but easy games if you do this
- Myers: There's no counter, you're doomed (nah, he's my nemesis, I always die to him, I can't give advice against him). Spine Chill maybe? I say "maybe" cause once he changes tiers it's practically a wasted perk
- Ghost Face: Spine Chill
- Pig: Spine Chill
- Billie: He's dead now, but I'd say SPLIT, don't let him get multiple downs by staying close to each other
- Pyramid Head: Crouch, if you crouch through his marks it doesn't affect you. NEVER run in a straight line.
Share any tip you'd like others to know, lets help each other.
I agree with most of this - except Spirit (if she has Stridor - fixated does nothing for you, even if you have iron will).
Pop as well - I don't consider Pop OP, but repressed alliance stopping them from kicking the gen sounds great, but blocked for 30 seconds? You'd be better off letting the killer Pop the generator, cause you'll get that progress back, and likely finish the gen in that 30 seconds or less.

Face camping is NOT subjective as you can tell the condition to determine face camping is given by the simple continuous proximity check.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1610317#Comment_1610317
Second chances?
*Match starts*. Survivor 1 loops the killer for 1-2mins. He's eventually caught. Bubba classic case: He hooks the poor soul and stands right in front of him until he dies. The same procedure will happen almost always for at least 1 more survivor. What's fun about this? Nothing. What can you do against this other than doing gens (wow what a fun game)? Nothing.
BT exists. Bubba can't counter BT anymore if done correctly. He can't rev his chainsaw for long. He literally has a cooldown.
-
I have 2 specific conditons where I'll one hook myself.
- I get hooked, and some super Einstein level survivor decides it's a good idea to loop the killer around me, while I'm on the hook. I just dip. Because that survivor is a colossal idiot.
- I get hooked, and see 2 or more of my team mates not on a generator/self caring or urban evading in a corner. Or if they are walking to me, across the map, just to save their sprint burst.

Rock bug effected killers too.
And besides, last time DS was bugged, it was fixed within 2 days. Meanwhile, it took months for Wraiths post-uncloak lunge to be fixed.

Ill agree they should not get second chances it sucks but not enough that they should give you a second chance
^^
As I said, NOBODY likes being camped; but at the end of the day, you really lose nothing by being camped. Pips mean literally nothing, and you don't lose any BP you already accrued.
That being said, there's times when camping is actually the correct and most effective play on the killers part. If I hook someone, and I see that one or two other survivors are literally right there, hiding behind a tree (or wherever, whether they know I saw them or not), there is no reason for me to leave the hook until I know they are gone. Why would I leave the hook if one is on the hook and 1 to 2 people are right there? That's half the team not on gens.
Also, BT exists. Which even against Bubba or Billy, you will have the chance to use now. They both have cooldowns after overheating.
-
@Flash1232 said:
HOW ABOUT: There's a timer that activates upon killer standing in a 5m radius from the hook after 10 seconds. Then if the killer continues to face camp, the hook will (at least has a chance to) break and the survivor comes free. The hook also stays "sabotaged" for 20-30 seconds so the survivor has a chance to wiggle free (whether the wiggle progression is carried over or not can be discussed).
Face camping is the worst experience for all the players, especially the hooked surv, and ruins whole sessions. Please do something against this apart from describing it as "bad strategy". Many many killers at rank 1-2 still do this all the time and I wonder how they can progress with that "bad strategy".
IMAGINE NEEDING THAT MUCH MORE SECOND CHANCES.
My god. Survivors are relentless with their entitlement.
If a killer does well because they camped - it's BECAUSE THE SURVIVORS ALLOWED IT TO HAPPEN. Period. Survivors have all the power in the world to punish a camping killer. It's not the killers fault if they end up being pepega enough to reward them for it.

What if I got caught due to dedicated hits and oh boy I get those alot I even have clips from the past 2 days if you need evidence. The killer did mess up because they allowed the survivors to get closer to winning the game. Putting more pressure on themselves because there are less gens left even though it's not technically over.
You are only awarded the skill check if you are caught again.
Dedicated hits aren't the killers fault. Blame that on BHVR.
But okay - now you're at the "excuses" phase to try and strengthen the "argument" you never really had. Chill. It's not going well for you.
And no. I don't want to see your clips. Not interested in your stream. And no - allowing gens to get done isn't the killer "messing up". End game builds also exist.

No pls ease don't take my dc bait away from me.
I have no killer on P3 and hence try to avoid 7k bp costs but sometimes have to take a shroud and I personally find it really funny when I load into a game with less than 4 people and just make it a semi obvious farm round. Only topped by the dc waiting in after game to be salty while everyone else got a hefty amount of bp.
Edit:Not funny in general to load into a 3 men game but when people idiotically dc from an unturned offering. 3 out of 4 of these things are not even op.
They DC because a killer with a brain wouldn't be bringing the only shroud they have, that really only helps survivors. No killer wants the survivors spread out. Survivor queues tend to be pretty long these days. You'll have to excuse them for waiting 10 minutes and not wanting to deal with that crap, lol
-
"An average game".
I haven't run DS (outside of a freshly prestiged survivor and that's all they had, but soon switched off) since 2017...everyone told me I'd get relentlessly tunneled. Still hasn't happened. Almost 4 years later. I think the true question and solution here is "What do I think tunneling is, and what is tunneling actually? Those two things are usually very different.
Fancy that.
-
Nobody likes to be camped (though, I totally respect a face camping Bubba with Insidious. That's camping done right, IMO), but there is no situation where camping is "a big no no". There is no rule book that says you can't camp. Gatekeeping playstyles only makes people do it more.

It’s super noticeable and honestly pretty bad-looking. I’m sure it would look cool in 60FPS but at 30 it looks really out of place.
Yep. It reminds me of Assassins Creed: Syndicate, where the game ran great, at high framerates...but the physics animations for all the clothes movement/blowing in the wind was at 30fps, which seemed silly to me.
I mean come on, it's 2020. How is this still a thing that happens?

I'm seeing it run pretty smoothly on PC.
And I gotta say... it looks pretty sweet. There's lots of nice little graphical touches with this overhaul. I've been seeing mixed reviews on how well it's optimized on consoles, but on PC at least it seems to have actually bumped my FPS up a bit.
It's not smooth. If it's smooth to you - you probably aren't that sensitive to FPS differences.
You can literally unpack the file and see it's in 30fps. I'm not talking about the gameplay; and yes, visually it looks great. I'm talking about the animation of the debris after you break the pallet/wall. That animation alone is rendered in 30fps, which stands out when everything around it is in 60+ FPS.

I've ran killers for gens and got caught. Did the killer not make a huge mistake and lose multiple gens? I was gonna go down at some point I never really screwed up I bought time and a lot of it.
You got caught. So you screwed up. The killer hasn't really messed up the game and lost until the doors are opened and everyone is gone (This is why Blood Warden exists). Just like survivors haven't escaped until they are out the door.
But again - you got caught, and therefore you screwed up; and you were rewarded for it with a free skillcheck outplay (KEK).

DS stops the killer from deleting you in 2 seconds. It has no affect on your skill as a looper which is the thing that takes the most skill.
Back to calling me a yellow rank lol. If anything no one takes you seriously blatantly killer biased posts. I mean come on atleast try to hide it.
DS didn't only activate after being caught, downed and hooked? The survivor didn't screw up at all?
Are you going to tell me the survivor earned DS somehow?

If its such an issue for you then maybe run small game, detective's hunch or a map to find the totems. You can run distortion for the aura reveal block I believe.
That would mean not being able to run one of their crutch perks. That's clearly asking too much.
You know - that they actually have to put effort into their gameplay as a survivor.
-

@Peanits and why can the killer see the user names of survivors in the lobby? That promotes dodging and being toxic as well. Especially red rank on PS4, I run into the same Killers a lot and how dare I use decisive strike because now I'm going to get tunneled and face camp every match they see me in.
@concious_consumer that makes too much sense. That's exactly what they need to do, balance them out.

that is the reason the killer sees where his hex totems are at so he can protect them. undying allows the killer to just ignore this secondary objective aspect of the game.
They also have to sacrifice 2 perks slots for it.
You're wrong. Stop running DS, and run detectives hunch. Actually do something to counter it instead of whining for nerfs.

Well lucky you, unfortunately my experience differs greatly. When there isn't an obsession the killer will abandon chases, even if the person he's chasing is injured, to return to the hook and tunnel someone. That's tunneling, focusing on one person until they die, and from my own personal experience it's happened every game without an obsession within the past 4 months (although there aren't many games like that because after the first 6 times I got sick and tired so I'll always have an obsession perk in my loadout, even if it isn't ds).
Even if that was happening to you often - you do have all the resources you need to, in theory, never get caught. Not saying that's a solution, but it's as outlandish as you saying tunneling is somehow happening to you every game. Perhaps you're doing something to get tunneled. 99% of the time when I see someone tunnel, it's either Hag (in which case, she's literally built for that), or a stupid play was made.

As much as I want DS nerfed solo survivors do need it to make up for teammates not running BT. Matchmaking isn't good right now and solos need that safety net unless everyone in that match is a good survivor, however you can't guarantee that.
If it was just slightly nerfed id be fine.
DS needs more than a "slight nerf". It needs conditions. People say "NOED rewards bad plays, and should be a token perk". So does, and should DS.
-
There's only 2 hidden offerings (technically 4 if you count 3 moris) for killers. Mori and shroud. No killer should be playing the shroud. In NO way should a killer ever want survivors to spawn separated. The shrouds should honestly be flipped between survivor and killer. If you're bringing a mori into the game, honestly, you're bringing in something broken and you should expect people not to want to deal with it after the wait time they just dealt with in queue.

Imagine the so called "late game hex perk" actually being able to stay up until the endgame
Also imagine having to not run a crutch perk to maybe run Detectives Hunch, so you can find all the totems.
I know. A novel concept. Ditching a crutch for something functional.
-
It's not sad. It's balanced. If it allowed you to keep the medkit after using those extremely powerful addons, it'd be broken.

@GoodBoyKaru said:

Yes because every survivor uses DS as a crutch and not because without an obsession they'll be tunneled relentlessly by a lot of killers. Particularly solo.
The issue with that statement is, that doesn't happen. I've got more hours in this game than most (over 4k hours now), and tunneling *isn't that common*, and a lot of what people call tunneling is just them doing stupid ######### and getting punished for it. Like safe unhooks, or BT body blocks etc.
The narrative of "tunneling is so common hur durrrr" is horse #########. What isn't horse ######### is those who rely on DS are usually the first ones to die regardless.
-
There are multiple perks, as well as items/addons that counter all hex perks. Get better instead of asking for nerfs.

DBD isn't competitive. The players are. The players are the problem, not the game.
DBD itself is a glorified party game.

"The Blight is very high skill"
"The Blight is terrible!"

You're all silly making these statements on literally day one of his existence. Especially placing him in a tier. Survivors haven't figured out how to counterplay him. When they do, it will be a different ballgame. You're probably the same people who said OMG WRAITH OP when he came out "CuZ HeS iNvIsIbLE!!!"

No? They just made it so that the heat dissipated at the same rate it did on the PTB, which was kind of justified considering the heat did next to nothing. Remember that on the PTB heat did not start to dissipate after ending a sprint, colliding, hitting survivors and you gained heat even when not holding the power button.
This all really means nothing - cause the original statement still stands. For months, years even, they said Billy in his previous state was the "ideal killer" and they liked how he performs. Then they, you know, change him.
-
9, cause I had a really fun time with him on the PTB, and I expect they've changed him for the better for final release. Though - I'm probably even more excited for the graphics upgrades.
I know what you were expecting. A resounding "nah, screw BHVR" so you could parade it around in your next video. Tough noogies, I guess, lol

They are now minimal, yes. They nerfed him a lot on the PTB, which most people didn't like, so they tweaked it for the release. The big changes were to his add-ons.
You're aware they basically put him back to PTB state after release, right?

It really doesn't need a longer animation. Killer already has priority with their kicking the hatch closed animation over the hatch jump animation. The animation is fine, it's 50/50. Whoever finds it first deserves to win that match.

What have I made up to prove my point. Moris are commonly used. Them being found commonly in tbe blood web si their reason for being commonly used.
But once again you are starting drama over what a thing that is getting reworked soon. Its whatever I'm done replying to you. :)
Commonly found on bloodwebs. Not commonly used. You can see hundreds, thousands of hours of proof of this from DBD content creators. These people have the most hours played in the game. The ratio of games with mori's to games without mori's is smaller than a mosquito's penis.
Again - you're exaggerating.
EDIT: I noticed, you're on console. That explains a lot, actually. Not about you - but about the killers.
-
To be clear - if you get 3 kills and the last survivor gets hatch, you are not being robbed. It was 50/50 who would find it first.
I still don't like the hatch mechanic the way it's currently implemented (it shouldn't appear with a single gen left and 3 players alive like it does, for example), but you are in no way being robbed as a result of the last person getting hatch.

I'm failing to see how I'm exaggerating. Are you denying his common ebony's are in the bloodweb. You know they are MORE common than ivory's right? Well at this point it doesnt matter now does it? Moris are getting reworked.
Being condescending doesnt make you cool or strengthen your argument although I enjoyed talking to you it was pretty funny. :)
Again - learn to read. I previously mentioned that common on the bloodweb and commonly used are two completely different things. If you are going to blatantly ignore (or conveniently forget) things like that, perhaps you should take a debate class. Unlike you - I don't have to ignore things, or make things up to prove my point.
Ignoring things doesn't make you cool or strengthen your (lack of) argument. I enjoyed talking to you today. It reminded my why you probably get mori'd "every game lul".

I mean some people think flashlighting a killer breaking a pallet is toxic
Some people think using *insert perk name here* is toxic.
Thus - "whats so hard about not being toxic?" isn't the question that needs to be asked. The question that needs asking is "why is everyones definition of toxic stupid?".
